Warnings: Orgasm denial, Hand Jobs, Exhibitionism, Cucking, Voyeurism, Teasing, Zeke, Levi being scrumptious
Word Count: 3.3K
a/n: THERE ARE MANGA SPOILERS IN THIS! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED DO NOT READ THIS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Ok now for the actual note, guess who's back and sharing Zeke content. Me. It's me. What better way to come back to this hell app than with the trash man himself. ANYWHOO I don't wanna toot my own horn with this one but uhhh @ever-enthralled beta read this for me and it got her to thirst for Levi so like... you know it's gonna be good folks.
Clear blue eyes follow you around the camp, watching your every movement, cultivating your attention as you gather more wood for the fire. Zeke’s slimy tongue slithers over his cracked lips, trying and failing to moisturize them as he thinks of how soft your lips would be against his.
The sway of your hips, the flex of your muscles, the way your ass jiggles when you crouch down to readjust the log for the fire is agonizing. Not because you’re painfully beautiful, which is indeed a fact, but that Zeke can’t get to you, can’t have his hands all over you, that is the tragedy.
The captain watches him squirm with an ever watchful eye. He can’t remember the last time he blinked, but he’ll be damned if he does and this monkey bastard transforms into a Titan and tries to get away. He glares at Zeke, watching the way his feet dig into the dirt, and his wrists and ankles pull against the tight binds, tied by the captain himself to ensure no means of escape. The deep seated hate festers, Erwin’s last command ever present in Levi’s mind, he grinds his teeth as he follows Zeke's gaze to you.
Zeke’s eyes are running over your body, following every curve, watching every bounce; he’s inhaling the faint floral scent that’s always been wrapped around you like a disgusting bloodhound who's found its favorite smell. You’re his prey, but Levi will be damned if he ever lets you get close to him.
When it’s time to serve Zeke water, Levi watches you play rock paper scissors with the other soldiers in the circle and lose before glancing dejectedly over to the disgustingly alluring captive. The other luckier soldiers gather their belongings and head to their tents for the night.
You pick up the water canteen and make your way slowly over to him. Levi watches intently, hand on his swords, ready to strike if need be. He knows he doesn’t need to come to your rescue, you're a capable soldier, one of the strongest ones here in fact.
“Ah, so I’ve been lucky enough to have you bless me with your presence,” Zeke says, smiling as you approach him. You roll your eyes, becoming used to the compliments he showers you with in a pathetic attempt to court you.
“Water,” you reply, bending down next to him.
“So it is. Tell me, do you enjoy the taste of wine?” he inquires, peaking an eyebrow.
“I like to keep my mind and skills sharp in case you try anything funny so no,” you snap.
“Hmm...Perfect,” he replies with a smile.
You roll your eyes again when he looks at you with big wide pleading eyes and puckers his lips toward you. You place the spout of the canteen to his lips and tilt it so he can drink. The water slides down his gullet as he drinks noisily. When you move the spout away from his lips and screw the cap back on, he licks his lips seductively and says, “I always imagine it’s your lips , when it’s time for my water breaks.”
You glare at him, try to stifle your anger at his words, but the slick comment slips from your lips before you’re able to stop it. “I wouldn’t kiss you if my life depended on it,” you spit back to him. “That’s what they all say doll, but I’m sure the devils here on Paradis don’t know anything about eating pussy. I’m sure I could change your mind from that alone,” he says grinning at you and raising his eyebrows. You’re shocked at the lewdness of his words, but it doesn’t deter you enough from snapping back with a more biting comment. “I wouldn’t let you near my pussy if humanity depended on it. Nice try though,” you say, standing and walking away from him. You’re so infuriated you don’t realize you’re about to run into the captain himself. When you look into his eyes, your cheeks grow hot and you think he’s staring at you disapprovingly. “I’m sorry Captain, I know you ordered us not to speak to him unless needed...” “What did he say to you?” The captain asks in a stern voice. You look away embarrassed, not wanting to repeat his disgusting words. “Nothing you’d be interested in hearing sir,” you mutter. “I asked you what he said,” he replies shortly. When you stutter out Zeke’s filthy phrase, Levi turns back to him and glares. Zeke chuckles, drawing conclusions about your conversation.
He raises his voice, “I’m only telling the truth, Ackerman. You may be skilled in combat, but pleasuring a woman, that's where I have you beat,” he says laughing to himself.
You shrink away from the conversation, the crush you’ve always had on the captain vibrating in your heart. A quick fantasy of his gorgeous eyes looking up at you while between your legs makes you clench your thighs together.
Levi ponders Zeke’s words, replaying them over and over as he remembers the way Zeke leaned toward you when you crouched next to him. He remembers the way Zeke licked his lips and watched your every movement, the lust drowning in his expression. He’d even caught a glimpse of Zeke’s dick twitching in his pants as you spit your insult back at him and suddenly Levi has an idea.
“Y/n, I want you to do something for me. You don’t have to agree, but I have a proposition for you,” Levi says. Your eyes light up at the chance to be able to fulfill a request for him. He speaks low, out of earshot of Zeke, and explains his plan. When he’s done and you nod in agreement, you depart back to your tent as Levi comes to stand in front of Zeke.
“Don’t ever look in her direction again, monkey or I’ll carve your eyes out,” he says before activating his ODM gear and ascending up into a tree to keep a lookout.
Zeke watches you enter your tent and start to remove your uniform. He can see you slowly unbutton your shirt through the little sliver left in the opening and he’s eternally grateful. He sees you look over your shoulder as you shed the fabric and catch his eye, before you wink and close the opening of the tent, shielding yourself from view.
--
The moon is overhead and Zeke has dozed off. He’s shivering and his head lulls to the side as he breathes softly as puffs of vapor fall from his lips. It’s chilly and he’s only wearing slacks thanks to Levi stripping him of all layers due to suspicion. His eyes shoot open when he hears soft footsteps approaching him in the darkness. He panics slightly, looking up at the dark canopy to see if Levi has finally come to end him.
He’s shocked when he sees it’s you, strutting toward him on your tiptoes in the darkness. You're holding a blanket, and smiling at him.
“Here, it’s a lot colder tonight than it has been,” you say draping the blanket around his shoulders and bending down next to him. He’s shocked at how tender you are with him, a significant shift from your behavior earlier and he’s immediately suspicious. When you reach out to rub your hand through his thick hair, he flinches away from you.
You pull your hand back and give him a pathetic apologetic look. “I’m sorry I have to act that way in front of the captain. But you’ve seen him, he’s terrifying. I wouldn’t dare not follow his orders,” you say poking your bottom lip out and looking up at him through your eyelashes.
Zeke watches as you pull your bottom lip between your teeth and reach out to him again. This time he leans into your touch, aching to feel your warm hand against his cold forehead and brush through his locks. When your skin touches his, he sighs and relaxes. His eyes close as you scratch his scalp and smile lovingly at him. The ache he felt in his crotch previously makes its way back and he curses under his breath at not being able to take you right here.
He opens his eyes again when you stop scratching his scalp and his eyes bug out when he sees you pull your sleeping shirt over your head and you’re bare in front of him. Your pert nipples harden as the cold air licks at them and Zeke’s mouth waters. When you step over his legs and sit down to straddle him, he groans. You grind against his throbbing cock, tightening and restrained in his pants and move closer to him. He can feel your warmth even through the thick sleeping garb you're still wearing on your legs.
“I’ve wanted to do this since we arrived in the forest, but I never had the chance too,” you say looking into his eyes. You bite your lip again, blink slowly as your hands run down his hairy chest.  You pinch one of his nipples and he grunts and thrust up into you.
“You little minx,” he says through his teeth. You place a slender finger to his lips and shush him, before slipping it into his mouth. You move closer to him, pressing your bare chest to his and he shivers from your burning touch. He struggles against the ropes, wanting to roam his hands all over you but he settles for the saltiness of your finger.
His tongue swirls around and he sucks it, trying to show you how skilled he is, how he hopes to suck on your clit tonight. As if you’re reading his mind you purr in his ear,  “I’ve been thinking about your tongue all night.”
You feel his cock twitch against your ass again and you wind your hips in a small circle, pressing down on the tent in his pants. He leans away from your finger to kiss between your breast and nibble on your nipples. The hair from his beard scratches you but you sigh and moan when he bites down and licks your nipple.
“Fuck sweetheart untie my hands. I need to feel you,” he moans, moving to try and give you a quick kiss on the lips. You dodge him, smiling playfully before plopping a quick kiss on the tip of his nose.
“Silly Mr. Jaeger. If I untie your arms, the Captain will come for sure. He’s got great instincts you know. I’m sure the only reason he hasn’t come is because you’re doing so well at being quiet,” you say with salacious innocence.
You’re lovely, for an island devil, and Zeke is pretty sure he could save you. The others have to die, but you, surely you could be swayed into knowing that you couldn’t be allowed to make more little beasts. You’ve shown that you can be obedient, that you sympathize with him, and even if you don’t, he’s very confident he can fuck the right idea into your mind. The way you’re hanging on to him now, the way you’re grinding against him, panting like a bitch in heat, he knows you want him.
Your hands snake down his broad chest, running your nails over the tight pecs and abs and stopping at the buckle of his pants. Your lidded eyes gaze into his, blinking slowly again and holding his attention. He bites his lip as your sweet voice rings in his ears.
“Do you want me to touch it, Mr. Jaeger? I really want to touch it.”
“Go ahead doll. You can touch it,” he says sucking in the cool breath between the two of you. Your expert fingers undo the buckle of his belt, plunge down his pants, and release his weeping length. When your fingers wrap around him, firmly grasp the base and squeeze, he throws his head back and groans.
His moan is proud, entitled, loud and you have to slap your hand over his mouth to make sure you don’t get caught. You shush him again, putting a finger to your pretty lips and raising one eyebrow to chastise him. He kisses and licks the hand over his mouth and you move it to run it through his hair again as you spit into your other palm and stroke his cock. It’s long, pretty and surrounded by coarse blonde hair. He sucks in a breath as you tighten your grip and slip your hand up and down his shaft. You mix his precum with the spit in your hand, teasing his tip when your hand reaches the top.
He bites his lip, whimpers and kisses up your chest. He lifts his hips, matches your pace and fucks your hand, craving your warm wet cunt. When he tries to kiss your lips again, you stop pumping him and grab his cheeks, a new expression on your pretty face, scolding, disappointed, mocking .
“I don’t know that you deserve to kiss me, Mr. Jaeger. You’re so loud when you know we should be quiet,” your voice is still quiet, twinkling with that salacious innocence you’ve expressed but there’s a hint of power behind your words now and you sound dangerous.
Zeke is flustered, his cheeks are dusted red and he’s panting and groaning and pleading for you to move your hand again. He promises to be quieter, to not tell anyone about your encounter, “I promise baby, please .”
“You’ll be quiet?” You say licking at his earlobe and resuming your motion. He groans again, quieter this time but more desperate. He squeezes his eyes shut, and lifts his hips up into your tight fist. When he’s on the brink of orgasm, you stop again and giggle at his anguished cry.
“You didn’t answer me, Mr. Jaeger.”
Zeke knows you’ll be a good asset to his cause now. You’re ruthless, strong, you take what you want and it only makes him want to fuck you into submission, to punish you for teasing him this way, put you in your place and have you next to him when he achieves his goal. When he thinks about how much he can fill you and make you his without the added fear of producing another monster like the rest of the Eldians here, he trembles in horrific pleasure.
“I’ll be quiet, just fucking let me come,” he hisses through his teeth.
You increase your pace, getting Zeke right to the cusp of his orgasm again as he grunts and fucks himself on your hand. He’s breathing hard with wide eyes and biting his lip to hold the loud groan he wants to let out as he rides out his would be orgasm. You run your hand toward the back of his coarse tresses and yank his head up to look you in the eyes as he is about to combust.
He stares into your eyes and what he sees there frightens him. Tears from the constant edging and fear spill from his eyes. He can see the reflection of the moon in your eyes, and very quickly the streak of a small lithe man zipping from a tree overhead.
When Levi approaches and observes the scene, you don’t look worried as you portrayed. You look at him as if you’re searching for approval and Zeke realizes, this is what Levi whispered to you. You stand and walk toward the Captain, bare and proud in front of him. He gives you a small nod, his eyes lingering on your body hungrily.
“Good work, y/n,” he praises and you smile at him. When he turns his attention to Zeke, you pull your shirt over your head but he stops you and pulls you close, eyes never leaving Zeke’s.
“What was that about pleasuring a woman better than me, ape?” he says as he wraps an arm around your waist. The shock on your face lets Zeke know what happens next is not part of the plan.
Levi crashes his lips to yours, holding the back of your head with his long skilled fingers and gripping the base of your hair. The kiss is passionate, cocky but not devoid of attraction. The Captain wants to be kissing you, he wants your body close to his, and he wants to fuck you in front of this monkey bastard, to make him see what he will never have.
When the two of you break the kiss, you both are breathing hard with lust and he gives you a look that asks if this is what you want. You pull your shirt over your head to answer his silent question and he quickly unbuckles his equipment and straps.
Zeke watches in wordless disbelief as you pull your pants down and expose what he’s been fantasizing about all night. His mouth waters and he growls in frustration as you approach Levi and help him remove his clothes. Zeke yells in anger when the captain’s hands roam over your body, squeezing and rubbing over your soft supple thighs.
When you both are completely naked and marveling at how amazing you both look to each other, Zeke takes in how perfect both of your bodies are. He’s always admired Levi’s strength but to find out he’s well endowed too, admiration quickly replaces his envy.
You kiss Levi again, softly as if it’s a dream come true. He places a hand on your cheek, pushes your hair from your face and says in your ear, “Turn around,” before he pulls you flush to his body and his fingers snake down to your clit. Your ass rubs against his already hard dick and you gasp at his touch. He pushes down on the small of your back, bending you over against a nearby tree and surveying how wet you already are from his touch.
