it's sad how many reviews and stuff around tmbg seem to centre linnell as the sole dark and creepy writer of the band, never really crediting flansburgh too. do "hide away folk family," "dirt bike," "rabid child," "black ops," "cloisonné" mean nothing to them, smh.

#tmbg #this rigid dichotomy they tend to get forced into even tho linnell has written some happier songs and flansburgh plenty horrific ones #I'll be honest tho. I fully went into tmbw-interp-tab conspiracy when I first heard ''sleeping in the flowers'' lmao #I thought that song was about somebody getting murdered #the title seemed like a euphemism to me #it's actually. according to flansburgh. just about getting high in central park #and it's inspired by itchycoo park by the small faces which I knew and loved before and it's GREAT go listen to that. it's '60s psychedelia #so the lyrics are prob fantasising about spending time with the crush and essentially playfully talking sweet nothings together #bc they're stoned and in love #but honestly I thought ''you proclaim that you're an island. I proclaim that I'm one too''#''I declare that I am england. you declare that I have drowned''#sounded to me like someone trying to get away and be alone but the other person not getting the hint #esp bc the narrator introduces themself as not wanting to be ''known as the creep''#the part about getting a ride home with a drunk guy ''who showed me how to spin my head round and round''#sounded like the driver helping them get their story straight/take their mind off it #and the narrator feels they came across as ungrateful about their advice in their shocked state #plus the way the instrumental between the verses and chorus changes from fuzzy and gritty to lighthearted brass #like it's catching you off-guard #but it's not about any of that it's about being high #anyway none of that is an example of a genuinely creepy flansburgh song but

For y'all's review for the AU: A Prequel Outline - Divorce Saga Domon

Hey real quick - I'm thinking of maybe changing the timeline to 2 years post canon as opposed to 3 years and change post canon.

The reason being: I had a thought that this scene could either be part if the fic or if it's getting to big then it could be a stand alone tie-in prequel fic as part of this AU but - like

Immediately Post Divorce Domon Needs Space and runs off. As one does. And he runs to Earth because he just wants to Get Lost for a while.

He has Argo smuggle him out to avoid detection.

Argo has Andrew help stow Domon in a storage hanger of a Neo Canadian supply ship that's returning to the US - they have trade often enough and share agricultural resources - which leads to Domon ending up in New York when he hits Earthside pavement.

He's privately worked on his English the last couple of months and after being dropped in New York with a different hairstyle, outfit, and accent he's unrecognizable.

He considers making his way west to get some solitude in the wilderness, but something about that initial plan feels off now that he's on the ground.

Chibodee is also Earthside for a special series of prize fights aimed at raising charitable appeal for the US in the eyes of Neo Americans.

Domon decides to hit up Chibodee for a fight on a day between matches hoping it'll clear his head and give him the clarity to decide on a course of action. What ends up happening is an unexpected heart to heart via blows and a breakdown.

Domon is happy for Rain and Kyoji, and he knows it's not true; but he feels like he lost a piece of himself when his relationship with Rain fell apart.

Domon's instinct is to run after that but Chibodee knows this city and Domon doesn't hide out for long before Chibodee drags him back to his place to stay and just "Chill out and breathe. You don't have to be anyone but yourself here. You can take as long as you need to find out what everything changing means for you." Friends and teammates stick together.

So Domon spends a few weeks with Chibodee sparring and hanging out in New York. Chibodee does a frankly awesome job at containing his feelings because he's focusing on Domons feelings and being a good friend first and foremost. Whatever he's feeling can wait until after Domon is done going though it.

There's a bit of a twinge in Domon's heart as he leaves that he can't really place.

After he returns to Neo Japan and gets settled back into life with his family, The Dreams start.

They're mainly set in New York. Small things first like noticing Chibodee's smile and his eyes. Then sparring sessions that begin to turn lurid.

He thought these kinds of dreams would stop after he was married.... he doesn't know what to do about this.

I just figure it gives more clarity and sense of time for the journey from Comphet Marriage Dissolution to Feelings to Confession. Idk.

