i was getting pretty anxious that loki may actually kill sylvie since not only that would have been neccessary for the plot, but also could serve as some sort of "metaphor/symbolism" for reincarnation that loki have to kill his old self (yes i say old cuz sylvie technically still has the similar negative traits loki did in 2012 and has overcome them by now) but i'm glad they found another way... pheww 😮‍💨

when loki said "for you, for all of us" i think we all had flashbacks to one of the saddest scenes of loki in thor (2011) when he was talking to odin and-

For context:

Spidernote was a fanfiction I wrote in middle school about live action light turner, Peter Parker, and regular light yagami and Zac Efron going to high school together. I’m not sure why or how it started. It was supposed to be this joke or prank or smth on my friend but idk how???? Lmao. But I grew too starched to the characters and they became near unrecognizable from any source material and I’ve been rotating them in my head for years like a little eternal microwave plate.

(I apologize in advance. Some of this will be told through screenshots because last time I tried to copy and paste my Tumblr crashed 💀)

Leon and Lottie

This relationship is a bit iffy but I believe I still did alright haha.

They look very similar and they’re both very extroverted people.

But I also enjoy the alliteration here, both focus on L.

Saying Lo and Lee together brings to mind the ideas of Nabokov’s Lolita (and his use of ‘master hand’ throughout is something I’d want to mimic, to make the artist intrinsic to the work) (sorry im just ramblinfnffdhdh)

Oh! Their sounds are also mirrors here as well!!! Leon (eee-oh) and Lottie (oh-eee) (although hers is more of an ah/aw)

The main focus though is on the double L, they’re connected. They’re similar.

(Also Charlotte has French origins and Le is the in French so)

Leon and Agnus

Agnus may seem like the odd one out of the bunch here and she very much is. She’s been separated from reality/the rest of the world on and off again the past few years and is very different from others.

But my favorite thing here is this:

Leon means Lion but Agnus means Lamb. Like ISNT THAT SO COOL!!!!!!! I could go into their dynamic and how that relates but aghheheh

Agnus and Lo

Charlotte is actually a diminutive of Charles and means "free man" and "petite"

The focus here is on petite. Lottie is obsessed with her self presentation and her execution of femininity. She feels inadequate as a woman. Agnus is the opposite and has lost her ability to truly care about anything. The idea of being little/small is something that drives Lo a lot in her search to be the perfect woman. Agnus represents pureness and chastity (lamb symbolism as well as name meaning). Anyways i could write a lot here about the two views and performances on/of feminity and actually how el and Leon execute masculinity differently and how that’s a connecting point between them and aghhahhh)

ELLIOT RAMBLINGZ

elliot did not grow up in a stable environment. his parents weren't exactly poor but they aren't like rich. he lives with his mom and her brother so his uncle but they weren't super stabel because his father died in military service when he was young. he grew up in a not great neighborhood. part of the military service is like elliot's grandparents were immigrants from china i still have to flesh out stuff. it was about the idea he had to earn his place in the united states...anywayz he has like really messed up views on masculinity because his father died "bravely" in combat and his mother and uncle had really high expectations and he just never was that good at school and his uncle never liked that he was so weak and frail. he didn't have the best constitution. as a kid he'd get sick a lot and not interract with others. he felt like he had to fend for himself a lot growing up and constantly worried about being part of other's lives but could not find stability. he learned to shut himself up. to suck things up. one very kdfjdlskfjsdf okay sorry like words cant rn. there was an extremely formative experience he had when he was younger of going into a convenience store gas station place and was upset and anyways a gunman bust in and he was held up (along with everyone else in the store) and he froze up, he started to cry and he gave his money to the guy ebcause he was so scared. and his uncle was not happy and bad stuff happened sorry this makes me sound so dumb and lame im like "erm i have such ocol charactersz" but theyerelrkelkh

anyeays ermm he was physically abused and traumatized but felt so insecure about not being brave like those around him, not protecting himself. his whole life he was called not a real man, he wasn't brave enough or strong enough. he's seen people hurt people he liked, people he had once liked hurt him. the earth hurt too much. he is like one of those cynical edgy teenage boys who's not exactly an incel but like you know the vobeim talking about? he hates himself. he feels like hes not enough and is constantly suffering under this toxic idea of masculinity and projecting an image of strength despite being scared. but he projects all of this insecurity outward. he can't trust people. he sees any kindness as faking he sees niceness as all for a manipulative reason and he projects it as like violence sometiems like he genuinely ahas thought about killing people but is too much of a "coward" to actually do it. He’s not a great person but he’s caught in this constant spiral.

