The Cabinet has approved the Marriage Equality Bill, and the draft law is expected to be submitted during the next Parliament session, which will start on December 12, said Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.

If the draft bill is approved into law, Thailand will become the third Asian country, after Taiwan and Nepal, to recognize same-sex marriage.

The draft bill, initiated by the Move Forward Party, passed its first reading last year. However, the bill was shelved after the previous parliament was dissolved ahead of the May general election.

In addition to the Marriage Equality Bill, Srettha promised that the government would also consider a bill allowing transgender Thais to change their official gender registrations and a bill to decriminalize prostitution.

Srettha's administration is also submitting a bid for Thailand to host the World Pride parade in 2028.

Update 8/20/23

Hey y'all!

I bet you're wondering where your Sunday update is at, and for that I'm sorry. I've decided to take a hiatus. The weekly update schedule was fine when chapters were shorter, simpler, and relatively in line with canon. But as they get longer, more complex, and deviate further and further from canon, still trying to update weekly has been a drag.

This isn't to say I'm losing interest in this fic, far from it, I just don't want it to become a chore (the absolute worst thing that can happen to a longfic imho). Thank you to my beta goddcoward for giving me the permission I needed to take this break <3 I was so relieved yesterday that it spurred me to write 2000 words of what will (probably) become chapter 29 in about 2 hours after days of writer's block, so I know it was the right decision.

I don't know when exactly I'll be back, but I want to have at least three chapters finished by then (so probably about a month from now). Trying to finish chapters the same week I post them has been more stressful than fun, and I want to build up a buffer of finished chapters that I've really had time to sit with and evaluate before I start posting again.

All of that said, there are so many character arcs and story twists and different POV chapters I cannot WAIT to get to. This has been such an incredibly fun project so far, and I am so grateful to all of you for reading, commenting, and sharing your thoughts with me. I appreciate it all so, so much <3 <3 <3

I may draw and engage with a lot of silly and fluffy content about him but I can’t forget the fact that the scene that really made me interested in him was the toe scene. like that was the hook for me!! I genuinely want to see more crazy shit like that from him!!! like I do enjoy him when he’s complicated and bad actually hope this helps :)

So, you know how I JUST FUCKING BARELY signed a lease at a new apartment? Today I walked into the kitchen to (nicely) ask my landlord to get her shit out of the washer so I could do laundry (her sheets have been in there for 3 days), and I saw THIS SHIT on the counter

The note reads:

Everyone -- IMPORTANT

I have severe damage in roof. May be needing to have house temp severely lowered this winter. Don't know if could be mold.

Contractors are months (year) out although am working with a no-longer-contractor and have talked to one of the best known roofing contractors in [town].

I am closing the house down and will be sending lease termination notices. Obviously you could leave earlier.

Idk if y'all remember the fucking FIGHTING about fixing the leaking roof with my last landlord, but this time the leak is so bad we're all getting kicked out altogether.

I am SO FUCKING GLAD I already found a place. Fucking hell.

And suddenly my appointment to take some measurements in the new apartment got changed for key handover (which is good). I feel a little jet lagged by the development of this matter, but that's okay. I still don't have my physical lease agreement copy (but I have a digital copy of the other side's agreement so technically I don't need it anyway) and I still need to get that little extra paper signed that includes my pets (will do at the handover, or at least hand over the extra agreement - in hopes management is authorized to sign that on the spot, and I will cry if not. Hopefully that will be done in a much tighter time frame either way...), but I'm hopeful this weird situation will be fully solved soon and I can happily move in with my pets in late May. And use the time until then to get back to art and the shop FINALLY.

I’m also advocating for a 🍉 family, their last two fundraisers resulted in their PayPal accounts being blocked by PayPal, so I'm organising on behalf of them with their permission and transferring the money raised to them through the bank (This is me being completely transparent for anyone that is uncomfortable, if you are, please do not donate, I will completely understand). (The money that was originally raised isn't lost, PayPal is holding on to it, but they can't fight to get it back in their current conditions since they're moving a lot and WiFi is unstable at the best of times. So if you donated before, do not worry, they'll be able to use that money to rebuild once they've evacuated to a safe place). I’m currently not open for commissions because I’m burnout from the last lot I’ve had to do (it’s the exact reason I don’t do commissions, but this is an emergency), but I am raffling off the Across the Spiderverse Artbook (never used, might as well be brand new) to anyone that donates at least €10. Also, if we manage to get to €7k I’ll draw James and Jessie in all of Barbie and Ken’s outfits from the live action Barbie movie (James will be dressed as Barbie and Jessie as Ken).
