I needed a couple of hours to sort through my thoughts about 7x04 - because I was busy screaming, crying, kicking my feet giggling - but now I just gotta say, before I dive into any details: I AM SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY.

As a bisexual myself who realized she‘s always been bi at the ripe age of 30 and after already being very married to the very male love of her life (which wasn’t at all changed by the realization), seeing bi characters having their ‚oh‘ moment later in life than in their teens is SO VALIDATING.

I love how yes, there have always been hints and it makes sense for the character but they actually gave Buck the space to find out this new thing about himself. They showed an adult man figuring this important part of his identity out when he was ready for it. Without it being induced by trauma or relationship troubles. That is so so so meaningful and so so so beautiful at the same time. I legit CRIED LIKE A BABY watching Buck‘s face go ‚oh I see‘ after the kiss. He just landed in his body as the penny of truth dropped and he seemed so content it made me squeek. I love seeing our golden retriever carving his place out in the world and discovering how to fully embrace all of himself.

And I love he gets to do it with Tommy.

Yes, I am a buddie shipper and that hasn‘t changed. However, whichever way the show moves now, bi Buck means the world to me. And the way they are telling the story with Tommy in a gentle, realistic way, I hope we get more of that. Hell I even really like their vibe together. Tommy seems like he‘ll be okay holding the hand of a baby queer and help him dip his toe into the water. Wherever that leads, it was a genius decision to introduce him to Buck‘s story.

Now for the details:

This episode wasn‘t only beautiful, it was also hilarious. THE TOP GUN REFERENCE HAD ME HOLLERING. At that point I knew some queerness was gonna happen because you don’t make the queerest reference in movie history without reason. Also absolutely loved the sewer conversation (hooray for Ravi by the way, I missed that little dude) and the emotions Buck goes through during the conversation.

Buck‘s jealousy is as stupid as it is adorable and I have to say I did find Eddie the slightest bit unfair. He knows Buck has abandonment issues and still doesn‘t register that he might need some reassurance. Yes okay, I get he wanted a little payback for the Nathalia ‚she sees me‘ bs, but come on, Eds, cut the poor man some slack.

The acting in the episode? Chef‘s kiss. Oliver was amazing, but I don‘t see Lou getting enough credit. He already planted his visible interest in Buck in 7x03 nicely in that one tiny interaction at the end and he really delivered on the flirty banter in this episode. Oliver, meanwhile, has done such a great job at showing the gradual change in Buck and the nervousness and the curiosity and hopefulness it tugged on all of my heartstrings. Deserving of an Emmy-nom. Great Job, loved every second.

Maddy and Chim very also amazing in the ep, especially Chim clocking immediately why Buck really brought him to basketball. It‘s gonna be interesting to see their reaction to Buck‘s truth - if he‘s ready to share it yet.

The only thing that bugged me was that Athena‘s storyline felt very rushed. I liked the theme and I think it hinted at important conversations, but it resolved the conflict too fast and too easy - making said issues seem smaller than they are. I struggle to believe that they would let a POC kid off the hook that easily. I wish this was realistic, but I doubt it is.

Bachelor call was great, loved gossipy Josh (by god, I want more Josh, I love that goofball) and Chim going full fanboy.

Can‘t wait for next week and hope we get more Hen and Bobby there! I missed them this ep.

I am so excited to see where Buck‘s story arch will go next. I‘ll explode with happiness if it slowly drifts towards buddie, but I won’t be mad if it doesn‘t happen or if it does happen and the show takes its time to get there. A slow buildup for this would be chef‘s kiss and I have a lot of trust in ABC and the writers that this is how they will do it, if Buddie happens.

All in all: Favorite episode of all the series for me, worthy 100th episode, will watch a billion times, made me all warm and fuzzy and giggly.

#AroAceJugheadOrBust

I am glad the Riverdale show is over. To the people gushing about how the show was nonsensical, special & amazing, I would like to remind (or tell) that Jughead is canonically asexual aromantic.

There was initial enthousiasm in the aroace community at the annoncement of this show in 2016 & early 2017, especially because the actor Cole Sprouse was initially x supportive of an asexual Jughead, had read the comics & claimed respect for the decades-long original material indicating that Jughead was aroace (even before it was official confirmed in 2016 in the Chip Zdarsky comics). I don't know if Cole Sprouse mentioned it since, I couldn't find anything after 2017.

In 2017, there was a months-long campaign, with the hashtag #AroAceJugheadOrBust. We kept up hope, especially because at the time, it would have been the biggest piece of aroace representation ever seen on television, in a mainstream show no less. And we weren't hoping for something out of reach, they were adapting a comic where the best friend of the lead was consistently depicted as aroace, for decades. And we were told we would get a fair portrayal of the character.

Time passes, the show aired, Jughead initiated a kiss with Betty & Jughead got a girlfriend. At some point someeone involved in the show straight up said (I would cite the source but I don't remember well & I didn't bookmark it at the time, sorry) that the reason they gave the character a love interest was that otherwise it didn't make for a compelling or interesting story (I don't remember precisely, sorry).

