# YOU ARE IN LOVE
pairing: paige bueckers x photographer!reader
word count: 2177
warnings: none !
summary: the picture-perfect story of your love.
⭑ from lani: i kinda love this 🤭 i hope ygs do too 🤍
masterlist !
THE FIRST ENCOUNTER you had with paige was something out of a romantic comedy. like all the best love stories, it all started with paige practically running you over.
———
you watched intently as marquette player, liza karlen, was quickly bringing the ball up the court. uconn scrambled to get on defense but it looked like the golden eagle was about to get a wide-open layup for the lead.
it all happened so quickly - one second you were snapping pictures of the scene in front of you, the next you were tumbling to the ground.
for about half a second, you were laying on the wooden floor behind the baseline. but almost as soon as you registered the fall, you were being pulled to your feet.
“oh my god, i’m so sorry,” a voice apologizes, “are you good? are you hurt?”
you straighten yourself up before lifting your head to glance at the person talking to you, and of course, it was none other than paige bueckers. as you gazed into her light blue eyes, you saw hints of concern and guilt in them.
“hello? are you okay?” she repeats, waving a hand in front of your wonderstruck face.
realizing you were staring, you stutter, “yes- sorry, i’m good. are you good?”
you look around, realizing that one of the teams had called a timeout after presumably a massive defensive block on paige's part.
“i just body slammed you and you’re asking me if i’m good?” paige laughs.
“hey we can’t have you getting injured, you got a chip to win for us,” you joke, laughing with her.
“right,” she smirks, “well, i’m glad you’re okay. we need our prettiest photographer getting the best flicks.”
you don’t miss the way she winks at you before jogging over to her teammates in their huddle. you let out an airy giggle as you watch the blonde get lectured by her coach, her hand nervously rubbing the back of her neck.
it was the shortest of interactions, but it had you buzzing with adrenaline, excitement. you replay the exchange, your mind focusing on the way she said “we,” as in her and her teammates.
but was that really what she meant? you had never talked to any of the women on the team, there was never the right time or place.
as you begin to overthink and let your mind wander, you are alerted back to the present when the buzzer signals the end of the timeout. you could worry about paige and her flirty comment later, but right now you had a job to do - get “the best flicks.”
“ no proof, not much, but you saw enough “
———
so that was the first time you had ever talked to paige. it was nothing short of awkward and confusing, but it repeatedly played in your mind like a broken record.
the next time you conversed with the blonde was more…more. you didn’t exactly know what to call it, but let’s just say it left you with a bit of a crush on the basketball player.
———
you were about to start packing up your camera gear as you wore a huge smile on your face. uconn was going to the final four. they had just survived southern california - it was an insanely entertaining game.
with juju watkins and paige bueckers matching each other’s energy and skill, the arena was buzzing with anticipation the whole night.
you were a uconn senior and you couldn’t have more love for your school. it was where you were getting your bachelor’s in digital communication and media, where you truly fell in love with photography, specifically sports photography.
just as you were about to put your camera in your bag, a voice caught your attention.
“hey!” you look up to see paige bueckers, once again, making her way over to you.
“uh, hi?” you greet with furrowed eyebrows, not entirely sure why the girl was trying to talk to you.
“you were the one i bumped into, right? in that game against marquette?” paige asks.
huh, you think, she actually remembers.
“yeah that was me,” you answer.
“thought so,” she smiles before reaching a hand out to dap you up, “i don’t think i got your name, though.”
“it’s y/n,” you grin, swiping your hand against hers.
“so, y/n, did you get any good flicks tonight? specifically of me?” paige smirks as she points to your camera.
“i mean, i got some sick ones of nika, not sure about you, though,” you tease with a shrug.
“you got jokes tonight, cute,” the blonde rolls her eyes playfully.
“c’mere, i’ll show you,” you laugh in surrender.
as you turn your camera back on and begin clicking through some of the pictures from the game, paige sneaks one of her large hands onto your waist as she stands tall beside you.
you feel her arm draped over your lower back with her hand loosely grasping your sweater as her eyes are focused on the small screen of your camera.
you look up at her, only now realizing how close you were to each other. your shoulder brushes against hers as she feels you staring, tilting her head to look down at you.
your breath hitches when her eyes meet yours, a sly grin plastered on her face as she scans over your face. you watch as her gaze lingers on your lips, then on the chain hanging from your neck.
it was like there was some sort of magnetic pull between you two, something that was undeniable, unbreakable.
maybe it was the way you would occasionally lock eyes with paige through your camera, the growing connection flowing from the court, through your lens, and into your soul.
maybe it was the way every single picture you took of paige somehow managed to be your best, how you found her to be your own good luck charm in such a short span of time.
or maybe it was the way paige subconsciously looked for you before every game, searching for that familiar face that she had grown to find comfort in during the chaotic haze of a game.
whatever it was, it remained a common thought in each of your minds.
each wordless interaction, each unspoken acknowledgement, each silent appreciation - it was like you two needed each other in ways you couldn’t say with words.
“ no proof, one touch, but you felt enough “
———
when you were with paige, it felt weird. not in a bad way, but in an interesting way. time never seemed to function properly when you were in the presence of the blonde.
you could be chatting with her before a game, wishing her luck, and it would feel like you knew her your entire life.
she could be sitting on your bed as you edit your pictures, rambling about the randomest aspects of her day, and it would feel like she had done this every time she felt lonely or lost.
or in a more literal sense, she could treat you to a late-night frozen yogurt run for all of twenty minutes, but it felt like decades the way you two talked about everything under the sun.
you could go on a two-hour long sunrise walk with her before she had to go to practice, but it would only feel like five seconds considering she had to leave you.
in each of these instances, you and paige had managed to build a bond of insurmountable gravity. you deemed each other to be best friends, but it was a disgrace to the fate of the universe that you were nothing more.
paige felt it in her chest that the status of your relationship wasn’t what it was made to be. your own friends did, as well, but paige would be the one to make you fully realize it.
———
as you hopped into paige’s car, you sat comfortably in the passenger’s seat, but there was an unfamiliar vibe in the atmosphere. you turned your head to the blonde behind the steering wheel, finding her staring blankly out the window.
“you okay there, p?” you laugh nervously.
“uh, yeah, i’m okay,” she says quietly.
as nice as paige was, she was never the type to stay quiet around people she cared about. not unless something was bothering her.
“you know you can talk to me, paige. it’s me.”
turning to face you, her face softens when she observes the genuine concern on your face. she tilts her head slightly, dragging her eyes over your delicate features as if she wanted to memorize the harmony of them by heart.
“paige?”
“yeah, um…” she starts, “i actually do wanna talk to you.”
“i’m listening,” you reassure, placing a hand over hers resting on her leg.
“you’re my best friend, y/n. and i’d like to think i’m yours…”
“mhm..” you nod along, unsure where this was going.
“but i don’t wanna be. your best friend, i mean…”
you’re taken aback by this, “what? you...don’t wanna be friends anymore?”
“no, i don’t, but-“
“that’s why you called me here? to end our friendship?” you accuse, slowly becoming angry with confusion.
paige laughs at how quick you were to defend your bond, brushing a loose hair out of your face. you look at her with furrowed eyebrows, still completely lost as to what her point was and why she was laughing.
“if you just let me finish what i’m tryna say…” she says, waiting for your confirmation to continue. you nod, the blonde mirroring your nod before speaking, “i don’t wanna be your best friend…’cus i wanna be your girlfriend. if you’ll let me?”
your eyes widen slightly in shock, not expecting those words to come out of her mouth. your heart rate picks up as you register what she’s actually saying. you can’t help but stare at paige with your lips parted as you think of how to respond.
“y/n? can you say something? please?” she asks softly, begging almost, as she tries to decipher your reaction.
after a beat of silence (a common theme in your relationship), you finally answer, “i’d really like that, paige.”
she lets out a breath of relief she didn’t even know she was holding in. her shoulders relax as the tensity in them melts away at your words.
“yeah?” she smiles.
“yeah,” you nod, “but only if i get to be your girlfriend.”
“i think imma take that deal,” she laughs before swiftly placing her lips on yours.
you found yourself once again appreciating the tranquil environment, the calm embrace. it reflected how your blossoming relationship with paige didn’t need to be put into words.
mostly because you understood each other on such an emotional and spiritual level, but also because you couldn’t do it justice if you tried.
so you told your story with pictures, your own photographs. images that would last a lifetime in the eyes of your love.
“ one step, not much, but it said enough “
———
all of which brings you to now. it’s been exactly one year since paige had officially asked to be your girlfriend. she surprised you with a date at a drive-in movie, one that was playing some romantic silent film from the early 1900s.
as you sat in the bed of your older brother’s pickup truck (the one that paige had to secretly kidnap for the night), you admired the serenity of the scene surrounding you.
fellow viewers talking in hushed voices, other lovers tangled up in comforting embraces, faint humming from the film rolling as it projected onto the large white sheet, the feeling of your girlfriend’s heart beating against you as you laid on her chest.
there was nothing that could make this moment better.
“i love you, y/n,” you hear paige whisper into your hair.
okay, maybe there was something that could make it even better.
you sit up from your spot nestled into the blonde, facing her and looking into those blue eyes you had always treasured. there was nothing but pure adoration and sincerity behind them.
your heart swells like music at the end of the third act in a romantic comedy. you’re grinning widely at the girl sitting in front of you as your hands come up to brace either side of her face.
your lips meet hers in a deep kiss, one that says everything that needs to be said and more. but, of course, it doesn’t hurt to say it out loud officially.
“i love you too, paige,” you smile against her lips, “so much.”
it felt so perfect, everything about it was perfect.
the way her lips locked with yours as if they were destined to fit there. the way it wasn’t some big, loud gesture. the way it was the middle of the night when the world was at its quietest, the way the lights of the outdoor theater and along the sidewalks were dimmed to glow just right.
the way it was so unapologetically you and paige.
“ you are in love, true love “

pairing: girlfriend f! reader x basketball player! jake
word count: 2k+
contents: smut,, lots of it. oral (giving & receiving), unprotected sex (do not free willy y’all.), light slapping, semi-public scene, light biting, let me know if i missed anything
Tumblr media
jake dribbled the ball across the court, his jersey hanging off his body loosely as beads of sweat trickled down his face.
he was already way past tired, in for a majority of the game and scoring a good portion of the points. time running down on the timer as he debates whether or not he has enough time for one last layup. the large red numbers reading 13 seconds, and sure he isn’t that far, standing around the three-pointer line, but the sight of you waiting on the bleachers while clutching the pompoms in your hands is enough to distract him for just a couple more moments. only being brought back to earth when the sound of his teammates back on the bench yell at him to ‘get a fucking move on already’.
shaking his head to get back into the game, he realizes it’s now or never and makes his final shot. the whole gymnasium goes silent for a moment, watching as the ball spins off the tips of his fingers and hurdles toward the hoop.
he swears he can see you clutch the plastic material between your fingers even tighter. not bothering to see if the ball is going to go in. more focused on seeing his pretty girlfriend stare off with a certain glow in your eyes, and he knows that he’s scored when he sees your face go from anticipation to relief. turning your head towards him and locking eyes before his team swarms him and drags him away into the crowd.
【☆】★【☆】
your back hits the cool material of the lockers a hiss leaves your lips in response, jake quickly hushing you with a suffocating kiss. rushed and messy, but his plush lips feel so right against yours.
"so pretty, made it so hard to focus the entire time.”  his hands move up to grope at your chest, mentally cursing at the thick fabric of your uniform stopping him from feeling your hardened nipples. his tongue dances with yours for a split second letting you have fun before quickly overpowering yours. he revels in the fact that sometimes it’s a bit harder for you to keep up. adoring the sounds leaving the back of your throat as you practically choke on the mixture of saliva the two of you are creating.
he lets his tongue return to his mouth, pulling back and watching the strings of spit hold the two of you together for just a moment longer.
“did so good for me today,” brushing a strand of hair behind your ear and taking in your flushed appearance. “cheering and looking cute, all for me right?” he watches you almost helplessly nod, your eyes big and empty while he’s hardly done anything.
his hands cupping the backside of your thighs before he gives you the signal to jump up. you wrap your legs tightly around his waist, feeling his cock press against the front side of your cunt.
“come on tell me you want it.” he doesn’t let you properly respond, his mouth coming back into contact with your own as you whine out how badly you want him, his mind filling with all the things he wants to do to you.
he turns around and lies you on top of the plastic bench, right in the center of the changing room. he straddles the piece of plastic and pulls your legs over his, maneuvering your body and making it possible to press his groin against yours. he drags his hips down, placing a heavy amount of pressure against your thinly covered cunt.
“i could fuck you full right now.” kissing down the side of your neck and massaging your clit over the clothing. your back arches up at the flick on your clit, a soft chuckle leaving his lips.
he removes himself from under you and sinks to his knees, pushing his face into your cunt. inhaling deeply and taking in your scent, moaning against your safety shorts. you look down to see him turning his face, taking a deep bite into your plush thigh, marking your cunt as his.
and then there’s a banging on the locker room door.
“coach left me to lock up, get the fuck out of here!” leaving you to dust off your skirt and have a walk of shame past the team’s captain, your hand interlocked with jake’s as you both mutter out an apology.
“…. sorry heeseung.”
【☆】★【☆】
"gosh, that was so embarrassing.” you bury your face into your hands, spinning around in your vanity chair as you reflect on the moment. “i don’t think i’ll be able to look at him after that..”
jake walks in front of you, squatting down and massaging your thighs. taking a moment to thumb at the sore bite he left.
“why don’t you let me make it up to you?” a not-so-sweet smile on his face. “let you cum on my tongue.”
he shimmies you out of your safety shorts, groaning at the sight of your thin thong being pressed between your lips. he immediately dives in, not bothering to remove the material since he finds it much hotter to eat you through them. his fingers play with the rim of your cunt, slipping in every so often but never sliding fully in.
“so wet, trying to suck me right up.” your fingers find solace tangled within his hair, harshly tugging and leaving his scalp sore.  “can’t believe i had to wait for this.”
his lips wrap around your clit, playing with the sensitive bead while his fingers shallowly fuck you. the sounds of your whines progressively getting louder make him smirk against your heat, knowing that you’re almost near your climax.
pushing his digits just a bit deeper before curling them against the spot. your legs come together, burying jake under your skirt as you fight back cumming so quickly.
“yunie please~”
“please what?”
“i wanna cum please.”
“mm, good job angel~” the term leaves his lips so lightly and with much endearment while he slaps your cunt a couple of times while curling his fingers repeatedly inside of you, rubbing against your g-spot perfectly and leaving you practically shaking around him.
“i don’t think this is enough. you deserve so much more, could hear you shouting for me the whole game.” he licks around his fingers that are still plunged into your cunt, letting your juices drip down onto his tongue. “my sweet girl.”
jake pulls away, ready to scoop you up and take you over to the bed but you quickly stop him. walking over to the bed while sliding off your top and lying down on the mattress, leaving your head to dangle off the edge.
“use me.” your tone was too much for him to deny, his adam’s apple bobbing in his throat.
“you’re a fucking angel.” rushing to remove his clothing and meet you.
he stares in awe as you lay there with your mouth wide open. gripping his hot length and slapping it against your forehead.
he laughs lightly, amazed at how gone you are. watching as your eyes slightly cross in a bad attempt to eye at his cock.
“don’t hurt yourself pretty, i’ll give it to you in just a moment.” his hands lightly wrapping around your throat and pushing down to your tits, playing with your nipples and fumbling with them until they harden under the pads of his thumbs.
you mindlessly stick your tongue out and lick at the underside of his shaft. ignoring the slight burn in your neck as you fight to hold your head up, jake groaning in shock and tightly gripping your supple chest.
he leans back up, sliding his hands around your neck once again and aligning his cock to the opening of your mouth. pushing his dick into your mouth and letting it lie heavy on the roof of your mouth.
he pushes his cock all the way in, letting your throat close around the tip giving him that extra tinge of pleasure.  he shallowly fucks in and out of your mouth, listening to the sounds of you gurgling around his member.
he doesn’t want to come quite yet, pressing his pelvis flush against your face and holding. slowing his breath while you choke around him, spit spluttering out of your mouth while he fights to calm himself down. he almost can withhold while his cock sits in the back of your throat, but the feeling of your tongue pressing against the veins on his cock.
quickly pulling out and leaving you gasping for air.
“i need to be in your cunt.”
his eyes get dark, the light completely leaving and being replaced with an overwhelming amount of lust. your mind is already hazy as you gaze up at him, eyes fighting the urge to roll back.
you quickly move around, placing yourself right in front of him and spreading your legs to expose yourself completely.
your thong is completely soaked and painted a shade darker.
“look at my little personal cheerleader. get to come home and fuck you stupid.” his finger slides under the thin material, pulling it a couple of inches back from your cunt as he continues his tangent. “my little prize, have to watch all the other players eye fuck you across the court. your empty little brain hardly even notices it.”
a quick look of annoyance flashes across his face, clearly annoyed at the idea of all the other guys ogling at you.
“but my dumb cheerleader always makes sure to chant my name and cheer for me. every. single. night. that right?” you eagerly nod, unable to bring yourself to speak at the moment, jake slapping you around a couple of times in response. “come on, use that pretty voice.”
“yes jaeyunie, only yours. i only cheer for you.”
“good girl.” fucking his cunt up into yours, satisfied with how you gasp at the intrusion. he pulls out slowly before slamming his length into you multiple times, watching your cunt squeeze around him and stretch around his girth. a bulge slightly evident in the pit of your abdomen.
the sound of you practically squealing every time he punches your insides.
his hand finding its spot on your clit, his thumb swirling in circles and matching up with his pace. he admires the look on your face, your eyes closed tightly while you bite down on your lip almost hard enough to draw blood.
