just in case you want to see the part one!
Tumblr media
– zhongli
when the child hugged him, his eyes widened. “..dear, i promise you, this is not my child—” he said, wanting to make things clear up for you so that you won’t overthink.
“hey, zhongli,” you rested your palm on his cheeks to make him look up to you. “it’s okay. i know that and i trust you, okay?”
zhongli smiled. this is one of the main reasons why he loves you. you’re so understanding and seem to be so perfect for him, as if he doesn’t deserve you. zhongli kissed you on your lips despite the child looking at the two of you.
“i love you,” he said.
“i love you more.” you smiled. “now we go find the child’s parents, okay?”
– xiao
xiao’s jaw dropped when the little girl hugged him tightly with a cute smile carved on her lips.
“oh? i thought you don’t like mortals?” you jokingly made your tone serious. “i didn’t know that your dislikes with mortals would make you come inside someone else’s womb?”
“b–but i also have a clear memory and i haven’t done whatever you’re saying—come inside someone else’s womb.” he defended himself, still quite flustered because he got somewhat overwhelmed.
you giggled. “i’m joking, xiao. but you haven’t had…” your mouth mouthed sex, trying to control your language in front of the kid. “with someone..?” you whispered.
“shut it, (y/n).” his face reddened, and you proceeded laughing at him yet found him adorable.
– kaeya
“you–” you tilted your head in confusion. you knew kaeya loved you so much, and he proved it to you that you’re his everything. let’s say you were having trust issues (just quite) when you saw the little girl hugging him tightly.
“there is no actual way that she’s your daughter.” you continued your sentence.
“she is,” kaeya said, looking at the cute little girl. “in fact, she’s my third daughter.”
you also knew that kaeya was a man who tells RIDICULOUS jokes. you glared at him—not just glared—death glare would fit nicely.
“i’m joking, darling.” he kissed the side of your forehead. “you know i couldn’t do that. i love you.”
your lips curved into a smile. you’re very down bad to him, and it’s making you insane.
– baizhu
“dear,” he looked at you sadly, afraid that you might get clouded with your emotions, and you would misunderstand it. “it’s not what you think—”
you smiled, making baizhu’s stomach drop. “i know, i know.” you kissed his head to assure him that you wouldn’t think anything differently.
“i want you to explain this, though..” you added, slightly with a frown.
“i’ve never experienced this until now,” he sighed. “this little girl must be lost and i might look like her dad.”
you smiled. “okay. we’ll look for her parents together.”
his facial expression softened at your retort. you had no idea how much baizhu felt you’re an angel coming from the heavens. he kissed you on your forehead. “alright. i love you.”
– itto
“eh—” his face reddened when the little girl clinged to him. “d-do i look like a father—?”
you shrugged, trying not to laugh.
“are you mad?” he asked. itto didn’t want to show his face. it hinted at a slight terrified look. he didn’t want to lose you.
you shrugged again, refusing to reply.
“t—this is not mine! i—i swear!” he stammered. the panic in his face started to be visible. “i—i don’t even remember liking someone else…”
“i was just joking. of course i trust you.” you laughed, kissing his cheek. he blinked rapidly as his face became redder and redder.
oh, he looked so cute.
– albedo
“whose child is this?” albedo asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
you blinked. “shouldn't i be the one asking? the little girl called you her daddy.”
albedo shrugged. “don’t remember having sexual intercourse with someone else.”
you sighed. you were kinda expecting albedo to give you slight affection just to prove that he wouldn’t do anything like this with someone else, and he only liked you. well… this is albedo for you.
“okay.” you slightly frowned. “let’s find her parents.”
albedo looked at you, inserted you with a soft smile. “i love you. i hope that clears your mind.”
albedo also knew how to read someone else’s mind.
– cyno
cyno wasn’t hugging the girl back.
“why are you ignoring her?” you asked.
“not my child.” he deadpanned.
“give her affection, you silly.” you laughed.
“i ain’t going to do something that would make you mad.” he declared. “i love you but you’re kinda hard to please. it’s hard to apologize to you when you’re mad or disappointed.”
you couldn’t help but laugh. you hugged cyno from the back and kissed his cheek. “i love you too. i’m not going mad, baby.”
cyno smiled, but he couldn’t help but sigh after. “alright.”
– dainsleif
"too bad. if this is our little girl, she would definitely be spoiled." he sneered, kissing your cheek.
this what made you love him. he's so perfect. you love him and how he makes you calm down. you enjoyed his kiss with a smile, shutting his eyes.
"you want babies?" you teased.
"as long as they're ours, my love."
you smiled sweetly, kissing him on his lips. "find her parents. i'll stay here to buy the stuff you need."
"okay, love you." he smiled. dainsleif whispered something to the little girl that made the two of them wave at you as they disappeared to your sight.

Tumblr media
✿.*・。 ꒰ m! reader, slight yandere! aizen. ꒱
ʚɞ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ WHAT was this? This wasn’t a part of his plan. How could he fall for someone as innocent and pure as you? You were naive in every way possible, from your doe-like eyes to your bright demeanor. He loved it. He couldn't think of anyone as handsome as you. Your beautiful brown complexion, that would shimmer in the sunlight and be so tender to the touch, was extremely attractive to him. He could gaze into those big e/c orbs for hours on end without growing tired of them because they could not overwhelm him. Another reason he enjoyed being around you was that you were such a delightful, well-kept person who disliked dirt. No one couldn’t tell him otherwise that you were perfect for him.
He originally wanted to terminate the emotion by killing you, but as soon as he reached for his sword, an awful ache in his chest demanded he stop. Even with all his effort, he was unable to hurt you. He thought it was odd, he never felt this way before, especially for a man. When you were around, his face heated up and his chest began to pound loudly. The feeling was strange, but it felt wonderful. People noticed that the captain acted friendlier than normal when he was around you. He laughed at all of your jokes, followed you around like a lost puppy, and gave you goodnight hugs that would last for around five minutes. When his lieutenant questioned him about it, he swiftly dismissed it and said that you and him were just close friends. But everyone knew that was all a lie.
Because of you, he could tell Byakyua didn't like him. Byakyua was like a brother to you because you had known him for the majority of your life; which explained why he was so overprotective. Aizen would frequently overhear your and his chats when you two were having tea. Byakyua frequently commented that because he was a captain and somewhat unusual, so you should avoid getting too close to him. However, you would dismiss it and claim that he was merely being polite to you and had no hidden agendas. Of course, Byakyua was bothered. Because of his behavior and the way you would respond to it, he didn't enjoy how people would mistake you and the captain for a couple. Obviously, you ignored what he had to say. Aizen made you happy and brought your comfort when needed. So why would you avoid interacting with him? Aizen claimed that he was acting dramatically once more and didn't understand what he was saying.
Being the day of Rukia's execution, it was one of those days when you needed comfort the most. Even if what she did was wrong, you couldn't bear to witness the death of your dear sister. Aizen decided to take you out to the garden to cheer you up and help her in picking flowers rather than letting you stay around all day gloomy and moping (which was uncommon). He watched as you walked through the garden to collect the new flowers that had grown over the previous two weeks. He smiled softly at how you held the flowers up to your nose to give them a short whiff but ended up sneezing. 'How adorable.' He raised the teacup to his lips, the sweetness of the tea gave him a warm sensation in his chest as he thought to himself. His eyes softened when he turned to face you again and saw you walking while carrying a bouquet of vibrantly colored flowers that perfectly complemented your personality. "Captain Aizen! Do you think she’ll like these?" The warm tingling on the man's cheeks started to appear after you gave him the vibrant plants and sat down next to him.
"I told you it's okay to call me Sōsuke when we're alone, and yes, they're stunning." He took one of the flower from the bouquet to place in your hair. When the breeze swept past your hair at the perfect time, you push the frizzy locks behind your ear. Making you appear heavenly. At that moment, Aizen felt his breath hitch in his throat. He couldn't count on his fingers how many times you looked effortlessly handsome. "I apologize, Ai-Sōsuke." You stopped mid-sentence to correct yourself and giggled when a group of butterflies started flying around your head. Considering that when he found you, you were crying and holding your knees to your chest, the man thought it was good to see you smiling again. He vividly recalled the time he spotted you crying because you were being laughed at by other shinigami and he hated seeing you upset. He murdered each and every one of them on that particular day. Nobody could make fun of his darling and get away with it.
"It's all right, my dear." Your delicate doe eyes returned to his as he caressed your cheek. Oh he loved it when you stared into his eyes like that, so innocent without a care in the world. No one else deserved to stare in his direction, but you. Everyone else wasn't worth a lick of your attention; he wanted to be the only person you gazed at. He observed as your lips raised to create the dazzling smile you struggled to conceal. He never stated it out loud, but he hated when you were overly kind with other people. He wanted to be the only one who received your smile. They didn’t deserve your kindness, no one did, no one but him. Even though you two weren't dating, he made sure to get rid of the repulsive shinigami who had asked you out. He would be lying if he said he wasn't possessive of you. Even if it meant eliminating each of them individually, he refused to let them corrupt you given that he knew what they wanted from you.
The lovely moment was cut short before you could respond when he started to pick up the faint sound of footsteps. Which belonged to none other than Hinamori, his lieutenant. "Captain Aizen! The Head Captain has called a meeting with everyone." He paid her no attention as she spoke. You were something heavily more important than that. The attractive man's breathtaking brown eyes fixed upon on your lips before staring back into your eyes, making your cheeks warm up. "Head Captain needs you, S-Sōsuke." You whispered and turned your eyes away as he sighed. "Oh, I see. Once I come back I would like to talk to you about something extremely important. See you until then, my angel." He took your hand from your lap and gave it a brief kiss, startling both Hinamori and you. "O–Okay!"
