This post does not pass the Bechdel test!
Two named female characters ❌
The 2 named characters Adam and Lucifer Morningstar are canonically (literally) male
They must talk to each other✅
They do talk
The conversation must not be about a man❌
Conversation about Adam and Lucifer, which are already established Male
(0/3) disappointing considering how many gimmicks are on the hellsite that no women have met this post
i summon thee, gimmick blogs, to bring me the fruits of your gimmick. failure to do so will result in death.

Here's my hot (though probably unoriginal?) take.
The Bechdel test is overrated. While it's a GREAT tool for identifying women's represtantion, it's binary, and frankly, humans don't always pass it. Yes, it was incredible for the 90s when it was popularized (the 90s, right?). It's an important piece of critical history. However, it is not the end all be all of criticism.
Even with binary people, there needs to be representation about men between men, just as there needs to be representation about women between women. I think it's great if something passes the test. However, I don't think critique of media should begin and end with the Bechdel test. It's ONE way to analyze a text.
If you flip the test and evaluate it based on "do 2 men have a convo not involving a woman?" that can tell you a lot.
If it fails the Bechdel test, does it fail the opposite? Is it that there aren't purely woman-centered conversations becuase it's sexist, or is it balanced between the "Two Primary Genders" (as is common in film, at least. Enbies are valid and deserve rep too!)
Is it sexist and unbalanced, or is it a story about a grandfather and grandson because it's based on the writer's experience? Or from her imagination? Or becuase they just liked the story and wanted to write about that kind of relationship dynamic?
Is it a text that's sexist, or is it centering other identities like class, race, and/or nationality? Intersectionality is important, so ideally films and books and everything else should involve women (and enbies) in those categories and beyond, but films should also be allowed to feature queer relationships and familial ties and friendships without awkwardly fitting in One Scene to technically Pass. Idk, I haven't thought tons about it, but I'm not a big fan of it being used as the The One Reason to hate media.

Does helluva boss pass the Bechdel Test? i was asked once.
Here’s what the bechdel test is for those curious:
The usual criteria of the Bechdel Test are (1) that at least two women are featured, (2) that these women talk to each other, and (3) that they discuss something other than a man.
No. It has not.
Across 20 episodes, and several shorts, Loona and Millie have had two real conversations. Truth seekers and ghost fuckers. All of them, no exceptions, are entirely about the male characters: blitz and moxxie. The men’s safety and emotional states. They fail step 3.
Stella and Octavia didn’t pass step 2 until the final episode of season 2 despite being in a show that for whatever reason is not about imps but now entirely about their family with stolas. And they did not pass step 3.
In harvest moon they almost passed it with millie and her mom, but failed when Lin told millie she should cheer on sally, but also her brothers, and her boss instead of participate in the activity herself. Wow.
Sallie and Millie of course talk about all sorts of topics in hells bells. But that was entirely written by Morgana and is not part of the ongoing narrative. It took almost four years to get here.
Well said, Anon. And no, Viv...hovering in the background, seething at anyone who criticizes the way you write female women and insisting it's going to get better eventually isn't enough to push something over the line of passing the Bechdel Test.

Does Miraculous Ladybug pass the Bechdel test? 🧐
(Quick reminder of what that is: the Bechdel test is a measure of the representation of women in film and other fiction. The test asks whether a work features at least two women who have a conversation about something other than a man.)

I want to intentionally write a work of fiction where two of the female characters have an extended interpersonal conversation throughout the whole piece, kind of like rosencrantz and guildenstern
But every conversation they have involves a man in some way, even if only very peripherally, except one
And one day someone will be working on the Bechdel test wiki which I'm sure must exist
And this scene, this one scene between two women will result in an absolute firestorm of discussion on this wiki, because this conversation will involve a character no one knows the gender of. And clues will be given in the rest of the piece as to their gender, but no one will know for sure, some people on each side will claim to have absolute knockdown drag out arguments, and no one will agree. Nobody will know what the gender of this particular character is
So no one will know whether this movie passes the Bechtel test or not
It will be a superposition of test states. Schrodinger's bechdel test. It won't fit in A, it won't fit in B. And nobody will ever know which side of the line it's on
And then I want to find other movie categories. Other examples of simple binaries. And I want to create stories or art or books or whatever that not only manages to not be on one side or the other, but also they're not in the middle and cannot really be categorized either way despite the fact that they're definitely in one of the two categories
A superposition of states. Not just ambiguous, but provocative
What does this say about me

Women In Elvis Movies
Tumblr media
I have not yet reviewed this movie, but it got me thinking about International Women's Day and how women were depicted in Elvis movies. The range women had were quite small with a majority simply having one character trait: love interest.
There were, however, a couple that stuck out as having more than just that to them. It’s not an exhaustive list but still worth mentioning.
Tumblr media
Glenda is a very interesting character as a woman. Older women like herself usually play generic old maids, naggy wives or school teachers. But Glenda is none of those things. She plays a business manager and if anything is somewhat of an antagonist since she creates a conflict in what Deke wants in life.
Even though she has a romance with Tex and Deke had a bit of a complex with her, romance was not the focus of her character. Business was. It's actually quite progressive for her, an older woman, to be in charge and have a lot of power in this small part of Texas. Her fighting city hall is a testament to her power as she convinced the men to let Deke perform.
Maybe I'm missing a glaring 50s movie that also had this happen, but I don't think women in business outside of the coffee girl or older secretary was ever depicted in film until much later. No one in the movie from what I remember even talked down to her for being a woman. That she couldn't possibly be a successful manager like you would see so called "progressive" films.
Glenda was rejected because men didn't believe Tex could be a success and that Deke was too scandalous to promote. Her being a woman was never the issue which is impressive.
Very underrated character and ahead of her time.
Tumblr media
Mrs. Burton I believe actually has a role that passes the Bechdel Test. When her and Pacer go to the Kiowa camp, she talks with her sister about their safety from the upcoming attacks. While it was not outright featured, the implications involve two women having a conversation that is not specifically about a man.
Mrs. Burton describes her heartache to Pacer regarding her practically being disowned by her family. While it is possible part of it has to do with her marrying a white man and living in a white village, the onus would have been on her choices itself.
Just because she does play a mother, doesn't mean that was all she did. This trip to the camp that ultimately cost her her life showed that she was trying to play a diplomatic role.