“aht aht, can’t have you hurting yourself angel.” his free hand coming up to cup your chin and slide a thumb between your lips. he presses down on your tongue slightly, enough to get your jaw slacking open and prevent you from causing any more damage to your pretty lips.
“now come on, i know you wanna milk my cock pretty.” replacing his thumb massaging your clit with his ring and pointer finger, applying more pressure onto the muscle. he spits down onto your cunt, letting his cock push his saliva into you and coat his cock even more. your already slicked-up cunt crying around him even more as your back arches up.
“there it is.” your walls convulse around him while he continues his movements. watching the white ring around his cock get thicker and thicker, feeling his tip swell inside of you. he pulls out enough to leave his tip still plugged inside of you, seeing the veins on his cock throb down the rest of his length.
his climax climbs up his back, but he doesn’t completely tip over until he sees your small hand creep down to your opening and wrap around the exposed area of your cock, sliding up and down and urging him to cum right inside of you.
his hand grips the frilly material of your skirt, grasping onto anything to keep himself grounded, knowing that his orgasm is going to hit him hard. not bothering to hold back his whines and moans as his cock swells with sensitivity.
“i worked so hard for you, please.” was all it took for him to paint your walls. his warm seed dripping out of your cunt and between the dip of your ass. “so… good,” leaving your lips as your head nods back and sinks into the plush mattress.
guess you could say jake loves having a personal cheerleader.

THE GAME had been intense from the get-go, both teams playing aggressive and physical defense.
The stands echoed with the roar of the crowd, but everyone remained focused, their eyes locked on the ball. With each possession, the tension mounted, and the stakes grew higher. The scoreboard flickered with each point scored, but neither team could gain a significant lead.
As the game progressed, the players' determination became palpable. They dove for loose balls, contested every shot, and fought for rebounds with unwavering resolve. The crowd was on their feet, swept up in the game.
You were focused, keeping your eyes on the player you'd been been guarding this entire game. She was quick, agile, and had a deadly accurate shot. You knew that any lapse in concentration could result in her slipping past you and scoring points for her team.
You mirrored her every move, anticipating her cuts and drives to the basket. Each time she attempted to break away, you were there, shadowing her with relentless tenacity. The sweat beaded on your forehead, your muscles burning with exertion, but you refused to let up.
With each possession, the intensity between you two grew. She drove to the basket with determination, but you were there, contesting every layup, refusing to give an inch. When she pulled up for a jump shot, your hand was in her face, disrupting her rhythm, forcing a miss.
But she was relentless, constantly searching for openings, probing your defense for weaknesses. You matched her step for step, refusing to let her gain the upper hand. That was your style ─ completely and utterly focused and determined.
Paige finally got subbed back in and she jogged back to the court. You felt Paige's hand pat your back enthusiastically as she passed you, but your focus was completely on the game. With each passing moment, the stakes seemed to rise, the intensity escalating with every possession.
Then, in a split second, everything changed. As you maintained your defensive stance, focused on your opponent's movements, she made a sudden pivot, her elbow catching me squarely in the nose. The impact sent a sharp jolt of pain through your head, and you stumbled backward, momentarily stunned.
You stumbled back into Aaliyah, who quickly steadied you as the opponent began apologizing. Grateful for her steadying presence, you blink away the stars dancing in your vision and attempt to focus through the throbbing pain in your nose.
The opponent's voice, filled with genuine remorse, pierces through the haze of discomfort. "Oh shit, I'm sorry," she exclaims, her tone laced with concern. "I didn't mean to—"
Before you could answer, you heard another voice do it for you. "Didn't mean to, my ass," Paige's tense voice echoed as she examined your nose. "Watch where you're going next time,"
Despite the pain, a flicker of amusement danced in your mind at Paige's blunt response. It was typical of her to defend you fiercely, even in the midst of a game.
Gently pushing aside Paige's concern, you offered a reassuring smile to both her and your opponent. "It's okay," you said, your voice strained but calm.
However, before you could continue Geno subbed you out quickly. He wanted to make sure you didn't have a concussion or any other serious injury. As you made your way to the bench, the adrenaline still pumping through your veins, you could feel the concerned eyes of your teammates on you.
"Take a seat," Geno instructed, his voice worried. The team medic quickly approached, shining a light in your eyes and asking a series of questions to assess your condition. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," you replied, the throbbing in your nose subsiding slightly.
He nodded, his eyes scanning your face for any signs of distress. "We need to make sure you're okay. Take a moment to rest and get checked out."
You answered the medic's questions, reassuring them as best you could that you felt fine, despite the throbbing in your nose and the lingering dizziness. Your heart ached to be back on the court, contributing to your team's effort, but you knew Geno was right to be cautious.
As soon as the halftime buzzer went off, Paige was jogging toward you. She took the medic's place and began assessing you herself, her concern evident in her furrowed brow and the tightness of her jaw.
"How bad is it?" Paige asked, her voice low but filled with worry.
"It's not too bad," you replied, mustering a reassuring smile despite the throbbing in your nose. "I'm fine,"
Paige's brow furrowed with worry, but she maintained her composed demeanor. "Let me take a look," she said, gently tilting your head to get a better view of your nose.
After a thorough inspection, Paige nodded to herself, her expression softening slightly. "Doesn't look too bad," she assessed, her tone more reassuring now.
Just as she stopped speaking, your nose began to bleed slightly, a trickle of blood escaping and staining the ice pack pressed against it. Paige quickly reached for a towel, dabbing away the blood with practiced ease.
She kept the towel pressed against your nose as she watched at you, her gaze concerned. The medic approached, ready to assist, but Paige intercepted her. "I got it," she said firmly, taking the tissues from the medic's hand.
With a nod, the medic stepped back, trusting Paige to take care of you. Paige then turned her attention back to you, her focus unwavering as she continued to apply gentle pressure to your nose.
You couldn't help but smile in amusement at Paige's seriousness, a stark contrast from her usual playful demeanor off the court. As Paige continued to staunch the bleeding, her expression softened slightly, a flicker of concern in her eyes. You could tell she was worried about you, her usual lightheartedness replaced by a focused resolve to see you through this.
As the bleeding finally began to subside, Paige inspected your nose once more, her expression more relaxed now. "There we go," she said softly, offering you a reassuring smile. "All cleaned up."
You nodded, grateful for her care, and took the tissue, dabbing at your nose to ensure it was dry. "Thanks, P."
Geno called for a team huddle before halftime to an end, and you and Paige joined your teammates at center court. Despite the discomfort in your nose, you stood tall, ready to listen to Geno's pep talk.
"Alright, listen up," Geno began, his voice loud. "We've had a tough first half, but we're still in this game. We need to stay disciplined on defense and execute on offense. Remember, every possession counts."
Paige stood beside you, her presence a comforting reassurance as Geno's words washed over the team. Her hand found yours, squeezing it tightly as she listened to Geno.
"Y/N, you good to go back in?" Geno asked, his gaze focused on you.
You met Geno's gaze with determination, nodding firmly. "Yes, coach, I'm ready," you affirmed, the throbbing in your nose now a distant discomfort compared to the excitement burning in your chest.
With a nod of approval, Geno's expression softened slightly. "Alright then, let's finish this half strong," he declared, rallying the team for the game ahead.
With renewed determination, you and your teammates broke the huddle and made your way back onto the court. As the second half began, you took your position, ready to give it your all for your team.

playing fair [pazzi]
paige bueckers x azzi fudd
summary: based on their alleged behavior at azzi’s camp today …
word count: 1.3k
masterlist
Clang.
The ball spun slowly around the rim until it slowly tipped to the side, dropping to the ground with a disappointing thump. Azzi shook her head, a small grin on her face as she went to rebound the ball.
“And that, kids,” Paige announced, “is what you don’t do.”
“Shut up.” Azzi elbowed Paige in the ribs before turning her attention to the crowd of kids intently watching them. “I want all of you to partner up and practice the footwork I just did.”
As soon as all the campers turned their attention to finding their friends and retrieving their balls, Paige’s hands were on Azzi’s waist. Pressing up behind her, she whispered mockingly in Azzi’s ear, “Teaching them to miss shots? Their coaches will love you.”
Azzi shivered when Paige’s mouth brushed against her earlobe, the older girl’s cologne overpowering her senses. It was tempting to lean into Paige, surrendering herself to her touch, but the wary look Katie sent them forced Azzi to detach herself from Paige’s grip.
“You’re acting like you’ve never missed in your life,” Azzi scoffed, pushing the ball into Paige’s stomach and sending the blonde stumbling back.
“I don’t.” Paige bounced the ball between her legs with a smirk. Azzi shook her head and walked away, wanting to help out any campers who were confused or needed guidance. But when she felt something hit her butt, followed by two very familiar voices snickering, she turned right back around.
“God, you’re so immature,” Azzi said, eyeing her girlfriend who was high fiving Drew like she was a little kid.
“You left me! What else was I supposed to do?” Paige whined.
“You know I asked you to come in order to help with the kids, not to stare at me all day and goof around.”
Paige’s cheeks quickly colored bright red. “How’d you know I was staring?”
“Everyone knew you were staring,” Drew piped up, earning a smack to the head from his sister.
“Seriously, you aren’t slick,” Azzi chastised.
Paige grabbed the end of Azzi’s shirt, playing with the frays. “Why can’t I just stick with you?” she frowned, her face looking like a kicked puppy’s.
Azzi brushed away a strand of dyed pink hair from Paige’s face, fingertips lightly brushing her temple. “Paige.”
Paige huffed, eyes flitting away to assess the campers before fixing her gaze back on Azzi. “Fine.”
“We’ll go somewhere tonight, just the two of us,” Azzi promised. In truth, she wanted nothing more than to be stuck at the hip with her best friend, but she’d invested too much planning and time into this camp, and she wanted the kids to have a good time. Which wouldn’t be possible if her and Paige were making googly eyes at each other all day instead of actually teaching the kids.
Paige nodded reluctantly before letting Azzi walk away again, this time with a pat to the butt instead of a ball.
Paige swore she tried to help as many kids as possible, giving them quick tips to adjust their body positioning or demonstrating how to do a left-handed layup. But something about Azzi had always been addicting, making it hard for her eyes to leave Azzi’s face for more than a few seconds before inevitably going back. So who could blame her for stealing glances at Azzi from across the room when she was supposed to be listening to a camper’s question?
“I found a solution,” Paige said as she walked up to her girlfriend during the water break.
“To what?” Azzi tipped her head back to chug her water, and Paige swallowed at the flex of Azzi’s jaw. She itched to brush away the drop of water trailing its way down her girlfriend’s jaw, but she silently reminded herself that it was imperative to stay cordial.
“You can’t smile,” Paige said solemnly before stealing Azzi’s water bottle for a sip.
Azzi squinted at the older girl, confusion written all over her face. “Did all those hours flying at high altitudes fuck up your brain?”
“Dumbass.” Paige nudged the younger girl with the water bottle. “But think about it. It makes sense. I get yelled at for being distracted all the time, but you’re the one distracting me. But most of the times it’s only when you smile and shit, so if you want me to be locked in then you just gotta stop smiling.”
“I don’t know whether to be flattered or to call a mental institution but I’m leaning towards the latter.”
Paige grinned, the annoyed look on Azzi’s face fueling her fire like it always did. “I can’t help it,” she said, inching closer to the dark haired girl. “Not when the prettiest girl in the world is in the same room as me.”
Azzi ducked her head. “Stop being such a flirt.”
Paige conveniently let her hand drop next to Azzi’s, intentionally grazing their pinkies. “You love it.”
Azzi’s fingers flexed when Paige pulled away, itching to bridge the gap between their hands. “Nope.”
“You tryna hold my hand right now, I can feel it,” Paige said, a knowing smile spread across her lips.
“I’m tryna stop my hand from punching you in the face,” Azzi grumbled before walking away again, mostly because Paige was right and that if she was in close proximity with the blonde for any longer than she would lose all remnants of self control.
“Who’s a better shooter, you or Azzi?” Paige looked down at the little girl who had suddenly materialized by her side.
Chuckling, she kneeled down so that she was eye to eye with the kid. “What do you think?” she prodded, widening her eyes for dramatic effect.
“My friend says you’re better.” The little girl paused before sending Paige a sheepish look. “But I think Azzi’s better.”
Paige looked around, making sure the girl in question wasn’t within hearing distance, before lowering her voice like she was telling a secret. “Go tell your friend that only one of us has almost flawless shooting mechanics, and it’s not me.”
The girl beamed at Paige before running off, no doubt eager to boast to her friend. Paige chuckled before scanning the room to find Azzi again. She honestly didn’t know why she was like this, why the first thing she always did was look for Azzi among all the faces. It was almost second nature to her, something she did subconsciously. She wondered if it was healthy for her heart to pick up pace every time she laid eyes on her girlfriend. But hey, it was basically a form of cardio. Geno would be proud.
Twirling a basketball in her hand, Paige slowly counted to five before deciding that enough time had passed for her to bother Azzi again.
“Hey, can you help me with my shooting form?”
Azzi looked up over her shoulder, mid conversation with a group of kids that couldn’t have been more than nine years old.
“I think your shooting form is fine, Paige,” Azzi said with narrowed eyes, her suspicion starting to grow.
“I think it’d be good for the kids to see you fixing bad form. It’d help them with any issues they might have that they can’t see themselves,” Paige said innocently, batting her eyes.
Azzi gritted her teeth when the campers nodded along, oblivious to the entire situation. “You really think you’re funny, huh?” she whispered to the blonde, who was already in an awkward shooting stance, hand sliding up her arm to gently lift her elbow.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Paige whispered back, eyes trained on the ball in her hands.
Azzi breathed into Paige’s neck, smirking a little to herself when she noticed the goosebumps on her skin. “Has anyone ever told you that you have attachment issues?”
“Only everyone who knows we’re dating.”
“Shoot the damn ball.”
Swish.
“What’d you say earlier about me missing?” Paige raised her eyebrows cockily.
Azzi chose not to respond, instead lifting her shirt up to wipe sweat from her forehead, smirking when she saw the effect it had on the blonde.
“You don’t play fair,” Paige complained, her stare focused on the piercing in her belly button.
“Maybe if you weren’t so down bad for me.”
Paige kicked the floor with her foot, knowing it was pointless to argue. “So what are we doing tonight?”
“It’s a surprise.” Azzi smiled wryly. “But it’ll be fun, don’t worry.”
“And we’re gonna be alone, right?”
“Yes, that’s what I said.”
Paige curled her fingers around Azzi’s waist. “Good. I love our family but the house is loud as fuck.”
Azzi’s heart warmed. Our family. She could get used to that. Paige rested her forehead on Azzi’s shoulder from behind for a few seconds, basking in the warmth of her girlfriend before letting go with a sigh and backing away. “How long until camp is over?”
“Two hours.”
“Two hours til you’re all mine,” Paige said cheesily.

warning : cursing
pair : nishimura riki x f!reader
buns notes : havent had a fic in a while so.. here !
Tumblr media
Riki was running around during basketball practice doing his best as always. making dunks and all.
But his temper was through the roof since his teammates kept screwing up.
After one of them missed a layup he groaned. "You all fucking suck today!" He huffed out as he sat on the bench.
The boys all cowered in shame as they avoided rikis scolding gaze.
Despite riki being young he was the captain of this basketball team and definitely did his role correctly.
"Sorry captain.. we didn't—" "Fuck whatever excuse you're about to say."
He hissed before taking a sip of his water bottle, wiping the stray droplets off his chin.
He threw his water bottle down. "Go back on the court and if you all mess up again you'll be running until your damn legs swell up." He pushed past the scared boys as they followed suit behind him.
The whole practice play was scolding after scolding from riki and he had enough.
"Run. all of you." He sat on the bench again and buried his head in his hands as he faintly heard sneakers against the floor which signaled they were running.
He was so caught up in his frustration he didn't notice someone sat beside him before that familiar voice reached his ears.
"Baby? what's wrong?" You called out and riki immediately looked up, his eyes softening.
"Its nothing pretty, the guys are just being themselves." He smiled and wrapped a arm around your waist.
"Did you have a good day at your classes?" He asked before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"Yeah i did.. oh! let me tell you!" You began to ramble on and riki listened attentively, nodding and or humming to indicate he was listening.
His teammates walked over panting but paused at the domestic scene.
Riki sent a glare there way that signaled 'You aren't finished.' and they immediately went back to running.
Rikis eyes turned back to a yapping you as he admired your cuteness.
Here to say, he's definitely a sweetheart to you.

A Helping Hand
ITZY Yuna x Male Reader | (Tags: Smut)
Tumblr media
A/N: Damn I've been so down bad for her lately. Thanks @kaedespicelatte as always for beta reading.
————————
Clank. Clank. Clank.
Missed shots after missed shots—some of them aren’t even hitting the rim, that’s how bad it’s gotten. It’s safe to say that basketball practice isn’t going particularly well for you. You’ve had to resort to either passing the ball in the perimeter or going for a layup instead, which makes you easier to defend against. And it’s not like you were making your shots in shootaround either, the rim could probably be as wide as the ocean and you would still somehow miss it. It’s as if you forgot the fundamentals of the sport you grew to love and dedicate your life towards.
Nothing frustrates you more than when your shots aren’t falling. You’re a basketball player after all—well to be more exact, you are the school’s star basketball player and the team captain. Your teammates look up at you for inspiration and to lead them to victory every single game. Sure it’s just practice, but you didn’t get this far by slacking off and you want to lead by example. No one criticizes you more than your own self and perhaps it’s that double-edged sword that has led you to become so hard on yourself. It’s a trait that has led you to success but at times like this, you are your own worst enemy.
