How do you decide when to use Spamtons little speech quirk and what to have him say? Your writing for him feels so natural!

Spamton’s speech pattern is surprisingly tricky! It has a lot of weird little things to it, haha. I’m glad you think I’m doing a good job though. :D Generally I try to keep in mind a few things for him...

Spamton misspells things a lot, but not always in the same way (with exceptions). He also likes substituting numbers for letters, usually in words that get caught in a spam filter to try to get around it but not always. ( [[Amazed at thi5 amazing transformation?]],  NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING AB04T! ,  SOMEONE LEFT [There] SOULS, [Lyeing Around......] ,  YOU FILLED YOUR [Inventorium] WITH [Half-Pr1ce Sallamy],  AND THE [Number on theB4ck]!,  [Unforgettable D3als] ,  [Pr3mIUm luxjerry w4tch] )

When Spamton takes over the narration or influences it, he still misspells things. (CONGRULATIONS YOU ARE THE 100th VISITOR!!! )

Spamton is bad at tenses and mixes them up a lot. This is one of the most endearing things to me for some reason, haha.  ( I'M SO [Proud] OF YOU, I COULD [Killed] YOU! ,  I HAVE [Becomed] NEO. ,  MY ESTEEM CUSTOMER, THAT GUY [Steal my look]!! OKAY, MAYBE HE [Steal]ed BACK WHAT I TOOK FROM HIM, WE WILL ALSO [Divorced] )

He messes up pluralization or grammar related to it at times. ( HOTSINGLE, 100 CUSTOMER, AN [Valuable Item])

He actually swears a fair amount but it’s usually censored. ( YOU'RE [$!$!] RIGHT! , DEALS SO GOOD I'LL [$!$$] MYSELF!,  [$!?!] THE PRESSES! )

His capitalization in his bracket words/phrases is inconsistent and he spells things wrong in them at times as well. He usually capitalizes the first word though. ( [[A LimiTed Time Only!]] , [[Designed BY The Classics]],  [[ Sucbscrube ]] ,  THEN [[WHY]] GO TO A DUMPSTER!!! , YOU'VE GOT THE [[LIGHT.]] , [ succumb to the worm ],  SO HAVE I GOT A DEAL THAT'S [sweet Sunday creme] TO ANY SELF RESPECTING [Ball Nut]! , [fluffey] ,  [Pracitce]).

His capitalization in general is kind of all over the place. ( LIGHT nER! HEY-HE Y HEY!!!,  THat'll be 1997 KROMER.,  ENL4RGE Yourself,  I USED TO be A BIG SHOT. ,  I WOn'T FORCE YOU. ,  It's still DARK... SO DARK! )

He gets the verb in sentences wrong at times or has too many/too few words in a phrase.  ( HEAR THOSE [Balloons]???,  [Cool down with a]!!!,  [Wake up and the smell the] MY DEAD CARCASS!!! ) His grammar also gets wonky, especially with the tricky homophones like your/you’re or their/there/they’re. ( YOUR A BIGSHOT!! ,  WELL LET THIS BE A [Email] ,  SHOW OFF YOU'RE [Big Shot] )

He sometimes doesn’t finish a sentence at all, or leaves a blank space. ( BUY [KeyGen] FROM ME AT [The Low Low Price Of] ,  MEANWHILE I CAN [sneak out the back] AND, [Hurry now]!!! [Blink] AND YOU'LL MISS      !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,  THAT'S WHY THEY'RE COMING TO [kill] ME RIGHT NOW. THEY'RE COMING TO ). Sometimes he just says one or two words or sentence fragments. (MONEY NO, KEYGEN) He likes repeating unfinished sentences as well, usually when he’s worked up about something. ( THE MEN INSIDE WOULD THE MEN INSIDE WOULD , I'LL GET SO. I'LL GET SO. )

He uses periods to emphasize certain parts of a sentence and sometimes he just leaves brackets or carets or other punctuation in his speech. ( YOU'RE  LIGHT neR< AREN'T YOU? , GO BACK. AND PUT. THE DISK. BACK. WHERE YOU GOT IT. ).

Sometimes he has spaces in the middle of words or in the wrong places ( DID YOU HAVE AN YMORE?,  I'M A SALESMAN   ,  ). Sometimes it’s just a mess in general ( DOESN;T IT?KID? ), and sometimes he likes to combine words ( [HonestMan] ,  [handsomeGuy] ).

My general approach to this is just to keep any typos I make while doing his dialogue lol.

He drops out of caps usually when he’s scared or thoughtful (not accounting for after his battle), and usually when he’s thinking about Mike.

A fair amount of his substitutions are vaguely threatening or allude to some kind of violence or suffering. He mentions death, dying, and screaming a lot, usually in unexpected contexts ( PRICES SO LOW, EVERYONE I KNOW IS [[Dead]]!!!,  VACATIONING IN [Burning acid] , NOW I'M THE [[It Burns! Ow! Stop! Help Me! It Burns!]] GUY! ).

Sometimes these threats are relevant warnings if you know what he’s up to ( TAKE THIS DEAL AND YOU WILL [[Die]]!! IT'S THAT GOOD!!!,  [Die Now] AND I'LL THROW IN [50] [Bullets] FOR FREE!,  THIS IS [One Purchase] YOU WILL [Regret] FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! ). There’s always a sort of “off” vibe to him that makes him feel a little dangerous.

As an aside, Spamton talks about people beating him up a lot.

He likes turning phrases about refunds into non-refunds, haha ( [No Money Back Guaranttee] ). He’ll sometimes just admit outright he’s trying to scam you ( HOW'S AN INNOCENT GUY LIKE ME SUPPOSED TO [Rip People Off] , [What's yours is mine] AND [What's yours is mine]. ).

He’s extremely excited and shouting almost all the time, so he very rarely has only one exclamation point about anything. Usually it’s three but it can go higher. Just go ham on the exclamation points lol.

[[Hyperlink blocked.]]  is a tricky one. He does use it a lot, but the context for it is hard to pin down. Usually it relates to things like souls, what it is that’s controlling him or what it wants, or how exactly he wants to escape it. Other times it’s sort of privileged or secret information that would be caught by a filter and blocked, or it’s some scammy thing or another that’d be blocked for user safety. Usually it’s something that someone wouldn’t want the player to know.