Tumblr media
ʚɞ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ AS you slept soundly in the king-sized bed, Aizen's finger stroked the bandage covering your forehead. He saw as you unintentionally leaned into his contact as the palm of his hand soothed your cheek, which was stained with dry tears. "I'm sorry, darling. It had to be done." You stirred in your sleep as a result of him kissing your forehead, then you opened those stunning e/c eyes he adored so much. "Sōsuke?" Your eyes widened as you noticed that the man in front of you wasn't the one you had previously seen. As you quickly sat up from the bed and moved away from the man, you nearly fell off. When he saw how you moved away from him, Aizen's gaze saddened. Had Gin struck you so hard that you had forgotten what he looked like? If so, he will pay. "Hello, my beloved. I’m not going to hurt you." He opened his arms up, his eyes softened when you hastily crawled closer to him, arms wrapping around his neck tightly.
"W–Why did you do that Sōsuke? Why did you let Gin hurt Byakyua? Why did you betray Soul Society? What did you take from Rukia? Why did you take me?" He frowned as you questioned him nonstop while tears started to form in your eyes. Even though you were crying, you still managed to look like the most beautiful person he had ever seen. He wiped away the tears with his thumb. "It's because I love you, Y/n. Unfortunately, I had to use force since I knew that if I asked you to come with me, you wouldn't. You didn't deserve to be there or to have that thing's control over you. You weren't deserved by them neither. We are far more superior than them. I am able to provide for you in ways that far exceed your wildest desires. I will give you a throne next to mine when you agree to be my prince. They are unable to provide you with that, unlike me." Your plump bottom lip was stroked by his thumb as he restrained himself from giving you the most passionate kisses.
Your heart began to beat rapidly as your eyes widened. But it was wrong; he was now the enemy and traitor of the Soul Society. But despite how much you wanted to do it, you were unable to punch, swear at, or reject him. He wasn't going to let you go, even if you did. This was the same person that was so kind and gentle with you but quickly took out most all the captains. "Sōsuke, I love you as well. But could you promise me something?" His hands stroked l your cheeks, as you looked into his warm, brown eyes. "Anything, my dove." He said calmly, "I'll keep a promise for you if it means keeping you happy and at peace."
"Please promise to me that you won't harm Byakyua or Rukia. And with no complaints, I'll be your prince." You took his hand into yours and gave it a tight and reassuring squeeze. Aizen mentally groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose; he knew it would go like this. Your heart was going to explode from how much you loved them. He once considered killing them as a result of how frequently you mentioned them. "All right, I promise. I won't harm them. My prince, I assure you." He placed a kiss on your cheek, If he wasn't going to damage them then someone else would do it in his place.
He chuckled as his hand grasped your face to force you to look at him. You gave him an adorable grin and rubbed your nose against his cheek. "You have such gorgeous lips, sweetheart." His eyes swept over your lips before returning to your eyes. His thumb continued to slide across it while he spoke. He pushed his thumb past your lips and into your mouth, causing you to slowly suck on it. Before taking out his thumb, Aizen bit his lip. He couldn't take you at this time. As his hands pulled you onto his lap, he instead smashed his lips against yours. His tongue quickly slipped past your lips as the wet muscle invaded your mouth. When you whimpered and pulled on his collar pleading for more, his hold on your waist grew tighter. He started groping your thighs and ass, followed by forcing you to grind your groin into his while your body started burning up. You uttered yet another string of sinful moans in his mouth as a result of the unfamiliar feeling.
"S–Sōsuke. . ." The man continued to fondle your thighs and ass, often giving it a firm squeeze before kneading it using his hands. Although the sensation was completely foreign to you, it was so good that it left you craving more. Aizen smirked at your dazed state. Those pitiful shinigami who asked you out couldn't possibly have made you feel this way. He gently pushed you down, making you land on the soft cushion. His form now towering over you. "Doesn't it feel good, my dear? They cannot make you feel like this. Only I have the power to make you feel this way." His hands held your thigh while the other held yours as he proceeded to move his hips into yours. "Y–Yes it feels so go–good." You stuttered, your hands fisted into the covers underneath you. He could tell from your reaction that you hadn't had a lot of pleasure beforehand, which was fantastic. Someone like you didn't deserve to be contaminated by those filthy shinigami's; he was going to be the one to bring you a world of pleasure.
"You belong to me, understand?" His gaze darkened as his fingers wrapped around your neck, causing you to nod. "I understand, Sōsuke, I'm not going to run or hide from you." He couldn't believe he fell for an angel like you, you smiled as the glint in his eyes faded. "Thank you; I love you, my darling." Before kissing you, his lips brushed across yours; your lips were so velvety and soft that he couldn't stop kissing them. "I love you too, Sōsuke. Can we cuddle?" You asked sheepishly before glancing away, too shy to look him in the eyes. Aizen laughed at your timidity, "Of course, my darling. We can do whatever you want." He kissed your brow and made you and him trade places, with you now on top of him.
Aizen's eyes softened as you nuzzled your face against his chest before closing your eyes and smiling softly. He massaged your back repeatedly as you drew closer, your face now resting in the crook of his neck. "I'm going to give you the entire world and so much more, my love."
Tumblr media
ʚɞ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ "AH! Nice move Ms. Harribel!" You complimented the woman with brown skin who moved the cheese piece. You'd be lying if you said you didn't love life in Hueco Mundo after Aizen took you from Soul Society. Aizen granted you everything you asked for because he didn't want you to lift a finger when he was close by. He wanted to be the best husband possible for you. Everyone looked at him like he had three heads when he introduced you as his husband. Next to him, you looked like a saint! They thought it was all a bad joke until he asked you to show them the ring he had gotten you. He also threatened to torture and murder them if they did not treat him with the utmost respect. Which you didn't think was necessary, but he believed otherwise.
You had to admit that the Arrancars intimidated you, so you stayed in your room for the majority of the time. Until one of the Espadas, Ulquiorra, arrived with a plate of food in his hand, and because he didn't look as threatening as the others, you struck up a conversation with him. After you finished conversing with him, you invited him over for tea. At first, he declined, saying that Aizen didn't want you around him and he didn't want any friends. But you soothed him by telling him that having at least one friend was fine! You and he have been chatting since then. He'd frequently bow his head and greet you while you did the same.
Since then, you've made friends and gotten along with the majority of the Arrancars, partly because you were polite and cheerful, and also because Aizen threatened all of their lives. "Mr. Y/n. Aizen-Sama needs you." The monotone tone of Ulquiorra's voice made you grin. "Ms. Harribel, I'll see you later. I hope we can play again sometime." You waved goodbye to the woman, who returned your actions. After closing the door, you walked alongside the Espada who had been waiting for you. "I haven't seen you all day, Mr. Cifer; how have you been?" You smiled at the solemn man who bent his head and shrugged his shoulders. "I've been doing fine. So, how about you? Has anyone been causing you problems?" He hummed with his hands in his pockets. When he sees you, he often asks how you are or if somebody is troubling you.
"I'm doing great; would you like to come over later to play a game with me? It's okay if you don't want to." You picked at your fingertips, not wanting to scare the Espada away. "Sure. And you don’t need to be so formal about my name. Just call me Ulquiorra." He nodded his head while you internally squealed and bounced from wall to wall. He said yes! "Okay, I'll see you there!" You waved to the Espada before opening the door to your husband's chamber.
Aizen's eyes softened as he saw you skip through the door, your sparkling grin never leaving your face. "Good day, my dear. What makes you so happy and excited?" He watched as you dashed up the stairs to sit in his lap, aka your throne he mentioned. He placed his arms around your waist as soon as you sat in his lap, his lips kissing your neck before kissing your lips sweetly. "Me and Ulquiorra will be playing a game later! I can't believe he agreed." As Aizen's stare darkened greatly while you kicked your feet back and forth like a child. Game? What game can he play with you? You stopped kicking your feet when you felt something crushing your shoulders and neck, causing you hiss in pain. "S–Sōsuke!" You called out to your husband as he immediately snapped out of his trance. His eyes widened when he saw holding back tears while holding the back of your neck.
"I’m so sorry my darling, I didn’t know." His kissed your shoulders before messaging them, causing you to relax in his hold. This wasn’t the first time his Reiatsu almost knocked the wind out of you. "Is there something wrong? Did I make you upset?" You frowned as he caressed your cheek, each time this happened you would always blame yourself. When in reality it was his fault, he couldn’t stop being possessive over you even if he tried. Every time you bring up another man’s name it happens. "Oh no, I was just being jealous again. None of this is your fault." He kissed your forehead and brought you closer in his grasp, making you nuzzle your cheek into his chest. "There’s nothing to be jealous about, you know I love you and you only. Besides, you were the one who told me to stop being cooped up in the room all day." You laughed and removed your head from his chest to look into his beautiful eyes. Aizen smiled before leaning down to give you a kiss. "You’re right, how silly of me. I love you too, my dear husband." He muttered as he placed a kiss on the back of your hand, the gorgeous purple diamond ring standing out.