Before the town turned on her, she also played a role of a healer. She saved the Howards from dying of a sickness. Her role in the town felt so vital as without her, Pacer was ready to just let the town burn.
A motherly figure for sure but a very well written one.
——————————————————————
I know you’re wondering where Peggy from Jailhouse Rock is. The issue with her is that she’s not that present throughout the movie. If not for her feelings for Vince she wouldn’t have even helped him out. Sure she still is the brains behind the operation but again the main focus is how she personally feels towards Vince. She even admitted that she didn’t care that much about Vince’s financial success but the fact that she was able to do this with him. That still makes her a love interest first written character.
But let me know what you think since maybe I’m missing a great female character that is more than just a love interest.

[old kagepro fan shinaya bias kanoshin curiosity] RRRRAAAAAAAAAA HAPPY AND HEALING AYANO TALKING TO TAKANE AND HARUKA THIS IS MY DREAM COME TRUE THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
i’m so glad ayano decided to talk to them, i would love to know how she finally gained the courage especially after avoiding hanging out with them in an earlier part. the yuukei quartet relationship has always been so important to me and im SO HAPPY TO READ AN ENTIRE CONVERSATION WITHOUT SHINTARO INVOLVED (in person lol). i remember you once said ayano and takane’s relationship being about boys made no sense because takane would bully her about it and i agree so much and im glad we got to see the bullying in action. and ayano being honest about everything INCLUDING THE FACT THAT SHE FELT LEFT OUT is so nice! very happy for her and that she realizes that she’s loved and will always be loved. i know i repeat it so much but the portrayal of her self hate and her selfishness is really one of my favorite parts of kagefuture.
harutaka forever of course. i loooove seeing them as mature voices of reason for shintaro and ayano. it’s funny that ayano was shocked at their maturity, and im sure it’s because they haven’t hung out as much due to the shinaya divorce, but i also like to think that at least subconsciously ayano was thinking she was the most mature of the dan. she’s got 3 kids and takes on so many responsibilities after all! also harutaka talking about their kid was the sweetest thing. they did get a perfect child on the first try <3
visual gags beautiful as always. i love takane breaking the 4th wall knowing full well she was not written to pass the bechdel test. ayano melting was hilarious and so was ene’s imagined version of how kanoshin’s conversation went. everything about this part made me feel warm and fuzzy thank you so much <3
EEK... THANK U SO MUCH FOR UR FEEDBACK!!!!!
i think rather than courage, what makes ayano go to haruka and takane is probably desperation lol. i think all things considered a part of her is down to earth (she is a mom after all, she knows she has to be somewhat put together for the sake of her kids) and realistically knows she needed to talk to an outsider. probably because of everything shintaro said to her in part 19. so you get to be mad and i cant? how is that fair? i think stuff like that made her be like yeah i need some harsh truths. no one is more perfect for that job than takane!
yuukei quartet so so so very important to me. even in canon, it does feel like ayano's a little... more distanced, not on purpose but bc she's also got all the daze and family stuff going on, she's literally the friend going through inexplicable horrors. and i think post str, though they all hang out, shintaro and takane are glued at the hip, haruka is glued to takane, and ayano also has all her family so it's like the 3 of them hang out a lot while ayano dedicates her time to other people too. AND then the breakup? yeahhh... ayano ends up distancing herself, but harutaka and shintaro also kind of exclude her in present time. she's got kids so she can never hang out as much as they do. they're all gamers and she only ever played bc they were all into it and now she doesn't have as much time to do it anyway. idk. a lot of things. no one does it on purpose, but all 4 of them notice ayano's distanced.
i love what u said about ayano thinking she's the most mature one. ur right! takane's my favorite character so in this one it was in fact difficult to keep it focused on ayano, shintaro and kano rather than on harutaka/takane LOL but i felt it was necessary for her to explain just Why she's telling ayano such specific things. it's cause she knows how she feels! and when writing it i got pissed off bc i was like dude they both have the same problem because jin wrote them as manic pixie dream girls for shintaro LMAO so i included it. i also included haruka saying "she LET me help" because that's a very important part of it. takane put in the work and she also let someone else in, which isn't easy to do. and that's what ayano's doing now by accepting words of advice from them.
harutaka got a perfect kid without even trying that thang surprised the hell out of them. while ayano's pregnancy is a dramatic comedy, takane's was a body horror movie for her. traumatic as hell. sorry takane. i enjoy these characters being tormented.

Analyzing Mary Sues
The fact that people are specifically so harsh against Mary Sues is ridiculous considering it’s almost always just a case of inexperienced creatives creating for fun.  It’s even crazier that most of the time, they don’t even point out the correct issue.
Some of the more common definitions claim that a Mary Sue is a character that fits many of the following:
- A character that is ridiculously overpowered.
- A character that is written as “extremely beautiful”.
- A character that is highly intelligent.
- A character that is dearly loved by all of the cast.
- A character that is “over-designed”.
- A character that is treated extremely well.
- A character that is an author self-insert.
However, though these are common traits of Mary Sues, this is not actually what a Mary Sue is, nor are these the actual issue, think of it similarly to a “character illness,” these are all symptoms, but the actual issue is simply what’s causing them to show.
Mary Sues come from the writing issue of only having one character.  You may be thinking something along the lines of “but usually Mary Sues are used with other characters.”  And this is, on a more literal level true, but on the figurative level, false.
It’s an issue that, strangely enough, resembles the issue the Bechdel test was trying to tackle.
The Bechdel test resembles the same issue Mary Sues have because the issue is that characters become props instead of characters.  In works that don’t pass the Bechdel test, female characters are nothing more than props, they’re an “object” used to fill the role of a caricature.  The only difference is that what the Bechdel test is testing for is a case of male characters vs. female characters whereas Mary Sue is a case of the Sue character vs. all non-Sue characters (and oftentimes the universe itself).
For a simple Mary Sue test, simply ask, does the work have two characters who have conversations and make actions unrelated to the Sue?  More specifically, is everything in the story just a tool used by the author to make the Mary Sue seem a certain way (E.g. awesome, cute, cool, pitiful, et cetera)?
The problem of Mary Sue-ism is simply that, to an outside perspective, it is like watching the author play with puppets.  You can never more clearly see the hand of the author than when there’s a Mary Sue, because they’re making everything serve the Sue.
