im in constant awe of cher (and by extension book). he gives away so much love to everyone around him, even when he's treated harshly. he's beyond empathetic and helpful and understanding even when he shouldn't have to be. i see his relationship with thoop and ik a lot of you will disagree but i melt. it's found family & sticking through thick and thin without expecting anything in return. and while it may seem like it stems from guilt on a surface level, it has to do with how just genuinely good cher is as a person. he's a person who's raised to believe in the power of community and "people improve when they get love and support, how can we hold it against them when they don't?" and treating people with kindness and not abandoning those eho need you. i know while it takes a while for people to come around cher, they usually do. im so glad he has his gaymer friends and everyone else because that boy deserves it all <3

i don't draw that much, but i was able to get some designs out. i can also talk about each of their personalities, and sure, you can ask niko's parents for something!

though i may not be able to promise like, drawings on everything.

walmart niko:

basically, i kinda wanted to self-project a bit more. walmart niko is a lot more mellowed out but still retains their moral compass, however they just act more lazily (like a cat).

they actually have their hair dyed, and their natural colour is this dark auburn, after their mom. they started dying their hair because they'd see their dad with it, and they wanted to act after him in a way.

they have glasses because they're sensitive to sight, and mainly they have problems with getting adjusted to colours. they get eye strained easily, and mainly because it's just hereditary and also. cat. i kinda wanted to also project how i'm sensitive to certain sensory stuff and wow, cats do have enhanced hearing and other senses!

anyways, they have glasses (also i kinda wanted walmart niko to be unique shhh). they are really crafty and take after both their mom and dad. dad introduced them to games and internet and stuff because he was super into it, and he knew that he couldn't spend time with niko that much, so he wanted to introduce them to something he always had a knack for.

they always hung out with their mom due to this, and they know how to do a bunch of things. how to sew a button on, how to tell if the bread has risen correctly (is that a thing idk i don't really make bread), etc. etc. plus is also great with children and stuff due to taking care of their neighbours.

niko's mom/hazel:

i'm still so indecisive on a name, but i can call her hazel as a placeholder for now.

okay, like i know some stuff with the technical canon nightmargin niko whatever lore but this is the WALMART AU.

tbh im making this up like fnaf lore. but basically like she met her husband because he was on a business trip to their village and all because he was doing something from another place and they got together (may explain why he has other connections outside of their village).

pretty big into agriculture but i feel like she may have wanted to be a rancher but she's like. southern mom. i'm kinda taking inspo off of caroline from sdv but anyways she just wants the best for her kid and all and shes a great mom i'd say. she supports her child's stuff and allows them to talk about it whenever and has drawings all up on their fridge. she's the type of mom to worry about picture day and spend a lot of money on those small photos and embarrass you about it whilst she gives one to every relative of yours

anyways now she works around and like does stuff like iron peoples' clothes, and also cleans and just does housework because of them moving. she preferred whenever she was able to work more with crops and also just in a community, but it's hard for her sometimes now to put emotion into her work.

she's the reason why niko knows a lot of well, basic stuff i guess but it's still very useful. also she's pretty crafty and intuitive! just like her kid. makes clothes and stuff.

niko's dad/ed??:

okay so like i was watching markiplier right (well, listening to his podcast or whatever) and that just happened i'm so sorry. he's like, really into technology and games and introduced niko to them, so they have a pretty good understanding of digital literacy even at a young age. he's a gaymer wow.

he does work a lot because he does care and hopes that, one day, he'll be able to not have to go away so far for conferences and meetings and will maybe be able to own a family-ran store that he'd see around their home village.

he's helped niko on really hard levels in the hit game super mayo bros and helped on difficult gyms in pokeymans. but has also helped with niko's problem-solving stuff due to this exposure to everything. also is somewhat the reason why they need glasses.

i will post cute art of niko's dad and mom together but yeah like they're still happy and all but it's just hard sometimes for 'em.

When I first watched it (which was a decade ago now that I think abt it..) my fave was probably Peso tbh, I found him a bit relateable and cool I guess and good at reassuring and helping sea creatures! He reminds me of Fluttershy from mlp:fim INFP(?J). Also definitely autistic imo

I think I feel like an affinity towards Shellington bc he seems like me interest wise and a bit personality wise bc I rlly like biology and wanted to be a marine biologist for a bit when I was younger and he seems to infodump a lot and I do that abt similar interests!(there are many benefits to being a marine biologist /ref) INTP and also autistic and adhd

I find Kwazii to be the most entertaining character. He's always up to things and it feels like a lot of the comedy in the show is centered around him. Probably the character that was meant to have the audience's attention more. It's also kind of amusing how he's usually like fearless but extremely scared of the cryptids he claims exist(like Vampire Squid but his own idea of it before he meets the vampire squid). I think he contrasts with Peso, who's usually anxious but is seen overcoming fear or not being afraid when a sea creature needs help ENTP (some would say S but the way he sees cryptozoology and pirate stuff seems more N to me) adhd and perhaps HPD and/or NPD

Tweak is one of my favorite characters too, she's cool and it was fun to see her explain things about the gups, octopod, and other tech stuff! ISTP, also autistic + adhd

I think Inkling's also pretty cool and he reminds me of Bedtime Bear from utm a bit? I also relate to him bc like I guess I like knowing information even if Im like the used to read a lot, now only really reads fanfiction type and I may seem like him personality wise to some people INTP or INTJ, autistic

I also think Dashi is cool! Her interest in photography is cool and I relate to that and also I think needle arts (forgot though if she does that in canon or its a hc someone had tbh) which I also do a bit!! It's also cool how she does things efficiently (not relateable to me but still cool), probably a gaymer, hard for me to type bc I think idk she seems like a Normal type and Ice type in pokemon type personality thing, she seems INFJ or ISTJ, maybe INTP

I used to ship Tweak x Dashi (though it doesn't make sense in canon to me, only as speculation now) and Kwazii x Peso (similar but they interact a lot in canon and seem like foils to each other), and sort of Kwazii x Paani, those aren't really at the forefront of my mind when I think about octonauts now but like I'm plato repulsed so can only really stand thinking of characters as being partners or like just knowing each other exists/working together in a positive or neutral way?