He does use sales pitch, adspeak, or internet slang substitutions a lot, ( [Friend Request Accepted] , [[Anything You See On TV!]],  [[Workout-Ready Body]],  [Luxurious Basement Apartment] , [[Pass My Savings Onto You!]] )  but not all the time! A lot of his substitutions are single words, usually on an odd tangent to the original word or just unusual in general ( [Deep Abyss] , YOUR [[Ant-sized]] [[Rapidly-shrinking]] LIFE!! , [Wacky Stacks] , [Little Nipper], LIKE MANY [buzzing] AND [burning] CREATORS,  GET OUT YOUR CYBER [skin wallets] ).

Sometimes they’re just a normal word in the sentence ( YOU GOT [Guts] KID!! , [Part] OF MY BEAUTIFUL [Heart], LOOK IN MY [Eyes] LOOK IN MY [Nose] LOOK IN MY [Mouth] ).

I tend to think about his substitutions a bit like the Orz, where a substituted word has alternate or deeper meaning than you’d think BECAUSE it was substituted. By [LIGHT], did Spamton literally mean light, or does light have another connotation to it he’s adding that’s not clear? I like thinking of the substitutions adding a potential multiple meaning layers to a word, haha. Maybe he can’t help it, or maybe that particular word is hinting at something more...

He can say full sentences without any substitutions in them, but they’re rare ( WHAT ARE THESE STRINGS!? ,  YOU'RE LEAVING!? WHAT ABOUT MY DISK!?!? , TOO MANY EXCESS VACATION DAYS?? TAKE A GOD DAMN VACATION STRAIGHT TO HELL, I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING I HAD! MY LIFE ADVICE! , BUT KRIS, IF YOU REFUSE. THAT'S YOUR CHOICE. I CAN'T FORCE YOU.). Interestingly, they often involve him saying he can’t force Kris to do something, something he says over and over and over. He seems very preoccupied with it.

✦ You work hard on your first paper based on your thesis. Dr. Egan gives you pointers here and there. Sometimes, you go to his office just to chat when you aren’t doing research. 

✦ He doesn’t go into detail about his personal life, but you do know he’s divorced and has a kid who’s a teenager. He talks about his son a lot, and it brings a smile to your face. Dr. Egan says he hopes his son is just as smart as you when he gets to college. 

✦ He mentions a trip to DC for the Master’s program. You jump at the idea, much to Dr. Evan’s delight. You ask if he’s going, and he says no. You wonder why but don’t bother to ask. There’s a lot that Dr. Egan doesn’t seem like he wishes to tell you. And you wonder if it’s simply because he’s your superior or if it’s something else. Either way, you’re curious. But you don’t want to cross a line. 

✦ You talk a lot about your grandfather to Professor Egan; he always listens patiently and even gives you a moment to gather yourself when you become emotional. You also talk about your father a good bit. Dr. Egan asks what he does, and you explain that he used to be a pilot in the last war. Dr. Egan makes a peculiar face but brushes it off quickly.

✦ He asks what squadron your father was in. “My father was in the Hundredth. He talks about his experience a lot.” Dr. Egan suddenly checks his watch and excuses himself, saying he had to be somewhere and that you were welcome to return to his office tomorrow.

✦ You leave confused about what caused the sudden change in Professor Egan's demeanor but shake it off. You do come again the following day and bring coffee, apologizing for anything you may have bothered him with.

✦ “It wasn’t anything you said, don’t worry,” Dr. Egan says, “I just lost track of time. I tend to do that with you a lot.” You try not to get flustered at his comment when he gives you a soft smile with it. 

✦ Whenever you aren’t researching or hanging with Dr. Egan, you work at the local World War II museum, creating exhibits and giving guests tours. It’s the opening of the new exhibit of the airmen of the war tonight, and you’re dressed your best. You’re happy to explain to guests the timeline of the war and show them photographs and artifacts. 

✦ A familiar figure catches your eye. You notice a tall, graying man with his hands shoved in his pockets, eyeing photos of the squadron your father was in that he donated to the exhibit. You approach the man, “Have any questions?” he turns around, and sure enough, it’s Dr. Egan.

✦ “Professor Egan! I didn’t expect you to be here!” you smile as he looks at you knowingly, with a bit of defeat. “I knew you’d be here, actually,” he says. You give him a confused look.

✦ Dr. Egan points at the group photo of the remaining airmen from the 100th who live to V Day to a specific man with a dashing grin. “See this guy here? Does he look familiar to you?” You squint, leaning close to the photograph you’ve seen many times. Then you realize that dashing smile only belongs to one person.

✦ You carefully look over to Dr. Egan, unsure of what to say. “Why didn’t you ever say anything?” you ask. “Didn’t want people, especially students, to see me differently.” “How would they see you in any way other than a hero?” you ask, putting a hand on his shoulder. “It’s not really the ideal profession,” Dr. Egan swallows, unable to look you in the eye. You sigh, “It was war, Professor. You did what needed to be done, unfortunately. And it’s over now.”

✦ “I just felt you needed to know about my past,” Dr. Egan admits, “Especially since we’ve grown so close professionally and your father was in the same squadron as me. It was only time before you found out.”

✦ “I’d love to know everything you’re willing to tell me. Especially since it’ll help with my research. Not to mention there’s probably stuff my father never mentioned,” you chuckle. There’s a mischievous glint in Dr. Egan’s eye at that statement. “Lunch tomorrow?”

Fic Planning - H50 Sentinel AU

Creating a post for bouncing H50 Sentinel AU fic ideas....

Thoughts I have around this AU, in no particular order... (also these are all just thoughts, I'm happy to hear what others think of them!)

Steve comes online in the Pilot, while on the phone to his Dad / Victor. He hears his Dad's heartbeat stop

In coming online like that, his senses straining to reach his dad, Steve is in real danger of zoning, considering the firefight going on around him, this would be a *bad idea*

The only reason Steve doesn't zone, is because he picks up the sound of his Guide's heartbeat - through the phone - which balances him

Because Steve doesn't zone, etc, no-one knows he's just come online and he doesn't tell anyone because he doesn't want anything to stop him from heading home to stop his dad's killer

So when the governor asks him to create the taskforce - she has no idea he's an online Sentinel (she wouldn't have wanted him in that position of power if she knew)

perhaps have it that Steve wasn't listed as a latent Sentinel / was listed as unlikely to ever come online

when Steve meets Danny, he immediately reocgnises his Guide. Danny has *no idea* Steve is his Sentinel

Danny has shielded himself massively due to all the pain involved with his divorce, etc and the feelings he's been getting from people around him?

Possibly he shielded even earlier, locked himself down so that he could do his job without his empathy getting in the way, etc.