✰Shuichi Saihara:
•Definitely noticed you first
•Was too shy to actually talk to you
•Kaede had to force him to talk to you
•Was prolly very awkward when interacting with you at first
•Eventually worked up the courage to ask you out but you beat him to it
•Doesn't mind PDA, just gets really flustered
•Doesn't get jealous easily nor is he necessarily clingy, but if you don't pay attention to him and spend more time with someone else then he'll get a tad bit jealous and will do anything to gain your attention
•Listens to you everytime you rant, even if it's something random
•Remembers your birthday and likes/dislikes
•Still somewhat quiet but talks way more than he usually does
•If you want to be a blackened or victim/your OC is a blackened or victim: he would ANYTHING to prove your innocence and would break down after your execution (if blackened), if victim, he would look at your motionless body and not say a word, would do anything to find your killer
✰Keebo/K1-B0:
•You noticed him and were very curious about him
•Prolly accidentally mistook one of your comments on him as robophobic
•Realized he felt a unusual way towards you when you defended him again Kokichi
•Because he doesn't necessarily understand the feeling of love, you had to be the one to initiate things
•Flustered easily
•Is fine with PDA
•Prolly loves when you hold his hand
•Gets jealous only when you're with Kokichi because of his obvious dislike towards him
•Remembers your birthday and likes/dislikes
•Listens to whatever you have to say
•If you want to be a blackened or victim/your OC is a blackened or victim: Couldn't believe it at first, wanted to be alone after your execution (if blackened), when he saw your body he couldn't even look at it, he refused to investigate near your body (if victim)
NOTE: I unfortunately only had the energy to write two characters this time because I wrote this at five in the morning and I am tired. I will try and write more characters next time

I guess that I have a request for you. The seven deadly sins yandere headcanons (same as someone else who requested it I guess) of the harmless yanderes of your choice including (I honestly don't care what you pick of the character of your choice) of how the yandere reacts when the darling sets some ground rules with the yandere and despite the darling knowing their obsessive behaviour and so on and knowing that they are a yandere and they honestly don't really care about that since the darling loves the yandere but the darling sets some rules like no threatening the family members or scaring them to death *not literally* and especially no kidnapping or punishments because the yandere can tell the darling if something bothers them or annoys them or anything of the sort..darling will listen and obey...especially not hurting the darling either because that will not make the darling love the yandere..it will make them hate the yandere.
So normally I would only post this later since it's a pretty new request and I got many older ones to do, but it's pretty much the only one I've managed to finish and I'm trying to get my update schedule somewhat back again.
To the request itself, love it! I had fun writing it! I chose some characters I have been itching to write for
Yandere Gowther with a darling who sets ground rules
Tumblr media
Communication is important with him, especially before he regained his memories. Gowther is unsure of how to treat you exactly, his only guide being books and the other sins, which often aren’t that great help. Often times he even reads your thoughts, with no regards for your privacy, to understand what to do.
This guy wants you to be happy, even if he himself doesn’t understand why, so as soon as he notices your discomfort about something he backs off a bit, but not without asking for clarification. He will be quite blunt with this, surprising you each time and it is most likely one of those times that the opportunity presents itself to talk with him, the matter on your mind quite often these days and he quickly catches on, or rather, reads your thoughts about it. The doll might even beat you to it and ask you first, wanting you to explain what you want him to do and what not.
During the talk you will have to keep in mind that many of the concepts can be misleading, leading you to kind of hold a monologue in which you further elaborate the rules whenever he seems confused. Once you are done with that, be prepared to answer many questions, Gowther basically going over every point again to make sure he doesn’t misunderstand anything and even asking to give him examples. All in all he will be very attentive, trying his best to listen to what you say. As long as you clearly communicate with him there aren’t many issues as he follows those rules to the best to his abilities. He believes that most of them count as reasonable either way, so there will also be almost no discussions in which he refutes your arguments. No need to make you dislike him in any petty ways.
Sometimes when he is about to do one of the things you forbid him from he goes like ‘oh, right, can’t do that’ and simply moves on to find a different way to deal with the situation. If there are situations in which he is unsure whether or not they count as going against your rules he’ll just bluntly ask you before proceeding depending on your answer.
Once he regains his memories he’s a total sweetheart anyway, focusing on making sure you are comfortable and healthy. While he might have followed your words a bit blindly before, he now fully understands why you set them up and is glad that you did so.
Yandere Jericho with a darling who sets ground rules
Tumblr media
Jericho has been trying to keep her feelings under control. She really is doing her best and she is somewhat grateful that she didn’t have to deal with them back when she was a lower ranked knight. Even though she doesn’t like to admit it, she was quite immature back then and would have felt entitled to her darling’s love while also being insecure about herself and her worth. It would have been a mess.
When you want to talk to her she doesn’t really think anything of it, at first. The two of you are happy together, sure, she might come of as a bit possessive but there really is no reason to worry. She slowly starts repeating that in her head as you start, reminding her of the times she might have gone overboard. Jericho feels heat rushing to her cheeks and she wants to defend herself, but you are not giving her any opportunity to talk and she does not wish to interrupt you, even though it gets increasingly harder.
As soon as you take a quick break she takes a deep breath, ready to justify herself when she stops in her tracks as you give her a smile, telling her that you love her regardless. She stares silently as you take her hand in yours before starting to splutter, unable to think clearly as she tries to make sense of your actions. Luckily you are quick to reveal your reasoning, explaining the rules you had thought of that you wished her to follow. Despite being flabbergasted she listens attentively, paying attention to each of your wishes. Once you are done she clearly deflates, relief washing over her that you hold no hard feelings against her. Had it been other circumstances she would have been embarrassed at how easily you were able to read her, but that doesn’t matters now. Though she does flinch a bit when you tell her that you would hate her for harming you. She understands where you are coming from, but she would never wish to hurt you and the though of you despising her... she decides not to dwell on that too much.
With a still somewhat nervous chuckle she will agree to each of your terms, finding them all reasonable. Had she not been aware of what her thoughts sometimes entail she would have been offended that you would feel the need to set these rules and so she only feels grateful that everything went by peacefully. Jericho feels less pressured to hide her emotions from then on, though she does not break any of the guidelines you gave her that day.

realizing it is probably better to Use The Askbox For Its Intended Purpose than to attempt conversation in tags ^^; anyway. YEAH I WOULD LOVE FWHIP THOUGHTS. MY LITTLE GUY. MY DUDE. I LOVE HE. fwhip's throughline IS SO VERY MUCH AVOIDANCE YOU'RE SO RIGHT (haven't seen scott s1 so can't comment on that yet). feel free to elaborate on any of [fwhip's avoidance, the thing about fwhip instinctually shooting sausage, fwhip's relationship to the rest of the WRA]! (also, 13:05 - 13:12 on the twelfth episode in fwhip's e1 playlist, "MAKING PEACE and NEW SKIN!", has the moment with the bow, if you're curious)
Ooh yes, okay. I’m gonna go into Empires season one fWhip and the Wither Rose Alliance, how fWhip handled the rise of Xornoth and the proceeding corruption of Sausage, as well as Sausage’s curing, and the reconciliation of the WRA. Basically, I’m gonna talk about why I love the WRA so much, as well as highlighting some really interesting character moments for fWhip, and his overarching theme of avoidance. Welcome to my Ted Talk.
(If you’ve only ever heard about empires season one through osmosis, or never watched any of the Wither Rose Alliance POVs— fWhip, Gem, or Sausage, this might be a good way to kinda figure out what their deal is. I ended up explaining a lot of context for things, for the sake of saying what I wanted to say, so I feel like it’ll be comprehensive even if you don’t have much prior knowledge of season one.)
At the start of the season, fWhip and Sausage got pretty close pretty quickly. They were partners in crime, if you will, each often helping each other out with various schemes and pranks, such as fWhip helping Sausage get back at Pix for stealing Sausage’s villagers, [fWhip e9, 7:18], even before the proper foundation of the WRA [fWhip e10, 17:25]. Which is to say, they were very close, even before everything went down. After fWhip steals the Codfather head— which he seems to be happy to deflect partial blame onto Gem for, trying to avoid any accountability— the WRA together gear up to create a sort of trap vault, to secure the Codfather head.
The tentative rise of Xornoth began before the vault was constructed, with fWhip having an encounter with the demon happening just before the vault plans were solidified, in his episode 17. In that episode, he makes a log of things he knows about the demon, including a list of things the demon seems to like, which includes two notable entries— “I think [the demon] likes MythicalSausage? And, they really like the idea of the dragon being killed […] they really dislike the dragon. I think their goals are […] the death of the ender dragon, it really keeps coming back to that, and they keep saying, if we kill the ender dragon, they’re gonna be free” [12:43].
This, combined with the need to create a secret vault, would ultimately result in the items being hidden in the End. fWhip, tasked with finding the location of the vault, decides on hiding the items this way, saying “With everything, especially the demon being so scared? Of the dragon? I feel like leaving the Codfather’s head with the dragon, as like a final form of defense, might not be a bad idea. Because, then Jimmy will never be able to get it. He’ll never be able to get it. Nobody’s gonna be able to take out the dragon” [17:21]. He presumes that everything will be safe with the dragon, that nobody will be able to take it down.
Meanwhile, Sausage seems to have almost made friends with the demon. When fWhip visits him to bring him some firearms, he says “Xornoth is uh, is planning some things, it’s great! […] For the demon! For armageddon!!” [fWhip e17, 30:20]. fWhip becomes, understandably, somewhat nervous, yet even here he still seems to… deflect. He laughs, nervously, telling them to have fun, before heading home. fWhip flies off, saying “What a weird guy— people say I’m the evil one. Quite worried about him.” fWhip sees that something is… definitely wrong, with Sausage, and yet he still can’t bring himself to properly have that confrontation. He’s avoiding it, maybe just hoping that things will turn out alright.
