Is helldivers 2 good in your opinion? Like would you recommend it to someone who plays warframe bc it looks interesting but idk
ok i gotta preface with a fact that a beloved mutual got me the game so i might be biased when it comes to the price, but here's what i think about it under the cut
tldr: i think it's fun, but a lot of the complaints about the game is that it isnt worth its price, which is very understandable to me
i think the main gameplay of it is pretty good, i like it's "realistic" ammo and constant friendly fire, and i like how stressful some missions can be, but if you wanna play above a certain difficulty you HAVE to have friends or be ok playing with randos. iirc the game kinda goes out if its way to push players into playing with others over solo. i think this bit is pretty annoying bc i like playing by myself sdkjfhs
related to that point randos are a mixed bag. ive encountered a non-zero amount of bad players
unlocking stuff can get VERY grindy. its free, but farming super credits and medals to unlock more stuff is nuts. there are microtransactions to buy super credits but not medals. you also have to grind for some ship upgrades
the balancing is wack and theres a lot of equipment in the game not worth using + sometimes new fun things added to the game can get nerfed to ridiculousness. so sometimes unlocking stuff can be annoying AND not worth it
im bothered that the game doesnt have any sorted matchmaking like some players play for different reasons but this is probably not an issue unique to hd2 lol
it can be pretty glitchy and when it's glitchy it can get.. rough
also bc of recent events hd2 is unfortunately easily fucked over by the whims of sony
so i think its fun but its definitely not without issues

like its really fun to reconstruct your meals to be without alternatives, or at least cutting out most. but sometimes it can be boring
salad with italian dressing i like. crutons that juat happen to be vegan. but no cheese, but thats fine
sandwhich with no mayo but maybe avocado, still expensive but less, but have to prepare more. not too bad. but then no cheese or meat. but onions and pepper and idk could be done
burrito with vegetables chips and tortilla. no sour cream. pretty difficult because the sour cream adds moisture. no meat and cheese is fine. doable but not enjoyable. as in force myself to finish it
pasta with spaghetti sauce easy. bread but no butter, olive oil is fine enough I guess. no mac n cheese unless using nooch. mac n cheese a bust for me
snacks are nuts and chips and crackers and fruit. i start to get antsy and crave brand name snacks could probably manage tho
no ice cream. nice cream takes time.
roasted vegetables are good. no butter
no butter for rice. makes things bland
so overall if someone were like me, theyd get food but itd be depressing
if they were like me and were able to figure what was most important, and what was more manageable then i think theyd be well off
if they are able to splurge then go for it
for me sour cream is a must but i can lessen the amount i use. sandwhich doesnt need meat. roasted vegetable sandwich with cheese onion spreadable garlic sounds good
butter is a must mayo lasts a while like once a month if i focus on diversifying my meals
ice cream isnt necessary.
i have the time to do this. not everyone does it tkaes effort and energy to change stuff like this
because also, cravings and change and all that can be near impossible to deal with!
thats why you have to always check in with yourself. give yourself challenges this is why I say have FUN
Bc if you dont have a legitimate reason for yourself making these changes it just falls flat.
going vegan was easy. but going healthy non alternative plant based is hard.
i usually go good for the first week and then cave. as in processed foods are made to be addicting.
but im able to cut out ice cream bc after a while i stop craving it, as long as im allowing myself some chocolate like chocolate dipped banana or just chips out the bag.
Sour cream i can lessen bc i love going overboard with condiments lol which saves money
i used to use butter a LOT globs on pancakes and bread and in everything. thrn i switched to olive oil sometimes and also realized i used it in things that didnt need it like mac n cheese
like when you get comfy with alternatives (or the real thing) you forget what you can live without its like you just eat without thinking
i had a friend, and ive heard this in other ppl too- going plant based and cutting out cheese and meat even when they were the biggest meat and cheese eater. and didnt realize how much was just habit
and you never know until you keep at it. check in once a month and think about food
theres so many products that come out and its exciting bc i want to try it. and i usually do
i just got like 7 bags of jerky nearly 6 dollars for not that much. its not something i need or even need to be emotionally happy. so when they are gone im going to try and find an alternative to that alternative like make a trail mix
yknow what makes it easier? actually listing the food you eat as meals. being able to visualize it so its not just going off of what your brain tells your stomach and tongue.
or else you end up eating a whole bag of chips instead of just having a side of chips

WHEN YOU NOTICE THE PLOTTING IS RATHER ONE-SIDED, WHAT DO YOU DO?:  i don’t mind! sometimes ppl have more ideas that they want to share first and i’m always super happy to listen to those ideas !! sometimes its nice to have someone with a clear guide or structure and be able to work around that rather than trying to fumble through a plot together.
HOW DO YOU USUALLY PLOT WITH OTHERS, DO YOU GIVE INPUT OR LEAVE MOST WORK TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER?:  i try to map out some basic info abt their characters that i otherwise don’t know from their bio or verses and try to pick out points of confrontation or similarities to expand on with giselle that can be used as points for like a starter to happen. its either that or sometimes i have really stupid ideas i just toss out there like ‘LMAO THEYRE BREAKING SHIT AT DISNEYLAND’ and go buck wild from there if the other person is down. i also always try to warn people or get a gauge for what subjects to avoid and steer clear of considering that giselle is a bit of a Freak(tm) and will say and do bad things.

THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE:   hohoho theres a LOT... uh r*pe/dubcon threads for one, even if yeah i know writing it doesnt condone it, it makes me intensely uncomfortable to put my muse in that scenario, i feel like i have an obligation to like, protect her from that shit you know? racism is one i don’t want to transgress, even though i’m a poc, its not really cathartic or groundbreaking to write abt racism in threads its just... really fucking upsetting. also i know the quincy’s have this very close parallel to the whole n*zi imagery and ideology thing going on and i am not about to start even daring to thread that into my writing or bring those allusions and references of real life tragedies into giselle’s threads. i’ve already talked at length abt exploring giselles trans identity in rp and why im not comfortable doing so, so.... yeah! all those i guess.

ive never got one of these before i feel special!! i couldnt tell if you meant pick out to eat or pick out to not eat so i went with the stuff they remove before they eat it cause i think everyons favourite is the m&ms obviously
Mary: she takes out the peanuts. theres too many of them and they’re her least favourite nut. 
Fred: the dried pineapple (anaphylactic shock is a bitch on the trail) 
Hal: almonds cause the slivers get caught in his teeth
Penelope: everything but the craisins. 
Alice: pretzels. theyre too salty and also have empty calories…. the m&ms can stay though. (more pretzels for hal)

well omnivores actually do know about lots of these but here are some that come to mind:
tofu - everyone knows about this
tempeh - fermented soybeans, originally from indonesia. really versatile. doesn’t contain much moisture so you need to somehow add that when cooking. some people say it has a bitter taste, which can be removed by steaming it first. traditionally it’s fried, and it’s very good fried. super versatile. my favorite
seitan - made out of wheat gluten. one of the few vegan foods that a knife is helpful for eating. can be bought from the store pre-made but cheaper to make on your own, and not very hard. tons of variations, but essentially you mix wheat gluten, spices, and either water or vegetable broth. i’ve seen a recipe with chickpeas added in too. originally from somewhere in china, and i think very popular with buddhists in china? sometimes sold canned as “mock duck meat”. usually when i cook it i make sausage shapes, steam those, let them cool, and then cook them in my meal. great for making in advance!! really popular among vegan bodybuilders because you can buy huge bags of wheat gluten and make it in big batches. and wheat gluten is basically pure protein.
tamales - not a vegan secret, just something i never really ate before i was vegan?? and now its one of my favorites??
thai curry - same
nutritional yeast - gives things a cheesy/umami flavor. great as a topping. also a key ingredient in mac n nuts
boiled cashews - get raw cashes and boil them (or soak them) then blend them. depending on what exactly flavor you’re going for, you maybe add nutritional yeast. add lemon juice for tanginess. if you don’t add nutritional yeast but do add lemon juice it’s kind of like sour cream and i love it on mexican food. or you can just blend the boiled cashews into a soup for added creaminess. great way to make things creamy. you can also do this with other nuts (and sunflower seeds are used by people allergic to nuts). love doing it with pine nuts + silken tofu. the pine nuts in that recipe don’t even need boiled!
soy milk + apple cider vinegar = buttermilk. 
flax seed + water = egg replacement for some purposes
coconut milk - great for adding creaminess to stuff, especially soups. if you put the can of coconut milk in the fridge, when you open it the cream will be on the top and you can use it like whipped cream.
silken tofu in baked goods - i don’t know what this “replaces” but ive had some brownies with this and it’s dang good. btw silken tofu uses a different coagulant than regular tofu and has a creamier texture. it’s traditionally used in japanese foods. it’s sold unrefridgerated.
kala namak aka black salt - traditionally used in indian food. it’s salt with sulfur in it. great if you are missing the eggy taste of eggs
dulse flakes - if you want to add a fishy flavor to things
turmeric - turn ur nuts and cheese yellow lol, very fun to do
avocado on bread - the classic is avocado on toast (i like to add nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper). also good for avocado bruschetta. GREAT to put on an everything bagel.
young jackfruit - huge fruit from southeast asia, but the unripened version is sold canned. similar texture to pulled pork. can be used as a meat substitute but when prepared wrong it’s kind of too sweet. i think you can help fix that by baking it a little first? don’t really know much about cooking it. i think that it’s traditionally used in curries (and probably other stuff) which tbh sounds better to me
clif bars, oreos, ritz crackers, spicy sweet chile doritos - commonly available snacks that are perhaps assumed to be non-vegan.
anything w/ chickpeas tbh i consider to be a vegan classic.
oh, chickpea flour - used in indian cooking, where it’s called besan. used to make omelettes.
that’s all that comes to mind right now! but also kind of in general lots of non-western foods. a lot of omnivores i know have never had so many things and worse than that, are afraid to try things! very helpful when looking for restaurants though, basically anywhere that’s not western has vegan options usually.
oh i should also add lentils?? i feel like omnivores arent as aware of lentils as they should be.

But lets pretend youre going on a road trip to all 50 states. What are the must eat foods in every state? Im glad you asked, as Business Insider went ahead and found what they determined to be the one thing you have to eat in every state (and Washington D.C.).
The criteria?

If theres something that screams, Americana, its a road trip…and food. OK. Maybe its just food.
But lets pretend youre going on a road trip to all 50 states. What are the must eat foods in every state? Im glad you asked, as Business Insider went ahead and found what they determined to be the one thing you have to eat in every state (and Washington D.C.).
The criteria?
They chose the most iconic and famous dishes by taking local recommendations into consideration and picking items you simply can’t get anywhere else.
