ANYWAY as usual with my ygo watching i was primarily watching the dub (absolutely thrilled to have a Completed Yugioh Dub to watch for the first time since DM, MAN.) but I did end up watching...over half of Zexal II’s sub; stuff just gets so absolutely insane with the Barian Emperors that I desperately wanted every possible inch of their lore so I ended up watching both (sometimes back and forth at the same type like an unhinged wild animal) for the full picture. I like Zexal’s dub a lot!! its comedic timing is ON POINT, EXTREMELY FUNNY DUB. and really like..all of the main dub VAs are so, SO good (as they usually are.) There are a lot of bizarre things they cut though, a lot of childhood flashbacks and little character moments and the like. It’s a shame! I can only imagine a lot of them were cut to leave more room for ad time which. ok enough on that. some breakdowns/specific points like I usually do with these roundups:

Stuff I Didn’t Like: always get this one outta the way first. There really wasnt a whole lot I straight up disliked with this one!! It’s extremely solid all around. It does, of course, have some...Choices, being made, like. Girag’s lips. and. Girag’s backstory. Love the guy but oh my god why did they do that to him 😭Yugioh Racially Questionable moments ride again!!! At this point it’s just par for the course, definitely not the first time a ygo has. Done stuff like that. Ah well. Worth mentioning though.

What’s really a shame is that Zexal has some of the COOLEST, MOST FUN GIRL CHARACTERS, and time and time again they just dont do anything with them!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S SO FRUSTRATING. i LOVE rio but the poor girl is fridged for literally 2/3s of the series!! She’s in the hospital like five times!!!! Rio and Anna and Tori and Dextra and Kari are all like, some of my favorite ygo gals YET but they have maybe 5 duels between them. Konami let your girls DUEL CHALLENGE. PLEASE.

hm what else. I guess also the final showdown with the series “Big Bad” was. uh. kind of let down lmao. But to be fair I was positively spoiled last series with the Z-one duel lol. Can’t win ‘em all. As cool as the concept of “the protag and rival team up to duel the Big Bad” is, and as cool as Don Thousands Entire toxic manipulative dynamic with the Barian Emperors is for like the Entire Rest of Zexal II is, they just....don’t. Do much with him for that last Donny T duel?? Would have loved more backstory elaboration or just like. Anything. It was over so soon and I was like “...that was it??” HDFHGSDFG thankfully the last two duels of zexal whip like hell so we bounce back!!

i also kind of wish don thousand kept his sick as hell demon armor form but c’est la vie i suppose. sad! well there’s other guys.

Favorite Season: I actually have no idea how Zexal is split up into seasons, so I guess Fav Arc would be a better term? Anyway I loved the World Duel Carnival Arc, I’m one of like 5 people who actually enjoy tournament arcs but i think theyre FUN and this one is a blast. There’s Arclight Family Agonies coming from every direction and there’s the INSANE DUEL ROLLER COASTER and Vetrix is bouncing around being a little freak, it’s GREAT

anyway and then Zexal II came in and grabbed me by the head and threw me into the drywall

LIKE. MY GOD. ZEXAL HAS THE FUCKING EMOTIONAL PACING OF MORAL OREL. YOU HIT Z2 AND SHIT STARTS GETTING REAL AND GOING HARD AS HELL AND IM OUT HERE GETTING MY BRAIN SCRAMBLED. I love like. All of the arcs of zexal II it’s hard to pick a favorite but I DO really like just that first third or so where the Barians are just starting to show up and the horrors haven’t quite begun and everything’s so silly and Ray Shadows is Very There. gives me gx season 1 vibes a little bit. it’s a delight.

