my evil hater opinion is that tails often enhance character designs but paw pads dont. not everything needs paw pads.

#specific: the autism creature does not need paw pads. trolls do not need paw pads.#every time theres ''cute beast'' with no direct animal equivalent ppl ruin it with paw pads.#general: sometimes rabbit furs can be cuter with them but done right but usually theyre much cuter without them like irl #u have to use them correctly if u do #like the autism creature wld look cute with pawpads if it was the single pink circle pad and not the individual toe ones #trolls wld look nice with em if under their hands/feet was jst lighter or darker without the individual finger pads etc #and looney tunes rabbits paw pads are fun and cute separate circles #i dont think tails belong on EVERY character (like chilchuck) but it at least makes me go oh cuuuuute!#paw pads on a character that doesnt need them actively makes them less cute

the complaints about removal of sokkas sexism are the stupidest and most surface level thing for everyone to be outraged about. His sexism was a trope of the genre, it was a CARTOON with tween boys as its intended demographics in the 00s, that sexism was an expected part of the male side kick character that it was.

It has 0% to do with the story for the character of Sokka, it was just it being a nickelodeon boys cartoon. It made zero sense in the story, he has NO sexist rolemodels to teach that attitude, he comes from a matriarchal society where no one would have praised him or reinforced that attitude. It did not fit in the setting, it was simply a genre convention of the time. Fun fact, the remake is NOT A CARTOON! I know, wild right and we've had over a decade of american animation deliberately rejecting that trope and stock character so it wouldn't even make sense in today's context if it was a cartoon, there's no trope to be in conversation with or function within the show, it'd just be there as tickbox 'accuracy' for nostalgia.