I stewed in that a long time, thinking about how I'm one of the most interesting person I know, being aroace isn't boring, if they can't have a character being interesting without giving them a romance plot, that's them being terrible at their job...

When all our hopes were dashed, other people, many queer people started to show up & then like that show. Rooting for it. I saw praise for queer representation for bi or gay characters, but I didn't see any mention of the straight-washing of one of the main characters & how maybe some solidarity was warranted (how any potential good gay or bi rep in a minor character wouldn't make up for the straight washing of a main character).

As an aroace person, I wanted the show to fail, for the widespread outrage of the queer community condamning straight-washing to underwhelm any positive review.

That didn't happened this time. I hope the next time people try to erase aromantic or asexual identities of fictional characters in popular media, things are different & we do get that solidarity & support. I hope things get better.

11) Drolta. She doesn't do anything egregious, in fact she's kind of tolerable, but she stole Isaac's drip. And for that, I will forever be salty :) (also yeah I couldn't decide for #10 so I added one, whatcha gonna do about it)

10) Sumi and Taka. Ah yes, these two Japanese people who look identical are most assuredly not related, they are just Japanese! Aside from that, they are the emblem of S3's utter failure: they add nothing of importance except for a gratuituous (and OOC) rape scene that is supposed to send the message "humans suck, trusting is for fools"... that in on itself doesn't change a thing, because Alucard is fine afterwards. But hey, you got your bi rep! Aren't you happy with this show's representation? :)

9) Emmanuel. This guy is just stupid. Just because you lampshade how absurd it is to ally yourself with vampires because you think the Revolution is "godless", it doesn't make it any less absurd. We're still at this level of shallow, childish CHURCH BAD.

8) Sypha. You're not cute when you insult Trevor. Stop it. I remembered her being nicer than she actually was :( during the rewatch she was painful, constantly complaining, defending Alucard from Trevor rather than the other way around (but still ditching him when he needed company because yay adventures!!!), and acting bossily with her bf because that's the only kind of character they can write here. Also she's OP af and that's not fun.

7) Maria. Does she even have a personality beyond stereotypical Twitter communist teen? Good god girl shut up you are nothing more than useless backdrop!

6) Carmilla. In theory, she could be an interesting unapologetic female villain who reacted to her trauma with rage rather than sorrow, a female Dracula but even pettier. In practice, she is the parody of a radfem written by a man with zero respect for women, so you can imagine that she isn't exactly nuanced. I hate that Dracula and his boytoys were made to be absolute dumbasses for her to win, only for her to conclude effectively nothing. villain.exe

5) Alucard. You absolute cunt. Am I supposed to like, or worse being attracted to, this piece of shit who spends his time insulting Trevor and treating him like dog shit under his shoe? He has zero of the effortless charm of the real Alucard, but I'm supposed to root for him because he's hot when he cries all boobily. Fuck off with your disingenous fanservice. (also his design is atrocious and the artstyle doesn't flatter him at all)

4) Erzsébet. Literally an OC made by a 5 yo. Look at her! She's so cool and special! She's older than Dracula, stronger than Dracula, more evil than Dracula, more dangerous than Dracula, and she turns into an invincible Sun Thundercat! Yeah good job, but you forgot to give her a personality.

3) Annette. She is not a character. She is nothing more than accurately engineered discourse bait. I refuse to acknowledge this shallow attempt at "badass representation" that I am supposed to like on the sole basis of her race and gender. I am so tired of Stronk Women that are actually giant assholes, all flash and no substance.

2) Isaac. I will concede that he has the most coherent character arc of all characters, but aside from that, he pisses me off something fierce for how overrated he is. Forgettable design, pretentious as fuck, spouting faux-philosophical quotes to hide how petty he is, basically a jihadist in S3, wakes up one day in S4 and suddenly he's Muslim Jesus, disgustingly OP because the narrative finds every way to suck his shiny dick... and his amazing arc that everyone praises him for, the thing that makes him "better than that stupid gay joker from CoD"? It's just a worse version of Hector's from the mangas, which left him Hector here with no arc to speak of. Get him out of my sight.

1) Lenore. Her concept is great. She is an intriguing foil to both Carmilla and Hector, and incarnates an unique type of villainy: she is amoral, kind for her own selfish purposes, with understandable goals but willing to do anything to achieve them. I want to like her. Too bad she is a disgusting, repulsive, inconsistent, bratty rapist that I am supposed to feel sorry for because oh, she's not so bad after all :) she did everything for Hector's own good :) she's not actually evil :) she deserved to smooch the man she raped into slavery, don't you feel bad that she sunned herself like a selfish coward :) Lenore begs to be rewritten by someone who doesn't jerk off to abusive dommy mommies, but in her canon state, she makes me ill.

