Note: All of these are my personal headcanons... Gonna write some kitty headcanons under too because I am silly like that and cringe culture is dead :3

1. Kitty (Herr) Knock!

Here is kitty Knock headcanons!

I'd imagine him to be an orange ragdoll cat!! Orange cats are generally known from what I've seen for being peculiar little guys, so I thought that would fit Knock very nicely for being out of the ordinary and silly. I honestly chose the ragdoll because of the fluffy appearance of their fur but reading into it, they can be affectionate and friendly too. And they love belly rubs. Perhaps he is a friendly cat who originally wanted attention and love for people but after being shunned for being abnormal, he gave up.

Ragdolls are intelligent too, whilst orange cats are known for the opposite. I reckon that Knock seems unintelligent with some of the things he does (getting stuck in high places, running into things etc.) But he is actually quite a smart cat in reality.

He's definitely a stray cat who was abandoned at some point on the streets and had to survive on his own until finding Orlok </3 Poor guy

He likes smaller animals, especially rats. The ones cats are meant to kill, Knock does not. He refuses to.

He is quite an old kitty (hence the gray fur parts), but he's still full of life!

He's also extra mischievous. I reckon >:3

Hes very dirty, his furr is matted and he also has fleas because he hasnt been groomed :(

Kitty (Count) Orlok

Note: For kitty Orlok, I wanted him to have light gray skin but it was too late when I realised the gray was way darker than I wanted it to be :( I have new pens coming in a few days so I can redo Orlok

But anyways, kitty Orlok headcanons;

But yeah, I think Orlok to be a Sphynx cat. Ive heard others talk about how unappealing and somewhat creepy Sphynx cats look (honestly, how dare they >:[) and I think it's sorta the way a supernatural vampire like a creature would be viewed. Despite all this, Sphynx cats for their loyal and intelligent, which I imagine could be overlooked when seeing kitty Orlok. (You can probably guess who he's loyal to)

I also intentionally made him extra spooky looking too. He has lifeless white eyes and sharp claws, with lots of wrinkles and a tall, lanky stature to catch the creepy aura. I also imagine he can make himself look taller willingly in order to look extra terrifying when he needs or wants to be feared.

Kinda messed it up a little too but dark purple collar. I didnt know what to put for the little tag so diamond shape because hes extra fancy like that.

Hes always been a stray cat, getting used to being alone since he was a mere kitten. He doesn't really get visitors often so imagine his surprise when a peculiar occurance is present and a specific orange cat finds and befriends him.

Despite Sphynx cats having an affectionate nature, Orlok isn't really the most affectionate cat at all. He can be quite violent, which pulls most people away in itself.

Kitty Ellen (Hutter)!

Last but not least, Kitty Ellen headcanons!

I honestly dont know why I chose the Scottish fold. Just saw some photos and for some reason went "Fuck yeah, Ellen!!"

Unlike the other two, Id imagine Ellen to actually have a pet owner who possibly has both Thomas and Ellen living in the house.

No doubt she'd be spoiled to death, with a fancy pretty collar and a fancy little tag to go with it.

She likes watching birds outside the window because I said so >:]

Even though she has the chance to go outside like Id imagine Thomas to do, Ellen actually feels more comfortable just lounging around in the house and just doing cat things. Sure she will explore outside sometimes but she doesn't bother with it too much.

Shes a friendly affectionate cat who likes attention sometimes.

Yeah I dont have as many headcanons for Ellen as I do the other two surprising

Sorry for saying it like that, but sometimes I would like some of your mutuals to learn to shut up. Simone has spoken several times about Kathony and not just about a dance. I know it's not their fault but now these people are saying that those "misogynists and racists fans" only care about their white man and that they will drag Simone if necessary. I know it wasn't their intention but they have given them a reason to continue criticizing Jonny. I know this sounds bad but it's always the same circle. Some fans say something, they say JB fans (even if they are also Simone's, as much or more) are shit and her anons start filling his tag. I don't even care about actors anymore, but I loved Kathony and I can't watch it the same anymore. I know it's not your fault but it's very frustrating. Simone has spoken several times about Kathony and we have a lot to thank her for and it's okay to admit it. Jonathan hasn't said anything and there is nothing wrong with that as some fans (annie and co) are trying to imply.

First of all. SPOILERS AHEAD ALL THE WAY. DONT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE LAST OF US SERIES.

Anyway, you conveniently left the rest of my comment out of your message. I cant find the post anymore, but it was about an article that claimed that TLOU is anti-black because two characters played by poc actors died in the backstory of two main characters.

I have never played the game and I haven't watched this show further than season 1, episode 8 (obv because thats all that has come out this far) so my knowledge at this point is only based on what has happened in in the tv series.

So the show is a horror/drama story in a post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has been killed off by a horrible disease. And those still living live in a constant fear of meeting the same fate either by catching the disease or by getting killed by other survivors. The whole tension is created by the possibility THAT ANYONE CAN DIE ANY SECOND either because of catching the disease or by the opportunistic individuals. Because of this everybody has gone through a certain trauma of losing a loved one. For that reason, its pretty obvious that major side characters ARE going to die and probably even one of the two main characters (my guess is Joel). Judging by the pics online, Joel´s character in the game is white, but he is played in the show by Pedro Pascal, a Chilean American actor. I thought this would make him a poc (not so sure anymore, someone correct me if im wrong). Ellie is white and also played by a white actor.

This far the show doesn’t have that many major side characters, and most of them have appeared so far only in one episode, so it´s hard to distinct who is a major side character and who is not , but let´s look at the two characters the anti-black accusations are based on:

Sarah, Joel´s daughter who in the game is white, but played by a poc actress in the series. Losing Sarah in the beginning of the outbreak is Joel's cause of trauma and the essential part of his backstory. Yes. I do agree, Sarah has no other part in the story-telling than to provide angst to Joel's backstory. HOWEVER. I feel its far-fetched to say that they hired a poc girl to play Sarah, because they are anti-black and wanted to show black people dying for a white man's angst (and Pascal isn't even white as far as I have understood?). I mean. Maybe Nico Parker was just that good in the auditioning and thats why they hired her? Also maybe they wanted to show that they are not afraid to cast a poc to play a character that was originally white?

My point is this: Should they have cast a white girl for the role of Sarah just because Sarah is a background character that dies and they cant hire a poc to play a character that dies, because that could have been viewed as "anti-black"? Isn't that the definition of racism that someone´s ethnicity prevents them from getting a certain job? Or should they have changed the original plot so that Sarah would have lived just because she was played by a poc? How would have that made any sense?

Riley, unlike Sarah, is a poc both in the game and in the show. She is Ellie´s best friend (and a bit more if you have watched the show). In the show Riley hasnt been confirmed to have died yet, but I assume she is going to die, because she got bitten. Same points I have made about Sarah apply to Riley as well, but because Riley was a poc in the game, I'm pretty sure the same people, who are now accusing the show of anti-blackness, would have been fuming if they had cast a white actor to play Riley. The show would have been accused of "white-washing" a black character and being racist because "white Ellie's love interest cant be black".

Obviously, I do not know about Riley´s full role in the game, but when it comes to the show, I think its a bit of a simplification to claim that her character was nothing more than a source for white person's pain. They spent the whole episode of focusing on her to establish that she is brave, independent and funny. Yes, she got bitten, but imo her body wasnt "brutalized".

