Tony - "I like my men tall, dark and handsome"

Stephen - "I thought you liked your men tall, dark and handsome?"

Tony dropped a large binder on the table, glaring at it as he sat down.

Stephen eyed it, but didn’t comment as he flipped a page in his book, resuming his read.

A grumble pulled him out of his reading ten minutes later. Tony had opened the binder and was glaring down at a resume of some sort.

“What are the applications for?” 

Tony let out a low groan. “They’re not… It’s ridiculous.”

Stephen raised an eyebrow in expectation.

Tony caved. “Pepper thinks everything can be solved with the right paperwork.” Tony gestured at the binder. “Including my chronically single status.”

Stephen blinked as he took in the words. “Those are applications to be your boyfriend?” He snagged the binder, ignoring Tony’s protests. He flipped through the pages, taking in the different pictures and skimming through the date-me qualifications. Handwritten notes in Pepper’s handwriting rated each of them. “Should I be offended Pepper didn’t ask me to fill out an application?”

“Be grateful.”

Except now Stephen was bothered. “Does she not think I’d be a good boyfriend for you?”

“You don’t want to be my boyfriend,” Tony pointed out.

“Says who?” Stephen asked. “I’d be better than anyone in this binder.” He paused as he landed on Rogers’ application, rated 9/10. He looked up. “I thought you liked your men tall, dark, and handsome?”

“I do; that’s not—”

Stephen shut the binder. “Give me an application.”

“I— What?”

“To be your boyfriend. I need to fill one out.”

“You’re kidding.”

“No,” Stephen said. He found an empty application at the back of the binder. “I assume the interview process is with Pepper?”

“You’re ridiculous,” Tony muttered. “But yes.”

“Good, I expect I’ll be your boyfriend by the end of the month, then.”

“Ridiculous,” Tony repeated, but he sounded pleased.

the other day i walked around the golden lake w my love and the sun was setting hot and orange and we watched a brown duck preening through the weeds, ducking her head under the dark water. the cool lake swallowed up my tired feet to the ankles and we counted the dog walkers with their curly panting doodles and their handsome german shepherds and their whip smart little terriers and we admired the careful construction of a sand castle whose moat held determinedly against the lapping of the waves. we could feel in our chests the persistent thunderous thumping of celebratory music at the finish line of the lakeside 5k, welcoming each gasping runner across its bounds. and i felt like crying. i felt like curling into myself and crying. we walked through the swamp of the bird sanctuary afterwards and listened to the woods sing and croak and groan and then we went and got ube and yuzu gelato and devoured it suntired and sweating on the couch in our living room. and i was so overcome w a deep and true unshakeable happiness and a sort of confused grief that i wanted to sob and sob and sob.

i wonder if, in another world where sukuna had said yes and yuuji did take blobkuna back with him, they would watch movies together.

sukuna criticizes all of them and seems to be into only the mindless slasher or horror ones (the gorier the better) but one day yuuji puts on something more serious. sukuna complains the whole time as he sits in yuuji's cupped hands, but then the brat stops arguing with him suddenly and goes quiet during the sad part of the film.

it's not the film that moves sukuna. he didn't even bother to pay attention enough to really know what's going on. but for some reason, when yuuji starts crying, hot tears that drip right down on sukuna, the former king of curses can't look away and he doesn't realize until much later that his own eye is wet as well.

he denies it. he makes fun of yuuji for crying. maybe he even licks yuuji's tears off his wrist just to be gross and rile him up. but he can't stop thinking about how close he felt to yuuji in that one moment, almost like they were sharing bodies again, and maybe he would like to go back to living inside of yuuji. if only to make him cry instead of the movie doing it. or maybe he just likes feeling yuuji's emotions. maybe being inside of yuuji is the closest he can come to feeling those emotions for himself. because maybe it's not such a weakness after all.

Waited until I didn't have a BG3 comic queued to post these but it was hourly comics day! I love hourly comics day! I've done it the past 5-ish years and it's fun to 1) have a little annual journal and 2) see what style I decided to draw in that year. 10/10 would recommend!

i think holoforms should have more stuff where they're clearly TRYING to be accurate to humans, but they keep buggering up the details. like when you're drawing and can't keep the light source consistent, or accidentally draw two left hands, or whatever. related: i think that swerve's holoform would probably wear this extremely rad, definitely cool hat.