Another moment right in this era that I think about often, that I’m not sure where else to put, is the moment where Sausage and Gem have a brief stand down, when Gem says that she’s the most powerful wizard on the server, to which Sausage bites back that she only is for now [fWhip e18, 32:40]. This happens right around when Sausage was starting to get corrupted, and Xornoth promised him great magical power— power that Gem had said he would never have. And I think often about this moment, in the context of the WRA as siblings, right— you’re fWhip, and you’re standing there as your younger brother and older sister are doing the magical equivalent of holding guns to each other’s heads, and just… how do you react? What do you even do? He’s not sure, which leads to that horribly nervous little song he sings, and it’s just… god. It’s so much. Caught in the middle of all the things he’s been trying to look away from, unable to do anything as the two most important people in his life are a hair away from taking each other out.
Finishing up the final preparations on the WRA vault, fWhip expands on his reasoning to hide the Codfather head in the End: “Right now, the only way out of the End is either by killing the dragon, or by jumping into the void […] there’s a little bit of a demon, on the server right now, who keeps trying to tell people to kill the dragon to unleash it upon the world. And, there’s one thing I’m pretty confident in: Jimmy does not want to free Xornoth. And, well, at this point, neither do I. So, if I put the cod head in there, I think Jimmy’s gonna find an ultimatum where he’s like, hm, nope, I can’t get it back. Or, if he does, and he wants to bring it to the overworld, he has to unleash the most evil thing, on this entire server, into the open. So, uh, hopefully he doesn’t do that. I think he’s smart enough” [fWhip e19 9:43]. He tells Gem about the plan later in that same episode, to which she agrees that it seems like a good plan. The idea is foolproof. Surely, Jimmy won’t risk the entire server’s safety, all for the cod head, right? It feels reasonable enough to assume that Jimmy wouldn’t willingly doom the world by releasing the demon, and that’s something that he banks on— it’s the perfect way to get rid of the Codfather head, in a way that Jimmy can never get it back. Surely, nobody would be so foolish. Problem successfully solved!
Right?
Wrong. But… it wasn’t just Jimmy.
The collapse of the Wither Rose Alliance, in fWhip’s episode 20 [4:10 - 7:28], is what finally forces fWhip to really face what Sausage has become. Xornoth demands a sacrifice to allow the WRA to escape the Nether, and Sausage, imbued with the power of Xornoth, takes Gem out quickly. As fWhip is left alone to face an invincible Sausage, Gem pleads with Xornoth: “I was sacrificed! You have to let fWhip out!” Of course, it’s to no avail, and fWhip is forcefully dragged out of hiding to face Sausage once more, being taken down. fWhip and Gem reconvene in Mythland, where fWhip hides Sausage’s dog Bubbles in the ground. Sausage returns, demanding to know where Bubbles is.
This moment, right here, is one I find very chilling. fWhip, a character who so often avoids direct serious conflict, one who worries for people on the sidelines, takes his stand. While Gem demands their stuff back, he says “I told you, [Bubbles is] gone until you get rid of the demon.” He knows this isn’t good, that Sausage is making a mistake siding with Xornoth. He tries the last ditch effort he can think of to get his little brother to snap out of Xornoth’s control.
It’s not enough. Sausage begrudgingly returns their things, and as the two sort through their jumbled items, Gem mutters that they can’t be allies anymore, after this. fWhip agrees, with a haunting certainty, “Sausage, you chose a side… you chose a side. […] We tried to save us all, you chose.” The two stand on the bridge in Mythland, opposite Sausage, and fWhip says it seems like their endeavor that day may have been their last, as an alliance. Sausage shouts for them to leave, and as they take off, Sausage swings, hitting fWhip.
Gem and fWhip fly off, without Sausage. As they make their way back to their lands, fWhip says, in a shaking voice, “Gem, it’s back to just you and me here,” to which Gem assures that they’ll be fine, that they’ll stand up for each other. He quickly accepts her words, saying “Yeah, it’s— it’s all good, it’s all good… it’s all good. He— he took the powers of the demon to kill us, there, that is— that is one too— one too far. That is— it’s one too far.” He’s afraid, having just firmly ousted one of his oldest allies— his own brother— from his oldest alliance, despite knowing that it was the only thing he could’ve possibly done. There was no other option… and yet, he barely gives himself a single sentence to essentially mourn that loss, before he’s trying to pave back on the mask of indifference— look away, avoid, avoid— it’s fine, he says, it’s all good, as if he didn’t just have to do the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life.
But it’s not over yet. Not even close.
(Continued under the cut. This got Really Long)
In that very same episode, a meeting is held [16:30 - 18:03] where fWhip and Gem happily tell the others about how they hid the Codfather head in the end. Everyone else is, of course, terrified. Scott tells them that Jimmy’s just gonna kill the dragon to escape, and that if Xornoth is released, it’ll bring about an eternal winter. Gem and fWhip, realizing they’ve messed up, devise a plan to prevent the Cod Alliance from killing the dragon— they need to heal it, keep it alive at all costs. Gem insists to everyone that they have to be a team, that even though they’ve messed up, that they can fix it.
It’s now or never. They head into the End.
[End scene from 19:20 - 22:57] fWhip immediately flies around to the main island, before stepping down onto the bridge in front of Jimmy. He begs, pleads for them not to do this. “Jimmy— Jimmy, I’m sorry. Jimmy— Jimmy— I’m sorry, Jimmy, we need to not kill the dragon here.” Jimmy demands the Codfather head, and fWhip immediately agrees to return it, reiterating that they must not kill the dragon. It’s this— this moment of being immediately and forcefully thrust into the face of the problem he caused, the problem he’d been trying to avoid, by hiding the Codfather head away in a place where he was sure that Jimmy would never dare to go. It’s this moment of fWhip pleading with Jimmy, to please, please not do this— they’ve lost so much to this demon, they can’t let this happen. He can’t let the demon be freed because of his mistake, he’ll do anything to prevent it from happening. The absolute, terrified resolve of a man faced with a problem he can no longer run from.
Jimmy says he’s gonna kill the dragon, barging past fWhip, up the main island. Chaos breaks out, and fWhip leads Jimmy down, beneath the portal frame. Jimmy says it better not be a trick, and he assures it isn’t, voice panicked. He returns the head, and begs them not to do this, in a soft, shaking voice, “We gotta keep the dragon alive, don’t— don’t let— don’t let Sausage kill it, don’t… […] Chaos, chaos is coming, we can’t— we can’t let the dragon die.” The fear, and absolute certainty… he can’t let this happen. Can’t let his mistake ruin the world.
Jimmy, uncertainly, says “fWhip, I think, whether you like it or not, this dragon is dying.”
fWhip desperately attempts to prevent the dragon’s death, to no avail. Chaos, as the two sides wage war in the end, with Jimmy caught conflicted in the middle. Sausage and Joey, corrupted by Xornoth, cheer for the carnage.
From the moment the Codfather head was stolen— perhaps even from the moment Jimmy started a confrontation with Sausage at all, all that time ago— it was too late. Xornoth would be released.
In a single episode, fWhip’s entire world is turned upside down. The WRA is shattered, the world is fast approaching an eternal corruption, and… he doesn’t know what to do. Gem says they can fix it, that she has the dragon egg, but… what else can he do but to just… shut down. He turns away from it— from Sausage, from Xornoth, from everything. He avoids it all— doubles down on the construction of his city, Eastvale, resolutely looking away from everything else.
With Xornoth freed, and Sausage well and truly corrupted, fWhip becomes extremely cold towards Sausage, to the point of being openly defensively hostile. The brother that he knew… that isn’t Sausage, anymore. One of the best examples of this can be seen in Sausage’s episode 32, 12:54, where Sausage and Pearl go to invite fWhip to their arena. fWhip answers the knock on his gate with a drawn bow, immediately and coldly asking what they want with him, even as Sausage still greets him as a friend. While fWhip is willing to speak to Pearl, he refuses to even entertain the idea that Sausage isn’t here to hurt him, shooting him a few times throughout the conversation, to the point where Sausage is sent away from the gate so that Pearl can speak to fWhip alone.
And… god, isn’t that just so much? You’re fWhip, and whatever thing is possessing the person in front of you, he isn’t your brother anymore. He’s not your friend anymore. He’s not safe, and you’re not safe with him here, even though… he used to be one of the safest people for you to be with. Not anymore. That’s not him, anymore.
And, it’s not unwarranted, with Sausage later saying to Pearl “I try my best around him, but sometimes I just wanna choke him out, Pearl” [15:24]. Yet… Sausage still greets fWhip as a friend, at first. Still tries to talk to him, insists that he’s “not evil today,” and… well, Sausage really did still care very much about the WRA, even while corrupted.
In Sausage’s episode 33, he opens by reading his last will and testament, knowing that soon enough he’ll be taken by the corruption. Within his will, he writes out things that he wants the other emperors to have, should he not return: “To fWhip, you can keep all my deepslate redstone ores… I don’t know what you want them for, they’re kind of useless to me, but… I kept a lot, […] Gem, you can have my great staff of Mythland. Uh… in your hands, it’ll probably be very effective. And to the Wither Rose Alliance, you can have access to my iron farm still” [1:07]. He still thought about them… still cared about them. The fact that Sausage kept collecting deepslate redstone— something that fWhip loves and cares for very much, for the sole purpose of giving it to him, even though they were on such horrible terms… I think about that. He loved them, even still. Even through the corruption, he loved them.
