I just saw your post about Kataang kiss under the tag #Zuko. Have you ever like kissed anyone? Do they always ask “can I kiss you” or something? These two like each-other. Katara even suggested first that they should kiss at the cave of two lovers. It’s not like some of you don’t scream happily when Zuko kisses and leaves her surprised in those Zutara fics. I love both ships, but Aang did nothing wrong :)

Let’s review the scene leading up to the kiss in question:

Aang: But it's true, isn't it? We kissed at the Invasion, and I thought we were gonna be together. But we're not. Katara: Aang, I don't know. Aang: Why don't you know? Katara: Because, we're in the middle of a war, and, we have other things to worry about. This isn't the right time. Aang: Well, when is the right time? Katara: Aang, I'm sorry, but right now I'm just a little confused. Aang tries to kiss Katara. Katara: I just said I was confused! I'm going inside. [Exits the balcony.] Aang: Ugh, I'm such an idiot! [Puts down his head on the balcony railing.]

As to your point “these two like each-other”, while in the finale episode Katara indicates to Aang that she returns his romantic feelings, in this scene Katara does not confirm if she likes Aang in a romantic way. That’s part of Aang’s frustration - he isn’t sure if Katara likes him back or not. Katara says she doesn’t think now is “the right time” and that “right now I’m just a little confused”. Regardless of if Katara wants to pursue a relationship in the future, she makes it clear that she does not want to do so at this moment.

“Aang did nothing wrong.” Yes, he did. Katara said she did not want to discuss a romantic relationship right now, but Aang ignored that and kissed her anyway. Katara reaffirms that she is not interested right now by breaking off the kiss immediately after Aang starts it, angrily telling him “I just said I was confused!” and then running away. These are not the behaviors of someone who is happy to have just been kissed.

Contrast this with Sokka’s initial rejection of Suki in “The Serpent’s Pass”:

Suki: I lost someone I care about. He didn't die, he just went away. I only had a few days to get to know him, but he was smart and brave and funny ... Sokka: [Jealous.] Who is this guy? Is he taller than me? Suki: No, he's about your height. Sokka: Is he better-looking? Suki It is you, stupid! Sokka: Oh! The two prepare to kiss, but Sokka pulls back at the last moment. Sokka: I can't. Suki: I'm sorry. Sokka: No, you shouldn't be. [Exits.]

Suki has expressed that she’s interested in Sokka, and Sokka has shown signs that he returns her feelings. But when Sokka turns away before they kiss Suki does not push him. Instead she apologizes. Even though they both like each other Sokka’s decision not to kiss Suki is a clear “not right now” and Suki respects that choice. Suki even apologizes again later in the episode; “Listen, I'm really sorry about last night. We were talking ... and saying things ... and I just got carried away and before I knew it -”. She thought Sokka was giving his consent, but when he pulled away, Suki realized that he never explicitly did, and recognizes that she may have misread his verbal and nonverbal cues. While as an audience we know that Suki did not misinterpret how Sokka was feeling and that his hesitation was due to Yue instead, Suki does not know this. Her behavior is very appropriate for someone who thinks they have been rejected romantically and that they have overstepped, but who wishes to maintain a positive friendship with someone.

Sokka cuts off Suki’s second apology with a kiss. In this case, a surprise kiss is okay. He has confirmation of Suki’s feelings for him, and is positive that Suki is interested in pursuing them because she tried to kiss him the night before. So in response to your question, in real life consent does not necessarily always appear in the form of a literal question “hey can I kiss you?” (although a verbal confirmation is a good idea if you want to be sure), but in that case consent should be very obvious in other ways. “Not right now” and “I’m just a little confused” are not in a murky grey area, Katara is actively denying consent, but Aang ignores her. The show should have handled this by including a scene later where Aang and Katara talk about what happened, and Aang apologizes for pushing her. In the interest of a Kataang endgame, it could then have been followed up with Katara saying that she thinks she may like him back, but she  isn’t sure and really doesn’t want to start anything right now either way, and Aang saying he’ll wait for her to to decide before bringing it up again, and that he’ll respect the choice she makes.