I could maybe understand the statements of "anti-blackness" if Sarah and Riley were the only characters to die or even just only pocs of the show, but that is not true at all. In fact, major side characters played by white actors have died just as often as those who have been played by pocs. Bill, Frank, Tess and this far two major villains played by white actors have died. Tommy, Maria and Marlene are played by pocs and are still alive. Besides Sarah and Riley, there are Henry and Sam who are played by pocs and who have died. Together that makes 4 dead characters played by pocs and 5 played by white actors. I dont even say this to claim that those numbers matter, I think the quality of characters matters more than amount, but my point is that this show does not kill off exclusively black characters. Then there is Joel. Its pretty clear that if Joel dies at some point, it is going to have a major impact on Ellie's character. My question is this: If this happens, is it again viewed as another poc killed off to further a white character's arc (if Pedro Pascal is considered a poc in the first place)? If not, then what if they had hired someone with darker skin tone than Pascal to portray Joel?

Also there is no denying that Tess's death was quite tragic, had an impact on Joel and Ellie, and deepened those two character's relationship. Its the whole reason why Joel is protecting Ellie in the first place. However, nobody is accusing the show of "anti-whiteness" because of her death. But what if she had been played by a poc?

All in all, my question is this: When is a poc character's death considered deliberate political decision and when not? White characters just live or die, but what happens to a poc character always somehow becomes a representation of this whole hidden political view of them. Doesn't that threaten to reduce poc characters to nothing more than representations of their skin tone or ethnicity? What does it do to poc actors and their careers, if they cannot take roles in shows where their character might die, without a risk of causing a controversy to their employers?

I may be just an ignorant white girl (and probably so are you since you didn't want to comment with your own account), but sometimes cigar is just a cigar.

been wanting to make another warriors blog for a while but i finally caved after writing up stuff about my new ocs and not knowing where to post it. im just copypasting this directly from an info dump i made so it's not extremely well organised LMAO but here are said OC ideas :]] im probably gonna spend quite a bit of time on this blog just building on them and drawing them tbh. that's the plan anyway

so imagine a cat becomes a medicine cat apprentice, and when they finally go to meet starclan at the moonpool instead of like.. awe, wonder, admiration etc. this idea of all powerful godly ancestors that can apparently predict fate and maybe even control it according to some cats, and watches them constantly.. fucking TERRIFIES this cat. like he is absolutely shitting his pants level afraid and he becomes gradually extremely paranoid about it all. he tries to keep doing the medicine cat stuff but eventually begs his leader to let him just become a warrior to try and get away from it as much as possible. and it helps but not.. a lot? hes still afraid and struggling.

it also turns out he's also had a pretty rough lot in life up til now, which doesnt help bc if these starclan cats control everything why has he suffered so much? what did he do to deserve it? bad things continues to happen and he questions it more and more. he feels like hes watched constantly and even like hes being punished for something he did, even though he doesnt know what his crime actually was. this makes things even worse.

at some point because of all this he runs off maybe? but he misses his family and clan and he also feels watched still no matter where he goes. and maybe something horrible happens to someone he cares for while hes gone and he blames himself for it because he left and thinks starclan decided to hurt his loved ones for it. so he becomes afraid to even leave the clans and doesnt attempt to run away again.

mind you, in the meantime starclan hasnt caused ANY of this. the things that happen are unfortunate coincidences. but he has no idea and after actually seeing what to clan cats basically counts as God Himself™️ hes a wreck. the books always show meeting starclan as a positive experience but i feel like it's something youd need at least some level of willpower for. youd need the right mindset. not just anyone can become a medicine cat and communicate with their ancestors. it's a big deal and some cats ,id think, just wouldnt be able to do it.

hes called whisperingstorm, he has a littermate called bubblingstream. his mother had other litters so he has many siblings but that's the one he knows best and grew up with. he also has an older brother maybe. dovesomething im thinking. bubbling has his own set of issues but im still figuring out how to make that work. another litter in his family is two more kits who are gonna have matching names, this serves to contrast bubbling and whispering who have conflicting names (they have rather different personalities but they also just. dont get along despite bubblings initial efforts to bond with whispering). bubbling as in excitable and upbeat, then when he grew up stream became his suffix bc hes actually rather.. not that basically. yknow how when ppl picture streams they see a calm, gentle stream that some would consider a relaxing visual? like that, as well as their family having a water/weather theme to their names. hes quiet and slow worded, not much to say. compare whispering, something quiet and soft, then when he got older his suffix became storm because of his explosive, high energy and honestly aggressive personality. so not only do they oppose each other in personality, their birth names themselves wouldve better suited them if theyd been swapped around as those are juxtapositions as well. whispering is loud and aggressive, bubbling is quiet and softspoken.

the reason whispering and bubbling dont get along is cause.. well, whispering is a prick, to be blunt. but hes like this as an active attempt to push people away bc of trust issues. he cares a lot about bubbling, he just also thinks anyone being close to him = him inflicting his 'bad luck'/'curse' (see: STARCLAN IS OUT TO GET ME) on others.

eventually it works and bubbling gives up trying to support his brother for his own sake because whispering goes anywhere from mildly mean to downright verbally abusive trying to get bubbling to go away and the guy cant really keep dealing with that. and whispering hates himself for it but he got what he aimed for so.. yeah.

not sure where im going next with this but i want. drama. but not murder. none of them are gonna be murdery. it's a very family issues and trauma and mental health kind of theme i want going on here. yeah someone will probably die bc that's just kinda a given in the clans but not from killing. i can enjoy warriors ocs that go and kill cats for one reason or another but between them and canon i want something different for once, and this is what i want to create to achieve that. plus running off somewhere and coming back to find out, say, a family member died of greencough or something? it's harder to pin a blame on anything material there. as opposed to a cat from a different clan outright killing them in battle or something.

Okay one thing i really don't get it. Izuku was reckless to an extreme where he didn't take himself into account and many times including the villain hunt arc we have seen him not care about himself. Him not taking himself is due to his lack of self worth and for some reason All might is to be blamed for this ?. His lack of self worth was due to the bullying and being called worthless for 11yrs by Bakugou. All might is also blamed for Izuku pushing away his friends which i cannot agree. Izuku has a caring heart and he cares too much about his friends. It doesn't mean he looks down on them like Shoji asked. The kid has fear of putting some one in danger due to the effects of the war as well as watching Nagant explode which in-turn made him more desperate to find Shigi and AFO to a point where he didn't eat or sleep and all might is supposed to be blamed? All might has been looking out for his well being and telling him non stop to not be like him since the Kamino fight with AFO. All might was the one who suggested for Izuku's protection in UA in CH306. constantly prepared food for Izuku. i will say Izuku was stubborn to listen to all might in the villain arc but his stubbornness is also due to his underlying fear and Trauma of losing people he cares about which is clouding his judgement. I really can't stand Horikoshi's canon and how many blame All might for this.

Hori needed someone he could lay the blaime for izukus self destroying tendencies and zero self worth one and choose all might for that, because blaiming bakugou for it, would course an abroar in the fandom.

Everyone who pays at least a little bit attention should be able to realize that the reason izuku feels that way about himself, is because of the 10 years of abuse he had to endure and was told on a daily basis that he is worthless and useless trash. And izuku still believes that! He STILL calls himself by the insults bakugou used to call him! That alone makes clear that izuku is NOT over his past abuse by bakugous hands. He still suffers from trauma, he wasnt able to heal from!

Bakugou layed the blaime for izukus non existent self worth on all might, because at the time, he couldnt tell his classmates "oh by the way, the reason why deku gives a fuck about himself is because I used to call him worthless, useless trash and similar things on a daily basis since kindergarten and I also liked to use my quirk on him, destroyed his property and also liked to use him as my punching bag."