If you’ve made an OC in the past that’s a Mary Sue, feel like you don’t know how to not make a Mary Sue, or are afraid of making a Mary Sue, that’s perfectly okay.  Making a Mary Sue is like any mistake, it’s natural to make mistakes and recognizing that one has made a mistake is the first step to getting better.  Having made a Mary Sue character should not make you ashamed or embarrassed, really no mistake in learning how to write that you’re trying to fix or have fixed should (i.m.o.).
Personally, the way I deal with Mary Sues that pop up in my own story is simply to make more Mary Sues in the same story, then make a world separate from them that you love dearly.  After that, switch gears and try to make them fit into the story.  Can they be special?  Yes, as long as there’s an explanation.  Should everyone love them?  If you truly love your world, you probably would want to flesh out the denizens of that world as people, if they’re a beloved hero of one land, chances are they’re not for another.
TL;DR - Mary Sues specifically have the problem of seeing the hand of the author, and their issues of being “too perfect” or “too different” are only the symptoms of the rest of the story strictly being there to serve them;  The symptoms themselves are not the cause.
Sorry if this was too long, this is my first ever post.  Any critique or feedback is greatly appreciated.

saw the question of “how long does it take rvb to pass the bechdel test” and i got curious and also wanted to make myself mad so.
my answer is Reconstruction: Chapter 5 (s6e5). there’s a recorded conversation between sheila and tex about the ship crashing.
my answer with no caveats is Evacuation Plan (s9e4). carolina, 479er, filss and south all participate in a conversation that takes up a good chunk of the episode.
i talk a LOT more about the state of female character interactions under the cut.
the first time two women talk at all is s2e11/bgc30:
Tumblr media
sheila bisexual moments. while iconic, this isn’t much of a conversation (tex doesn’t ever speak to her) and it’s certainly about a man so. doesn’t count. next!
next is s3e1/bgc39:
Tumblr media
while here it’s implied that they are actually having a conversation at least we still don’t actually see any exchanges between them and they’re still talking about men and quote “Boring stuff like oppression, and a hostile work environment.” which is great but. a) we don’t see it. and b) again, still about men
next is tex and kai’s exchange in season 5. which is misogynistic as fuck and even if it did pass the bechdel test i would refuse to count it. but guess what! not only are they talking about men, but we literally do not see them talk to each other. kai speaks to tex “who’s o’malley?” but tex doesn’t respond to her, instead asking the guys “who’s the girl?” (s5e10/bgc92). then they talk in the background of the next episode while church and tucker are misogynistic. then it’s two more episodes until we get this gem
Tumblr media
y’know, girl stuff! how fucking charming. these writers really have a great grasp on how woman act. god, it’s even worse when compared to tex and sheila’s conversation earlier. in what world would tex be fucking intimidated by kai.
and you know what the joke of this all is. even if they did have a conversation here that passed the bechdel test it still wouldn’t count under some rule sets because kai still doesn’t have a name at this point. great work team.
s5e15/bgc92 has a deleted scene where kai calls up a girl friend and they talk… i’m not counting it because 1) kai is as of yet unnamed and the girl friend is never named, 2) the conversation is ostensibly about junior, though they do talk about other stuff enough that you could argue it’s not about a man, but 3) it’s deleted. you don’t get credit for shit you deleted.
next time two women talk to each other is recovery one episode 4. this is the first time we see two women have an actual, back and forth conversation. the conversation is between south and commamd about wash, delta, and the fact that south isn’t rejoining freelancer. i do think this conversation fits the spirit of the bechdel test (two women talking to each other with deeper characterizations unmoored from being about men) but that’s only really by technicality. command isn’t a character here and doesn’t become one for another 4 seasons; the conversation is only retroactively a deeper one. it’s up to you whether or not you pass it. i think it’s important to remember that the bechdel test isn’t really a hard test to determine what’s feminist (and was made in the first place to be about queer women being able to see themselves in media) but rather a marker to help sort out if the female characters in a work are allowed any depth outside of men. this exercise is less about finding a scene fitting exact criteria and more about. me going oh god it really is fucking bad out there huh.
my actual pick, as i said in the beginning, is s6e5. though tex mentions gamma and the aliens, the conversation is still about the fact that the ship is crashing. and in terms of the spirit of the test, two women yelling at each other as they die definitely fits definitely fits “deeper character motivations outside of men” imo. it’s. kind of really sad though. the first time we ever see tex and sheila have an actual conversation is the last time we really see either of them, chronologically. we only got to see them have a relationship as they were dying. why couldn’t they have been friends in life.
if a recorded conversation isn’t good enough for you, you’ll have to wait until s8e15. season 7 does not have a single woman in it. tεx and filss talk about pfl’s files. it’s not exactly an in depth back and forth and the conversation is shared with simmons and church but. it’s something. i think sheila and tex’s convo fits the spirit of the test a bit more but. let’s chalk it up to two conversations in the 8 seasons. fantastic.
all right, season 9 time. come on, a third of the main cast is women! that’s gotta bring our numbers up, right?
episode 1? no. 2? no. 3?
Tumblr media
incredible! we have a conversation between female operative and pilot! just kidding. the wiki doesn’t name them bc they haven’t been named yet, but this is a conversation between carolina and niner! no funny business! just an actual conversation between woman! wow. only took us nine seasons to get to a point where i can confidently say something passes the bechdel test with no caveats. unless we look at the 60 second rule. then. oops.
but… wow! episode 4 has… THREE women? talking to each other? and then a fourth joins in? i thought it was a myth! being able to handle so many women on screen at once… they really did something special here. anyway, this episode is the first to pass with flying colors. i can’t time shut bc i don’t have the videos on hand but i’m certain this passes the 60 second mark. great work! if only it didn’t take you nine years to get to this point.
ugh. i had more written past this point but tumblr erased it and i don’t feel like fucking redoing it. i got to the point i wanted to so. maybe i’ll continue this later. would like to explore the rest of pfl and chorus. it’s impressive how well pfl manages to avoid having women actually speak to each other. they’ll literally be in the same conversation but never actually address each other. this happens multiple times.