Favorite Characters: oh right I should. talk about that. pained smile.

i joke about this a lot but usually every ygo series has like. A Character That’s My Actual Favorite, and A Character That Makes Me Absolutely Insane (syrus vs. zane, leo vs. aporia, etc.) but, uh. this time I GUESS THAT’S JUST. THE SAME CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SORRY. TO BE BASIC. BUT WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO ME. WHY DID THEY PUT A CHARACTER IN ZEXAL WHO ALREADY LOOKS LIKE MY ART STYLE. ALREADY LOOKS LIKE I DREW HIM. AND THEN MAKE HIM FUCKED UP AND SILLY AND A SAD LITTLE JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY NEFARIOUS!!!!!!!!! 2021 dana had no CLUE they were hiding this fucker in the back of one of the ygo spinoffs. never could have predicted it. vector’s genuinely one of the best ygo characters of all time to me. what if a yugioh character had the most absolutely bonkers expressions youve ever seen and he was constantly doing little bits and acting like a little funnyman and then the devil fucking Kills Him. he’s perfect. the madness has only just begun to infect me i fear.

ANYWAY other than The Carrot in Question, I fucking love like...all of Zexal’s cast; I think this is the first time for any ygo where a series just didnt really have any characters I straight up Did Not Like. it’s such a solid, colorful cast that just checks so many boxes for my fav kinds of characters. I didn’t think I was gonna like Yuma but I ended up LOVING HIM!!!! I LOVE SEEING A YGO PROTAG THATS LIKE..ACTUALLY BAD AT THE GAME, THAT GROWS BETTER AND STRONGER OVER TIME BUT STAYS SO SILLY. I love what Zexal does to “traditional” yugioh character archetypes--Shark and Kite are both such cool rival characters and the shit they do with Shark especially?!?! NEVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED THEM DOING THAT. WITH A YUGIOH RIVAL. KAIBA COULD NEVER.

Narrowing down a top five fav Zexal guys is so hard, they really came in swinging with Catostrophic Families AND insane alien guys, but after pondering I think I’d have to say rn it’s Vector, Shark, Nistro (my fuckin  MAN!!!!!!!), Trey, and Alito. Immediate runnerup also being Tori. I fucking love Tori, new favorite main ygo girl. She bore witness to All That Shit and never folded. SHe’s Yuma’s FRIEND his CONFIDANT his EMOTIONAL SUPPORT!!!!! Absolute boss. Yuma would be dead in a ditch somewhere by episode 20 without her around.

Favorite Duel: BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH ON THIS A LOT but I think my favorite duel was and still is the Trey vs. Yuma duel in zexal I, it’s just fantastic. The COLORS AND LIGHTING!!!!! The stakes!!! The SICK DUEL ARMOR!! Trey literally threatens a world-ending murder-suicide because he wants his family to be proud of him and well i’ll just explode into bits all up and down the road about it. Goes hard as hell. Trey and Yuma’s dynamic is one of my favs in Zexal but that’s it’s own post.

I also love all of Alito’s duels (especially the tag duel with Nistro, which is one of the most atrociously danabait duels ever (slash pos) and his last duel against yuma, which ALSO has some of the fucking coolest shots and lighting of any yugioh duel to me) and the last duel between Shark and Yuma. Shit rocks.

Zexal is also pretty unique to me in that it’s the first time i can really concretely say ive had favorite EPISODES as opposed to just favorite duels. There are so many episodes left and right that just make my fucking head explode. The BASEBALL DUEL FRIENDSHIP GAMES EPISODE. The EPISODE WHERE YUMA AND SHARK ARE IN THE HOSPITAL. The “VECTOR GETS STRAPPED INTO THE ALIEN GOD THRONE AND MR. HEARTLAND IS BEING INSANE AND THE ARCLIGHTS ARE IN A SUBMARINE AND ERAZOR IS GOING TO FUCKING KILL YUMA’S FRIENDS” episode. THE. UM. THE EPISODE WHERE THIS HAPPENS

^BROKE MY WHOLE DAMN BRAIN IN HALF. I AM STILL RECOVERING FROM THE DAMAGE zexal II comes in swinging with episodes that just knock your tits clean off and you LOVE to see it!!!!