You make brief eye contact with your coach and the look of disappointment he gives you is so gut wrenching, his hands on his hips and his eyebrows furrowed. You can already hear the rant he’s about to give once scrimmage is over, he’s not exactly a player’s coach and just because you’re the star player does not mean that he’s going to be nicer to you—in fact, it’s the opposite. You’ve gotten yelled at in front of your teammates so many times that you’ve become numb to it. He wants the best from you as much as you want the best from yourself but his yelling is what you didn’t wanna hear at this very moment. All you want to do is get some rest and perhaps sleep it off.
“Cut! Cut!”
Coach yells and you’re scrambling to remember how to defend the play. He introduced it earlier during this practice but it obviously never stuck with you. You’re so distracted trying to remember m that you didn’t even realize that you’ve blown your defensive assignment as your opponent drives past you to receive the pass for an easy layup, following the coach’s instructions perfectly and you’ve absolutely lost it. It’s one thing to not make shots but it’s even worse that you can’t even defend properly. You might as well be a drill come out there. Enough is enough.
“Fuck!”
The expletive rings throughout the gym, much louder than you’ve anticipated and your coach blows the whistle. Your teammates can only look at you in pity, they know how frustrating it is to be in your situation plus the wrath you’re about to receive is not going to be pretty. You stop in your tracks and pant heavily, sweat dripping down your face as the intensity of the scrimmage takes over you. Silence, except for your teammates also trying to catch their breath. Your coach then takes a slow walk towards you with his clipboard in hand and you are already bracing your eardrums for the berating but then signals all of the players to leave for the day and walks up to you with his clipboard in hand. Huh, guess he’s sparing you the embarrassment for today. He probably already knows that you’ve embarrassed yourself enough already.
“Listen, I don’t know if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning but I’m not having this okay? We’ve got a game later today and I need you to be completely focused and locked in. You’re not leaving this gym until you’ve made 100 threes in a row, got it?”
Somehow, that’s a better punishment than being yelled at in front of your teammates. You look pathetic as it is for their team captain and that would’ve made it worse. Maybe it was the prospect of getting yelled at but suddenly your shots were falling again, and it’s a great thing that it was a morning practice because it still took you five hours to make that many threes in a row. You were pretty sure that more threes than you’ve ever made in your entire career but it was all worth it. You were completely drained and exhausted and all you wanted to do was pass out. You found yourself laying on the hardwood floor and looking up on the banners, some of them you’ve helped raise in the rafters. It would be nice to ad—
“Tough practice, huh? Coach Lee looked like he was gonna knock your head off.” A familiar voice echoes throughout the empty gym. It’s the sound of a woman nonetheless and you’re damn sure that you must be hallucinating with how completely tired you are but that was immediately debunked the moment a basketball landed on your face. You look up and that signature bunny smile is enough to send your heart running throughout this facility. What the hell is she doing here? She’s never been here, hell does she even know what basketball is?
Shin Yuna. The school’s most popular student and the president of the student council—rumors has it that she’s turned down a record 200 male students during her time here so far (you can confirm at least 19 of those male students because everyone of your teammates have asked her out already). And it’s as clear as the bright blue skies as to why she’s highly sought after; insanely smart, stunning visuals, and an amazing body to go along with it (you definitely have not been taking notice of the last part, absolutely not). Plus, you see her face everywhere. There’s 100 clubs to join in this campus and she’s the leader for a handful of them. “Fuck me, did he broadcast to the entire school how shitty I was today?”
You lay back down on the hardwood floor, probably not good advice because your jersey is now completely dirty. But that’s the least of your concerns at this very moment. Yuna continues walking towards you, the heel of her boots making a resounding noise with each and every step. “No he didn’t, but I was running some errands and I wanted to stop by to check how our basketball team is doing and….” She sits down beside you, clearly she doesn’t care that her clothes are going to be dirty either.
“And you saw me being absolutely shit at the sport I’m supposed to be good at. Great.” What horrible timing, the student council president rarely visits and she just had to choose the worst day possible. You just want to bury a hole and dig yourself.
And Yuna is either terrible at reading people’s emotions or she doesn’t care at all because her response was a smile as she sits closer to you, as if she’s shrugging off everything you just said. Can this day get any worse? “Well, everyone has bad days don’t they? I’m sure that LeBron Jordan guy had some bad shooting days as well.” Never mind, guess she has great intentions after all.
“Touché. But we have a game later so I need to figure the fuck out how to play again so will you be of any help, miss student council president?” You must have said something right because her face lights up like a light bulb. And you can only hope that whatever she does have in mind is actually going to be helpful.
“Well that can’t be good….” Her fingers trace your biceps, “As the president of the student council it’s my duty to ensure that our school’s star athlete can de-stress before the game right?” You’re only half focusing on her words at this very moment, her scalding touch the only thing occupying your mind as she continues to caress your arms.
Like a true basketball star, you’re figuring out her next play though like a simple pick and roll, it’s easy to decipher. You decide to let it play out anyways. “What are you trying to say?”
“How about……” Her fingers now reach for your face, her own visage now dangerously close to yours, “…I lend you a helping hand, how does that sound?”
As expected, it was the perfect read all along. The moment her lips mesh with yours and you could already feel all of this morning’s stress start to dissipate. You didn’t even hesitate to think about the potential repercussions, of the fact that two of the most influential figures on campus are about to engage in acts not appropriate for such a setting. Not when you feel how perfect her soft lips are on yours, clouding your judgment and throwing any sense of rationality out of the window. Your teammates would surely kill you if they found out that out of everyone on the team, it was you that’s getting such an opportunity with Yuna.
They’d surely be jealous because you’re the one viewing her beautiful features up close, not them. You’re the one caressing her curves and every other part of her heavenly body that have made her the wet dreams of every male student on campus. That you’re the one eliciting such lustful and throaty moans out of her as your lips trail down to her neck, your hands reaching out to her clothed busts to give them a gentle squeeze. It sounds so hot, Yuna sounds so fucking hot. And it’s a good thing that you’re wearing your basketball shorts and not your regular pants because you would definitely be in much more pain now with how hard you are.
“Fuck, a little stress relief is what I need as well….”
But it gets even worse the moment she straddles your lap, landing perfectly on the tent forming on your shorts and you inadvertently groan at the immense pleasure. She reverts back to kissing you before you could even muster up a verbal response, a more aggressive lip lock this time with tongues involved  as she slowly starts to grind on you. You could feel how wet she is under that skirt and your mind is already racing with the plenty of ways you want to take advantage of this opportunity. As much as you don’t want to stop kissing her, you don’t want it to stop at just this so you grab at the hem of your jersey but before you could remove it, she breaks away from the kiss. It’s only first base and yet she’s already ruined and so fucking pretty as always. “Is there a more private place?”
Of course there is. You grabbed her by the hand and dragged her towards the empty locker room. As soon as the door is shut, you grab her by the waist and bring her to your lap again as you sit on the bench and resume your kissing. Busy hands immediately go to work trying to remove each other’s clothing. She gets rid of your jersey with ease while you have to work with removing her tie and lifting the blue top over her head; her bra coming off right after. Your mouth salivates at the sight of her perfectly shaped tits, round, petite, and nipples begging to be sucked. But as you were mere inches away, she got off of you to remove her skirt and panties (which were drenched as you predicted. You do the same with your shorts and boxers, throwing them to the side. Both of your shoes come flying off as well.
You’re both finally fully naked. Your cock twitching as precum oozes from the tip due to intense arousal, there in front of you lies a naked Yuna. Whereas other guys have to imagine what she looks like, you could actually view her in this state. A gorgeous face paired with a body sculpted by the gods themselves, curves that can only be compared to that of an hourglass, her clean shaven pussy, her inner thighs already drenched, and those legs that you just want wrapped around you. But with how she’s biting and licking her lips, you’re not the only one completely turned on. “You can take a picture of me to jack off to later, but I want you to fuck me now please.”
And who are you to turn down such a request? She mounts you once again, this time making sure to aim her opening at your tip. You both moan at the first contact, electricity surging through your bodies but you fight through it. You bring her lips to yours, arms wrapped around her body as you aid her in completely taking you inside her. “A-Ahhh fucc-k!” Her nails immediately dig into your shoulder and back as she pulls away from the kiss. Yuna is tight, so amazingly and mind-blowingly tight despite how wet she is. And it doesn’t seem like she’s a virgin either because she seems like she knows what she’s doing. You, on the other hand, haven’t had sex in ages and yet your carnal desire for her is what’s driving you. “So fucking b-big!”
“And you’re so tight….shit.”
Eventually, she's able to take your length all the way inside her. But with how tight she is, you will definitely rearrange her guts by the time you two are finished. That’s the least of your concerns right now, however. as she begins to roll her hips. The pleasure is overwhelming and the effects of not having any intercourse in quite a while is starting to rear its ugly head as every single movement of her hips is driving you crazy. You pull her even closer to you, causing her to squeal as no inch of space is left between the two of you. Once you are able to overcome the initial onslaught of pleasure, you begin to thrust up inside her as well. And this causes Yuna to wrap her long, luscious legs around you as her nails leave scratch marks on your back and shoulders. “F-Fuck me hard just like that, please!” Her moans are a beautiful symphony of curses, inaudible phrases, and your name uttered in the sexiest way possible. You would gladly listen to it until the day you die. Maybe you could have her relieve your stress all the time if this is what you get at the end.
And you would kiss her to prevent anyone from hearing her moans but the place is empty so it’d be useless so instead you do what you’ve been dying to do ever since earlier, and that’s to taste her breasts. It doesn’t help that they jiggle deliciously in front of you as every thrust of your hips meet her bounces. You dive down and capture them with your lips, focusing on her left breast first and licking the stiff, brown nipple with your tongue. Her whimpers only serve as encouragement, switching to the right nipple and giving it the same treatment that it deserves. Your fingers, on the other hand, are carefully massaging her saliva-drenched left breast. You repeat this over and over, making sure they get enough appreciation from you. She stops grinding her hips at some point because of the immense pleasure and you paused your thrusting as well, and if she didn’t grab you by the chin for a kiss you wouldn’t have noticed as well.
A deep, passionate makeout then ensues as she starts to grind her hips again, her hands pushing your face further towards hers into a sloppy serenade of pure unadulterated need towards each other. A string of saliva follows as you both pull away from oxygen, the lust in her eyes only strengthening with time. “Don’t lie, you’ve been dreaming of sucking my tits don’t you?” The remark catches you off guard and makes you laugh. The answer is obvious, if she wants to hear it then you’ll gladly tell her.
“Fucking hell Yuna, I don’t think there’s any guy out there that doesn’t.” Hell, you want to suck them again at this very moment but you don’t want to be selfish. She also has her needs after all.
The grinding of her hips turns into bouncing again, and the slapping of skin on skin begins to reverberate in the empty locker room. “Exactly. S-So take advantage of this opportunity—shit—and give me your all.” You don’t want to be told twice; you bury your face on her chest as you thrust up at a frantic pace. Her moans only get louder as you piston your cock inside her pussy—that’s still so amazingly tight—relentlessly, making sure that they’ll mold to your shape. Soon, those moans turn into whimpers as she rests her chin on your shoulders and her hot breath going directly through your ears as she continuously whispers sweet nothings—completely delirious from how good of a fucking she’s receiving from you. It’s so pure, it’s so carnal, and it’s so fucking hot the way your moans combine with the slapping of wet skin and the squelches of her pussy as you continue to pound up into her.
But you two are humans after all and can only receive and give so much pleasure, and it doesn’t really take long for Yuna to completely unravel—only three more minutes to be exact. You could already feel it with how much tighter she’s gotten, so tight that you might just reach your orgasm the same time as her. It takes you gritting your teeth and closing your eyes because looking at her pleasure-stricken face with her tongue sticking out and eyes rolled to the back of her head along with her unreal visuals is going to completely cause you to become undone. “Fuck, baby I’m gonna come please. Make me come, fuck me just like that I’m so fucking close….” But you’d rather attack her neck with kisses and bites anyways, the combined smell of her sweat and lavender perfume only driving you crazier and crazier. Like a mantra, she repeats her wish along with incoherent whispers but it’s at a particularly rough thrust as she comes down hard in your lap that sets off the explosions.
“FFUCKK!”
It’s so fucking hot. The way her nails cling to your back, now probably leaving scratches that will surely take weeks to disappear. The way her luscious thighs constrict your waist. The way she grabs onto your face and pulls you towards her for a kiss. It’s all too overwhelming and it takes every single fiber of your being not to join her as her hot and tight walls attempt to squeeze you for all the cum you have, and you just might. Her juices immediately flood both of your crotches as her orgasm completely overrides her, taking a few minutes to subside as you continue to thrust your hips up to her at a slower and gentle pace. She doesn’t stop grinding her hips either, her moans now turning into whimpers while she continues to make-out with you, and with everything that’s already happened you know you’re not too far away from joining her. Yuna pulls away from the kiss and she whispers the words you’ve been dying to hear, her eyes filled with cock-filled lust in the aftermath of her post-orgasm haze. “Fucking cum in me.”
You’re embarrassed the way it immediately turns you on, as if a switch is flipped inside your brain that wants one thing and one thing only: Yuna. So with the remaining strength you have, you place your hands underneath her thighs and made sure that she’s wrapped tightly around you before standing up to effectively fuck her in stand and carry. The new position has her screaming and yelling as gravity aids in impaling her into your shaft, your cock now reaching places inside her that you couldn’t do so earlier. You bounce her on your length before walking over to your locker and pressing her back onto the cold surface, making her shiver. With support, you continue to thrust into her at an unrelenting pace and due to the sensitivity from her orgasm, it doesn’t take too long for her to come undone once again. You must’ve discovered a specific bundle of nerves inside her because she bites into your shoulder with a scream and begging you to fuck her hard once again, every thrust has her wrapping her arms around tour neck tighter and the feeling of such a perfect body like hers against yours is truly mindblowing.
She’s completely rag-dolled into your arms at this point and it only took a few more thrusts before she lost herself. The sight is perfect and unsullied, not even the most expensive paintings in the world could rival her face at this very moment. It’s all beautiful and lewd at the same time. It’s an orgasm that’s somehow even stronger than her first one. “S-So fucking good!” Yuna’s juices immediately start to flood your length and drip down to the floor below; the added lubrication now making it easier to thrust in and out of her and she must’ve noticed how much your cock has been twitching ever since her orgasm because she doesn’t stop bouncing on your cock despite her sensitivity, in fact she’s working twice as hard. No words exchanged for a while as she’s still trying to recover from the intensity of her orgasm while you’ve been rendered speechless by how intense your orgasm is going to be as well. Instead she kisses you as a way of showing thanks, nibbling and pulling on your lower lip as you let her do all the work. It doesn’t take long for you to feel that bubbling sensation in your stomach and you have to inform her sooner or later so you pull away from the kiss but it seems like she already knows.
“Y-Yuna, where—“
She gives you a nod, then a peck on the lips. Her eyes are once again filled with lust and that’s the only green light you need. “It’s been a while since I’ve been fucked like that so it’s only right for me to return the favor. I want your cum inside me please.” Such words have never been more enticing and seducing. With a loud groan, the first shot of cum is emptied into Yuna’s freshly fucked pussy. And then some more; each thrust of your hips delivers a shot of cum fucked deep into her needy womb. Each thrust makes all of the stress and anguish of today go away. You can’t count how many shots you’ve unloaded but it’s enough to stain your balls and flood the gaps between where your cock and her pussy meet—all of it dripping down onto the floor below. Another makeout session ensues, your tongues lazily dancing with one another as you continue to thrust your cock inside her to make sure no drop of cum is wasted. But it really doesn’t matter because a copious amount of semen drips out of her pussy the moment you pull out, and you’re completely shocked by how much you filled her. It’s truly a testament to how good she fucked you.
“Shit. Yuna, I–”
Yuna interrupts you with a kiss. “It’s fine, I wanted your cum and I got it. And it looks like you were really stressed.” She points towards the pool of cum on the floor, weeks worth deposited inside her and you can’t help but be embarrassed. “Either that or I really turned you on.” Heat rises up to your cheeks and you want to dig up a hole and bury yourself in it once again. There’s no denying that she didn’t; she’s definitely the best woman you’ve ever had sex with and it doesn’t even come close. And the sight of her post-sex is only making you want to fuck her again—her inner thighs glazed with your cum, her perfect body covered with sweat, and her face looking thoroughly fucked. Your cock twitches at the sight and she smirks, walking over to you and slowly wrapping her fingers around your length and pumping it at a leisurely pace.
“Hmm. Looks like you’re still hard for me, how about I fix that?” It truly must be your lucky day today because she dragged you to the showers and quickly got on her knees, taking your length inside her mouth and effectively cleaned both of your juices off of it with her skillful tongue. Despite already one orgasm down the drain, the opportunity to paint her face with your cum is the only thing you need to get going again. Yuna continues to bob her head up and down your cock, her hands massaging your balls as if to make sure to receive your full load again. Your groans and the lewd sound of her mouth overpowers the sound of the intense water pressure of the shower. And with how turned on you’ve been, it doesn’t take too long before you unload spurts after spurts of cum on her face. She looks so damn beautiful, yet so ruined at the same time. “We taste so good together, we should do this more often…”
Thankfully the rest of the shower time was actually used to clean up and ten minutes later, you two are dressed up again as if nothing happened. “Good luck out there, champ. I’ll be cheering for you.” Yuna gives you one final kiss, giving you an extra boost as if you weren’t motivated enough already. Then she flashes her signature wide smile that has caused hundreds of men to fall in love with her, and you’re about to be added on to that list. Fucking hell.
“Here’s my number by the way. Feel free to stop by my dorm once you guys win, your student council president will have a special prize for you.”