Gem never turns her back on Sausage in quite the same way fWhip does. It was she who cured him, in the end— killing him, at his own request, voice corrupted as he struggled against the influence of Xornoth. She finds him in Mythland, after he’s free from the corruption, and asks if he’s okay, saying she’s so glad to have him back again. He shakily asks her if he can be back in the alliance again, now that he’s cured, and Gem says “We’ll have to talk to fWhip about it, how about for now, you just… heal up over here” [Sausage e33, 33:25].
Gem knows that she forgives Sausage, that it wasn’t his fault. But… she also knows fWhip, and she knows it won’t be so easy for him, that it’ll take time. It has to be his own choice, in the end, to forgive Sausage for everything he put them all through.
Gem brings fWhip around to see Sausage, now that he’s uncorrupted. [Sausage e34, 24:00 - 34:25]. Once fWhip realizes that Sausage is there, he draws his bow, asking coldly why they’re here. Sausage asks what’s going on, and Gem says she’s brought him fWhip. Sausage is immediately distracted by Gem’s wizard hat, and fWhip happily jumps on the bandwagon of teasing Gem. Gem tells fWhip that Sausage is cured, and while fWhip is skeptical at first, having to kill Sausage himself to make sure he’s no longer unkillable, the three seem to fall back into their old patterns. Gem sends the two running into the river, lightheartedly chasing them with her sword, and as they both climb out giggling, she says “I missed this.”
This scene, this moment of the WRA, finally back together again after so long, it’s so… god. They’ve been apart for so long, they haven’t been able to hang out and laugh with each other, and this is the first time in so, so long, that Sausage has been able to hear that light in fWhip’s voice again— that he’s been able to speak to fWhip on any terms that aren’t cold and callous and unloving. They have each other again, they have their family back, unsteady as it is.
Sausage asks if he’s back in the alliance, and Gem says it’s up to fWhip. He seems… uncertain, but says that Sausage can be tentatively back— like he’s still nervous, still feels like something could go wrong. The three of them agree that Sausage owes them both three favors, and then he’ll be back in the alliance for real.
In Sausage’s episode 35, fWhip cashes in his first favor [9:30 - 10:17]. He asks Sausage to come by to help him with something, and as Sausage flies in, fWhip immediately shoots him with a flaming arrow. Sausage flies away, circling around before making his way back to land near fWhip. fWhip greets him with that old harsh coldness, a curt “Hi, can I help you,” how fWhip used to speak to Sausage, while he was corrupted. Sausage says he didn’t come to fight, that he’s good now, and fWhip lets out a slightly nervous laugh, saying “oh, right, right… sorry, sorry, I’m still just a little… it’s gonna take a while, it’s gonna take a while— you can’t just expect me to like— just like, forget, instantly, right? It was just— you know,” fWhip trails off, and Sausage says that fWhip hit him in the face, to which fWhip laughs, slightly, before restating his initial greeting in a much more friendly tone.
And it’s just… god. Isn’t that so much? Isn’t that So Much? Like, you’re fWhip, and you see your own little brother coming, and your immediate instinct is that you have to protect yourself. That you aren’t safe, that he’s gonna hurt you, prepare to fight back— god. Could you imagine what it must be like to be feeling that way? To be trying to reconcile the feelings so ingrained in you now, with the person now before you? He’s trying— he’s trying so hard to let Sausage back in. But… it’s not that easy.
I think this essay has definitely gotten long enough, but I do wanna leave off with one final moment. In Sausage’s episode 41 [11:25 - 14:22], fWhip finally feels able to fully accept Sausage back into the alliance. He tells them that he wants to make them all a new meeting room. The three end up falling back into their old antics, playfully attacking each other, and Sausage ends up getting killed. fWhip picks up a bunch of his things, including a splash potion of invisibility that he had. fWhip cheekily says he’ll keep the potion, and Sausage asks for it back, to which fWhip starts to walk off to where he wanted to show them anyway. Gem follows, and in a disapproving tone, says “fWhip, give him his things.” fWhip turns around, says “Okay, here you go,” and splashes the invis on them all, to which Sausage indignantly says “I can’t believe this!” fWhip immediately starts laughing, with Gem giggling as well, and both fWhip and Sausage quickly realize how silly Gem looks while invisible, with her massive hat floating in the air.
I point out this moment because it really encapsulates why I love the WRA so much. They’re such a chaotic bunch— acting like three siblings who love to tease each other, who get into fights and have falling outs and still, in the end, they make up again. They find each other again. They never stop caring about each other, even through everything. It’s a really sweet little moment— the WRA, finally, truly whole again.

My unpopular opinion of Chain of Thorns Is that I loved that the ending of Chain of Thorns was not somewhat sad or tragic as originally planned. I really can't understand people who say this was a bad book because it had A HAPPY ENDING and that it didn't feel earned. (Note: We are leaving aside things like plot holes and character arcs decisions). Would a sad ending have felt more satisfying? After everything the characters we came to adore and root for went through? I don't think so. I also don't think it's a very valid criticism to say that the book was bad for its happy ending BECAUSE happy endings are "overrated". I understand that maybe some people are tired of seeing stories like that and so they feel that way, but then isn't it better to look for other kinds of stories??? The ones that have the heartbreaking ending they are looking for? Because the Shadowhunter Chronicles is just not the place.
(first of all i am so sorry anon you sent me this ask on march 2nd of this year it has been eight months aaahhh)
but after taking a lot of time to consider this, i do agree.
when i first read the book i thought the ending was rather unrealistic, those characters do have a talent for getting out of deadly situations unharmed (like ari & anna in the final fight of chot, i was so sure one of them had to bite the bullet fr)
but after some consideration i don’t think unrealistic means bad to me. Christopher’s death left me in shambles, people, shambles i cried everyday for a week
i think disliking the ending for not being tragic enough is a valid opinion and i certainly understand where people are coming from; but i personally am really attached to the characters, and do not want to see them suffer, so this more ‘tame’ and less tragic ending of chain of thorns was definitely made for me

How would you imagine a Ned that grows up at Casterly Rock (Ned/Jaime truther here) to turn out?
hmmm 🤔🤔🤔 keeping all other things the same…
so assuming he’s ward to Tywin, I think Ned would feel very uncomfortable to start with and dislike a lot of the customs and culture at the Rock. I think the Arryns can be kind of pretentious but they’ve got nothing on the Lannisters, and the Starks fancy themselves very straightforward people. also the Rock is fucking ugly and probably a somewhat depressing place to be sent to. ‘only a Lannister could love the Rock’ etc
but I think young Jaime sounds like a pretty open and pleasant kid who doesn’t struggle to make friends, so I think he would welcome Ned, and Ned would grow to like him after having a chance to warm up to the place a bit. I do think young Jam could also be a bit irritating (like when he’s intrigued by someone he’s kind of a circling pest like with Brynden, I picture him the same with Arthur lol) but ultimately likeable. and I think he likes personality types like Ned’s. and Ned warmed to Robert fine, I think he’d warm to young Jaime.
assume the thing between Jaime and Cersei is still going on. can see it being a source of awkwardness if Ned ever did find out (and maybe what Jaime and/or Cersei needed at that age was a trusted peer saying ‘excuse me but what the fuck’). cue them falling out over it and managing to make up at some point.
does Jaime still join the KG with Ned on the scene?? maybe, maybe not. I like to think they’re close enough that Ned could’ve counselled him otherwise, but maybe he still does and Ned’s just like ‘you’re a fool’ and is low-key sad for him
THEN. supposing things play out the same way with Rhaegar and Lyanna, this would make things v awkward between Ned and House Lannister. House Lannister are (supposedly) a staunch Targaryen ally, but Brandon would still join forces with Robert in this AU, and Ned would no doubt want to join him in defence of their sister. Tywin’s refusing to take a side would be a source of great friction though, and Jaime would be sworn to Aerys so: oh no they are on opposing sides of the war!!
come the point of Jaime becoming Kingslayer tho…. this would be the best part of the AU imo because now Ned knows Jaime enough to know he’s not a skeevy guy - but the Tywin’s underhandedness and Jaime joining the KG for Cersei rather than anything else would have him thinking perhaps Jam is just an opportunist and I didn’t really know him?? and ALSO. he knows Jaime was there at his father and brother’s death just watching the whole time and how does that make him feel!! like what did the guy THINK as he watched this happen!!!
AND! I think Jaime would feel enormous guilt about having watched Ned’s family be slaughtered and would struggle to speak to Ned subsequently, so Ned may still be free to assume the worst!!! oh god we’re back at Ned and Jam not understanding each other despite having many things in common just like in canon
so this could fester over many years and then things play out roughly the same as canon and they meet again in AGOT and ooh tension. or we could cut things short and they manage to speak shortly after the Kingslaying and if this were a JamNed fic they get together then. I don’t know choose your own adventure but there you go

Alright alright alright y'all I saw Devotion
This is not a glowing review of Glen nor this movie so if you don’t want to read that feel free to scroll.
I haven’t read the book, though the movie made me really want to! So that’s a positive for sure.
Also I know nothing about the Navy. Spoilers below the cut.
Disclaimer: I’m generally very critical of movies / tv, even ones I like, despite having zero real cinematic knowledge lol. My dad’s a producer so he and I love to pick apart movies and that habit has definitely made me hypercritical (as a frame of reference I have issues with TGM and New Girl too, two all time faves) so take my negative Nancy shit with a grain of salt please.