But I got stuck on a bit and then had this thought and needed to get it down before I lost it and it was so long it made sense to make it its own post as opposed to several replies.

The Maize and Clown Motel will probably still be 3 years and change post canon for clarification.

#Domon Kasshu/Chibodee Crocket #Royal Flush #Chibodee Crocket/Domon Kasshu #Royal Flush Haunted Honk AU #mobile fighter g gundam #I imagine he hasn't had time for a Big Gay Crisis yet but the time is absolutely now #Kyoji absolutely helps him through this crisis because he had a normal environment and university to figure his own shit out.#Kyoji has to figure out WHY Domon is imploding and explosive and avoiding everyone a second time though.#This doesn't seem related to the Divorce but it doesn't seem immediately obvious either. 🤔#Cue Schwarz FINALLY getting a fucking break and immediately coming to stay with Rain and Kyoji at their place.#Domon was aware that they had been living together in Neo Japan briefly before Schwarz was called back to Neo Germany for questioning #Once his rank was stripped of him he was back with Kyoji for a short period before the Divorce as part of Kyoji and Dr. Kasshu's study of #DG Cells. Once they had a breakthrough - Schwarz was sent abroad with a small military group and Doctors Without Borders group to assist #With immediate infection cases on behalf of Neo Japan as part of reparations. So Domon hadn't seen him in quite some time.#Domon certainly wasn't expecting to see him in the garden when he rounded the corner of the Mikamura residence #Leaned over Kyoji who appears to have been working outside on his laptop. Fingers intertwined a hand on Kyojis jaw and locked in a kiss.#Which ends pretty much instantly as they sense Domon and break apart. It occurs to Kyoji and Schwarz that Kyoji never #Got the chance to actually tell Domon much about himself and the man he'd grown into while Domon was training in Hong Kong with Master Asia #This might be a pretty significant shock to him.#I can't decide between Domon running from his Gay Revelation or IMMEDIATELY Losing His Shit at the thought of Rain's SECOND marriage ending #And knowing for sure now the reason why his and Rain's marriage didn't work out. He really does prefer men.#Bu HOW DARE Kyoji do this to her!!! She's been through enough!!!! This will HURT her SO BADLY!!! (Projection of guiiillllttt)#Back to square 1 fir a moment like damn #And once he starts fighting Kyoji about it (Thank God the ressurection gave them the option to make Kyojis new build similar to Schwarz's)#It comes out that Rain cant go through this AGAIN and he won't let him do this to her! Her honor means something to Domon #And it should mean something to Kyoji too as HER HUSBAND #Kyoji and Schwarz catch on the Again bit and Kyoji makes it clear that Rain has known about his situation with Schwarz since they returned #That they're quite literally inseparable and that Rain married him knowing this. She's fully aware and an active participant.#Domon takes a leg sweep and doesn't quite make his recovery as Schwarz steps in #Pinning his arms and one leg in place so he can't run from Kyojis question. Kyoji grabs Domon's hair to turn his head and asks

so there's a reason my new job got back to me so quickly about my application and that's bc it's an absolute fucking shambles like actually perfect timing for me to decide to rewatch the bear bc i have never more felt like ive been thrown into a broke on-its-knees establishment trying to crawl its way up the ladder where i am somehow a godsend to them. my old job was crazy and shambolic in the sense that the industry is just Like That but this one?????? insanity. every 5 mins i am questioning what im doing with my life. ive already had a walk-in fridge moment

