Ok 2 things

So this screenshot of the promo, 2 things I'd like to point out (because i haven't seen anyone else say anything)

Ok so first we see a circle with some small shapes surrounding it, the circle is crossed out. This immediately made me think of both the teleportation symbol (glyph? Or whatever sort of magic the collectors use perhaps) from edge of the world and the spinny circle thing from elsewhere and elsewhen. (At a stretch, perhaps even the draining spell, but u don't think this is likely). The first option, especially the first, tie into the other collectors pretty well which could be showing our collector showing a disdain for them and is actively against them which I think up until now has only ever really been implied (correct me if im wrong). Alternatively if it represents the spinny circle thing it could be the collector saying something about his imprisonment in the in-between, we only ever see that circle when he's trapped in there.

HOTD 1x07 was where I knew I would be Team Hightower forever. Team Green. I wanted to get my opinions out about That Scene.

Lest we forget, Aegon and Helaena were in the room there. Aemond's eye had been ripped out and nobody gave a fuck. Those children watched their mother, the Queen of Westeros be forced to cry and beg their father for some sort of justice, beg for their Father to give a shit once in their lives. Those three were confronted with the fact that their father not only let the one who ripped out Aemond's eye go free but defend their older sister's mistakes. They had to listen as he threatened to rip out the tongue of people who spoke the truth. The king of Westeros would mute people, his own family who spoke the truth. Imagine what his children would've thought of that? What would Aemond think, who refused to rat on his mother? What would Aegon, with alcoholism already, who had just been blamed by Aemond, screamed at by Viseys and slapped by Alicent think, after he too showed a brother's solidarity for the first time and also refused to tell on her?

For the first time we see a correlation between the Green brothers for their traumatised, gaslit mother against the king in the face of this Injustice. They alongside Helaena realised that in this world they could only trust themselves, as they watched the proof of their mother willingly drawing blood from the Princess for her children. Aemond's step into power here and his calmness sets the way for his role as the family's protector in the future, comforting his mother after she fought for him. You could feel that this was the moment the Green Siblings stepped away from their childhoods, however unwillingly.

I honestly. Love the way that the phrase "friendship is magic" is approached in the mlp universe. Like it *literally is* just like conjuration or divination might be. It's the magic that controls the homeostasis of the universe at large, and is therefore arguably the most powerful and important whilst also being the most mundane. If the friendship and comraderia is at a high level, things that are a given constant stay. Well. Constant. If the animosity and hatred is too high those constants?? GO AWAY. magic isn't always as reliable, food stops growing, the weather is no longer controllable? Imagine if we had too many wars going on earth and suddenly things like that stopped happening. Friendship literally is what makes the ponies in mlp. Well. Magical. Without friendship they would be just like regular horses.

Fucking tumblr!! *grabs tumblr and aggressively shakes it*

Some new hell update has made it so every time I reblog a post, i go right back to the top of my dash and have to scroll half a mile through the posts Ive already seen to get back to the ones i havent yet seen and want to see!! And even with the scroll bar it takes ages and breaks the loading and makes it nearly genuinely unusable!!!

But Im still going to even though it sucks, because tumblr is my designated scroll and look at characters time and be with mutuals. And yes this is a very small whiny thing to rant about, especially given the state of the damn world, but with the rest of my life imploding in many numbered crisises that even one of would be apparently considered a fairly major thing to have to deal with im now realsising because through massive amounts of avoidance id just gone "this is fine" despite being very reasonably banned from the word fine by 5 different people and then me, and then others going 'wow that really is alot' semihorrified, and I awkwardly laugh because i am used to this and its not that bad and whatever stupid shit i tell myself to keep going.

So yes, whining about tumblr because at this point its a load bearing coping mechanism. And its somewhat a last straw because i am barely hanging on as it is but ill deal with this like everything else because there isnt any other options.

point is why did the "doctor kisses all their companions" rule live until there was a possibility that said kiss would mean them being in a gay relationship. why did they suddenly decide they never wanted to be that close to anyone again. like yeah obviously it's fine and understandable for the character to not want to have to lose someone again but why did the show choose this instance to make her resist love and die alone and unkissed when it was a wlw story instead of a straight one.

frothing at the mouth. ahem. OK so im gonna be SO normal.

Moths. just. moths as a metaphor. (you couldnt tell based off the fact i have done this one TWO separate occasions with zero relation to one another.)

Things about the sky being wrong. especially in cases where its representing a character's relationships. (yeah thats anothero ne....)

A TROPE. Unconventional soulmates. like soulmate aus but where theyre either not romantic or otherwise subverted

Are wingfics considered a trope. Because yeah. (also broken/missing wings/dead birds as metaphors. these go hand in hand)

Fire. Metaphor for literally so many things.

i’m so frustrated with people’s lack of common sense about wildlife. if you’re interacting with wildlife, you’re not having your disney princess moment. you’re not forming a magical bond. that’s a wild animal who is potentially terrified; maybe it’s curious if it’s young enough, but that just means you should minimise interactions as much as possible to make sure that animal lives a normal life. if your kid comes in holding a wild animal, don’t pick up your fucking phone to videotape it. bring the animal back outside and educate your kid to leave animals alone. you know what happens when you take in wildlife as a “pet”? either you keep it and do damage because even though it’s “tame” it’s a wild animal who is in no way meant to live in that setting unless it’s being kept by a trained and licensed rehabber who knows the housing and feeding requirements (and even then i’ve seen some who are keeping animals irresponsibility), or it ends up at a wildlife rehab when you inevitably harm it enough that you don’t know what to do, or when no vets see you, or when the animal becomes too aggressive for you to handle. and then we either figure out how to rehabilitate an animal whose temperament and/or body you have massively damaged or we euthanise it because the damage is too extensive. start treating wildlife like wild animals rather than a dog or cat. they’re not pets, they’re not domesticated, leave them alone and let them live happy lives as they’re supposed to.
