You guys ever think how the Uchihas dealt with, like their mental health?

Because from what I understand the 'Curse of Hatred' is generally accepted as a fact, so every uchiha who dealt with issues like grief or depression in an even slightly destructive way would be dubed as just having that and probably wouldn't get any actual help. Hell they (konoha) might even make it worse since they'll be suspicious and wary of them.

As someone who has been in a situation where I was struggling with mental health while people around refused to admit anything was wrong the prospect of a whole clan dealing with the same is... kind of horrifying.

The conversation around Sasuke leaving Konoha needs to change. It's true that the in-story narrative by those who don't know Sasuke is that he is a traitor that betrayed Konoha. Unfortunately, too many in the fandom take this narrative at face value. But neither Naruto or Sakura endorse this view. Although they are confused by Sasuke's choice they both know Sasuke too well.

People talk about Sasuke choosing to leave Konoha...

But no one talks about how Itachi told Sasuke he'd come back to kill him someday. And Sasuke had very good reason to think that Itachi would target anyone Sasuke got close to.

Or how about how the curse seal would have killed Sasuke if it wasn't fully activated?

Or how Orochimaru made it clear he wasn't going to stop pursuing Sasuke? How long do you think it would have been till his patience ran out and he got tired of asking nicely?

Or how about the fact that he was found and targeted while he was in the village. The village couldn't protect him. Kakashi couldn't protect him. It's even the whole reason Naruto left to train, because the village wasn't safe enough. Naruto had people looking out for him. But Sasuke didn't. He is targeted multiple times and the village didn't take any action to protect him.

Yeah, Sasuke did make a choice. The right choice. He made the best choice he could make under the circumstances and no one-- not konoha, not Naruto, not Sakura--no one was hurt more by Sasuke's choice than it hurt Sasuke to make the choice to leave and live with one of his abusers. Yet he was the only person who offered to do anything to help him deal with his other abuser. It was horrible that Sasuke had to put himself through this second trauma... And yet the fandom has the audacity to make Sasuke's trauma about Naruto?? Or about Sakura?? Sometimes it really seems like no one in this fandom gives a crap about Sasuke unless it's to prop up their stupid ships. The fandom literally treats Sasuke like crap. Sasuke didn't leave because he wanted to. He wasn't being selfish or greedy. He just took stock of his situation and made the most viable choice he had. He wasn't happy that it was. He was willing to die for Naruto and Sakura. He valued them more than than his own life. Of course he wanted to stay. But he couldn't.

Ironically the fandom has compassion for Itachi for doing what he felt like he had to do, even though he actually killed people, and when he torments Sasuke, of course even then people actually focus on Itachi. But Sasuke did something that incidentally hurt Naruto and Sakura, do he's a selfish traitor. Sasuke didn't owe Naruto or Sakura. Yes, we see Naruto cared about Sasuke, but to Sasuke's face Naruto had treated him like he was a rival he wanted to overcome more than as a friend. And Sakura? He never started a relationship with Sakura. He may have felt guilty because he was abandoning his duty to Konoha.... the irony.

Sasuke lost everything once, and then he lost everything again when he was forced to leave it all behind. And it killed him. That Sasuke, the part one Sasuke who sometimes acted his age, he died. Sasuke killed him, so he could survive. It was yet another traumatic experience in his life.

That's the conversation we should be having about Sasuke leaving.

I need to know Madara's workout routine when he was growing up with Izuna 💪😏

alright everyone first set of hcs with Izuna! I really love the sibling dynamic between these two, reminds me of the dynamic i have with my sister. I think that their close relationship and constant sparring is a direct result of the loss of their other brothers, causing Madara and Izuna to train to watch each other's backs and to defend what they hold close to their hearts. Anyways, here's a premium Uchiha bros workout routine!

• Their daily training starts very early in the morning, even earlier than sunrise (about 5am). Madara started leading the clan at a young age, even before becoming an adult, so Izuna and him wake up as early as possible to use daylight to the max and the evenings are for paperwork.

• Mostly start with a long run to train endurance, about an hour until 6am. Would make it more difficult by running across rivers or mountains to also train chakra control.

• Taijutsu training until 9am to warm up (yeah 3 hours of warm up bc they're extra).

• Another 3 hours of ninjutsu training to improve as much as possible their katonjutsu. Also spare some time at this point to train younger shinobi in their clan and examine the quality of their army. Izuna is better at dealing with teens whereas Madara guides both young adults and children.

