another thing abt the young a.vengers verse that gets me; there's an instance where livvy ends up staying a night or two at the k.aplan house. billy and tommy aren't crazy about it for separate reasons- tommy isn't sure they'll be able to take care of her ( she's selectively mute, needs things to be a certain way to be comfortable, how will they calm her down if she has a nightmare? do they know what she likes to eat? ) and billy is not exactly psyched about leaving a child with VERY destructive powers and a history of killing in cold blood with his very human and mostly defenseless parents.

it's fine though. the k.aplans are gentle and patient with her and livvy actually really enjoys hanging out with them. when they leave she's so excited as she holds out her little whiteboard she uses to communicate to tommy and it reads that mrs. k.aplan even read her a bedtime story 🥺

the "textbook teenage girl who just happens to also be murderous" is an endlessly entertaining trope to me. they both have a sweet tooth and getou has probably told nanako not to use her phone at the table dozens of times. they tell each other "you're adopted" when they fight even though they're a) both adopted and b) have the same face and never once do either of those things occur to them. they got getou a "#1 dad mug" as a fathers' day gift when they were nine. they also kill people and enjoy it.

we haven't really been officially introduced to her yet but she's one of those characters that haunts the narrative from the edges and it's really cool. everything we know about her we know secondhand through megumi, but she has had an enormous impact on him--enough to stop him in his tracks before--and i'm super excited to meet her when she actually shows up.
