“Consider me pressured,” he says, plucking a cigarette from the carton and placing it between his lips. He gestures for the lighter in her lap.

“Well, don’t smoke just because I said so,” she says. “It’s not a good habit to start.”

“It’s a habit I already have,” Adrien says, his lips pulling sheepish around the cigarette that he’s artfully dangling at the edge of his mouth. “I’m just letting you pressure me into it again.”

“As long as it’s not your first,” she says, leaning forward and cupping one hand around the end of his cigarette, using the other to flick the lighter on.

His golden eyelashes brush his cheekbones as he inhales. “It would’ve been a pleasure to have you as my first,” he murmurs, looking up at her as smoke curls out from his lips.

A headcanon might not be supported by the text, but it does not contradict it.

If what you've got contradicts the text, that is an Alternate Universe version. It may be your preferred AU, but it's not a headcanon.

If it is either of those and accepted/used by a lot of other fans, it's a fanon.

#fandom #I know language shifts over time #I just gotta at least say it like this here and now before being swept away #the main importance of the distinction is clarity of what readers are getting into for a fic #and how accurate or plausible your meta analysis of the text is going to be #if you get very very used to your Preferred AU but called it a headcanon when discussing it #you're going to wind up in circular arguments with people who are pointing out that it contradicts canon

im not as invested in the kfp franchise as other people are, i didnt even see this movie til recently in the past year, but this is probably one of the best film scores for a specific scene that ive heard tbh.

#i should check out more of john powells stuff in particular bc he did httyd too and thats also phenomenal #like. ppl kinda complain about how scary that volume shift is around a minute in but i LOVE it #like its a perfect representation of how peaceful po’s life was vs how sudden the attack was and how it caused such distress and discord #its his buried trauma finally unveiling itself and overwhelming him and the rest of the score feels like him grappling with it #and the way the music just suddenly stops at the point his mom puts him in the crate #and the way it winds up one more time as po realizes what happened to his mom….#before going to the triumphant theme of the first movie to show how po’s trauma doesnt define him the way it did shen #echoed voice #Youtube

fascinating to see the yters i grew up with slowing leaving the spotlight. less sad than i thought i'd be?