Miscellaneous Other Zexal Gushing: IT’S JUST FUCKING GOOD!!!! THERE’S SO MUCH TO LOVE!!!!! I love the cast, I love Yuma and Astral’s dynamic and just how much love is there. I LOVE yuma’s friend group, they are SUCH perfect dweeby little middle schooler weird kids. I love the ways Zexal parallels Duel Monsters (and imo takes a lot of elements from DM and does them even better), I love Yuma’s grandma and Kari, ABSOLUTE REAL ONES!!! I fucking love Orbital 7. I love the Number cards and how theyre just completely thematically not related to each other at ALL (sometimes it’s a bug! sometimes it’s a guy! sometimes it’s an entire floating civilization!!!) I love the ABSOLUTELY BONKERS RELIGIOUS MOTIFS AND SYMBOLISM FLYING AROUND IN ANY AND ALL DIRECTIONS. THEY DID THAT FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! ASTRAL CHRIST ALLEGORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I just...adore how fundamentally Zexal is about kindness and hope and love, and also about how it’s so important to not lose yourself or your sense of fun as you grow up!! That theme absolutely EVISCERATED ME when gx came out swinging with it in its last season, and it’s GETTIN ME AGAIN HERE!!! IT’S ABOUT HAVING FUN!! IT’S ABOUT THE BONDS WE MAKE WITH OTHERS!!! IT’S ABOUT HOW CEASELESS KINDNESS CAN BE AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE THAT MAKES EVEN THE IMMOVEABLE MOVEABLE. yuma has SO much joy and love and forgiveness in his body and it makes me WAIL.

Duel Monsters really ends on this note of “goodbye” with Atem leaving, and it works well for that story’s themes of grief. Meanwhile I think it’s very special that while Zexal also ends on a goodbye with Astral leaving, it feels so much more like a “see you later.”  That hanging note of “we’ll meet again.” It’s so sweet. The themes of past and future at play really just make you root for these kids and hope they grow up into the best versions of themselves.

Also it’s so fucking funny that like All of the Cast That Died and Went to Hell Came Back Except Mr. Heartland Who Definitely Died For Real. gay WRONGS.

I have no idea where to even start. The moment my sister (@mrs-kaunisvesi) and I got there, it was pure fangirl chaos for me and her lmao. We were the first ones there and got to see the boys get off their bus.

When they weren't busy hauling their suitcases and what not into the venue, we stopped each of them when we could and took pics with them. The first one we stopped was David.

David was so sweet. We didn't wanna take up too much of his time because he seemed busy. After taking the picture, I asked for a hug and he smiled and said "sure" enthusiasticly, and gave me a quick hug. I'm pretty sure he giggled because I made a weird noise as I hugged him lmao. When I'm excited I make weird sounds, okay?? Lmao

After that, he went back on the bus. Some time later, he came off the bus, carrying more stuff. Whoever was their camera person that follows them around filming their vlogs was also there? The camera was on David. I have no idea what david was saying because I wasn't close enough to hear, but after talking, he pointed to me and my sister and then the camera panned towards us. Like the idiots we are, all we could do was stand there, wave and smile. So we might be on a vlog?? 😂

The second one we met was Pascal.

I was a little hesitant to go up to him because he was on his phone and I didn't know if he was doing something important. My sister called out to him and he immediately walked towards us. He smiled and said good morning. He didn't seem to be in a rush, and was very polite. He legit had a small conversation with us, asking why we were there so early and how he was on his way to have a nice walk. After the picture, I asked for a hug. Ngl, his hug had me like 🥴. He was taller than I expected, I felt like my facial expression, as I looked up at him, was like an excited child lol. And... He smelled nice. After the hug, he thanked us for being there and said it was nice to meet us. 😭

After a while, we met kevin. Kevin was very friendly and I could tell he was happy to meet us and take pics. His presence felt very welcoming and warm. Also, this man got me fucked up. Weak at the knees af. 🥵 I asked for a hug and he said "of course", he then proceeded to give me one of the greatest hugs of all time. This big ass man engulfed me in his arms. It was like someone put a blanket over me. 💀 When I hugged him, I remember feeling his strong shoulder blades and feeling a type of bliss I've never felt before. AND HE SMELLED SO GOOD 😭. His cologne actually clung onto my sweater for a while. Later, I jokingly told my sister that I'd never wash my sweater again. 😂

Next, we met Daniel K.

