deck of playing card-sized prints I ordered from artscow just came in a couple days ago! (of this piece)
gonna try handing these out at tennocon this year! I might also order another deck or two since I'm pretty happy with this one (though i might make some adjustments if i have the time who knows)
(oh yeah and these prints are secretly just on the backs of regular ass playing cards cause it's cheaper (and maybe a bit gimmicky?) lmao)
Tumblr media
I was inspired to go with playing cards partially due to people's suggestions on the original art post, but also because of this small outer wilds nomai print I got randomly from Fangamer alongside my copy of Tunic for switch! I just really like the idea of a smaller print having rounded corners I guess (the artist is Elliot Bouriot btw)
Tumblr media
it's very cool I like this outer wilds print a lot :)
idk hopefully it'll be a fun thing to pass around at tennocon, would be cool to try and expand upon the idea in the future though! just might require a lot more work to feel like an actual product if I ever intend on selling this kind of thing lol

If anyone has a spare thought/fuck to give please toss it my way I'm treading the delicate path of sorting out the possible (absolutely likely) fuck ups of a former colleague and explaining to their supervisor that they allowed said fuck ups to continue for far longer than they needed to all for the sake of not wanting to ask questions

Book Rec Request
Has anyone read any nonfiction books diving into details about the electromagnetic field that they’d recommend? (Up to and including text books, as long as they’re intro-ish level.)
I’ve already read Faraday, Maxwell, and the Electromagnetic Field by Nancy Forbes and Basil Mahon, plus Relativity: The Special and the General Theory by Albert Einstein. (Though admittedly I only fully understood ~66% of Relativity. 😂) I’m still looking to read more about the topic!
I gave The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking a read, but it wasn’t really what I’m after. At least for this topic, I much prefer a closer look that digs a bit more into the conceptualization or logistics of an idea as opposed to the "we think maybe XYZ" overview.
Reblogs to spread the word are welcome. ^_^
(And on the spreading-the-word front: @nurgletwh , @ceescedasticity, @ceruleancynic, @prokopetz, @jayrockin, @waywardmartian @ausp-ice @dduane @ryannorth, zero pressure whatsoever, but you strike me as folk who might either have recommendations yourself, or trend towards followers who might in turn!)

My personal goal is to try and make fanfic binding as accessible to everyone as possible, so here are some resources on how to make a fanfic hardcover for under $25.
This is a barebones bind for the broke college students and such. Happy to field questions, too!
Here's a proposed budget breakdown:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loosely organized thoughts:
Fanfic bookbinders often share typesets amongst each other. Never pay for a typeset for a fanfic.
You'll hear a lot about grain direction for your printer paper, but as a newbie on a budget without your own printer, settle for some nice 92 bright or cream colored paper. If you like the hobby, splurge after but expect to pay at least 2-3x more for short grain paper.
Printing is a pain because some copy shops won't let you print intellectual property smut, and it's very expensive. You are better off bartering instead or looking for a free printer on Buy Nothing.
You know the thick paper wrapping that comes with online orders? It's a good weight for endpapers if you need to scrounge. Paper grocery bags or gift bags (birthday presents) might work, too.
Ask your local library to give you covers from books they are throwing out. Ask for outdated textbooks (those covers are built like tanks) or three-ring binders that are too busted to be binders anymore.
Obtain a used book that was mass produced (so your destruction of it does not impede anyone's access) and maybe even become a little vindictive with it.
If you can afford it, I recommend the Olfa SVR knife (~$10)
If you can afford it, upgrade your ruler to a t-square.
(Links to Amazon products above are affiliate links)

I really hope this resource is helpful! I want to stress how possible this is and encourage people to cherish what they love through art.
If you are interested in fanfic binding and have a little more disposable income, I have an affordable Fan Fiction Bookbinding Starter Pack that I carry on my site. I pack them myself and drop them 1x/month on the 15th.

IM TIRED OF BUYING NEW SHIT!!!!
My laptop is only 4 years old. And I have to look for a better one. Which is stupid! I want to buy a laptop that will last generations!!!!! If something breaks I want to be able to replace it without an entire difficult process that is caused by the companies continuing to make things irreparable by the consumer. Stop trying to make me useless to my environment! I want to build and explore and fix! If something needs upgraded I want the companies to allow me to buy said upgrade and replace whatever because outdated without buying a whole new fucking laptop!!!! And I want the laptop to last! I don’t want cheap plastic that breaks before I even touch it!! I want maneuverability!
I want this for everything else btw. I want everything to last as long as it should. Companies are purposely making their products more breakable and less repairable and it’s so stupid. Start selling the parts to repair!!! Make money off of the need for upgrades! Stop making me feel useless to the world when my stuff breaks and I can’t fix it when I remember that my stepdad used to fix everything that broke!
I refuse to buy a modern car because most have to be taken to specific shops to be repaired and are unreasonably difficult to repair at home. I love my shitbox. It’s beautiful the rust gives it personality. And even if I got a laundry list of repairs it needs, I can still REPAIR IT!!!!! I can’t stop FIX IT!!!! I can take it apart and put it back together and theoretically it should still work!!!
I’m tired of everything being the way it is. Modernization isn’t actually modern! It’s just plastic!
I feel like everything I consume is made to make me dumber. The way media and and life is made to be a constant distracting dopamine hit that keeps me stuck for hours learning nothing, the way everything I touch breaks but I have no way to fix it, only able to rebuy everything that breaks instead of repairing and using my brain. I live LEGO because it’s like a puzzle but I hate the price. I love puzzles and I love being able to think and touch and feel that way everything snaps together and how it works, I hate how everything is modernized to make me think less. I like thinking and I hate that I’m being lulled into a since of insecurity and a fast paced mind numbing life. I want to see the sun and touch the grass and use my brain. I’m tired of ai trying to butt into every aspect of my life and think for me. I want the world to stop so I have time to fix this but everyone I try to talk to seems to be blind to this problem and it’s so frustrating.
