So I l’ve been getting into your ko crisis story lately (it all sounds rlly awesome btw) and i was curious - you’ve said in the tags in a previous ask that ash is comphet, so is that gonna play a major role in her character arc/journey in any way?

Yeah, the story basically covers her journey of redefining her identity as a queer Asian-American disabled woman in a sports-entertainment industry, which is a media landscape that specifically targets, exploits, and fetishizes people like her.

Other than ASL, which characters do you like in One Piece? Whether it’s design, story role, personality etc.

I have SO many favorites in one piece it’s kind of difficult to choose lmao

Storytelling wise, outside of ASL and the main crew, I’ve really enjoyed Bonney and Law! Bonney especially with the recent arc in the manga :’) she’s so loved…….

(We don’t talk about Bonney’s canonical design. Or, at least, I won’t. Also whoops I forgot law’s other knuckle tats,,,, ignore that)

Otherwise I also really enjoy Robin (but I’ve drawn her already for another ask hehe) and Koala? But completely for story reasons. I would say there’s probably not a single female character in one piece whose design I fully enjoy just because at times I am convinced that Oda has never actually seen a woman before. But their stories are so incredibly compelling,,,,,,

Visual design wise I kind of enjoy Koby and Helmeppo and how they’ve changed over time! And I absolutely adore Jinbei and Brook and Chopper! Design wise I actually probably most enjoy brook and jinbei, and maybe post time skip zoro? I just think they’re really neat,,,

I think probably part of the reason I enjoy sabo so much is that he’s the only character design that just like. Fully appeals to me. Like I love his character design soooo much it is unreal. But also because he’s such a unique design among the characters (being about the only character with as much screentime as he has that dresses up as a noble) it’s difficult for me to find other characters that I enjoy so much visually. As reprehensible as nobles are in the story of one piece, I tend to especially enjoy characters that are more formally dressed,,,, honestly if they extended that sort of aesthetic to the entirety of the revolutionary army I would probably have a lot more favorite characters lmao

if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models

i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available

ian’s hand is so big that when he rests it on mickey’s stomach as he casually peers over his shoulder, he can cover almost his whole tummy when he spreads his fingers.

*long suffering siiigh* ray... why would you...? listen ughghgh listen!

mickey hums while waiting for his toast to pop up from the toaster. he grabs two mugs and pulls the sugar container closer, in preparation for the coffee that's almost done. his familiar humming coming to a halt when he feels that familiar all-encompassing warmth behind him. when sees long fingers snake around his waist. one hand keeps looping until he's safely secured against his husband's strong chest, while the other stays on his tummy. he closes his eyes and just lets himself be held close by those hands.

warm. big. fingers spreading. taking up so much space there.

ian's breath ghosts on his neck, a little chuckle when he feels a light rumble in mickey's stomach, it's time for breakfast after all. but they've got a few minutes. and so ian's fingertips start digging in, feeling, pressing. in rhythm with his lips below mickey's ear. fingers and lips moving at once, a slow dance. his hand moves up, as his lips move down. up to his chest, down to his shoulders. both meeting, slowly, on mickey's neck. heat spreading - from ian's palm, from his open mouth. and god, that hand! big enough to surround his neck completely. big enough that using his thumb to tilt mickey's head to the side comes easily. allowing his lips to relish on the smooth skin he just uncovered.

fingertips dig, feel, press... lips kiss, lick, suck...

POP!

goes the toast, mickey's eyes, ian's lips.

ian's hand lowers back to mickey's tummy and gives it a few taps, his lips finishing the dance with little pecks on his cheek. "let's feed the beast. i'll get the butter." and, yea, ian's going to feed the fucking beast alright. but mickey can wait until they've had their breakfast. because this. this is just as good.

he squeezes ian's hand and hums while pouring the coffee.