Maybe Danny didn't want his guide gifts to be pushing him where to go/ what to do / wanted to decide himself

but also, I don't want it to be an angsty fic with terrible societal constructs around either Sentinels or Guides... I'm much happier with fluff

Steve's animal companion is a black jaguar

Danny's is a wolf

I'm slightly hesitant to make their companions the same as the original ones in the show, but also just really feel like they fit them very well. And it's actually rare for a sentinel AU to use both of them.

of course, Danny's could also be some other kind of big cat...

Option: Steve's dad actually survives - yes, Steve hears his heartbeat stop, but what he doesn't hear after he latches onto his guide's heartbeat, and the phone call ends is Danny resuscitating his dad

I'm in two minds about the above... unsure if I want Steve's dad alive or not

(also feel I should state for the record that I had that idea before watching the 100th episode, lol)

Steve, as a sentinel, would definitely be the Sentinel Prime or Hawaii, possibly even a larger area...

I'm currently doing a storm chaser Au for MOTA, I posted my three part today, so I just wanted to drop some lore slash headcanons

1. Bucky was adopted at age seven by Jack and Chick, he doesn't call them his dads. He calls them his weird uncles.

2. Buckys parents were killed by a tornado.

3. Bucky has been chasing tornados since he was a kid.

4. Bucky and Buck are married, but currently divorcing. But also at the same time not really.

5. Curt and Dickie have been married since the dinosaurs.

6. DeMarco is engaged to Brady, Meatball is their son.

7. Bubbles and Crosby are married duh.

8. Douglass and Hambone have been dating forever.

9. Helen and Nash are married.

10. Quinn is in a situationship with Bailey and Babyface, I can't even explain it.

11. Ken is married to Winks, they have a son named Sammy.

12. Sammy was carried by Helen, but she is not biologically his mother.

13. Meatball was found in what was left of a barn, he was just a puppy.

14. Helen is the only one with her life together, she's a sex therapist, which Nash finds hilarious.

12. Ken and Winks are farmhands slash mechanics, that live on Jack and Chicks farm.

13. Everyone lives in Jack and Chicks basement.

14. They live in Wakita Oklahoma.

15. Nobodys car dates past 1996 is a running joke between everyone when in reality its like 1990.

16. Hambone is the human barometer.

17. Croz is the navigator, he has a whole a conniption if Bubbles folds the maps.

18. DeMarco drives a retired school bus, for some reason well drunk DeMarco put where it use to say school, it says "Burrito Barn" now. He doesn't know either.

19. Bucky drives a blue 1983 GMC Vandura with a unicorn painted on both sides.

20. Ken painted the unicorns on Buckys van.

21. Curt and Dickie drive a black 1989 Chevrolet Suburban, it's nickname is "The Beast"

22. The Beast has been put back together four times now, the most severe incident was a cell tower piece through the windshield.

23. Bubbles and Croz drive a 1982 Ford F-150.

24. Douglass and Hambone drive a 1983 Ford LTD Country Squire, Hammy calls it "The Boat" or "The Wagon" depending on the day.

25. Douglass loves to drift his Squire, which is not good for it.

26. Rosies drives a 1985 Chevrolet Chevy Van, it has utility lights on it, Bucky calls it "The Boring Van"

27. Helen and Nash drive a 1975 Chevrolet K-10.

28. Bucky is the resident idiot of the group.

29. Rosies operates all the fancy equipment, and the cameras for obvious reasons.

30. They have a YouTube channel, which is called the Windy 100th. Rosie thought of it because he was a history major.

31. Their YouTube channel isn't that popular, but it's more about them having fun then anything.

32. Curt and Brady do audio, they have the best ears.

33. Smokey is their doctor, but he is a registered wackadoodle.

34. Smokey drives this hideous green 1990 Crown Victoria it belongs to Stormy, though he pretends not to own it for obvious reasons.

35. Instead of Brady yelling "Son of a bitch, that's France! He's yelled "Son Of Bitch, that's the tornado." He nearly died that day.

36. Brady just owns a baseball helmet for some reason.

37. Hambone is called Hambone because he literally got smacked by a flying pig.

38. Babyface is called Babyface, because for some reason he keeps getting smacked in the head by babydolls.

39. Stormy is an actual meteorologist, that just helps out the group. So he slightly has his life together.

40. Ken owns a flatbed tow truck for obvious reasons, but he normally drives a 1977 GMC C-15 which he shares with Winks.

41. Buck owns a 1984 Jeep Wagoneer.

42. All of them met in college well studying you guessed it weather.

43. Rosie knows Oklahoma by heart, he sings with Smokey.

44. DeMarco loves rock music, he blasts it on drives through speakers on his bus.

45. Douglass loves classical music.

46. All of them are amazing drivers which is surprising considering.

47. Chick is the one who cooks, Jack bakes and makes pretty much everything.

48. Jack makes wind chimes that he sells.

49. The only one to ever have seen an F5 was Bucky, its what killed his parents.

50. Bucky thinks he's the leader, but it's actually Rosie.

ive been on a light novel kick recently

lemme summarize some thoughts on them:

7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! 1-4: i thought it would be a standard "hypercompetent female lead in medieval europe" story and it was for the most part, in terms of convenient contrivances to make whatever whimsical actions that Rishe takes, but i appreciated the set dressing, at least. Rishe is funny and the repeated time loops makes for an entertaining premise.

The 100th Time's The Charm: She Was Executed 99 Times, So How Did She Unlock "Super Love" Mode?!: god this sucked. this honestly felt like reading a novel published by an 8 year old. so fuckin juvenile

A Lily Blooms in Another World: sometimes all you need is some simply girls who love each other.

The Apothecary Witch Turned Divorce Agent: interesting world with just enough worldbuilding, i liked that it didn't get explicitly romantic at the end, and I really enjoyed Carla's brazen attitude. Either she fit really well into the world around her, or the world was written to support her character, but either way, she felt like a complete product of her world and upbringing in a way that was really refreshing.

Did I Seriously Just Get Reincarnated as my Gag Character?! 1-2: there sure was a whole lot of talk about how much her character absolutely sucked despite being the most powerful being to the point of absurdity. i know the point is the contrast between game mechanics and expectation vs how she would be as a function of the world, but man that point was harped on a lot. as a protagonist, gotta say, trans as hell, that won a lot of points with me. "oh i'm suddenly my off-main RP character now? guess i'm a girl now, full-on. hell yeah" now that's the true trans rep we need

The Drab Princess, the Black Cat, and the Satisfying Break-up 1-2: it was alright, i feel like i would've been more invested if everyone wasn't secretly in love with her though i suppose it is an interesting subversion of the usual "plain boring princess" trope that everyone is actually super on-board for her to become queen. she's a deeply tragic heroine, honestly, and i don't think that's the intention at all.