Meeting him went very quickly. I don't know if he was tired or just wanted to be alone while he smoked. Hesitantly, my sister asked if we could take pics, he said "yeah". He seemed to be soft spoken. Idk if shy is the right word to use to describe how he was but he was definitely mellow. I was verrrry shy to ask for a hug but I asked anyway, and he he agreed. This time around, I know for a fact that when I hugged him, I made a small squeaking sound of excitement and he giggled gently. I'm definitely over exaggerating here, but I felt like he giggled right next to my earhole because my spider senses started tingling. I blushed internally lol.

Last was Nico. (Please excuse my crazy ass face. Idk what happened to me. 😂)

I spotted Nico randomly speed walking out of a side entrance of the venue with some crew members. I panicked, slapped my sister's shoulder and pointed at him lmao. He's my sister's favorite and so she chased him down. She called out to him and he turned. She asked for pics and he very politely told us that he can but that we needed to be quick because he was busy. After we took pics he thanked us for coming and walked away quickly. He was very sweet. I wish we could've interacted more but it's all good because this mf made hella eye contact with me during the show lol. Little sis DEFINITELY wasn't jealous at all. 😅

Unfortunately, neither of us got to meet Daniel H. Earlier, when we got there, we were able to shout hi to him when he walked out of the bus. He said hi back and waved to us. Then he went into the venue and we didn't see him again until he was on stage. He's so cute irl with his lil glasses. ☺️

The actual show, was fucking amazing. We got VIP so we were right up against the barricade. There were bodies flying over my head but I didn't care because I was having so much fun singing my heart out and just vibing. It was so wild and hot and sweaty but I was having the time of my life.

I made a TON of eye contact with Daniel H. He winked at me a few times and gave me some cheeky looks. 🫠 Whenever he looked over at me, I was really feeling myself and unintentionally would stare into his eyes while singing the lyrics to whatever song that was playing. I say 'unintentionally' because we would randomly just lock eyes when it was least expected, and I'm NOT just gonna look away lmao.

Nico winked at me and we had small moments where it felt like we were singing to eachother.

I remember at some point when it was quiet and the guys were having one of their talking points, I screamed kevins name and waved, he smiled and waved back. 😭

Important piece of context for this next bit:

The night before, my sister made me make a sign for David. Originally, I didn't want to because I was shy and didn't wanna feel dumb holding it up. Also, I'd never made a sign for anything or anyone in my life. Eventually, I gave in and made a sign asking for a drumstick. (pic included further down)

During one of the first talking points, I screamed David's name. I waved, got his attention, and held up my sign. The moment he squinted, I shit myself because I knew he was trying to read my sign. He gave me a big smile and waved... I was sent to the after life. 😂

I was able to get David's attention multiple times because I have an obnoxiously enormous crush on him and I'm loud af. All I did was scream his name the whole time lmfao. And every single time, he'd either wave, or point at me and wink. 💀💀💀

At the very end of the show, the band was throwing guitar picks and setlists. David walked up to the front of the stage and threw drumsticks out to fans. I remember, he had 2 drumsticks left in his hand and when he also noticed that, he kind of looked at me and with his body language told me to wait one second. He threw one of the 2 drumsticks into the air, and then finally he was down to one. He then walked as close to the edge of the stage as possible, kissed his drumstick, leaned over, gave it to me, and bowed, like a fucking prince handing me a rose.

I honestly don't know how in the fuck I was able to function at all after that. I was the happiest person on the planet at that very moment. I'm tearing right now just thinking about it.

