I started thinking about the Elite Four doing something for Poppy’s birthday. And then I started thinking about Poppy dragging them to a haunted house. So here are some headcanons about that. Sometimes a family is just a girl and her coworkers.

- Initially, Rika is prepared to hold Poppy’s hand to ensure the poor girl doesn’t get frightened. Her laid-back personality mixed with Poppy’s fondness for her makes Rika the best candidate to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t get overwhelmed. While this may have been Poppy’s idea, she is still quite young, and no one wants her special day ruined.

- Hassel isn’t even considered for this position. His screaming would probably end up scaring Poppy more than the haunted house itself. And while Larry isn’t the most expressive and unlikely to have any dramatic reactions, his plain aura would attract every scare actor like flies to honey. So Rika is assigned to watch Poppy duty. Which she is more than happy to fulfill.

- Geeta is originally supposed to go, but having all of the Elite Four and the Top Champion off work on the same day is easier said than done. So, she stays at the office and even picks up some of Larry’s paperwork and Rika’s secretarial duties. She’s frighteningly efficient. Rika returns to work pleasantly surprised at her empty inbox, and Larry returns mildly frustrated at his now-organized cubicle.

- Rika and Hassel are immediately on board with the idea. They both had plans to throw Poppy a party of some kind, and honestly still do so she can actually hang out with kids her own age, but the fact that her first choice is to spend the day with them tugs at their heartstrings. Rika affectionately ruffles her hair and Hassel has to excuse himself for a quick cry. As per usual. Larry is harder to convince, though not by much. Poppy attaching herself to his leg like a Komala until he agreed would have worked fine. His coworker's intense - and unnecessary, he already said yes - expressions solidified his answer. Rika and Hassel would probably kill him with hammers if he said no.

- Rika and Poppy are wearing matching outfits. While Poppy’s is an adorable dress, Rika opted for a similar colored t-shirt. It’s more her style. When Hassel arrives wearing his usual ensemble of a sweater vest and tie, Rika jumps at the opportunity to rib him about it. It isn’t until Larry shows up in full work attire that she finds a new target. He steps out of the flying taxi, and Rika doubles over with a sharp bark of a laugh. Instead of clouds, his tie is decorated with balloons. Festive!

- Things go great for the first few minutes. Until the first scare and Rika lets out a startled “Fucking hell!” As Poppy laughs and Rika deflates, Hassel opens his mouth, armed and ready, to give one of his infamous lectures.

- Said lecture is over in record time! Only fifteen minutes, half of which was said while continuing through the attraction and punctuated with several shrieks. Which Poppy finds particularly hilarious.

- Rika reacts to scares by clapping a hand over her mouth before she’s able to let out another crude exclamation. Hassel, despite his deep voice, hits a glass-shattering octave when he gets startled. Larry doesn’t give much of a reaction outside of a full body jolt and a quiet ‘wuh!’. And Poppy doesn’t scream once. She just laughs at the other three, skipping along without a care in the world.

- The day ends with Larry taking the group to a nearby bakery he’s particularly fond of. He happily pays for Poppy and himself, he knows he eats a lot and his bill will be significantly more expensive because of it. Poppy almost beats him. He gets up to get them thirds before Hassel puts a stop to it. She’s still a growing girl and doesn’t need so many sweets. Larry brings her extra the next day.

- While Geeta couldn’t make it, she is sure to present Poppy with a gift of her own. A small cake pop and a commemorative photo she requested from the haunted house. It’s Poppy’s favorite photo and the other three pray one day it’ll get destroyed in a freak accident so she’ll stop showing people.

Mizu sneaks back into bed after successfully finishing her mission: getting a pretty bouquet for her pretty birthday girl. Now under the covers, she turns to look at you. Still fast asleep, her arms wrap your body from behind. She feels you stir awake and hum from her touch.

Mizu hunches over to get a better view of your face. Your eyes flutter open. You look to your left to find Mizu, hair down and looking at you endearingly.