Now for the episodes :P

10) The Great Work (S4E7): I never watched it because it's boring as shit, which speaks of the terrible pacing of this show and especially S4. I know it has the infamous "vampires dislike crosses because their vision is fucked up" scene lmao

9) The River (S2E6): It's the episode where the zombie bishop resurrected by a dark necromancer who is now working for a vampire with plans of enslaving mankind is apparently favored by God to the point of being able to bless water. Do I need to say more? Well, it's also the episode where the heroes suddenly remember they are supposed to do shit and hack into Dracula's castle, and the episode that fully cements Dracula as an ineffectual pathetic antagonist easily manipulable by the real villain, no I don't care that he's kinda cool in For Love. (at least the scene with Carmilla avoiding the river and the castle is fun to watch)

8) Bless Your Dead Little Hearts (S3E1): The beginning of Alucard's and Trepha's plotlines, two utter mindnumbing wastes of time, and Hector's plotline, which is the show beating me over the head with a nail bat while screeching "LOOK HOW PATHETIC HECTOR IS! LOOK AT THIS PITIFUL WET CAT! LOOK AT HIM COWERING NAKED IN A CELL EATING MOLDY BREAD! FEEL SORRY FOR HIM!". Just unpleasant for all sorts of reasons.

7) It's Been A Strange Ride (S4E10): Trevor miraculously survives Death! Alucard is happy to live with his new bossy gf as if nothing ever happened! Lenore suns herself just for a final kick in the balls to Hector, whose character will forever be remembered as "useless simp"! And most importantly, Dracula and Lisa get to live again as if the dude didn't just try to exterminate mankind, and they will have endless kinky sex until she dies while Alucard will forever mourn his parents but no one gives a shit about that because we love to piss on the games! :D

6) Old Homes (S2E2): It has the double combo "Alucard being the biggest moistest cunt to Trevor while we're supposed to laugh at this hilarious banter" and "Carmilla girlbossily girlbosses all over Dracula who can't even punish this vampire who insults his wife in front of everyone, establishing herself as the cooler villain"! Joy!

5) The Good Dream (S3E6): "Walkies! :D"

4) Back In The World (S4E5): It's the one with the infamous "Oh, shush, you were having fun" :) and all the Lenore apologism that follows :)

3) You Don't Deserve My Blood (S4E6): I get it. Isaac is Jesus and I should drop to my knees to suck his entire dick. Good thing this is his last appearance. Other than that, this episode is the last nail in the coffin for what was left of Hector's character, who is revealed to have been working to resurrect Dracula (a complete spit in the face to everything he stood for in S2) and also chooses to stay with his rapist instead of seeking true freedom.

2/1) The Harvest (S3E9)/Abandon All Hope (S3E10): It's hard to separate the two, and I wouldn't know which one is worse. The Harvest is infamous for being half boring fight scenes, and half "hot" sex scenes that are actually rape by deception: the entire episode is simply uncomfortable to sit through, not helped by the shoddy editing. Abandon All Hope is the season finally dropping its final message: "the world sucks, and you will be betrayed". Everyone except babyboy Isaac is left traumatized and cynical because we are so fucking edgy, we are just like Berserk fr fr. And, of course, in retrospect, Alucard and Hector's endings piss me off even more as all of their pain was for fucking nothing :)

(Nocturne is completely forgettable and doesn't reach the peaks of NFCV so it deserves its own ranking)

can people please stop saying there’s a whole other season to go over these characters sexualities and relationships, because no. I know this show is not about relationships but they’ve had four seasons full of love triangles, multiple straight relationships, and deep emotional moments between so many straight couples, and you’re telling me they couldn’t give will byers 5 minutes to have a proper coming out scene in the 2 hour and 30 minute long finale, they couldn’t fit that in? Or give robin a love interest who doesn’t have a boyfriend already and is in more than three scenes (and if vickey is bi that is wonderful, i am bi myself and love that representation but rlly? making robins only love interest have a boyfriend? cmon) They’re going to make everyone wait another year to wonder and see what happens to the queer characters they have pushed to the side and made their love lives irrelevant. it’s just not okay at all to hype everyone up and get everyone excited during PRIDE MONTH, only to let everyone down except the straights :/ I’m rooting for will to have a coming out scene next season, but they had every opportunity this season and they wasted it. im so disappointed

Hi! I'd say when writing a story with trans characters, often people fall into the definition problem, a la "Oh, you're trans? Can I please have a 500 word essay on what that means to you?" or the magician problem, basically "Oh, you're trans? Wow! I never would have guessed, it's like you poofed into totally a passing body!" Both have roots in well-intentioned soil, but being trans is just like knowing how to play clarinet or being double jointed. It's one fact of many that builds a person.

I am with you 100%! Again, cis lady here, but I am bi, and so I can relate on the level of characters who "just aren't into labels" being a thing. Which is a fine take, but just...one that gets old fast when you want authentic rep, you know? Queerness for me is one slice of the character pie, so we are dead on the same page, Anon!