Saint? No! I'm Just a Passing Beast Tamer 1: if this was a oneshot i'd be chill with it but the fact that it carries on somehow makes me feel so tired.

Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss But I'm Not the Demon Lord: i read the manga first and this was just more of the same. it's cute, i like Yumiella as a protagonist for the same reasons i like Carla from Apothecary Witch. i wish we had a bit more on Alicia's whole deal because she could've been interesting at the end there but instead she just made the whole thing boring as fuck. probably my favorite moments in the novel were Yumiella grinding the boss for drops and the Patrick confession scene for two different reasons

The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life 1-3: i had access to 6 volumes but i had to stop in the middle of the 3rd one. i was displeased but willing to continue in the first novel when one of Mariela's first actions as a protagonist is to engage with the slavery thing, but willing to put that aside, but then we had several monologues about how much slavery sucks alongside diatribes about how it's Jay's/Sieg's/etc's own fault that they got sold into debt slavery. the chapters in the 2nd and 3rd novels where Jay is there being absolutely fucking miserable and you're expected to nod whenever the book says "Jay didn’t reflect on his own part in this at all, spewing resentment instead." made me fucking incensed. my breaking point was in novel 3 where a minor protagonist just straight fucking rips one of his teeth out after strangling him and replaces it with a Pain Tooth of Make Your Slaves Obey More, and it's immediately followed with that above line. just. jesus fucking christ.

The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash 1-4: hey speaking of slavery, in this one they spent 2 novels telling the main character she should buy a slave, and then she gets there and is like "man this is kinda fucked actually" and doesn't, so good for her, but i read it immediately after Alchemist Who Survived so i was a little pissed at the fact that slavery was also a thing here because please that's not a system that is necessary to your world stop fucking doing it

ROLL OVER AND DIE: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword 1-4: anyway not to continue talking about slavery but if you're gonna have it, do it like this one did, and make your main protagonist claw her bloody way out of slavery with incredible brutality and swear that she'll kill more slave traders if they lay a hand on her girlfriend. that part was great. shame it gets mega fucking transphobic at the end though, that whole bit about Mother being explicitly textually transgender and then not using the correct pronouns for her, the genitals = sex = gender segments, the gross parts where they discuss how Mother "isn't even a woman, yeah that tripped me up too, how gross is this dude". fuck that. the fight scenes and fucked up body horror parts are great though. and it's got a manga by minakata sunao, which is a shame given [gestures at novel 4]

She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man 1-8: honestly i enjoyed it more than i was expecting. mira's cute, this is another one of those trans-as-hell novels where the protag is like "i guess im a girl now! this is great!" but i do find it incredibly unsettling how everyone is commenting on her looks and whatever if she's supposed to be, essentially, a 12 year old girl. deeply gross anime bullshit aside, it's fun. i thought i had more thoughts on this one so i was saving it for later in this list but honestly thats all i got. gross sexualization/infantilization of a young girl, but otherwise just a fun little fantasy jaunt

A Tale of the Secret Saint 1-4: fia's an idiot, i want more of her taking control in battle situations and less waffling about Great Saint abilities and fake-deep "political" """intrigue""". if you say any of these stupid-ass old men are her love interests i will throw a knife at you, and if the book goes in that direction even slightly i will Murder. canopus's devotion in the last novel was borderline for me dropping it. the manic obsession/devotion to fia is supposed to be humorous, i think, but it just comes off as deeply unsettling when the novel reminds you, as it often does, that fia ruud is a 15 year old (reincarnation of an incredibly sheltered woman who died at 18, so honestly even her mental age doesn't add much here). i know this is one of those chill life fantasy novels but i honestly want fia to serve actual consequences for the insane shit she does, not just passing-by mentions of having to do more laps or take training more seriously or being teased by her superiors or whatever. it's fun enough to keep reading though, i guess.

Tony Blair's tenure as prime minister will no doubt feature in the sixth season of The Crown. Blair played a pivotal role in steering the royal family to steadier waters when the royal establishment was under question following the tragic death of Princess Diana. In an interview with Today, Blair reminisced that the queen "understood, because always her duty came first, that she had to respond to this extraordinary outpouring of grief about Princess Diana."

Peter Morgan depicted these events previously in his movie The Queen, so if he tackles the subject again, he'd likely show it from different narrative angles or use it to color his depiction of the royal family in new ways. I mean, I don't think she would consider her parents as nearly divorced when she finds out about who they are, so it might take her a while to understand and accept the early s5 situation, which perhaps is different from her longing for a warm family.

By the way, speaking of Polivia kids, I rewatch The Day We Died for maybe the 100th time and think of your fic. I'm quite curious about how you think of the Polivia conversation about the drawing in the In-Reverse universe. It feels a little inconsistent that I don't think Peter will start a conversation about kids easily considering what happened years before, but it also feels totally in-character to me that these two pretend everything is all right and only gets their true feelings out at midnight.

Your question about Etta reminded that I had started a fic waaaaay back then, probably around the time 5x01/5x02 aired in 2012, which was mostly about the complicated relationship between Olivia and Etta as adults, but I also remembered it touched upon Olivia discussing her 'marital' issues with her daughter, and how it all came to be. That's something else I like to think they might have touched upon and addressed if we'd had a full, 22 episodes long season 5, since I don't think they would have killed Etta until at least the halfway point. Etta had to have noticed it, if only for the fact that Peter wore his wedding band around his neck, and Olivia didn't wear hers anymore (I think?? It's been so many years since I watched season 5 💀). That was probably very strange for her, I imagine she spent many years "daydreaming" about her parents, so the harsh reality might have been difficult to accept. So much unexplored drama!

And it's so 'funny' that you would bring up that conversation about the drawing in 3x22 in regards to In Reverse because that scene is 100% responsible for my brain barfing out the entire premise of that story within 24 hours of that episode airing, because I thought "maybe them not having kids goes deeper than that", and I always thought the way Anna delivered her lines there was really heavy, so it tickled the most angsty side of my muse. I'd gone to another fringie's house to watch the finale, who lived 3 hours away, and by the time I'd driven back home the next day, most of the fic was in my head 😅

The thing about writing that story in a 'reversed' format is that I didn't know yet how things had actually played out in the past, not exactly, because I obviously hadn't written any of it, only plotted it. But trying to make that conversation make sense in that story canon is the reason why I wrote Peter being so reluctant to ever acknowledge the child they lost, to the point of him pretending she never existed at all--which I felt was fitting to his character, given all of his childhood traumas.