i hit 100 followers while i was asleep (absolutely bananas imo but i’m so thrilled y’all are enjoying my steddie dads verse bc i’ve literally never had so much fun writing before) so here's a sneak peek of a wip featuring the Harrington fam
Eddie does not understand sports.
He may be approaching fifty years old and way past his old ways of rejecting every notion that doesn’t perfectly align with his own interests, but even after all these years, the wires in his brain simply cannot wrap themselves around sports no matter how hard he tries.
And he does try because, naturally, he has three daughters, Moe, Robbie, and Hazel, all of whom play sports.
To be clear – his kids can do literally anything they want, bar none.
He’s still in goddamn awe with the whole arrangement that is the life he lives every day – kids and a house and a job he loves and all that with Steve Harrington of all people. There’s no way Eddie would start fucking all that up by projecting his own weird quirks onto his children. He refuses to be the kind of parent that prevents their kids from doing anything just because they don't get it. If the girls want to play sports, they’re gonna play sports. Nothing wrong with that.
Still, sports are one of those things he takes the back seat and lets Steve hold the reins for, especially now that thirteen-year-old Moe is pretty deep into the whole basketball thing.
Steve understands the politics of the game, both on the court — like knowing which refs are gonna be biased towards which team and noting Moe’s play-time each game — and off. He schmoozes the coach, he’s friends with all the parents, all the things Moe, at thirteen, doesn’t even notice and Eddie, while aware of it, doesn’t understand. He still can barely follow the games themselves (and he goes to as many as he can, though he and Steve are outnumbered by one and with the prospect of the girls carting themselves around still a distant fantasy their schedule is insane so he can’t make them all). He does his best to follow his husband’s lead but Steve doesn’t always react to things the way Eddie thinks he will. He doesn’t bat an eye when a kid gets smacked in the face with a ball, nor at the impossibly loud thud when someone hits the deck (look — he gets the floor is hollow, but it is loud). He’s completely unbothered by the fit Moe throws every game whenever she’s inevitably benched for having an attitude with her opponents or her teammates or the coach or the ref or just about anybody who tries to get in her way.
As is what happened at Moe’s game yesterday.
Eddie hadn’t seen it — well, he’d seen it, but seeing something and understanding what he’s actually looking at are two totally different things. From what he gathers, Moe had missed an easy shot and gotten pissed off in her own little way about it, so she’d launched herself at whoever on the opposing team had gotten their hands on the ball after it ricocheted off the backboard. Unfortunately for Moe, the team they were playing had a reputation for being a little too aggressive for a middle school league, so when she’d hit the ground, she hit it hard. Moe had been pulled off the court by her coach (carded, maybe? Eddie still isn’t sure how that works in basketball) and scowled on the bench for the rest of the game.
Steve had tried to reason with her on the drive home (an interesting choice, in Eddie’s opinion).
“Darling,” he’d said, “I totally understand being upset about missing a layup, but I don’t know how to get it through your head that intentionally fouling someone isn’t the way to go about resolving that emotion. I love you and I support you, but I’m getting tired of watching you play for three minutes and then sit on the bench for the rest of the game.”
“Talk to the coach then,” Moe had grumbled.
“About what?” Steve exclaimed, “Moe — you do it on purpose!”
The conversation had ended not long later because Moe decided to give them both the silent treatment (a clear sign that she knew she was in the wrong even if she didn’t want to admit it) and Eddie thought that was the end of it (for that game, at least). Then, Moe threw them a curveball by spending most of that evening in the bathroom throwing up, at which point she admitted that her head had caught more of that fall during her basketball game than she’d originally let on.
Steve doesn’t mess around with head injuries (for obvious reasons), so the next morning he calls Moe out of school and brings her to their pediatrician to get checked out.
A couple hours after Robbie and Hazel boarded the school bus bound for their elementary school, Steve and Moe return home.
“So what's the verdict?” Ed asks as they enter the kitchen.
“She's concussed,” Steve announces.
“Like father, like daughter.”
“No sports, no bright lights, no reading, no school, no phone,” Steve says pointedly, and Moe only scowls harder. She’d been using the incident as a leveraging tactic in her crusade to get a phone. Not being able to play sports was a no-brainer; they’d all seen that one coming, so even as recently as this morning, she’d been claiming that she’ll “die of boredom without a phone,” while she recovers.
Even as recently as this morning, she’d been largely unsuccessful.
“Thirteen-year-old children do not need phones,” Steve had told her, “If someone wants to talk to you, they can call the house, and if it's urgent enough that it needs to be right now, you can get walkie talkies.”
“No one uses walkie talkies.”
“Your dad and I used walkie talkies all the time.”
“Uh, pretty sure it was just the one time, Steve,” Eddie pointed out.
“Yeah! And it worked out great!”

My Laker star (Lesserafim)
++++++
I had this custom story made when I was watching the game and realized that Lesserafim was at the building. so it may not be perfect and I have decided to change it up a bit. (7k words)
Tumblr media
.
.
"Y/N McDaniels with the ball. He faces up against his opponent and goes into a smooth crossover, faking right and then slicing diagonally to his left. His defender is slow to react, and he blows past him with a step to his right, going up with the layup. He puts it up with authority, sinking the shot, and the crowd goes wild as the Lakers take the lead!"
"McDaniels on defense now, his opponent trying to drive to the hoop, but Y/N stands his ground and uses his superior length to contest the shot, and it's a miss!"
"McDaniels has been on fire tonight; nobody has been able to stop him. He gets the ball on the break, and he's one-on-one against his defender. He puts the ball down and drives, beating his man and going up for the layup, but his opponent puts a hand on the ball and tries to block the shot. It could have been a foul, but the refs let the play go on! McDaniels brings it down and puts it up again, sinking the shot! Another bucket for McDaniels!"
"McDaniels has it at the top of the key. He sees LeBron James open down low, and he makes the perfect pass, whipping it down the court with lightning speed. LeBron jumps up to meet it, and he throws the ball down with authority, and the crowd goes wild as the Lakers stretch out their lead. McDaniels and James are working great together tonight, and the crowd loves it!"
The huge ovation from the audience caused Kazuha's phone to ring, surprising her members who were gathering their breath after packing their belongings. With their hard work and sacrifice, the world has gradually acknowledged the ability of six girls who only wanted to play on stage.
"Zuha, What are you watching? Sounds like a parade there?"
Chaewon, their leader, inquired as she sipped her drink. When the firm gave them a ton of work, they didn't grumble and instead went out to perform with their hearts out, giving as much as their fans gave to them. To them, being an artist is not as simple as it appears. Some must make significant sacrifices in order to make their debut and demonstrate their skills. Because the sacrifices often may not equal the return, being a successful artist sometimes need luck.
"Ah, Sorry Unnie…my bad hehe.."
As a brilliant smile came on Kazuha's face, she murmured humbly. She was so engrossed in what she was viewing that she forgot about her surroundings, but can she really blame herself? When someone is completely absorbed in what they are doing. They tend to lose sight of the people around them and concentrate only on what they are doing. In this example, Kazuha was watching a thrilling Los Angeles Lakers game.
"Hearing the sounds…is that a basketball game Zuha?"
"Oh yeah Unnie."
"Eeeppp!! Is that the Lakers?! Girl let me watch!"
Yunjin dropped her luggage and sat next to Kazuha, her gaze fixed on her phone. The viewing tool for the game was minimal, but for die-hard fans like Kazuha and Yunjin, it was far superior to watching streams with so many strange adverts plastered left and right on a website.
"Eh? Yunjin, you watch basketball?"
Sakura inquired, closing her suitcase carefully. Sakura has already checked her suitcase three times to ensure that everything she needs for their short holiday is in there. Her suitcase was more ordered than their Maknae's luggage, who wasn't even packing and was sleeping. Sakura sighed as she began organizing their Maknae's stuff and placing everything in her suitcase.
"Of course Kkura Unnie. I have a few friends in New York who are basketball Junkies. Heck, I used to play basketball with them a few times before."
Sakura nodded in agreement as Yunjin's response demonstrated his familiarity with basketball. Given that she grew up in New York and discovered that their culture was much different from the society to which they were used. Sakura, on the other hand, knows basketball for two reasons. One is that in the early phases of her career, she was urged to do insane things in order to be elected, and basketball was one of them. She still suffers nightmares when she tries to remember those events. The second is that her childhood pal is now a basketball player. She last heard from him when he moved to the United States to play collegiate basketball, and after that, all forms of communication were cut off.
"Eh? You used to play Basketball Unnie?"
"The opposing team is looking to get an easy layup off of a fast break. McDaniels races back down the court to do his best to stop the play, but the defender is already airborne, ready to dunk the ball into the basket. McDaniels jumps, putting his body on the line to try to reach the ball. He tips it with his fingertips, and LeBron James comes soaring in from behind, blocking the ball and preventing the opposing team from scoring. McDaniels and LeBron high five as they force a turnover."
Yunjin nodded her head as her mouth formed an oh shape as she just saw an amazing play from the king, Lebron James.
"Yeah. Basket is literally a part of American culture there so yeah. Anyway, What's the age of Lebron again? He isn't suppose to be doing this things at year 21! My god…"
Yunjin was left speechless and at awe by the amazing feat Lebron James was showing. But Kazuha was more focused on the efforts of the other player. Y/N McDaniels. Kazuha knew that Lebron was the one who erased that easy layup but she knows that Your the one who prevented it to even making it graze the rim at all.
"Well He's Lebron Unnie. What can you say?"
As the opposition team requested a timeout, Kazuha laughed gently. Growing up, Kazuha was a tremendous basketball lover since her father was a huge basketball fan. Either the A or the B. The NBA or the Premier League. She recalls becoming exposed to the game of basketball during the 2009 NBA Finals. It was Game 6 of the NBA Finals, and Kobe and the Los Angeles Lakers were giving the Boston Celtics a fight for their money. Kazuha saw his father so engrossed in the game that she imagined herself in the stadium with her father, watching the game. Some would claim it's dull to watch, and who could blame them?
10 guys try to get a ball and score on each other and it just repeats over and over again. What's so fun about that? Add in the stereo type that Girls don't like basketball because it's too simple just makes Kazuha love the game even more.
Basketball became her method to hang out and interact with her father over time, since they were both die-hard Lakers fans. The Lakers have long been popular across the world, thanks to Kobe Bryant. His fame, combined with his influence, made the Lakers renowned all over the world, as it is constantly rated first in the world. So it's no surprise that the majority of the individuals Kazuha knows are huge Lakers fans. It is, after all, the city of angels..
"Hmm.. That guy McDaniels seems familiar and good too don't you think Zuha?"
Yunjin inquired as Kazuha nodded. Throughout the game, Kazuha was analyzing every player's mistakes and excellent plays, and in her opinion, you were the one with the fewest bad plays and the most team plays. Of course, she recognized your name; after all, you were the first rookie to lead your team to the Western Conference without any assistance.
"Of course Unnie. He's actually the only rookie to bring the lakers to the west conference finals when Lebron, AD, Dlo and Reaves were all injured. He went head to head with the Golden State warriors and got the respect from Curry, Klay, Draymond and even Kerr. Obviously the lakers lost because He was just a rookie but he made Golden state question their defensive scheme to stop him. "
Kazuha's words were full of pride in them as she spoke with confidence. She will never forget the headlines you made during that series and it was the buzz until the season ended. Expectations were set high for you following your next season and you didn't dissapoint at all.
"Oooh he sounds like a problem. So did he perform well his next season? Last year? Did he?"
Yunjin eagerly asked as Kazuha smiled and nodded her head.
"Yeah Unnie. He actually destroyed all expectations and showed the world and the team that he's legit. There were concerns about his fit with Lebron and AD but he showed them that he's a team player."
Everyone was taken aback by her remark. Few individuals can swallow their pride, especially in basketball, where many players are overly full of themselves and want to prove that they belong in the NBA. With the added pressure of playing with LeBron, your faith in yourself was unshaken, and it just fueled your desire to win.
"Seems like an amazing player. Also… He's kinda cute in a way.."
Yunjin said as she eyes you from Kazuha's phone. Chaewon sighed and gently smacked her arm reminding her that they are idols and not any ordinary people.
"Yah Huh Yunjin. Don't do anything stupid when we go to the states got it? We're still idols remember that."
Chaewon's leader side was showing as Yunjin could only laugh at her remark. Of course Yunjin was only half joking about her comment on you. Again, the word there is Half joking meaning, in a sense, she was admitting a small truth in her words.
"I know I know. I'm just half Joking Unnie hehehe~"
"Yah Yunjin."
The two began to do a playful banter as Kazuha was once again focused on the game. Sakura finally finished fixing the luggage of Eunchae who happens to wake up from all the noise her Unnies were doing.
"Did..did I miss something?"
Eunchae yawned as she slowly stretched her arms up trying to wake her body up.
"Not much. Just the typical chaos your used to Eunchae. Also, try to lessen your clothes in your bag. You have more clothes than me."
Sakura scolded their youngest who just cutely smiled at her as she knows that Sakura would listen to her no matter how much she scolds her. After all, Sakura loves her too much.
"It's fine Kkura Unnie. It's cold there in America and it's better to have thick clothing right? Hehehe~"
Eunchae did have a point as autumn has finally started in that country. But then again, Sakura knows that Eunchae would be spending a lot of her allowance in buying clothes there so what's the point of her grabbing many clothes when she will just buy new ones there? This somehow confused Sakura but she still had to scold her for it.
Meanwhile, the game concluded for the victory of the Lakers despite them struggling earlier on with their shooting which was always been the problem. There was this crazy conspiracy that all shooters that come to play for the Lakers suddenly forgot how to shoot the ball into the net. Of course seeing the terrible 3 point shooting of the Lakers pissed Kazuha off. But then again, the lights are the brightess in Los Angeles so that could be a huge contributor to why some of their players shoot bricks.
"Everyone! Have you all packed your stuff? Remember, we're going to watch the Lakers game in a few days from now after our short vacation in New York."
Their manager arrived in their dorm suprising everyone with what she just said. Kazuha's eyes widen hoping that she wasn't hearing things just now. Everyone was frozen shut as Chaewon tried to confirm what they all heard.
"Wait Unnie. We're.. We're going to watch an NBA Game? The lakers?"
Their manager nodded her head confirming that they infact heard the right thing.
"They Invited you girls to watch their game against the Clippers. And they also have you girls buy whatever you want in Los Angeles NBA store."
.
.
.
.
"Shit Man I'm tired.."
You sat in your place behind your locker as the squad pulled off a hard-fought triumph against the opposition. Playing on the road has always been difficult since the supporters would be cheering on their squad, which may be detrimental to any team. So you have to be prepared to perform well and bring your best against road opponents, otherwise the media will either condemn or acclaim you. There was no middle ground.
"Well we got the dub, that's all that matters. Now we have a 3 day rest before we return home and play against the Clippers"
Austin Reaves, your teammates spoke making you sigh deeply. Even though that team was in the same city as yours, they have been quite the nuisance with all the noise they have been making in social media. Sure some of those don't really affect you too much but the fact that ESPN always hype them up like that have achieve something annoyed you. For you personally, your a person who doesn't really have a talent to basketball at all.
You just worked your ass off to where you have been.
"Nah like they probably gonna play like it's Game 7 or something against us again."
Anthony Davis added to the group. Even though AD was a very dominant starting this season, there was. A few instances where he would dissappear in the 2nd half of the game and it's either Lebron, Dlo, Austin or you has to carry that slack up. But considering the start of this season, he's playing like a Defensive player of the year so far and the most important thing is that he's healthy to start the season.
"Don't let all that get in your heads. They wanna start putting all this in your head so that when the game arrives, you will be shaken"
As LeBron talked, the atmosphere in the room calmed down. He has always been admired and idolized by many people, and his skill set at his age just serves to reinforce why he is regarded as an all-time great in the sport of basketball. Not only that, but he has been an excellent mentor to you from your first year with the team. His training routines were difficult, but you kept going because you didn't want to be pleased with an alright outcome; you wanted a greater result.
"Alright Guys. Great win today but for now, let's all rest and pick up our practice once we returned to LA okay?"
Coach Darvin said as everyone nodded at him. He may have been doing some questionable lineup for the past 3 seasons but right now, with you at the starting lineup, he finally found the recipe to win games and close them out. Coach Darvin also has been a big part of your rise to all star level as he has been training you on and off the court about Basketball and about life as a whole. You got nothing but respect for him. As everyone was preparing to leave the arena and head to their hotel, Austin pulled you to the side confusing you.
"Hey man, let's walk around New York shall we?"
"For what?"
"Oh come on don't be a party pooper. This is the only time we get to New York you know. Come in dawg, I just wanna walk man."
You sighed at his recommendation. As weird as it sounds, This was the only time you'll visit the Knicks this season as the second time you'll meet would be in your home court. Most of the time, you'll face a team at least 3 times but for this season, You'll only face the Knicks twice. And New York has always been an iconic place in the whole world so why not visit it around right?
"Alright, alright."
"That's my brotha right there. Alright let's go."
Austin Changed his outfit to his regular clothes and by that, it mean his hoodie and pants. No fancy clothing or anything like that. Austin in your eyes has always been a simple man but you could guess that a huge part of that is his place of birth and growing up in.
As you two exited the arena, you were welcomed with a massive edifice and a plethora of lights that represented New York City's nightlife. You were surprised at how many people flocked to this location despite the large crowds. The numerous digital billboards drew your attention as award shows and musicians were advertised on the colorful billboard.
"This is so different than LA…"
Austin could only laugh at you remark as he couldn't help but add in his own joke.
"You should visit Arkansas, you'll be greeted by cows and beautiful grass than this."
