This post is what inspired this little femalemechanic!reader series I'm going to do so reblogs, comments and feedback are very highly appreciated. Please feel free to send ideas my way or inbox me (even if just for anonymous feedback). Hope you all enjoy!

The sound of wrenches clinking and engines rumbling filled the air at Teller-Morrow, the familiar scent of oil and grease clinging to your skin like a second layer.

The shop had quickly become a second home to you, though you still didn't fully understand the club's inner workings. What you did understand, however, was that the Sons of Anarchy seemed to take an unusual interest in your presence.

At first, you chalked it up to them being friendly.

Jax, for instance, always seemed to be around when you needed something though, in hindsight, you never actually asked for help. "Need a hand with that, darlin'?" he'd offer, even if all you were doing was tightening a bolt. He'd lean against a nearby workbench, arms crossed, watching with an amused smirk.

It was nice that they were all so willing to help, even if it sometimes felt like you had too many supervisors at once.

Opie had a similar habit of being conveniently nearby. He never lingered as obviously as Jax, but he was always nearby. "Just grabbing this," he'd say, reaching for a tool, rag, or something completely unnecessary. He'd stick around longer than needed, watching with that unreadable expression of his.

Then there was Tig. He had no concept of personal space; that much was clear. "Damn, girl," he'd say, leaning way too close for someone who didn't need to be in your workspace. "You sure you weren't born to work on bikes? 'Cause I swear, watching you turn a wrench is the highlight of my day."

You'd roll your eyes, laughing it off. Tig was just like that with everyone.

Even Chibs and Juice had their own ways of hovering. Chibs would tease, calling you lass and finding ways to keep you engaged in conversation, while Juice, sweet but a little awkward tried to get your attention with random trivia or stupid bets with the other guys.

And then there was Happy, who'd just silently walk into your work area and take a seat, watching as you tinker, all while moving that toothpick around in his mouth before stalking off again wordlessly a while later.

It was all a little overwhelming, but you figured this was just how the Sons were—flirty, overprotective, and oddly competitive with each other. Besides, it was nice to feel included. You'd never had this kind of easy camaraderie before in this environment, and you weren't about to question it.

Gemma, on the other hand, saw right through them. She watched it all unfold with a knowing smirk, arms crossed like a mother watching her kids make fools of themselves.

Even Clay seemed amused by the way the guys found excuses to be around you. "Bunch of idiots," he muttered one afternoon, shaking his head as Jax and Juice argued over who got to hand you a wrench before Happy silently handed one to you.

Gemma chuckled. "Let 'em have their fun."

You, of course, remained blissfully unaware that you were the fun.

That all changed the day a customer got a little too comfortable.

You were at the front of the shop, wiping your hands on a rag as you explained the details of a tune-up to a man who had just brought in his car. He was middle-aged, maybe in his late forties, with a cocky smirk that immediately set off warning bells, not that you noticed.

Smiling politely, you handed him the clipboard, explaining the breakdown and keeping your tone professional. "So, with the labor and parts, you're looking at about—"

"You got a pretty face for a mechanic," He interrupted, looking you up and down.

You blinked partly in shock at his audacity and the other in surprise he was so bold in his words. "Uh, thanks?" You tried to steer the conversation back. You were used to men either hitting on you or speaking down to you. "So, if you're good with this, we can—"

"You sure you wanna be doing this?" He smirked, leaning in slightly. "Seems like a waste. A girl like you should be doing something... prettier. A pretty girl like yourself should have a guy taking care of her."

You felt your stomach twist, your grip tightening on the clipboard, trying not to yell at the customer. "I like what I do," you said, clearing your throat and trying to keep your voice even. "Now, if you're good with the estimate—"

He didn't let you finish as his hand slid to your waist, fingers pressing just enough to make your skin crawl. "Come on, sweetheart," he drawled. "maybe I could take you out sometime. Show you what it's like to be treated right. Show you how a real man—"

The hand was gone before you could react. One second, the guy was standing too close, and the next, he was stumbling backward, Jax's fist curled in his collar. The sound of the impact—fabric twisting, shoes scuffing against the concrete—was sharp, final.

Jax's voice was low, dangerous. "You touch her again, you're leavin' in a body bag."

The shop had gone silent. Tools were set down, and chairs scraped against the floor as Tig, Opie, and Juice moved in. Chibs cracked his knuckles, and Happy—who still hadn't said a word—was now staring the guy down with an intensity that made your stomach drop.

The customer, who had, up until now, been cocky and self-assured, realized too late that he had made a very big mistake. His hands shot up in surrender. "Hey, man, it was just a—"

"Get the hell out," Jax snapped, taking a step closer. "Now."