"oh please, call me amos y/n dear. and it's no worry, your cedric over here refused to come unless you were," amos signalled to the brunette holding my hand.

"alright father no need to embarrass me in front of my girlfriend," cedric rolled his eyes burying his face into his hands.

"mr weasley!" amos shook arthur's hand.

"hello y/n!" fred and george ran up to you simultaneously, picking you up as they hugged you.

"well hello twins," you smiled when they finally put you down.

"hey gin, ron, hermione, and little harry potter," you ruffled the boy's hair. he looked away shyly, a light tint growing on his cheeks.

"mr weasley," you shook the father's hands, "good to see you again y/n."

"i see you two know each other?" amos raised his eyebrows.

"y/n came over to the burrow for the summer of her and the twin's third year," arthur explained.

"how lovely, this is my son cedric,"

"of course. the children have told me about him, a brilliant wizard this one," arthur pat cedric's shoulder.

"we best be off then! everyone grab hold of the boot," amos stuck out the boot.

"brilliant wizard my arse, considering all the snogging you do during classes," you whispered so only cedric could hear.

"oh sod off, don't act like you aren't part of it either," cedric smirked.

you placed one hand on the boot, and cedric put his over yours.

you soon found your body twisting and turning, doing flips, then you landed perfectly on your feet just outside the quidditch stadium.

cedric on the other hand, was laid flat on his back the ground groaning.

"oh cedric, i know you love me very much but you don't have to kiss the ground i walk on," you placed a hand over my heart dramatically.

"help me up," he huffed.

"fine," you stuck your hand out for him.

cedric grabbed it and pulled you down onto the ground with him under you.

he led out a mischievous grin as you landed on his chest.

"godrics you're annoying."

"shut up," cedric teased.

"make me," you grinned.

cedric pushed you closer to him by your neck and attached his lips to yours.

"ahem," mr diggory cleared his throat awkwardly and you quickly pulled away.

"oh come on y/n, you're going to miss the bloody game with all that snogging," fred pulled you away from cedric, helping you back on your feet.

fred and george swung their arms over your shoulders, making kissing noises as the three of you followed arthur into the stadium.

"you love her don't you?" amos asked his son as they walked side by side.

"i think i do," cedric said rather confidently.

"i see the way you look at her, it's the same way i look at your mum," amos face fell at the thought of his wife.

"oh come on father, it wasn't your fault," cedric tried to cheer his father up.

"blimey dad! how far up are we?" ron exclaimed as all of you climbed up what felt like your 100th flight of steps.

"well put it this way, if it rains, you'll be the first to know," a posh voice spoke from below you.

"father and i are in the minister's box, by personal invitation of cornelius fudge!" draco boasted.

lucius saw you standing in the group, "y/n?"

"father. draco." you greeted your father and brother.

when your father and mother got a divorce, you chose to live with narcissa while draco chose to live with lucius.

your mother and you lived in a large cottage just off of ottery st catchpole. that's actually how you met cedric, you would often read by the lake and he did too. you noticed he seemed rather familiar and struck a conversation with him, realising you both went to hogwarts.

"you're welcome to join us if you'd like y/n," your father offered.

"no thank you, i'd rather stay with them. they feel more like family to me than you ever will," you spat.

lucius glared at you and walked away. draco made eye contact with you, and you saw him crack a small smile.

no matter how much he reminded you of your father, you still loved draco endlessly. he was your baby brother and you often owled him in secret.

"hey you alright?" cedric placed a comforting hand around your waist.

"yea i'm alright," you softened into his embrace.

you made your way to your seats and gripping onto the railing, looking over it.

soon the bulgarian team's mascots walked out onto the field.

ron, harry and the twins were basically shooting heart eyes at the veelas. they were almost falling off the railings, hermione and ginny having to hold them back before they actually did.

cedric however, was unaffected by them. instead, his eyes stayed glued to you, admiring each and every one of your features.

"hey lover boy, stop staring." you teased.

"i can't help it love, you're beautiful," cedric rested his face on his palm, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

"more than those veelas?"

"definitely more than those veelas," cedric placed a soft kiss on your forehead.

the two of you enjoyed the rest of the match, not knowing that the worst was just about to come.

Rewatching the Rufus/Lily opera scene and the Dan/Blair sleepover scene, I actually feel like that was a purposeful callback??? Dan and Blair were about to make their ~debut~ at the opera JUST like Rufus and Lily did in that episode, but instead they ended up doing their own thing that was as much Dan as it was Blair. It actually felt like they had learned from Rufus and Lily’s mistakes in that episode, and were being set up to succeed where Rufus and Lily were at that moment failing. It’s honestly so weird how hard the writing swerves in 5x22, because in 5x20 it genuinely felt like they were being set up as the endgame couple the audience was meant to root for!

I think they were gonna make their debut at the premiere of a Broadway show (End of the Rainbow, would later go on to become the movie Judy). So I don’t know if that specifically was a reference to Rufly, or just a piece of corporate synergy or doing a favor to a Broadway producer friend or something to get the musical mentioned on GG.

But yes! That storyline was clearly a response to Rufus and Lily and their failing marriage. And while, as a Dair shipper we could clearly see that Dan and Blair worked out their problems and did create their world at the end there, I don’t think the writers were ever intending them to be endgame sadly. Like yes, the way they wrote them, they could’ve been an endgame pairing, but their eyes were closed to that. And they still kept throwing Chuck in there (thinking of the moment in 519 when Blair is like “I feel like singing those papers means I’m closing the door on something” and then Chuck appears in the elevator - it’s stupid, and makes no sense, cause Blair could’ve been with Chuck, could be with Chuck right at that moment, and had rejected him for Dan and yet…I think that was the writers way of still being all “she secretly still loves Chucky!!!!” 🙃 GG has bad writing guys, did you know that?)