Pretty sure the rest of the class wouldnt have reacted very well to that. Maybe they even would have told him to stay in ua, while they search for izuku. I also think bakugou doesnt want to face the fact that HE is responsible for izukus fucked up mental wellbeing. In the latest two chapters we found out that bakugou wants to move on from the past. He believes with the apology everything is forgiven now and he has a white vest again! But its not that easy. Its not in the abusers right to decide, when its time to move on. Thats only the victims priority, espicially if the victim hasnt moved on yet and wasnt able to reflect over the bad things that happened to them and so far izuku still hasnt said anything about the apology nor accepted it! I really hope hori does all that with a purpose in mind and means bakugou will be called out later and izuku will be able to heal! And to be able to heal, bakugou needs to stay away from him.

All might is not at fault for the way izuku treats himself. Like you said, all might did everything he could to help izuku and was worried sick about him! Izuku was ALWAYS selfless. Already as a small child he did everything he could to help others, even standing up to his bullys to protect an other boy from bakugou and his minions. The self destroying and zero self worth came LATER, after the bulling startet! And izuku cant have copied that from all might, because back then they didnt know each other on a personal level. When izuku and all might met each other for the first time, izukus feeling of self worth was already long gone!

Bakugou simply needed someone to lay his own wrong doings on, because he doesnt want to face backlash from the people around him that could destroy his reputation and his chance to become the nr 1 hero. Nobody wants a nr 1 hero, who told an other person to kill himself! Bakugou is not dumb enough, not to get that. He is actually quite manipulative. It was all might he layed the blaime one, because to his luck neither all might nor izuku were there to contradict him and he choose a moment to apologize, when izuku was not in the right mind to process what bakugou was telling him.

look ive been looping the light behind your eyes by mcr for the past HOUR and i am having so many emotions i cannot even COMPREHEND right now so i am going to ramble about mania because i have twenty minutes left in computer science class and nothing to do. this is complete word vomit i did not go back through and edit read at your own caution

the thing i really love about mania as a whole is the juxtaposition of the symbols it uses; its literally going insane. It seems kind and pretty and aesthetic on the surface but scratch the top and you’re falling into a pit of maniac despair. There are llamas and purple and the ocean and sure those seem peaceful and lovely on the outside but thats the thing theyre NOT its a juxtaposition. Its something beautiful combined with awful traits (never in my life did i think i would watch llamas stab pete to death but cest la vie i guess) and that just makes things so much more horrifying. The overuse of purple feels like a panic attack, or a point trying to get through. the llamas, which are a symbol of peace and royalty, are constantly used in a creepy/harmful way that really ruined llamas in general for me. Sunshine riptide is a fantastic song and i love it so much but its REALLY FUCKING DEPRESSING AT ITS CORE. AND !!!! the constant use of royalty as a pedestal!!!! purple is the color of royalty!!!! The purple llama’s name is Royal-Tea!!! LLAMAS ARE A SYMBOL OF ROYALTY!!!! Its like a motif idk i just think its so interesting. And then theres the song champion which is. obviously linked. 

As i write this my playlist hits me in the face with Calm Down and then Fake Out in quick succession its making me so depressed ajskfhewincn

mania is also a really interesting experimental album but the new elements are incorporated so flawlessly its rlly difficult to tell theyre new things that fall out boy hasnt done before. Also in this they add a lot of Black influences, like burna boy featuring on sunshine riptide (AUGHHHHH ANOTHER SAD SONG JUST CAME ON IM DYING INSIDE) and heavens gate is very soul influenced. but since i am not black, im just some random chinese american (i might as well just be white), i feel like whatever i say im going to get wrong and i really, really do not want to fuck up talking about cultural things, but i really do love how different cultures are peppered into this album and it just feels so NATURAL. Like for instance i also saw in the youtube comment section of hold me tight or dont that it’s kinda like salsa music? Im not positive i just thought id add that in there.

Like to be completely honest with you there is no way to reasonably rank these. Theyre all fucking great. Honestly i love them all so, so much. Mania has my heart forever i just kind of ranked them by how often im in the mood to listen to them

It’s so exhausting watching apologists and people who don’t Get It argur about vol 2 as though the characters are real people with agency and feelings and not fictional beings who’s every move, trait and line had to be crafter intentionally by someone. like yeah it’s easy to find ways to make a bunch of stuff excusable or sensible or realistic if a real person did it. like plenty of it would still be weird or mean or out if character but people are like that, weird and mean and sometimes acting against their own character. but these are not people, they are created characters, and we’re questioning why the people writing them made the intentional choices to write them this way and pointing out that plenty of this is bad writing craft firstly and bad, problematic and bigoted ways to craft narratives around the marginalised characters they CHOSE to include and CHOSE to make from a marginalised background. All of this is completely external to whether or not a real living breathing teenage boy would say something insensitive in a stressful situation. That real teenage boy isn’t having his lines intentionally written for him. And aside from the ~realism~ argument not actually being a good or accurate defence really anything here for so many reasons anyway, none of this trash is meant to be realistic callousness from a person in distress, because it’s not being framed as a problem in the first place. these problems, like mike’s callousness, will being almost too self-sacrificial, they aren’t being lampshaded or acknowledged in the text, they’re not being indicated as intentional character flaws or character traits. Whether or not real teenagers would do and say these exact things is a connected but ultimately still seperate issue as to whether it should have been written that way, and is far from the only thing being considered by the people writing it. This applies to all the issues this vol, from the bad queer rep to the implicit racism to the Eddie of it all but it’s particularly applicable with dialogue. and honestly with any character, just because the things they did or said seemed in character doesn’t mean it wasn’t lazy, cliched, manipulative, wasteful, prejudiced or sidelining writing in plenty of other ways. ‘In character’ and ‘narratively justifiable’ are only two of an endless list of lenses a writing choice can be looked at through, and they’re only two of many many many things a writer is thinking about when they craft lines. Will was more or less in character all season, i’ll agree to thst. But the choice to make having feelings for a straight friend his storyline AT ALL is something we’re allowed to question. Will isn’t a real person who organically develops feelings. They made the choice to write him that way and we’re allowed to ask then what was the point and be hurt that the answer is more or less for queer angst and het plot device. It’s not like they handled this with grace and care and gave us a truly honest and nuanced portrayal of what it is to be a queer person in love with a het friend. EVERYTHING in the film industry is an active choice, especially stranger things s4, which was filmed THREE YEARS AGO and was being edited and worked on up until THIRTY HOURS BEFORE VOL2 AIRED. and not at any point did any of them sit back and go “hey maybe the way we wrote will’s storyline this season was really messed up and will hurt a lot of queer people” or even “hey maybe the way we wrote lucas’s arc this season was really racist in that we had him striving to not get bullied anymore only to ultimately learn that it was a useless endeavor” like. these are all active choices the writers made and it does not MATTER if the characters were in character or realistic (which mike sure as hell wasn’t in character, hasnt been since s3), because at the end of the day they are at liberty of the writers telling a story and THAT is what matters

Master Character analysis thread on Ryu Sunghoon Part II

Covers episode 3 to 4

We start episode 3 with a flashback. It highlights: Pain

The moment Sunghoon is gone, the group is in danger. Its easy to conclude that hes the member that binds them together- not just a simple leader or their guardian. But also the heart of their escape plane. If hes not there, everything seems pointless.

While the others kids in his group are working hes being tortured. This is the result of him trying to escape. Trying to get help until ultimately getting caught bei Yeom Kinam. He most definitely expected something like this coukd happen, yet he willingly put himself in danger- for the sake of his brothers.

Hes being shown in visible pain, in fear. At this point, hes been through more than anyone else from the kids in his group. The reason why he hasnt given up at that time and hasnt died? Simply put: he was trying to survive for the others. He keeps onto his life not because he wants to but because he needs to. He later laughs off his pain, his loss of hope and shows pretty clearl that he stopped trusting adults. That they r now on their own.