• At noon they'd have lunch and eat a LOT. Like 2 whole fishes each or something like that. Since they're good bros, they'd cook together 🥺💕 Izuna makes good rice and Madara knows how to make bomb ass roasted fish.

• After lunch they nap under a tree in their backyard or in the engawa of their house, until about 1pm.

• From 1pm to 4pm it's fighting. Straight up battlefield simulation, every single technique available, all their weapons. This doubles as Sharingan training.

• After their last sparring session they go home and shower. At least half an hour in the hot springs to soothe the sore muscles. Madara is the best big bro ever and rubs ointment in any bruise or wound that Izuna has. Izuna being a loyal and caring little bro insists on Madara wearing his gloves to not harm his hands every day and watches over him constantly. If one of them is too tired, the other one does their haircare and skincare. Peak brotherhood.

• Another little nap and straight to paperwork until about 11pm. Rinse and repeat the next day!

I never agreed with Itachi's ideas that the Uchiha clan should have continued to sit on what they were owed even if it led to a definite war that would have caused many other problems. The only big problem with the Uchiha clan is that they never knew how to act in the right way, when they should have united against the power it was during Madara's time, but the whole clan decided to unite against him and call him a psychopathic madman who seeks war against everyone. Madara was never crazier than anyone else in this manga, he was just lucid, logical and claimed his rightful place as at least the 2nd hokage. It seems to me that in the beginning "the Hokage" should have been elected by the people as a kind of president, it was a kind of democracy, but it quickly turned into royalism, and it was Tobirama who literally INHERITED the title of second hokage because his older brother decided so and because it was family.

How did the creation of a village that was supposed to bring peace between two great clans turn out to be the worst thing ever and literally create an even bigger rift between them? Simply because the Senju clan (and yet what they blame the Uchiha clan for) never knew how to calm down and make things right. I hate them all, none of them are realistic and right. Whether it's Hashirama who literally shat on his friend Madara after he got what he wanted, Tobirama who did nothing right except make things worse, Tsunade who was never honest with anything during her mandate as hokage. They all let hatred and injustice proliferate because they had full power and benefits. I probably have more hatred for Hashirama than anyone else in this clan, because he could have changed things, but did nothing. Tobirama and Tsunade were both bad people from the beginning, there was nothing surprising about that.

It ended on the massacre of the Uchiha clan.

What do you think about mikoto and fugaku as parents to Itachi & Sasuke? Fugaku gets a bad rep as a parent, but what about mikoto?

Wow, I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

Yeah, Fugaku gets a bad rep as a father and it's rightly so. Mikoto is seen as a loving mother, and while some part of that love is valid, and I like her for being a good mom to Sasuke, my admiration for her was dented upon the realization that she was a neglectful mother towards Itachi. And as much of a hot take as it might seem, both Fugaku and Mikoto were better parents to Sasuke than they were ever to Itachi.

So, I have mixed feelings about them both. And when I include Fugaku with Mikoto as a 'better parent' to Sasuke, please know the bar is in absolute hell.

I like the fact that Mikoto was at least invested in Sasuke's life.

She was present in his life, albeit for a short while, and involved in it. She provided him, offered him the love he deserved and needed as a baby. She saw Sasuke was suffering and struggling to get his father's attention, and provided her moral support to him. There's not a single instance, however, she was present there for Itachi. Itachi, too, would have needed his mother's support sometime, that too when he was being sucked into the politics, but we don't see him getting any of that. One could argue it was because Sasuke never witnessed.. Yeah, but how was it after learning the truth not a single memory clicked in his mind that would give away Itachi's sufferings in front of his mom? It's probably because it never happened.

Fugaku was outright neglectful towards Sasuke. Not just that he repeatedly compared Sasuke with Itachi, refusing to see him as his own person and saw him as only a shadow of the 'perfect' Itachi. If Sasuke wasn't as good as Itachi in all the things, he wasn't worth paying attention to, right?

The reason Sasuke was Sasuke and Itachi was Itachi was because of Mikoto. I strongly feel that children need a powerful feminine presence in their lives, which comes from their mothers or sisters. Sasuke was gentle and remained so after everything he went through. I believe it was because in his formative years Mikoto had been there for him.

There's a lot more to explore on Fugaku and Itachi than his parents with Sasuke. When I say Fugaku was a better father to Sasuke, what I mean is that despite being neglectful, he didn't drag Sasuke in the political mess that Itachi was. Sasuke was kept in complete darkness (probably like other kids of the clan) but Itachi wasn't shown this much kindness.

Fugaku and Itachi's conversations are mostly one sided with Mikoto being a silent spectator.