But anyway, my point to that was, even though Dair worked out their problems, I still think the writers paralleling them to Rufly who were on the verge of divorce was uh…intentional and very much a part of the whole gross “people from different worlds can’t make it work unless one of them drastically changes themself to do it” narrative aka the whole “Dan and Serena can make it work now that he’s Gossip Girl and corrupted himself” narrative. The writers were simply both too committed to their 🪑 and Serena endgames, as well as their extremely classist take on the world of rich people good poor people bad unless poor people make themselves like the rich people by letting power corrupt them 🙃 (oh look…gonna link that video essay again)

(Also sidenote: I watched a featurette thing they made alongside the airing of the 100th episode, and they only talked about three couples: 🪑, derena and Rufly which was very interesting to me. And goes back to Ivy’s tags on my post this morning about how Rufly was such an endgame pairing????? And it’s so wrong that they’re not. And I don’t really understand at what point in the writers’ room they decided that derena and Rufly both couldn’t be endgame since it felt like that was the direction they were going for a long time. And also again, I think part of the reason the writers broke them up is because they stopped believing in the concept of “our world” and only believed in adapting to join someone else’s)

But also it’s basically been confirmed at this point, that Sara Goodman replaced Safran BEFORE the end of season 5 and clearly rewrote things. I don’t think safran would’ve made dair endgame but I do think he would’ve broken them up in a way that wasn’t just pure and total 🪑 fanfiction like 5x24 was.

Jakotsu sighed as he looked at the person lying next to him.

The sandy-haired man—Houjou, was it? He couldn't remember for sure—had been half drunk when Jakotsu had tried to clock out for his shift at the hotel. The banquet hall wasn't even his usual assignment, but the boss had asked him to start on the carpets in order to keep the sake from staining.

And there'd been a lot. 

He'd thought the guy had been celebrating an engagement, but the cheering and 'congratulations' seemed to be more tongue-in-cheek, and Jakotsu had soon realized it was a divorce party.

The host had been cute, catching his eye more than once, but it was the way he'd hung off Jakotsu's shoulders at the end of the night that had him pausing. The man had practically dragged him up to his hotel room.

No one else seemed inclined to help their host, having had their fill of free booze and buffet, so it had been Jakotsu, a complete stranger, who'd half carried him down the hall and into his room. The same stranger who had tumbled into bed with him after the man's arms had locked around his neck, begging him to stay.

Sighing, and resigning himself to another awkward morning, Jakotsu poked the man in the forehead. "Time to face the music, sleepyhead."

The man groaned, rubbing his face as he arched off the bed. Jakotsu enjoyed the view, the blankets falling away from the man's body, showing off his sculpted chest, then reminded himself that overextending his stay would just make things worse.

Why did he always fall for the straight ones?

He swung his legs over the edge of the bed, running a hand through his hair. "I won't hold it against you if you deny everything, just don't start throwing punches when you—" Black eyes widened when the man's arms wrapped around his waist.

"Do you have to leave?" His sleepy voice rumbled against his back before he placed a kiss between Jakotsu's shoulder blades.

"Don't you want me to?" Jakotsu asked incredulously. All the others had, swearing up and down that it had been a mistake and they weren't actually into men, though their actions throughout the night always proved different.

And this one has been exceptionally passionate.

Jakotsu had thought it a shame that he'd wake up to a sea of regret, especially when the newly divorcee had curled against him in post-coital bliss.

His arms tightened around his waist, urging him back onto the bed. "Not if you don't want to. But I'd love to have breakfast with you. And know your real name."

Jakotsu raised an eyebrow, looking at him over his shoulder. "I told you my real name."

"That was the truth?" He pulled back, sandy hair sticking out at all ends, a flush on his cheeks. "Sorry, it sounded so exotic that I thought you'd made it up."

"Better than Houjou."

His flush deepened, and he rubbed the back of his head. "It's a family name."

"So I gathered." Jakotsu turned around, uncaring of his nudity, though Houjou's gaze travelled down to his hips, blushing even harder when he was caught staring. "I take it you're not going to kick me out? Claiming the entire night was a mistake?"

Houjou's head cocked to the side, confusion youthening his features, and Jakotsu began to wonder just how innocent the man was. "Why would I do that? I was the one who invited you here, wasn't I?"

"Didn't stop it from happening before," Jakotsu mumbled, then flashed the man a seductive grin, it only widening when the man licked his lips. "Do you actually want breakfast?"

Houjou shook his head, his hands already sliding up Jakotsu's chest. He smirked, throwing the blanket completely off the bed before pouncing.

RIP ARLENE DAHL

1925-2021

Arlene Dahl was born on August 11, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Like Lucille Ball, she was a red-haired actress with an association to MGM who achieved notability during the 1950s.

She was mentioned as one of Ricky’s possible “Don Juan” co-stars in “Ricky’s Screen Test”  (ILL S4;E7 ~ November 15, 1954).

Although TV audiences didn’t know it, an article about Dahl and her new husband, Lex Barker, was featured inside the actual Look magazine seen on screen in  “Men Are Messy” (ILL S1;E8) aired on December 3, 1951. 

A story about Dahl and her second husband, Fernando Lamas, was part of this January 1954 issue of TV and Movie Screen with Lucy on the cover. 

Lamas guest-starred in “Lucy Goes to Sun Valley”(LDCH S1;E5) aired on April 14, 1958. Two years later, in 1960, like Ball herself, Dahl was divorced from her Latin husband. They had one child together, Lorenzo. Dahl has two other children: a daughter Christina Carole Holmes by third husband Christian R. Holmes, and a second son, Rounsevelle Andreas Schaum, by her fifth husband, Rounsevelle W. "Skip" Schaum. She has six grandchildren (including AJ Lamas and Shayne Lamas) and two great-grandchildren.

Desi dines with Dahl and Lamas. 

Lucy attended the launch of Dahl’s book “Always Ask a Man” in 1965. 

She joined Lucille Ball to be part of “Bob Hope’s Leading Ladies” a  “Bob Hope Comedy Special” on September 28, 1966, although the two did not share any scenes together. 

In 1987, Lucille and Arlene both were part of “Happy 100th Birthday Hollywood”, a TV special that aired on May 18, 1987.

—Started on the prompts! Ooof angst is v good for the soul. I was planning...to finish them today but then I got swept by ORV and uh. I don’t I will for a few days hdbdjfd.

—And oh yeahhh. Did the tiniest, tiniest bit of work on the Storm wip. I really want to work on it but completely blank on what’s going on??? I feel like it might need to work on writing stuff before it and shift the writing a bit ‘coz it’s not working the way it is now

Lost Prince and trapped Princess - Senku x Ruri

Today I would like to talk about a very special relationship which includes Senku and Ruri. Can we for a tiny bit of time forget about Senku x Gen, Senku x Kohaku and Chrome x Ruri? I will go back to that but can we forget about surroundings and focus on moments with Ruri and Senku? I think I found few interesting things about their relationship.