In the current timeline, he tries to keep watch on Sungjoon. Where ever he can, when ever he can. Even if it complicates his already thight schedule. He is, next to his father, the first one to walk towards Sungjoon once wakes up in the hospital. He waited- him staring out of the window instead of keeping himself busy (like their mom) indicates, he was worried. He continues his habit of looking away when the situation becomes uncomfortable for both him and Sungjoon. This happens again when his dad says „If it were your brohter, he wouldnt have acted so rashly“

He looks away because he knows himself the best. On the inside he knows hed either run away like a coward or get himself in danger to get himself killed- as deserved. In some scenes its pretty obvious he has a lower self esteem like the show makes it out to be. He doesnt really like himself. He dresses either in his suit- to merge into the masses – or wears simple black/dark clothes to not draw any attention towards him. While a lot of characters wear casual black clothes i think for him its more color coding than for others.

A short excourse into the meaning of the color black:

The color of power and sophistication. Black is and incredible strong and intimidating color that exudes authority and makes us feel secure and protected. Often seen at formal and prestigious events, this mysterious color arouses and seduces our senses. Black indimidates and mystifies. On the contrary it makes us feel depressed, sad and pessimistic. People wear it on funerals- in the 20tth century and earlier, it was also worn on weddings. It represents evil, death, grief, mourning, the occult heaviness, rebellion, fear and bleakness. As a „color“ of many sentiments its not easy to define it as negative or positive.

Its to note that black isnt a color. Colors refelct light and black does not- black is the absence of light and in nature can exist without any kind of light.

It concludes that black isnt just a simple choice of color but also represents what hes feeling on the inside. Everyday he wears the same. Just to not stand out. He doesnt want to.

When their mom scolds Sungjoon, Sunghoon looks right back at her. Almost as if he wants to challenge her. Despite everything and what his parents say („How long must we be worried about you?“) he is genuienly worried about Sungjoon.

Again, he looks away in visible discomfort. At this point, it has happened many times already. But why doesnt he talk back when hes actually worried? Because he probably thinks he has no say in any of this. He feels and sees himself as inferior.

At around 07:12, theres a short moment which can be quickly glanced over wher Sunghoon looks pretty ready to fight his mom. Because he knows who she really is.

There is that moment when the parents and Sunghoon are about to leave the hospital room- Sunghoon looks like he want to say something but he draws back. Hesistantly.

Something was on his mind.

Immediately after they left the room his mom gets back to him by saying „I know you must be busy but Sungjoon keeps causing trouble like this“ he smiles and looks down. By now we know what this means- hes uncomfortable. He doesnt like it. Or rather, he is overwhelmed. But the smile indicates something else- its a genuine smile. Directed toeards his brohter- he doesnt mind getting into trouble for him if it means he is safe. This is fruther highlighted by the facts that HE wants to ask the doctor instead of waiting for their parents to do so. He wants to know first. Like when they were younger, he was laway the firts to know when he was in trouble.

Getting back to his coping with nervousness. At around 26:11 there is a flashback which shows Sunghoon with a pen- yet again. Call back to one of the first scenes we see him in where he breaks the pen.

He taps it against his desk.

In psychology doing this has many meanings:

Twirling or tapping a pen is to relief stress or anxiety. Its a nervous habit but keeps the brain working. It also represents impatience. If done on someone eses desk, its more of a threat.

A short summary of Sunghoons other habits:

He holds intense eye contact. Intense eye contact usually means someone wants to dominate or intimidate. He feels the need to show others he does know things and if they get on his wrong side he can snap back.

He checks up on his brother.

He panics. On the inside.

Episode 4 starts with another flashback: This time it highlights hope and determination

As the guardian and protector of the group he makes sure the youngest are fed. So he gives up his food for them- even when one of them tries to decline. He did this all despite himself being still a child- being hungry and tired. He didnt give himself a break for the sake of the others. Hes determined to leave. His goal when they managed to escape? To go to school, do homeworks and play soccer like any other kid- something that never happened this way as his parents put him under constant stress to make the perfect throphy out of him. To not have (another) failure in their life. He was what Sungjoon was probably supposed to be.

In the current time, at around 05:15 he is seen staring at his his laptop- recognizing the chief police officer Yeom Kinam. There is visible pain and hatred in his eyes- he thinks of all those things he had to go through because of him. Its as if hes caught in a trance.

Mood swings are also a part of him. They vary from being cold, to feeling too much to „owning the place“- something pretty common found in trauma survivors of any kind.

When Sungjoon and his colleagues talk about a „possible theory“ Sunghoon enters the room by saying „The Kevin Bacon Theory“ it happens rather casually, and he feels pretty safe in what hes saying. His posture also indicates he feels good with what hes talking about.

Another interesting bits seen though episode 4:

When they leave the police station and Sungjoon mentions Baek Moonkang and Choi Songil in one sentence, Sunghoons posture shifts a little bit and he seems like he wants to know more- he knows them obviously but he wants to know what Sungjoon has to say about them. To Sungjoon it seems rather „judgy“ than anything else. So Sunghoon seems disappointed when SJ doesnt elaborate further.

He intentionally plays dumb when Choi Songil asks him if he remebers him (13:55) and plays off his anger tho its still pretty visible on his face. Accompanied with disgust. He even looks at his watch when CSG asks him if they could talk in private and tells him „lets talk here“. His words dont fit his actions- a common thing seen when someone is nervous or tries to hide something.

When he is being questioned by Dt. Kang about the incident at the hospital (Jung Manchuns death) his facial expression shifts from confusion to curiosity, questioning and confusion. He stands with his hands behind his back:

But what does it mean if someone is standing with their hands behind thei back?

-submission

-defeat

-confidence

-it makes someone taller/powerful

-it makes someone feel more approachable and is a sign of not being a threat

Sunghoon looks annoyed when Choi Songil tries to threaten him- as if to say „You wont success this time“ he tries to have the upperhand throughout their whole conversation.

When he visits his parents:

There is a photo of Sunghoon and Sungjoon on the latters desk. Sunghoon looks visible sad and melancholic when he looks at it.

Quick mannerism analysis of the interactions between him and his parents- else I would sit here until early morning (and i still have to finish my latin homeworks):

„Sungjoon hasnt called“ he wish he had. But he knows he wont because he shouldnt trust him.

Sunghoon looks down, very displeased with the whole siatuation, especially when his mom says „Why must he (Sungjoon) do this now?“

When their mom asks wher he could be now he again looks uncomfortable. He wish he knew. He HATES how much he does not know about his brother. Someone he should actually protect.

And at last- a little rant about how their parents put all the pressure and burden on Sunghoon instead of taking care of Sungjoon themselves:

Why dont they know where their other son is? Why is it Sunghoons responsibility? Why is it the responsibilityof a traumatized boy to watch out for his brother? Why did they adopt Sunghoon when they couldnt even care about Sungjoon in the first case?Its not the responsibility of a kid. When their mom starts yelling at Sunghoon his voice gets notably smaller and more quiet. He feels inferior. He feels like he doesnt deserve to know more about his brother. But he feels like he deserves all the anger his mom is spitting at him. His eyes follow his body language- they get empty. And he looks distant. He feels like he failed his brother yet again. His only chance to gain back his confidence is by snapping back „Did the 2 of you really no expect this at all?“ his voice is accusing, rage filled and disappoined. Showing them they know as much about Sungjoon like he knows. Almost nothing. He wants them to feel as guilty as him.