This is a topic I’ve given a lot of thought, so thanks for your question and giving me the chance to elaborate on it!

summary: Zuko and Princess celebrate the opening of her new water bending school

~ part of the fire lilies series ~

You rise before the sun to prepare for the busy day ahead of you. You’d only been crowned Chief two months ago but already you found yourself busy with countless tasks and duties assigned to you by your people. However, you gracefully took each challenge head on, and despite being home for such a short time you’d already accomplished so much.

With the help of your friends you’d managed to dethrone Koa and begin a new era of peace and rebuilding in the South; there was much to do and no time to waste when it came to helping your people, and with assistance from Pakku and members from your sister Tribe you were able to begin the period of growth in no time. Aid had been sent out to the smaller tribes who were being looked after and rebuilt by the men who wished to rectify their wrongs after turning against their Princess in support of the former advisor. Leading them was Hakoda, Sokka and Katara’s father as well as your new advisor. Already the outer tribes were beginning to grow, and with that growth came the discovery of the next generation of water benders.

Before his departure back to the Earth Kingdom Sokka had helped you construct the plans for your new water bending school, and with two months having come and gone the structure was almost complete. Another day or so and you’d be ready to begin your teaching— both younger children of your tribe and a few migrants from the South would be your students, and with Master Pakku’s help you had no doubt your school would be a success.

Many sleepless nights and countless hours of work came with being the Chief of a tribe that was attempting to rebuild itself, yet you still made sure to send letters to Zuko whenever you could. You swore to him before his leave back to the Fire Kingdom that you’d reply to his letters and inform him of any more trouble you faced, and so you found yourself writing back and forth with your boyfriend at least three times a week thanks to your shared messenger hawk. You would have preferred to meet in the secret tunnel, but both of you were much too busy now to escape to your hideaway, so you settled for communication through scrolls.

The sun is just beginning to rise as you adorn the Chieftain necklace and allow the Water Tribe emblem to fall proudly against your chest. Your father would have been proud, and you wish he could see all the things you’ve accomplished for your people.

You slip on your parka and give a wistful glance at the portrait of Zuko that sits on your dresser (a portrait that is accompanied by the doll he’d given to you long ago) before making your way towards your office to get started on the plans for the day. The early mornings were always reserved for scripts and scrolls, it made things more organized and helped the plans ease along nicely, and it also allowed you some quiet time to yourself before you were pulled every which way throughout your day.

You’re not sure how long you sat with your nose buried in paperwork, but by the time your mother steps into your office the morning sun is high in the sky and your people have begun their tasks for the day. She smiles fondly and approaches with a cup of tea in her hands, the cup being a part of the china set Iroh had sent Zuko with months before.

“Well you’re up awfully early,” she notes while carefully setting your tea before you.

“I have a lot to catch up on before the opening of the new school. Pakku brought me a list of possible students and I’m going through each and every one to make sure their needs will be met if they choose to participate in lessons.”

“About that...”

“What?” You prod, immediately looking away from your paperwork and towards your mom. She has a giddy smile on her face and a glint in her eye that she fails to hide from you.

“Would you like to go for a walk? I think we should go for a walk,” she replies, quickly changing the subject and hoisting you out of your seat before you can even comprehend what’s happening.

“Mom!” You try to interject, but she simply brushes off your comments and concerns.

“It really is so nice out today,” she hums gleefully. Guards gift you friendly smiles or respectful bows as you pass, and outside the palace you are greeted with excited commotion.

“What the flameo is going??” You say exasperated. Your gaze settles upon your school in the distance and a confused frown etches itself across your features at the sight of a crowd around the building. You weren’t exactly expecting any students just yet, and the school wasn’t meant to open for another day or two. You also weren’t sure why exactly there was a blanketed structure in the courtyard of the school; you hadn’t authorized any additional features, so what was it?