the bechdel test really is a poor measure for the misogyny of a movie tbh
like conclave doesnt pass, but its got deep themes of gender in the catholic church, the role of women is part of the themes
kraven however does pass. calypso and her grandmother talk about something other than a man. calypso's mother briefly tells her to stand to see a giraffe (unclear if the giraffe is a man (<- joke)). this film also has themes heavily focused on gender. however this is at the exclusion of women. they arent the focal point, men are, almost without fail. women are supporting roles. even calypso is being set up to be important later.
the devil's rejects is a movie i would call horrifying in its treatment of women (not in a fun horror movie way, in a way that feels misogynistic). but dont worry! two women and Baby do indeed have a conversation about something other than men!
like deeply at the end of the day it was a tongue in cheek joke between friends. it isnt even a bare minimum for a movie. deeply misogynistic or casually blithely misogynistic films still pass it

I watched SATC for the first time ever
I have THOUGHTS. No one needs to know my thoughts but I have written them out anyway. Overall, I'd say an 7/10 show.
Ok, so I've seen all 6 seasons now (none of the movies or the reboot/sequel series). I watched September through November 2024. I knew only a few things about the show:
Lauded as a great show about female friendship and every woman can/should be able to identify with one of the friends
No way can a columnist actually afford to live the way Carrie does, suspend your disbelief for that
One of the women goes through cancer and another or maybe the same one has a child after issues conceiving (IDK why this is what I knew but it was!)
SJP and KC hate each other bc of this show, after filming this show, since the beginning of this show or something, point is NOT besties IRL?
Ok general thoughts.
It aged both well and not very well. I like it overall, hence a positive 'rating' but there were scenes where I cringed and just stared and to like pause to think about what they just had said.
Seeing as it came out in 1998, I understand that it was rather revolutionary for them to talk so candidly about sex on a show (even an HBO one at that) for and about women. Kudos to Kim Cattrall for saying some of her lines with such a straight face. And I like that it's a view into what female friendships are like... but it did get very "are we even attempting to pass a Bechdel test?" territory sometimes. The point is romantic relationships, sex, and the like, so I think that you can sort of excuse the first season for having such asinine conversations, but I found myself more curious about Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha's jobs not just who they were banging. But when the stories involved their jobs it was more of how inconvenient it could be for them to be career women and date (mostly Miranda and somewhat Sam). For Charlotte it was a way to meet men who met her standards. Tell me about art! Or how you got here!
where are their parents and siblings!?! We meet Charlotte's brother and she thinks Sam isn’t good enough for him? Are y'all friends? And then we don't see anyone at her wedding. Or Miranda's! Miranda’s mom dies and she and her sis must not get along cause she’s never mentioned again. I DID like the support of the 3 during the passing of her mom tho.
The negatives of the show I am sure I am not the first to point out but so much like racism, transphobia, homophobia, and like? I'm genuinely surprised it was written by a gay man since the gay men we're introduced to are somewhat caricatures and idk if flat is the right word but the show didn’t seem to actually care about Stanford, despite being relegated as part of the friend group but not one of the girls.
I kinda wish they kept Carrie's 4th wall breaking from the first season. I enjoyed it being not only Carrie's thoughts on love, sex, and relationships but her random and somewhat diverse (at least in class/careers) group of acquaintances. I kinda liked that you had a man's perspective in Skipper, but he was just so incel-before-it-was-a-thing that yeah it was fine when he left. But basically, I would have like a more rounded cast of characters not just the 4 women themselves?
idk I think overall I liked it (I mean I watched it all and am now writing out my thoughts on it—tho partially cause no one I’m close with irl has seen it). The fashion! The overall feel that it does sort of glamorize and make me go "I can be single in the city in my 30s!".
Onto the women themselves!
Carrie: I understand why Carrie is hated. She kinda sucks. She's a better friend to the women when their issues are not serious. She overlooks their issues when she's got "bigger" things on her mind (Big/Aiden, other men, her career, her fashion/money troubles, etc.)
She doesn't seem to be very sex positive/open minded about sex despite being a sex columnist. Like her dating a bisexual man and "not knowing what to say" and “I don't think it exists/layover to gay town". Like girl, WHAT? but then she was also rather calm about the pissing kink man and was like “not for me but here are alternatives” so where’s that energy?
I really enjoyed her fashion, I think if I had that confidence (and admittedly body) I would wear all sorts of things like she did and not care what anyone thought.
Big sucks. The show should have ended with her yelling at Big to FUCK OFF and leaving for Paris (and added a scene with the women visiting her and celebrating her new life) BUT for the earlier seasons idk why she just didn’t listen to him, he basically told her he did not want anything serious with her. She pushed it to be something else. I LOATHED THE cheating story line mostly cause I really disliked how a confident woman like Carrie stooped so low and needed Charlotte to remind her to think about being in Natasha’s shoes (didn’t she also judge Sam when Sam fucked a married guy?) Like she had a babsic all women deserve respect attitude. also Big shoulda dated Charlotte if he wanted a trophy wife cause like Natasha is basically a 26yr old Charlotte. (Not that Charlotte deserves that expired jar of mayo of a man)
then she treated Aiden awful! and to justify their second relationship sucking!!!!! they changed his character to make him an asshole who punished her at every turn (tho in his defense WHY WOULD YOU STILL BE FRIENDS WITH BIG. Not even cause he was the affair partner [tho Carrie 👀 wtf] but like he wasn’t a good “friend” either) like Aiden seemed heartbroken over their relationship ending (both times) but unlike her, he seemed to be someone who would be able to communicate and work past issues but he just didn’t? He just like kept bringing it up, like dude if you’re willing to take back someone who cheated on you stated your boundaries and deal breakers don’t just punish people for breaking them without knowing what they are!
Also idk if this is a 2024 take but for a writer she doesn’t seem to have interests that match writers? It implies she reads vogue but she doesn’t have favorite fashion critics/writers and she doesn’t seem to ever do like any writing workshops (learning or even teaching) idk it just was noticeable that Aleks was “worldly” and she and her friends weren’t? Which brings me to how come Charlotte was the only one who somewhat behaved sanely there. I know Sam always talks about sex but cmon she’s a PR agent she would know how to talk to a millionaire artist at his fancy dinner. Miranda, the lawyer would too.
I hated when Carrie asked Charlotte for money and Charlotte basically asked for forgiveness for not being there for her and initially rejecting the idea and then gave her the ring! wtf? Sell off half your fashion for money girl. I find it hard to believe someone in their 30s really didn’t know shit about money and even a huge love a of fashion, sell enough to get money to get a loan!!!!
THAT BEING SAID
I kinda like that she was a toxic, selfish, went-for-the-guy-despite-him-being-bad-for-her main character. Good fashion, sarcastic and witty, I really kinda miss landlines cause of her, I really enjoyed the overall friendship that was implied Carrie offered (tho it didn’t come across very well in later seasons lbr). Again, if i could i'd have here confidence, love of indulgence, HAIR, glamours partying (within reason smoking aint for me), and be a published author in a glamorous city.