The man didn't hesitate. He turned and practically ran out of the shop, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process, leaving his car behind without a second thought. The moment he was gone, the tension snapped like a rubber band.

It took you a second to realize you were still holding the clipboard in a death grip. You exhaled, forcing yourself to loosen your fingers. Opie was suddenly in front of you; his usual stoic expression softened. "You okay?"

You blinked at him, still processing what just happened. "Uh, yeah. I mean... that was a little intense."

Tig grinned, but there was still something dangerous in his expression. "Welcome to the family, sweetheart. No one touches what's ours."

You frowned at that. "Ours?"

Jax smirked, running a hand through his hair like he hadn't just threatened a man's life. "Don't think too hard about it, darlin'."

You did think about it. For about two seconds. And then you shrugged, figuring it was just their way of saying they had your back, but one thing was clear—this wasn't just a job anymore. These guys weren't just co-workers. They were family, and they had just made one thing very clear.

You are untouchable.

Jax is not a jerk.

Please, hear me out.

TW: mention of domestic abuse.

I’m not here to excuse his actions. If someone does something bad, they should be held accountable. But there’s always a reason behind behavior. No character is “bad just for the sake of being bad.”

I know Jax has done a lot of messed-up things, but give me a chance to explain his actions—maybe you’ll see him in a different light.

Jax has boundaries.

A true villain doesn’t hold back. They’ll do whatever they want without hesitation. But according to the Gooseworx, Jax does have boundaries—there are lines he won’t cross.

I know what you’re thinking about. “But he threw Pomni out of the truck in Episode 2! He left Ragatha ( and Pomni ) behind with a glitching Kaufmo in the pilot! He constantly bullies others!”

But let’s look deeper.

First, remember that his teasing and pranks are a coping mechanism. It’s his way of keeping himself sane.

Second, he never takes things too far. Yes, his actions can be cruel, but when he realizes something genuinely harms someone, he backs off.

Take the pilot, for example. He left Ragatha when Kaufmo glitched out, but why? Because he was scared. Later, we see that Ragatha got “infected” with the glitch.

Now, think about the moment she said, “I am in so much pain!”

Here’s where it gets interesting—recently, in a Japanese billboard ad, there was a small scene where Kaufmo glitches behind Pomni while she’s arguing with Jax. And what does Jax do? He immediately gets nervous and says, “Wanna continue this somewhere else?”

He knows when to stop. He realized that if Pomni also glitched, it would hurt her. That means he does have empathy. He may act cold, but he’s not heartless.

Why does he act this way?

Now let’s re-examine some of his actions.

Remember when he threw Pomni out of the truck?

Or when he cut off her conversation with Ragatha?

Every time he sees others forming connections, it bothers him. Because deep down, he wants that too—but he doesn’t know how to handle it.

Instead of confronting his own feelings, he shuts those moments down. He disrupts conversations, pushes people away, and keeps his distance.

And here’s the key point:

If a parent abuses their child, it’s often because they were abused themselves. (I know this is a terrible example, but it gets the point across.)

If Jax constantly picks on those who are soft, emotional, or vulnerable, it’s because he sees himself in them.

He hates in others what he hates in himself.

And behavior like this doesn’t come out of nowhere.

Someone, at some point, showed him that “messing with people is fine!” Maybe it happened before he ended up in the circus. Maybe it started after. But the fact remains: he does it because someone did it to him.

His teasing and cruelty aren’t “just for fun.”

They’re a defense mechanism, a way to stay sane, and a reflection of his own self-hatred projected onto others.

So, what’s the takeaway?

No, this doesn’t make him a good person. He still does awful things, and nobody has to forgive him for that.

But understanding his actions doesn’t mean excusing them.

All I’m saying is: if we ask “why” instead of just labeling him as “the mean one,” we get a more complex character.

HAPPY ONE YEAR SINCE I BECAME OBSESSED WITH THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS AND FELL IN LOVE WITH JAX!! 💘 ₊˚⊹♡