“Took you long enough,” Pakku greets you both with a smile. Little children stand around him and look upon you with pure glee and excitement. You recognize a few of them from your list, but you hadn’t even reached out to their families yet to ask for permission for their participation in your water bending lessons.

“Can someone please tell me what’s going on here?” You plead desperately. Pakku and your mother grin.

“Why, we’re celebrating the opening of your new school, of course,” he says as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“The opening? But nothing’s ready!”

“Actually, everything is ready,” your mother corrects with a smile. “You’ve been so busy running around trying to get everything in order, so Pakku and I took it upon ourselves to finish up the school for you. All you have to do is say the word and your water bending school will officially be open!”

“Well, we did have some help from the Fire Lord...”

“Zuko?” You retort with furrowed brows. “How did Zuko help?”

“You’ll see,” your mother replies giddily. “Are you ready to open your school?”

It takes you a moment to process the whirlwind of information that’s been given to you in a matter of minutes, but you can’t deny the relief you feel at knowing that the work has been taken care of for you. The first promise you’d made as Chief was to restore water bending in your tribe, and to know you were mere moments away from completing the task was a weight lifted off of your shoulders. All the little children look upon you eagerly, and it’s with a confident smile that you look to your people that have gathered around the school and proudly hold your head up high.

“As Chief of the Southern Water Tribe, it is my great honor and pride to announce the official opening of our school for water benders,” you announce. Your mother beams with pride at the sight of your first big accomplishment as Chief as she gives an agreeing nod to Pakku.

“And to celebrate this great achievement, we have a gift for Chief y/n,” he adds. Your brows furrow in confusion.

“A gift?” You repeat, watching as he pulls a scroll from his coat and begins to read off of the paper.

“I, Fire Lord Zuko, would like to show my excitement and support for the rebuilding of the Southern Water Tribe by offering this gift for Chief y/n. I know it’s impossible to capture her real life beauty, grace, and compassion, but I believe this gift does a pretty good job of displaying her greatness for all to see.”

The blanket is removed from the structure, and all including you gasp in awe at the sight before you; a statue in your likeness stands in the center of the courtyard. Your face holds a warm and benevolent smile, your head held high with a fire lily neatly tucked into your hair, and your hands are held out before you right on top of left as a circle of water swirls in between them. You look regal, elegant, like a perfect Princess and water bender.

“I... I can’t believe it,” you murmur in awe. Your mother smiles.

“Zuko sent me a letter a few weeks back to tell me he planned on commissioning a statue for you— a gift for your accomplishments. I told him it was a wonderful idea and agreed to have it sent here the moment it was finished to celebrate the opening of your school.”

“It’s beautiful,” you say with a teary eyed smile.

“You know, that Zuko is quite the catch. Does he know you’re of marrying age?” Your mother asks with a sly smile.

“Mom!” You exclaim embarrassed. She laughs.

“What? It doesn’t hurt to ask.”

“It’s a little too early for that,” you reply with a sheepish laugh. “Besides, I’ve still got a lot of work to do.”

“You’re right about that,” Pakku says, pulling you aside. “Are you ready to meet your new students, Chief y/n?”

“Actually,” you reply with a coy smile, casting a glance towards your statue, “it’s Sifu y/n when class is in session.”

“Sifu y/n it is,” he agrees with a smile before guiding you into the school to begin training your new students.

Ever After High x Twisted Wonderland AU  Headcanons part 10: Milton Grimm’s and Snow White’s last stand and downfall

So I put a pause to the characters profiles headcanons to make this more continuity headcanons related part.

It will focus on Milton Grimm's and Snow White's last aptempt to get Raven back to EAH which will lead to their downfall.

-So at EAH Milton Grimm is becomming quite deseparated: he lost most of his students, the majority of his teachers leaved to teach at others schools and his public image is degrading day by day.

-And for Snow White things aren’t better either, despites her best efforts to keep the upper hand in all this mess her public image is stained.

-The two don’t know what to do, if only they could bring Raven back and made her sign the book then surrely things would go back the way they were.