“Captain, please fuck me,” you whisper desperately in a voice Zeke wishes you used for him .
Zeke pulls desperately at the rope at his hands so hard it makes red marks on his wrists and Levi’s eyes move quickly to him. Levi picks up his sword and points it toward Zeke’s face, one hand still digging into the meat of your ass.
“Do any titan shifting and I’ll carve you up without ever slipping out of her,” he threatens in a deep husky voice. You moan at the same time Zeke whimpers in fear of Levi’s very possible threat. Levi positions his cock at your entrance and says before he enters you slowly,
“You’re going to watch me do the one thing you’ve been wanting to do since you got to this forest, you furry bastard. You’ll hear her say my name, and you’ll know I fucked her better than you ever could, as if I would ever give you the chance to touch her.”
Zeke watches as Levi’s hips snap into yours and you call out his name as he predicted. Your legs quiver from only a few thrusts and Zeke momentarily wonders what Levi’s technique is. Levi curses under his breath, praises you, compliments how well you take his cock and Zeke knows it’s all things he would be saying to you. Things that he will say to you, one day.
If Levi thought he would give up that easy, he was wrong. He’s always been a stubborn bastard, a stubborn patient bastard. He’ll have his chance with you. When both you and Levi cry out in ecstasy and he releases hot sticky cum onto your back, Zeke has calmed down. He watches the captain bring your face up to his to kiss you again before he sits back quietly, planning his and your escape.

Bad Timing (Levi x reader) Part 9
Tumblr media
Summary: How do you tell your friends that you’re falling for your big brother’s best friend?
Word Count: 4.3K
__
You bounced your knee impatiently to the beat of the loud party music that was so loud it was vibrating the walls. For the first time in a long while you weren't in the mood to drink. So here you were sitting on a sofa in the middle of a crowded living room on a Saturday night. You were watching Sasha and Connie play a rousing game of beer pong against Bertholdt and Reiner. Annie, the only other sober person at the party, sat to your left scrolling through her phone. The rest of the people at the party were crowded into the kitchen or the basement. You had only been here about an hour and already the majority of the guests were drunk. Mikasa, Armin, and Eren had not yet arrived, you hoped that they would get here soon. Jean and Marco had disappeared about twenty minutes ago, leaving you stranded in the living room. You sighed and looked down at your phone, it was already eleven thirty. Just as you were setting your phone down you got a text.
"Be there in twenty" Mikasa's text put you at ease, you could survive for twenty more minutes.
"Okay, drive safe." You shoved your phone back into your pocket and stood up. Maybe you should drink tonight, your week had been stressful your homework load increasing substantially due to the end of the semester approaching. You wandered into the kitchen, pushing past a group of boys to get to the alcohol. You poured yourself a full shot glass of Pink Whitney and knocked the beverage back with ease.
"I didn't know Erwin's baby sister drank." A voice drawled from your right. You scrunched your nose, still feeling the burn of the alcohol as you turned to see who had addressed you.
"She does." you grumbled as you reached for a bottle of Smirnoff ice.
"I'm impressed." now his hand had crept into your line of sight, hungry for your attention. Hoping to deter the stranger you turned and frowned at him. You noted that he was clearly older than you with a shock of light blonde hair atop his head, when you met his eyes you couldn't help but admire his hazel hues as his own gaze took in your appearance. He slowly lifted a red solo cup to his lips and took a sip, his eyes now locked on yours.
"So, what's your name?" he asked.
"Thought you knew me." you countered as you lifted your own drink to your lips.
"I do, just asking out of courtesy." he shrugged, a sly smirk spreading over his face.
"Fine I'll play along. My name is (Y/n), and yours is?" you scoffed with a dramatic eye roll.
"Pleasure to meet you miss (Y/n), my name is Colt Grice." the boy said with a light chuckle.
"So tell me, how exactly do you know my name?" you quizzed, the alcohol making you feel bolder. The boy sighed and glanced up at the ceiling in thought.
"Hm well let's see...for starters I follow you on instagram. I also went to a football summer camp with your brother once." He answered, flashing you a bright smile.
"Ah gotcha." you nodded as you took a long sip of your drink. You turned, quickly losing interest in this conversation.
"Say, where is your brother?" Colt pressed, ah there it was.
"Out." you answered curtly as you turned to flee. You were shocked to feel a strong hand clasp around your bicep and pull you back. You spun around with full intention of smashing your bottle against this handsy creep. But he caught your wrist, with your hands out of commission he pulled you backwards into a dark hallway. Your eyes felt like they were about to pop out of your head as he pushed you against the wall.
"What. Are. You. Doing." you hissed a blind sense of rage washing over your senses.
"Look, just listen okay? I've been trying to get in touch with him for a few days now, I've got some questions for him." Colt's hazel eyes were wide and vulnerable as he begged for your attention once more.
"Let go of me."
"Please just ask him to check his instagram DMs, tell him it's important."
"Fine, let go of me." he dropped his hands and quickly shoved them into the pockets of his joggers.
"Sorry." he mumbled as he kicked the wood floor with the toe of his shoe.
"Just don't do that again." you snapped as you wrapped your own hand around your wrist, where he had held you.
"I promise I won't." he looked embarrassed now as he waved his hands in surrender.
"Good." you eyed him suspiciously as you moved to slip past him. He let you past, you walked briskly back into the kitchen, which was still busy. Just as you turned to wander back into the living room you bumped right into Eren. Thankfully your drink was mostly empty and Eren seemed to have just walked into the room so he was empty handed. His hand grabbed your bicep to steady you, which you were thankful for.
"Eren, when did you get here?" you asked as he squeezed your arm and smiled down on you. He had recently gone through a huge growth spurt, now standing at 5'9 instead of his previous height of 5'7.
"I just got here." he answered, still holding you close to him.
"What about Mikasa and Armin, did they come too?" you asked as you lifted your drink to your lips to finish the bottle.
"Armin wasn't feeling up for this scene so Mikasa is taking him home." Eren answered as he shifted his weight to prop himself up against the wall, bringing you with him. You grunted as your shoulder hit the wall, Eren let his hand slide down your arm slowly, leaving goosebumps in his wake. It had been quite some time since Eren had been to handsy with you, ever since you had started seeing Jean he had kept his hands to himself. Before you had began talking to Jean, all of your friends predicted that you and Eren would get together.
"Sounds like him." you giggled, craning your neck to peer around his broad shoulders to get a glimpse of the living room. Sasha scampered after a stray ping pong ball, loosing her footing she face planted, the sound of laughter filled the room and you smiled as you watched her snatch the ball and pick herself up.
"Yeah, I don't think Mikasa is coming back here either..." Eren continued, angling his body to block your view of the living room and redirect your attention back onto him.
"Really? Why? I was looking forward to seeing her." you pouted as you looked up at Eren.
"Where's horseface huh?" Eren quizzed, a playful gleam in his striking green eyes.
"Who knows?" you shrugged, your attention turning back to the counter where all the alcohol was. Eren chuckled and followed your gaze, he nudged you off the wall and the two of you crossed the room to get more booze. You poured out two shots of  pineapple Bacardi Eren accepted the shot glass with the most alcohol with a smile. You clinked the glasses together before knocking them back. Eren hissed as he sat the glass down, you coughed and slammed the shot glass down next to Eren's a triumphant grin on your lips.
"That was some pussy shit huh? " Eren laughed as he licked his lips.
"Yeah." you agreed. The alcohol left your stomach feeling warm, and your tongue felt numb already. Eren pulled out two more screwdrivers for the two of you and once again grabbed your bicep to drag you down the hall. You were a bit confused but you trusted Eren so you allowed him to guide you through the house, it was clear that he knew his way around. He paused in front of a door to knock, when there was no response he pushed through the door. You realized that Eren had pulled you to a den, a couple of arm chairs and a love seat. The back wall had a huge window with an oak desk. The walls were lines with bookshelves and a large fireplace that radiated heat and light across the cozy room.
"Why'd you bring me back here?" you asked as Eren dropped down on the love seat.
"There's something you should know." Eren's eyes turned dark as he leaned forward to prop his elbows on his thighs.
"Okay I'm listening..." you sank down on one of the arm chairs opposite of Eren, your mind spinning due to the drinks.
"Jean's cheating on you." Eren stated rather bluntly. You blinked stupidly at him, Jean hadn't even asked you to be his girlfriend yet, and now Eren was accusing him of being a cheater? Nah this reeked.
"Ha ha very funny Eren." you rolled your eyes and stood up, not wanting to get into this.
"I'm serious. Connie told me that he saw Jean and Marco kissing in his car after Marco's shift at the cafe." Eren pressed, reaching out to grab your wrist.
"Marco?" you whispered, everyone knew that Marco was gay, but Jean? Not that it would be a bad thing if Jean was gay but the cheating thing....that was bad. But then again could you say anything after what you had done with Levi?
"Yeah, I'm sorry but I had to tell you before things got too messy." Eren apologized as he dropped your wrist once he realized you weren't going to run.
"I mean Jean hadn't even asked me out yet so is that really cheating?" You pondered as you dropped onto the sofa by Eren.
"I don't think that's any excuse for him to be fooling around with other people while seeing you." Eren shrugged, turning his eyes to the fire instead of your face. You followed his gaze a cloud of sadness was settling above your head as you thought back to every interaction you'd had with Jean. Where had you messed up? When did he decide that you weren't enough for him? You took a long chug from your screwdriver. Eren watched you with a blank expression, his green eyes filled with pity.
"What should I do Eren." you moaned, dropping your head into your hands as you slumped forward. Eren inhaled sharply as you tried to hold back your tears.
"Well if it was me...I would confront Jean." Eren answered earnestly. You nodded and blinked away your tears.
"But how? I honestly wouldn't had known if you hadn't told me." You fretted, sitting up to face Eren once more. Eren brought his hand up to cup his chin in thought.
"Just tell him what I told you." he shrugged, clearly not interested in how this confession would affect his relationship with Jean.
"But I wouldn't want to make Jean mad at you." you pointed out, Eren scoffed and rolled his eyes at that.
"As if I care about that. Jean and I always make up." Eren replied nonchalantly. You envied him, if only girls could be as simple.
"Agh this is all too complicated." you groaned and pulled your phone out. You couldn't stay here any longer or else you'd do something you would regret.
"What are you doing?" Eren asked as he tried to peek at your phone screen.
"Calling Hange to come pick me up." you mumbled as you scrolled through your contacts.
"Stay." Eren insisted, once again catching your wrist and demanding your attention. The firelight was casting a warm shadow over Eren's angular features. His teal eyes were shining with determination.
"I really shouldn't. I don't want to do something I would regret." you sighed as your eyes flickered over his features. He squeezed your wrist and clicked his tongue disapprovingly.
"Just stay, you don't even have to see that horsefaced jerk." Eren shifted closer to you on the couch, his hand sliding from your wrist and into your own hand. Your mouth fell open in surprise, Eren usually wasn't so clingy, not even when he drank.
"Eren..." your tone was warning as he brushed his thumb over your knuckles.
"Don't leave me here all by myself (Y/n)." Eren chuckled as he licked his lips and lifted his gaze from your intertwined hands.
"Eren I-" you were cut off by the sound of your cell phone ringing. You both turned to see who it was. Eren frowned when he saw Levi's name and contact photo lighting up your screen. You answered the call and lifted the phone to your ear, grateful for the interruption.
"Hey, hope I didn't wake you." Levi greeted. You smiled at the sound of his velvety voice.
"No, not at all. I'm actually out right now." You admitted.
"Really? Where at?" Levi quizzed, you could hear the sounds of water being poured and glasses tinkling.
"Marco's." you quipped as you shot Eren an apologetic glance.
"Ah the freckled brat." Levi mused as he dunked his tea bag in the boiling water.
"Yeah that's Macro." you chuckled nervously.
"You been drinking?" Levi asked as he allowed his tea to steep.
"Uhh yeah." you admitted as you rubbed the side of your tingling face.
"Tch." Levi clicked his tongue in disapproval.
"Sorry did you need something?" you asked, Levi scoffed once more, you heard him take a sip of his drink before responding.
"No, I was just....checking up on you." Levi grunted, the last part was spoken softly, so quiet you almost missed it.
"O-Oh well thank you...I'm fine." your voice came out a bit shaky, Levi frowned at your unsteady tone.
"You don't sound fine." Levi observed, clearly not in the mood for your bullshit.
"It's just a bit overwhelming here." You admitted, not really wanting to dump your issues on Levi. Eren still had a firm grip on your hand as you spoke on the phone.
"Then leave." Levi's blunt response made you smile.
"I'm trying." you chuckled humorlessly.
"Call me when you get home." Levi grunted, before you could say anything else he had ended the call. You huffed and pocketed your phone, shooting Eren an apologetic glance before slipping your hand from his grasp.
"Sorry Eren but I really should go home." you cringed at his disappointed expression, but you knew that you needed to be alone.
"Text me when you get home." was all the brunette said before he got up and left the room. You took your phone out and texted Hange.
"Can you drive?"
"Yeah why?"
"I need a ride."
"Where are you?"
You shared your location with Hange before you also left the room, you had about twenty minutes before she would arrive. So why not knock back another shot? You were relieved to find the kitchen empty because the party had moved into the living room. You leaned against the counter as you retrieved a fresh solo cup and a bottle of Captain Morgan rum the golden liquid sloshed into the cup quickly, you scowled at the large amount of liquor and decided it would go down easier with some coke. You dumped in the soda, filling the cup the rest of the way. You took a long chug before wandering towards the living room. The room was crowded and loud, drunk teens milling about engaged in drunken conversations that they wouldn't remember in the morning. You slid your shoes on undetected and slipped out the front door. You tapped your shoe on the front porch as you looked out at the snowy trees.