"Sounds relaxing in my opinon."
He laughed as both of you continued to walk. Many kinds of act was caught by your eyes ranging from magic tricks, mimes and the one that caught your eye is a bunch of people dancing to some Korean music.
"Hey, why are there so many people dancing to a song they can't understand."
Austin looked at you rather annoyed and in disbelief. He was kinda caught off guard with your question as he took a few seconds to answer you.
"Dude, Music transcends language. It's a universal language that no words needed."
"Right…."
You realized how stupid you looked asking that question so you just decided to ask a different question this time. Something more reasonable.
"Then what music is that?"
"That's Kpop bro haven't heard of it?"
He looked at you with an eye raised eyebrow. He looked rather quite suprised by you not knowing Kpop since it's kinda blowing up in the west. Even kids nowadays nows Kpop and have many Kpop artist on their Spotify Playlist.
"Sorry I haven't. Educate me AR"
"Fuck you man. I'm older than you, But basically Kpop is Korean Pop. That's it. It has many groups doing many category of that genre."
"Such as?"
"Cute, girl crush, retro and many more. Some are experimental"
You were quiet suprised by the many genres of one music has but you have to consider that Kpop is a pop music and pop Music can vary from time to time depending on what the listener wants.
"I see…I wonder if Jen achieved being an Idol…"
"Who?"
You shook your head not wanting to confuse AR further. You just smiled and nodded your head.
"Sounds intriguing"
"Oh it is. Anyway, buy me a New York Hotdog rookie"
"But I'm already in my Sophomore year."
"Did I stutter?"
You groan at him and walked away from where he was standing. You can see him enjoying the people dancing to Kpop songs and for you, it was interesting to say the least. It's music was something you haven't heard yet and it's not bad to try something new once in a while. Perhaps you should take this Kpop music a thing a chance and who knows, you could end up enjoying it.
As you approached the food truck with Hotdog on the menu, your eyes searched for the neighboring hotdog stand. But something else drew your attention away from the menu. You noticed the merchant attempting to communicate in English with a female wearing a hat and mask. You could see the bewilderment and fear in her eyes. You sighed as you noticed a long queue forming behind her, so you sped your feet and stood behind her, hoping to assist her.
"Is everything okay Miss?"
You asked as she look behind you and you saw her look up from her height as her changes to look of confusion and worry to amazement.
"Uhh… Food.. Eerr….want..This.."
She was trying her best to communicate with her broken English as she pointed at the Hotdog with bacon in them. You immedietly knew what she was trying to say as you nodded and spoke her order.
"Sir, she's ordering 5 Hotdogs with bacon toppings in them."
And just like that, the vendor sold her 5 hotdogs which she payed well for. It wasn't much of a big deal for you helping her but in her eyes, she was so glad someone from a foreign land helped her.
"Ah thank you very much~"
Her voice was high pitched and you would though that she was a singer with how her voice sounded.
"It's no problem miss. Hope you enjoy your food"
"Ah, You too."
It was preety obvious that English wasn't her primary language as you can hear the forces accent in her words but you didn't pay mind to it as you just nodded your head as she left with her food and you ordered your own. You pulled out your wallet hoping that it wad empty but you forgot your a millionaire athlete as you cursed AR.
"Damn you Austin!"
.
.
.
.
Kazuha was lounging on her bed, watching highlights of the Lakers vs. Knicks game that had just ended. Despite their hunger, they waited for Chaewon to return with their New York Hot dogs with patience. Kazuha was so engrossed in the game highlights that she couldn't help but replay the highlight of the Lakers' action every time. But her heart would race as the scoreboard went from 2 to 7 down in an instant.
She is aware that the Lakers have a tendency to forget how to shoot, especially in crucial times, but based on the clips she was viewing, the Lakers were able to hold themselves to catch or tie the score. But, among the Lakers players she was watching on the phone, her gaze was drawn to you since your team's performance usually amazes her. She knows you had the ability to take over and fire as many rounds as you want, but you weren't pressing the trigger. Kazuha understands that basketball is a team sport, not an individual sport, and that getting the team involved in a play is what important in basketball.
"I'm back!"
Chaewon's voice made everyone look at her with a grin as their leader was back safely with food at hand. Eunchae ran out of her bed quickly as she rushed towards Chaewon sniffing the food in her hand.
"Gimme gimme gimme please~~"
Eunchae's cuteness was over the roof for Chaewon but Sakura once again scolded her.
"Yah, Eunchae Wait for everyone okay?"
Eunchae could only pout her lips as Kazuha pauses the video on her phone and went towards Chaewon with a small grin seeing her safe.
"Welcome home Unnie. How was your English skills?"
Yunjin smirked hoping to hear great news from her but Chaewon just simply chuckled and scratched the back of her head signaling that something didn't go well for her.
"Hehe… I kinda fumbled my English when I was speaking with a local. Hehehe…"
Chaewon shyly smiled as she felt embarrassed by what happened earlier. Everyone knew that Chaewon was confident in her English as she was practicing really hard for it and Kazuha knows it too. So for her to say that she failed means that Chaewon needed more practice. Sakura distrubuted the food to each one of them as Yunjin asked Chaewon.
"So how were you able to order this then Unnie?"
Their attention went to Chaewon who suddenly got embarrassed with their stares. For her, it felt she was the center of attention and she wasn't familiar with such feelings.
"Oh umm.. A tall person helped me out. I was kinda scared at first since he looked so tall but he ended up helping me out."
"A tall person? What does he look like Unnie?"
Eunchae asked seemingly intrigued as everyone else. Chaewon tried to recall your feature but the only thing she could remember was how nice you were to her.
"He's tall. I feel like he's an athlete and he's nice too."
Sakura widen her eyes as she immediately asked
"Does he look Japanese?!"
Chaewon shook her head making Sakura sigh and look away dissapointed. Kazuha noticed this and perhaps there was something more than what meets the eye for her.
"Well anyway, we should start getting ready after we eat as our flight will be tonight alright?"
Chaewon reminded them all that they still need to fly to LA since the Lakers invited them to their game. Kazuha suddenly got excited once again as the though of seeing you and the team as whole got her feeling excited and nervous at the same time.
.
.
.
.
After a few days of seeing Los Angeles and shopping at the NBA store, it was finally time to meet the Lakers and witness their game versus their hometown rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. When they arrived to the Staples Center, Kazuha was overjoyed. She never imagined witnessing a statue of Magic Johnson in front of her eyes, yet here she is. She took out her phone and began photographing the iconic Magic Johnson, but she was surprised when Mr. Magic appeared in front of them.
They were all looking uo to him who showed a sweet smile at them as they all shook their hands with him. Lesserafim was one of the tallest kpop idol group in south Korea especially Yunjin and Kazuha but standing next to Magic Johnson made them look like average people.
"It's nice to see and meet you girls. Congratulations to your shows Ladies. Can we take a picture?"
Despite him being tall, in their eyes, Magic Johnson was a big ball of sunshine who's smile radiates infront of them. But Kazuha was the most thrilled one when Magic himself asked for a picture with them. Her smile was reaching her ears as Magic Johnson told them to enjoy the lakers game which they will.
Their Manager told them to follow them as they will be guided to the Lakers court which at this point, everyone was excited to see but Kazuha was the most thrilled one. Wearing a custom jersey given to them by the Lakers, getting welcomed by a laker legend, taking a picture with him and now seeing the court first? This was a dream come true for Kazuha.
"Zuha your excitement is showing through your smile."
Sakura said as a chuckle escape from her mouth. Kazuha shyly blushed but smiled happily as her excitement was just off the roof right now. From watching the Laker on her TV and Phone to actually sitting Courtside and walking in the laker court was her dream come true.
"How can I Unnie? This feels so surreal and its my dream come true!"
Sakura could only laugh at her as they were walking the halls of the Lakers. Painting of the great players who wore the purple and gold was hanged on the walls as Yunjin and Kazuha were happily explaining who these players are. The rest were happily listening as they finally arrived at the court of the lakers. The arena was empty as the game wasn't until 10pm tonight. It was here that the girls realized how small they really are compared to NBA players.
"Wow… The rim is so tall.."
Eunchae said as she looked up the rim like it was a big giant tree infront of her. Yunjin chuckled and patted her shoulder.
"Thats why the NBA athlete are crazy good. Imagine shooting so far or even getting into the rim."
Eunchae nodded as the group spotted a few of their fans as well as they greeted them and had a chance to interact with them. Sakura smile quickly dissappeared when she noticed their fans jersey number familiar with her and a name that she was familiar with. Chaewon noticed this as she talked to her.
"Is everything Okay Unnie?"
"H-Huh? O-Oh yeah.."
Sakura returned her smile like usual but something didn't sit well with Chaewon. Meanwhile, Yunjin decided to take picture of them as a whole with the Lakers logo behind them. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to step foot on an NBA court and even walk on it. Their manager told them that the lakers have a suprise for them which got the girls intrigued. Eunchae wanted to know what the suprise is but instead, their manager told them that she can't reveal it yet as it will happen during the game.
The girls then went to their seats waiting for the game to start as the crowd was finally filling up the arena. One by one the players were coming out of the locker room and into the court as Chaewon and Yunjin gasped seeing a familiar face. Kazuha smiled happily to see her favorite player out and Sakura gasped seeing a ghost of her past.
"Y/N?!! YOU'RE AN NBA PLAYER NOW?!!"
Yujin's voice was so loud that despite the many people, you heard her as your eyes landed on her. You widen your eyes in suprise seeing Jennifer on the Courtside with a different hair color but you were damn sure she was that Girl you know back in New York. You smiled and went near her seat as Yunjin did the same. Kazuha was shocked that her favorite player was acquainted with Yunjin as Yunjin Rushes towards you hugging you tightly making the girls shocked.
"Y/N! It really is you!!"
Her tight embrace made you feel your chest getting crushed and the air shortening as you breath.
"J-Jen.. I.. Can't breath.."
"Opps. My bad hehe."
Yunjin chuckled as she let go of you. She looked you up and down looking so proud of you as her smile was the proof of that.
"Wow look at you, already an NBA player huh? Damn Daniels, I didn't know you were like that."
"What can I say? I'm guessing you made it too right?"
"You bet! Look look! My jersey is custom gifted by your team!"
Yunjin happily showed you her jersey which you were at awe from. You begin to question why the office didn't told you that a Kpop artist was in the building and more importantly, it was your friend Jennifer. Yunjin called upon her members as they made their way towards you. Chaewon was shocked because the person that helped her out back in New York was you.
"Hey guys meet my friend Y/N McDaniels."
They waved at you as Chaewon smiled at you cutely. Your eyes landed on Chaewon and her eyes immediately made you feel like you have seen her before.
"Have I… Seen you before Miss?"
Chaewon nodded as Yunjin gasped in suprised.
"Oh my! So your that tall person that helped her in that Hotdog stand?"
You nodded your head as Chaewon smiled and bowed at you thanking you for that time of helping her.
"I'm Kim Chaewon. Nice to meet you and thank you"
Her voice made you blush right away since you thought it was charming. Your face flushed with embarrassment as you realized what had happened. You were staring at five attractive females in front of you, and the notion made you feel self-conscious.
"Oh umm.. N-Nice to meet you too.. I-I mean nice to meet you all…"
Yunjin noticed your shy demeanor as a smirk appeared on her face. She playfully nudged you as she found a way to tease you.
"Hohoho~ Look at this, this guy is getting flustered~"
"W-Well why wouldn't I? I'm infront of 5 beautiful ladies."
Yunjin was taken aback by your response, as her cheeks grew rose-colored and her eyes widened. Her heart began to beat faster, and her pupils became wider. This sensation was familiar to her, but she didn't expect it to happen to you.
Kazuha decided to take over as she smiled and offered you a handshake which you accepted.
"Hi, I'm Nakamura Kazuha. I'm a fan of yours."
Kazuha brightly smiled and that alone made you blush even more. There was this pulling string towards Kazuha that got you staring at her beauty. Her smile was so bright that it lighten up your mood even though your not sad yourself.
Chaewon saw that you and Kazuha were staring at each other as she decided to grab your attention with a cough. That snapped both of you as you and Kazuha pulled each other's hand away from each other. Both your cheeks were blushing as Chaewon smiled and offered a handshake.
"Hi again. My name is Chaewon~"
Her cute voice reall got your heart racing and it got you feeling different. You shook her hand and just like Kazuha and Yunjin, her hand was soft and fluffy to touch as your blush only gotten redder.
"Thank you again for helping me."
"A-ah no it's nothing.. Anything to help."
"That's so cute to hear. Hehehe~"
If your think your cheeks couldn't get any redder, it just got redder. Chaewon has this cuteness factor which got you captivated and cling to her. In all honesty, she's quite dangerous for your heart as she could effortlessly grab your heart without you resisting.
"Me! Me! My turn! Me next!"
Eunchae was enthusiastic to meet you as Chaewon pulled away shyly. She herself felt lost in those eyes of yours as she blushes a little and looks away. Eunchae happily and energetically shook your hand which made you smile happily.
"Hong Eunchae!! Hehehe~"
She was really cute with her smile but what got you was her energetic aura that she was showing. She was like a pure ball of energy that just make you smile. In a sense, it made you feel like you need to protect her from the harshness of the world.
Last but not the least was Sakura who smiled happily at you as you shook her hand.
"I'm Miyawaki Sakura. Nice to meet you."
"Hi Ms. Sakura. Are you Japanese?"
"Yes I am."
"Ohhh just like Rui."
Sakura stood frozen upon hearing your word. Everything was starting to line up for her as to why she was given the jersey number by the lakers. Her suspicions could have been answered as You notice her staring blankly at you.
"Sakura? You alright?"
"H-Huh? O-Oh yeah. I'm fine. Is this Rui… Named Rui Hachimura?"
"Yeah."
That was it. Sakura was right all along. Rui Hachimura is here in the NBA. Her eyes began to dart everyone trying to look for him as Yunjin decided to slip in to talk to you again.
"Well you know our seat Y/N, that means you know where to look at hehe~"
Yunjin's words was kinda filled with teasing and a little bit flirty as Kazuha and Chaewon got what Yunjin was planning too. Chaewon was filled with worry about her Idol career if she was to get into a scandal with you. Kazuha on the other hand felt jealous that Yunjin was a step ahead of her when it comes to getting to know you. She pouted her cheeks as she looked down a little annoyed by herself.
"Alright, alright. Well I hope you enjoy the game guys."
You smiled once again before returning to the court warming up with your teammates. They returned to their seat as all of them began asking Yunjin how she was familiar with you. Sakura on the other hand was solely focusing her stare at one player, and his jersey number 28. She was feeling a mixed emotions seeing him as she has many questions more than answers.
"どうして私を捨てたの?"
(Why did you leave me?)
.
.
.
.
The buzzer sounded and the atmosphere was filled with energy coming from the lakers fan as a whole. Lesserafim was shocked to see how passionate the fans of the lakers were but they immediately got themselves immerse into the game.
When your name was introduced, Lesserafim was hyped up cheering you on as Yunjin and Kazuha took Out their phones taking a picture of you on the big screen.
youtube
After trailing and suffering from the 1st half, Lesserafim realized how stressful it is to watch a game for the Lakers and how great it feels to comeback from a huge lead. They could feel the intensity of the game and the support of the fan cheering on.
"Wow this is… So this is the feeling of Live NBA basketball.."
Kazuha said as her dream of being in the NBA has finally happened. It was dream come true for her seeing NBA players up live and seeing you up close.
"I think my throat is getting dry from screaming earlier…"
Eunchae remarked, making the others laugh. What she claimed was correct since they had entirely forgotten that they were Kpop Idols while immersed in the game. Sakura was screaming her lungs out trying to defend the Lakers from questionable fouls, Chaewon was trying to understand the game but she was also cheering and defending the Lakers, Kazuha was explaining the game to her but she was also cheering you on, and finally Yunjin was cheering and reacting to every play with her heart. Her expressions were spot on.
But despite the hardship, the Lakers managed to take a win against their hometown rival and was able to snap their 11 losing game streak with them. Their manager then decided that it was time for them to get the suprise they were anticipating. She smirked as she called Lesserafim over. Excitement was evident on their faces as they suddenly walked down to the tunnel as they were standing waiting for something.
And that something was unexpected to say the least. You came out holding their Album and a pen as your sweet smile made them know what your goal was. Yunjin was more than ecstatic to sign the album as she slowly began planning on how she'll write her number on the album. Kazuha was blushing as this was her one chance to get you more than just a player and as a friend. Perhaps down the line that friendship could evolve to something beautiful. Chaewon was feeling a little nervous as she was contemplating on whether or not she should be bold or keep her thoughts to herself. She wanted to know you more and be friends with you because she has this weird attraction towards you. Eunchae wants to have an NBA all star friend so she can boast it to her friends back at home.
But Sakura found this as an opportunity to find more about Rui. So when you went towards them holding their latest album, you kinda felt self conscious about yourself.
"Heh, Lesserafim Huh? Guess you girls have an NBA fan now."
Your words was all the thing they need to feel like they are on top of the world. Kazuha couldn't be more happier when you spoke those words. To her, this was the biggest dream come true for her. She couldn't be more proud of herself.
Chaewon was smiling ear to ear because she felt proud of their team as a whole. All their hardship and sacrifices has been paid off because now, they are being recognized by people who are adored and idolized in the world. That's not a feat that should be overlooked.
Yunjin on the other hand couldn't help but be proud of herself and to you. She knows the hardship you went through to get through here and she also have to give herself a pat on the back for this one. Her journey wasn't easy as well and there were many times where she though of quiting but she didn't. She pushed through and her determination proved to be rewarded.
"Can I have your autographs?"
