I wish more people were normal about POC, and specifically black, characters in the MCYT fandom. I mean, for obvious reasons related to CCs and all that, but also bc I often feel like I’m doing something wrong because sometimes I’m one of the only people I know how is getting like? Stimming flappy arms excited about my favourite black characters? It’s not like I’m singling them out either I get the exact same way about my favourite non black characters?

It’s jarring to get into skyjacks and see almost equal amounts of art of Jonnit as everyone else because I’ve been in this weirdly passively racist fandom for so long. People are so weird about like CANON (silly canon but) biggri and they make them weirdly toxic when they were so sweet. If it was Scar and Grian you people would be all over it. And dude fucking whatever happened to the way people drew Ponk. And, it’s not even just black ccs and characters. Don’t get me started on the way a lot of Dteam fans back in the day (and still some qsmp fans) talk about Asian women like Tina.

thinking about kab and the thing about her i think is she knows just enough to keep herself safe Generally but not enough to really predict what would happen should something more... complicated??? unforeseen??? idk whats the right word to use but something not covered by someones reputation and/or vids happen, believe it or not this also affects her view of clownpierce (we'll get to that)

for example, mapicc has a reputation for being an violent, angry, & impulsive guy and nothing else which makes sense but is incredibly surface level and something that only really works if you dont have a lot of experience working with him

another is reddoons, his betrayal after the base incident while shocking is not unforeseen but his reputation as being a guy whos seen as being a reasonable person whos fairly loyal to his team made it seem like something he wouldnt do even tho it absolutely is

regarding how it affects her view of clown, since he isnt perfectly aligned with his reputation she instead pivots in the complete opposite direction and forgiving basically every crime he does even tho hes something much more mild and complicated than either his reputation or her view of him will ever be (think madonna-whore complex which is especially obvious when it comes to kabs vs woogies view of him)

another side effect of this Just Enough amount of knowledge aside from being blinded by her own expectations is that it frustrates ppl who think shes oversimplificating things (like me and seemingly several other tumblr users as well) especially when she claims that shes objectively correct and the smartest in the room at any given moment

how this roughness in her analysis affects her in the server still has yet to be fully seen but we do still have at least a couple months until the end but 'til then shes just gonna keep stumbling as more and more complicated situations pop up as is typical in lifesteal to happen and eventually shes gonna have to learn to adapt or else she'll be suffering the consequences one way or another

The following is about Bad’s character not the CC!

I do wanna say that q!Bad’s insistence on wanting q!Forever to tell him he did a good job isn’t just because of any crush he has on him or whatever. It’s also because Forever is one of - if not the closest friend Bad has (tied with Baghera, or Max.)

And Bad is desperate to confirm that his closest friend/crush doesn’t just see him as a vending machine for resources/assistance/egg care. The reason he’s making such a big deal about it isn’t just drama - Bad is seriously starting to wonder if anyone on the island actually cares about him, or if they only talk to him because they need him to do something for them.

Because he told them about all the things he’d done for the island and what he wanted himself (he is saying “I will support you”), and they still elected Forever.

Because he told them he was on a vacation (he is saying “I am not okay”) and they called him crazy, and he was still expected always to be there. (With the exception of Baghera: who noticed and tried to talk to him, and Foolish: who noticed and let Bad build a roach-spawning summer home in his tower that is still there.)

Because he tells them hello and goodnight (he is saying “I miss you when you’re gone”) and they don’t do the same.

Bad is upset with Forever because he thinks he’s asking the question “Do you care about me?” and he thinks the answer is no.

Obviously, he isn’t. At least not in a way that’s easy to see - it’s not really Forever’s or anyone’s fault that he’s developed this mindset. And he is infamously terrible at communicating his feelings. But I do want to acknowledge that while “I want Forever’s attention and I’m too emotionally-constipated to admit it” is definitely part of it, there’s something deeper there too.

just thinking about the fact that the French plane was purposefully crashed by the Feds. Baghera feared it was crashed because of her, to get her back on the island and her friends were collateral damage but now we know someone on the plane was responsible. And that the Federation knew everyone's names and said there was no "important casualties" , meaning the pilot and copilot were the collateral damage. It seems all the French were hand-picked AND one of them was working for the Feds even before they got on the plane. The things this implies are making me insane. They thought there were brought together by circumstances, a family grown from an bad situation making the best of it. They are not. Aypierre's memories seems to indicate he was experimented on BEFORE getting on the island. Baghera too. Antoine and Étoiles seem to remember they were friends before.... was this friendship also somehow created and manipulated to get them on the Island??? Is every link between them carefully crafted? Was Kameto a double agent meant to disappear immediately after he accomplished his task?? Was it all a lie?? I'm going insaaaane

I love DL!Pearl because She's Sad. Because nobody in the situation that caused her Loneliness was completely in the wrong. Scott and Cleo had their Reasons for not wanting to be with their soulbound/mates and while I would personally disagree with those reasons, that's not my choice to make, y'know? and to me, Pearl understands that in a way, but She's still sad, maybe alittle mad but more at the situation then truly at them. She plays up the anger slightly cause it's more fun to jokingly be angry and unhinged then just actually be sad.

Pearl was never in the wrong at first she was Sad, less-so angry at them, even if she had a right to be.

She's Sad, She's Lonely.

I love DL!Tilly(DL! instead of just Tilly cause my AU has her being a bigger part of everything) because to me, Tilly is the Mad one. They're Loyal. She's Loyal to Pearl and doesn't exactly like how Not-Angry Pearl is at the people causing her sadness, and Thus, is Angry for her. To me Tilly considers What Scott did as Pearls Soulbound to be a betrayal, and as an inherently loyal creature, That's maddening to them already.

Just watched Whitepine 1 and holy shit, this video is ART, like absolutely visually stunning from start to finish, it's obvious that so much time and care has gone into every frame. From the choice of resource pack and the builds, to the virtual camera placement and framing, to the timing of cuts and choreography of the actors, every decision feels so intentional and compliments everything else so well and the black side bars really commit you to the sense that what you're seeing is as much a video as it is a connected sequence of intricately detailed paintings.

Not to mention the sound design, the weather, the voices, the footsteps, the clinking of plates, the way the sounds change based on the placement of the camera. THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK MADE BY IVORY, absolutely unreal.

Everything about it is just so gorgeous