This conversation in particular pains me the most in regards to Itachi. It's like he's only allowed to say yes and no, and any other disagreement with his father on the subject will not be taken positively. He seems unhappy and is suffering and his feelings as a child are not taken into account at all. I say no one treated him like a human. But his own parents never even saw him a child.

Itachi had been acting strange ever since joined Anbu and Fugaku wonders what's wrong with him.

Shisui was spying on Itachi. Did he agree to go out spy on his BFF because some random Uchiha said this to him? Or was he ordered to do so by the chief of the police force? Fugaku, most likely, consented to Shisui spying on Itachi.

Some people say this is an instance of Itachi being evil. LMAO. imagine your best friend committed suicide in front of you and some people come to your house to accuse you of his murder along with many other things? Right. He must behave very angelic.

My man's worried what's wrong with his son who's being subjected to some burden he's dealing with all alone. And neither him not his wife want to reach out to him like normal parents should.

Eventually, when Sasuke asks whats wrong with Itachi and why he doesn't pay much attention to him, Fugaku has an even-I-don't-know response.

In the anime Fugaku says 'Your brother had a hard time dropping his guard'. All of it is an indicator of how terribly Itachi was treated. It wasn't just neglect but also an additional burden of the clan and the village. And all of this is being said about a child that isn't even thirteen yet.

Honestly, I give a lot of benefit of doubt to all the characters in Naruto, Fugaku and Mikoto included. And this opinion on Sasuke and Itachi's parents is because how much Itachi is hated when, it's obvious how every single grown up, especially his parents, in his life failed him. He wasn't treated as a child.

Although, I don't like to hate on their parents either. Fugaku and Mikoto were nothing but kind to Itachi in the end. He'd have cherished those last moments forever until his last breath. Sasuke spoke openly to his father the day he lost him. He'd have hoped he'd continue to be like this with his family but that was the only time in his life he received genuine acknowledgement from his dad.

No, Fugaku and Mikoto were worse parents to Itachi than they were to Sasuke. I like Mikoto because she loved sasuke and showed him genuine love. But i can't like her more because Itachi needed support from his family, which he never got.

Yet they both lost so much and loss of their parents was the worst thing that happened to them both.

So this started as just a silly little au where Madara Uchiha is just a skrunkly old OLD man.

He's just living his ultimate retirement and...healing?? I guess is a way to put it. But also being a pain for poor Obito.

Also the Uchiha clan is definitely not murdered.

Things of note:

Izuna still dies, I feel it's an important cornerstone of Madara's character development.

He was infatuated (maybe a little obsessed) with Hashirama ever since they first met but he never acts upon it, feeling that Hashirama has higher priorities than him. Haha RIP king u deserved better.

Madara is still "killed" by Hashirama and remains in hiding after resurrecting. Zetsu is there too! I consider him like to be a really chill houseplant.

While Hashirama and Tobirama are still alive, he stays in his hideout for years. Still researching and developing jutsus with Hashirama's DNA that he stole.

He refuses to join the Uchiha elders, thinking himself much more important than them but also not wanting to waste time in "pointless meetings".

He returns to the village when the Third Hokage begins his term. The Uchiha clan welcome him back, the rest of the village is still uneasy about him but he is allowed to live within the Uchiha compound.

He takes in Obito after the death of Obito's parents. In this case, Obito is just a baby.

Madara later takes in Mikoto who, in this au, also loses her parents when she's around 10 years old.

Oh God I've domesticated him....but I think he feels pity for them. He's lost family and seeing these orphaned kids sparks something in him. It's impulsive but now he finds himself with two kids wow!

For the first time in a long time, he looks forward to what life has to bring. Mikoto is wildly intelligent and takes her training very seriously. Obito is a strange child (in Madara's opinion) but he finds him amusing. They are a ragtag little family but Madara is proud of it.

Obito is still nearly killed during his mission at Kannabi Bridge. Madara rescues him and rehabilitates him still making use of Zetsu and Hashirama's DNA.

Mikoto eventually marries Fugaku (Madara doesn't approve of that but he won't argue with Mikoto) and moves out of the household.

As Madara gets older, Obito is responsible for him which basically means keeping him out of trouble.

When Mikoto has Itachi and Sasuke, he is very happy! Sasuke is his favorite because he reminds him of a young Izuna.

Madara has various hobbies, he's tired of war. He still likes fighting but like... sparring (still trying to find that high from when he used to fight with Hashirama).

He takes up art, falconry, *cough* collecting eyes *cough* it's for research and preventing the sharingan from falling into the wrong hands.

But yeah I think that covers the basics!