erm but anywayz its going to utilize a lot of the techniques established by nabokov in lolita and marquez in 100 yrs of solitude. these are the characters, but its kind of like a story about the individual who would write this. interlaced throughout is the idea of writing, the impossibility of what's written. these are characters in a story (not going completely into brecht's Verfremdungseffekt but definitely pulling attention into how the ideas and temperments of an individual influence the work.) how the ideas of story is magic, how storytellers take part in stories and how audiences take part of them. this is actually very similar to some of the topics addressed by ryukishi in the no naku koro ni (wtc) series especially in umineko. and spidernotes like ties into this idea of identity in story...which retroactively its just...really cool....spider (weaving webs, creation, the tangled and complex nature of the self) and notes (stories, ideas, writing) the transfixing of the soul into the written form...like. like all of the characters have a piece of me (me as in the personnae of an author, as in the narrator in a sense, even if me isn't the narrator) i as a creator and fundamentally tied to this. this may seem in contradiction to barthes "le mort d'author" (the death of the author) and his post-structuralist ideas to connect my work so intrinsically with my life, but i disagree. i find lolita, for example, to be an extremely post-modernist work. they are ideas that can be interpreted beyond their logical symbols. the story is not without this ability for interpretation, like that,, it's about inrerpretation and kdjfkdjfh the mutability of peoprkerek. though i do need to look bsck on the ideas of literary theory as posited by the framework fathers of modernism,,cannot remember his name. i believe it was richard. in a sense i wonder if brecht would think in a more modernist perspective rather than postmodernist because the initial language of symbols (as that is what modernims is based on) would be like bsed on the dichotomy of theatre vs life. like the idea of modernism is very interesting, especially, liek the dichotomiy sorry OFF TOPIC OF MY OWN RANT.

But anywhozzley, literally every part of this stuff pretty much has a thematic or character reason for existence. Like their appearances aren’t arbitrary and each choice is deliberate and. I just have thought about them too much and literally any questions about them or this concept or what the story is about I shall cherish forever. So feel free to analyze or critique or comment or ask questions because this made me so happy to have an excuse to talk about them but also obviously you don’t have to. Thank you 😭😭😭😭

a stream of consciousness on what i see as mike’s queercoding in st401 specifically bc i need to ramble ab it since it’s been deteriorating my brain

in episode 1 the first second we see him he’s reading el’s letter. i’ve ran this damn detail into the fucking ground but there’s, of course, his open closet behind him with a “one-way” sign pointing directly to it. i have so many thoughts on this bc first of all the people in charge of decorating the rooms have gotta be on point (and this is a period piece after all). they need to put things in there that they believe the characters would throw in there too. what kind of choice was this if not to see where mike’s mind is?; this is the how i personally interpret it: there’s only one way for mike to go, and it’s the closet (smth smth forced conforming that’s what’s killing kids). but despite this, at school, he’s shown to be growing more comfortable in his own skin. he’s finding clothes that he likes (more of a grunge style; black jeans, black converse, the “hellfire club” shirt topping it off). he doesn’t care anymore that he’s seen as a freak or an outcast, he’s embracing who he is. he seems to be enjoying himself in the hellfire club, and it’s clear that mike feels he can express himself for who he really is when with them. filming choices were MADE when the camera lingered on mike’s expression while watching eddie put on a show in the cafeteria, as most of the bg slightly blurs around mike (i poke at this scene here). he clearly sees him as a role model and it’s interesting since eddie is really vocal on going against society’s expectations. but why would they make this choice to focus solely on mike’s reactions? why not dustin, where he plays more of a role being associated with eddie, as he’s one of the (if not thee) main person trying to help eddie and clear his name? when trying to find subs to fill in for lucas for the campaign, one of the locations mike goes to is a wrestling room to persuade them to join hellfire for a night. now why the fuck would they do that bc that’s umm let’s just say random. idk it’s just the fact that it’s a room filled w all boys working out so why make him specifically go there of all places (to be silly? girl..)?? honestly this is all over the place and i probably missed some things and i’m probably reading too into some other stuff here but it’s been making me sit and think and it’s been a ringing in my ear all month so far. i need to lay down seriously

After a long hard day at your job, a few minutes before you were done for the day a customer at the store you worked at decided to spill coffee all over you. Now of course this wasn’t their fault in the slightest but on top of the stress from your job it was too much and you let yourself off of work a few minutes early. You checked your notifications and realized your boyfriend, kenma kozume (@/kodzuken) and popular game streamer was streaming and wouldn’t be able to hold you when you got home.