After the show was over, we decided to wait outside to see if we could finally meet Daniel H. Unfortunately, again, we weren't able to get a hold of him. As he was leaving the building, he had a ton of stuff on him and I didn't wanna make him put his stuff down for us so we just told him goodnight and he smiled at us before disappearing.

We ended up waiting for the rest of the guys too.

When I saw David leave the building, I froze up. My sister dragged me by the arm while calling his name and asked, "can my sister hug you?". (I heard someone behind me say "aww" and I felt like curling into a ball and rolling away.) David literally stopped walking, parked his suitcase with his stuff next to some crew members, and turned around. He looked at us and was like "Yeah, I saw you in the front row", and smilled gently. He turned to me and gave me a proper hug. I hugged that man so tight, I could smell his cologne. While hugging I told him I loved him and I was so deliriously flustered that I don't even remember if he said anything back. He might have thanked us for being there. He hugged my sister. Then went to talk to other fans that were there briefly.

We also saw Nico, Kevin, and Pascal, but they seemed too busy to stop plus they had all this luggage with them. We did all manage to tell eachother goodnight. ☺️

I been into nct since T7S/2016 and Ten was my original ‘bias’ but he disappeared for quite some time and I got into 127 and considered myself biasless…..those guys rly never did it for me. Johnny joined during Limitless and he was my bias for like 2 weeks chejxjjdjxjd, so I’ve always liked him but not enough to be like THATS MY BIAS! idr exactly why, but I’m an exo-l and when Johnny debuted, Sehun posted abt it on his IG and I was like omg they’re friends👁️👄👁️ and I got more into Johnny lore from there, but yk……Johnny in 2017……..what a god damn nerd cjejxjsjjd

2016/17 I was like welllll guess I dont NEED a bias! I love their music! and I didn’t listen to Dream(knew of them, and tried to) bc I was like yeahhhh this is not my style….

Jeno, I had seen him often around nct content here and there, like that 2018 live I was like ahhhhh he’s very cute but I’m not into Dream like that. then Black on Black came out and I again saw Jeno and GO came out…….and again I saw Jeno. I realllllllllly did not want to get into Dream or bias him, but you see……..GO IS A GREAT SONG….and then my friend was like “you should listen to Drippin’ by Dream since you like that song.” and I did…….and then I got into Dream, and out of all of them I really only found Jeno attractive.

even when I started writing for the other members I was like mehhhhh, I like Jeno… I think it wasn’t until Boom that I started side-eyeing the rest of them.

But I still need work in that department. My autism and adhd really makes proper communication such a massive challenge for me, and it's even harder when I have a tendency to read way too much into a message to the point that I end up believing the person is bored with me, doesn't wanna chat, is upset or mad and that I'm just a bother. The worst part about it is being consciously aware that this way of thinking is ridiculous and likely not true, yet being almost entirely powerless to not believe it with ever fiber of my being 🥴 but I do hope to improve my communication skills. especially when it comes to discussing like, super random shit like, ships? the dilemma of wanting ships and having 0 confidence to ever approach anybody for it lmaooo

is there a specific character archetype you enjoy writing the most? Soooo I had to google what "character archetype" even means, so bear with me here as I attempt to go by what google explained... Google used "hero" as an example, so uh, I'm going with the opposite of that. I like dark characters, I love morally grey characters who can tip the scale between being "good" and "bad. I love the type of character that the show tells you is supposed to be a villain, but you end up rooting for them instead of the "hero" of the show. And of course, a good back-story that explains why they are the way that they are, you know? They're not "bad" just because they woke up and chose evil. Although I ain't gonna lie, I do love my dark characters, so I'd enjoy that too! Which is kinda hilarious, because I as the mun, am the opposite of dark in real life. I require rainbows and unicorns every hour of the day or I'll cry thank you. But my characters have to be dark, k thanks. Remember, people, mun does not equal muse!