You asked them and they happily complied. You were feeling nervous about getting your album signed by the artist themselves but you noticed how Yunjin turned the album around and wrote something else as a Smriks appeared on her face.
"Don't show this to the camera okay? It's my number~"
That made you blush as your eyes widen looking at her. Kazuha knew Yunjin already did something to make you blush so she did the same thing. After signing from the front, she turned it around and wrote her own number as she looked up to you blushing shyly. She quickly turned away with a blushing face but no words were needed to know her intentions.
Chaewon sighed as she already knew what those 2 did but she ended up doing it as well. After all she also has her own goals with you so this time, she choose to be a little selfish.
"That's my gift for winning tonight. Hehe~"
Again, Chaewon's cute voice really got you like a blushing mess as she was very dangerous for your heart. Eunchae followed what her Unnies did but instead of her number, she placed her IG account there.
"You have my permission to talk to me hehe~"
Eunchae's silliness made you chuckle as you almost forgot that 3 beautiful idols handed you their number like it was nothing. Sakura wrote her signature and didn't turn the album instead she asked you.
"Is Number 28 gonna walk here?"
"Oh Rui? Yeah he will. He's just busy doing some interview right now but he'll be here"
"Thank you and congrats on the win."
Sakura smiled as you thanked her and smiled as well. You took picture with the group and signed their custom jersey as well before they could depart in the arena. Yunjin and Kazuha wanted to stay with you more but their manager told them that they have to return back to their hotel now. As sad as it seems, everything wasn't in vain as they gave you a way to connect with them. It made you feel a little sad that you could have spent more time with them but that little time was enough for you.
You looked back at the album and you smiled a little knowing that something could start with this chance. But as you look further on the album, you saw an unfamiliar hand writing that says…
"MY LAKER STAR"
.
.
.
.
Rui just finished his interview and was feeling great after that win. He was smiling ear to ear until a familiar person made him stop walking. Sakura closed her eyed before opening them and showing a bittersweet smile. A smile that hold so much emotion but has no happiness.
"It's been a while… Rui.."
"Sakura…."

“Meu Amor”
pairing: inês bettencourt x oc
fluff
prompts:
inês is out playing with the portugal team and you surprise her
“meu amor, i miss you so much” inês said with a slight pout on the face, she was on her fiba europe tournament representing Portugal in Lithuania. she had been extremely excited all summer over that tournament and had been telling you on how she hoped she was picked so she could represent her country. “ i miss you too baby, so much, i wish i could be there with you” i said not lying in a single word, i truly missed my girl and being 30 hrs away from one another with a 7 hour time difference was heavy on both. “ i wish i could hug you and kiss you, i miss those big cheeks “ she said with a sly smile at the last phrase. i laughed the least i could because being sick in the summer sucks and not being to able to be with your girlfriend for something she loves also sucks but laughing and your throat hurting sucked even more.
“i’m finally on my last days of meds, i’m definetly feeling better! how was your game? how did you feel?” i said trying to get some words out of her “ well in all honestly we were pretty tense at first, i guess we were nervous but after a while we got the hang of eachother and did pretty well. i dedicated you a basket”
“oh yeah? which one?” i laughed know she just came up with that, whenever she plays she is always locked in and doesn’t think about anything but the game, but i let her keep talking. “the one where i did a right handed reverse layup” a big smile came out of her proud of her accomplishment on court. “well ok, if you say so” i was getting tired the time delay had me crazy and all i wanted was to be with my girl, she was doing some stuff around her hotel room “hey babe” i said “i’m going to sleep now, it’s late and you know i’ve got to get some rest” “ oh yeah of course, i love you, sleep well and get better please” i smiled hanging up the phone.
to her surprise she didn’t know i was lying, i was sick and did feel bad from time to time but i was on my way out of being sick and on my way to Lithuania. ever since she got the news on her secured placed for the team i knew i had to give her a big surprise, i told her that i wouldn’t be able to go and that i had to stay over summer for work and family, when really i had bought plane tickets and reserved my hotel to watch her in every single game. knowing how much this meant for her i knew she would love this. i was on my way to the airport and finally after a couple of layovers i was exhausted. in the process i had received messages from inês that she wanted to facetime but i had to make up excuses saying i was too tired and felt bad. i actually felt kind of bad for lying to her but i knew it would be so worth it. a whole day without hearing her voice i was exhausted from all the traveling.
as i took a taxi to take me to my hotel i swear i was going to faint, how do people deal with this it’s just too much. arrived at the hotel checked in and had my room ready, i ran like a little kid as fast as i could to my room, key in hand i opened the door and as soon as i was inside i plugged my phone and fell asleep hard.
i woke up to my ringtone and checked the screen, inês was calling “ shit” i said to myself, what would i say to her? she will notice the background being unusual, maybe i will just tell her i am out somewhere, yeah let’s say that. with my hair in a big mess and the darkest eyes bags in the world i ran to the bathroom coating my face with cold water to wake up,knowing she might get upset if i don’t respond since it’s been almost two days of my traveling, then i hear the ringing stop but a bunch of notifications sounds came up. oh was she worried now. “shit, ughhh” this surprise was going heaviness than expected.
i read her messages and they went something alike ‘are you feeling better?, goodnight love you, we won!!, goodmorning to the most beautiful girl!, are you okay baby?, are you okay? in worried you haven’t been answering’ and in all honestly i was so tired i lacked mobile service the whole trip and all of the wifi sucked so i most definitely had not been notified of her messages through the whole trip. i now feeling bad for everything called her. “inês hello baby” i tried to say as cheerful as i could with all the little energies i had, i put on a big smile for my girl. “ meu amor, você me deixou preocupado” she said quickly definitely as she said worried. “ oh no, don’t worry i am ok it’s just been really long couple of days and you know they are heavy” “ oh, i’m glad you are okay, i was so worried, how are you feeling now ? do i finally have a healthy girlfriend to kiss when i get back home?” i laughed out loud “yes i am officially well of health” yeah right ms.big eye bags “i’m so glad” “ i’ve been seeing your games! but how do you feel?you have been doing amazing bringing the team good points and amazing assistance as always”i commented changing the topic so she didn’t notice and would concentrate on something else,”the girls have been good” and she went on ranting about everything going on. god i cant wait to kiss her again she’s so beautiful and i’m only watching on a screen cannot wait to see her in real life.
the morning went on as our talk was cut short because she had a game later in the evening so she had to warmup and all that. i took my opportunity to shower, get ready, did my make up and dressed cute in her UConn jersey. took a taxi to the stadium and i was so nervous to surprise her, thankfully i had reached out to one of her closest friends from the team and was getting updates from everything going on. she and i had been communicating and she was the only one who knew i would be surprising her and helped me get everything set up. heading to the stadium and arriving i made sure to text anya that i was here and also sent a good luck text to inês like always just so she didn’t start suspecting anything. i sat in the public section and hoped she didn’t see me till the end.
as the game went on portugal was a couple points down but they still had 5 minutes in the fourth quarter. inês was in the game, as you cheered from the bleachers still not spotted by your girlfriend, you kept screaming and cheering for the team. they were catching up and were only five points apart and in that moments inês had just banked a three and as loud cheers came from your mouth , celebrating that your girl had been closing the game up. her teammates kept playing a to a near lever of the actual floor and as inês and the team were going into the hall to go to their locker rooms, anya had spotted you and told you exactly at what time the team would go to the bus so that you could come out of it before everyone went in.
you followed her instructions clearly, as you were now on the bus that would take them to the same hotel you were staying in. a few minutes passed and you were talking to the driver about stupid and common things, you received a notification “ babe! we won!!” a text from inês came in, along with a bunch of smiley face emojis. in that exact moment you also received a text from anya saying they were on their way, which made cut the conversation with the driver as she closed the doors so you could surprise your girl.
as you saw them walk out of the building all in their uniforms with their sweats and full of bags you knew this was the time. they kept approaching the bus and as soon as the doors were opening you waited until someone stepped in , anya. as soon as she was in she told you that everyone in the team knew and that it’s for to go out, those words fell out of her mouth which made me run out of the bus. i went down the steps and every turned to look at me while my girlfriend was looking at something in her bag, a teammate poked her arm, then she turned and looked up.
she stayed still, but a big smile started to form on her mouth, she ran as quick as she could dropping everything and went straight to hugging you. the hug was so full and felt so comfortable, finally being back into my girlfriends arms. we separated and her questions came right up “meu amor, what are you doing here omg” she looked at me in shock, inspecting my face to look out for any answer “i though you were in connecticut, i can’t believe you are here”. “surpriseee” i said with a big smile, she hugged me again and gave me a small peck.
while the team was on their way to the hotel on the bus i had to call a taxi once again. as soon as my ride arrived at the hotel, inês was waiting for me at the entrance. “let me hold this bag for you pretty lady” she said in an exaggerated deep voice, i only laughed as we started talking. arriving in my room now ours, i went ahead and explained her my whole plan” i know how important this is for you and i wnat to make it known that i’m willing to be there for you always” i told her, my words full of sincerity “meu amor, i love you, thank you for this”

19 ⸺ YERI
warnings: none
word count: 3.6k
part of the series: LOGICAL
Tumblr media
“yeri, your shoes are untied.”
the five year old looked down at her shoes, the laces flopping around her tiny ankles. she fumbled with them, her small fingers struggling to tie them properly. her aunt, kim taeyeon, crouched beside her, offering a gentle hand.
“let me help you with that,” taeyeon said, tying the laces with practiced ease. “we wouldn’t want you tripping on the court.”
yeri’s eyes shone with adoration as she looked up at her aunt. she had spent hours watching videos of the olympian playing, studying every move taeyeon made with complete fascination. the sheer power of her gameplay had captivated yeri from a young age, and even though she was young, yeri knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life.
“i want to be just like you, aunt taeyeon,” yeri mentioned as she put her hands on her hips, her voice filled with determination. “i want to be an olympian too.”
taeyeon’s heart warmed at yeri’s words. she had always been a source of inspiration for her niece, but hearing yeri express such a clear desire to follow in her footsteps was both humbling and motivating. she gently ruffled her niece’s hair before standing back up.
“then let's get you started.”
looking back, yeri didn’t know how taeyeon didn’t give up on her. the first time she tried dribbling, the ball bounced off of her foot and went off the court somewhere to the side. when she tried a layup, she jumped far too early and completely missed the backboard.
each mistake felt like a small defeat, but taeyeon was always there, offering gentle corrections and endless encouragement.
“it’s okay to make mistakes,” taeyeon would say softly. “it’s just another step towards getting better.”
yeri remembered those early sessions vividly—her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, her heart sinking with every clumsy move. but her aunt’s unwavering support was like a steady beacon, guiding her through the frustration. whenever yeri felt like giving up, her aunt’s voice reminded her why she started and why it was worth pushing through.
as yeri grew, her skills started to improve, but the journey was far from smooth. she struggled with coordination, her form still imperfect. yet, each small victory—whether it was a successful dribble or a well-placed shot—felt monumental after all the challenges she’d faced. it was clear that her progress came from relentless practice and taeyeon’s unyielding belief in her.
then came the day when everything shifted.
yeri and y/n were curled up on the couch, watching an old video of taeyeon’s game. the screen showed taeyeon dribbling and making a spectacular pass.
“look at aunt taeyeon!” yeri said, her eyes glued to the tv. “she’s so fast and cool.” y/n, only five at the time, slowly blinked and pointed at the tv with her small hand. “her,” she said, pointing to one of the defenders on screen. “she’s looking the wrong way. that’s why she didn’t see my mom.”
yeri squinted at the screen. “oh, i mean i guess. but didn’t you see the pass?” the older girl was confused. she had watched this game numerous times, and she knew her aunt was good, but it never dawned on her to look at anyone else on the court.
“uh-huh,” y/n nodded quickly, “but that other girl wasn’t even watching. and the one on the other side didn’t move fast enough. they should’ve been closer to my mom.”
kim yeri’s confusion deepened. she knew y/n had seen her fair share of her mother’s games, but y/n’s observations were on another level. yeri watched as her younger cousin picked apart every detail with ease.
“wow,” yeri said, still trying to catch up. “i didn’t notice any of that. i just saw aunt taeyeon being amazing.”
“yeri, are you ready?” taeyeon’s voice cut through the living room as she pulled a cap over her head. her sharp eyes quickly glanced at the tv before chuckling softly. “you’re watching that again?”
the older girl looked up, a mixture of embarrassment and eagerness on her face. “it’s almost done, aunt taeyeon. i was just showing y/n how you play.”
the olypmian’s gaze shifted to her daughter, who was still absorbed in the game. “oh, and what do you think of it, kiddo?” y/n looked up with wide eyes, hesitantly turning back to the tv to answer her mother’s question.
“the girl in blue didn’t look the right way.”
taeyeon raised an eyebrow, intrigued. she glanced at the screen, watching her younger self set up another play for her team. it was one of the earlier games of her career, against japan in a showcase tournament. she remembered it like it was yesterday, as she did with every game.
“really? what else do you see?”
y/n pointed at the screen, her tiny finger tracing the movements. “that girl didn’t move fast enough, and that other one was too far away. i think they should have been closer to you, mommy.”
sharp eyes widened slightly, a mixture of surprise and pride crossing her face. her daughter definitely had the eyes for the game, especially at such a young age. taeyeon’s mind raced with the possibilities.
“you know what? i think it’d be great if you practiced with yeri from now on.”
the gym was buzzing with excitement as the middle school basketball teams prepared for their big game. yeri, now in 7th grade, was a starting player for the a team. her 6th-grade cousin, y/n, had been placed on the same team as a third-string point guard. despite being so low on the roster, it was a rare opportunity for a younger player to compete against 7th and 8th graders.
“yeri?” the mentioned girl looked at her cousin while they quickly finished stretching. “what’s wrong?” the older girl asked, concern etched in her features. “did someone tell you something?” she quickly looked around, her head scanning the court and the crowd for no one in particular. yeri was used to her aunt’s reputation becoming intertwined with hers. she was used to the small comments and the comparisons. however, she knew that her younger cousin was going to have it worse than she did, especially since she was already making her own mark.
y/n pointed to yeri’s shoes, which were once again untied. “your laces are untied.” she said softly as she glanced over at her mother, who was watching in the stands. “my mom was looking at them, too.”
“aw man, again?”
the game started with high intensity. yeri and her teammates gave it their all, but by the end of the third quarter, they were trailing by 20 points. the scoreboard glared with the opposing team’s lead, and frustration was evident on the faces of yeri and her teammates.
taeyeon, sitting in the stands with a mix of concern and hope, glanced over at her daughter. y/n was seated on the bench, fidgeting with the hem of her yellow jersey. the olympian always hated yellow jerseys, but seeing her daughter in one made her reconsider her opinion.
as the game dragged on, the score gap widened, and taeyeon’s worry grew. her daughter, despite her exceptional talent, was sitting on the bench. she watched as y/n’s small figure shifted restlessly, her determination evident even from a distance.
“come on,” she muttered under her breath as her eyes shifted to the coach. “put her in already.”
the coach paced along the sidelines, clearly stressed by the way the game was slipping away. with just minutes left in the third quarter and the team down by twenty points, he finally looked toward y/n. he hesitated, glancing between his first-string players and the eager 6th grader sitting on the end of the bench.
taeyeon knew her age wasn’t the only reason why he didn’t want to put her in. he knew exactly who y/n’s mother was—everyone did. taeyeon’s legacy loomed large, and the former olympian could tell he didn’t want to be accused of favoritism.
however, there was also an edge of resentment beneath his hesitance, a belief that y/n was only where she was because of her mother’s name.
he had been the same way with yeri when she first joined the team, but it wasn’t nearly as bad. yeri had to prove herself too, but y/n? she was met with even colder shoulders, sharper critiques, and an unspoken expectation that she had to be flawless just to be seen as average.
y/n knew she could turn things around, but she was also well aware of why she wasn’t being put in.
taeyeon clenched her jaw, watching the coach as he stubbornly kept y/n benched. it was infuriating. the game was slipping away—twenty points down and only one quarter left. the starters looked exhausted, and the second string had already faltered, but he still refused to call on her daughter.
she could see the frustration building in y/n, who was still fidgeting with her jersey, glancing at the court with impatience. yeri was getting frustrated, too. whenever yeri wasn’t with y/n, she got frustrated. taeyeon knew this firsthand since she had been training yeri and y/n had been training together for years.
yeri was always sharper, more focused, when y/n was on the court with her. without her younger cousin, yeri’s movements were getting sloppy, her frustration leaking into every play. it was a vicious cycle—yeri messed up, got mad at herself, and then messed up again. taeyeon could see it all unfolding like a bad rerun, and their coach was either too blind to notice or too stubborn to care.
yeri, despite her best efforts, kept glancing toward the bench where y/n sat. the gap between them wasn’t just physical—it was mental. y/n was the calming presence that kept yeri’s nerves in check, and right now, she was spiraling without that anchor. the whole team was unraveling, and everyone could see it except the one person who could do something about it.
finally, with a scowl that made it clear he was acting out of desperation rather than belief in y/n’s abilities, the coach yelled, “kim! get in there!”
taeyeon’s eyes narrowed at the way he spoke to her daughter, but y/n didn’t flinch. she simply nodded and jogged onto the court, her small frame brimming with confidence that belied her years. for just one moment, y/n took a quick glance back at her mother.
the olympian’s lips curved into a small smile, and y/n knew she had her mother’s full support.
once y/n stepped on the court, something shifted. despite her small size compared to the older players, there was a sense of calmness about her. the moment the ball was in her hands, she scanned the court like she was reading a book. it wasn’t about her skill alone—it was about how she understood the game at its core.
yeri’s frustration physically vanished off her features once she saw her younger cousin in action. it was like a switch flipped. the uncertainty that had clouded yeri’s play all game melted away as she watched y/n take command of the court. despite being a year younger and significantly shorter than the eighth graders towering around her, y/n played with a level of poise and intelligence far beyond her age.
y/n didn’t waste time trying to impress anyone with flashy moves. instead, she focused on breaking down the defense, picking apart their weaknesses like it was second nature. she noticed how the tallest girl on the other team was slow on her rotations, how one of the guards kept favoring her right side, and how another player hesitated every time she switched on defense. y/n exploited all of it with simple but effective plays, directing her teammates with quick gestures and sharp glances.
yeri, catching onto y/n’s rhythm, fell right in line. the way they played together felt like clockwork—smooth, precise, and unforced. y/n knew exactly where yeri would be without even looking, and yeri trusted her cousin completely, letting go of the tension that had plagued her earlier in the game. they worked in tandem, reading each other’s movements as naturally as breathing.
the other players started feeding off y/n’s energy, and within just mere moments, they began chipping away at the lead. taeyeon leaned forward, her heart pounding as the gap narrowed.
every time y/n made a play, it was like watching a young version of herself—but there was something different, something more refined.
the game ended with their school winning, and y/n had managed to help beat the opposing team by 10 extra points. from that day forward, y/n was chosen as the starting point guard for every single game that season.
the summer heat hung heavy in the air as yeri and y/n sat side by side on the old court they’d spent so many hours on as kids. the echoes of bouncing balls and squeaking sneakers had faded, leaving only the quiet hum of cicadas and the faint buzz of distant traffic.
y/n was on the brink of entering ygu as a first-year student while yeri was about to enter her second year. the younger girl leaned back against the cool metal of the bleachers while yeri sat beside her, staring at the worn-down lines of the court with a distant look in her eyes. ygu’s summer training started in just a week, but taeyeon had the two girls working since the day they got out for summer vacation.
in the past, yeri would be over the moon knowing that she’d finally be able to practice in a gym with air conditioning instead of outside in her aunt’s backyard court. but this time, it felt different. she wasn’t looking forward to anything.
y/n nudged her cousin with her shoulder. “you okay, yeri? you’ve been quiet all afternoon.” yeri sighed softly, her fingers absentmindedly picking at a loose thread on her shorts. “i’ve just been thinking a lot.”
