BUT. i Do think that he wouldn't be mean n would help u study because it means you're trying to not be an idiot and his whole shtick is trying to make people less dumb. ykwim. i might've projected a littol bit... times r tough what can i say <(ㅍ _ㅍ)> cw: blurb/headcanon format (?), hurt/comfort technically because ratio is a little mean. it's not that bad tho trust, university setting includes: gn!student!reader, professor!veritas ratio, can be read as either platonic or romantic (or favoritism lmao) wc: 1k

One look at you and he could tell that you hadn’t slept properly in God-knows how long, that you hadn’t eaten a proper meal in just as long, and that you had the drive to study, but for a reason unknown to you, simply couldn’t. Or, at least not in a way that made you retain the information you tried to hammer into your brain. 

-ˋˏ You'd sit there; hands folded in your lap, eyes refusing to meet his, silently waiting for him to say something, anything lest you implode on the spot. Ratio would gloss over your notes, eyes lingering on the little doodles of yourself you drew in the margins of the page with a little speech bubble saying ‘help’ right above it, and would hold in a sigh. Crossing his arms over his chest he would lean back in his chair and tilt his head, burning holes in your skull until you lifted your head up. He wouldn’t say a word, he’d be as patient as he needed to be, waiting. 

-ˋˏ When you finally looked over at him you swore you felt your heart drop to your ass (how long had he been staring?) as you forced yourself to not grab your stuff and dip. “Um-” you started speaking but he promptly shut you up by interrupting you with a question of his own; “Do you honestly think you can study adequately in such conditions?”  

-ˋˏ (Of course he’d notice, you scold yourself internally. There’s no way to successfully hide the dark circles under my eyes.) 

-ˋˏ You’re taking way too long to answer, too absorbed into your head to speak, and it’s starting to get under his skin. His frown seems embedded onto his face, the absence of his plaster head making you quiver in fear from the sheer amount of frustration he must feel because of you. Unfortunately, you’re nowhere near as observant as he is— because if you were, you would have noticed that his frustration wasn’t aimed at you, but at himself. How did he let it get this bad? He’s supposed to be a teacher, and teachers are supposed to care for their pupils

-ˋˏ (It might seem like he couldn’t give two shits about his students, but he does care— in his own harsh way. He considers kicking people out of his class a blessing; if he didn’t care about their wellbeing, he would have let them stay and feel stupid as well as let them be completely overwhelmed as a result of not understanding the content of his lessons and the workload he assigns. Of course, he doesn’t want people to drop his class, but if that’s what it takes for people to not go insane then so be it. He’s made peace with it.) 

-ˋˏ “When was the last time you were able to sleep for longer than eight hours consecutively?” he asks, intense gaze unfaltering as your eyes dart all over his office in a poor attempt at avoiding the inevitable. Finally, you look at him sheepishly, and mumble a number that was far from satisfactory in his books. He clicks his tongue and unfurls his arms, grabbing your books strewn across his desk and shuts them, sliding them over towards you. You sit, puzzled and flustered that you’ve gone all this way just for him to kick you out. If he was going to be an ass, he should have just dismissed you as soon as— 

-ˋˏ “Your assignment is to get a good night’s rest. Do not come into my classroom if you haven’t slept for 8 hours minimum. If I see you work dark circles as prominent as the ones you have right now, I’ll drag you to the nearest bed or couch myself.” 

...Can’t say you expected that kind of response. 

-ˋˏ You can’t even get a word in before he beats you to it, already knowing what you were about to say. “I’ll let you retake the exam if I deem your health to be unacceptable when you arrive in the lecture hall for the exam.” You shut your mouth, unsure of what to even say in response. You really felt like you were being scolded. 

-ˋˏ He would gladly help you study when you come back looking (and feeling) refreshed, though. Not that he’d show it with his body language, but his actions said everything. He’d bring energy bars for you to snack on while he explained material you struggled with, would be patient when you’d ask seemingly dumb questions (one time you asked him why he hadn’t kicked you out of his class yet, and that was the first time he actually scolded you. Because that was the first dumb question you asked him).

first of all (because u sent this one first) ur very right about shuuichi being a little bit of a bozo wrt: noticing rantarou's having a Precog Moment. he's (rantarou) has grown pretty used to getting hit with brief flashes of the future, so he's pretty good at maintaining a poker face when he's struck by one. we see it the sliiiightest bit way back in ch1 while rantarou is driving, and in the middle of speaking he is hit with a vision — it's not something he elaborates on but he does see more or less what ends up happening once the monsters rush the car. naturally makoto and byakuya are good at sussing out when he's having one — and as a very heavy aside, it was a vision of him and shuuichi as best buddies his first day of school that had him pursuing the friendship so ardently, and ultimately got them where they are now. brothers <3

