I think that Heather is really good at Costco. Some of it comes from the virtue of her being a white suburban mom but I think she has just the right attitude about it. She maps it out in her head, minimal extended stops, maximum efficiency. She has enough dexterity to maneuver around the people who park their big ass carts in the middle of the isle. She also has enough mental to adapt to any change of plan and the physical to fight a bitch if it comes to that. On the other hand, Jean Paul is horrible at Costco. He wants to get in and out too fast. He lacks the patience and understanding required to not ram his cart into other people. He does not understand that while the people in Costco inconvenience him, he is also a person in Costco and not exempt from the cycle. He’s gotten into multiple fights in the freezer section. Now they just have to park him at the food court with a Diet Pepsi and a slice of cheese pizza while everyone else Costcos. He doesn’t mind at all. He hates team building exercises and Costco.

Another certified alpha flight moment I think about a lot is when Mac was dying when they fought lamer alpha flight the first time and Heathers ass was like ‘I wonder what’s behind this door 🤭’. It’s your husband. His suit is malfunctioning and he’s going to explode right in front of you. You now have to take on a huge responsibility of keeping the now not government sponsored super police in order while dealing with immense grief and guilt. You can’t stop thinking about if you had never wondered what’s behind that door, would your husband still be alive. The only solace in this stressful time of your life is two men who are both kinda into you but one is in a weird situationship thing with a married couple and the other has intense internalized ableism but at least he’s not making it your problem. I mean like damn, if I was Heather ‘Girlboss’ McNeil Hudson I would have to take a 6 month vacation or become a hermit or something.

THE VINDICATOR(1986)

Probablemente de los pocos méritos del que puede presumir "The Vindicator" es haberse adelantado un año a "Robocop y el

aspecto del "Vindicator" que se lo debemos a Stan Winston, que fue contratado tras su labor en "Terminator" (como aquella, aquí también hay un falso busto totalmente animatrónico del héroe).

Un científico, a punto de ser padre de familia, es asesinado en un accidente provocado por sus superiores con el fin de usar el cadáver para experimentar. Se trata de convertirlo en relleno de un traje futurista diseñado para viajar a Marte a base de conectar su cerebro a una serie de electrodos de modo que pueda ser tele-dirigido Pero en un descuido, el hombre se activa antes de que puedan enchufarle un control remoto y huye. Poco a poco va recordando y recuperando la personalidad, así que decide vengarse de quienes le han puteado.

Esta producción Canadiense del 1986 dirigida por Jean-Claude Lord ,está dirigida de forma bastante torpe ,puede que lo más doloroso sean los momentos de humor voluntario, pocos pero chirriantes. Y luego, pues un puñado de incongruencias absurdas, como el modo en que el "Vindicator" entra en contacto con su mujer (a través del sintetizador) y lo fácil que le resulta a ella convencerse de que se trata de él, aunque lo que haga sea hablarle a un teclado.

También hay sitio para la risa involuntaria, como esos moteros que ven al cyborg por la calle, perdido, y le califican de "chuleta"... Una vez le acorralan, uno comenta que "Parece un super-héroe salido de un tebeo".quien le encuentra parecido a El increíble Hulk( supongo cosas del doblaje)

El mayor acierto de "The Vindicator" consiste en que para el enfrentamiento final, el mega-malo de la peli se enfunda en otro traje futurista idéntico, por aquello de estar a la altura de su contrincante. Ello debería haber desencadenado una batalla titánica de proporciones apocalípticas... pero no, la cosa queda bastante deslucida y poco emocionante, es decir, a la altura del tono general.... que incluye aquí la desencantada y nada emotiva historia de amor imposible. Por lo demás, pues menos violencia de lo que sería deseable (la única muerte algo truculenta es la del mismo protagonista) .

No es que "The Vindicator" sea un mega-truño, pero es una pena que con Stan Winston y su maravilloso trabajo para esta película, no se le sacará más partido al protagonista y su transformación.

Para mi película muy disfrutable pero dirigida con muy poca gracia