Marco's house was like yours, nestled in a grove of trees with a large lawn. However Marco's house was mostly surrounded with pine trees, which were drooping under the weight of all the snow. You sipped your drink as you looked out at the quiet scenery, you tensed when you heard the sound of someone trudging through the snow. Your breath caught in your throat when you recognized Annie padding through the snow. Her cold eyes were distant, she hadn't noticed you yet. Your eyes were drawn to a small blunt that she had balanced between her slender fingers. She lifted the blunt to her lips and took a short drag. You knew little about the blonde, what you did know was that she had moved to the states from Russia when you were in middle school and that she was good friends with Bertholdt and Reiner. You tilted your head as you watched her blow the smoke out of her nose. Odd, you smiled and took a sip from your cup in an attempt to muster enough courage to talk to Annie.
"Staring is rude." Her voice echoed off the trees and the side of the house, startling you.
"Sorry..." you say meekly as you brush some snow off the porch railing. Annie scoffed and kicked a the snow in front of her.
"What are you doing out here?" you asked in an attempt to fill the silence.
"What does it look like?" she quipped as she lifted the blunt back to her lips. You chuckled awkwardly and gripped your cup a bit tighter. Annie exhaled another cloud of smoke before dropping the butt of the blunt and stalking over to the porch. She paused when she reached the top step, her eyes roaming shamelessly over you.
"You look like shit." she commented before she stalked past you and disappeared into the house, leaving you confused. You didn't have long to analyze Annie's cryptic way of conversing before Hange pulled up the driveway. You grabbed your drink and carefully stepped down the stairs and shuffled over Marco's icy driveway. You pulled the door open and climbed inside.
"Hey sweetie what's wrong?" Hange asked, her brown eyes softer than usual.
"Hey Hange, sorry to bother you. I guess it's just not my night." you muttered as you fiddled with your scrunchy on your wrist. Hange frowned but turned her attention to backing out of the driveway, throwing her hand over the back of your seat as she turned to check behind her. You relaxed into the seat, your head spinning from the alcohol.
"Erwin will want to know." Hange broke the silence a few minutes into the drive.
".....Jean cheated on me." you admitted, knowing that she would only continue to pester you for answers.
"O....kay." Hange was clearly taken aback by your bluntness. She said nothing as you knocked back the rest of your rum and coke and crushed the plastic cup.
"It's fine, I was thinking about ending things anyway." you shrugged nonchalantly as you looked out at the snowy scenery.
"Still..." Hange mumbled as she turned onto your road.
"You should know, Kenny is over....for dinner with your mom." Hange informed you, carefully choosing her words.
"Great." you huffed as you brought your knuckle to your lips and took the skin between your teeth.
".....great?" Hange was thrown off by your standoffish attitude and your indifference to being cheated on and your mother having a man over for dinner.
"Yeah, I mean this night wouldn't be complete without one more thing turning to shit." you chuckled darkly as you leaned back into your seat.
"I think that you're drunk and you need to go to bed." Hange said sternly as she pulled into your driveway.
"Me too." you agreed, your head spinning. You barely registered Hange shutting off the car and rounding the car to help you out and up the stairs into your house. You leaned heavily into Hange as she guided you through the kitchen and up the stairs, not even bothering to take your shoes off. She dropped you onto your bed with a grunt, you felt her tug your shoes off and then your jeans.
" Woah, Hange you're dating Erwin." you state gripping her wrist as she tried to lift the hem of your shirt over your head.
"Yeah I am now let me put you to bed." she was becoming impatient as she tugged your shirt off the rest of the way.
"No I....I have to call Levi." you insisted, your hand reaching for Hange's in an attempt to keep yourself grounded.
"No that's not a good idea sweetie." Hange frowned as she took your hand and helped you under the covers.
"Yes it is. He told me to call him when I got home." you stated as you tried to sit up to find your phone.
"You can call him in the morning.... not that you'll remember much of this anyway." Hange muttered the last part as she watched you pat your sheets down.
"Please Hange." you pleaded as you pawed around your messy bed.
"No (Y/n) just go to bed." Hange scolded as she stood up, subtly slipping your phone into her pocket. You whimpered as you leaned back into your pillows.
"What if he stops talking to me? We just started being friends Hange I don't want him to leave me." you whined as you gave Hange puppy dog eyes. Hange frowned, not sure who exactly you were referring to.
"Just....go to sleep." Hange sighed as she stood and crossed the room, pausing at the door as she flicked the light off. You sniffled and rolled over with a sigh of defeat, Hange's shoulders sagged with relief when you stilled and your breathing became steady. As soon as she shut the door she felt your phone buzz, she pulled it from her pocket and unlocked it.
"Did you make it?"
Her eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Levi's message. So you weren't lying about Levi wanting you to call him. How odd, Hange pursed her lips as she scrolled through your previous messages. Her eyes widened when she realized how many messages the two of you had shared over the past two weeks. What made Levi want to get so chummy with you all the sudden? She ducked into Erwin's room, Erwin rolled over in bed and sat up to see what all the ruckus was about.
"How is she?" Erwin yawned as he watched Hange pull the covers back and slip underneath them.
"Eh she's been better, but get this! Levi's been texting her, can you believe that?" Hange squawked as she held your phone up for Erwin to see.
"Huh that's weird." Erwin mused as he took the phone and scrolled through at his leisure.
"I know! I'm so proud of them, I knew that one day they would look past their differences!" Hange giggled as she took the phone back and plugged it in.
"Yeah that's a relief, hopefully they can be civil when he comes back." Erwin sighed as he rubbed a hand down his face as he reclined back into his pillows. Hange rolled over and pulled the covers up over her shoulders.
"Hopefully." Hange yawned, Erwin reached up and flicked off the lamp.
"Only time will tell." Erwin commented as he pulled Hange flush against him and nuzzled his nose into her shoulder.
______
Levi frowned at his phone, you still hadn't called or texted him. He hoped that you had made it safely back to your place, he would certainly scold you in the morning for failing to communicate with him. He sighed heavily and reached to pour himself a fresh cup of tea, the sun was casting soft morning rays across the kitchen. He dunked in a fresh tea bag, leaning heavily on the counter, although he had already spent a full two weeks in France, his body was still struggling to adjust to the time change. Not that he got much sleep when his body was in sync with the time zone anyway. He assumed that you had managed to get a decent amount of sleep since you had stopped responding to his texts and snaps around one am your time.  He frowned, catching himself thinking about you for what felt like the millionth time within the past couple of weeks. He had fallen into a strange rut, thoughts of you running rampant in his mind. He found himself wondering what you were wearing, who you were with, what were you thinking about?
Did you think about him they way he thought of you? Probably not, why should you? He was puzzled on his sudden infatuation with his best friends younger sister. At first he figured it was textbook lust, but now he was doubting that. He had lusted after others before you, but none had held his attention for so long. He scoffed at the thought, of course he would become attached to the very person who had been a thorn in his side for the past six years. Someone who he'd had honestly, little to no interest in until he was supposed to leave the fucking country.
"Bit early to look so angsty don't you think?" Farlan hummed as he padded into the kitchen still in his pajamas. Levi simply clicked his tongue and took a long sip of his tea.
"I'm not angsty, it's called thinking, you should really try it some time." Levi jabbed as he watched Farlan shuffle around the kitchen as he went about making breakfast and brewing a pot of coffee. Farlan snorted at his response, pleased with Levi's snarky attitude.
"I was thinking that we could visit campus today? Maybe grab a beer." Farlan offered as he cracked an egg into a pan.
"Hm."  Levi hummed as he stared into his dark beverage.
"You might like it, maybe enough to stay and study?" Farlan smirked as he turned to see his friend engrossed in his tea.
"Maybe." Levi agreed, images of him sitting in a lecture hall, of him up late flipping through a textbook, sitting in a cafe with an open laptop. It was a bit disturbing how easy it was to imagine a life away from his friends, away from you. He frowned, suddenly it didn't seem so glamorous, in fact it seemed lonely. But necessary, once he finished his degree he could come home, to you, to his friends. He had made a promise after all.

First and Last
“Ouch!”
“Just hold still, four-eyes!”
Levi firmly held her hand as he wrapped a bandage over it, pulling it taut against the splint he placed under her forearm.
“Levi, I have to go back, our comrades need our help down there! Seriously, I’m fine!”
“Like hell you’re fine, if you just calm down I can stabilize your damn arm, we can make it back—“ He heard the sounds of blades being pulled, and watched the steam of titan blood float past them. “—preferably alive.”
“But my squad, Levi, they need me! I couldn’t—“ She let a sharp gasp escape and winced in pain as Levi pulled the makeshift sling over her shoulder. “I couldn’t live with myself if they died just because I couldn’t stop that one abnormal titan, and got my dumb arm busted up trying…” She tried to squirm out of Levi’s grasp but he had her pinned down tight under his knees, knowing that she would try to fight with her injury.
Levi peered over the edge of the large tree branch they were balanced upon, staring at the 10m titans clawing at the base of the tree below. He turned back to Hange. “You’re lucky I even saw you and brought you up here, you idiot. Now stop moving or we’re gonna become titan shit.”
Hange hesitated, wanting to bite back the words lingering on the tip of her tongue as they were probably inappropriate for such a situation, but she couldn’t resist. She smiled up at him. “Levi, titans don’t shi—“
“Shut up.” Hange closed her eyes and let out a small laugh as he continued to tie her sling.
Suddenly the sound of Nifa’s screams echoed through the forest, which turned on the protective switch inside Hange’s brain. She began to thrash under Levi, tears beading at the edges of her eyes due to the pain of her severely broken arm. Levi almost toppled over the edge but he regained a firm grip on Hange.
“LEVI THEY NEED ME THEY NEED HELP I CANT JUST LAY HERE AND—“
Levi was overcome with frustration, and he accidentally yelled out the words that had been swimming in his head this whole time.
“Well have you ever thought that maybe, I need you?!”
Hange paused. In that brief moment, they both heard the sound of ODM gear reeling and a heavy titan smash into the ground—Moblit had taken Nifa and the two were safe.
Hange breathed a sigh of relief, and looked back at Levi, who averted his eyes from her gaze. A signal flare shot upwards, telling them that the expedition was over and it was time to swiftly make their way home before more titans appeared.
Levi calmly finished setting Hange’s splint and sling. Before Hange could sit up, Levi took his right hand, balled it into a fist, and lightly placed it over her chest, feeling her heart beat rapidly against his hand.
“I need you, Hange, okay?” He planted a soft kiss on her forehead and turned around, quietly motioning her to climb up onto his back so he can bring her down safely to the wagons below. She wrapped her injured arm gingerly over his shoulder and gripped tightly with her other arm. Nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck, she felt his locks of hair tickle at her forehead, and felt the warmth of his skin under the film of sweat on each of them—she felt right at home.
“Okay, Levi,” she whispered into his ear, the love in her heart for him laced neatly between her words.
———
“Ouch!”
“Just hold still, shorty!”
Hange held his hand gently as she wrapped fresh bandages over it—the base of his two missing fingers had started bleeding again.
“Hange I can’t just lay here forever, I need to find Zeke.”
“Pfft how dense are you, Levi? Look at your condition!” She scoffed as she placed her palm onto his bandaged chest and gently pushed him back to a laying position.
“For everyone...” he thought of Erwin, and all their fallen comrades. Their friends.
He closed his eyes as Hange’s earlier words about living in the forest together danced around in his head, the temptation of a quiet life with Hange clawing at his heart. He almost regrets not saying yes—but it wasn’t fair for him to be so selfish. As much as he wanted her to rest, he knew Hange, and he knew that she would never feel satisfied knowing that she didn’t help where she was needed.
He looked up at her, meeting her gaze. Her eyes were so tired, but she still managed to smile at him. He had to defeat Zeke. For everyone. For the small chance at a life with Hange.
He tried to stand up once again, but this time, Hange didn’t budge from where she sat on the grassy, forest floor. He wondered why she didn’t try to stop him, and why the hell she had a stupid grin on her face. He grit his teeth, and pushed himself up, limping away from Hange. He pressed on forward, though all his injuries made him feel like all his nerves were set on fire. He pushed onward, fighting for the paradise with Hange he imagined. He was maybe only 5 trees away from the clearing they had set up camp when his face suddenly felt hot and his vision began to blur—he felt himself falling, bracing himself for the extreme pain he’d feel when he’d hit the ground. But instead, he was met with warmth, kind and loving.
Hange caught him in her arms, and he felt her chuckle as his head laid against her abdomen. She carefully pulled him up and carried him back to where he was laying before. She quickly pressed a cool towel to his face, watching the wrinkle in his brow relax a little.
She ran her fingers through his hair, Levi feeling some of his pain wash away with her touch. “Figured I’d just let you tire yourself out,” she said with a hearty laugh. Levi was too exhausted to even scowl back at her, and of course, she noticed.
“Hey, don’t worry.” She rested her palm onto his cheek. “You’ll get your chance, I know it. The kids don’t need you right now, but I know they’ll need you later.” She looked off into the distance, but this time, Levi couldn’t tell what was on her mind—or maybe he was just in denial. She looked back down at Levi.
“What’s gotten into you? You know that you’re too injured right now. What’s on your mind, Levi?”
He closed his eyes, shielding the windows into his mind, shutting Hange out from reading his thoughts.
He could see it clearly, a beautiful cabin in the woods that the both of them built together. The smell of tea brewing mixed with the strong scent of pine trees hugged their noses, and the sound of kids giggling, and stomping into the home. Two little kids with messy black hair and light grey eyes wearing glasses rushed into the cabin tackling their mother to the floor. A mess of books and flowers collected from the forest were strewn all over the place, but Levi didn’t mind. He stared at her smile—her big stupid smile, and he crouched down to gather his little family into a hug.