and yes back to those asks!!! they are up to like.....jesus christ late-2019 was over 4 years ago at this point so THEREfore so are the asks. that said, in reading over them all again i don't think there's anything i said way back when that doesn't hold at least slightly true currently (with one exception, being the mystery poly relationship ending, and that's more to do with issues i foresee in incorporating it into the fic itself in a way that makes sense). the ones about nagito though? tbh so much of my early answers on nagito (aside from how he was actually Present the first few chapters, so it made sense) stem directly from the fact he (+ shuuichi) are the direct inspiration for pointy objects as a whole. specifically this video, which i credit ch1 as being the catalyst for pointy objects becoming.......well almost 200k and counting. shuuichi as percy's counterpart and nagito as dionysus the unpaid, eternally cursed camp counselor (with hajime as mr brunner, thankfully hoofless) was the starting point for pointy objects FOR sure, and it's just expanded quite a lot past that over all this time. that video jumpstarted the idea in my sister (who handed it over to me pretty much from the get-go), and the pjo musical is what i loosely structured the lore/plot around, but i think the observations i've heard from readers that pointy objects does well at expanding well past the boundaries of the source material hold true! if you do happen to take a peek at the linked video, though: pretty much the whole of ch2 was very heavily inspired by the song which i think is obvious on reread. that sprite edit started it all fr thank you youtube user evie

and yes: it was nagito who found and subsequently named gonta! 8 years and counting of gonta being camp's designated favorite by literally everybody (nagito) (hajime) (most of the campers) (the mioda triplets) (me, connorlizabeth bazwrites). as is probably obvious [gestures at my entire tumblr] i am gontas #1 ride or die, he's my pride and joy, and i will definitely continue having fun with po!gonta TRUST <3 in the spirit of not saying too much ill leave it at.........gonta enjoyers. we are going to eat good.

The way he hides himself when he’s sad n upset just breaks my heart and that cute little wave he does when he’s nervous. And also, I've been doing well, thank you so much for asking! I had a very stressful paper to write recently and I took the most nonsensical test yesterday lmaoo (the wonders of being in your first year of college!) . But those are done and now I'm off of school until the new year!

Now that I'm on break, I'm planning on reading a bunch of holiday/winter themed fics because I'm not really in the festive spirit this year for some reason. And I also told myself that I would be productive and study for my exams that are creeping up but we'll see if that happens lmao.

AAHDIBFI OFC ANYTHING FOR MY BESTIE... SO. OK. Their beginnings are kinda lack-lustre? There’s no sudden clicking together or sudden rivalry. Cycii respects Josephine but doesn’t feel one way or the other about her. He respects her careful wording regarding how people talk about him, an elf, and that she doesn't want to repeat things shes heard. She respects him as a good person doing good things, but doesn’t try to seek him out actively. They leave each other be for the most part while in haven, only talking when Cycii comes to make a delivery for Minaeve. They’re just workers for the inquisition at the start, and they’re fine as acquaintances. I think it shifts when Josephine starts backing his choice to go to the mages and confront Alexis. She pushes for him to do what he wants, and tries to argue back even though shes out of her element talking about how to engage an enemy. Cycii can tell, but he feels very thankful she’s in his corner. She wants this as much as he wants it too. This is where their friendship begins. Josephine’s mindset changes from “Ah, Cycii, he’s here to fix things. I’m here to keep the Chantry from burying us underneath lies.” to “We’re both here to change things, for good.” Jumping ahead a bit to the more relevant lore regarding the Silly Josie Trials. When she first comes to him about her family and their falling fortune, Cycii has a bit of a hard time understanding why Josephine is so... panicked. He hasn’t owned money or had debt at all. He only recently had gold via being the inquisitor. Growing up in a dalish clan THEN being put into a circle, it is not like he ever had the option to build a medieval credit score. So he does question her about why she is trying to get her family back to its former glory. There’s nothing wrong with being like him, so he wants her to understand there’s no shame in not being upper class. But then, she talks about her family, and how she want’s them to stop worrying too. And the unfair circumstances surrounding how this started, Cycii’s opinion shifts. She’s not scared of her own fate regarding this. She’d be fine living on little to no gold. She isn’t trying to figure this out to save face. She’s doing this for everyone else in her family. And Cycii wants to help her. He always, always gets heavily involved when someone has an issue with family. He wants them to gain closure and comfort so deeply, he drops everything once someone opens up about it. He never really gained closure about his own clan, his family, and he knows how that eats at people.  He very quickly learns his dislike (read, powerful hate) for nobles and the higher class is well founded once he meets with the assassin following an order from a long dead family. Josephine needs to be allowed to trade for her family to start to gain again, and a dead man’s complaint is still accepted and is still keeping her family from recovering? It makes his head hurt, all of it gets on his nerves. But Josephine needs this, she needs to jump through loopholes and play The Game as good as she does. And Cycii wants to be that person. He wants to help her figure this out so she can sleep easy for one night. Even if letting Leliana dispatch her agents to steal the contract and kill whoever stops them would be so, soo much more easy, he doesn’t. Josephine said no, and even if he would love to stick it to nobility, he’ll respect her wishes. This is her family, she gets the final say  EEP EEP... LITTOL LORE DROP COMPLETE