Things I liked in no particular order:
Jesse and Tom running the checklist just before Jesse crashes into the clearing
Every scene Christina Jackson was in - she was amazing
When the junior (I assume) sailors come out to watch Jesse’s carrier qualification - thought the reactions of the squadron were really interesting in this and overall a super emotional scene
The aerial scene in the beginning where Tom & Jesse fly by the lighthouse
Jonathan Majors. JONATHAN MAJORS, holy shit. He wowed me. Some scenes made me SO uncomfortable and I mean that in a good way (like him reciting things in the mirror) because he delivered them so viscerally without overplaying the character. His performance was incredibly balanced and overall outstanding imo. If it weren’t for him I likely would’ve hated this movie (sorry Glen)
The scene where the squadron is taking their flight gear before the funeral flight, thought this was cut beautifully with Daisy getting the news of Jesse's death
Glen’s my babygirl. He looks gorgeous in this movie. His facial expressions were generally great throughout. The first half of the movie I enjoyed him mostly (pretty much everything pre-Cannes). That’s kind of where my compliments end for him 🫣 I do not think this was his best performance by a long shot. Most of his line delivery fell flat for me.
That could’ve been because Jonathan Majors steals nearly every scene he’s in. It also could've been the writing, a lot of the dialogue felt very stilted and awkward, especially in emotionally heavy scenes on the carrier.
As a Glen fan, thought it was cute the girl Tom kissed in France was Gigi but most of the Cannes stuff was completely unnecessary. On the positive side there, the dynamic between Glen/Jonathan I thought was fairly likeable in the outdoor bar scene.
Joe Jonas was alright, my expectations were basically on the floor for him so he exceeded that, yay. There were scenes where I liked the CO and found his character engaging and then there were a couple towards the end where I thought he was awkward. I have nothing to say about the rest of the squadron, didn't dislike them or find them memorable.
My biggest gripe is that the pacing of this movie was ridiculous - it felt WAY longer than 2.3 hours. By the end I was beyond ready for it to be over. I probably would never be able to sit through this movie from beginning to end again which is unfortunate. The real bulk of the story is at the end but by the time it came around I was mentally done with the movie and thought a lot of the performances (especially glen’s) towards the end didn’t land. The timing of everything felt really off and although I thought the actor’s performances were generally stronger in the beginning, things took so long to get going that by the end I somewhat checked out.
Overall, loved Jonathan Majors and Christina Jackson. Adored their performances. Felt mostly neutral about everyone else. Extremely negative about the pacing.
Also I still think the world of Glen!!!! I completely understand how easy it is for me to criticize vs the constraints they actually worked with in making this! Sorry don't hate me for this :(

Hii! How are you? Hope the new year is treating you well
Love your Jiang Cheng/Meng Yao/Xue Yang everything, they are all excellent characters (especially JC my beloved)
Wanted to ask why you don't like Nie Mingjue? (Totally genuine btw, I'm mostly indifferent towards him but I like hiw tou do character analysis and am curious?)
Happy new year and take care :D
oh boy, okay. I waffled for a while about responding to this only because I tend to...avoid wading into things that might get me in trouble, and this feels like something that could get me in trouble, because I'm talking about my (negative) feelings on a relatively popular character and that can provoke some pretty intense responses.
but I don't really want to foster that impulse, at least not all the time, and I try to be fair when I talk about these things, so, hey, might as well. under a cut for anyone who doesn't want to read the following (counts) nine paragraphs of rambling about this subject
first off I feel like I should say that it probably seems like I dislike Nie Mingjue because he comes into conflict with Jin Guangyao, and while that isn't not true, characters being in conflict with each other does not preclude me liking both of them. I mean, I would hope that was obvious.
I think the biggest reason me and Nie Mingjue do not vibe is actually - and this occurred to me as I was writing this response - the same reason that I used to dislike Stannis Baratheon back when I was active in the A Song of Ice and Fire fandom. (Not so much anymore, mostly because now I just find him kind of funny. Sorry, Stannis.) Namely: he's inflexible and utterly convinced of his own rightness/righteousness.
One of my least favorite qualities in a person is self-righteousness, and while that can work for me in a character it very much doesn't here, I think because it comes with that inflexibility. Nie Mingjue's sense of morality and order is rigid with very little room for his judgment being affected by circumstance or external context. To him, those considerations are irrelevant at best and viewed as excuses at worst.
I'm someone who is, meanwhile, allergic to universal statements, particularly universal statements of good/bad, evil/righteous, etc. I don't like them, I'm incredibly wary of them, and while, again, me disliking these things irl doesn't necessarily preclude enjoying them in a character, it is going to be at least somewhat of a barrier. I feel like it would be less of one here, honestly, if I didn't feel like fandom often endorses Nie Mingjue's perspective on this, as opposed to acknowledging it for what I think it is actually in the text; I have more I could say on this but I'm already writing an essay so I'll just note that I think the fact that Nie Mingjue's corpse can't distinguish between Jin Ling and Jin Guangyao is thematically important.
I don't need a character's morality to align with mine to like them, obviously. The greater crime is finding a character frustrating or irritating, and that's what this particular quality of Nie Mingjue's does to me.
"But what about Xiao Xingchen," I can hear somebody saying. "Doesn't he have the same rigid perspective?" Yes, arguably; his also breaks horribly over the duration of the story, and that's the part of his arc that I find compelling! I find Xiao Xingchen most interesting when his initial understanding of the world has been irrevocably changed and he has to reckon with the fact that justice is not as simple as he thought it would be.
I also - and I know how this is going to sound, I feel like - do not vibe with characters who really strongly believe in state-supported violence. I don't care if characters kill people - the more the better! murder all you like, my darlings! - but I do care if they're advocating the death penalty from a position of political power/authority. Which is actually not a distinction I'd necessarily realized was important to me, but apparently it is. As far as my fictional taste goes: personal violence is fine. State violence is not. I'm sure there are exceptions here (there usually are) but it is generally true that the more violence comes from a position of authority/power in the sense of "this is structurally supported by some form of government/systematic structure", the more I'm going to feel badly about it and the less kindly I am going to feel toward the character in question.
Nie Mingjue is very, very invested in state-supported violence and very eager to dole it out on a personal basis. We see it with his almost killing Xue Yang while Xue Yang is on trial; we see it with Jin Guangyao, multiple times. "Well, they were guilty!" Yeah, I know, that's not the point. The line Nie Mingjue draws between legitimate/illegitimate violence doesn't work for me.
There's also some other stuff that's more fandom-related around the fanon characterization Nie Mingjue often gets that frustrates me because of the way I feel like it increasingly departs from the text, which has (as usual) more of an impact on my feelings about the original character than it perhaps should. Probably because I feel like it's such a misreading of the point of his character. Everyone in fandom is extrapolating from the character on the page/screen - lord knows I do it. But I do feel like I have a limit that I hit where that extrapolation feels like it's reading against the text and what the text is saying, and/or making them a "type" built on a generalized mold, and that's where my patience really runs out.
anyway this has all been very wordy and probably unnecessarily harsh but...I think some of it was useful for me in terms of thinking out just why, even beyond fandom-related frustrations, Nie Mingjue was never a character I could care about or like.

I'm just gonna address this under the cut.
I love helluva boss. Its not a perfect show, but I deeply enjoy it and have re-watched it to death, especially when I was in bad spot. So when I critique it, its not from a place of hatred or pettiness, its more from a place of knowing how good it could be with better execution and focus. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, onto what I wanna say.
Just because someone critiques the show, or dislikes something you liked, does not mean they lack media comprehension or are just a hater. For example, Western Energy and Ozzie's being addressed in texts on Stolas' phone or people not understanding Blitz also cares about Stolas. Or even Seeing Stars, or Queen Bee not giving time to have an awkward moment or two. They say it'll be addressed eventually or its subtext.
And I'd concur. The show isn't over yet, it has 2 and 1/2 seasons more to go. But, that doesn't mean everything done so far is perfect.
First off, I understand that Blitz cares, Truth Seekers proves that, Ozzie's proves that, but if you're defending the texts in Western Energy or even the picture Blitz has on his phone of him and Stolas in Ozzie's, I'd like to counter that with not everyone is as obsessed with the show as you or me. There are casual fans, who yes, will throw their hat in the ring and critique the show, they usually don't pause or go back to read or double check the photos. That and some world-building elements, like the difference between Sinners and demons and imps, aren't explicitly addressed in the show. Sure Season 2 has somewhat addressed it, but there wasn't clarity and most causal viewers only know because other more invested viewers tell them. I know this because I'm a huge fan, and my friend who I got into the show, often asks for explanations.
People nitpick sometimes sure, like in Oops, when most people asked why didn't they just shoot Fizz (my friend was one of them), whereas I didn't think anything of it (probably mostly because I play dnd and I accepted Fizz's song as a Nat 20 on performance). Or claimed the song was too long, I loved the song and how long it was.
But nitpicks aren't bad, nor is all nitpicks made by solely casual fans. And not all critiques are nitpicks. I personally think that some bring up good points. Such as Western Energy and how Ozzie's was addressed in a series of texts between Blitz and Stolas, which if you blinked, you could have missed it. That and in order to read them, you would have to go back and go by frame by frame to read it. Pausing in-between. I am not of the belief that the texts should have been cut, but I do believe it could have been acknowledged if only a little in Seeing Stars (which I do have my opinions on, but I'll that in another post.) Because that would have been better structurally and could have set up the texts better.
Now to address another argument people make against critiques. And I will use Season 2 as my main example. Most people argue that the reason why Season 2 has gotten so much flack is due to people's built up expectations, the fanon, they created in their head. And sure that might be true. I've seen it in the reaction to Stella, which Sarcastic Chorus on youtube did a fantastic video on that that addresses the issue about that far better than I ever could. So check that out.
