it is Extremely funny that the whole watcher thing just ended after one weekend of people being like hey this was poorly thought out and a terrible idea. lmao. cringe fail financial decision.

#i think where they ended up makes plenty of sense! it's just an alternative to patreon tho #like i like their content i'll probably still watch ghost files and mystery files and if they bring back their scary stories one #the one with the cool art not the one where they get drunk I don't like that one as much #but i don't care enough to pay 6 bucks a month #they would have just lost me as a viewer entirely lol #also tbf i have adblock and sponsor block on my youtube so I don't see ads or even sponsored sections of videos #so i'm still not really helping them earn money lol #i just feel like they were aiming for something like dropout which works bc a) the number of projects dropout makes #b) the huge cast across all of their shows #and c) a much more established brand even at the time of their shift to streaming #also the fact that dropout puts out multiple episodes of different shows a week lol #and they needed to go more like mythical society from rhett and link #which is pretty much just patreon with enough extra perks that people are extra inclined to buy into it #like with mythical society people who pay more get physical perks like exclusive merch and free items every few months #plus a ton of extra content like bts stuff and extra episodes of certain things #that's what they should do. imo.#anyway. ive been giggling at this all weekend

Slightly concerned that chapter 2 of my critically acclaimed new fic might be a bit shit...

#dead boy detectives #not SUPER shit #but it's a v diff part of the story #and that slow build of chapter one isn't really present here #it's more meandering with lulls in the tension/stakes #and idk a bit formless #and I'm getting in my head about it a bit bc tbh it's longer than I intended #like it's gotten so big that I'm probs gonna up the chapter count from 3 to 4/5 #and I'm like ok but does it need all this extra stuff or is it a rambling boring waste of time?#this is what happens to my head when I let a one-shot idea spin out lmao #like I know lots and lots of people (including me) are more than happy to read fic that's like #basically just character moments/interactions with no plot or slow/plodding plot #but i feel like the creepy tense ghost story vibe of chapter one might have given people expectations that the rest of the fic will be that #and i'm gonna be real with you. the ENTIRE purpose of this fic is so I can write One Scene in the last chapter #everything else including themes and motifs have grown out of that #and I have no idea if they're gonna hang together in the end #ugh i'm gonna have to finish/post c2 soon before i get REALLY in my head about it and bury it #i have one more section to write i think #and then an edit #if anyone who doesn't mind spoilers wants to read it and tell me if it's horribly boring please dm me lmao #(it's chapter 2 of Lonely Bones if that wasn't clear)#mr. bees speaks

grit gate is the worst story dungeon i think

#red rock gets a pass for being an optional starter quest #rusted arch is similarly optional but a nice combination of brief+worthwhile for true kin #grit gate is just huge easy & bland. its comparable to the tomb of the eaters in size but with no real implications following from that #which is extra weird given the mandatory section of the dungeon is only 5 floors #just a lotta filler to it i guess. at least it can be a good spot for finding gear #also crazy enemy density. you're not gonna get killed unless you're there super early but it's like the fucking thunderdome down there #(omitting story dungeons i think are cool [everything post- grit gate] from this discussion)#caves of qud #bones.txt

my job as a sub teacher often makes me brainrot scenarios of ‘zuha interacting with kids/being a teacher …

like he’s so kind hearted by nature that i can just imagine him being super patient and gentle with children and naturally, all the kids love him. if they see him in the hallways they’ll instantly run up to give him a hug, wave or call out his name🥹

the kind of teacher who plays with with his students during recess or does activities ( especially arts & crafts ) alongside them. he very much has an emotional connection with the kids which is why so many love him! including the parents !!