First of all - Ruri is REALLY romantic lady and she is only person who can points out with 100% accuracy ALL moments when Senku was being soft and nice to other people. Of course she isn’t only person who can notice that Senku is actually nice but many times people can mistake him being nice for having nasty hidden motive behind it.

First time Ruri heard about Senku was in 100th Tale. She thought it was very powerful and very kind story. That pretty much tells all about Senku because he is incredibly skilled while also very kind. Maybe not everyone noticed but Ruri was blushing while listening to this Tale. I’m willing to bet it is her favorite Tale. The fact that it was secret Tale only for priestess made it more special for her. Ruri also knew Senku isn’t fictional character but real person. He was presented in Tale like Prince which granted wishes and will come back in the future to save people. It was so many years ago and I don’t know if she believed Senku will come back during her lifetime but she probably believed he will come back someday. We all remember having crushes in princes and other fictional characters. (haha and it continues for me) What if Ruri actually had that type of crush in Senku? Girls really wish to meet their princes in real life. We know that Chrome in some ways is similar to Senku. What if one of reasons Ruri fall for Chrome was him fitting her image of Senku?

But going back to Ruri and Senku relationship after they met. Let me show you few moments when Ruri knew Senku is being soft or there is potential that Senku might get soft and Ruri knew how to organized space for that.

Ruri shared 100th story with most of the people after Senku showed up but she didn’t share all of it. She took Senku away from everyone knowing rest of the story is really personal. She thought only Senku should hear this private part. Ruri already knew Senku wouldn’t feel comfortable hearing this while standing in big group.

Ruri is really good in reading situation. Even if Senku created little lie she was able to read that he actually needed some alone time. She respected that and went back to the village. Ruri probably just felt in how much pain Senku is. After turning back there are already tears gathering in her eyes. Ruri is really empathic. This night both of them felt really vulnerable. 

Cotton Candy given to Homura was situation which not everyone was able to read Senku’s true reason. Even Gen who is mentalist sadly failed in noticing Senku being soft. Almost all the people took Senku’s joke as truth beside one person - Ruri.

Ruri saw right thorugh Senku being soft and just wanting to be nice to Homura because she was ordered to hang out in the forest alone so he wanted to give her reason to feel better. Ruri was also watching the moon probably remembering 100th Tale.

Ruri also gathered people to help with building observatory for Senku. He pretty much saved her life so of course she would be onboard in any plan about doing something nice for Senku.

Ruri wasn’t excited about heaing voices of founders of the village. She was more moved by idea of Senku getting chance to talk to his father even if he is no longer part of this world. She felt really happy for Senku.

To sum some things up about Ruri and Senku relationship I would like to share some ideas that could happen if some events were changed. We know Senku is too much of a Best Bro to let Chrome watch him being husband of love of his life so he divorced Ruri really fast. But I actually would like idea of Senku being Ruri’s husband for a bit longer time. Maybe to create some drama since it wouldn’t be nice for Chrome and Kohaku watch them be together while them having crushes on them. There could have been some awkward moments and possible wholesome moments between Senku and Ruri. They could have take divorce after long private talk about their true feelings. 

I believe Senku would take role of husband in serious and responsible way. He would be able to guarantee comfortable life for Ruri but the problem is that he would be honest about being unable to love her back in romantic way. He would act more like husband friend to her - hugs and sleeping in one bed would be fine but no kisses and sexual contact. He wouldn’t force her on him or himself on her. They would keep some distance.

But what if Ruri never fall for Chrome and kept her crush on Senku from 100th Tale? Would she fall for Senku? That’s very possible. She understands how nice person Senku is. Senku winning Ground Bout in that situation and saving her life? Ohh I think she would fall hard for Senku and she would be actually really happy to marry him. Of course Senku would still be this husband friend type even if Chrome wasn’t in love with Ruri. He still is interested in Science more and Ruri would respect that. I could see her spending time with Senku to bond with him over Science and 100 Tales and what they knew about the world. Maybe after some time Senku would actually develop feelings for her and they would become loving husband and wife. Senku isn’t mushy type but he was his ways of showing that he cares about other person and Ruri being really romantic lady would cherish every moment of that.

Of course my favorite Senku ship with girl is Senku x Kohaku because they spend more time together and they have really good dynamic and it’s possible that this ship will be canon by the end of story but if I could pick second best choice with saying big sorry to Chrome I would pick Senku x Ruri ship because of how special their relationship is and potential for this ship. Senku and Ruri would be story about lost Prince arriving to kingdom to save Princess stuck in one place because of bad spell slowly killing Princess.

A Deal With The Devil

New York. The city where everyone dream to visit and admire its beauty. The busy streets overpower the voices in your head, the thousands of people walking by dont care who you are and the skyscrapers were higher than my hopes.

It was the perfect city for me. My parents got divorced five months ago and i needed a fresh start, a place to be who i always wanted to be. But how responsible can a 20 year's old girl can be?

I was naive enough to leave as soon as i could. My mother's words echoed through my mind "This city hides its danger behind its beauty" but back then i just laughed it off thinking it was her way to keep me close to her.

I am not from a big city. We lived in a barn a couple of miles away from humanity. I wasn't experienced in working but i helped my father with his finances enough to know what i love to do.

When i laid my foot in New York my breath was taken away from me. The skyscrapers covered the sun, the one higher than the other. People didn't give second glance at you because they were to busy to care. Back home everyone knew who i am, a shadow of my parents.

This was my chance to find myself and start over, no rules, no yelling, no stress. At least that's what i thought. Young me didn't knew that finding a job in a city this big was hard. My applications got passed to every possible place i could work in until i settled to a coffee shop near my apartment.

Luckily for me Lily was looking for a roommate and we loved eachother since we exchanged glances. She lived in a small place but we made it ours. She was usually playing video games in the living room when i was coming home and we always ate leftover pizza trying to beat eachother in Mario kart.

3 years ago I wasn't sure what life had in store for me, but be sure i didn't knew it would turn out this way.

It was a quite evening and me and my friend from work Lucy were about to close the shop when we heard the door bell ring, an elegant woman approaching. I sighed trying to put on my best smile trying not to give reasons for my boss to fire me.

She was on her phone texting god knows who but she was so consumed that she didn't even look me in the eyes when she ordered.