And when his mom answers „Are you saying you knew Sungjoon would do something like this?“ he looks affirming but its not directed at his brother but himself. He would hvae killer if there was the opportunity, not SJ. He feels rage. Not SJ.

He wears a mask to hide the scars on his soul and body. Who he is, was, no longer matters . That old self of Sunghoon is gone- died when he was thrown into darkness. Now there is only one thing left: the manifestation of his pain, anger, and grief. The remains of his younger self are buried deep down- a dead and empty wasteland he has no idea to care about.

No one should ever find his younger self again- he wants to protect it so bad. To not get hurt even more. They should never see him again. Hes waiting for a moment in time when he can finally bring it back- to fullfil his younger self dreams and hopes.

If there ever would be an opportunity for his captors to apologize he'd never take it. He doesnt want an apology.

After all his current self is just a manifestation of trauma. He cannot accept. He doesnt accept and he shouldn't.

He is alone.

Hi!!! I'm so so sorry I haven't replied! I know it's been days lol. I've been meaning to but I kept getting distracted or busy and also I've just been using Tumblr less and trying to be more productive. Never take it personally or anything..thats why I said before the back and forth replying can sometimes be hard for me having to keep up with it and I also like to take my time replying to you. Haha I'm sorry I had to inform you about the back covers not matching. It is what it is but I'm also so excited to see some of the other photos. I think there is another one where she is holding an ice cream cone too, and I've seen one where she is wearing the white shirt from the pink or blue vinyl. I love that picture so much! But ya I actually connect with Rep a lot. I think that was my favorite album before Folklore cuz I love all the songs on it. But I never listen to an album if the rerecording hasnt come out...only a few songs. I made an exception for the concert when all the songs were on shuffle and rep was the only CD in my car. But usually I don't like to..so I won't know how to compare it..not that I would anyway. I did listen to 1989 before Midnights came out though cuz I wanted to hear most of her other albums. I also love Red and those would probably be my top 3. What about you? What would be some of your top albums or top songs? I probably have a good or solid top 5 I think. I know..my predictions are probably way off but that also makes it fun. I don't have many other predictions cuz I feel like it's similar to something else we already have on the album, and I don't really think there will be a ballad type song either but I'm happy to be wrong. It is very hard for me to keep track of every show I've seen so I can't imagine how it is for you. I totally agree about the atmosphere of some shows..Rent was like that. I totally recommend the movie or cast recording though cuz I just love some of the songs a lot. But it is rock music so you might not like it as much. But if you like Tick Tick Boom, I would at least listen to it. I would probably feel the same about Newsies too cuz it seems like such a fun show. I did see Aladdin and it was fun to see a Disney show but I'm sure Newsies would still be different. There's also something so fun about seeing a show you know so well! I haven't seen a show more than once and I would really like to someday. Unless you count school shows that I was a part of in elementary school haha. But ya I can imagine..that's the point of theater really is that every show is different and each one can be special. So..I actually haven't finished Theater Camp yet. That's another reason I waited to reply to but I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer! I waited to watch it with my sister and it just didn't work out. I put it on last night and ended up falling asleep. I woke up like an hour later and tried to rewatch it but fell asleep again! This is shocking to me cuz I was so excited to watch it and I'm usually never tired! But it was also 3AM. I've just been really drained lately I guess and that could be why I never replied. why didn't they ask evans is a miniseries that my friend jamie loves!! and i was very intrigued by it and watched the first episode many many months ago, and finally got around to watching the rest of it over the weekend! it's based off of the agatha christie book of the same title (which i haven't read, but want to)! heartstopper was very cute, and so lovely to watch while i was feeling poorly. and the music in heartstopper is phenomenal! i hope you like the bear; i can't wait to hear your thoughts when you get around to it :)

ok so like i been Thinkin a lot on that stream techno had today and i may be Thinkin Too Much cuz i was doing psychology while watching but im going to say Words Now

the entire idea and Plot of tommy going from only interacting/being manipulated by dream to only interacting with techno is a Lot. theres a lot here. and i am feasting like a fucking king on the potential of it and what this could all Mean

I think we’re building up the idea of how techno and dream differ and how they house both similarities and extreme differences in their ideals. 

So if we considered how Tommy’s arcs have changed theres a very, VERY clear juxtaposition between the exile arc to.... raccoon arc? whatever the fuck is goin on

Tommy Was manipulated, isolated, and gaslit by dream. that was the only guy he really had interacted with and that was Intentional entirely. Its very obvious this will have and currently has an affect on tommy. 

Now, he’s with technoblade. theres a lot of shit that can be read in this simply as considered right now. I feel we’re clearly supposed to at least somehow compare dream and technoblade because their positions are somewhat similar concerning how they are interacting with tommy. 

Tommy can only really interact with techno, only techno really has the ability to see him (although ranboo, ghostbur, and phil could see him but theres obvious difficulties in their case), and how tommy regards technoblade is.... complicated. like how he regards dream at the moment.

but theres some really, really important and clear differences in this that i think will show a lot about techno’s character and what’s to come

first of all, there’s a question of why techno is seemingly ‘letting’ tommy live with him. No joke, i’ve discussed this a LOT in the technocord and it’s made me realize it from a different perspective since many of those people in there are from Before techno joined the smp.

so, there’s no clear ‘rational’ reason why techno would benefit from teaming with tommy. there’s some arguments that could be made; tommy’s position with people and especially tubbo, using tommy as a bargaining chip with dream, and something else i cant remember. but the technocord hardcore ppl feel tommy is a liability in the long term. techno doesn’t really have much to gain beyond a distraction. the idea of using tommy in order to convince him he’s getting the disks and then to destroy lmanberg is kinda.... its jus more trouble to techno. In fact, it wouldve been defendable for techno to kick him out; he stole his stuff, and we saw how he reacted to his cows being killed, his previous base being pillaged. You’d have thought techno wouldve been angrier.

but like. that aside. there’s little reason for techno to open up to tommy. and thats the point.

there’s no necessity on techno’s part. he doesnt need tommy. he could kick him out easily. but he won’t. 

I imagine technoblade sees the trauma and hardship tommy went through and he sympathizes with him. Its been made clear that techno doesnt know the full extent of what happened, but he doesnt need to. he knows enough. 

Now, back to the happenings of the last stream,

it wasnt plot heavy at all. (mostly because techno’s fuckign glasses are held together with SCOTCH TAPE the guy couldnt even fucking use ducttape i hate that) but there were a Few interesting things, including the Plot Stream a bit;

the ‘box’ techno made with the idea of hiding tommy from dream. (perhaps a joke but it still shows something i feel)

how he’s been giving tommy a Lot of stuff. he hasnt Genuinely been upset at his golden apples being taken; in fact, techno gave him more food in protest of him eating all the gapples instead of.... demanding them back

went mining in the nether with the intention of getting tommy better stuff

he replaced the log he accidentally stripped. extremely funny considering he got the wrong type of wood but he tried

expending more resources on tommy with invisibility potions so that he wasnt in danger of being seen

Repeatedly would assure tommy that dream Is Not His Friend.

at the idea of tommy being ‘banned’ from the nether and being attacked in lmanberg, techno laughed at the idea of him being ‘attacked’ and killed even when tommy worried that he’d die for the Last Time

implicated that techno WOULD defend him. and the idea of someone killing Either him or tommy was funny because of that

okay so slight comparison to dream; techno is instead GIVING tommy resources instead of blowing them up, he’s obviously intent on protecting him in some way, and he assures tommy that dream is No Good (rather than how dream was telling tommy no one cared about him)

But there’s one instance that was really, really important to me

the control room had a very bad impact on tommy. most likely a panic attack (the shaking, heavy breathing, scattered speech/thought is something i know so intimately lmao) and techno’s reaction to it was extremely interesting. 

first, techno said he was ‘freaking out for no reason’ which could be a) techno is horrific at emotions and vulnerability lmao and b) to Him, it Is nothing. he has no clue what tommy had been through. 