Charlotte:
I didn’t like Charlotte at first, too conservative and WASPY and very dated views on dating and sex. Also weird that she was friends with any of these women when she basically disagreed with their very vocal opinions on sex. Like she seemed very opposed to sleeping around, despite still sleeping around herself idk oxymoronic imo.
but
she was easier to come around on. She’s the romantic, she had some of the best line of the series “maybe we can be each others soulmates”, “I’m worth a million”. I think she should have ended things with Trey waaay earlier cause of Bunny, like babes she sucks even if you wanted to eventually be a WASPY socialite like her. Trey clearly will not stand up to her...But kudos to Trey giving her the apt after the shit he put her through. Harry was great! I think I would go about committing to something the way Charlotte did when she converted to Judaism, which was try your hardest to, study your ass off, and be ambitious and unrelenting in completing your goals. So I relate to that. I’m glad she got her baby in the end, she deserved an adoption waaaay earlier and damn was watching her miscarry was a hard episode. I relate to her in her ambitious and romanticism but I also do not relate to her trust fund ways lol
her style was very classic and almost 50s/60s inspired I like the lines and cuts the most out of her closet but I would go with bolder colors tbh! 🤔 l guess my ending would be:
Carrie tells Big fuck off, leaves to Paris. Charlotte visits with her baby and the others a year later. We get clarification that she adopted her baby (can we please get a name?) and that she has another adoption in the process!
Miranda:
They did her dirty. She was cynical and sarcastic and stubborn and I was sure she and Samantha would be the “it’s ok to never marry or even partner up” story lines. And then she got pregnant and while I can understand why she would keep a child if she technically wanted some in the future (I would have to rewatch or google but I was sure she and Sam were like “kids are no!” I was sure she never did even after her ovary scare) I HATE STEVE.
he’s childish, he’s immature, he’s not on her financial level! even after the bar becomes a success (does it? I feel like she’s paying for everything! cause it's her apartment!) This man brought a puppy to convince her for a child and did NOTHING. I do not understand why she “loves him”. Cause I understand like the man that gave you a child but BLAIR UNDERWOOD WAS RIGHT THERE! He was a successful doctor. He understood her neurosis and also was able to help her work through it like Steve (i'll give him that he tried to balance her out) and Robert was frankly a better option (remember Steve couldn't fucking take care of their baby despite being the one who allegedly wanted children 1-2 years earlier!). If she had to end up with someone, it should have been Robert. (Why did they make Blair/Robert a fucking loser after the breakup? I understand him being hurt by being broken up with but he didn’t have to be such an ass to her and immediately what fuck two women to show he didn’t love her anyway????)
I wish they had kept her more androgynous style, they soften her up which fine but she was so good at the power suits! I like that she had short hair and was still chic. ALSO I miss real teeth. They're all clearly like straight and real teeth, Carrie has more yellow ones and I assume it's due do smoking but man remember real teeth in film and TV
Anyway, ending with Miranda added:
Carrie tells Big fuck off, leaves to Paris. (I guess I should add, she can dump Aleks still and just get another column or start a blog [2004 remember] about “An American Girl living in Paris”) Charlotte visits with her baby and the others a year later. We get clarification that she adopted her baby (again I want her to name the baby girl) and that she has another adoption in the process! Miranda is visiting alone (Brady is with Magda or even Steve cause damn dude take care of your child). She’s happy and successfully opened her own firm? Idk how lawyer careers work but she deserves to be a boss ass bitch-lawyer while being a single mom. OR she and Dr. Robert are engaged!
Sam:
also done dirty. And I mean cause despite being liberal and very vocal about sex, I really found it hard to believe she didn’t get tested until someone reminded her? HUH? She’s 40 and loves to fuck and is well groomed cmon! You can just be like she gets anxiety every time she tests cause so much language around STIs is "if you have sex you will die"!
I feel like her getting cancer was a way to punish her? Idk it felt like the story was saying she needed to learn a lesson bc a lot of her sex story lines were a bit of a punishment not a celebration (she fucked a married rich man and gets shut out? if she's rich enough she'd still be allowed into places cmon), but she was so cool about it all including the cancer, that it didn’t work but I still got that feeling of punishing Sam and maybe it’s my knowledge of the rift between SJP and KC?
Anyway, small dick good man was a meh story, big dick meh man was a rehash, SHE’S BI but Maria was a caricature of SPICY ANGRY LOUD LATINA. So we don’t even mention that again. Richard was truly a dick she should have kept fucking him and milking him for money and been fine with him fucking others and she could fuck others. bc why did she take him back? Girl you knew you didn’t believe him! Either he’s good for sex and money or you go back to being your phenomenal self!
Smith was great, supportive and a bit of a boytoy tbh? I like that they fell in love fr and he supported her so much. Again why fuck richard for her to just cry about it? And not even control the situation.
Sam’s style is the best, power suits, bright colors, shows off her body, wears patterns and looks great!
ending would be 🤔
Carrie tells Big fuck off, leaves to Paris. Sam is visiting and has been traveling Europe and it’s all a travel expense cause she’s still Smith’s PR agent and he’s on a press tour! Cancer is gone! She’s living the life! She's free to do whatever the fuck she likes.
Yeah I liked SATC overall, again 7/10. Maybe I'll rewatch when I'm 40

Oz is dazed as Leo lures him into a magic circle drawn on the bridge that stops him from moving. Gilbert is able to pull him to safety out of the way of Jabberwock's attack, just as Pandora's guards come running to assist.
ah, well, Leo says, he was expecting them to show up eventually. As Jabberwock charges a blast of energy, its attack is suddenly interrupted as Gilbert summons Raven.
Tumblr media
I just love Oz's stupid face there lmao
Alice runs to try and join the fight alongside Oz and Seaweed Head Gil, only to be stopped by Echo for a fight that does not pass the Bechdel Test. As she readies herself, Alice orders Oz not to use the Black Rabbit's powers, no matter what.
Tumblr media
You're all flash and no bang, Vincent tells his master. He'll take things into his own hands instead.
The bridge they're fighting on suddenly crumbles, split in two by a powerful attack that separates Oz and Gil.
Gilbert calls out as he sees his master fall, but before he can figure a way across the gap, his attention is caught by a bullet whizzing past him.