"One black coffee, and make it quick" she spoke like she owned the world, and i knew right away that i hate this person, at least thats what i thought at the time.

"I am sorry but we dont serve attitude" i responded quite proud of myself because my words were enough for her to get her eyes off her phone.

She smirked mischievously making me question if i should be scared but her eyes were so intense that everything slipped off my mind. They were caramel and bright. Her suit looked expensive and so did the neckless that hanged beautifully on her open blouse

"You don't know who you talk to do you?" She said not breaking eye contact

And that's when Lucy came to save me "Here's your coffee" she said handing her the cup but she didn't bother to look at her, she was to busy eating me with her eyes

"Why thank you, try to be more like her, at least she knows her place" and like that she flipped her perfect brown hair and left the store

"Ugh who does she think she is?" I rolled my eyes

Lucy looked surprised and i could tell but when she was about to say anything our boss came from her office furious

"I dont pay you two to chat, now go clean the counter before i think twice about keeping you here" she was a bitch if you couldn't tell yet but i needed the money.

Two weeks had passed since i was fired. I couldn't help but put my boss into her place. I knew i risked my job but my days haven't been the best. Each night i see weird dreams of people screaming of people dying, of blood being spilled.

Lily said it was all the horror movies we watch on the weekends and i believed it trying to avoid the reality that they felt to real to be just nightmares.

Losing my job was a slap on my face waking me up. I wanted to be more than a girl who worked on a coffee shop. Back when i was younger i was always handling my father's finances and i was quite good at it.

Maybe i am stupid to even send an application in one of the biggest Financial companies but i was desperate to prove anyone who doubt me wrong, let alone the payment was better than any other job

I honestly didn't believe that i would even get an interview but i did and it was today.

"Girl relax, its just a job interview" Lily tried to reassure me but i was to anxious to calm down, i really needed this job

"Yes, with one of the biggest companies that exist, honestly maybe i should cancel and--"

"Hey hey hey, calm down i am sure you will kick ass" she said smiling "but not literally"

I cracked a smile appreciating the effort but i just grabbed my coat and left not wanting to be late and make a bad impression

"I will call you when i am done Lil, Love you!"

As soon as i stepped out of the taxi my stomach turned. I was a nobody trying to be someone in the wrong place. I am sure qualified people from all around the world would kill the have this position but here i am outside of the big building scared to even enter

A kind gentleman opened the door for me and as soon as i got in i was greeted by a woman

"Are you Miss Parker?" she asked kindly

"Yes i am here for my interview" i said trying not to panic at the thought that in some minutes i will be talking to the most successful woman in the finance industry

"Well Miss Sayeed is having a meeting right now but it wont take long, please have a seat"

As i sat down i immediately relaxed. This sofa was better than my bed. Miss Sayeed sure had an expensive taste considering the lobby decoration, i wonder how her office looks like

And then it hit me, i didn't even looked up to see who this woman is and now i am sure i will fail miserably and--

"Miss Sayeed is waiting for you, the office is on the 100th floor, good luck" she said looking at me pitifully like she could read my thoughts.

The elevator was going fast yet slow, enough for me to try to think of an escape but it finally came to a stop and the weight of the situation sank in my stomach

There was a long hallway and on the end of it there were two big wooden doors. Surprisingly there wasn't any secretary desk or anything, just an empty bright hallway.

My heels clicked on the expensive marble floor and with every click that echoed on my mind my anxiety was becoming worse. When i reached the door I wasn't sure if i should knock but i did even though she was expecting me

"Come in!" I hear from the other side, and i could swear that voice sounded familiar.

I opened the heavy door as my heart was racing. The office wasn't as i expected it to be. Everything about it was unique and beautiful. There were artifacts everywhere accompanied by expensive vases and a desk in the middle of it all

The papers she was holding were hiding her face but she somehow sensed my hesitation and gestured at me to sit down

I sat on one of the leather chairs that were Infront of her desk and i could feel my heart beating fast on every part of my body.

She finally let the papers down and my breath was caught "No way" i managed to say looking stunned

"Oh my! I know you from somewhere" she said looking skeptical

I wanted the earth to swallow me whole the moment i looked into those familiar caramel eyes

"That's right, you are the girl from the coffee shop" she smiled but it was anything else than genuine

"I- yes i am.. i am Amy Parker" i said folding my hands trying to look as professional as i could. But it wouldn't matter, she saw me with a pathetic outfit on a coffee shop that i didn't even treat her good at.

I sighed but then i saw the amusement in her eyes, something that made my blood boil

"Well this should be fun, why don't you tell me what are you doing here, you couldn't get enough of me?"

I smiled sarcastically, god she was so cocky and it only had been three minutes

"If i knew you are this CEO everyone talks about trust me i wouldn't even send an application here" i said rolling my eyes but she didn't look mad, just curious

"On a serious note, why do you think you deserve a place in my company" she suddenly turned to serious in a blink of an eye

"I- um i am not as experienced as anyone here but i helped my father back home with the finances and i managed fine" i said proudly sitting straight to the chair

But her serious face broke as she started laughing "Oh wow you made my day, you think handling a small business and the world's biggest company is the same?"

My heart stopped at the sight. She was actually making fun of me and it felt familiar considering the opinion my parents had for me. Without realising it i frowned looking at the floor and Kamilah noticed

"I am--"

"Save it, i knew coming here was a mistake but thank you for confirming it" i said getting up in hurry, putting my coat on. I don't know why i even bothered dressing up for someone to insult me in my face.

"You think everyone is below you just because you have a company?" I crossed my arms as she looked at me surprised, like nobody ever questioned her words

"Excuse me?" She now stood up reminding me that she is much taller than me

"Excuse you yes, i heard all kinds of things about you but i never bothered to look who you were, and guess what they were right you are cold, heartless and so damn cocky"

These words came out of nowhere and i quickly covered my mouth scared that i would say worse things

She gazed at me with her intense eyes never leaving mine "Is that right? And you believe everything you hear?"

"I just saw it in the way you talked about me, forget it i dont belong here" and like that i walked towards the elevator only for four words to make me stop my tracks

"What about a deal?"

I turn around only to see her approaching me dangerously close "I will hire you, and if you prove me you are worthy i will take back everything i said"

How could she even make this a deal? Maybe this is how business people apologize but maybe just maybe this was my opportunity to show everyone my worth.

Her hand was extended studying my features to find any hint of hesitation but i took it in mine shaking it hard

"Game on Sayeed" i said with determination in my eyes