I mostly figured I'd ask because A. I'm super duper early on in the writing process and so it's extremely easy to pivot right now based on responses, B. To latch onto your clarinet comparison, I do enjoy listening to the clarinet and know a couple clarinetists, but despite these things, I wouldn't be able to describe, like, breathing patterns or specific finger aches etc etc the way they would, so...C. what's the point of spending time on Tumblr.com if not to crowdsource for authentic representation purposes amiright

my horimiya review

So once again I wasn’t super huge on the main couple. Not because they’re them but because I didn’t really care for them as characters to begin with. (my simpin ass only came for soft ucchi in romance setting and I got it so)

The whole “different side of them”/other persona thing was never really a thing I was interested in/

relate to. I don’t really see how Hori differed too much from her school life vs home but I don’t know why Miyamura even put on the appearance he did early on. Depression something something iunno

Like he let his hair down to cover the piercings but why also the glasses. And it wasn’t like he was trying to hide his “other look” from hori when she first saw him because he doesn’t pretend to be someone else and straight up tells her who he is.

Maybe I just don’t like how a person can be so drastically different but maybe it’s (again) japans social norms that really make it a big problem for them. Which I will never understand because I like to be true to myself, can’t relate. (YamaDai’s character in particular, how does that even work, why does he even have a different persona)

Back to HoriMiya as a couple, they’re fine. I think they’re trying to push for the “she wears the pants” thing and it’s okay and I don’t know if I don’t watch enough romances where this is actually refreshing or what.

What I don’t like is the sometimes gay jokes at Miyamura. Like I can’t tell if they’re being funny by being homophobic (joking about ishimiya) or it’s supposed to be an attempt at bi rep (miya brushing off the comment about them dating by downplaying himself), I highly doubt it’s the latter.

I honestly thought the ex bully was a closeted homophobe that’s why he hated Miyamura (the whole stuck in a closet dream sequence) and maybe that’s what they were going for but I wish they had more scenes of them actually getting closer after the cake shop scene. The next ep just had Hori saying they were too close. (WHEN???) So I can see they might be trying to do some lgbt thing (also with tiny hori fangirl whats her name) but none of it feels like it’s supposed to be serious. If maybe they had at least one lgbt couple that doesn’t involve horimiya maybe it’d be something.

Maybe I’m just mad because I was rooting for Sakura. I have a soft spot for the kind soft hearted megane girls and IshiYuki felt sooooo pair the spares in that friend group. I’m glad they did something a little different by not having them Out Right Date but it’s still end game.

Uhhhh my take away was the male friendships (miya and ishi are too sweet together) and sometimes the doki doki romance scenes that I am not immune to. Also OnoDaddy was fun and I liked the hori family claiming Miyamura. The show was funny enough that I wasn’t bored.

Actually thinking about it, I dislike all the couples in the show 🤣 I don’t hate the SengokiRemi couple I just hate Remi XP

Book Review : One Last Stop, by Casey McQuiston

Alright so this was delightful from start to finish. The concept, first of all, was great - loner college student with a knack for investigation, August, falls in love with badass butch amnesiac from the 70s who is stuck out of time in the New York subway, Jane ; awesome. I find subways fascinating, full of history and spooky vibes and potential encounters and dreary routine and urban poetry (I guess this feeds into my obsession with underground places lmao) and the story made full use of the setting. Plus something about the smut scene in an empty metro carriage at 3 am over the Manhattan Bridge was like !!! ok unrealistic but blablabla women being scared away from public spaces and queer ppl being assaulted in the metro etc etc. beautiful. healing.

the dialogue is funny, the two main characters are interesting and likeable and their chemistry has a lot of electric zing and realness to it. sweet but not desexualized or trying too hard to be 'wholesome'. something about their dynamic of two characters who have drifted between places and have never been able to really put down roots due to complicated family history, finding an anchor in each other (on a moving train no less!) really worked for me. plus points for making the love interest a beautiful, desirable, butch character (and Chinese American as well) bc i feel there is so not enough of those. plus it's nice to have a bi character that's an awkward virgin instead of a Casanova, that's also stereotype breaking. honestly good bi rep.

i also really liked the found family of quirky roommates. overall it's a pretty classic stories of early-twenties coming of age, becoming an adult, learning to let people in, putting down roots, daring to become yourself fully, letting go of your past, etc - but done very well. liked all the nods to queer history as well, how entangled it is with city life, and i loved all the 'missed connections' notes of how Jane made an impression on people throughout the years.

unpopular opinion but i was never the biggest fan of Red White and Royal Blue, found it fun but too tropey, kinda bland, and honestly overrated. (and the Disneyfication of US politics really grating. also i just read too many presidential AU fics that were like. better.) my fave part of it was the character of Nora, the foul mouthed witty friend, and the author went with that sort of tone here, which i think she does very well, plus overall it feels like a more original and fully realized story. (which, again, is just my opinion, but it's again frustrating how little wlw stories get attention compared to mlm ones, etc.) so she's kind of won me over with this one, i might pick up 'I kissed Shara Wheeler' at some point.

a few quibbles that kept it from being an all time fave : i do still find her writing a bit, hm, immature in places, not as evocative as it could be. things do get tied up almost a little too neatly, and the love interest's radical politics feel a bit more like an aesthetic gimmick but the book has a big subplot about saving a landmark diner from gentrification so i'll give that a pass. Regarding August, i am also kind of annoyed that every single shitty parents storyline ends up with 'but they tried their best and we're more alike than we know and we reconcile because family!:!!!' like it would be nice to have characters' happy ending be them enforcing their boundaries and wanting distance for once. but maybe that's not fluffy romance territory idk. Also, the cover is - if not awful, nice colors - too close to boring Canva corporate style, i hate this trend, this could have been so much cooler honestly !!! but none of those things are a big deal.

anyway !! i enjoyed it a lot and as a light, funny romantic beach read it was perfect. definitely goes on my list of fave sapphic romances.