"Happy birthday, baby.", Mizu greets you, giving you a good morning kiss. You smile and kiss her back. "Thank you.", you respond back.

You hook your arms around her neck, attempting to pull her in for more morning kisses. Instead, she stopped you in your tracks.

"Someone left a special present for a pretty birthday girl on the desk."

You looked past Mizu and spotted the vase on the desk, holding your favorite flowers. Your eyes widen in shock. You crawl out of bed and walk over to get a closer look at the bouquet. Laid next to the vase was a note written in Mizu's handwriting.

Good morning and happy birthday baby, it wrote.

You take a deep breath and enter your entire body into the bathtub, enveloping yourself in the warm water that Mizu prepared for you.

"Everything alright?", Mizu asks as she sits next to you outside the bathtub.

miyuki is so interesting because we dont get to see most of what he thinks, but from what we do get to see how he thinks and how he acts is so different like theres strategic purpose behind it mostly but i think especially as the series goes on and he becomes captain like i think that gap only gets bigger... the scene with kuramochi and miyuki in the yips arc where miyuki says two different things like its so insane. also the gay reading of that scene makes me lose my marbles slightly like you gave kuramochi sghit for caring about sawamura when he cant pitch right but truly you do want him back you want to cvatch for him again and like all prioritizing the team over individuals aside you really truly care for him like AHHHHHHHHHHHH..... like i think people who over yaoify dna are weird and gross for the most part but not going to lie they are a little gay. sorry. miyuki in particular like when i go through the dna tags and see so many x reader freaks talkinga bout f!reader x him like girl.. a) he's literally a high schooler be normal im begging b) he would be a terrible boyfriend all he thinks about is baseball basically he doesnt even have other hobbies like sawamura or kuramochi or anyone like that guy is kind of a loser and c) HES SO GAY BRO like did we watch the same anime. that guy is. wait hold on

1. Why did you choose this url?

its sort of like a pun between yall dont know and the fact that, hopefully, sincerely, chanyeol does not in fact know that i run this blog lmao i changed to this after a long time of being bread-jinie and i wanted to rebrand. i will, however, do my best to never change URLs again because the masterlist switch over was a complete hassle

2. Any sideblogs? If you have them, name them and why you have them

i have a fic recs blog called @yeoldontknowiread. as to why i have it, i know it hasnt been updated in ages since ive been kind of on hiatus, but i think reading and sharing work on this platform is immensely important. i actually read quite a lot of fanfiction, and i try my best to share the things i read. im very very behind on recs at the moment cause i try my best to write something substantial for every recommendation i make. as a writer, i know exactly the kinds of thoughts and feedback on fics that make my heart soar so i try to put in the same energy to my recs. community is only fostered when there is reciprocation

3. How long have you been on Tumblr?

hmmm since april 2017. i actually had my 4 year anniversary this year and i did have plans for things but i got roped into real life things and couldnt celebrate the way i truly wanted to :(

4. Do you have a queue tag?

no but sometimes i think i should. i view tags as a library on top of my knee jerk response to things. most of my tags are just my initial thoughts or feelings at any given moment, so those take precedence over a specific queue tag

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

when i was getting into exo, i was reading fanfiction like crazy. i used to write fanfic quite a lot in other fandoms, but at that time i hadnt written anything in about 2.5 years. exo was the first re-introduction to that feeling of excitement and inspiration. after about 3 weeks of straight reading, i decided i wanted to write again. i wrote the prologue to hero in about two hours and tried logging into AO3 to post it. sadly i forgot all of my log in information because it had been years, and was getting frustrated. i really wanted to put it somewhere out of fear that id lose interest if i didnt do something with it, and everything id read had been on tumblr. so i made a tumblr just to put hero lmao i didnt have any mutuals. it was a blog with straight 0. i hadnt even created an account to interact with writers before that moment, i really thought id be a silent reader forever. but exo woke me back up and for that i am eternally grateful.