Though Kwazii x Peso x Shellington I hadn't thought of until I saw some posts about it but I guess it reminds me of some of my partners even if I didn't see Shellington as having as many interactions w the other two in canon, But also the way I see shipping changed after realising Im aro and maybe also just as I got older so maybe I just don't have as much interest in canon x canon shipping now as I did a few years ago

Not really a character but I think the octopod's really cool!!! I always loved the design of it and it looks rlly cozy!! The gups are also very cool and I like how they're inspired by sea creatures! I like to think that Tweak maybe consulted Shellington for some sea creature inspired aspects of some of her inventions! Also. Like Kwazii often ending up w damage on the Gup-B totally reminds me of Funshine and the scooters in utm(especially in that comic!)

Favorite sea creature in it is probably siphonophore (I learned a lot of marine bio facts from the show tbh!!) and favorite phenomenon underwater brinesicle thing and the undersea vents r also cool!!

I still need to finish Octonauts Above and Beyond, I started it last year and it was p cool! Some of the octoagents have names that are noun names in other languages that fit the work they do and I thought that was cool too!! (Paani - water in Hindi - he's a hydrologist) (Professor Natquik - Inuit language - it has various dialects and Im not sure which one(s) have this word?- word for drifting snow/ice )

It was 5:50 pm and you were at camp. It was the last week of camp infact. Can we pleaseeeee go swimming?” you said as you looked at him with puppy eyes. “yeah sure whatever.” the aussie said. you could tell he wasnt really paying attention..BUT he said yes so you ran to the pool house and got towels. you found your bathing suit and his. When you walked back in he wasnt on his bed and instead he was on the xbox. you frowned as you saw him comfortably sitting on his red and green neon gaming chair controller in hand playing doors on roblox. He was on door 32 in some long ass hallway. “babe-”

“SHUTUP!!” 

You flinched when he yelled because he was never mad. You didnt understand this. As you peeked at the screen you saw him running with intense music. since you thought this was stupid and he promised to go with you... you clicked the shining white xbox logo button. He dropped the controller and stared at you with dark angry pupils. what you never understood was the fact that it was only after some strange animal in the woods attacked him that he started being mean and playing roblox. You thought it was a coping mechanisim. Your thoughts were interupted when he grabbed your wrist harshly and screamed in your face. 

“FUCK YOU WHORE GET OUT NOW BEFORE I TURN INTO DOORS SCREECH!!!”

He yelled as he hit your arm. You cried and ran as fast as you could out of there. 

*20 mins later*

you were sitting in the halls when you felt a tap on your shoulder when you glanced over you saw your sad looking boyfriend. You frowned at the sight of him.

“I’m sorry. Im so sorry okay? I didnt mean to I dont know wha- please just come play doors with me.”

“then just watch.. i just want to be around you again.”

While thinking of your next move you saw how sad he was. so you nodded our head and he brought you to his room and sat you down on his bed as he skipped over to his gaming chair. you petted his cat “cupcake” as you stared at his window. His cat showed loads of affection towards you even more than she showed nick which always made you giggle. You stopped petting the cat when you saw nick die and go back to the lobby. he stood up and walked over to the corner of the room and stood over a litter box.

he pulled out his pp and started pissing!!!

 *30 minutes later* you were on your phone and nick was STILL on that game. you heard him start grunting you glanced over and assumed he was mad at the game. You kept watching youtube videos about tickle tipson. You pasued your video when you heard louder grunting. you watched him closely when all of the sudden the grunting.. stopped. thats when you saw something brown dripping down his leg and a stinky smell. “Nick... dude. did you just poop your pants.” 

“mhm didn’ wann’ get up.” he said casually. You screeched a loud screech and ran out and down the halls when you fell into dylan. “Y/n? Whats wrong!?” he said with a concerned tone. You went from scared to burting out into laughter “What?” dylan said while smiling “DUDE DYLAN. NICK SHIT HIS PANTS AND HE PISSED IN THE CATS LITTER BOX BECAUSE HE DINT WANT TO GET UP FROM ROBLOX DOORS!” YOu said dying from laughter.”WHAT SERIOUSLY!” dylan said.

You nodded and dylan ran to the room and started screaming at nick to wash his poopy butt. After 30 minutes of yelling he finally head to the shower. you took his clothes for him and started putting away old laundry in your room. A game that made you cry. unironically insomniac's marvel's spider-man, specifically the ending of doc ock and aunt may's death. i did not think they'll have the balls to pull this off, but they did, and it was a touching scene. and also back to doc ock - after he's defeated for the final time, he cries out for peter. how can i NOT cry. william salyers put his whole pussy into doc ock, and it's a genuinely moving moment.