Hi! I’m here to bring you yet another Danganronpa tier list: the sexuality tier list, which you can find here.

Now I’m going to be honest here: I don’t really have any LGBT headcanons. It’s just not really something I focus on much when it comes to fandoms. Instead I usually just focus on ships, and as a result from that I tend to present a lot of characters as LGBT in fanfictions and posts I’ve made or reblogged. In other words, a massive chunk of my “headcanons” here are a direct result of shipping (as well as information I’ve picked up from the games themselves). That being said, it was interesting to actually think about this for once, so I’m kinda glad I did the tier list. And it gave me an excuse to bring back the rainbow color scheme I usually put in my tier lists for aesthetic reasons.

The original tier list had Straight at the top, but I moved it to the bottom for two reasons. One, this is Tumblr and that’s not what you’re here for. Two, I gave it a neutral color, and having a gray section next to a white section (i.e. the title of the list) like that looked bad to me. I definitely prefer this setup just on aesthetic alone.

Because this is largely based on ships, I feel it needs to be said that representation does not factor into this chart in any way. I know it probably looks bad that the only character in the Lesbian category is one of my least favorite (though NOT hated or even disliked, I should point out) characters in the main series. That has nothing to do with the fact that she’s a lesbian. She’s just a jerk, and usually not in a way that’s at least entertaining enough for me to like her.

Also keep in mind that this is just the main cast of the main series games. If you were to include characters from the DR3 anime, UDG, or the spin-offs, the Gay, Lesbian, and Ace categories would get more rep, certainly. Think Juzo, Yui, Takemichi, that gay guy with the trumpet, etc.

With that said, let’s go through the list:

Gay

Not gonna lie, one of the reasons why Rantaro is here (and not in Ace) is because of ships. Though I do sometimes ship him with girls, canon suggests he’s not interested in dating girls, and most fans seem to headcanon him as either gay or ace because of this, so I respected that. That being said, I also acknowledge he’s a very popular character in mlm ships, and at the time I was putting this together I hadn’t gotten to Taka yet so the Gay tier was still empty, and Byakuya was already sitting in Ace, so all of that swayed me to putting Rantaro here instead of Ace.

Taka was much easier to place here. He strikes me as a closeted gay man who probably doesn’t even realize he is gay. “Hey, let’s all hang out in the bath, guys! Getting naked is essential to form bonds with your fellow man! No need to be ashamed, it’s tradition!"

Lesbian

Again, ships. I only ship Hiyoko with one other character, and as soon as I say that you already know who she is.

Bisexual (Male Preference)

Akane is mostly here to account for any wlw ships I may have of her (e.g. Hina, Sonia maybe). Obviously she has a thing with Nekomaru, so Male Preference.

Chiaki is here for the same reason as Akane. I’ve shipped her with characters like Sonia and Ibuki before, but she really digs Hajime.

Chihiro honestly could have been anywhere in the Bi and Pan sections, but I ultimately went with Male Preference because of ships, specifically the fact that outside of the more... R18 circles of the Interwebs Chihiro tends to be shipped with guys more often than girls. Also doesn’t hurt that my OTP is Naehiro. I mean, have you seen how often Chihiro blushes around Makoto? (There’s more to it than that, as I’ve covered in the past. I’m just trying to add more fuel to the fire.)

Himiko is probably one of the few characters that isn’t here mainly because of ships. I do think she has some attachment towards Tenko, but I also get “I’m uncomfortable around her” vibes from her, and there are moments where she seems to crush on Kokichi (of all people) so that’s why she’s here. Still very much bi, though.

Hina has a crush on Makoto and has a complex around wishing she was more feminine so she can attract boys. So why isn’t she in the Straight section? ...Because Sakura, duh. And Kyoko too. And any other wlw ship you can think of that might work with Hina.

Honestly if it wasn’t for Miu I probably would have considered putting Kokichi in Gay. Again, while shipping plays a big part of my choices here, much like with Rantaro I have no qualms with putting a character in a tier that contradicts any ships I might have with that character, if those ships aren’t something I’m super invested in. This is a very important distinction, because it’s why I let ships sway my hand for so many of these even if I am also okay with going “Just because I ship this doesn’t mean I headcanon it” as I did with Rantaro. And honestly Kokichi’s ship teasing with Himiko does come off as more trollish than a sign that he’s into her, but he really gets into his back-and-forth with Miu, in my personal opinion, and he gets into it far more often with her for that matter. It’s why it’s one of my favorite ships for both of them tbh, and it’s because I like the ship so much that I just can’t ignore it for this sexuality headcanon tier list.

Maki... is here because of ships (e.g. Kaede).