#so i explained before that there's 3 venues and on my very first shift they had me doing the restaurant venue for 2 hours #which was FINE like i was a bit cautious bc my manager is VERY stressed all the time and the place generally feels like it's falling apart #not the building itself just. the way it's run like it's just got new owners and the previous manager apparently #EMPTIED THE TILLS AND TRASHED THE PLACE like cost them THOUSANDS of pounds and on top of that #there was beef with the head chef and the new owners that meant he left and took the ENTIRE BACK OF HOUSE WITH HIM #THERE ARE NO KITCHEN STAFF ATM. I HAVE TO LIE AND TELL CUSTOMERS WE DONT HAVE FOOD ATM BC OF 'REFURBISHMENT'#WHEN IN ACTUALITY THE /RESTAURANT/ DOESNT HAVE CHEFS. DO YOU KNOW HOW CRAZY THAT IS #and then the front of house staff are very lacking aside maybe 2 people we're ALL NEW and all of them EXCEPT ME #LIKE LITERALLY JUST ME IM THE ONLY EXCEPTION. ALL OF THEM ARE UNTRAINED #so when i applied with bar training coffee training and very solid waitressing skills they genuinely treated me like a saviour #like i am FENDING off shifts tbh im in a v good position bc they need me too much to get shitty w me if i refuse hours but i can literally #have as many as i want bc they will just give me them. like they're obsessed w me im rota'd for over 60 hours this week #but anyway that very first shift after 2 hours in the restaurant i then walked to the mini golf venue on the OTHER SIDE OF TOWN #and my manager stayed for 30 MINUTES. IF THAT. and showed me around the place + how to close THEN LEFT ME THERE #FIRST DAY HE GAVE ME THE KEYS AND LEFT ME TO RUN AN ENTIRE VENUE. IT'S NOT SMALL EITHER IT'S A WHOLE BAR #AND I HAD TO CLOSE ON MY OWN TOO and ironically the shift itself went rlly well like it was so chill #it was kinda boring but honestly i kinda rated it it's v easy money and the close went perfectly nothing cropped up that i was unsure about #and then. AND THEN. i havent even ranted to my mutuals about this yet bc i was acc so horrified by it but i locked the front doors #and went to lock the gate AND THE KEY GOT STUCK IN THE LOCK. WOULD NOT COME OUT. HELLA VS KEYS ROUND 3927593 #my mum even showed up and tried to help me wrestle this thing out i called my manager and he literally told me to just snap it #bc he'd rather a snapped key that NO ONE could get out than just leave it there overnight but bc of my recent house key moment #i was like AM I FUCK SNAPPING THIS KEY. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING. so i had to just leave it and at the time #i was realllyyyyyyyyyy beating myself up but my manager is actually rlly nice he's just stretched v thin #and ive also had time to be like uhh actually they shouldnt have left a random 21 y/o girl alone with the keys on her first day #omg i havent even talked about what happened on saturday. ACTUAL SHAMBLES #LIKE THIS /\/\ ISNT EVEN CLOSE TO EVERYTHING! IM RUNNING OUT OF TAG ROOM! I love the idea of Irwin "animatedly" doing anything. Somehow I never picture the abrasive, ascetic, brawler colonists as very "animated" characters, but maybe he's just trying to make the lesson engaging for the little guy. I bet Irwin is a great teacher.

Also, yeah, we got a dinosaur. His randomly generated name is Swampy. I have not had the courage to attempt drawing him yet. Dinosaurs are awesome but also very tricky to draw.

Irwin and Andy continued to hang out for a little while, playing with axes as every reasonable adult looking after a three-year-old would do.

But, alas, while teaching the child about mathematics and biology and tree-felling, it appears Irwin's abrasive trait has also been noticed. Kids do learn from example, but I guess nobody told Irwin that.

Every time I lend out Odette data for screenshots with people, I always get at least one shot of OCs standing next to (towering over) Odette and some comment along the lines of "SHE IS SO SMALL" and it makes me teeheehee for real!!! The only time this doesn't happen is if I've linked mare with someone and we've RP'd before, and even then I usually get a DM about it x) I can't leave field of view alone for better or for worse so no one ever knows Odette's height until they see her next to other OCs. But she's part lalafell (her family line is traced back to Sil'dih) which is part of why she is so short and round!

decided to make myself gloves for winter. decided that crocheted gloves will be too bulky and chose to knit them instead. failed to work in a circle without creating gaps in between despite many attempts

Sometimes it annoys me that Show!Lucy is so...afraid, compared to Book!Lucy.