When The Amazing Digital Circus first came out, I took one look at Jax and intentionally avoided watching the series since I had a feeling I was going to become obsessed with it. When Episode 2 came out in May of 2024, an edit of Jax popped up on my TikTok For You and I heard him speak for the first time and that edit alone made me decide I couldn't resist anymore. That night I watched Episode 1, fell in love with Jax, composed myself enough to brush my teeth and then immediately after watched Episode 2 and the rest was history. I love this series so so so much and over the past year it has brought me so much joy, comfort, love and excitement. I love all of the characters so much, especially Ragatha and Pomni but Jax is my absolute favourite and I knew he would be. His mannerisms and attitude drive me crazy and I get so overwhelmingly excited everytime I see him on screen or see any new promotional material with him, and over the past year I've spent so much time seeking out fan-art, reading fics and engaging with the community about him and my favourite ships. I collect other characters too but I wanted Jax to be the focus of this post since most of my other characters I'm in love with I have been in love with since I was younger so I couldn't pinpoint the exact day I fell in love with them, but I know that date with Jax so I can celebrate it! I'm so blessed to have built up my collection of him, with a combination of officially licensed items and fan-made merch. Many of the items were made for me by one of my best friends Jo and I am so grateful she took the time to design and make them for me, and I will forever treasure them (A huge thank you Jo if you're reading this for supporting my obsession!!). I also have to thank my sister Sarah for getting me the official Jax keychain plush for Christmas!! I love and adore all of the items in my collection, but my absolute favourite is the official Jax plush in the middle who I have slept with almost every night since I got him. I'm so excited to learn even more about him as the show progresses!! 💜

hiii! Could I just say that I absolutely love your writing and they way you describe jax? I love your writing style as well. So-

Could you write a jax x reader where the reader is very sensitive and prone to crying? Like they have a super loud and bold personality, kind of like jax, so you'd think a few mean words wouldn't affect them right? Wrong. They're actually super sensitive and can cry easily. Like maybe if jax were to get into a fight with reader and maybe takes it too far?

warnings(s): Jax, insults/name calling, nondescriptive arguments, angst (I tried to balance it out with some fluff in the second half) note(s): Jax is a noticeable ass in the first half of this, honestly Jax is his own warning A/N: I truthfully believe that his reaction would heavily depend on whether the two of you were just two people trapped here vs in a relationship of some sort. I don't want to post him being only an asshole, so I included his response/reactions if you were his s/o as well. (Also thank you for the kind words! 💜)

It doesn’t take you long to learn Jax’s disregard for the emotions of others. His blatant disregard for Gangle’s tears and Pomni’s little panic attacks that he only eggs on are proof enough.

Jax would’ve never suspected you to be sensitive given your loud and bold personality, he’s never noticed the subtle change in your posture or behavior when you get insultingly clumped in with the rest—or if he did notice, he never said anything.

A fight with Jax is a one-sided fight, he’ll throw some backhanded question about why you were suddenly being a crybaby, an unfunny joke about how you must’ve taken Gangle’s tragedy mask when he wasn’t looking.

“Look it’s not that big of a deal, I don’t know why you’re getting all bent out of shape.”

Jax is an ass through and through, he’s not trying to gaslight you into believing you’re crying over nothing, he genuinely believes you’re making a big deal out of nothing. It’s just words.

Again you are aware of just what kind of person Jax is—that said you are given some leniency to his awful behavior, unlike the others you have a special place in his chest cavity

As mentioned above he never really suspected you to be sensitive, though he can sort of piece two and two together when your behavior changes or if you just up and outright walk away.

Seeing your eyes water is definitely an indicator that what was said may have offended you in some manner.

Jax isn’t good with this sort of stuff, does he approach you and ask about it? Or does he just ignore it and let you come to him?

Ah, fuck…

It’s not that he doesn’t care that he upset you, but he’s just a tad confused about why you are suddenly upset.

The whole thing gets even messier when the two of you get into a fight. To him, this “fight” isn’t a big deal, when you mention that it’s something he said callously, he’s reminded of the times you walked away seemingly upset.

It takes him a few minutes to compose his thoughts and word himself carefully enough to avoid making the situation any worse, it’s one of the rare times you’ll get him to be more genuine and serious to work this out.

Afterward, he makes the effort to remember not to say or do certain things that particularly upset you. Though it’s tough, sometimes that shit just comes out with no filter, and whoops there he goes saying the thing he told himself he wasn’t going to say with you around.

None of it is ever directly aimed at you though, he can do that much at least.

On the occasion that something minor slips he’ll apologize later on, sigh, and give you a hug. Hugs don’t fix everything but they do get you to stop crying. (This is usually only during cases where you get choked up levels of sensitivity, like, a dog in a movie died and that’s a sad kind of sensitivity.)

On the topic of crying, Jax playfully (genuine) pokes fun at you when you cry over something minuscule. He’ll tease and ask if it’s a hobby crying over the little things—again not maliciously, if anything it’s kinda cute. (You are allowed to take a smack at him if his teasing is too much, he probably deserves it.)

I’m gonna post this because every time I’ve seen why ep 3 of TADC explains the reason why. I apologize that my abstracted glitch effects don’t look good enough. I’m going to keep finishing Chapter 1 and let you all know. In case you wanna know what Jax is writing, he used his red finger paint writing on his wall to write about his horrible mistakes, tragic, and terrible past. So I was thinking, I think it’s in season 6 Bobby and Tara are taking and Bobby said something about Jax needs her (I can’t quite remember what he said) anyway back to my thinking… I think Jax needed someone outside of his world, someone who had nothing to do with anything Club, TM, St Thomas, any of the guys or friends/family of the Club… maybe even outside of Charming. I feel he needed to be with someone who didn’t want or need anything from him other than for Jax to be Jackson.