“Levi.”
Her voice woke him from his fantasy, the scene escaping him like a lone leaf in the wind—it was right there in front of him, but he just couldn’t reach it.
She stared, head cocked innocently to the side, waiting for his answer.
And for the first time, Levi couldn’t keep his emotions in, a few tears escaping. He finally opened his eyes, letting Hange see. Hange peered into his eyes and saw his fantasy playing like a movie, vividly, right before her.
She balled her hand into a fist and placed it over his chest, feeling his heart beat against her hand.
She wanted the cabin too. Maybe… maybe they could have it after this was all over.
“You know me too well Levi, but I guess I ruined our little dream— I just can’t stay out of the action, huh?” She sighed, and laid down next to him, resting her chin on his shoulder.
“Let’s just lay here together for a bit, while we still can, okay Levi?” She pushed her lips against his forehead, leaving a kiss for him there.
He craned his neck to the right, and pushed his forehead gently against hers, and he let himself believe in their fantasy for a little while.
“Okay, Hange,” he whispered in response, the love in his heart for her laced neatly between his words.

*spoilers for chapter 126
A one shot about Armin and Annie finally having a moment after they met in chapter 126
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had to set up a camp, as the plan would start tomorrow, or at least that was what they wished, if there was anything left from the world by then anyway.
It was a relief for Armin and the rest of the squad to see Commander Hanji and Captain Levi alive and breathing, with all the disastrous shit they went through, seeing them again brought comfort to all of them, even though captain Levi was all patched up and it was a miracle how he’s still alive, and the Commander looked… fine, but Armin saw that face before, it was the same expression they showed when they were on the top of wall Maria, when Armin had just been revived and woke up, after they lost Erwin and myriad number of soldiers.
All in one blow.
But Armin thought that they had no time to get emotional, just like the day in Trost, when he delivered the news that Eren and the rest of his squad were dead, he could never forget the look in Mikasa’s eyes, when she told him it’s not the time to get emotional, they had a war to fight, a war to win.
But it was kind of tough for Armin to compress his emotions with Annie around them -now free from the crystal, she was hanging around him like they were old pals who met accidentally at a camping site at summer holiday, as if he hadn’t spent the past four years sneaking with permission from Hitch into the basement and sit there for hours, talking and ranting about everything, spending sleepless nights with nothing but the torch light and the freezing air in the basement, watching her floating in what looked like clear ice, crystal so pure like a diamond.
And now here she was, sitting with them around the camp fire as they got themselves something to eat, where they all sat, adversaries with friends, having dinner together for the first time under the starry night.
It was absurd, Armin thought, but it was what should have been done, his rational side told him that they could never take on Eren alone, and no matter how advanced Marley was, they didn’t have a chance either, basically there was no other option than combining their forces and work together, even if it was just this one time.
It was late at night, several hours after they ate, almost midnight, sleep bags have been laid, and it was silent, the crickets’ clicking piercing the atmosphere, cutting through the crisp air.
Armin curled in his sleeping bag, it was cold, freezing cold, but underneath the extra blanket – thanks to Mikasa for suggesting packing those- he felt warm. He was covered from head to toes, only eyes and nose out and he breathed in the night’s air.
He didn’t know if others were sleeping, but for him, sleep sounded like a luxury he couldn’t afford, and the other person he knew for sure wasn’t asleep was Mikasa, there was no way she could be sleeping when in the next few hours she’d raise her blade in Eren’s face, Armin didn’t feel easy about it either, but what could they do? Let him go on with his genocide plan and clap for his finally granted freedom? They had to stop him, or die trying to.
Armin sighed, his breath turning into a marginal cloud of mist, he saw it elevating and tracked it with his eyes, then he heard the shuffling of someone leaving their sleeping bag, and saw Annie standing up, and walking towards the woods.
His instincts told him to launch after her, to make sure she doesn’t make an escape, they would need her titan power in the plan, and they couldn’t do without her; they were in desperate need for as much power they could garner.
He let her go and decided to trust her, but his eyes followed her, she didn’t go far anyway; just when she passed the closest tree, she slide down and sat on the dirt, her back to the camp, facing the darkness of the forest.
He didn’t avert his gaze from her, even though something in him assured him that she wouldn’t flee. He thought how if he was watching other girls like this, he would be a creep, a pervert, but with Annie, it didn’t feel creepy at all, it felt normal, and in fact; he was used to it, just sit and watch her, like that, for hours, he had been doing it for four years.
But this time if he spoke she could hear him, and if he tried to touch her, there would be no barrier between him and her, well it’s not like she’d just let him poke at her face, or pat her head, or feeling the strands of her golden locks between his fingers, or… kiss her.
Armin shivered at the thought, and his heart sped up in his chest, pumping blood into his veins and oofff when did it get hot?
Armin unintentionally licked his lips, he had fantasized of kissing Annie, how her lips would feel against his, he thought that they would be soft and warm, she would warp her hand around his neck and step on the tip of her toes, her bangs brushing against his cheeks, then she would whisper his name and-
Armin blushed at his own thoughts and shrank on himself in embarrassment even though no one could see him or hear what was going on inside his head, thankfully.
He had many restless night, narrating a scenario after the other of how he would react when Annie would finally get out the crystal, one of them was wrapping her with his arms, and she would be shivering from the cold, the other was giving her the kiss of life as she came out of the crystal breathless, he even had one fantasy that she would break out her crystal, kiss him, and then she would just harden herself into the crystal again.
Man, his daydreaming went wild sometimes.
But all this time his mind kept coming up with these fairy tales happily-ever-after stories went straight into trash, because how in hell could he had made a scenario where the walls collapsed, Eren was the villain, and he had accidentally met Annie while she was snarfing a pie down? Four years worth of pie?
Not in his wildest dream, nope.
But putting all that to the side, there she was, a few feet from him, and all the I’m your knight in shining armor fantasies coward into the shadow, and now that this was actually happening in real life, he realized how absurd and out of the world these fantasies were, how in hell would Annie just accept his opened arms? Hell, she might punch the shit out of him, probably hang him on a branch with only his underwear on, and let him freeze until dawn break.
So, Armin peeled off the blanket, took a deep breath that froze his lungs, clutched the blanket in one hand, then took steady steps towards Annie.
Armin stood right beside Annie, he could see her profile, and she didn’t even acknowledge him standing there, did she just ignore him? Or did she candidly not notice his presence? Which was weird compared to Annie’s sharp senses.
Armin took the few steps that separated them, and as gently as he could, draped the blanket on Annie’s shoulders, which was, after he had already done it, a bad choice.
Annie flinched at the feeling of something on her back, she collected sand with her hand and throw it at whatever was behind her, this could get her some time until she was on guard and took her stance-
Oh.
“You.” She breathed, her heart racing in her chest from the adrenaline rush, and she felt the cold air penetrating her lungs with every short, ragged breath she took, then she let out a long shuddered exhale as she slanted against the tree’s trunk, closing her eyes, while Armin was spitting dirt and his eyes tearing to weed it out.
It’s just him, Armin.
She had no idea for how long he had been standing there, but she knew that she almost kicked the shit out of him. Annie focused on her breathing, taking bug gulps of air, then letting it out slowly, concentrating, ignoring the baffled Armin who stood there after the tears and the coughing ceased.
Armin stood there ignorant to what he was supposed to do, the blanket was on the ground beside Annie, should he just leave it there and get back to his warm sleeping back and act like nothing ever happened, or should he try again, or maybe he should just keep standing still and make more of an idiot of himself?
The third option is what he went along with.
He waited for Annie, to do or say anything, and he hoped she’d do it soon before he turned into an ice statue.
Annie, without opening her eyes, reached for the blanket, wrapped it around herself and nuzzled her face into it, “Thanks.” She said, her voice muffled by the blanket over her mouth.
“Y-yeah, sure, I thought that it was really cold out h-here, you know, so I thought you’d use a blanket, that hoodie w-won’t be enough.” Armin swallowed, “not that I can decide that on your behalf, you know, who am I to say?”
Annie kept her eyes closed.
Armin felt like an idiot.
He slapped his forehead, sighed a very I’m-such-an-idiot sigh, and turned around before he embarrassed himself more than he already did.
“Armin.”
He halted in his tracks, thought that he had imagined that call, but when he turned his head to look at Annie, she was already observing him, with that bored expression of hers.
“You c-called?” Armin stuttered, and he blamed the cold, and to demonstrate, he hugged himself and rubbed his arms up and down his biceps, cold, you know?
“I did.”
“Oh.”
A beat of silence.
Armin waited patiently for whatever was waiting for him, but his pessimistic side screamed that she’s going to tell him to go fuck himself and never show his face ever again.
“Do you, um, have a moment?” Annie said slowly, stopping mid-sentence, contemplating whether she should keep going or not, her hesitant tone was an enough boost for Armin to let out a “Yeah sure, what is it?” in one go; seeing that Annie was nervous too made this, somehow, easier for him.
Armin sat crossed legged in front of Annie, who had her knees hugged to her chest, her face half covered in the blanket, her hair messy and her eyes looked tired even in this darkness. He didn’t prompt her to start, he sat there, waiting her to take her time to say whatever she wanted to say, whenever she wanted to, zero pressure.
Annie kept looking at everything but Armin; her eyes wondering a tree on the left, or a stick on the right, or just staring up at the leaves above her head that concealed the starry sky from her, seeking stars between dewy leaves. After she inspected everything around her, the only remaining thing she didn’t look at was him.
She took a deep breath.
“The only thing I wanted was to get back home.” Annie started.
Armin’s eyebrows rose the tiniest bit, he didn’t expect her to say anything like that…. Nah, the guy was clueless, he had no idea what to anticipate.
“I didn’t kill anyone because I wanted to.”
Armin eyebrows furrowed having an idea where this was going.
“I didn’t enjoy it either, I just didn’t care, I mean back then, I didn’t even get myself to care, I was selfish, I just wanted to get done with the mission and go back, I don’t have much years left-”
“Annie.” Armin shuffled closer to her, trying to make her stop.
“I just want to get back to him-”
“Ann-”
“And live a normal life, for a few years, in a home with someone I genuinely care about.”
Armin raised his hand, hovering over her knee for a moment, testing the water, when Annie didn’t kick him, he rested it.
He didn’t squeeze, rub or anything, he merely covered it.
Annie went silent, she didn’t know why she blurted out that to him, or why would she want to tell him, or if he wanted to hear it in the first place, but something was nagging her, like a needle twining at the inward of her skull, that she should get this off her chest or she might shatter and explode.
And they might die tomorrow.
Annie’s eyes looked straight into Armin’s, and she absorbed how blue they looked, they were glittering, their blue hue looked as young as they did when he glared at her from the bottom of the stairs, just a few minutes before she cut herself off this living hell.
And she was fifteen again, looking at him from across the training ground, being tossed over by Bert in hand to hand combat, and when Bert apologized and offered his hand to help Armin up, he would  reject it and stand on his own, with a purple, swollen eye he would take his stance again, and wobbly charge at Bert, then he’d faint the moment he hit him, and Eren would be called to get him to the infirmary.
He had always been the weakest, the most fragile of them all, his physics hadn’t much change since he joined the military, but Annie grew up knowing that muscles weren’t a candid scale for strength and never would be, she was like that herself.
But now she looked at someone different, changed from the outside, taller, but not like the others, muscular, but not rugged like the others, handsome, but not like the others.
Because he was who he was, his own person.
And he was different from the others.
That what made him Armin.
And they kept eye contact, memories flashing from their pasts, their eyes held so much, had seen so much, it was unfair; from all the people in this world, why did they have to be the ones to go through this?
Annie was the first to break eye contact; she buried her face into the blanket and said, her voice muffled: “But… I’ve been thinking about it…” Armin kept looking at her “and I know that I’ve committed irredeemable sins, I know that, and I’m aware of it.”
“You don’t have to talk about it.” Armin said, he lifted his hand of her knee and continued: “we’ve all did horrible, horrible stuff to this world, to ourselves, and we’re responsible about them.”
Armin’s words weren’t much help to Annie; she shuffled in her place, her arms rubbing her body under the blanket, huffing out a breath, and listened; it’s not that she expected him to hug her and whisper in her ear that it’s not her fault, and that they were forced to do it, were controlled by others at a time when they couldn’t object and say no, but of course he wouldn’t comfort  her like that, he was sensible, the big head, the righteous Armin she was familiar with.
“But what had been done can’t be erased Annie, and I’ve… I sometimes, you know, at night when I can’t sleep, I wonder if I hadn’t joined the training corps from the very beginning, and spent the rest of my life farming or something,” It was Armin’s turn to rant for a bit, even though she had already heard what was he about to say countless times; these sleepless night he spent thinking, he was in the basement, sitting a few feet away from her, thinking out loud “maybe have a family at some point, I don’t know, just what would have happened if I didn’t follow Eren and Mikasa into the military, how things would have turned out?”
“You think you could’ve made a family? You think any girl would have fallen for your scrawny body? Sheesh, sweet dreams alright.”
“Ouch Annie, that hurt…”
“Oh don’t fake hurt, you wouldn’t believe it anyway…”
“Huh?”
“There was a girl you had fallen for a few years back, right? What her name was? Yeah right, Maddie, she worked in the closest bakery to the barracks, didn’t she? And her hair was brown-”
“Alright so first of all I didn’t fall for her,” Armin found his hand in front of his body, defending himself, a victim who was accused of a crime, “she came to me one day saying she had those butterflies in her stomach when she sees me or something…”
The corner of Annie’s lips twitched in a smirk, her trick worked flawlessly fine on him, and she affirmed that he didn’t know yet.
“Wait! You were… you were conscious, all this time, Annie, how, why, oh God” the unforeseen realization swathed him, swept him of his feet, and he slapped his forehead “God, why haven’t I thought of that before….”