She runs from that Cold Maiden, where Book!Lucy would have stood and fought. She panics and simply thumps at the trap door in the Bickerstaff Mansion, where Book!Lucy would have used the flares at her workbelt and her rapier to buy herself some time. She shuts the iron doors at the mill, where Book!Lucy drew her rapier and ran towards the screams.

But then again...

Show!Lucy is 16, and has only been an agent for 3 years. Book!Lucy might be only 13 or 14 at the start, but she'd been an agent for at least 5 years when the incident at the Mill happened. Book!Lucy had pride in her identity as an agent - instilled in her back when Jacobs was sober and a good supervisor - and a good 6-7 years of experience before the Bone Glass case, whereas Show!Lucy is still scraping by on her 3 years of experience, and hasn't had a real opportunity to find pride in being an agent yet.

They're different characters. And honestly, I like it -- the characters were aged up for the show, but it wasn't just their ages but the world around them and all the background and growth that goes with that. Book!Lucy would have been a very different girl if she had become an agent at 13 instead of 8, I'm sure, and it's nice that we get to see that What-If played out on screen.

#lockwood and co #lucy carlyle #just rewatching the bickerstaff episode got me thinking #how small changes to our lives can create big changes to our persons #i like how none of the main trio are as prickly as they are at the beginning of the books #because they're all a little bit more emotionally mature because age #but they're also not as good at being agents as they are in the books #because they've all got much less experience #in the books all three are pretty damn good at being agents but not so great at being people at the start #and in the show it's the other way round #and it's believable and fascinating and a lot of fun!

#me it's me they should put me in charge #welcome to my campaign. all of the halfling and gnome NPCs are richly developed and well-rounded. maybe sometimes a dwarf will exist #actually I almost left elves out of this post because imho they're more interesting than anyone ever bothers to remember or implement #and I don't think they're boring and I would give them loving and meaningful worldbuilding-- but I DO think most people run them boring #'oh they're like humans but better. they're like beautiful humans who are old' that's IT?? I am ASLEEP!!!#anyway why do people just flatly refuse to engage with the small races at all!!#are they boring or are you just writing them off for no reason!!#I have one(1) dnd friend and DM who Gets It-- oh no sorry I forgot Justin is also my DM and dnd friend dfkjhgdfj. grabbed a bowl from the cabinet for my dinner, realized there was a small spider of a species that i didn't immediately recognize inside, spent the next couple of minutes on google images studiously perusing through several different similar-but-not-quite-correct brown spiders with black spots until i finally locate the Spitting Spider, and because i have terminal brainrot i have spent the last five minutes wracking my brain to make some kind of Spitting-vs.-Swallowing Spider joke bc Of Course I Would but ended up not really getting anywhere with it, so anyways how's y'all's absolutely thrilling monday nights going? 😆

tip: the clear plastic ornaments micheals sells for like a dollar is very useful for making various cosplay props

#cosplayers take NOTE #am painting one for various reasons and realizing this could make like a good potion bottle or fake grenade or SOMETHING for cosplay #they're clear and plastic #the hook thing at the top can easily pop off and on so you can access the inside #only issue is the top is kinda small to fit stuff through but like #still potential #they come in a variety of sizes too so like #im not trying to advertise i promise i just was like hey there's a lot you could do with this prop wise #mainly use it to make cool round potion bottle #lilac post

One thing I really love about Criminal Minds is how no matter what happens, they always find their way back to the BAU. In a borderline unhealthy way, because virtually all of them have sacrificed relationships and career gains to stay in their lil found family.

#yes I am referring to all the failed/self-sabotaged relationships and how many of them have left and come back a million times #look at u Emily and Rossi #and god so many of them have had a spouse be like 'it's me or the job' and they all choose the JOB #and we thought with the finale some of them would finally move on but here were #s16 and they're all fuckin back at the round table #it reminds me of the Community ep about how the study group was a lil codependent #none of the BAU would admit it but I think they are to a small degree #CM16