Sakura... is here because of ships (e.g. Hina). ...What, you were expecting me to put a guy in the example? Remember, she has a boyfriend in canon.

Sayaka... is here because of... NOT ships, but DRAT. Yes, really. (”We really got down and dirty, Naegi-kun.”)

Sonia... strikes me as someone who swings both ways. I can’t describe exactly why I feel that way, but yes.

Bisexual (No Preference)

Celeste wants a harem of vampire boys but shipping her with Kyoko is also very popular and honestly i feel like it would fit her character. She’s got a look that says “I could get any ass I want and I know it.”

Ibuki is decked out in blues and pinks, and also I ship her fairly evenly among both boys and girls. She just screams bi icon to me, more so than any other character in the series.

Junko is either bi with no preferences or pan. She is an equal opportunity heart-and-soul-breaker and lust-for-despair machine.

There is no Mukuro in this list, but honestly I would probably put her where I put Junko anyway.

Kaede... is here because of ships (e.g. Miu, Maki)

Honestly I had no idea where to put Kirumi, so I just randomly chose one that I wouldn’t regret later if I ever put more thought into who I shipped her with.

I’m pretty sure Nagito being bisexual has some degree of canon attached to it??? I think??? I’m not entirely sure tbh, but fuck it. I’m doing this for fun anyway, so this doesn’t really matter.

Shuichi, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. I also find him to be more shippable with guys than the other two protags, so IMO he has no preference.

Toko might have a thing or two for pretty boys, but... Komaru, I mean, this isn’t exactly shocking, I don’t think. Probably was closeted before she met Komaru. I mean she did focus on Hina’s boobs a lot in DR1, let’s not forget.

Tsumugi, much like Kirumi, is here because I haven’t put much thought into her ships.

Bisexual (Female Preference)

Gundham has a thing with Sonia in canon, but I can see him being bi. So... yeah, ships again.

Hajime, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Chiaki and Mikan game is just too strong.

Hifumi might claim to only like 2D, but his interest in Chihiro both in human form and computer program form (and the fact that this didn’t go away after the gender reveal) places him here.

Kaito strikes me as a closeted bisexual. The kind that could start any given conversation with “I’m not gay, but...”

Kazuichi also strikes me as a closeted bisexual, only his “I’m not gay, but...” is rooted more in dumbass than it is in systematic homophobia.

Korekiyo... is here because of ships (e.g. Rantaro).

Kyoko is bi as fuck, and I can see her having a preference towards girls in particular. She gets shipped with girls a lot (e.g. Celeste, Hina, Yui, and even Junko and Mukuro), and when she is shipped with boys it’s usually just pretty boys (e.g. Makoto, Byakuya, Ryota, Shuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro). Also note that aside from Makoto and maybe Byakuya, Kyoko’s girl ships are far more popular than her boy ships. Just something I’ve noticed over the years.

Leon... is here because of ships (e.g. Chihiro).

Mahiru is here because I’m pretty sure she has a thing for Hajime in her FTEs, but obviously she tends to get shipped with girls more often (especially Hiyoko), and I agree.

Makoto, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Kyoko, Hina, Sayaka, and Mukuro game is just too strong.

Mikan may be interested in Hajime somewhat, but her obsession with Junko cannot be ignored, no matter how much some of you may want to.

Mondo is another character that strikes me as a closeted bisexual. He is said to strike out all the time with girls, so I do think he’s attracted to women. And I do get some vibes that he’s attracted to Chihiro pre-reveal. And if circumstances had been different, I imagine he probably still would have been post-reveal. But obviously it’s his bond with Taka that I feel cements his sexuality in, at the very least, an mlm category.

Tenko... is here NOT because of ships, but because I’m pretty sure she’s at least sort of interested in Shuichi because of some canon thing... and also I don’t want to put her in Lesbian just because it feels like I’d be stereotyping the Lesbian category if I do that. If we were to compare her to the character that I did put in Lesbian, Hiyoko doesn’t treat people like shit because they’re men, she’s an equal-opportunity asshole. Still not the best representation for lesbians by a long shot, but at least Hiyoko doesn’t follow the stereotype of a man-hating lesbian. She’s just like that, and that’s okay. But putting Tenko there, especially if she’s shown some degree of interest in a male character at some point in the game, just rubs me the wrong way personally, because it would feel like I’m ignoring canon just to stereotype her. But that’s just a personal hang up of mine. No disrespect intended toward anyone who genuinely feels that Tenko is a lesbian. Maybe you see something there that I don’t, and that’s perfectly fine.

Pansexual

I don’t remember exactly how her FTEs went, so I’m not going to get into that, but Angie just comes off as pan to me, like gender doesn’t fit into the equation at all for her.

Gonta I can see as either pan or ace. I feel like he wouldn’t care about gender, and honestly the only reason I decided to put him in Pan rather than Ace is because of that scene with Miu.

Imposter is not only pan, they are currently OT3ing it up with Ibuki and Ryota as we speak, and that’s a fact.

Keebo... is mostly here because of ships. A lot of ships, actually. Mostly male ships (Kokichi, Shuichi, Kazuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro) but there’s also Miu to consider. And the Miu game is SO strong that I put him in Pan instead of, say, Male Preference.