Tumblr media
Oz calls out to Gil and Alice from the edge of the ruined bridge. But as he gets to his feet, he's smacked off them again by a swipe of Jabberwock's powerful wings.
As he hits the ground, his pocket watch conveniently falls from his pocket. It pops open, playing its familiar melody, a tune that brings back memories for all of them, Oz, Jack, Glen, and Leo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Leo, it's the song that came to him in a flash of inspiration, that he had given to Elliot as a present. That Elliot had taken credit for when Humpty Dumpty helped ease the despair of his writer's block.
Suddenly, Leo turns and dashes off, a move that seems to confuse both Oz and Jabberwock. As he chases after him again, Oz wonders what's going on. If Leo had wanted to kill him, or throw him into Abyss, that would have been the perfect opportunity...
But we cut to a flashback one hour earlier instead.
Sharon Rainsworth pouts angrily as she asks why Break had never told her about his promise to the Will of the Abyss, or his real objective, before.
Tumblr media
The connection between Glen and Leo, and between the Sewer Rat Vincent and the Headhunter, Pandora's actions... As Break lists all the pieces coming together, we get a brief flashback inside our flashback, revealing that Sharon has been watching Oz and Leo's conversation through her Chain.
Tumblr media
As they wander off to look for the Duchess Rainsworth, we get yet another flashback in our flashback. This chapter's just chock full of em.
Break recalls a closed-door meeting with Duke Barma, Duchess Rainsworth, Sharon, and the hero trio a few days before.
Tumblr media
Duke Barma doubles down, ordering them to give up on it. The Nightray house has been almost completely eliminated, and the key to their Abyss Gate was never found after the Duke's assassination. Pandora's offensive power is too slight to spread between two targets, it's better to concentrate their focus on the Stone right beneath their nose and try to make a preemptive strike.
That all makes sense, Break thinks as he and Sharon search for her grandmother.
So why does he keep hearing alarm bells ringing in his head.... ?

No Country for Young Humans - Chapter 8
Got this chapter out a lot sooner than planned. This chapter does NOT pass the Bechdel test I am SORRY. But on that note, from what you should expect of this story; a lot of MC and Star. This is definitely an idealised narrative that is moreso focused on the relationship between these two characters rather than the ongoing story of the Underground as a whole. Of course, elements of the Underground and the happenings outside of The Wild East will become prevalent, but MC and Star are the main focus, hence why there is so much focus placed upon MC and Star. I just wanted to clarify this!
Missed the previous chapters? Check out the Masterlist!
Words: 3397

Summary: Finally you've returned from Waterfall, and your feelings are starting to swell. Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of celebration, a more quiet figure plagues you with a question.
Chapter 8 - The Childhood Friend: BGM: Undertale Yellow OST: 069 - Getting The Thoughts Out
You hadn’t expected to be near tackled at your own arrival back home, but it was a welcome surprise.
“Ah, jeez guys!” You laughed out, the Feisty Four being quick to embrace you. It was nice to know you had been missed, even if you were gone for only a day.
“Good to see you’re alright, rookie.” Moray spoke out, being the first to detach from the group hug. Ace followed suit, readopting his stoic demeanour as he added,
“Not that we didn’t have any *faith* in you.” After some of your missions with him, you were surprised that he did. Ed eventually let go of you, picking up Mooch by the back of her collar as she tried fiddling around in your pockets.
“We were just worried is all.” Ed replied before giving Mooch a dirty look as he placed her down gently.
Home hadn’t changed since you’d left of course, still as vibrant and hot and dry as always. Despite the lustre and elegance that you had been met with at Waterfall, being home and safe felt all the more radiant. You felt a hand get gently placed on your shoulder, Star approaching from behind.
“No need to worry. They had the best Sheriff in town to keep them safe!” He beamed out. For all it was worth, he wasn’t lying. If it weren’t for his quick thinking, and knowledge of Waterfall, then you would probably have been captured, or killed-
“Yes of course.” You heard the calmer voice call out from behind the crowd of the Feisty Four. “Glad to see that you are both still in one piece.” Ceroba joined the small group with a calm expression. She looked the same as always, perfectly dressed and groomed. You watched as she turned to give North Star a quaint smile, yet she only nodded at you.
“I think this calls for a round of drinks, right boss?” Ed asked, tipping his eyebrow at Star who nodded in agreement.
“Sound’s good to me, Ed. Let’s celebrate another victory.”
“And the rookie will be paying for all of us!” Mooch spoke out as she held out your pouch of gold which she had keenly swindled from your pockets. That bastard! The cunning thing squirmed out of grasp before you could grab her.
“Hey! Give that back!” You chased after her as she ran into the bar, the others following close behind.
-
The saloon's chatter was a wall of sound hugging around every part of you, oppressive and overwhelming. Yet, its thick presence left no room for intrusion, left no room for your awkward sighs and light breaths to be heard as you remained slumped on the edge of an ongoing conversation. Chatter this wild allowed for some sort of anonymity that you were otherwise lacking.
The Feisty Five, plus Ceroba and yourself, had been chatting about the excursion for quite some time now, with North Star painting quite the elaborate and dramatic picture of your adventure;
“But then, the *leader* of the Royal Guard came runnin’ at us! She had this look in ‘er eye, I knew it was bad business then. But thankfully-” The flourish he added always had you delighting in much of his charm. Sewn within each word was this giddy tone in his voice, the bravado of the tapestry he weaved was magnetising to watch. Yet, having been there yourself to experience the real thing, his tale was a large stretch of the truth.
You had wanted to help recount, but instead found yourself sitting silent by the edges, simply watching as North Star worked at the theatrics, miming actions, putting on voices. You were too enthralled by the mere sight of him to even interject with your own remarks. This feeling- it was dense and tight and pulled at you every which way, yet you indulged in it all the same. You liked him, more than the average friend. But if you found your tongue caught every time you were with him, with *everyone*, how could you ever make your feelings known?
Not even a couple hours ago talking had felt so easy, the words slipping off your tongue like the rapids that rushed beside you as you spoke. You had pinned him down, punched him, laughed with him, yet now it was all too much? Others were watching, yes, but shouldn’t the company mask the need to indulge in your own fluster?
Ceroba was making a comment on the events of North Star’s retelling as you elbowed him lightly in the side, just enough to get his attention;
“I’m gonna get some air for a bit.” You whisper, before shifting off your seat to leave out of the Saloon’s back door. Hopefully he’d follow, and you could be alone again to be playful with him without the fear of being seen. Or even worse, understood.