***This is a totally different thing*** I’ve said this in a post on instagram but the SOA chick that ran the account with a total bitch and had a huge go at me.

But in season 5 when Tara gets him the drug to kill Clay she calls him Jackson…. And yes I know it’s his name but I feel she used Jackson cause that’s who she wanted to come back to her and get her and their boys out, where I feel Jax is the Club.

What’s the story of how they met? What is your OC like? What is Jax and their dynamic?

Awww you’re way too sweet!! 💜 Yes, drawing does take me hours at a time for each piece, but I love to share consistent content! Thank you for taking the time to type that out because it really means a lot to me :)

As for your questions at the end:

1. What’s the story of how they (Jax and Keilani) met?

- Well my comic is not entirely canon since I created it off a whim with no clear goal in mind but there’s a glimpse of their meeting on parts 1-6. I would like to think that once Kei joined the circus, everyone is meeting her and introducing her (her being clueless and neutral) and Jax being the last one to meet her since not wanting to see anymore newbies. I imagine it a star struck moment, a silent connection they both don’t acknowledge.

2. What is your OC like?

- Keilani is a very laid back, charismatic type of person. She is typically down to earth and will usually tell you how it is unless she feels the need to be empathic or show some sympathy. She’s not the first to help someone if they’re in need of it, but rather helps if approached quietly about a situation (she’s secretly motivational and sweet, but she doesn’t like to show this side). She likes to tease and make lighthearted fun of the others but will never go as far as to pranking. For Caine’s adventures, she’s not very thrilled about them but does them regardless with curiosity and wonder.

3. What is Jax and their dynamic?

- I like to think that Kei and Jax have an enemies to friends to lovers, type of dynamic. I see their relationship as slow growing where they both enjoy each others company because of their similarities. I like to think that Jax makes fun of Kei often because of her short height or how she dissociates often. So think if best friends were lovers, that’s these two for me 💜

WHAT JAX IS HIDING IN HIS ROOM?

As we know, Jax’s room is the only one we haven’t seen yet. Yes, we’ve seen Zooble and Pomni’s rooms in the show, but even from the merchandise since the pilot, we could spot backgrounds of everyone’s rooms… except for Jax’s. So, what is he hiding?

Here are 3 theories. The first one seems the most plausible to me, the second one came to me after the pilot, and the third one is more of a fan theory I’ve seen circulating around.

1. Jax keeps mementos from other characters.

In the pilot, we see him carrying a bowling ball from Kaufmo’s room to his own. This bowling ball is also visible in the merchandise. He has keys to all the other circus members’ rooms. We even remember him saying in the pilot that he left a centipede in Ragatha’s room and that he got keys everywhere, and you've all been fine.

Imagine if he has mementos from all the other characters, even the scattered ones he knows. Maybe a “part” of Zooble, Kinger’s pillow, Gangle’s drawing, Kaufmo’s bowling ball, for example and etc.

This idea was sparked by a scene in episode 2, at Kaufmo’s funeral, where someone left flowers and someone else left a drawing (Gangle, for instance). What if, after everyone left for their rooms and fell asleep, Jax went to Kaufmo’s “makeshift grave,” left a personal item connected to him, and expressed how he missed him and partly blamed himself for Kaufmo’s death?

Oh, sorry, we kind of went off on a tangent here… I’ll be doing a separate post on that topic! Sometimes my thoughts just wander 🤗

2. His room is full of keys.

In my mind, this would look like a huge wall covered with piles of keys, possibly with some notes about where they’re from. Some might be mementos, others just for fun. At the very least, they’d be from other characters’ rooms (Ragatha’s, Kaufmo’s), and maybe even from doors in the kingdom (episode 2). At the most extreme, he could have keys to secret rooms or even the exit. Who knows?)

3. Void.

In the pilot, “void” just represents literal emptiness. It’s a blank digital space. The merchandise also features fragments of this empty space, almost like an “unfinished room.” While I don’t really believe in this theory, I don’t understand why Jax would have an unfinished room. For my theories, I always try to find meaning and answer the question why. But here, I just don’t see the meaning. Either I’m blind, or it simply isn’t there¿

In any case, as I’ve said before, I accept all theories and never completely dismiss anything.

Bio: Her first arrived in the digital circus when she was lucky to have new friends. Her habits are ball pits. She likes making funny jokes, throwing parties.