“I can black mail you any time, just so you’d know.” Annie threatened.
“Ugh.” Armin grunted, rubbing his forehead; it stung him where he slapped himself.
“Who knew you were that talkative? You didn’t shut up for four years straight, neither did Hitch…” she looked at him, and he was blushing, she thought he looked adorable when he was abashed, “your tales were more fun though, all Hitch did was complain about some guys or work or something.”
“Huh, thanks I guess.”
“I’m glad you talked to me, Armin.” Well that certainly grabbed his attention, he looked at Annie through his fingers, “it got me to know the walls better, I mean what happened from your point of view, it made me… understand things better.”
They sat in silence for a while, neither of them talked, looking at each other from time to time, or just stare at anything surrounding them, each of them lost in their own worlds, which happened to collide at one point; both of them stared at each other for so long it felt like eternity, and that was when they leaned in…
Annie was lost in her thoughts, she didn’t realize she was leaning into Armin, she felt a magnetic energy emitting from him, so strong and clear, drawing her to him, and she was attracted to it, moving towards it. His eyes were half lidded and so were hers.
Armin leaned towards her too, glancing at her lips then back at her eyes, and his heart picked up its pace, it was beating so fast he could feel it banging against his ribcage.
Armin shuffled closer to Annie; their faces were a few inches apart.
And that was when something shouted in Annie’s brain, waking her up from whatever she was trying to do. With a gasp, she started and flinched away from him, and that started Armin too.
“God, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, Annie I didn’t mean to-”
“Cut it, I was as dumb as you.”
Armin did cut it, he didn’t discuss any further, and he froze in his place, now that he was a little bit closer to her, and he should probably back off, but he didn’t; he was hoping Annie would say something; anything, he didn’t want to get back into that sleeping bag just yet, he didn’t wanna leave with such an awkward goodnight-see-you-tomorrow, besides, he had so much left to say.
He didn’t dare utter a word, it hadn’t been five minutes and he had already messed up twice; first startling her and eating dirt as a reward, second, he tried to kiss her, right there, ‘hey it’s been four years, yes, let’s make out!’
The more he thought about it, the more heat ignited in his cheeks and in the top of his stomach so he buried his face between his knees, his fingers knotting on top of his head ruffling his hair.
“Aren’t you freezing?”
Now that she mentioned it, Armin couldn’t feel the tips of his toes, “Uh, yeah kind of.” He said to his shoes.
When he had raised his head up to look at her, she had already lifted the end of blanket; prompting him to share the blanket with her.
Armin could decline her offer, wish her goodnight, and go to sleep, and everything would be over, but he wanted to sit close to her, to actually feel her flesh heat, not an icy crystal… he wanted it so bad, so he crawled toward the open invitation, and sat beside Annie, covering both of them with the blanket, the warm soothing his muscles.
Shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh, they sat there, their breathing mixed, and Armin felt like he could fly.
He couldn’t believe that he was under a blanket with the person he stared at for the past four years, and that she’s legitimately accepting it.
Annie rested her head on Armin’s shoulder, and closed her eyes, she obviously wasn’t going to sleep, but she wanted to reserve this moment of peace before whatever trouble the next day held for them.
Armin tensed when he felt Annie’s head leaning on his shoulder, but peering down at her face that showed serenity made him at ease, tranquil once again, and before he knew it, he ever so gently placed his chin on the top of her head, then he unintentionally sneaked his arm around her waist, and she welcomed it.
Warmth enveloped them, and it was most likely not from the blanket itself.
“Have I told you that you look handsome in that undercut?”
Instead of blushing or panicking, Armin surprised himself when he replied with: “Yeah I know.”
And he earned a marginal chuckle from Annie, a little vibration of her body.
He dramatically gasped and said: “I’m so offended.”
“No I’m not laughing at you.” Annie defended herself, “it’s just funny how all of you had changed, even Connie, that dwarf, look at him, I mean look at how tall he is, and then there’s me.”
“Well you didn’t leave any room for yourself to grow, I mean, was it too compressed inside that crystal?” Armin reasoned, even though he really wasn’t serious at all and wasn’t looking for an answer.
“God, I know, alright?” Annie resented.
“You’re even in the same cloths from years ago, literally-” that earned Armin a not-so-playful nudge at the ribs.
“This shit is nasty, I should’ve asked for a change or something.”
Then they fell silent again, now that they were in each other embrace, they didn’t want to ever forget this moment; they might not get any other chance in the future to be this close to each other.
“Annie…” Armin called out after a while, checking if she had fallen asleep, but she hummed in response.
Armin didn’t feel the words roll off his tongue, “You’re actually a good person.”
Annie huffed and told him to cut the bullshit.
“No, I’m being dead serious.”
“Why would you say that now? Couldn’t find a better moment to ruin?” The last part of that stung Armin, then Annie tried to stand up, but Armin’s arm around her kept her on the ground and wrapped more tightly around her.
“Listen to me, would you?” Armin requested, his voice calm.
“I’ve been listening for the past four years!”
“Well then you wouldn’t mind an extra few minutes, would you?”
Annie didn’t answer, but she bounced her feet on the floor a few times, and that was enough for Armin to continue: “You fought for what you believed was right, you didn’t fight for Marley, nor did you fight against Paradise, all you’ve ever wanted was to get back to your father, your family, and that’s an adequate reason to fight for.”
Annie kept quiet, looking forward, not showing any emotions on her face.
“If I still had my grandfather, I would have fought the whole world to stay by his side to make sure he’s well…” Armin looked up, his eyes chasing the stars, he hadn’t notice that it was a full moon tonight, it gave him warmth, sort of, he didn’t notice when Annie started wondering his face, “I would have done what you’ve done Annie, a soldier motive to fight is complicated, not anyone can understand it, it’s too personal.”
Armin thought of Eren, what was he fighting for? Was it actually freedom? What about Mikasa, why is she still fighting until this day? Connie, Sasha, Jean? What was keeping them going forward, advancing with all they’ve got, putting their lives out on the line?
Was it worth it?
Warm fingers grazed his cheeks, turning his head, and when he looked at Annie, her lips were a few inches away from him, and they looked so… inviting, he noticed that her eyes were fixated on his lips, and his heart started racing.
The way the moon light lit her profile, made a halo around her face, her hair looked so silky and soft soft soft, he wanted to run his fingers through it, and he did, only with the tip of his fingers, he caressed the locks that covered part of her face, twirling them at the end before putting them behind her ear, and she leaned the tiniest bit into his hand, rubbed her cheek on the inside of his palm, soft against calloused, just soothing each other in the perfect amount, giving each other the suitable quantity of warmth and care in a time where they both were hungry for some comfort and affection.
Annie’s heart was speeding up, but she felt calm at the same moment, she couldn’t remember a time when she could actually feel comfortable and safe in someone’s embrace without kicking them, she had always been aloof, distant from everyone, this was a whole new experience to her, and she liked it; the coziness she got from Armin’s simple gesture was… lovely.
He leaned a little bit towards her, and she was craning her neck up, he glanced at her lips, and she glanced at his eyes.
Armin hesitated for a few seconds when he was so close to her lips, he could just lean in a little bit more and he can kiss her, feel her lips on his, and she shared the same desire as him, both wanting each other. Annie’s eyes were already closed, and Armin pondered her face for a moment longer before his eyes fluttered closed too.
It was a chaste kiss, only a brush that lasted a few seconds long, a sensation new to both of them.
A brush of lips that made shivers travel down Armin’s spine, he had never experienced anything like it before, the rush of heat, the sudden intangible enthusiasm he felt, and he melted, in his mind he picture his body turned all wobbly, rickety before it started dripping until he was nothing but a puddle on the ground. He hopped that Annie felt the same, she must have known how Armin was boiling beside her; he felt his cheeks burning, at any second Annie would startle and draw back, blowing on her fingers.
But she didn’t, because she thought she’d burn Armin’s cheek to a char under her blazing fingers.
Blue moonlight immersed them, and at that moment, clouds covered the sky; securing both of them from prying stars.
When they pulled apart, Annie’s cheeks were dusted with a blush, and with the way she looked at Armin, he most likely looked the same.
Then Armin smiled, a whole heartedly smile, and Annie smiled in return, she even let out a quite chuckle, she felt happy, he did too, the world was ending, but at that moment everything was just perfect.
Annie nuzzled her head closer to Armin and rested it on his shoulder, sighing a content sigh, and closing her eyes, then Armin planted a soft kiss on the crown of her head, he didn’t even hesitate or think about it; he just did it, then he rested his head on top of Annie’s, and closed his eyes.
  BONUS:
Mikasa was watching Armin getting up and going after Annie, she knew this was going to happen sooner or later, “The Reunion”, she tried not to get the past events from judging Annie too harsh, however, she still had doubts about her, and rejected the idea of her helping them, but she also trusted Armin, and Armin trusted Annie.
She closed her eyes, even though she knew she couldn’t sleep, she just wanted to get alone with herself, to get some time to think, to ponder the crisis they were in, to ready herself for what was to come the next day.
She didn’t know why she brought the scarf along with them…
Mikasa thought of Eren, 15 years old Eren, with passionate eyes and ruthless demeanor, she replayed memories of them together, the training, and the next few months after Trost battle…
She wondered why did Armin believe Annie wasn’t a bad person? Why would he have faith in her? Not just a faith, a strong one, one you can sniff from miles away.
But then, Armin is a titan shifter, and titan shifters have access to their past holders’ memories, right? If Armin saw Annie through Bert memories, if he saw what the trio had to go through, what their lives were like in Marley, maybe he understood Annie’s actions, Armin was a rational thinker, he must’ve viewed everything objectively…
Mikasa opened her eyes, it was her turn to check on the fire and make sure to add wood to it, but her breath hitched at what she saw; Armin had his lips on Annie’s, he was kissing her. She didn’t see them fully, only Armin’s head and half of Annie’s head mostly covered by a curtain of her hair.
Mikasa turned in her sleeping bag, she wanted to give them privacy, she wasn’t a pervert, stalking others personal moments.
Then the tips of her mouth twitched and she smiled, curling further into the blankets, she was suspicious about Armin’s personal feelings towards Annie, and what happened just confirmed them.
Well, what could she say? The past is in the past, she thought, and if that makes Armin happy, then she would be happy too.
Her mind to travelled to what Eren would have said if he saw Armin and Annie too…

Red String
Levi x Fem!Reader soulmate AU
AN: You drink tea and whatever other drink the way I do because I don’t like holding things by the handle! I just have a couple fingers go through the handle to actually hold the cup/mug.
----------
Living in the Underground Levi only followed the string that was connected to his left pinky finger once, only to stop when it went out of the whole where Isabel, Farlan and him would star gaze. After that he gave up on it since she was above ground while there was a slim chance that he would ever get out.
Although when Levi, Isabel and Farlan were taken by the Scouts he noticed his string got smaller, but still never followed it. It was something that was important to him at the time.
----------
Knocking on the wooden door you waited to be called in. Hearing the faint ‘come in’ you entered. Saluting you greeted the commander. “At ease (Y/N), I need you to go check on how the recruits training is coming along,” Commander Shadis said looking up from his stack of papers. “Do you want a report on all of them or just the new ones you mentioned before sir?” you asked dropping your salute. “Watch all of them, but specifically a report on the three new ones. The training commander is aware that you will be coming,” his intense eyes locked with yours. “Understood sir.” Dismissing you, you left to gather your belongings and saddle your horse.
“Hey (Y/N) where are you off to?” Erwin asked seeing you saddle your horse. “Commander Shadis asked me to do a report on the new recruits, I’ll be back in a few days,” you looked at him giving him a small smile. “Of course you’ll do well, you always do,” the tall blonde looked down on you and pat your head which you swatted away. “Don’t miss me too much blondie,” you teased getting up on your horse. “What am I supposed to do without you shining personality,” Erwin laughed shaking his head. “You’ll live... maybe,” you smirked at him, “now I suggest you move unless you want to be run down.” Laughing he held his hands up and moved away from your horse watching as you took off.
----------
It was early afternoon when you arrived at the training camp, dismounting you were greeted by the commander. “Ah (L/N) you have finally arrived,” saluting the man you greeted him. Calling out to a cadet he had them put your horse in one of the stalls. “So sir, who are the news ones I was told about?” Sighing the commanding officer rubbed his neck, “One is hyperactive, the other is willing to work, and the other doesn’t tolerate anything or anyone.” “Oh... well this will be an interesting few days,” you adjusted your green cloak as you walked across the training grounds.
----------
Hearing the sound of a horse entering the camp many recruits stopped what they were doing to see who was coming. Having the horse quickly come out of its gallop pebbles flew out in multiple directions and then walked further into the camp, eyes turned their attention to the green that flowed out behind the rider.
“It’s a scout!” multiple voices stated from different areas of the grounds like wild fire. This caught the attention of three people who were sitting under a tree. A pair of steel blue eyes watched with slight distaste at the scout, but that soon changed ever so slightly when he noticed where his string lead. The damn thing he avoided paying attention to was now connected to something he longed for and hated. Watching as you walked into the building with the commanding officer he looked away.
What bothered him, although he didn’t let it show, was that you didn’t look once at where the string was leading.
----------
“You can start your evaluation and training tomorrow morning.” “Understood sir,” you saluted and exited his office. Walking to where you were told you would be staying you opened the door and took off your cloak, but left your jacket on. Deciding you still the majority of the afternoon left you grabbed your ODM gear to train yourself.
Walking back out into the courtyard you didn’t acknowledge any of the eyes that turned towards you as you walked away with your gear strapped on to the forest. As they say perfect practice makes perfect.
