Trust. It isn’t easily given, nor is it easily accepted. He was the first person she trusted in Eorzea. She doesn’t know how or why, but she did. She took that risk. In the years that followed, there was a time when their friendship had disintegrated to such a degree that it was a stab to the gut, and all they knew was how to twist the knife deeper. Even then—even through that—she trusted him. Trusted him when they were both broken and stupid and fuelled by spite and hate and grief. The faith she has in him is a different kind now. Stronger, implicit, as natural as drawing breath. When they are in the thick of it, he is her guardian and she his shield. She trusts him. Even when he is being impetuous and stubborn and a fool. Even when he has no regard for his own well-being. When sacrifice is a word that comes terrifyingly easily to his mind.   She knows he will do the right thing. And she will be there, to pick him up when he is broken, just as he has done for her. Come what may, she will be there.

Mermay day 2: Carnivorous

Horror is eating a fish and there is blood so i'm putting the drawing below the cut at the end of the drabble tw blood mention for the drabble thing. again cause dead fish ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack was standing on the deck of the Dolphin. It was a quiet night and to put it simply he was quite bored. His friend had had dragged him out here to go stargazing or something. Jack hated the ocean to say the least, not the water itself per say but what was in it. Call him paranoid but he didn't want to be anywhere near a place where a fish bigger than he was and had rows of sharp teeth could get near him.

well at least it was pretty quiet aside from the sounds of waves. But the more Jack listened the more he thought he heard something a little off... Not something he could quite place but it drew his attention to an area to the right of the boat where he was standing.

several yards out Jack thought he saw a shape jutting out of the water. Taking out a flashlight he shined it at whatever the object was. He should probably tell his friend if the Dolphin was heading towards some rocks. the boat sinking was among the worst possible outcomes of this trip.

He froze terror rising as he saw what exactly was in the water. There was indeed rocks up ahead but the creature sitting on one 10 yards off. A skeletal beast with gore dripping from it maw and a glowing red eye burrowing into jack's soul. the corpse of some large fish freshly killed and in the process of being devoured.

Jack shook it was like his worst fears come true. in his panic he dropped the flashlight as he was left in momentary darkness in his scramble to pick the thing back up. He heard a splash before finally pointing the beam back at the rock.

The creature was gone.

Horror squinting at the bright thing being flashed in his face: can't a mer get the midnight munchies in peace >:(

I still wish we’d gotten Harrow react to the eighth being middle school bully’s to Gideon when they kicked her out of the lunchroom.

Like I know they weren’t getting along great at that point but you just KNOW Harrow would have started a fucking war about it. She’d have such a good mixture of being pissed about the diss about the Ninth House and the disrespect to Gideon (because she’s first cavalier and totally not for any other reason) that I think she’d just straight up kill him.

the almost people establishes that the doctor is the person that amy holds in the highest regard and that she will not accept anyone that isn’t him, that she will be outright hostile to anyone who commits the crime of not being him enough. and this episode also tells us that the doctor will take her devotion and he will use it against her. and she’ll forgive him for it.

yep -- the same guy from the spongebob musical, and my posts abut the spongebob musical.

he blew up completely and now the general public knows him as 'ariana grande's new boyfriend' - their relationship seems to have started off the back of co-starring in the upcoming wicked musical film adaptation.

it's just been like. a monkey's paw curling sort of a way for him to get catapulted to fame, as i had always really enjoyed him as a performer (as spongebob, yes, but also in the other roles i'd seen him in,) and my biggest hope back around 2017 was that he would continue in and be really successful in theatre, get a lot of broadway roles, maybe take on some existing parts i thought he'd really suit, like seymour in little shop or ogie in waitress.......... but instead he booked the role of boq from wicked in a massive hollywood film production instead, where he met ariana grande. THE ariana grande.

and then yeah. at some point, he and grande broke up with their respective partners, (slater leaving both his wife AND newborn son) jumped into a new relationship, and now the whole wider internet knows who he is but certainly not for the right reasons.

there's been speculation regarding whether or not grande and slater had cheated on their previous partners before their relationship began with various sources coming out of the woodwork saying "yes they did" and others saying "no they didn't" -- humans are all perfectly capable of making stuff up, the media especially, so i simply don't know who to trust and i admit it had completely shattered my whole good impression of him - PLUS it gave the wider internet an absolutely awful first impression of him, resulting in, yeah, the (frankly, unflattering, sometimes downright cruel) memes of him popping up on twitter and, as i discovered yesterday, in non-theatre youtubers' videos who would literally never have heard of him if not for the slater-grande romance 🥲
