so as you probably have guessed, yellow room is the tdf gc winner’s room. i tried to write this fic for many cycle prompt tuesday and/or to1u prompts (“new”, “color”, “yellow” and another one that i can’t disclose because it would spoiler it) but couldn’t finish it in time for any of them…

curiously, this time it’s not (only) the smut that is giving me a headache, but the characterization of jonas. so my take here is a jonas who 1) dislikes the concept of the winners room, even though he usually doesn’t mind doing it with tadej; 2) just lost the tour de france and is not in a particular good mood.

(spoilers for the fic-that-probably-will-never-be under the cut)

i envision it as a established relationship, but am still unsure if that will be clear from the get-go or if it’ll be ambiguous at first and later revealed. i would love to write it as ambiguous but the main thing for me is the conflicted feelings of being happy for someone you love winning x feeling bad for yourself losing at the same time — especially in the context of being the “prize” for said win.

here tadej has it all; and just wants to keep it light and fun and celebrate his win with his SO. but even though jonas is trying to give that to him, he is struggling. here’s a tiny snippet:

so, the trouble here for me is how to write a jonas who is understandably frustrated at the race result without making him a little bitch about it, because he’s also really trying to be there for tadej. aaaand how to write a tadej that is trying to be patient with jonas’ frustration but who at the same time just really wants to celebrate his deserved win with his loved one.

i have no idea how to write this.

(also, i can barely look at it since the crash and the current uncertainty of jonas riding tdf, so there’s also that.)

so they all met about two years before this story starts because they all went to the same college.

jontein and fina started dating about a year after they met. they hit it off the first week she joined an art club and snarked it up as usual.

viran and karel hated each other at first, that much is true; however, after two separate incidents unknown by anyone else that involved mutual life-saving, they became more along the lines of vitriolic best buds (one of my favorite tropes from tv tropes tbh).

dallona’s entrance into the group was much different than the others. you’ll see some of her story later.

rikando and maronia have been best friends since before kindergarten; they were childhood neighbors. they met aven in first grade, and the three of them have been absolutely inseparable since then. maronia met norandina when she was on vacation one year, and she introduced norandina to everyone else the following year.

seth and marco met around fourth grade and were instantly joined at the hip, despite the fact that their personalities are almost total opposites.

kat is an... interesting case. you’ll find out more about her next chapter.

BUT YEAH i did get that all the time omfg "ur so mature for ur age!!" like thanks it's because i have issues and problems 💀....hmm i hate reality tv HAHA. this gc i'm in was just talking abt wife swap the other day how crazy !! idk if i've EVER liked reality tv .... i like watching commentary abt it (like uhh cody ko's stuff) but watching it myself... nope😭. daily things lets see!!! i went to the baltimore aquarium:) i was exhausted tho. saw that a tiktoker i like (hello fem will graham cosplayers...) went there a few days before me. how funny! i wish we had met and fallen in love or something. i went to bed at 5pm yesterday and slept til 3am. then went back to sleep from 6am to 10am. i think my new adhd/anxiety meds are the cause. sadly. cuz they work! but by making me too tired to be nervous or start thinking too much🥲. i'm tired 24/7 already and thats not helping LOL! i had this fancy meal ok multiple fancy meals and it was really nice. i got chesapeake chicken (haha like chesapeake ripper am i right?!?) and it had crab but i'm crazy i'm crazy i didn't eat the crab. the texture was soooo bad. anyway at another place i got a burger bc i'm lame i don't eat seafood (besides shrimp. which i am allergic to.) and i ate almost the whole thing and my friends mom said she was proud of me😭❤️. i always feel so guilty after eating a lot and that made me feel good. i've started watching more vampire video game play throughs. what can i say. vampire masquerade: bloodlines did something to my brain where i like vampire games now. it's the same guy which is cool. i dont like finding new youtubers becuz i've never kept up w whose problematic or not... like what if i get really into someone and mention it and someone's like oh yeah he preys on women. wtf. like umm cry? is he a youtuber? is he evil? cuz i was looking for a pathologic gameplay and he had one and i was like hmm... he sounds familiar. he has probably done something ? maybe? mm lastly.... i read this hunger games hannibal crossover WEEKS AGO but it's just still on my mind. i don't particularly love the hunger games but it's only bc i don't really know a lot abt it. i enjoy it but i've only seen the movies and read the first book (until rue died. never picked it up again after that! i cried a lottttt) and there's like an absurd amount of hannibal crossovers. i guess bc hannibal would totally rule in the hunger games. like come on a CANNIBAL? the uh.. capitol? they'd go crazyyyy for that. the fic itself wasn't even that groundbreaking or anything i have a lot of criticism for it tbh but it opened my brain to the concept. i have another one opened in a tab but it's super long so i haven't made much headway. i want one where it's like.... the one where the old winners come back for a game! and then they escape😈. but in the one i read will and hannibal sort of just escape anyway in a normal hunger game. like ok cool but i don't think that's plausible. but then how would it work ? like could will win a game on his own? maybe i should write my own fic. but then i'd have to understand what happens in the hunger games /j. ugh ok i was thinking abt that one scene where idk they do the little hand signal thing and drag katniss away and go to shut the door like right as they shoot that guy in the head. THAT WAS SO CRAZY. or when katniss shoots the lady instead of president snow and then everyone just descends on him💀 i feel like there's a level of nuance and understanding that i just don't have so i say "woah! cool :)" i hope ur doing well too ily❤️❤️💗

Monty: Creativity: 7 Effort: 10 Overall Appeal: 7 DAMN video editing is HARD SHIT! and you killed it! its a little unfortunate that youre not the only one who did an intro because its knocking some points off of creativity for me just bc there were two of yall doing the same thing, and its easier to directly compare the two and be more critical. BUT all that being said it was a fun intro and i liked the mixing of videos of all of you and your avatars to give it a nice little tumblr survivor flavor

Monty: Creativity: 7 Effort: 5 Overall Appeal: 5 nnnnnnnn i like the idea i really do with the norse gods (i sure hope theyre the norse gods) with all of your faces of them. because this was a god-tier season and you all belong on those faces, but the execution just...wasnt there. the faces on faces is fine and fun, but the little things, like the title, extra care to match up the faces 100%, and a border or something could have made this SUPER good and on par with the others. but this is final four! you've gotta be thinking about all the little details all the time and this is fine, but especially when compared to the other three its quite a bit of a dip

Monty: Creativity: 9 Effort: 10 Overall Appeal: 10 this, overall, is my favorite. its clean and simple but obviously drawing all of your avatars is hard work and it shows really nicely. it almost looks like it dips into tribe flag territory, but if it was it would be one kick ass flag. its a great celebration of the final four, clean work, and if someone made me in one of those, id be super flattered