Just gonna lump them together because I have the same thing to say about both of them: Miu and Teruteru would **** anything that walks. What did I censor? Well, I’m doing the Nier: Automata thing, so you can put whatever you want in there and trust me, it would probably fit, for better or for worse.

Ace

I know this is an unpopular opinion, because Naegami, but I just don’t think Byakuya is interested in anyone, at least not in that way. He might be fascinated with how common people live, because it’s so foreign to him, but that’s about it.

Straight

Even though I do ship Fuyuhiko with some of the boys, his Peko game is so strong that honestly I can’t see him actually dating anyone aside from Peko outside of some very niche fanfiction.

Honestly, Hiro was another one that I was just like “I have no idea what to do with you.” I think maybe his team up with Kanon made me eventually choose to put him in Straight? I don’t remember. I clearly didn’t put much thought into Hiro.

I really only ship Nekomaru with Akane, so that’s why he’s here. I’m sure if I dive deep enough into my psyche I can pull an mlm ship with Nekomaru in it out of my ass, but like Rantaro that wouldn’t be significant enough to change anything.

Peko is in the same boat as Fuyuhiko. I have shipped her with girls before, but her Fuyuhiko game is just too strong.

Ryoma had a girlfriend once, and as far as I can remember he didn’t really seem interested in anybody in the game, so that’s all I have to go off of for him.

So there you have it. Explanations for literally all of them! Explanations that were definitely not pulled out of my ass as I was typing them, nope, certainly not. Definitely won’t be tagging all of them, but I may tag the ones with the longest entries. And like all the tier lists I’ve done, this was just for fun and honestly any opinion I have for any of these characters could change at a moment’s notice because my brain is fickle like that. Tried my best to make sure that every tier had at least one character in it, but I did so without trying to force characters in places that I personally did not believe they should go. I hope you all enjoyed my dive into this area of fandom that I rarely dive into (the LGBT headcanons, not the ships, obviously). It was a lot of fun, and hopefully it will stay fun and not result in angry anons blasting me for my opinions. I am grateful that this never seems to happen to me, but I’ve seen it happen to others and I know what Tumblr is capable of at its worst. These are just headcanons and a matter of personal opinion, and if you disagree with them, that’s perfectly okay. Your feelings and opinions are also valid.

I've had this message sitting in my inbox for a couple of days because I genuinely didn't know what to reply.

My immediate reaction was NO, I won’t do it.

But I decided to take some time to think about it, I waited to see this week’s episodes play out on screen and check if maybe other people were gonna gif Vanessa and Suzy’s first interaction but no one did.

I’m of the idea that wlw couples and lesbian/bi characters on screen deserve support and visibility, especially since we rarely get the stories we deserve on screen. Michelle has done a lot for us in terms of rep, on and offscreen and I think completely ignoring Vanessa’s new story wouldn’t be fair. That’s why I’ve decided to gif Suzy and Vanessa’s scenes while we wait for Vanity to come back to us.

I don’t think it would be fair or respectful to do it in this one. People follow me for Vanity and since I know how difficult it can be to see things you don’t like on your dashboard I would never use this blog for other couples involving Charity and Vanessa.

I just want to say that I won’t be as dedicated as I am when I gif Vanity and that for the time being I won’t be accepting gif requests about Vanessa and Suzy. I’ll just gif some of their scenes. I will keep making gifs of Vanity obviously! Nothing changed in the way I feel about them. They’re both on screen and even if they’re with other people now, I’m still fully rooting for them 🥰 I hope for some jealous Charity at some point 🤞🏻and any kind of positive Vanity interaction, even if just as mates for now.

I’m just gonna try and enjoy Vanessa’s journey in the next few weeks/months while we wait for Vanity to come back to us 🥰 and I hope Charity will be given the respect her character deserves, regardless of who she’s with.

EDIT: and I regret not mentioning when I first posted but a few people rightfully reminded me how important it is for lgbt woc to have attention and visibility and I completely agree which is another reason why I think this upcoming story deserves to be valued.

Warnings: Another 'moment' that's interrupted too quickly,

Watching the way you interact with Bokuto places a question in the dark-haired male's head: what was so special about you that had all of these grown men, falling over themselves for your attention? Hell, he doesn't think he's ever seen either Iwaizumi or Ushijima look at someone, with any romantic interest, before.

It was truly a sight to see. Though, with his astonishment also comes curiosity. He finds himself wanting to see what is so amazing about you that had not only Suna but also Miya, who to his knowledge, hadn't dated you, utterly whipped.

Dark eyes trail after Bokuto as he leaves you before they fall to Miya, who has already turned his attention towards Sakusa. There was something almost like a challenge in the faux blonde's eyes. Something that spurred Sakusa to take a few steps towards you.

"You may need this, you never know when the last time anyone here has washed their hands was." Cringing at the thoughts his own statement brought, Sakusa holds out his small, portable hand-sanitizer dispenser out for you. Though, he quickly finds himself souring at the thought of you touching the bottle, something he'd spent hours trying to deem 'clean.'