is there a specific character archetype you find difficult to write? Heroes, goody-two-shoes. A character that strictly follows all the rules and won't deviate, the strict "good guy." I just don't like characters like that, and oftentimes, the heroes in those superhero movies piss me off because listen up people, some of those super powered evil dudes ya'll be fightin' should be dead man because guess what happens when they ain't? They become the main supervillain for like 10 seasons of the damn show like COME ON man quit with the "the good guys can't kill" come on bro. The supervillain constantly escaping is the REASON your dang city is constantly in ruin everybody dyin' and shit. I mean, I can't be the only one who feels this way... Anyways. Yeah. Oof. Sorry.

how many ocs do you have? I have 17 original characters at the moment and I am kinda hoping to keep it there. Which is, basically everyone I have on this blog. If I were to make a new one, I think I'd have to retire some muses off this blog before I'd allow myself to write them. But I am happy with who I have. Everyone you see on this blog, are all the muses I have! Some are old muses that I have revamped... Nevaeh, Jamie & Aiden, Rex. Alpha is a muse I began making a few years ago and never finished until roughly, last year? Rex literally used to be a dinosaur dragon hybrid and a female.

what do you enjoy the most about creating ocs? The creativity. I love watching the supernatural creatures in tv shows and movies, and creating OCs gives me the opportunity to create a supernatural creature of my own creation to explore things that are not seen on tv! I love my spirit shapers, and I love the concepts I've put into Lakota and Lorelei, being able to create something that is entirely MY idea, my creation, that nobody else has ever come up with, really really means a lot to me. I just love having the freedom to come up with anything I want!

what do you find the most difficult about creating ocs? I like to have faceclaims with my muses, as I believe most people do. I find it difficult to find a FC that suits the muse. I don't pick FCs willy nilly, the face MUST match the vibe for the muse. They must be suitable. I need to be able to look at the face and be like, now THAT'S *insert name of muse.* Not just ANY face can portray my muse, and once I've chosen a FC, changing it — personally — would be like casting a brand new actor for the main character in your favorite tv show. Ya know what I mean?

Aside from that, their details. I put a lot of details into my OCs. I mean, I go a little overboard... My google slides are insane, but I just can't help it. I need the detail for myself if nothing else. I do my best to write out as much as I possibly can, and even then I could probably still improve BUT, compared to how I use to create OCs, I have gotten better at making characters. The hardest part is the back-story, coming up with something unique each time and avoiding any recycling of ideas from other muses.

And lastly... Portraying each muse in a way that they are their own person. Giving them their own unique personality, attitude, whatever, all that stuff that makes them who they are. I always worry that all my muses may sound the same or act the same.

I am. Obsessed with Tecchou. He's just 🥰 Again I love them a lil stupid, but like that paired with him being super observant and such high standards for himself I just 🦋🦋🦋 But okay like. He's gotta be so passionate in bed. He gets so into it, so focused, and he's able to note every way you react to give you the best time. And like I think he's fucked before but like I feel like he'd still be pretty inexperienced in like,,,, anything not straight vanilla? Just not something he considered. So yes you'd need to explain why you want him to tease you or be rough or tie him up, in detail. Maybe an example.

And Sigma~ I feel like he's inexperienced but not as easy to fluster as Kunikida. So like. Tecchou does give me “prefers vanilla stuff” vibes, but i think he’s willing to experiment. he’s got a lot of potential to grow to like degradation or even humiliation imo (both giving rather than receiving). and he’s probably the type to be rough without realizing, until you tell him that you like when he’s rough so maybe one day he tests how much you can actually endure 🤭

with Sigma, i think it’d be hard to fluster him bc he would realize that’s what you’re trying to do. he’d be more oblivious to those things, i think, but when they actually get through to him he gets really embarrassed. and yes, i see him being the romantic type. he just wants to please you, he isn’t too concerned about himself. he’d check in a whole lot to make sure you’re alright and would ask if it feels good etc etc. he’s just very sweet <33