But I'll touch on it here anyway. Season 1 Stella was barely fleshed out. All we knew was that she was angry that Stolas cheated. Some eagle eyed views noticed her anger seemed to be mostly about him sleeping with an Imp and not the cheating, but aside from that, a picture, and a few split second scenes (Pilot: Blitz apologizing to her. Her telling Stolas to get up instead of her. Octavia briefly mentioning her.) We didn't know anything else about her. Some folks theorized about her in ways that created a lot of depth, only for Season 2 to reveal she was purely one dimensional with no sympathetic virtues whatsoever.
She was an abusive wife bound to Stolas out of a non negotiable duty to the Goetia family. It absolved Stolas of any responsibility or fault. Western Energy took it a step further and then robbed her of any weight as a villain in the story by introducing her brother and making him the mastermind. While Stella was painted as a pretty, petty, short-sighted, spoiled, impulsive brat. Which that's ok. I'm fine with her one dimensionality. Since the show never promised more than that. But some folks were really angry about it, claiming that the show did promise more. Now, that is a good example of building castles out of nothing but a potential future. Not to say that people aren't allowed to be disappointed with Stella's lack of depth. Because while the show didn't promise more, the lack of concrete evidence to the contrary allowed the space for potential. Thus, this is also a good example of how the show could have avoided this, if it were only clearer about Stella's personality from the beginning. Perhaps a scene or two more illustrating this.
This doesn't mean, that I think the creators suck. I do think they are doing the best they can, and are putting a lot of effort into the story. No, I don't think that I could do it better. Which sidebar, sometimes dissatisfaction with the execution of a story, and wanting to do it better i.e. your way, can lead to some pretty cool things. Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao comes to mind (The author took inspo from Darling in the Franxx, they were unhappy with how it executed it's concept and they took it and made Iron Widow.) Or any multitude of fanfic. Or stories inspired by stuff in the public domain. But critique is ok, it helps with becoming a better writer/story teller. It tells you what works and what doesn't. Moreover, critique is always a suggestion not a command. Yes, haters exist, entitled fans exist, and people who completely miss the point exist. And yes, smaller projects tend to get more flack, especially when it involves queer stories, but that doesn't mean the rest is all noise. Multiple things can be true at once.
Claiming that people just don't understand subtlety or that they are plain stupid, is just disheartening. As though the only way to enjoy a show is to do so without complaint. I will admit I dislike negativity as much as the next person. I do in fact avoid it. Hell sometimes I don't like seeing critique. And yes, people are allowed to dislike, or express distaste with people critiquing the show. But again, it feels as though its being held on a pedestal, as though it can do no wrong, and its kinda a dangerous mindset to maintain. Nothing is above critique, nothing is perfect, and that includes your favorite shows.
Now does this mean that Helluva Boss is inherently a bad show? No. Are there problems with it? Yes. But, Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder though. Which means not everyone agrees. But I love this show. What's wrong with wanting to see it do its best, live up to its potential? (Oops is epitome of Helluva Boss's potential in my opinion, btw, and I look forward to more.)
Besides, Helluva Boss's creators are still gonna do what they are gonna do. Does it matter what someone on the internet says about it?

So we all agree that in any Six of Crows AU Huntlow would be Matthias & Nina? Insanely loyal, opposing sides, deprogramming arc for the blonde boy. Would also be really interesting to see Willow post Parem.
I cannot fucking believe this, you have gotten me started.
(Even if you haven't read Six of Crows, I recommend reading the snippets I have here and imagine Huntlow. Because if you are a Huntlow enjoyer, they might make you insane. Or maybe its just me whose brain chemistry is changed by these scenes idk.)
Matthias and Nina were my favourites the first time reading SOC and I somehow never thought of this. But my God. Not only is his arc similar but Hunter acts so much like Matthias sometimes. Stern and gruff but has a sense of humor, plus a sheltered upbringing that has made him socially awkward and a little timid around romance and intimacy. But full of love. So completely overflowing with love. (Though the prejudice he learned from the Emperor's Coven is far different from what Matthias learned from the Druskelle.)
When it comes to Willow and Nina parallels, there's less. But they certainly exist. Willow is just as brave, confidant, smart, sweet, funny and dangerous as Nina. And physically there's the plus size thing and the green eyes and being beautiful. (Willow is called cute a lot in the show. I'm choosing to take this as fact.) But a big aspect of Nina's personality is how flirty she is. Like she's an older, sexually experienced girl who is hot and uses it to her advantage. That obviously isn't Willow, who's just a kid. Like I feel like she knows she's somewhat pretty (she says somewhat cuz she's modest.) And she's probably confidant enough to flirt with Hunter. But she would not be able to go to the extremes Nina goes to while flirting without getting horribly flustered.
So like. Huntlow as Nina and Matthias but a lot more innocent. Not entirely innocent cuz you know how teenagers are, but definitely not to the extent of Nina and Matthias.
Anyway since this ask has gotten me fucking started, I went and combed through the books for Matthias and Nina snippets that remind me of Huntlow. I have way too many. Gonna need to reblog this post once or twice with add ons just so I can get all my gushing out. Please be patient with me. ANYWAY
Very fun to think about Huntlow first meeting knowing that they're on opposite sides so they start off with a far more hostile relationship. However they end up in a situation where they're stranded and forced to work together. And then they manage to find a shelter but they're gonna freeze to death and they gotta do the whole ✨️Huddling For Warmth✨️ trope, which I cannot imagine Hunter being anything but insanely awkward about, though he desperately tries to be objective and professional about it.
Tumblr media
Let's just imagine that besides plants, Willow knows one spell for keeping blood circulation going when it's freezing cold. Or maybe she can channel the the essence of the sun? Plants need sunlight to grow so maybe its a feature of her plant spells? Either way, she heats him up.
Tumblr media
"He did like the way she talked." <3
Willow eventually learns that jokingly flirting with her enemy (who she has a temporary truce with in order for mutual survival) riles him up something awful. So if she can't kill him, she'll just playfully antagonise him. But at some point or another, this flirting motivated by boredom might have shifted into affection. They've been stuck together for a while now. They're starting to become attached to each other, whether they like it or not.
Tumblr media
They are simply very cute. Huge Huntlow vibes here. Willow is being silly and Hunter is trying not to be silly but failing miserably because Willow's silliness is contagious. Also no matter how much Hunter disliked a person, you know he'd save them without a second thought. Willow is beginning to understand the kind of person he is.
Tumblr media
Hunter being painfully obvious but also painfully confused.
Tumblr media
This is just my Huntlow yellow tulip agenda.
Tumblr media
There are simply no words for this one. But if I think about this scene but with Huntlow, I think I'll just fucking explode.
Tumblr media
(Also one of Hunter's worst memories being Willow in the cell he put her in. "I never want to see you like this again." OKAY.)
OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY Willow taking the parem. It fucking hurts me because she WOULD. Willow is a protector. She is in a dangerous situation where she and her friends are cornered and she needs to protect them. The only option she can think of is taking the lethal addicting substance that will enhance her magic to an impossibly powerful extent but ruin her physically and mentally from withdrawal. If she takes even one dose, she could die or go insane if she's not given another. But it's all she can do right now. She has to keep her friends safe.
And Hunter, who is just as self sacrificing as Willow, BEGGING her not to do this.
And Willow fucking telling him to KILL HER "if it gets bad." I can't take this shit anymore man.
Tumblr media
And then after Willow unleashes her power, saves everyone and then begins to suffer from withdrawals. And everything hurts and she's suffering and she can't even hold Hunter's hand.
But she's determined to overcome this. She refuses to succumb to it. And she orders Hunter to keep her from taking anymore. And Hunter is reluctant because he knows what could happen. But though she could die from withdrawals, taking a second dose would be the point of no return. There was no hope of her ever recovering.
Also also also "Touching him hurt but she still did it." I will screech.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not okay about this. I'm not okay at all. I haven't even gotten to Crooked Kingdom yet. Gonna reblog with my CK scenes later.

You know, I've been trying to think of a way to add Ludwig with the angst. He's somewhat tricky. You can't really date him before the Clergy, since before that he had Krulu in him. Well ok maybe there would be time for him to meet you, because the Admin was already getting used to Krulu. Yet he doesn't really seem all that interested in a relationship after that, not in the early days anyway. Also from what I've gatherd, Ludwig doesn't really work at the clergy. He's sometimes there, doing some work, but is not a full staff member like the rest.
So this is what I came up with
After the Clergy was made and the Admin got crazy, Ludwig either meets you right before the clergy is made or after. Still in love with the Admin, he doesn't really think much of you. But like a menace to society, you manage to steal the demons heart. You two get together.
Ludwig trying his hardest to keep you away from the clergy, the admin and most of all, Krulu. He lost one beloved human to the Siadar, he can't go through that again. Which makes things even more intersting because he still loves the Admin. So he has some internal conflict there too.
He never wants you to know about the Clergy and how he takes part in it. Letting humans just suffer in there. How he released Krulu, tormenting your kin. He can't have you look at him with horror and distgust.
You two are happily in love, with you unaware of the terrible things going on.
For now
This is everything I have for Ludwig, he's tricky for me
-angst anon
[I understand he feels tricky for you, him and Krulu are more layered than the rest since I've had them around for longer, and I didn't exactly make an intro post for him yet.]
If you want to make this credible, you need to consider and AU where Ludwig loses his crush on Admin, probably right around the moment they visibly accept Krulu and dedicate themselves to him, which would crush Ludwig's heart to smithereens. And, let's say, he grows disgusted and bitter enough with their transformation to move on. Because, if Lud still loves Admin, another human will likely not captivate him enough to override that long-term infatuation.