He repeatedly asked what was wrong. what had happened in that room. He pressed Slightly. but as soon as tommy said he didnt want to talk about that, techno instantly backed off and said its alright. specifically, he said:

“It’s fine, no one recovers in a day tommy. Healing is a long process, it’s fine.”

that shit hit me like a freight train. Mostly i didnt expect anything to come from this stream like that but FUCK LMAO.

The biggest thing is, i think technoblade is going to help tommy heal from the dream shit and get back on his feet. 

but also, even though im not entirely sure i need to see more, tommy will get techno to be more caring. We know philza is the only one techno is really close to, and ghostbur as well. both of which either weren’t involved in betraying techno, or doesnt remember it. i see it pointed out that techno is going at tubbo and his government rather than dream, but i think it makes sense. 

dream technically hasnt challenged techno’s ideals or what he wants; while tubbo stole from him, used him as a weapon, and reinstated a government despite everything techno was saying. 

Tommy took part in betraying him, thats without a doubt. but tommy was also screwed over by the government in place. so techno empathizes with him. maybe they dont fully trust each other, but thats a work in progress. and it will progress to technoblade trusting tommy despite their past, and realizing that dream is in a position of power over Everyone. 

tl:dr: tommy is going to heal with techno’s help and full come to terms with/realize what dream did to him, and techno is going to realize he CAN trust people and that dream has been the one pulling the strings all along

Gale's Story Idea: 'Those of another world must die' or 'Isekai no mono ha shi ke re ba naranai'

(I probably butchered the Japanese. But the point is to give it a light novel title feel)

(Since a few people have been asking what my light novel idea was. I decided to explain it and go a bit more in-depth)

Premise: Rumors have been circulating about a Killer known only as 'Hero Eater' is targeting heroes in the Human Kingdom of Itsumo. But not everything is as it seems, Itsumo has many dark secrets and the kingdom may need a change...

The world of Itsumo.

Now the setting would be similar to most fantasy Isekai worlds. Money consists of Gold, silver, Bronze coins. Platinum coins are for the super rich.

Magic exists, Magical items exist. Levels exist.

There are dragons, goblins, the typical fantasy fair/ D&D/MMORPG feel but with a lot more twists

Summoned Heroes

When it comes to Summoned heroes things get different.

1. 'Heroes from another world' are treated above the standard people. As being summoned from another world gives them stupidly over powered abilities compared to the average citizen of Itsumo. The Elites show them favoritism.

2. Aside from obviously enhanced strength, speed, durability, and magic. They level up faster, have overall higher stats, and Summoned heroes also get some sort of Overpowered ability.

3. These over powered abilities or OPAs are ranked from S to E. Depending on that OPA, determines your lot as a 'Summoned Hero'

4. E's are the lowest. The skill is just slightly useful. Summoned heroes are still MUCH stronger than the average soldier. So these heroes are often brainwashed Coerced and put as soldiers on the front lines, or bodyguards of the elite. (Basically they are just glorified meat shields.)

4.5 There is nothing ranked lower than E. Those summoned ALWAYS have a OPA.

5. C and D Ranks are considered worlds more useful. These heroes depending on their abilities are thrown into a field where their skills can be utilized. These heroes are usually thrown a boon by the king and get funding. These heroes are the ones responsible for the innovations in technology (such as guns, refrigeration, etc). (Though in truth they have done a lot of f***ed experimentation)

6. A and B Rank are considered 'Heroes of the Kingdom'. Those heroes are the ones that you see going around and fighting demon hordes with ease. The ones you see with the harems (usually of whatever their fetish is). They basically have license to do WHATEVER they want, so long as the King doesn't intervene.

7. S Ranks. These summons are incredibly rare, but their skills are 100% broken. To put it in perspective. 1 S Rank hero could easily beat 10 A ranks without breaking a sweat. This is where the OPA's become near god like. Fortunately for some reason, only 7 S ranks can exist in the world at a time. Only when 1 dies can a new S rank otherworlder can appear. Currently the King has some of them watching over different parts of his kingdom. But all of them are considered Legendary.

8. (Little known fact that summoned heroes are often loners, losers, incels, neets, and other lesser freaks of society. Who else would willingly go to another world if their life is actually good?)

9. Some heroes do start out doing good... but power corrupts

Religion:

The Religion of Itsumo in stated by King Tyran. Insists that there is a kind and loving goddess (Named Oveun Ativ) that blesses Itsumo with the heroes that appear. Basically making those from another world as 'Her blessed children'.

So often regular citizens range from worshiping them or at the very least respecting them. (Though this is simply a front, the average citizen HATES these arrogant s***s. Considering the awful stuff they put them through.)

The Church also has a monopoly on Hero summoning. The ritual that they use is as follows.

1. A young girl will be chosen once a year from every village. (basically not where the nobles live.) It was considered a great honor. (and if the town didnt comply the church would inform the king and that town would be burnt down and all of the young maidens there would be brain washed and taken anyway) A maiden will be trained in magic for several years until her 18th birthday. During this time she must not have relations with men, must not touch the blood of an animal, must read the sacred scriptures and serve the church without question. (Indoctrination)

2. According to the church, the Summoning ritual will then have the young Maiden perform the summoning magic in which if performed successfully, will summon the hero and she will take the form of a portal of light which summons him. After which she will ascend and become an angel that serves the goddess. (This is not true. Its a virgin sacrifice. Those girls are killed in a ritual. Its f***ed up what the s***)

3. If a maiden summons a B or A rank hero she is regarded as an example for others to follow. For she clearly followed the doctrine of the church. She was likely Heavily rewarded by the goddess.

4. If a Maiden summoned C or D rank, they are not discussed often except by friends and family.

5. Maidens that summon E ranked Heroes are considered disgraces. Maidens that clearly did not follow the teachings of the doctrine. Their names are stricken from the records.

6. Maidens that summoned an S Rank hero. Are written into the logs as Blessed by the goddess. They are treated like Saints and some worshiped like deities. Some doctrine claim that they serve at the hands of the goddess after achieving this.

Economics

Summoned Heroes basically caused Economic collapse for adventurers.

Summoned heroes often hunt monsters and get rare drops, and often those with rare skills can get much more value than typical adventure guilds.

Merchants initially loved Heroes getting them rare drops but when many other worlders started selling so many Rare drops like they were common... it made rare items worth much less and drove value of such items and materials down dramatically. Newer merchants will rarely buy goods from adventurers because of this.

Blacksmiths and artificers initially also had it great. They now get access to powerful materials for cheap. Since their work is labor intensive the value of the item is much less impacted on the product. Though Other worlders with Craft skills have popped up and open businesses that have been driving other types of stores out of business since they can easily craft higher grade weapons for cheaper and faster thanks to OPAs.

The only real way to make money was in the service industry. With rare items and monsters easily hunted and sold for cheap, Restaurants, inns and Taverns have less of a thin margin. And with Otherworlders constantly moving about, the inns had constant customers. Many of these customers would throw money around and expect to be waited on hand and foot. Inns that had pretty women were often the most popular.

Brothels were very popular among Summoned heroes. Though the places that experienced the most traffic were the ones that had more ... unique characteristics. (Animal ears, pointed ears, Wings, horns.) Beast-kin were often very requested.

Societal Impacts

Women would often try to sleep with Summoned heroes. Children made with those of another world often had a chance of producing offspring with an OPA. Which meant that the kid could have a much better life.