“about what?”
yeri took a moment to think before slowly answering. “about basketball, i guess.” her voice wavered slightly. “i don’t know if i want to play anymore.” y/n’s eyes widened in surprise, but she didn’t immediately say anything. instead, she waited, letting yeri find the words.
“it’s not that i hate it,” yeri continued, her gaze fixed on the cracked asphalt beneath her shoes. “but i’ve never loved the game the way you do. not like how your mom loves it, or how you light up whenever you talk about it.” she paused, swallowing hard. “i just don’t think i need to play anymore.”
y/n frowned, tilting her head to the side in utter confusion. yeri spoke a lot of nonsense before, but this was different. she could tell her cousin was serious about this. “why do you think that?” the younger girl asked gently.
yeri finally met y/n’s eyes, her expression torn but she managed to force a small smile. “when you started playing, i felt like i had to protect you.”
y/n’s frown deepened, her young face etched with concern. she couldn’t quite grasp why her cousin was talking like this. yeri had always been the confident one, the one who looked out for her, guided her, and made sure she never felt alone. the thought that yeri might be struggling with something so serious left her unsettled. “protect me from what?” the younger player asked softly, her voice barely louder than the crickets in the distance.
her cousin took a shaky breath, struggling to put her thoughts into words. “you were so little when you started, y/n. you had all this talent, but you didn’t see the pressure it put on you. and then everyone started comparing you to your mom—hell, they compared me to her too. but for you, it was so much more intense. i felt like i had to shield you from all that, like if i could just be by your side, people wouldn’t be so harsh.”
y/n’s eyes widened as she realized the weight yeri had been carrying all this time. she knew the whispers and the expectations, but she never knew how much they’d affected yeri. “but you don’t have to protect me, yeri. i’m not afraid of what people think.” she replied, moving to lean closer to her older cousin.
“i know you’re not,” yeri said with a small chuckle, though it lacked her usual energy. “you’ve always been fearless, even when everyone’s watching. but me? i guess i’m tired, y/n. i’ve spent so long worrying about what others think of both of us that i lost sight of whether or not i even want to play.”
the younger girl’s gaze softened, understanding dawning in her eyes. yeri had always been her rock, but now it was time for her to be there for her older cousin. “you don’t have to play for me. you don’t have to protect me either. i’m strong enough now, because you helped me get there.”
the older player chuckled once more, shaking her head lightly before turning to look at her cousin right in the eyes. “you’re the number one player in the country and you haven’t even started a collegiate career yet. you’ve always had that drive, that spark. and i’m proud of you, y/n. i’ve always been. but i guess i’m just not sure if basketball is what i want for myself anymore.”
she knew y/n’s heart was going to break, but she forced herself to stay calm. y/n tried to collect her thoughts quickly, but the reality of what was happening was starting to set in.
“but you’re my teammate, yeri. you’ve always been there with me, through all of it. i don’t want to play without you.”
yeri gave a small, sad smile. “you don’t need me, though. you never did. you’re more than good enough to make it on your own.”
“but it’s not the same without you,” the younger kim insisted as she rose from her seated position and turned to fully face her cousin. “it’s not just about basketball. you’ve been my best friend, my partner, the one who’s always had my back. every time i picture playing in college, i picture us together. i don’t care how good i am or how far i go if you’re not there with me.”
“y/n,” yeri whispered as bit her lip, looking torn. the older girl didn’t know what to do anymore, or how to feel. “you’re going to be an olympian one day. you’re made for this. i’m not.”
“you think i want to be an olympian without you?” y/n’s voice cracked slightly as she spoke. “what’s the point of reaching all those goals if i’m doing it alone?”
her older cousin stayed silent for a moment, processing the younger’s words. she knew y/n meant every bit of what she was saying, but the truth was basketball wasn’t in her heart the way it was in y/n’s.
still, one thing was clear—she couldn’t imagine stepping away and not being there to watch her cousin achieve everything she was destined for.
“i want to see you succeed more than anything,” yeri said softly as she pointed a finger up at her cousin. “and i want to be there when you get to where you’re supposed to be because you deserve it. you’ve worked so hard, but i don’t want to keep playing if it’s just out of obligation. it has to mean something more.”
“but it does mean more,” y/n said, her voice growing quieter. “it’s us. we’ve always been a team, yeri. you’ve always pushed me to be better, whether you realize it or not.”
the older girl felt her chest tighten while the weight of her decision hung heavy. she had already told taeyeon at the start of the summer that she might not come back to the court this season, but her aunt told her to take some time to truly think about it.
however, the ashes of yeri’s desire were still burning. she realized it wasn’t about her wanting to play or not, it was about what it all meant to her. basketball, taeyeon, y/n—they weren’t separate reasons but pieces of one whole. it was about family.
she wanted to play not just for herself, but with her family.
“alright,” she said, her voice thick with emotion. “i’ll keep playing. not because i’m in love with basketball, but because i’m in love with seeing you do what you were born to do. i want to see you get there, and i want to be right by your side when you do.”
y/n’s face broke into a relieved smile as she threw her arms around her cousin. “you won’t regret it, yeri. we’re gonna do this together, just like we always have.” yeri hugged her back tightly, hoping that, in some way, continuing this journey together would help her rediscover the joy she once felt.
if nothing else, she knew she’d be there for y/n, every step of the way.
and maybe, just maybe, that would be enough.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
“bitch im from New Orleans this my state.” you said to the blonde in front of you. you where heated as you made a 3 on her as she tried to block it. she had nothing on you. you where from Louisiana so you had no issue playing against Louisiana state, like you said this was your state. she walked towards you and bumped your chest and said “you lost to iowa shut the fuck up” this stupid white girl. you tried to push her off of you but before you could Kamilla was quick to step in between you. “Y/n calm down, games almost over lets just win this” thankfully your girl Kamilla was always looking out for you and making sure you don’t get into trouble as the teams started to form a circle and refs where walking up to you guys getting ready to hand out techs. you quickly walk away not wanting do get any more fouls as you already had 3. you want back to your position death staring Hailey and the game starts with angel having the ball trying to get out the tight position with Kamilla guarding her and she passes it in between Kamilla’s legs to Hailey, and Hailey dribbled the ball into the paint making a layup that you tried to block but only missed by 2 inches. “yeah, Y/n your my bitch” you push her to the floor the second you hear those words leave her mouth causing Faujae to come to you and push you away from Hailey but as soon as Flaujae touches you, you see hear knocked to the ground by Kamilla. the teams quickly surround you guys and you hear the refs whistle blow as you see that you, Kamilla and your teams entire bench being ejected to the locker room as well as Louisiana’s bench along with Flaujae. you try and argue but the ref quickly dismisses you and ignores you, you and your team walk to the locker room and you throw yourself into a seat pouting and Kamilla sits next to you reassuring you that our team will be fine and we where going to come out with the dub. once the game was over and you seen that you won interviewers came into the locker room to interview your team after the physical encounter with yours and Louisiana’s bench. Holly Rowe was the interviewer and you had experience with her so it wasn’t awkward and she knew how to hold her tone with you respectfully so she started it with calm questions but you knew the real reason why she was there, she wanted to talk about Hailey. “Y/n what happened on the court with Hailey out there, what did she say to you?” you truly felt bad for the way you handled Hailey. you wanted to apologize cause at the end of the day you should have held yourself together instead of letting her get that reaction out of you. “honestly Holly i don’t remember what she said but thinking about the moment i should’ve handled it better, i have nothing but good things to say about Hailey she has had a great season she is a great player and the way she handled the situation was very professional and when i get the chance i will apologize to her and i would like to apologize to Kim Mulkey as well because im not that type of player and i regret the way i acted in the moment.” she nodded a long and wrapped it up with questions about how you felt about winning and if you think your team will make it to the final 4.
after all the press and interviews you made your way out of the locker room only to see Hailey dealing with interviewers, you quickly make eye contact deciding you wanted to take it as your shot to apologize so you wait for the interviewers to leave to start your apology. “Hailey i know you probably don’t want to hear this but i just wanted to apologize for the way i acted on the court im just really competitive and that isnt a excuse but im really, really sorry.” she just sits there for a second and laughs at you. “your really expect me to believe that half ass apology.” she was right your apology was really shitty but you where sincere “it isnt a half ass apology im serious im really here to apologize.” trying to convince her that you where serious was harder then you expected, she was clearly holding some animosity “okay.” you sat there waiting for her to say something else but quickly realized she blamed you for the whole thing “so you don’t want to apologize for the way you acted? you played a part in this to.” she scoffs rolling her eyes. “what do i have to apologize for your the one who acted like a child on the court. all i said was that your my bitch because you are.” she shrugs her shoulders with no emotion, her body was all sweaty and her jersey was showing off her strong muscles fitting her body in the perfect places “last time i checked i won so if you want to be real, your MY bitch Hailey.” she smirks while thinking for a second on what to do next she looks around seeing if there was any reporters in the hallway still, her hand quickly finds its way to your neck pulling you in for a kiss.
you find yourself in your locker room in a make out sesh with the girl you just assaulted on the court. her body’s on top of yours holding your wrist above your head as your back arches onto her stomach. your hands are pulling at the hem of her jersey begging her to let you take her jersey off. she takes her jersey off along with yours and your shorts leaving you in your bra and panties. your mouth finds her way back to your neck leaving a trail of kisses all the way down to your stomach. her fingers lingered on the hem of your panties as she placed kisses on your inner thighs teasing you, you groaned in frustration wanting her to touch you. “Hailey, please just touch me already” you can feel her smile against your thighs as she pushes your panties to the side running her fingers through your folds placing small kisses on your clit. before you complain again you feel her mouth attach to your clit with her toung running through you wet cunt. she brings her right hand up to play with your breast leaving the left one around your waist to hold you down. “Hailey… please don’t stop, feels so good.” you arch your hips into her face trying to get her closer if it was even possible. “i wont baby, promise” you let out a soft moan bringing your hand to her head getting tangled in her hair “so pretty” you whimper at the feeling of her mouth leave you soaked cunt. “yeah? 1 finger pretty or 2 finger pretty?” now her fingers teasing you, rubbing fingers on your clit “f-fuck, 2 finger pretty” she slowly enters her middle and rings finger into you while rubbing figure eights on your sensitive clit, you felt a knot forming in your stomach getting so close to your release. “m’gonna cum” you struggled to get your sentence out feeling the knot about to explode. “hold it just a little longer pretty. you think you can do that?” you whimper at her words nodding your head and she continues her assault with your pussy as she brings her mouth making heart shaped hickeys on your neck while mumble sweet nothings into your ear. “its okay baby you can let go now” her words where enough to make your vision go blurry and you arched your back off of the cold for and she talked you through your orgasm “yeah thats it, just like that all over my fingers” you where at loss of breathe as the blonde girl slowly took her fingers out of you making you feel empty again as she licked her fingers while looking at you under her “you look so pretty fucked out like this” you grab at her waist pulling her on top of you into another kiss she pulls away making eye contact with you as she says “so what was that about me being your bitch again?”

I wasn't impressed with CC, but this post had two of my fave highlights from the game - AT showing what it takes to want the ball (and be an Olympian) to looking like an absolute amateur with the airball. All that's missing is the Dijonai strip/layup just before the half. Clark's body language screamed defeat.
And all of that woudn't be such a bad thing if it was just rookie growing pains (which it is, to be fair.) But the atmosphere around the game was just bizarre. I got to Mohegan Sun around 5pm, as usual for a 7pm tip. The line to get into the arena was packed in the area in front of the box office and wrapping around the hall near the entrance to the Wolf's Den and down past the Comix Roadhouse. All the balcony restaurants (I'm partial to Landsdowne) had a 30-40 minute wait. So many people in Fever/Iowa/Clark shirts - which would be great if they were there as team fans. I've been to Red Sox games in Baltimore and Toronto where we outnumbered the home fans and it was a positive experience.
Spoiler alert: The majority of people in Clark shirts were not Fever fans.
The game was sold out and the arena was loud. Sun fans were the majority, but there's usually not a ton of vocal support for opposing teams/players (exception being UCONN alums). This was generally true for the Fever support, with scattered cheering and applause for buckets. Not so when CC scored - which, if I remember correctly, was a lay-up, two threes and two FT. Sections of the crowd were screaming their minds out. It was truly weird.
Then there was the "We want Caitlin!" chants throughout the fourth quarter. You guys know this is a team sport, right? And that Caitlin wasn't very effective when scoring 10 against 4 fouls while she was on the floor?
I don't engage with much WNBA twitter stuff, but my experience today makes me think CC fans don't care all that much about the Fever, the league or basketball in general. They care about stanning Caitlin Clark.
Also, the Fever need to work the offense through Aliyah Boston more and the Sun need to get Moriah Jefferson more minutes. Enjoy your day!

It's been a minute, ain't it? Trying to get back in the groove. Please, accept this peace offering.
Tumblr media
In the dead of night, the backyard had become a raucous arena and mental prison all at once.
Moonlight and stars provided just enough light to illuminate the back half of the only basketball court in the neighborhood with someone crazy enough to put up shots hours before the sun would rise. Jayson’s face and hair caught a glow as he put up a half-hearted jump shot that loudly clunked off the back iron. He cursed to himself before trotting to retrieve the basketball.
He was in an unimaginable slump. One tough game became three in a row then a full two weeks of subpar shooting numbers and growing frustration. Blaming his misfortune on a nagging wrist injury would make sense, but he didn’t want the sympathy. He wanted the win.
Across the short path leading to the house, you watched him talk his way through a reverse layup that kissed the rim but didn’t fall.
“Fuck!”
The ball was no match for his anger, receiving a hard bounce against the court before he regained control and tapped it against his forehead several times.
You stopped short of the metal gate and cleared your throat to announce your presence. “You know you have an HOA right? Those quiet hour fines are steep.”
“I’ll pay it. Wouldn’t be the first time.” He answered with his back turned to put up another missed shot. In frustration, he slapped the ball across the court before finally facing your sympathetic expression. He sighed. “I woke you up?”
“No. I had a bad dream and came out for some air.”
Jayson accepted your partial truth with a nod. He was too tired to press for more answers. The world was on his shoulders. The last thing he had energy for was extraneous conversation.
Taking a deep breath, he carefully lowered his long body to the ground. His knees rose just enough to support his elbows and heavy head in his hands. You watched him for a few extra moments before gently pushing open the gate to join him at center court.
“It’s too cold for the future Finals MVP to be hooping in a tanktop. Here. ” Your arm extended to pass Jayson a sweatshirt in hopes that he’d accept your peace offering. He accepted with no protest, his eyes never looking away from some distant spot in the night.
You let him sulk without interrupting the quiet. A few years and a couple of fiery disagreements had taught you a valuable lesson in letting him sort his feelings before stepping in with advice.
Several minutes of silence passed before finally he scoffed to himself and looked up to the sky.
“I give this shit everything I got. My heart, my body. Fuckin’ tears! None of this shit is working right now.”
“Maybe you’re thinking too hard?”
“I just wanna fuckin’ win. You know that more than anybody. I’m fighting through this shit with my wrist, taking in all the feedback while trying to block all the bullshit and I’m hitting a brick wall every time I turn around. I don’t understand why I’m doing all this if, at the end of the day, I feel like I’m being blocked from what I know I deserve.”
You watched him quietly rub a tender spot at the base of his thumb before his eyes met yours. He was searching for answers and comfort or at least something to make sense of his personal hell.
“So, give up.”
Your matter-of-fact response made him snap his head in your direction. “What?”