Watching you turn to face him, he has to resist cringing as you reach out. That is until he notices your hand outstretched, with your palm up so that he could distribute the disinfectant into your hands, rather than you going for the bottle. "You have a point," he doesn't expect you to say that. "Not to mention, I'm sure Iwaizumi has people clean the gym, but I don't even want to think about the sweat and germs on the equipment."

Color him impressed.

Pushing down on the pump of the small bottle, he allows a few drops to fall into your hand. Most would have deemed the small pool in your palm too much, though you don't complain, proceeding to rub your hands together until the liquid is gone.

"I have some lotion in my bag if you'd like some. I know that washing your hands and putting on hand sanitizer probably dries them out, a lot." His watching you warily for a moment doesn't seem to deter you, though. You just shrug, "Though don't hesitate to say no, Kiyoomi. You won't hurt my feelings. You've always been wary of germs. I understand."

For a moment, Sakusa squares his shoulders and looks you up and down. Did you remember that from all of the games that you both played in high school, or was it the fact he carried a whole bottle of hand sanitizer, gloves tucked into his pockets, and he had yet to take off his mask, despite probably being extremely hot? He can't quite figure it out.

He also can't quite figure out why he says yes.

He doesn't realize the words, "I'll take some," come out of his mouth, until you are guiding him over to your bag.

Sakusa watches you pull your bottle out from your small drawstring bag, trying to focus on anything but you. Do you really rep your roommate's merch, everywhere you go? Your bag, your crewneck, you'd even started talking about him within five minutes of arriving.

A brief thought crosses his mind: What will it take to get you to wear his jersey at the Olympics? Though, as soon as the thought comes, he shoots it down. Because in the case of that happening, he would have to wash it repeatedly and worry about what you'd done in it. The fact that the thought had even crossed his mind in the first place, though, has him absolutely reeling.

Did he have a fleeting crush on you in high school? Of course, how could he not have? You were everything.

No matter the fact that you were on the opposing team, all you were was kind to him. Especially when it came to public situations. He remembers all of the times you'd help him escape from a crowd, knowing he hated him. He remembers watching you fall to Suna's side, grasping for his hand as the two of you walked to the court, wondering if you'd have been okay with holding his hands, even though they were gloved. He remembers what a formidable match you were, whether you were paired with your boyfriend, or someone else. Though he also remembers watching you walk away from every game, win or loss, impassive, like the game itself didn't matter to you.

He remembers the day he'd asked you if you actually enjoyed playing volleyball.

He remembers your response to him, as well. "I enjoy... The adoration and acceptance that comes from my success."

So yes, maybe he had a fleeting crush on you in high school. But that's all it was. A fleeting crush.

Nonetheless, as he watches you gingerly squeeze some sweet-smelling lotion into his palm, he finds himself opening his mouth to ask you a question, similar to the one he asked years ago. "Do you... Enjoy what you do, now?"

A light laugh escapes you as you squeeze some lotion into your own hand, placing the lotion away, before beginning to rub it in. "Still worried about me, are you, Kiyoomi?"

A snort escapes him in response. "No, more still stunned that you played for years, all for acceptance from the two half-wits over there, when you could have been doing something that you enjoyed, with people who accepted you, with or without a career in volleyball." He can smell the lotion through his mask, though he finds that he doesn't really mind. It smells just like you.

"Are you trying to say that you would have been that person for me, Kiyoomi?" You don't invade his personal space, but suddenly Kiyoomi finds himself uncomfortable. Even if it was a situation he had put himself in.

"I should get back to work," Sakusa states, now avoiding your eyes. "I will talk to you more later." His words are curt, leaving no room for question. Though you just smile - one that he warily regards as being filled with mischief, as he turns away from you to walk away.

As he walks away from you, though, Sakusa feels that uncomfortable feeling arise again. Thinking more about it, he can't help but notice that it doesn't feel quite like discomfort... No, it is more of an... Is he embarrassed?

No, that isn't it. It can't be. You're just someone helping them grow as a team. And it will remain like that, as far as he's concerned.

Sakusa hadn't ever had a crush on anyone until you and Atsumu came along. Along with his on-and-off crush for your former best friend, you were one of the first people he had feelings for.

You and Suna were in sync when you used to play together. You two practiced hard and perfected being decoys for one another. It tripped up the other team at least 90% of the time.

You got good at volleyball and playing at multiple positions, mainly because as a child you always wanted your grandmother to brag about you the way that she bragged about Shinsuke. You thought being good at volleyball would do that, but it didn't, it just made you miserable for years.

... So it's been a while... Does saying 'I hope you guys weren't worried about me' sound conceited? I feel like it does, but still, I hope you guys have been doing well. I kind of dropped off the face of the earth for a while. I'm sorry. But, nonetheless, I'm hoping I'll get to start posting more regularly again soon.

In any case, you guys better be taking care of yourselves! That means eating, drinking some water, and sleeping at least five hours. I'm rooting for you, okay? You deserve to be healthy and happy and I am very proud of you. Have a good day! Or night!