You felt the Saloon door swing shut behind you, the air out here was, although still just as hot, far less stuffy than the hive that throbbed within the Saloon’s walls. Out the back there was a small, rickety patio made of wooden planks with a couple of stairs that led down to the sandy ground beneath. A faucet jutted out of the wall though it wasn’t functional and probably never had been. You went to sit on the stairs, feeling the wooden boards wheeze beneath the weight; weathered and old. Down the far side of the back of the bar, there were a couple barrels of what you assumed to be rum strewn about.
The outside air was fresher, less anonymous, yes, but it gave you the space to clear your head. The space to not let your emotions take you over.
Taking a deep breath in, you felt the warm air shift in your lungs. Exhaling, you dragged out all of the tension in your shoulders, your back. It could have just been aches from your prior adventure, or it could be something more-
A calm breeze washed by, sending a couple of tumbleweeds floating with it. Stumbling over one another in a chance to make haste to who knows where. Objects without purpose travelling onward. They were like you at one point in time. Making a journey to a place you would never see again. It was useless, really, when you thought about it. Even if you *wanted* to leave, you couldn’t. So maybe it was good that you liked Star, liked him this much to change the entire trajectory of your life to stay *here*. Your new home.
This was the best choice for you, right?
Suddenly, you heard the Saloon door squeak on its hinges as it was forced agape.
“Need some company?” You heard the mellow voice speak out.
“Sure, Ceroba.” You responded, too lost in your thoughts to turn your head to her.
She gladly took the reply, shifting down next to you on the wooden planks. The wind that rolled by shifted through her locks of hair. They looked like tendrils as they brushed through the wind. Even sitting she was elegance personified.
“I was hoping to hear *your* side of the story. I know Star’s dramatic tendencies all too well.” You heard the smirk in her voice, and turned to see it for yourself. A strange sight it was, but a welcome one. You had seldom seen Ceroba even frown, such levels of expression were rather abnormal for you to be privy to. You sighed out, thinking of where to start, “Long day?”
“Yes-” You nodded, leaning your chin on your hand as you started.
“We don’t have to talk about it then-” You felt her shift, but it was smooth, and lacked the jagged edges of awkwardness. Despite your *state*, she was still effortlessly comfortable in your presence.
A silence settled between you, one that was far more comfortable than that which you had shared with some of the others. All you needed was the sound of the wind and the muffled chatter to keep you company. Though, there was a part of you, the same nagging voice that felt oh-so oppressive earlier in the bar, that wanted to ask her about him. North Star had said they were best friends, since childhood no less. Had he spoken about you? Or were you nothing but a passing remark in their conversations?
“North Star took me to this hidden place when we were running from the Royal Guard. At least, I *think* it was the Royal Guard.”
“Oh so the bit about you and Star getting chased by Undyne was all made up?” You weren’t sure who that was, a Royal Guard evidently.
“I like to think of it as a bit of flourish rather than an outright lie.” You let out a small chuckle, an exhale that showed the playfulness of your tone while your face could still remain stagnant. “It was this small area, with a bench and an Echoflower. We had to tread on these weird flowers to get there. It was like nothing I had ever seen!”
“Oh, did you check under the bench?” The mentioning of this secret spot seemed to catch her attention, she had turned to you, looking at you more directly.
“Uh, no?”
“Oh.” She retreated a bit in her tone, “Maybe next time?” You saw her flash a smile. A rare smile. One’s that feel like secrets shared between first loves, only you were barely even friends.
“Maybe. Why should I be checking under there?”
“Oh, it’s just an inside joke- When I used to take Star there as a kid, sometimes there’d just be- oh, well I won’t spoil the surprise.” And just like that, the moment went sour. Those moments with Star had felt like they were *yours*. Yours to ponder over and to turn around in your head obsessively like you had done mere moments ago. But that wasn’t *your* place, this was North Star and Ceroba’s place, wasn’t it?
“Ah, yes, he told me you took him there.” You could feel your tone fall flat, losing its initial flighty underbelly, skinned of its lighthearted tone. “You’ve known each other for a long time, huh?” You asked, not really directing the question towards her. Rather it just reaffirmed the brewing feeling that tripped in your stomach. It wasn’t as painful as jealousy, no. This was the solemn poison of doubt.
“Yes. Pretty much since I was born. I guess as friends, I never really outgrew him.” Hm, that wording struck you as strange. The feeling in your stomach only got hungrier for info;
“As friends?” You asked, knowing the road this would lead down. You didn’t want to dislike her. You didn’t- Ceroba had kindly come out to check on you after you randomly departed from the group. How could you dislike someone like that? Yet, envy was a powerful thing that battled for control over your logic, appealing rather to the jury of the heart.
“Well, there was a point in time where-'' She stopped herself, almost as if she had been paused by some outside force. And then, just like that, they had pressed play, and she had snapped out of whatever stupor that overcame her. “You don’t really want to hear this, do you?” She asked, eyebrows downturned.
“Why do you say that?” Perhaps even with the coolness of the outside air, your emotions hadn’t simmered down, and your face had failed your intentions, ringing out doubt and envy on all of its features.
“You like him, don’t you?” Oh.
“I- what?” She met your reply with a knowing smile.
“You do!” She beamed with glee, pointing a light but accusatory finger your way.
You stammered an excuse, waving your hands to fan off her presumptions. But it was too late, this spark had been fanned into a wildfire, and there was no way that the stream of words that left your lips could ever put it out. As your attempts slowly faltered, you felt a dewy warmth emanate beneath your clothing, sticking to your skin as your face fell hot.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I won’t tell.” She placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, but the act was dampened by the fact that she still wore a smirk on her face. “I just wanted to confirm some suspicions. Glad to know I was right.” Her face shifted into a smile, and you calmed your panic.
“How could you tell?” You asked. She had read you so easily! Were you that open of a book that this near-stranger could tell your feelings. And who else knew?
“Ah, I always have fun watching the gang do their missions. I was quite keen to watch you when you first joined. I see the way you look at him.” She leant back on her hands, staring out to the vast horizon of the Dunes, “I thought at the very least, it was in admiration. But I started to suspect that it was something more after I heard all the names Star calls you.” She giggled, and you looked down at your lap where your hands sat clasped in dismay. “ “Darlin’” seemed to have you gasping for air a couple of times. It is quite amusing to watch.” You had assumed this whole time that the passionate inner feelings you harboured were nothing more than swells of the mind, yet instead they chose to manifest visually, giving you away.