Stopping before the tree line you felt the smallest pull on your left pinky finger and looked down at it flexing it slightly. Following the string you saw three people sitting under a tree they happened to be watching you, giving them a small smile you took off into the trees.
----------
“They seemed nice, right Levi?” Isabel nudged him with her elbow. “We don’t know anything about her Isabel, all she did was smile in this direction,” Farlan told her. Although to a certain male he noticed the way you looked down at your left hand before slowly looking towards their group. The three turned to observe your ODM skills. “She has a really pretty attack pattern,” Isabel commented watching as you twirled and flipped through the air cutting through the foam neck of the dummies. Farlan nodded his head, “I wonder how long she has been a scout, it’s almost like she is dancing while using her gear.” Levi couldn’t take his eyes off your form as you landed on a branch, his eyes just slightly wider than normal as he stayed silent.
“What do you think Levi,” the taller man looked down on the leader of their group. Steeling his face Levi looked away from your figure, “She is an idiot scout, the reason why we are stuck in this situation anyway.” Walking away from the clearing Levi headed toward the mess hall. Isabel and Farlan shared a look before following behind him.
----------
Calling it an evening you walked back to get a quick shower in before eating and turning in for the night. Once cleaned you put on a plain grey shirt and your uniform pants to get your food. You didn’t bother sitting at one of the tables with the rest of the recruits just wanting some time to think about the new information you got today.
Taking your food outside you sat on the steps a few feet away from the door. “So they are here...” you murmured to yourself picking up your tea from the side of the cup. Unbeknownst to you there were three sets of ears listening to what you just said, and it meant more to someone in particular. A small head of red hair peaked around the corner and couldn’t help the snicker that fell past her lips and was immediately shushed by the blonde. “They hold the cup awkwardly like you Levi!” Isabel whispered only to get shushed again.
Not turning around you called out, “If you’re trying to collect information you need to be quieter.” A startled gasp was heard before it became a sheepish laugh, followed by what sounded like someone slapping the back of a head softly. Just from what you could hear you knew that was at least two people. A set of footsteps could be heard walking in your direction and taking a seat a little ways from you.
“Hi! I’m Isabel Magnolia,” you were met with a bright set of emerald eyes and equally bright smile. Reaching to take her hand you introduced yourself, (Y/N) (L/N).” Raising your voice a little you gave a devious smile to the girl, “To the gentlemen behind the wall it’s nice meeting you too!” The bundle of energy next to you couldn’t hold back the laughter as one man came out sheepishly rubbing his neck and the other had an indifferent look.
“The blonde is Farlan Church and the grumpy one is Levi Ackerman,” Isabel filled you in. “Ah, nice to meet you both,” you gave them a nod before returning to looking up at the sky. You now knew who you were connected to, but still haven’t made a comment on it and neither did the person you now know as Levi.
“Sorry for interrupting your evening,” Farlan said taking a seat next Isabel propping an arm on his knee. “It’s fine, I was just thinking about what will be happening these next few days,” you stated setting your cup down. Levi’s eyes went to your hands a saw the string still connecting both of you but also the fact that Isabel was right, you do hold a cup awkwardly.
----------
You listened to Isabel and Farlan tell stories of the Underground and they asked you questions about things outside the walls. During this time Levi watched your face and noticed that there wasn’t a single shred of judgement when they told stories from the Underground. Your eyes and smile caught the stoic man’s attention the most, they radiated a sense of hope but also calmness that he wanted to fall into. Noticing his gaze was on you you gave him a small smile, and Levi’s eyes grew a fraction larger but it wasn’t very noticeable.
Rising and dusting off your pants you smiled at the trio, and a lingering gaze on the man connected at the end of the string. “Don’t stay out too late you three, I have large plans for tomorrow,” you smiled one last time before taking your things back into the building.
----------
“So... is that her?” Farlan gave Levi a knowing look. “Yeah, yeah that’s her,” Levi breathed out. “Is that what you expected?” Farlan pressed a little further. “I don’t know what I was expecting. I haven’t ever given the damn string thought really,” Levi looked down and flexed his pinky finger.
----------
After breakfast you grabbed your ODM gear again and met with the recruits. “Alright recruits,” you eyed all of them who were lined up, “grab your ODM gear and get the tree line.” Leaving them to get their gear you waited and stared into the forest. Hearing the clanking of metal and multiple footsteps you turned around and eyed everyone again checking their gear. Satisfied you explained the exercise to them and their personal goal for it. Most of the recruits saluted you and took of into the forest other than the trio.
Turning with a raised eyebrow you looked at them, “Yes?” Farlan and Isabel looked at each other before taking off on their ODM gear leaving you alone with Levi. “Why haven’t you mentioned it?” Levi walked up to stand next to you. “I will tell you that story tonight Levi, for now join the others in training.” Not liking having to wait for the answer but relenting he was about to take off you stopped him, “and Levi, bring your ODM.” Nodding he took off following the others.
----------
After dinner you grabbed your ODM and walked to the edge of the clearing and waited for the dark haired man. “Alright I am here, what couldn’t you tell me earlier?” Smiling mischievously at him you turned and flew off. “Damn it,” Levi huffed rolling his eyes and following after you.
Flying through the trees you landed at a higher branch that over looked a lake, and waited to see if Levi would find you. Not long did you have to wait since you heard the whirring of the ODM gear. “Alright I played your game will you tell me now?” Levi walked towards you and just for good measure put both hands on your waist to keep you from leaving again.
“When I was younger before becoming a Scout I tried finding the end of the red string,” Levi nodded starting to understand where this was going. “When I couldn’t reach the end I decided to join the army, I didn’t think I would ever find the end of the string,” you held up your left hand and wiggled your pinky, “so I didn’t pay much attention to it after joining the Scouts and sometimes I’m surprised I have made it this long.” Levi stayed silent as you told him everything.
“I’m glad I found you though Levi,” you touched your forehead to his you smiled. Levi, a man who didn’t appreciate contact from people, didn’t pull away instead a smile ghosted over his lips as his hands held you a little tighter.
“I’m glad I finally found you,” Levi whispered as if talking any louder would ruin the moment. Leaning away from him just enough to see his eyes you smiled, “I am too.” “I won’t let you go I promise,” Levi only let out sentiment because it was you, his soulmate. “Never let me go,” you whispered pressing a small kiss to his lips and he hummed lightly before you pulled away. Grabbing your left with his you both watched as the string around your pinky fingers changed into a red tattoo and the string disappearing.
Flashing a mischievous smile you twirled out of his hands taking off through the forest. Laughing slightly and shaking his head, “Get back here brat!” He jumped off the branch flying after you. “Catch me first Levi!” your laugh echoed off the trees.

oh, yeah, i'm sorry, i kinda forgot~ you can do it with levi and erwin maybe??? thanks again, i'm sorry~
no need to apologize! I should’ve given a little message along with the post, my fault really lol
To put it better in describing what the campsite is like, it’s like the infinity sign with one loop belonging to superiors and the other loop belonging to cadets and yourself.
Warning: Cursing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The soft crackling of the fire hummed throughout the small temporary camp, Levi and Erwin had decided to bring out the cadets and some squads on a little field trip if you would call it that. Hanji even tagged along for the fun of it, the night sky reigned from above accompanied with small twinkling stars, light grey clouds dusting the sky as the warm light reached outwards towards the tall trees in all directions, luckily you had found a nice clearing in the forest and told the superiors of your finding, the clearing had two main ends and in the middle it thinned to a big enough trail so you could see the other half of the camp’s fire and tents. Those lucky higher-ups of yours had the choice of bringing portable chairs so they wouldn’t have to sit on the ground or a tree stump, tents surrounded the campfire facing in towards it as the higher-ups sat around it chatting to themselves while keeping an eye on you and your friends that pranced around your own campfire singing wild campfire songs that the elder people had to put up with.
Singing your hearts out with a joyful smile you were following Sasha around the blazing campfire accompanied by Connie and a few others making up some random funny songs to sing while you skipped along in single file. ‘’The wheels on the cart go ‘round and ‘round! ‘Round and ‘round, ‘round and ‘round! The wheels on the cart go ‘round and ‘round all day long!’’ Sasha suddenly began making a few others which sat down watching you laugh and cackle. ‘’The horses of the cart go neigh, neigh, neigh! Neigh, neigh, neigh! Neigh, neigh, neigh! The horses of the cart go neigh, neigh, neigh all day long!’’ you chimed followed by your chorus of childish giggles after taking a glance to the superiors camp to see most of them watching in amusement, Hanji was nowhere to be seen until you felt hands claps on your shoulders followed by that same familiar snicker of the woman.
‘‘The Levi on the cart goes clean that shit! Clean that shit! Clean that shit! The Levi on the cart goes clean that shit! All day long!’‘ she laughed causing you all to burst out laughing at her input and nearly end up in tears and almost stumbling into the fire from laughing. Everyone broke off and sat down around the campfire tittering and telling jokes, Hanji sat beside you and joined in with your group and slung an arm over your shoulders ‘‘say F/N, if the commander and Levi were to ask you out.. who would you go with?’‘ she smirked deviously earning a confused look from you along with tinted cheeks ‘‘uh- I don’t know.. I’ve genuinely never thought of that before, plus why would they like me? I’m only a cadet remember?’‘ you attempted to jog the woman’s memory as her auburn eyes shone an unfamiliar glint in them for a second or two. ‘‘Well you know because-’’
‘‘L/N! Your turn! Come here, you idiot!’‘
Huh?
Turning around you blinked in surprise from seeing both of the higher ups you were just gossiping to Hanji about stand behind you with their 3-DM Gear on. Levi shot Hanji a quick glare before resting his gaze on you again, Erwin gestured you over with a faint smile towards the ready set of gear on the forest floor ready to be strapped onto you. Quickly excusing yourself from Hanji you hopped up and joined the two intimidating males with a salute and questioning gaze. ‘’We’re going for a quick training session in the dark, examing each cadet in the night to see how good they would be flying at this hour. Christa had just returned and now it’s your turn’’ Erwin explained as Levi huffed before picking up one of the holders for the blades and gas canisters and strapping it to your hip as you began with the other one. After a few moments of making sure everything is secure you watched as Levi nodded ahead of you ‘’head straight forward and you should arrive at a lake, we’ll be behind you got it?’’ he scowled seeing you flinch somewhat before reluctantly nodding and setting off the next second.
‘‘You’re only after her for her appearance..’‘
‘‘The fuck? Shut it eyebrows, it’s sick to know you think of me that way’‘
‘‘All you say is things about her physical appearance, I hope you know she has a personality and feelings too Levi.’‘
‘‘Don’t think I know that you idiot, listen, don’t think I see the way you look at her-’‘
‘‘Hey guys! It’s been like five minutes since you’ve started arguing and F/N is well gone from here!’‘ Hanji’s voice interrupted the two as they looked at her for a few moments, Levi’s eyes grew a little wider after a second of realization before he disappeared off into the dark forest soon followed by Erwin leaving a giggling Hanji by herself.
You had arrived at the lake nearly fifteen minutes ago and now you were huddled up with your knees to your chest shivering due to the crisp night breeze sending unpleasant shivers down your back.
Did they lose you?
 Did they just want to get rid of you?
What if they won’t find you?
Squeezing your eyes shut from the thoughts you sniffled slightly, the cold air turning your nose a bright red. Of course, you had to be that idiot and forget your Scouting Cloak back at the camp. The moonlight shined and glimmered down onto the calm water of the lake, small ripples spreading across the surface with every hint of wind that appeared every now and then. The sudden sounds of grabbing hooks being retracted and the thud of something landing on grass from behind you made you jump somewhat. The soft crunching of the grass slowly came closer to you before you felt a light, dark green cloak being gently put over your shoulders. Stepping around to kneel in front of you Levi crouched down and clipped the cloak shut over your chest before returning his orbs back to your own. ‘’Didn’t know where you disappeared to, sneaky little shit aren’t you?’’ he tried to lighten the mood whilst rubbing your forearms in an attempt of warming you up.
‘‘F/N are you alright?’‘
You heard Levi growl and mumble a quiet ‘fucker..’ under his breath as he helped you up to your feet. Erwin jogged up to you two as Levi quickly hoisted you up in a bridal style hold, squeaking a little from the embarrassment you subconsciously wrapped your arms around his neck causing a smirk of triumph to toy at Levi’s lips towards Erwin. Clicking his tongue Levi took a glimpse to you before disappearing leaving a very frustrated and irritated Erwin by the lake.
Astray | Levi x Modern Reader | Part 1
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 |
Request: Hey, do you do AU’s? Idk how this’ll go but can I request a Levi x Reader where the reader is like from our times? Does that make any sense? ;;
This is my fifth time attempting to post this and I’m so Fucking frustrated. If this doesn’t post I’m gonna s c r e a m
A surge of cold air woke me from my uncomfortable slumber making me turn on my side in an attempt to get comfortable and fall back into a peaceful sleep. I stir and reach my arm out in an attempt to pull my quilt over my cold body but to my dismay, I was unable to find it. An unamused grunt escaped my tired lips as I kick my legs around in another unsuccessful attempt to recover my seemingly missing quilt. I tiredly sigh, propping myself up with my arms. As I pushed myself up I didn’t feel the soft material of my mattress underneath my arms, but a hard, rough surface that did not resemble a bed in any way. Befuddled, I opened my eyes. I’m forced to shut them again as my eyes were greeted by a startling and most certainly unwelcome bright light.
Another cool breeze sent shivers down my spine, hitting me with a new realization. Was I outside? I open my eyes again, slower to assure that I don’t hurt my eyes once more. Once my eyes adjusted and my vision cleared, I was greeted with a view of rolling hills and trees, none of which were native plants.
Where the fuck am I? How did I get here?