The 'Trope' of offering the daughter for saving them was more of a way to ensure their Family had a better life. But in reality this just meant Summoned heroes often obtained harems. This resulted in declining birthrates as many summoned heroes didnt actually often marry humans. Most would simply keep the harem. Or if they did marry they would often sleep around.

Heroes that dismissed companions often left them as single mothers. Some would be lucky to remarry, but many were left single due to social stigma. The claim is that men felt insecure marrying women that have been with heroes, because how could they compare. (In reality it was more like they felt the woman had little self respect to be willing to partake in a relationship with a hero with a harem.) And the off chance the hero did comeback to the woman to find her married, the new husband was likely slaughtered. (This selfish mentality of treating women as things to be owned was disturbingly common in the summoned heroes mind)

The Main Characters.

Oralee: A maiden that was raised in the church as long as she could remember. Her family had a lot of faith in the church and were honored that she was picked. She followed the doctrine to very high levels. Never ate meat, Never even made contact with another of the opposite sex. She dreamed of summoning an S Rank hero and bringing great honor to the goddess (As a recent S Rank passed away and hasnt been replaced yet). Though the night she along with her fellow maidens were supposed to summon heroes. The 'Hero Eater' arrived and started killing everyone.

Hunter "Hero eater": A high level individual. A skilled fighter with a plethora of weapons in his arsenal. Skilled in strange magic that seems unorthidox yet effective. He wears a skull mask with a black cloak. He wields two daggers. One Named Malice, and the other named Mercy. His goal is to kill every other worlder he comes across. What is his motive? Does he want revenge? Power? Fame? Why did he spare Oralee. What does he look like under that mask?

ML Lies Episode Predictions:

There’s Two?? (don’t trust my math) more days before lies completely destroys me, so I’m going to make some predictions, and by predictions I mean wishlist. My walls are already up, so if none of these happen I won’t be disappointed, but also a girl can dream: (this is somehow 1700 entire words long because I have a lot of feelings, so it’s under a cut, you’re welcome)

—Adrien and Kagami’s are secretly dating: please I want it so bad, I’ve talked about this so much and emotionally I need it!! At the very least I want them to sneak out together so so bad I’d cry. But also, if they’re hiding it from their other friends for whatever reason, thats SUCH good angst potential.

—If we get to see some kinda montage of them sneaking out??? Id ride that high for months. Even just one actual example of them working together to sneak out would obliterate me. Like, how it shows Kagami sneaking out to go to the game in Ikari Gozen?? I’d cry

—The breakup happens as a direct result of it being a secret relationship: this would be SUCH a good parallel to lukanette. Lukanette broke up because Luka wanted Marinette to be more open with him and he hated being in the dark, so just, the parallels if Adrien wants to be more open about adrimi and Kagami is like “you dont understand, if your dad finds out about us he will end this immediately” but Adrien wants to believe that its going to be okay and no one will react badly? I’m probably explaining this badly and I’ll try to explain it better later I just,,, want parallels and opposites and truth v lies and hhhhh

—Fencing??? Friendly/ affectionate competition??? Them being idiot jocks in love??? Please??? I want to see them compete!!

—I’d love to see Kagami character growth + Adrimi relationship development!!! I want her to love herself more and be more comfortable around him!!!

—Specifically, if there was a parallel to Riposte,, and Adrien beat Kagami in a fencing match and Kagami was like “Oh nice!! :D good game!” I’d be so happy I’d cry!! And it’s kinda implied by Chat Blanc that they’re already there in there relationship?? But not confirmed?? So if I saw it or saw confirmation of it I’d cry!!

—in one of the released photos it looked like they were holding hands??? And at this point my expectations are so low I don’t even trust it yet but blease,,, let them hold hands,, i’d cry of joy

—If Adrien is also constantly leaving and disappearing due to akuma responsibilities, I want it to read SUPER differently from the Lukanette because I love parallels/foils!! Marinette disappears on her dates with Luka and its just “oh marinette is really distracted and busy and frazzled” but I dont think Adrimi but be loke that at all!!! Because as far as Kagami knows, she has the same backstory/current story as Adrien. She’s risking a lot by sneaking out to go on dates with him?? So Adrien seeing an akuma and being like “oh sorry father is calling” isnt even suspicious or anything??? Its 100% believable!!! If her mother called she’d immediately be like “oh fricking heck i Need To Leave this instant immediately.” So its less “Adrien doesnt care about her” and more of just twisting the knife and reminding her that life doesnt want them to be together and Adrien is never going to be free!!! Big ouch to her heart!!!

—also I want!!!! Them!!! To talk about their feelings!!! Because parallels to truth!!! Adrien is like “sorry I have to go” and Kagami is like “oh I hate that so much” and Adrien is like “big same.” (Also idk how realistic this is but I’d love it if ‘Kagami talking about her feelings’ wasn’t the cause of strife in their relationship!! Like, she talks about how she feels and when she’s upset and Adrien is like “yeah me too” and they’re just,, good bros)

—I need them to stay friends after the breakup, i need it i need it i need it!!! And the whole issue is!! I feel like the main reason they’d date is to try and hang out more?!?? So if the breakup was actually them talking to each other and being like “hey so this isnt working with sneaking out, we’re going to need to go back to the way it was before,” rather than them saying they were bad for each other???? Hoo boy i’d lose my mind

—Also!!! My favorite prediction, I’d die of joy if this happened (and also of angst). I want there to be so much drama with “secret relatinship” stuff that they try to fix it by going public with their relationship!! Very low chance of this actually happening but its okay if it doesnt, thats what the fanfiction I’m inevitably going to write immediately after watching the episode is for!!! But anyway,, multiple ways this could happen.

Maybe they’ve been secretly dating since Miracle Queen and they decide to go public at the beginning of this episode and that’s the primary source of plot/conflcit!!! I’d be thrilled!!!

BUT!!! if the episode ends with then Not Breaking Up, but instead deciding to go from dating secretly to dating publicly???? Holy Freaking Heck,,, I’d go feral with emotion!!!! I also need to expand on this so much more but basic rundown of how I imagine it could happen (again: Is it likely?? Probably not! but this is my last chance to dream):

Kagami is like “listen we have the same backstory and I KNOW in my soul that this relationship wouldn’t work if it was public”

Adrien is like “okay yeah I feel you, thats fair”

Kagami goes on dates with Adrien and its fun and nice and lovely and the honeymoon phase is so good and exciting

Adrien starts disappearing a lot, partly because of akuma attacks, but partly because of nathalie and gabe calling him constantly

Adrien starts to be like “well actually i think that my dad does care about me probably? And if he knew why I wanted to go he’d let me! Or at least Nathalie would because clearly she cares about me!”

Kagami is like “hhhnngg have you met them?? You think they’d want you to be happy and free??” Except she can’t just SAY that because if she did then she’d be crushing Adrien’s entire heart and possibly also making him get really defensive and he has to come to the conclusion that his parents are good on his own

Kagami also starts to get frustrated with how much more often Adrien has to leave than she does?? And its because of akuma attacks but she doesnt know that and he cant tell her

Adrien starts to get frustrated because he can take the “having to leave for akuma attacks” part but when he finally finishes an akuma battle and Natalie immediately calls him it is just aaaaaAAAAAAAA and he just wants to believe so badly that he could at least take control of that part??? He could at least get Nathalie to help him out??? Probably maybe right???