“Well, I guess you’ve got me all figured out then?” You responded, sighing heavily as you tried to let go of the embarrassment.
“I wouldn’t say that. I just know that you like him, is all. I don’t know *why* you like him, though I have my suspicions. And other than that, I hardly know anything else about you. North Star has talked to me more about you than I have talked *with* you.” I suppose that was true. You had heard more about Ceroba than seen. You had heard more about her whole life than seen it; Her husband, some chatter here and there about a daughter. Where were they now?
“What kind of things is he saying about me?” You ask hesitantly. She giggled and you shot her an angered look.
“Ah, sorry, sorry. This just reminds me of when I was a kid, a little.” She chuckled.
“Why’s that?”
“Ah you know, asking your crush’s friends about what they think of you, gossip and all that. Talking behind others’ backs. It’s all a bit childish but it's something I enjoy for its nostalgia all the same.”
“You calling me childish?”
“Aren’t we all?” The response was befitting of everything you had encountered in the Wild East so far; this large game of pretend that strung out over weeks, the playful yet meaningless back and forths of the Feisty Five’s banter, your conversation right now with Ceroba. It was all quite childish. But maybe that’s what you needed right now.
“Anyway, to answer your question, he’s only said good things, so don’t get hung up on that.” That was a relief, after everything you had sacrificed to stay here in the Wild East, the last thing you needed was the driving force behind that decision to turn sour on you. “He sees a lot of potential in you. You seem quite eager to do well for him, and you’re brave enough to try all the crazy things that he asks of you. He admires that” This made you smile. Of course it did-
“Good to hear that my dedication is paying off.” In response to this, she shifted in her place, turning a little towards you.
“So, why do you like him?” She asked before slinking back in slight embarrassment, “Now I’m being childish.” You decide to feed into the gossip, the two of you giggling at how silly the whole conversation was.
“Hm, well, he is quite the character. There is a lot to go over really.” You held your chin in contemplation; “He is rather attractive, that’s for sure.”
“Shallow.” She mumbled out before chuckling.
“Okay, okay! There are more reasons than that!” You slap her playfully on the arm, “He’s really patient with everyone's abilities. I feel like he doesn’t expect too much of everyone. Even if I suck at something, I never feel shitty about it when I’m around him.”
“There was a time where he was pretty bad at all of this.” Ceroba responded, gesturing with her pawed hands, “When he was younger, and first got attached to human culture, he’d go out into his yard every day and practice lasso-ing his dad while he worked.” Now it truly felt like gossip. Now you truly felt like friends.
“Oh god- That sounds painful. But in the most endearing way possible-” Star sounded like quite the hoot, even as a kid. Maybe even before he got ensnared with all the Wild West stuff.
“What was North Star like as a kid?” You asked her, hoping that the mentioning of the past would be a welcome topic. Ceroba seemed to be one to indulge in nostalgia.
“Ah, very different from how he is now. He was just as well meaning, but not as bold or brash.” You listened intently, and Ceroba couldn’t help but laugh at your heightened interest, “Not sure how much I can tell you without Star trying to kill me. He tries his best to look cool for you.” The remark had your mind buzzing with glee. He tried to look cool for you- What a dork. What a loveable dork! “I can tell you that he was a lot quieter, more contemplative and a bit bored with life. I guess that’s why he latched onto human culture so much. It’s hard to live a satisfying life down here. Guess he needed some excitement.” Her gaze turned to look pointedly at you. There was no smirk on her face, just pure contemplation. “Maybe that’s one reason why he’s latched onto *you* so much.”
You hoped not, as it rang rather shallow in comparison to the depths of your own feelings for him. Seeing your slightly pained expression, Ceroba quickly added, “Not the only reason, of course. I have heard many reasons.” You tried to smile appreciatively at the response.
“Do you think I have a chance?” You mumbled, feeling your heart’s pace quicken, its vibration’s thrumming.
“A chance with him?” Her expression was like nothing you’ve ever seen. Trying to decipher its parts, it seemed like a mixture of reassurance and something more painful. Something you couldn’t read into any further, your shovel of inference hitting a rock. “Well, I’m almost certain you do.” She added, turning away, her expression unchanging.
“You think so?” Your tone is careful yet still injected with the characteristic flightiness of joy. This was everything you had wanted to hear, afterall!
“Y-yeah.” She sighed out, her gaze astray, “He really appreciates having you around. I don’t think he’ll ever willingly let you leave.” She chuckled, but it was faint and flat and her eyebrows downturned only helped the playful tone run off into the thick summer air.
“I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon, if I can help it.” You reassure her. You couldn’t leave Star, nor the Feisty Five. And now you had another person you couldn’t leave. Even if the moment had soured, Ceroba seemingly plagued by something, you still considered her a friend. Still gossiped with her as if you were still a child. As if you were still innocent. That was worth staying for, on top of everything.
“Yeah.” Was all she said, her shoulders sinking with her words. Another silence settled as you fumbled with your own hands. “Just- Just make sure not to get too attached.” She mumbled out before standing up, and heading back inside without a word.
And just like that, you were left alone once more. Only now, not even the air could carry with it the anonymity afforded to you prior.
Now, everyone could see you.
***
“Whatcha doin’ out here all by yerself, deputy?”
“Just got a bit heated in there. That’s all.”
“Ah well, hope you don’t mind my company. I’ve missed havin’ you in there with me.”
“I have hardly been out here long!”
“Ah well, guess I’m just gettin’ too attached to you is all.”
“Haha… Yeah. Me too.”

Does Murder Drones Pass the Reverse Bechdel Test?
pilot - yes, the WDF have a convo about playing cards ep 2 - yes, Thad and N have a short convo ep 3 - No ep 4 - yes, two named male campers have a convo around the fire ep 5 - No ep 6 - yes, N and Beau have a convo while being dismembered ep 7 - yes unless you consider Kahn and Thad's conversation about the end times to be about Cyn/Uzi in which then it fails So 2.5/7 which is somewhat bad but the Bechdel test is not really saying all shows should pass it but rather is a commentary on how many shows fails to meet the criteria. ~50% of films fail the Bechdel test while only ~5% fail the reverse Bechdel test, the discrepancy is what's important.
Why did I make this post? No real reason, just thought it was kinda neat.