My mind raced with unanswered questions. I was confused and scared, unable to recall just how I got here. Had I slept walked? No.. I doubt it. Not only am I in the middle of nowhere, but if I had slept walked I would have crossed a few people who would have woken me up. Not only that, but the trees and wildlife are ones I either don’t recognize or are not native to where I’m from.
I stand up on my shaky legs and stretched my tired limbs. My bones ached from the uncomfortable ground I had been lying for god knows how long. As I stretched I looked around once more and tried to think of my options. When I was younger I was told that if I were ever to get lost, I should stay right where I was until help arrives. Somehow I don’t believe that situation would play out well here. Heck, I doubt anyone even knows I’m missing or where I might be. My second option is to start wandering around until I find someone who can aid me. Right now, option B seems more promising. Unfortunately, I don’t know where to start looking.
There are no roads to follow, nor are there any significant landmarks. For miles, all I’m able to see is rows of tall grass and a forest up in the distance.
Maybe if I’m able to climb a tree I that forest, I’ll be able to get a better view of my surroundings. Of course, that's if I’m able to climb one of those said trees. Although the forest is distant, I can tell they’re incredibly tall, but right now that forest seems to be my only option.
My feet drag along the floor, tiredly walking towards my destination. I reach for my pockets out of habit, resting my hand on a thin hard object.
My phone! I quickly pull it out, but disappointment washes over me once again as I look into the left-hand corner. “No Signal”
Well shit. There goes any hope I had left.
The forest wasn’t too far off now. The trees are huge with giant branches reaching in all directions. The forest is densely packed with other trees, making it difficult to see through. I gazed back up at the trees and sigh. Theres no way id be able to climb one of these. Ive never seen trees so big in my life! My posture falls into a slouch, wondering around the outskirts of the forest looking for a promising tree to climb. To my dismay, I find nothing.
My hope slowly fades along with the setting sun. If I’m unable to get a grip of my surroundings I might as well find a place to camp out the night before it gets dark. Just as I’m about to start walking off I hear a noise. Unsure of what is was or where it’s coming from I pause to listen. I hear it approaching me. The sound resembles thunder, but there isn’t a cloud in the sky so I highly doubt a storm is approaching.
I spin my body around, facing the direction I determined the sound was coming from. I could see horses running in my direction, upon them were people who looked to be wearing green cloaks. Odd choice in clothing I must say, but I wont question their fashion choices just yet.
A sigh of relief washes over me. Finally, People! I frantically wave my hands in the air out of desperation. My arms droop sightly from my exhaustion as I weakly call out to the strangers ahead of me.
I see them start to slow as they approach me. Without thinking I took a few steps towards them as they came to a halt. They all seem to be wearing some sort of uniform. Brown jackets matched with green cloaks, knee high boots and a generous amount of straps wrapped around their bodies.
“Whats your name, How did you get outside the walls?” A stern voice rang through my ears. I looked at the man who was addressing me. He was sat onto of a white horse, looking down at me with confusion and what looked go be suspicion. His icy blue eyes glared at me in such a way, I was immediately intimidated. Not only that, but his eyebrows were also quite intimidating and… prominent.
“I’m (Y/n) (L/n), I don’t know where I am or how I got here and uh, what walls?”
Whispers soon spread like wild fire around the others as all eyes were on me.
“Her clothing is odd. Is it possible she Isn’t from here?”
“Someone from outside the walls? Is that even possible?”
The blond man on the white horse helps his arm up to signal silence. Immediately everyone quieted down, focusing on me once more. I felt small and helpless as everyone around me glared down at me.
“Where are you from?” He questioned.
“I’m from (City)… Sir” I added the sir in a questioning manner. I’m not too sure how I am supposed to be addressing this man. He obviously holds some sort of superiority, so based purely on that I address him with formality.
He raised an eyebrow at my response.
“And where might that be?”
“(Country), Sir.”
“Where is that located?” What the fuck? Its a country. Hasn’t this man ever taken a geography class?
“I’m sorry sir, I cant say… The middle of the ocean? Is a country located near (Neighbouring countries). I’m not that skilled in geography”.
Again, my answer had many shocked. Whispers soon started to circulate once more.
“D-did she just say ocean?’
“Whats a country?”
“Ocean? So you mean the theories are true?”
“Erwin” A new voice made its way into the scene, catching my attention. A man with black hair dressed the blond man who spoke to me earlier as Erwin. I kept a mental note of his name in my head. “We’re taking this girl with us”
“I agree. Miss (L/n), do us a favor and Kindly come with us. We have a few questions we need to ask you.
Ocean Talks
Attack on Titan. Levihan. Angst. Humour. Fluff. 2996 words.
You can also read it here.
Summary: (Takes place after chapter 90). It's been a year since the majority of the survey corp were wiped out in Shiganshina and Levi used the injection to save Armin and Erwin died. Now they've finally reached the ocean. Despite the celebration, a sobering truth hangs above them: many people have died to get them this far. That night the survey corp camps outside the walls for the first time. Hanji and Levi have the heart-to-heart that they have evaded since the injection on the roof. A surprising guest interrupts their conversation.
Ocean Talks
Gathered inside a ring of stones sticks and dry grasses were gathered. They were charred black and the remaining embers glowed against an inky sky dotted with twinkling stars. The moon hanging in the sky provided the only light and cast the ocean in a ghostly tinge. The whispered conversations had long burned out as the campfire did. The constant drumming of the waves rising and falling along the shoreline lulled the survey corp members lying by the fire to sleep.
However, Levi was wide awake and couldn’t sleep. He laid on a blanket covering the ground, arms propped underneath his head as he listened to the breathing of the kids around him: Mikasa slept like a soldier, rigid and quiet. Connie talked in his sleep and Levi could have sworn he heard him call out to his mother at one point. Eren and Jean snored – even while sleeping they seemed to be in competition with each other. However, lately the spark had left Eren’s eyes and it wasn’t as easy to rile him up as before. Everything was hitting him really hard.
It was hitting everyone hard.  All the kids had been through so much – too much.
A lot had happened in a year. The survey corp had culled all the titans and had reached the ocean. It was a victory hard won, but the cost was huge. Nearly the entire military had been lost in that one battle. New recruits, veterans, Hanji’s assistant Moblit, and the Commander of the Survey Corps: Erwin. To top it off, after reaching the basement, they learned that unknown enemies lay across the ocean. The cage was bigger than they thought. And they were in more danger than they had ever imagined.
A gentle breeze carried the salt from the ocean in the air to Levi, which made his nose wrinkle. He looked over to where Hanji was perched on a rock, boots removed with her feet dangling in the water. It was her idea that they take shifts to keep watch in the case an abnormal titan found them that they might have missed during their purge.
Although he could not see her face, he could tell by the arch of her back and the way she leaned forward, elbows resting on her knees, that she was deep in thought.
Mindful not to disturb the sleeping bodies he maneuvered between them, pushing arms through the sleeves of his jacket. His boots kicked up rocks as he approached the rock.
Hanji heard him come up behind her, but didn’t lift her head or meet his gaze. She already knew what expression his features would be wearing.
Levi stood directly behind looking at her back. He folded his arms. “If someone had told me last year that we would be sleeping outside the walls by the ocean tonight I would have told them they were full of titan excrement”.
Hanji nodded. Her eye trained on the horizon where the sun had sunk behind the edge of the water hours before. “They’re all sleeping soundly I take it?”
Levi grunted in confirmation.
Hanji moved her feet in circles watching the water ripple around her ankles.
Levi clicked his tongue. “Stop overthinking things. I can tell you’re holding all the responsibility on your shoulders.”
She straightened her spine. Those eyes always saw right through her. Levi never wasted any time getting straight to the point, but that was one of the things she liked about him after all. Still, she went for a casual tone in response:
“Carrying all the responsibility comes with the territory of the job I’m afraid.” Hanji tugged on the crest that hung around her neck that signified her position as Commander and allowed it to fall to her chest again.
“As stubborn an asshole he was, Erwin always had someone to talk to even if I had to kick down a locked door just to get him to tell me what was going through his mind.”
Hanji half grunted, half laughed. “Fine.” She shook her head, but still kept her back to Levi.
The emotionally charged scene on the roof came flooding back to her: The traitor Bertolt laying with his limbs reduced to steaming stumps as he cried for his life, pleading not to be eaten. Armin burned so badly he was unrecognizable as charred skin flaked off in the slightest breeze. His wheezing was burned into her memory. Erwin, her leader, and dear friend miraculously returned to the roof on the back of the new recruit but barely breathing. Somewhere inside his chest his heart still beating. Then there was Levi looking like a corpse himself: covered in dirt, sweat, and evaporating titan blood. In his hand, was the injection that could save one person’s life.
Hanji took off her goggles and combed her fingers through her hair before resting them beside her. She finally turned to face Levi, her voice low, pensive. “Why?”
“Why.” He repeated.
Levi knew what she was asking. It had been a year and they had never talked about what happened. Since that day, a tension slowly wedged between them, making it so they hadn’t talked like before. Before her presence was big and loud and the space at his side belonged to her. Since the roof, they looked the other way when their eyes met, and preoccupied themselves when they were in the same room. The quiet had been draining him. And he hadn’t even noticed. It was empty and pointless without her going on long winded tangents. Or fiddling with some trinket. Or reading a book, her mouth moving just as fast as the pages flipped by.
Hanji continued, ripping Levi from his thoughts. “Erwin trusted you with the injection, so by default I did – do.” Hanji pressed a palm into her good eye. “I trust your decision. I do. But because of that, I haven’t allowed myself to question it, but…” Hanji looked up and held his eyes and for the first time in a year, he couldn’t avert his gaze. Levi could only remember one other time when she looked like that – when she had told him about how titans had ruined her life – killed her family and her best friends.
“I know I need to hear ‘why’ from you.”
On that roof, he had made a decision that she hadn’t agreed with. She had never hidden her opinion and even told Armin she believed Erwin should have been saved. He hadn’t saved one of her last friends. And right after losing her entire squad and Moblit. Could she ever forgive him?
Of course he knew why he had saved Armin instead of Erwin. Every day since it happened the whole situation had played over and over in his mind until it was raw. His choice. Why he didn’t regret it. He had to have a reason because on restless nights Erwin’s ghost wordlessly asked him the same question with unblinking eyes. Yet, confronted with Hanji’s question hanging in the air it was hard to articulate an answer, and all he had done so far was stall. So, he opened his mouth.
“You are completely right. Erwin,” the named weighed heavily on his tongue, “was a great leader and no one can replace him. Shit, I would have followed that man into the jaws of a titan if he ordered me to do it for the good of humanity.”
Levi’s mouth dried up, making his tongue stick to the roof of his mouth. Words came out in scrambled spurts.
“Erwin was tired, broken and because of that he wasn’t laying his heart down for humanity. To fulfill his old man’s dreams, Erwin wanted to reach the basement no matter the cost-” Levi paused, as words abruptly left him. They always did. He adjusted his sleeve cuff. “That bastard was a great Commander and deserved to pursue selfish desires more than anyone else.”
Levi intimidated people: his eyes too sharp, his words too rigid. But no matter how strict, crude, or uncaring he came off Hanji always understood exactly what he meant. Levi was completely exposed in front of her no matter what he said. So right now, he wouldn’t hide anything from her.
“In the last moments, I convinced him to give up his selfishness and give his heart once more to humanity. He died as valiantly as he led the Survey Corps.”
Ocean waves crested on the beach. Hanji’s hair blew about her face.
“Hanji, seeing him there on the roof, I saw an opportunity for him to escape all this. It was my. Fucking. Selfish. Desire. To finally let him rest in peace. I couldn’t bring him back to the front of this war. This shithole. To give him that burden again.”
“Fuck it all.” Levi had no idea if he made any sense, even in his own mind his words seemed convoluted, jumbled trains of thought.
Levi looked back at the campsite. He could make out the individual lumps of bodies that slept. “Armin is not a fighter, but he has given his heart for humanity. He has laid his life on the line many times. Erwin saw the potential in him to be a leader and I see it too. His brain, his intuition, and his dedication can be given in service to humanity.”
Hanji turned around to face the ocean, absorbing everything Levi had said. She thanked him, her heart lighter than it had been in a long time.
“No,” Levi thought back to the past year of them avoiding each other, “I should have talked to you about this sooner.”
“It’s alright Levi, I’m sorry about avoi-”
She heard a squeak, then a thud.
She swiveled around to see Levi meters away from the spot he was standing in mere seconds ago, a rock poised in his hand and aimed at that spot on the ground. She followed his narrowed eyes. In the sand, a small creature’s spindly legs poked out of a shell. Beside it was a rock lodged in the sand that she now realized was the source of the thud, which meant that the squeak had been…
“Levi! Was that sound you?”
His eyes wide he said, “it crawled over my foot!”
“It won’t hurt you! It’s only a horseshoe crab!”
“EXCUSE ME!? You’ve already named it?” His head jerked between Hanji and the vermin. He had never seen this creature before in his life, and neither had she.
Hanji burst out laughing then slapped hands across her mouth, he didn’t want to wake the kids. Between waves of giggles, she managed to say, “it had the nerve, no the audacity to touch Humanity’s Strongest!?”
“Are you shitting me right now shitty glasses? First, you are willing to touch those slugs that came out of the water, and now you’re naming these ugly things?”
By this point, Hanji had lost control of her laughing but eventually invited Levi onto the rock. “Come up. They can’t climb.”
“No way! I’m going back to stoke the fire, that’ll keep these water bastards away!"
Hanji sucked her bottom lip, “Levi, in your hand.”
The so-called rock he was holding sprouted legs and was wiggling. Levi dropped it faster than Hanji had ever seen the grown man move before. He leapt onto the rock.
“Welcome!”
Propped up on one knee, Levi leered over the edges. “Fuck, I’m stuck here now.” He narrowed his eyes, “They’re watching me.”