That being said, there is a lot of potential with angst for him, because he's always emotionally loaded with guilt. Tremendous guilt. Having a human partner makes Ludwig feel repulsive. Not because he dislikes you or humans, but because he knows he's the catalyst for thousands of human deaths. He knows he released one of humanity's biggest threats into the surface, he knows he's forever signaled by Krulu, and therefore always somewhat vulnerable to the old god's whims, in spite of no longer being as vital to their survival as he once was.
By being with him, you are also in danger. And the monster doesn't want to tell you about his sordid past either, naturally. Because, if the fact that he's a wrath demon isn't enough to drive you off, then knowing he's responsible for endless misery and death will likely make you run for the hills.
Ludwig was already not much of a catch if you put aside his sense of humor or game skills, now he's just a loathsome, lying entity full of regrets, deceit and fears.
You don't need that. You don't need someone like him in your life...

Thank you so much to @bibaybe for her questions for the OC Creator Bingo!! I really appreciate you inquiring after some of my babies that haven’t gotten a lot of love yet, like Ivana and Marnie <3. Here are my answers!!
Tumblr media
what is samantha ross’s biggest fear?
Even though she’d never admit it, Samantha’s biggest fear is losing her friends, either to death or just because their friendship ended. She went through so much of her life being the weird ghost-obsessed girl with no one willing to be friends with her, and no matter how much she tried not to let it bother her, she was immensely grateful when she met her fellow Ghostbusters and actually gained some friends who really cared about her. And now that she has them, every day she has that awful fear in the back of her mind that they will be taken from her by death or that they’ll leave of their own choice, and even though she knows they truly care about her and that it’s somewhat irrational, the fear is still there, and it only gets worse when she and Ray start dating and she now has someone she cares about more than just as a friend.
Tumblr media
if bowie/eddie/buck wasn’t endgame, would you ship him with anyone else? and if so, what kind of dynamic would they have?
Not with another canon character, but Bowie does have a boyfriend named Jack, another original character, during the course of the series before he and Buck start dating. They date for a while towards the end of season one and until about the middle of season two, when they break up because Bowie realizes he has feelings for Buck (not for Eddie just yet, because it’s a while before Bowie and Buck even start really dating and another while before Eddie joins their relationship), and they talk it out and mutually end things because Bowie knows it’s not fair to Jack for them to date if he has stronger feelings for someone else.
So if Bowie and the boys didn’t end up together, I really think he would have ended up with Jack, because they really do have a sweet dynamic. They meet at a bookstore originally and bond over their love of mystery novels, and the entire time they’re together they’re very sweet and affectionate with each other with nary a really serious argument. If Bowie had never caught feelings for Buck and later Eddie, then I really think they might have been endgame, because they were a really awesome couple that I think the fans would have loved and rooted for.
Tumblr media
why would the fandom like/dislike ria santos?
I really think the FRIENDS fandom would like Ria because she’s very sweet and loyal to the friend group, as well as very smart and one of the only ones with a braincell sometimes. She would be able to match Chandler’s sarcasm and is often the only one to fully understand Phoebe’s quirkier sayings and habits, which I feel like the fanbase would appreciate. I have a feeling many people would also love the running gag of her apartment possibly being haunted, and her adorable relationship with Joey would have many fans squealing and waiting for them to get together before they even did.
However, on the other side of that, I feel like some people wouldn’t like her for “standing in the way” of Joey and Phoebe, or Joey and Rachel, or whatever one of Joey’s love interests they might think is better with him than her. They might also find her social awkwardness annoying, or feel like she’s overbearing or bossy whenever she tries to talk the rest of the group out of another wacky plan or idea (even though she’s just concerned for her friends and trying to keep them out of trouble).
Tumblr media
what is ivana morozova’s most prominent personality trait?
Definitely her unwillingness to trust. Having grown up in the Den of Lions among other assassins-in-training who were willing to kill or attack her at any moment if they thought it might have earned them more favor with their teachers, Ivana is incredibly slow to trust people even a little bit, which is one of the reasons it takes her months of encounters while on patrol to even break her silence and speak to Dick (the other, bigger reason being that she was literally sent to Gotham to kill his younger brother, not that she was planning to actually do that). Even when she finally starts to let people in, it takes another age for her to truly start to break down her walls, because she was not raised or trained to trust anyone, and it’s very hard to unlearn something like that.
Tumblr media
if marnie hoffman was going to commit a crime, what would it be and why?
Definitely defacing public property. It would undoubtedly be for a good cause, of course - graffiti on the house of a corrupt politician or something like that - but Marnie would definitely be most likely to wreck something as a message not to mess with her and her sense of justice.
(She might also, if the occasion calls for it, engage in a bit of arson. But it would probably take a lot for her to actually set something on fire.)

i'm sorry but I really need to get this out of my chest
-i really like 6x08 and 6x09 was a really good episode but while i liked the break up scene and it was very painful to watch it felt like something was missing. they've known each other for 10 years and have been in a relationship for 2 and are married and maybe it was because we go from killing and dying for each other to we're poison in only one episode or because we don't see really them in the aftermath of howard's death idk but i thougth with the context of the season it would feel diferent but with only one episode left it still doesn't. of course the break up was absolubty necesary and inevitable at that point and had to happen.
-i didn't like nippy (i don't think it was a bad i just didn't like it) but after seeing people saying that if you didn't like it you were stupid and didn't understand the show it only made me dislike it even more. for me it was a wasted episode and near the end, it had it's tension but i didn't need a whole episode for that scam.
-then 6x11 was so frustrating because he got jeff off of his back, he seemed a little ''happy'' at the end of nippy and he doesn't have to be isolated he could live a somewhat ''normal'' life. he refuses to be better and then he goes back to scamming and not only that now he's also druging people. i know the call made him spiral but now in 6x12 he seems violent when he never was and it comes out of nowhere (it's not the same telling someone to kill and doing it yourself) and he was willing to kill 2 people until marion tells him that she trusted him and we can see a glimpse of jimmy. idk some things are happening so fast... we spent 6 seasons getting to know who jimmy was and now some things feel so rushed.
as for kim i feel so bad for her, living the life she ran away from, still feeling guilty and not having opinions on anything. she's just a shell of what she once was, six years later and she's still punishing herself for everything and now probably she feels even worse after seeing what jimmy has become, she was trying to save them and she killed them both. it's so sad that they both think they ruined the other...
i just hope jimmy/saul/gene can get some peace and face his demons even though it feels unlikely rn and that kim can escape that guilt and that life she never wanted especially now that she has confessed everything. regarding mcwexler i'd love to see a reunion (not in court please peter) so they can get some kind of closure (if they run away together even better) but i just need something so i don't feel like their whole history didn't mean anything, it's empty and that they are bitter towards each other because i would love to be able to rewatch the show.

Fanfic Writer Ask Meme: J, M, T,
J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?
Ah, so many. Found family, hurt/comfort, fics where a character fakes their death/is presumed dead and returns, fix-it fics, angst… I think the only one I haven't written is the whole faking-your-death one, and the other tropes are pretty much exclusively what I write. I kind of just found a handful of tropes and went “yep, I guess this is the thing I’m obsessed with and will be writing forever now”. I'm definitely forgetting some tropes, but those are the ones off the top of my head.
M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?
This explanation is so long, I'm so sorry
In the grand scheme of all fanfiction ever this isn’t weird, but it’s still a little weird and a bit different from what I usually write? I’m working on a fic where it’s Peter-as-Ralph stuck in his Hex persona post-Hex because Agatha is still in control of him, and she can’t un-control him because she’s being controlled by Wanda to be Agnes. Basically, they’re both stuck in their Hex identities as they slowly realize that something is wrong and that they’re the only ones trapped. I just felt like there was so much wasted potential with their dynamic that could have been really funny. I had another idea that essentially starts out that way but quickly diverges into somewhat of a thriller (well, as much as it can be when I’ve never attempted that genre, anyway) where Agatha—trapped as Agnes—is angry at Peter for failing to get info on Wanda, and she thinks that the only way to break out of her forced sitcom trope role is to do something so drastic and so out of character for Agnes that the spell breaks. She comes to the conclusion that the way to do this is to kill Peter, because a) the guy that wrecked a large part of her plan would be out of the picture, and even if she does stay stuck as Agnes she’ll at least be living alone now and b) Peter is in WITSEC so there's a lot of people looking for him, which means her killing him would definitely not go unnoticed (even moreso than killing someone random), so the FBI would eventually track Peter down and hopefully get her out—even if it’s to jail. Currently I'm trying to figure out if I can combine the two fic ideas without totally doing a 180 genre-wise, since I feel a little weird that the very basic starting premises for both are so similar.
T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?
I personally don’t like reading excessive/pointless violence or sex, which covers a lot of tropes (although ironically, I have watched and enjoyed AHS, but I’m not a fan of those things there either; I pretty much stick around because the main actors are so consistently good (Evan Peters, please do more projects outside of AHS, Mare of Easttown was so good)). As for a specific trope—I wouldn’t say I “can’t stand” this because I do understand why people like it, but I can’t wrap my head around most enemies-to-lovers scenarios? I can’t imagine genuinely disliking/hating a guy and then going “but he’s super cute, so I guess I can look past all the things I disliked/hated before.”. I totally get the appeal of “you’ve seen the worst of me and love me anyway” that typically comes with enemies-to-lovers, but I don’t see why being enemies inherently has to be a part of that, I guess?