Because we all know he HATES having to keep secrets from Ladybug, but he’ll do it for her, and he’ll keep his life as Chat a secret, but Kagami??? He should at least be able to talk about that, right?? He’s not doing anything bad/dangerous/etc

Also there could very well be some angst with Adrien being so so worried about Nathalie because she’s bedridden and his dad is being sketchy and he’s SEEN this before and he doesn’t want to be avoiding Natalie or lying to her because what if he loses her too??? He’d feel so guilty! And he needs the support of a parent figure so much,,, so he HAS to tell her the truth

But he respects Kagami’s wishes and he’s not going to betray her trust

But unlike Lukanette, they DO talk about their feelings and they disagree and stuff, and even if he’s trying not to be confrontational, Kagami is like “i can tell youre uncomfortable about something, please just tell me what it is” so he tells her that he disagrees

Kagami gets akumatized?? idk if it’s even been confirmed that she’s the akuma “Lies” but I’d assume she is because parallels to Lukanette

Maybe it happens as a direct result of some moment where Kagami and Adrien are arguing and in the heat of the moment he says something hurtful??

Maybe they’re arguing and then Adrien has to leave before it can resolve and Kagami is mad about it even though shes trying not to be and she gets akumatized???

Maybe she does say something like “bc your dad sucks and nathalie sucks!” and he yells or something (i want to see Adrien yell and be flawed let me live, and this is one of the most likely scenerios for it to happen bc it would HURT for him)

Maybe Kagami shoots back with anger, maybe Adrien’s been calm but Kagami gets mean for a moment, but regardless, Kagami says something about her true feelings of anger at nathalie/gabe/ etc and before Adrien can respond he’s like “oh shoot sorry I need to get home NOW”

Then for one brief second Kagami’s TERRIFIED that he’s going to tell nathalie about this in his anger and then nathalie’s going to be like “oh kagami is clearly bad for you because she made u this upset” and Adrien will LISTEN because hes stupid and he still listens to his horrible adult figures and Kagami is so mad about the entire situation so then in her moment of weakness she gets akumatized

Look at that its a direct opposite of Lukanette because Luka was afraid of Marinette keeping secrets about why she’s always vanishing because he doesnt know and Kagami is afraid of Adrien telling secrets about why HEs always vanishing bc she thinks she does know,,

But anyway, after she gets de-akumatized, she’s so ashamed of it and she can see how far she took it and how many people it hurt,, and Adrien is really sad and apologetic and trying to support her,, and she’s like “no clearly I was actually wrong, keeping this a secret is hurting you and its hurting me and now its hurting random civilians”

So she tells Adrien that they should tell people about it and stop dating in secret

And then multiple possible ending:

Does he say “actually no, youre right, they wouldnt let this happen, so if we cant date in public and dating in secret is hurting us then we shouldnt date at all” and thats how the breakup goes??? That would literally obliterate me

Does the episode end on a false positive where Adrien hasnt told them yet and he is like “yeah this is gonna be great” and there isnt an actual breakup yet?? Because that would also kill me (even though i doubt theyre going to let adrimi take up that much time in the show but, let me dream)

Also if Adrien is like “we shouldnt tell my parents but we should tell someone” and then they tell Marinette and now shes got ANOTHER secret to keep and aaaaaaaAAAAA?? Id die on the spot

I’m still holding out hope that the episode will give me enough crumbs to at least be able to write this better, but regardless of what happens in the episode,,, the chances of me eventually writing fanfiction exploring this are SO HIGH, I’ve been thinking about this for ages

In conclusion:

—no matter what happens in lies, its going to destroy me

—please let them be in a secret relationship it makes so much sense for their characters and for the drama and aaaaAAAAA

—also please give me the parallels to lukanette where their issues are exactly the opposite and it still falls apart

So… you’re asks are on so I assume it’s okay to ask for help or advice but if not please just ignore, no worries ^^

I was raised by very Mormon Mormons and had a bit of a mental breakdown yesterday about if or not it was okay to say I was traumatized or had been in a cult. I know it’s fucked up but those are some pretty heavy labels to use and I don’t want to intrude or trample.

I’m not asking you to diagnose me cause that’s a fucked up to put on a stranger and don’t think anyone but a therapist/psychologist and myself can figure out if I’m traumatized. (I know other people have been traumatized by but my experience hasnt been horrifying so much as misleading and addictive, thinking praying healed my illness but I still get to watch not-gospel approved things and go to medical doctors and therapists and stuff. It’s not affected my life much beyond not smoking or drinking which i wouldnt do anyway for medical reasons.)

Basically, is the lds church a cult or is it just regular religion pain? Sorry for the rambles, I’ve never talked about this before and have zero basis for where I am vs where other ex-members are.

I love getting asks! I'm not often good at giving advice - mostly because my experience of leaving was 15 years ago and predates my queer identity, which means I really don't know what most of the kids leaving the church these days, especially those on tumblr since most of them appear to be queer, are going through - but I'll usually encourage my followers to suggest stuff if I don't feel like my answers are adequate.

Short answer

The word 'cult' has a fairly simple and neutral definition, but you're likely asking me if I think the church is a dangerous organization. I really, really do.

Long answer

I think that the fact that you've had a breakdown over this question is something that could help you find the answer for yourself. Obviously our gut feelings aren't always right, but you clearly feel something is wrong with the church. If it weren't a cult, or at least a big bad organization, do you think they would do so many things that make people suspicious of it? I know we were taught that those feelings come from satan, but I feel it's nothing more than a mechanism of control.

So, what is a cult? The word 'cult' actually has a pretty innocuous definition. Merriam-Webster has a few, the most relevant being:

"a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious."

"great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (such as a film or book)."

"a system of religious beliefs and ritual."

I'm sure there are many innocent organizations that qualify as cults with those definitions, but most people ascribe negative connotations to the word. Wikipedia touches on this, saying, "This sense of the term is controversial, having divergent definitions both in popular culture and academia, and has also been an ongoing source of contention among scholars across several fields of study."

When people say that the lds church is a cult - and many people agree that it is - they mean that the church is a harmful, controlling, and manipulative organization. That is the definition I intend when I use the term.

Now, how do we identify a cult? There isn't an official test, but we do have the BITE Model (Behavior, Information, Thought, and Emotional control). The BITE Model is a list of recruitment and control tactics compiled from research done by psychologists and psychiatrists in the fields of mind control, brainwashing, indoctrination, organizational culture, and cognitive dissonance. It's generally accepted that if your organization meets most of the criteria listed in the BITE Model, it's a cult.

Many of the points within the BITE Model regard personal experience, and personal bias can influence your interpretation. Those who are within the mormon church may only consider the worst possible interpretation of each of the BITE Model points, and neglect to fully appreciate how to apply them to the actions of seemingly innocent church members. By minimizing the responsibility of church members, and the church at large, they invalidate the damage done not only to others, but to themselves.

I haven't written out my own assessment of how the BITE Model applies to mormonism, but John Dehlin, a prominent exmo, has shared his. Dehlin colored the bullet points in the following ways:

Green: “I don’t think the Mormon church does this in modern times.”

Orange: “I see this happening sometimes in the Mormon church (like on Missions), but not as a general rule .”

Red: “This occurs regularly within the Mormon Church.”

Having it 'easy' can make it difficult for us to realize just how insidious certain acts and doctrines of the church can be; it really makes us doubt ourselves and think we're just overreacting. But whether or not the church's teachings were used to abuse you, classifying mormonsim as a cult is pretty straightforward: it is. It alienates it's members, harms those who try to escape, and offensively bewilders those who come across it. It's missionaries and leaders are charismatic and dangerous. It hoards wealth, paying the leadership very well, while still demanding that 10% from it's poorest members. It preys on our weak moments, dangling the carrot of eternal peace if only we suffer and give enough, only to leave us tired and in pain.

No one else can give you permission to feel what you feel. That's something that belongs to you, and your trauma is legitimate.