“Give up. If it’s giving you this much grief and you aren’t feeling up to the challenge, give up. I won’t hold it against you.”
“Man, you know I’m not doing that. I just…I don’t know. I needed to vent or something. I’m trying.”
“Aren’t we all,” you answered sympathetically. “But we do what we gotta do to get through the hard parts for what we love, right?”
“Yeah, but does it have to be this hard?”
“Would it be worth it if it wasn’t?”
A short chuckle filled the air before he diverted his eyes to a spot beyond the court.
“You can’t do the whole therapy thing for loved ones, remember? Get out my head before I call your dean.”
“Okay! Fair enough. Can I at least say that I’m proud of you?”
Jayson finally broke eye contact with the distance to look in your eyes, prompting you to scoot closer to him until your bodies were touching. He allowed you to hook your arm in his and rest your weight against his forearm before he leaned down to kiss the top of your head.
“This shit is tough,” you continued. “The late nights and long trips. The wear and tear on your body. Having to be somebody’s something at all times. Even the strongest person in the world would be exhausted. But you’re doing it. And a really fuckin’ good job at that. I’m proud of you. We’re all proud of you.”
“Thank you.” His short sentence fell from his lips in a near whisper as he sat with your words.
“But, when you’re at work, just be Jayson. Because, respectfully, nobody out there can touch you on your worst day. Except me, but that’s a different conversation.”
Your misplaced confidence coaxed a loud laugh from Jayson that grew once you stood to take a defensive stance in front of him.
“Man, what are you doing,” he asked, still amused by the sheer absurdity of you attempting to guard him.
“Oh, I’m funny to you? Check ball.”
“Nah, go inside. You just got your nails done.”
“So what! My girl makes house calls. Check ball, my boy. Hurry up before I get mad.”
Jayson studied you for a second with a fond smile before taking the short jog across the court to retrieve his best friend and worst enemy. When he returned, you were still in a full-out defensive stance and ready to take on the challenge of guarding a man acclaimed as one of the best in his profession.
He started his path toward the basket from half-court with slow dribbles and uncontrollable laughter while you swiped at the ball.
“C’mon, now. I don’t want you to get hurt. You made your point.”
“That’s crazy. I got a point but you don’t have no points. Does that make me the best player in the world or…?”
“Woooow.”
A competitive fire burned behind his eyes as he sized you up and planned his next move. For a moment, you were able to shuffle your feet just enough to keep up with his probing attack. It didn’t take long for Jayson to sense a shift in your intensity and capitalize on your lack of speed.
One quick step drove left you slightly off balance, giving him enough space to put up a stepback three that caused the net to make a loud pop once the ball went through.
“JT FOR THREEEEEEE!”
He held his shooting hand in the air for an extra second with his eyes closed to soak in your impression of the in-arena announcement. It’d been a while since he’d heard those words.
When he finally turned back to look at you, he caught your knowing smile as you folded your arms across your chest in preparation for the inevitable.
“Just, like, 30 minutes. I promise. You can time me!”
“Mhmm. Make sure you take a shower before you get back in bed.”
“You gone be up when I get in?”
His question came with raised eyebrows and a few steps forward to wrap you in a sweaty hug. You relished the tickle of his beard against your neck between quick kisses before playfully pushing him away.
“Nuh uh. Lock in. I’ll still be here when the work is done.”
“Can I hold you to that?”
“You know I’m good for it.”
A cheeky wink initiated your shared handshake and signaled that your promise was sealed no matter what. Before he could lull you back into a hug and prolong the moment, a stiff breeze woke all six of your senses and forced a loud shriek in response.
“Oh hell no. I’ll be rooting for you from the house. Keep shooting!”
Jayson watched you nearly sprint across the backyard with the ball tucked under his arm and a smile so goofy it’d be embarrassing if his friends caught him. Not willing to see you go just yet, he cupped his hands around his mouth to bid you a final good night.
“THANKS, COACH! I LOVE YOU!”
Stopping at the back door, you returned the gesture. “I LOVE YOU! JVP! JVP! JVP!”
“THAT AIN’T IT! TRY AGAIN.”
“JUST KEEP REPEATING IT. IT’LL WORK, I PROMISE!”
Once you were inside, silence blanketed the backyard again. This time, instead of racing thoughts, Jayson found a stillness as he bounced the ball between his legs. One dribble turned into another and another until he completed a crossover and midrange shot. Shot after shot hit the bottom of the net with crisp snaps.
When his legs grew exhausted, he stepped up to the free-throw line to complete his impromptu workout.
He took a few deep breaths and focused his eyes on the rim with a soft chant on replay under his breath.
-----------------------------
“This is absolutely incredible. When it looked like his team was on the brink of another Game 7, Jayson Tatum took over the game and delivered the Boston Celtics their first NBA Championship since 2008. The Larry O’Brien trophy is back in Beantown.”
“He’s the future of the league. One of the best, if not THE best small forward in the NBA right now.”
“He's not the future, Jeff. He's the right here and now. Humbly he’s one of the best players in the world. Mama, there goes that man.”
Green and white confetti rained down from the rafters, completely covering fans celebrating in the stands. Players on the court threw themselves onto one another to share the euphoria of the moment. Six games and four hard-fought quarters had led them to the ultimate goal.
Jayson stood at center court with his arms stretched and head tilted to the sky while he screamed at nothing in particular. His head felt light with pure excitement and fragmented replays of the last 48 minutes.
Finally, he’d completed the mission.
As reality began to rush through his blood, his eyes frantically searched for familiar faces in the crowd rushing toward him. The full breadth of excitement couldn’t be released until the ones he cherished most were within arms reach. He ignored every instance of his name being called in favor of pushing through the bodies littered across the space.
His family greeted him first, led by his mother beaming with pride. You quietly stood to the side for an up-close view of the small celebration. Tears and laughter became muffled in the loud environment but the love was unmistakable.
When he finally directed his attention in your direction, a rush of heat made your ears and arms tingle. Sudden shyness made you laugh nervously and tug at your jersey during his short journey to where you stood.
Jokingly, he leaned down and rubbed his sweaty forehead against yours.
“You did it,” you gushed. “You fuckin’ did it.”
“JVP,” he questioned with a silly smile.
“Oh, don’t make me do it. Because you know I’ll do it.”
Jayson’s laughter bellowed deep before he threw his head back for another triumphant scream. His joy felt like permission for others to join with no restrictions.
Stepping back, you accepted the invitation and began your new favorite chant. Participation started with a slow build. Others joined one by one then in small groups until the buzz had spread to the nosebleeds.
Standing in the center of it all, Jayson took a slow look at all the faces around him with pride swelling in his chest.
He was over the hump. Across the finish line. Atop the proverbial mountain.
A champion at last.

You had been sick the last couple of days, being waited on hand and foot by your best friend Hannah. When she wasn’t at basketball practice or playing games, she was at your apartment, helping you recover to get you right again for your track season.
You had missed the last two meets and several practices, feeling so drained and weak, you couldn’t even get out of bed to support from the sidelines. So, you layed in bed, rotting away and watching movies and shows with Hannah.
“Are you seriously going to stay here with me all night long?” You looked at your friend, scoffing at her while she took amusement in your nasally voice, and the tissue hanging out of your nose.
“Yes. You need to rest, so whatever you want, i’ll help.” You could literally kiss her. You’ve never had a friend who did stuff like this for you before. Who was willing to risk getting sick to help you and make sure you got better.
“Oh my god. Hannah Stuelke, I could marry you.”
“Oh, yeah? When’s the wedding?” She smiled, as she got up to get another bottle of water for the both of you.
“Right now. Come kiss your bride.” You thought she was the cutest little giant to ever grace this planet. It didn’t help that Kate accidentally outed Hannah’s secret crush to you a week ago while you guys had been at the baseball game for Iowa—when you had inherently taken being not sick, for granted—It slipped. She didn’t mean to. You had confided in her, her being your cousin and all, and you mentioned that you thought Hannah was cute but didn’t know if she liked girls.
You were overjoyed to find out that she indeed, did like girls. Ever since then, you have been more flirty and so has she.
“Alright, bet.” She pretended to turn heel and make her way back to you, but then turned around, cheeks red, and wandered into the kitchen. You could barely see her through the open bedroom door.
“Booo! Hannah!! I hope you miss your layups tomorrow, and I hope the other team wins!” they don’t. You shouted, hearing her chuckle at your exclamations.
“How about you shut up, and get some sleep, grinch!” She shouted back, you gasped dramatically.
“I told you that in confidence, asshole!” You laughed before turning off the bedside lamp next to you. You shut the tv off, your LED lights being the only way you could see the look on Hannah’s face.
“You’re right, I’m sorry. I won’t bring up the grinch thing again.” She handed you the bottle of water, before she grabbed her blanket and turned towards the door.
“You’re not staying?” You asked meekly. You both agreed to have a sleepover tonight. Even though you were sick, she couldn’t say no. This was the fourth one this week.
“I am. I just don’t want to lay next to you, you’re dying. I don’t choose death, I choose basketball.” She wrapped the blanket around her, the ac making your apartment feel like the midst of antarctica.
“Oh, so you love basketball more than me? Okay.” You plopped down, throwing the comforter over your head.
“Yes. I actually want to play in the Big 10 tournament, not be sick as a dog in bed. Sorry, babe.”
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Go sleep on the couch then. Goodnight, love you.” You said, already drowsy.
“Goodnight drama queen, love you.” She closed the door, laughing as she heard you gasp at the playful insult.
The next morning, you felt better. Great even. The last four days of lying in bed, consistently taking medicine, and letting your body recover from the sickness worked. Hannah worked.
You got up, walking into the bathroom, finding a small note taped to the mirror. ‘Hope you feel better! I’ll see you later tonight after the game. Love you!’. You truly didn’t deserve this girl.
You sent her a quick text, thanking her for the note, and hopped in the shower. You decided you were going to crash the track practice today. You still weren’t up for running the whole practice, but a light warmup and maybe some of the conditioning would be okay. Plus, you’d attend the game at Carver, but you didn’t buy tickets on time and now they were sold out.
Before leaving, you had about two hours, so you threw all your blankets and sheets into the washer and dryer, ridding your room of any sickness. You opened the blinds, letting light in, cracking the window even.
You made yourself breakfast, and started to get ready. You didn’t know if it was the four days that she spent at your house, or just the recent closeness between you and Hannah, lack of separation thereof, but you couldn’t stop thinking about her. You already missed her and she’s only been away for three hours.
You wanted to tell her that you loved having her over all the time, all the hugs she gives you, the comfort and security she provides by just being near you. You wanted to make flirty jokes without having to pretend your joking. You wished you could just tell her how you feel since you know she feels the same way. You just wanted her.
You even told your teammate about it. You figured you should definitely ask her about trying to make the first move on Hannah since she made the first move on her girlfriend, Maya. Plus, she was the only one on the team that new about your infatuation with the 6’2” forward.
As you and Camila walked to your designated stretching and conditioning spot, you told her your situation.
“I don’t know what to do. I like her so much, but I have no idea how to tell her or show her without totally freaking her the fuck out.”
Kate and Camila listened to you and Hannah express the confusion and frustration of not knowing how to make the first move.
Kate and Hannah had mentioned it briefly in the locker room. Hannah shutting it down when the other girls walked in.
During stretching and pregame, Hannah and Kate were secluded and that’s when she voiced her frustration. Kate knew what it was like. She went through the same thing with her ex girlfriend, Sydney.
“Just be cool, and calm. Give her flowers, and be straight. Trust me, I know my cousin and she loves flowers. She loves the small but thoughtful gesture. Then, just ask her to be your girlfriend, I guarantee you, she won’t say no.” Kate reassured Hannah. Kate knew you best, and she knew that you didn’t need a grand gesture to express the love you had to share. Hannah nodded, taking the idea and saving it for after practice.
“Go straight for it. Definitely be straight up. Be like ‘Hey, I like you. Then bam, kiss her.” Camila was way too enthusiastic and unserious. You gave her an incredulous look, as you both stretched, instantly regretting asking her.
“Uh…how about I don’t..do that.” You continued to stretch your legs, balancing trying to do the flamingo.
“It worked for me.” Camila shrugged her shoulders. “Assert your dominance, it’ll work.” She nodded her head, a big grin on her face. She totally wasn’t joking.
“I’m not a damn dog, Camila. I don’t need to assert anything. What about if I give her flowers and just ask her to be my girlfriend? That would work, right?” You scrunched your eyebrows, hoping to hear a yes so you didn’t actually have to go with Camila’s plan.
“Oh, yeah. That could work too. Didn’t think about that one.” Camila looked at the ground, before giggling to herself.
“Of course you didn’t.” You shook your head and continued on with your practice. You were going to stop at trader joe’s later, buy Hannah flowers, and make her your girlfriend.
You didn’t know if it was the nerves or just the total blindsidedness of watching Hannah’s car pull into the parking lot, but you suddenly started to panic. You had been sitting by the window, on the phone with Kate. You were showing her the arrangement of flowers you were putting together for Hannah. Red and Blue tulips, signifying love and her being one of a kind, with some baby’s breath accents, for happiness. Tulips were her favorite so it was a no brainer.
“Oh my god, Kate! She just pulled into the parking lot.” You gasped as you looked out the window, dropping the freshly put together bouquet on the small coffee table.
“Are you spying on her?” Kate asked, laughing at your nervousness.
“No! You idiot! I’m just sitting by the window and she just so happened to park in the spot right in my view! I’m not crazy.” You pulled the curtain back a little, watching the car still run.
“Are you sure? You look a little crazy.” Kate asked, laughing silently while taking a facetime photo, the flashing catching your attention.
“Kate, i’m serious! Why hasn’t she turned the car off?” You looked through one more time, catching her car lights shut off, and the drivers side door open. “Oh shit! She’s getting out.” You grabbed your phone, walking over to the mirror hanging above the couch.
“How do I look?” You asked your cousin, after adjusting the crop top and shorts you were wearing, along with your hair.
“Like your about to not be single.” Kate winked, telling you to grab the flowers and call her back when you two were official.
“Okay, I love you, bye!” You shouted before hanging up the phone just in time to hear the lock turning. Hannah had been given a key to your place when you moved in a couple months ago.
You set your phone down, running to your room, and sitting on the bed. You didn’t want her to see you with the flowers right when she walked in, not wanting to be forced to ambush her with the question right away.
“Hey? I’m here!” Hannah shouted, putting her keys on the counter and sliding her shoes off at the door.
“I’m in the room! How was the game? Sorry I didn’t make it, I didn’t buy the tickets on time.” You were anxiously staring at the doorway, seeing her shadow move about the living room.
“No it’s okay, I know you’ll be at the next one,” You could hear her setting down her bag, as she was staying over again. Then you hear paper crinkling and was suddenly confused. What did she have that was making all that noise? “I need to talk to you, are you decent?” She asked, her shadow getting closer.
“Yeah, come in!” That’s when you saw her Hawkeye team jacket fill the doorway, noticing brown paper in her hand. That’s when you saw a bouquet of flowers.
Your hands tightened on her flowers, the anxiousness rising in the both of you. She stopped in her tracks, the sight of you and the flowers you were holding taking her by surprise.
“What are those for?” You both asked, questioning looks being exchanged between the two of you. “You first.” You said in unison again.
“Hannah.” You motioned for her to go first. You noticed the blush rising in her cheeks. She moved from side to side, not being able to stand still now that she was on the spot.
“Uh, I got these for you, obviously. Your favorite.” Pink roses and baby’s breath. You loved pink roses, as they resembled gentleness and love. Two things you prided yourself on in your social and romantic life. Plus you just loved the romantic aspect of roses. She handed you the bouquet, her nerves relaxing when she saw the awestruck look on your face. The small smile she loved now taking home on your lips.
“What for Hannah? They’re beautiful, thank you.” You smiled at her widely, your admiration for her only growing by the second. Hoping that she’d ask you what you wanted her to.
“Because a pretty girl like you deserves pretty flowers and someone who will always buy them for her, no matter the reason. I wanted to know if you’d be my girlfriend, y/n.” Her voice steady, her stance stilling, and her sincerity concrete.
You looked at her in awe. You had no words for how she made you feel in this moment. You couldn’t believe that this was your life. “Are you serious?” Your face was hot, and you were for sure that your face was turning pink by the second.
“Yes. Will you be my girlfriend?” Hannah’s nerves now coming back as you took a while to answer her question while you held the flowers she bought you.
“That’s so not fair!” You said as you set your flowers on the bed, still holding Hannah’s. Her face dropped, suddenly worried that she misread this whole thing and you did infact not want to date her. “I wanted to ask you first, dammit.” You laughed softly, still smiling wideyed at the tall girl in front of you.
She visibly relaxed, before relieved chuckling. You handed her the flowers, making sure she took them before you grabbed her face gently, rose slowly on your tippy toes, amd kissed her softly. “Of course I’ll be your girlfriend, Hannah Stuelke. I was beginning to think you’d never ask.” You smiled before you picked your flowers back up, and led you both into your kitchen.
She followed behind you, not saying anything. Starstruck at how you said yes to her, kissed her, and walked away like it was so normal. “Wait, youre my girlfriend?” Hannah asked, disbelief written all over her face.
“Yes, Stuelke. I am indeed, your very happy girlfriend.” You walked over, putting your flowers down on the counter, grabbing hers from her hands and putting them down right next to yours, and you grabbed her face again.
You stood in between her legs while she was seated at the island barstool in your kitchen, smiling stupidly wide at you. “Kiss me.” You whispered, smiling softly when her hands grabbed your hips, pulling you closer towards her.
She kissed you gently, the kiss itself being foreign to the both of you, but feeling so natural like you’ve been doing it forever.