6. Why did you choose your icon?

the yours music video is...so stunning? like the colour theory throughout the whole thing is truly so inspiring and gorgeous. and this shot of chanyeol looking at the painting took my breath away, truly. tulips and the color of peach, like do you know how evocative that is? ugh

7. Why did you choose your header

my header was made by @jamaisjoons for my birthday this year because shes literally the most talented person when it comes to graphics. and this was so kind of her to do, i cried a lot

uhm....either the body through time or truth i cant remember which but i checked recently and its one of those

tbh i havent used tumblr that often, not since march i think. i used to use it many times a day, checking in on friends and stuff, but once i started focusing on my phd applications i was only here sporadically. i didnt make an announcement either, just let my blog run on queue so i wasnt totally gone. i think i was checking in twice a week or maybe once every two weeks to refill my queue and check mentions etc. but now that my interviews are done im trying to get back on here daily to reconnect

in what context? like, you need to reblog this or your wish wont come true? or like, please reblog this to spread the word/spread awareness, etc? in the case for the former, i scroll right by. in the case of the latter, if im around and see someone raising a go fund me or some major event is occurring and i find a post with good sources or charities i will reblog. mostly though, the full extent my activism isnt really on this blog. its my escape from reality. my activism is usually placed on other platforms.

The Contract was my first Mando fic ever and is my most popular (notes wise) to this day, which is so??? idk i cant find words I really was touched that people liked it so much

Highway Man (biker!mando au) is not my most popular fic notes wise BUT it is the fic i get the most interaction with and thats just as satisfying tbh. to see you guys enjoying it, making art and crafts inspired by it, coming to me with headcanons and ideas AND the commentary for every chapter really makes me so happy and passionate to give you guys more. 

Is your funniest?

I am convinced I’m not that funny BUT i will say Part 7 of Highway Man (spoiler alert ? lol) when Din has a naked socialite strapped to his back via bondage restraints is something that made me laugh out loud when i wrote it. 

Is your darkest/angstiest?

as of right now Slow Dance is the angstiest? I need to work on my angst and dark aspects of my fics, i’m very much afraid to write anything like that because its a weak point for me i think.

it changes obviously, but right now Biker!Mando au hands down.

Sway My Way. It was my first time writing reader-insert fanfic. I adapted the story from an OC x Poe fic I was writing and I think the story is there but I dont think i adapted it well lmao

Was the easiest to write?

Highway Man -- Biker!Mando came upon me suddenly and without mercy lol I have so much worldbuilding in my head that isnt even in the story yet and so many scenarios i want to write them all in. 

Was the hardest to write?

The Leap. It’s part of the contract series, a “how they got together” thing and tbh fitting the entirety of a relationship that i started writing at their marriage and working backwards into a single fic was so fucking hard.

Whoever the hell this person was, he was lucky he was holding a sleeping kid. You were close to snapping. “No one will hire him, everyone in town knows he’s in trouble with the Mandos. No one wants to risk it with him,” you said quickly, “I’m just giving him a chance to prove to people that he can get his act together.”

“Can he?”

Your fists clenched and you took a deep breath, “move, please,” you said quietly.

With a strange sort of lazy swagger in his movement, he pushed off the car and moved only slightly away from your door. You could get in, but not without passing close by to him. If you were honest with yourself, part of you was still intimidated by his presence. He hadn’t tried to hurt you, hell, he didn’t even raise his voice at you once. It was the fact that he knew so much of your family’s business and you had no idea what his name was or what he looked like that made you uneasy. You had no idea what him and the rest of the Mando’s were really capable of.

Finding your courage you moved past him, unlocking and opening the door. After climbing in you heard him speak before you closed the door.

“See you around.”

Biker!Mando -- keeping track of a series like this means i have to go back and reread to make sure im not repeating myself or forgetting little tidbits of foreshadowing

Would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time?

The Opia Series (the contract, the leap and the game). It’s probably some of my most decent work and I think that it really kind of prepares you for my style of writing.

Are you most proud of?

Biker!Mando. I’ve never stuck with an idea this long or planned ahead as well as i have for this fic.