-That when Milton Grimm got an idea, maybe if they use one of Raven’s worst fear against her they will get her to sign the book, but to put that plan in motion he need to find the true storybook of legends and quick!

-After searching thoroughly in the whole school he finally found the book under the floor of the former dorm room of the Evil Queen and the Red Riding Hood.

-Milton immediately contacted Snow White and the two begin to plotting their newest plan.

-Meanwhile at NRC everyone was very busy, ‘cause the international magical shift tournament was about to take place on the school’s grounds, many schools from the country and from other lands were going to participate and NRC was making sure to have everything ready for the tournament.

-Since she join the magical shift club Ramona participate in the tournament with the school’s team.

-Raven with her friends assist at the tournament to show support to the school team with the others students.

-However Blondie was acting strangely, some time after the begining of the event she seemed rather nervous and jumpy but everytime someone asked her if she was alright she would always answer she’s alright.

-Everything seemed fine until two unwelcomed faces show up: Milton Grimm and Snow White.

-Raven become very nervous when she saw them and her friends, classmates and dormmates quickly between Raven and the two new comers two protect Raven from them.

-When asked what they are doing here Snow White and Milton Grimm with a serious face tell Raven that Apple is no more, she “go poof” because of Raven’s refusal to accept her destiny and that the only way to make her come back is to sign the storybook of legends and to become the next Evil Queen.

-Raven’s friends are outraged they yell at the duo calling what they say a bluff and telling them to leave Raven alone.

-And Raven... She was stunned, she was like a statue, her eyes wide in shock and horror and to everyone’s she snap.

-All her guilt, her stress, her distress, and sadness were released in a heartbreaking scream, the others tried to calm her down but it was no use, Raven’s negative emotions were unleashed making her overblot(see headcanons special 2 )

-Now Apple “going poof” is obviously a lie, she’s very well alive but her role in those events depend of the path whoever use this AU choose for Apple’s fate.

-If it’s follow the “Apple’s happily ever after” path: Apple don’t know a thing about the plan since after her parents’s divorce she left the White Kingdom with her father and go to a new school.

-In fact she was present at the international magical shift tournament as a player ‘cause when she joined her new school she took interest in magical shift and so decided to join her school’s team and she found out she was good at this sport and loved play it.

-Blondie spotted her at the tournament but since the wounds of the abuse were still open Blondie got scared and quickly leave which explain why Blondie seemed so nervous.

-But while the others were fighting against overblot Raven, Blondie knew what must be done in order to fix this mess so she gather up her courage she quickly go find Apple.

-She found her with her magical shift team helping to evacuate people to safety and after a little akward moment Blondie recompose herself and tell Apple what her mother and Milton Grimm had done.

-When hearing this Apple was horrified and angry, how could her mother do this?

-So she follow Blondie to where the others were doing their best to heal Raven from her overblot form and when Raven was weakened but not turned back yet in her normal form Apple throw herself to Raven, trapping her in a hug while yelling with tears in her eyes like “Raven please come back! None of what my mother said is true! Look at me I’m right here, I didn’t “go poof” it was all a lie! I’m so sorry you don’t deserve any of this please!”

-Raven just stood here shocked, Apple was there and very real, bursting in tears she go back to her normal self while hugging back Apple.

-The others gatered around them to make sure both girls were okay relieved to see Raven being back to normal but this relievement was cut short by Snow White and Milton Grimm being their idiots self, with Snow White blathering critics to her daughter and trying to convince her to go back to her side again while Milton Grimm was blathering about their destinies needed to be done which made Apple mad to the point she snap.

-She screamed at Milton Grimm and her mother telling a powerfull “the reason why you suck” speech telling how fed up she was with their non-sense and even tell her mother she disown her.

-This stunned completly Snow White and Milton Grimm they try to justify themself to convince Apple to change her mind not noticing a very furious Crowley and police officers with him.