Laughter was bubbling within her again, but she pushed it away, instead she said, “they’re probably thinking that you’re their long-lost land cousin – you’re short enough.”
Levi’s features knit themselves into a full-fledged scowl aimed right at Hanji. He reached his hand towards his hip only to remember he wasn’t wearing his gear. “Hanji.”
“Yeah?” He was so serious, she could barely keep from bursting out laughing again.
“Kill them for me.”
“I would never!” She said feigning a gasp.
“Then throw them back into the ocean, or put that thing back where it came from, or so help me!”
She shook her head, sure to exaggerate. “I’m your overarching leader now. You actually take orders from me.”
Levi wasn’t listening. He was spiraling. “That water is fucking nasty, and the things you and the kids were pulling out of it! You all just jumped right in, splashing around! What if you contracted some disease?” His voice pitched on the last word.
“If that happens then I’ll just have you take care of me.”
“There’s something seriously rotten in your brain if you think that would ever happen.”
Hanji tapped the crest.
His mouth dropped. “That’s a blatant abuse of power.”
Another roar of laughter erupted from her and Hanji fell back on the rock, her hair splayed out about her face.
“What’s with that loopy grin plastered on your face?” Levi said into his knee as he drew one towards his chest.
And just like that. They slipped back into their usual rhythm. It was as if the past year hadn’t been spent evading one another or dodging conversations. It came easy as if that wedge of tension had never been there. Her smile was infectious, and the corners of his mouth pulled towards the sky as if controlled by strings held by her. Again, the space beside him was filled with her boisterous presence.
She was much more relaxed now, and it wasn’t like he had done anything for her, in fact-
“Hanji, I’m sorry about -  everything.”
She boosted herself on her arms. “I trust you Levi. I always have. Always will.”
Levi’s eyes were trained forward, on the same horizon she had been looking at before.
“We’ll never know which choice was better,” she said. “You can only make a choice you will not regret. Isn’t that what you say all the time?”
Levi turned his head. She had forgiven him.
“Armin and the kids are the future.” She continued, “We have to do everything we can to make sure they see that future.”
The future. “What about the 13 year ultimatum for shifters?”
“I’ll figure out a way to reverse it. I have to.” She leaned forward.
Levi thought back to the night before the mission to Shiganshina to visit Eren’s basement. He overheard Armin, Eren, and Mikasa talking. They were filled with hope and love for one another. A makeshift family he didn’t want to see broken up.
“Those three.” Hanji poked his side gently. “Eren, Armin, Mikasa…they remind you of a similar trio?”
“Farlan and Isabel.” Levi unconsciously rubbed where she had poked, “I miss them."
Hanji touched Levi’s hand. “I do too.”
Levi gently wrapped his hand around her fingers and brought them to his face. He pressed her fingertips against his lips. Hanji reached forward with her free hand and traced her knuckles softly against the side of his face.
“You miss people too.” Levi breathed. He was still holding her hand.
Hanji shifted in her spot and rested her head on his shoulder.
She pointed at the stars. “My father told me that people we love watch us from the stars. As a woman of science, I don’t believe it true. But on days like this, I want it to be.”
“Why can’t it be?” His chin was lifted towards the sky.
Hanji stretched her hands out, releasing a kink in her back. “You’re right. They are watching us from the stars. Farlan, Isabel…” She pointed to a pair of shimmering silver stars.
“…Moblit…” Levi nodded in the direction of the brightest of stars.
“Pastor Nick.” Hanji pointed to a star that was surrounded by a cluster of others.
Levi scanned above. A light streaked across the night sky.
“Erwin.” They both said in unison.
Levi squeezed her hand.
Hanji nudged his neck with her forehead. He moved his free hand to hold her head against him and brushed fleeting lips to her forehead.
Hanji breathed in deeply his scent. His smell was one she never wanted to forget.
“You’re peculiar.” He said, his face stoic.
Into the dark hours of the night, Hanji and Levi named fallen comrades, family, and friends while pointing to stars that they must be watching from.
---
Hanji opened her eyes, the sun was coming up behind them. She had fallen asleep and her head was in Levi’s lap where he was absentmindedly working fingers through her hair undoing the knots then braiding strands together while watching the waves churn in the ocean.
Over the edge of the tall rock, she could see a swarm of crabs.
“They must like you.”
Without as much as a glance in the sea creature’s direction, Levi responded with his classic glare.
Hanji rolled her body and slid off the rock to move the crabs. She didn’t miss Levi’s look of repulsion and smiled to herself in spite of it. She stood before him as he sat on the rock eyes following her. Positioned like this he was a little taller.
“I removed all the unsightlies from your sight.” She took a shallow bow, “am I your knight in shining armor?” Levi responded by places the goggles back on her head.
“Screwball scientist matches you better.”
“I don’t know about that, I think Knight in-”
He leaned down to kiss her.
His lips tasted like the salt air. “Will we be ok?” Hanji spoke against his lips. They had promised each other to take care of the kids’ future, but what about theirs’?
“We will protect each other.”
Hanji kissed him back.
Hanji offered him a hand off the rock. He ignored it and landed on the sand beside her.
The sun was spilling pinks and oranges over the landscape when they walked back to camp, where everyone else was beginning to stir and greet the day.
A/N
Chapter 90 took a headshot at my emotions! It was so bittersweet, beautiful, and awful. That one-year time skip leaves a lot to be imagined until we get a chapter focusing on the main cast again.
Now that they have reached the ocean we can finally have canon based fics with romantic walks on the beach and I'm excited for the cheesiness that opportunity brings!
Dad!Levi x Mom!Reader ~ Run
Warning: Cursing, Violence
Summary: The Inner MP's are out to get you and your family, but you manage to escape and meet up with Levi and the others
A/N: I'm really excited for Aot this year I got a feeling it's going to be l i t xD Season 3 kinda inspired me to write this soooo... Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Earlier today you were handed a leaflet whilst out shopping for your two children and it sent terror and fear through every bit of your being.
The Survey Corps was being hunted by the Military Police and Government, and it said how Erwin was planned on being executed publicly for anyone who wanted to watch. Of course you knew there was some drama going on within the Regiments and the king but you didn't know it would escalate this far. What shook you most was that every member of the Scouts was being hunted and once they were captured they would eventually be hung after Erwin.
Every member.
This included your husband Levi Ackerman.
He and the others were considered criminals so they were on the run, of course you couldn't see Levi for a while because he didn't dare want to endanger his family and drag them into the civil war and possibly get you all killed in the process.
You weren't a member of the Scouts anymore due to being pregnant on your first child 4 years ago so you were sure you were off the list of the people 'wanted'. But you couldn’t help but worry for your husband and your friends, you hoped they would all make it out alive.
You weren't a fan of the Military Police to begin with, in fact the only person you could get along with from the Regiment was the Commander, Nile. He was a decent guy but every soldier after him made you want to vomit.
You knew the Inner MP's weren't after you or your children but something kept itching at you to run and hide, dismissing the thoughts every time but how you wished you didn't.
And here you were now..
// First Person \\
I ran as fast as I could, gripping onto both my daughters' hands, Rose and Isabelle. Their little legs running as fast as they could with fear playing on their face. We were out shopping for some groceries and to see if there was any news about the Scouts, fortunately no other scout has been captured which was good. Yet, we came back to our cozy little home on fire and being destroyed by a bunch of Inner MP's, swiftly turning away I held on tightly to my daughters' hands and ran. Though my luck was against me as I heard masculine shouts and yells coming from behind me, looking over my shoulder I saw three of them chasing us with guns.
Swiftly turning a corner I dived into an alleyway before sprinting out the far end and continued running. If it had to come down to it I would lay down my life to protect my two precious girls if there was no other way.
Dashing through the streets I tried my best to ignore the shouts and curses the MP's directed to us. "Mommy! Why are they after us! We did nothing wrong!" Rose said forcing a brave face yet she was trembling on the inside, panting I glanced down to my youngest "don't worry you two! We'll lose them eventually you just have to keep running and stay with me" I mustered a small smile down to each of them. "They're the pigs you and dad bitch about.. we can fight them" Isabelle, my oldest stated making me violently shake my head "no you will not young lady! You hear me! Keep running!" I scolded her turning another corner and continued sprinting down another street.
I was too lost in thought until I immediately skidded to a stop, a river in front of us where each wall and district used for transport and fishing. Gulping I quickly looked around hoping for any way to escape, turning around the MP's finally caught up before they began to pant like dogs. Scurrying the two girls behind me protectively I glared at the pigs "what do you want? Why did you destroy our home!" I shouted to the three men who only laughed in response. "We came to take you in, even though you haven't been involved with the Military for a few years but oh well! Isn't your luck just bad?" one of them mocked before chuckling cocking up their guns to us making me go pale and try shield my children as much as possible.
Next second I see two familiar figures pop out of nowhere and knock out the three MP's immediately, the center one stood there shocked and scared. Noticing the two figures as my dear friends Hanji and Moblit I sighed in relief as Hanji punched the remaining guy in the face before knocking him out as well. "Y/N are you alright?! We saw you running from them and we knew you were in trouble!" Hanji said walking over to me as I approached her letting go of my daughters' hands as they stood next to me "yeah I'm alright thank you Hanji, you too Moblit I was sure they were about to fucking kill me!" I say running a hand through my hair. Hanji placed her hand on her chin in thought "why were they after you? You're not in the Scouts anymore so why would they try to kill you and your children?" she asked in thought. "I don't have a clue, I was out getting groceries with Rose and Isabelle and when we saw our house it was set on fire and was being destroyed by those pigs, that's when they started chasing us" I tell her as she nods. "They are probably wanting to use you and your kids against Levi and us" she said before she sent a sweet smile to the two girls. "Anyways! How have you two been! You're both so cute!" she grins making me chuckle. "We've been alright Aunt Hanji, thanks for saving us" Isabelle smiles back as Rose shyly nods.
"Section Commander what will we do now?" Moblit pipes in confusion, Hanji hummed while she thought before she glanced to me. "Do you want to stay with Levi and the others? It's not safe for you three to be with us while we're going back and forth from Erwin to Levi so we can bring you to Levi, you'll be safer with him" Hanji says as I nod in agreement "Alright thank you Hanji" I smile to her as she nods in response.
// Time Skip \\
Hanji and Moblit led me and the girls through a tall grassed plain, the moon was out and there were a few trees ahead of us. I could tell there are some figures in the distance in the trees but I discarded them as parts of the trees. Until we finally arrived.
"Hanji who did you brin-" Levi's voice pierced the air but he suddenly stopped, seeing me and his two daughters cling to me tiredly. "Y/N what in the fucking world are you doing out here?" Levi asked glancing between me and the girls. "Me and Moblit managed to save her in time, seems like the Inner MP's are after her as well" Hanji informed looking down to the two humans who yawned. "Hi daddy.." Rose muttered trying to keep herself awake Levi nodded down to her as Armin and the others stood there in silence looking at us. "Y/N when did this all happen?" Armin softly quizzed, my exhausted gaze floated to the young boy before I let go of Rose's and Isabelle's hands leaning against a tree. "This morning, I brought them out to get some groceries but when we arrived home those pigs had the house set on fire and had destroyed it and everything inside of it, that's when they started to chase us" I tell him hearing Levi growl in anger "fucking bastards... First they try to hunt us down like animals then they go after my family.. Shitty pricks" he frowns at the thought.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, looking up to Mikasa who shot me a sympathetic look "you should get some rest... You've had a tough day and I bet they're gonna drop any minute now" She spoke gesturing down to the kids who kept rubbing their eyes. "Yeah me and Mikasa can show you where everyone sleeps so you three won't be alone for the night" Sasha chirps attempting to lighten the mood, sighing I nod as I follow her and Mikasa off behind a few trees. Rose and Isabelle trailing behind.
"What will we do now? The MP's are after Y/N and your kids, we can't just make them follow us everywhere we go they'll get hurt" Hanji says to Levi who growled in frustration "I'll fucking kill those pigs.. Trying to murder my family? I'll strangle them to death" he said with anger seeping from his being.
I laid against the trunk of a tree as my youngest, Rose cuddled into my side asleep. Isabelle was sleeping on a branch above us so I knew she would be alright. Soon enough Jean, Sasha, and the others started to arrive back at the small camp which was situated near a little river. Resting an arm behind my head I looked up to the stars as I was surrounded by my friends who slept quietly. Feeling Rose cuddle into my side more I gave her a gentle squeeze, hearing a rustling of grass behind me made my heart thump loudly in my chest as I held Rose tighter to myself.
Soon enough I saw my husband walk around the tree looking down to Rose and I, kneeling down to us Levi's gear rattled quietly "did they hurt you?" he asked resting his elbow on his knee delicately fixing a strand of hair out of Rose's face and behind her ear. "No we're alright even though Isabelle threatened to fight them" I chuckled at the thought of it as Levi shook his head smiling lightly "where is Isabelle?" he asked whilst his gaze flicked around the area, I only pointed upwards to the branch above us as he looked upwards seeing one of Isabelle's arms hang off the edge of the branch in a deep sleep. Levi clicked his tongue taking off his gear and placing it next to us, laying down next to me he wrapped his arms around me and Rose and snuggled into my neck. "I missed you three.." Levi mutters into my ear dotting my neck with kisses "missed you too... When I first saw that leaflet of scouts being wanted it scared the fuck out of me" I lean into Levi's chest.
"Yeah... But those shitheads need to learn to draw right" he joked making me giggle remembering the shitty sketch someone did of him. "How have you been anyway? Are you alright?" I asked Levi who nodded humming quietly as silence overcomes us. "Now.. you've been traveling all day.. go to sleep" Levi said right before I yawned. "Heh... Alright sir I'll go to sleep" I smirk playfully to Levi who nips my neck for teasing him making me squeak.
"Love you Y/N"
"I love you too hun.."