-When he confront them Crowley told the duo he was fed up with their behavior and he will make sure to take actions to have them banned from his school and the whole Twisted Wonderland world.

-Of course Snow White and Milton Grimm didn’t like this at all and started being outraged like “how dare you?”, “You have no right to do this!” and even tell him it’s his and his school fault for even making Raven’s transfer to begin with which make Crowley shake his head in disappointment and tell them “No wonder Bella and Brutta Sister have done everything they can to get away from the Ever After world!”(There’s going to have a headcanons part about Bella and Brutta Sister soon! 😉)

-Milton Grimm and Snow White shocked by the fact Crowley know about the two sisters tried to get answers from him but were took away by the authorities.

-Aftermath Raven was send to the infirmary and while her recovery Apple, her and all the others EAH students got a long talk about everything what happened and while they’re not friends again yet they’re in a process of reconciliation which for Apple is a good start.

-Meanwhile things turned for the worst for Snow White, with the mess they created they have been officially banned from the Twisted Wonderland world and the people of the Ever After world are beyong pissed at them to the point a revolution against Snow White burst out and both her and Milton Grimm were arrested and a temporary gouverment was founded.

-At their trial Snow White is destitute from her queen title, Milton Grimm is stripped from his headmaster title, Ever After High is shut down and the duo is exiled from the kingdom.

-And so both Snow White and Milton Grimm are chased from the White Kingdom with both one objective: make Raven Queen and the whole Twisted Wonderland world pay for their humiliation.

- If it’s follow the “Apple’s badly ever after” path: Apple is 100% involved in the plan.

-She was tasked to stay in her room and to not come out unless her mother or Milton Grimm told her to do it.

-But being the delusioned nutjob she is, she decided to make some videos for her social medias.

-Said videos were saw by Blondie when she was looking on her mirrorpad which explain why she seemed so warry.

-After the battle against overblot Raven, the others try to talk to Raven but she’s still plagued with guilt believing Apple diseappered because of her.

-Thankfully Blondie remember the videos and posts Apple posted on her social medias just today so she showed the posts and videos to Raven to show her Milton Grimm and Snow White lied to her.

-When she saw this Raven was relieved and angry at the same time and confronted both Snow White and Milton Grimm about what they tried to do, which quickly turned into a screaming match between the two idiots and Raven and her friends.

-Crowley’s intervention is the same than in the “Apple’s happily ever after” path including the White Kingdom’s people’s revolution and Milton Grimm’s and Snow White’s arrestation, trial and exil.

-The only difference in this path is during the revolution Apple was taken by the authorities of the temporary goverment and was put in the care of her father but because of how crazy she become her father got no choice but to put her in a mental institution hopping she would be heald someday.

-At the mental institution since Apple was crazy magical inhibitors were put on Apple so like this she wouldn’t go overblot.

Ursa doesn't find out about Ozai's plan. Ozai goes through with it. Zuko is dead, Azulon is dead soon after, Ozai is Fire Lord with Ursa at his side.

Agni is not so happy to find his champion killed at age eleven.

So instead, he sends the boy off on a spirit quest to prove himself worthy of life once more.

But Raava's champion is not in contact, Oma's is too much, Shu's is in a bad position, Athe's is too, as is La's...

So, Agni sends the eleven-year-old spirit of Prince Zuko to the champion of Tui, Princess Yue, the moment that Avatar Aang reawakens. The problem? Zuko's a SPIRIT. And a child. And the only one who can see him is Yue.

Basically a "Ozai actually does kill Zuko but Agni is having none of it so when Aang returns he uses the boost in spirit magic to send Zuko's spirit to Yue. Yue takes this eleven-year-old-boy-that-only-she-can-see and decides 'yes this is my new emotional support firebender' and the two get closer and closer until the Gaang finally arrives in the Northern Water Tribe and shit hits the fan" AU. So, all-in-all, a Yue-Zuko-bonding adventure featuring confused bb! Zuko and will-kill-anyone-and-everyone-who-hurts-her-little-fire-ghost-boy! Yue