You screamed in frustration in your car as you drove away, angry at the bad luck you’ve been facing today. You check to see if kenma maybe got off stream early and give him a call, but it rings a couple times and goes straight to voicemail. You accept defeat and continue driving, until out of nowhere it starts pouring rain outside.

“Why goddamnit! Of all days I had to not bring an umbrella today was the day,” you mutter as you put up your windshield wipers, hoping the rain would go away by the time you got home. It didn’t. After you finally pull up to your flat in Tokyo, you run, taking all of your stuff through the pouring rain making sure to lock your car. Once you hop into the elevator and wait until it stops at your level (sry if this isn’t accurate lmao I’m not rich 💀) you try to pat yourself dry.

“Y/n, get it together,” you say shivering, hoping that kenmas stream wouldn’t see you as you haven’t been shown on camera yet. Not that your boyfriend is ashamed of you, no, quite the opposite. He knows that some of his fans can be a little, overwhelming to say the least, and would rather keep you away from death threats and bullying online. The elevator finally dings and stops at your flat where you collect your stuff and get into the place you call home. Unable to tell kenma you’re home like you normally do you shoot him a quick text:

After heading over to your shared bedroom and changing into one of his hoodies and sweats, you plop down on the couch and check your phone, seeing a video on TikTok. Apparently it’s a trend to go over and cuddle your s/o while they’re gaming and your bf is a streamer/gamer so you think you should try it on him. Remembering that he has a copy of his stream and you can ask for the footage later, you decide to act now, think later. Surges of adrenaline hitting you in waves, your legs decide to have a mind of their own as you make your way to his gaming room.

Doing a quick knock so that he isn’t so suprised and so you won’t chicken out, you tell him, “bub, I’m coming in ok?” in the most innocent tone you can muster, and open his door, finding him staring at you. No, gaping at you as you make your way over to him looking at his paused video game and the stream chat moving so fast you can only make out a couple words. Some of which being “s/o, lying, sibling, and banana.” Wait maybe that last one wasn’t quite right but you get the point and are shocked at the effect you have. He moved his microphone away from his mouth although its a futile attempt as the high quality technology of his headset picks up the conversation just as easily.

“Kitten what are you doing here? I thought you wouldn’t be home for a couple more minutes and you know how I feel about your face being shown on cams,” the last part sounding very possesive but protective on your end.

Realizing that although you tell yourself it’s just for a TikTok, you didn’t need to lie when giving him a reason and you really do want cuddles. “I’m sorry bub I was just having a bad day at work so I came home a little early and I wanted cuddles. You didn’t respond to my text and I didn’t know you were streaming,” you tell him giving him a look that you know he can’t refuse. As he stares at you dumbfounded, you can’t help laugh a little at the in shock way he looks.

“Fine,” he grits out with no malice and you can tell it didn’t take much to get him to agree. As he moves his microphone back to where it was, you climb onto his lap, straddling his waist, as you wrap your arms around the nape of his neck. “Everyone, meet my... s/o y/n,” he tells the stream while chat goes crazy and you start to get comfy. “We’ve been dating for 3 years now and I haven’t shown their face or revealed I had a s/o because I didn’t want them to receive hate. That being said, now that you all know who they are, please treat them with respect and kindness. They make me really happy,” he says looking at you lovingly as you turn your head to meet his gaze at his words. You blush and turn away, busying yourself with putting his hair back up into a low bun and familiarizing yourself with his steady heartbeat as you cuddle him, slowly falling asleep in his lap.

Now that the stream had ended and I finished my game, winning of course, I was getting sleepy as well, y/n already fast asleep in my lap before I even got 15 kills.

I pick her up watching her snore slightly and drool a little thinking they were the most precious thing ever. As I walk over to our room, careful not to wake them, I murmur subconsciously, “I love you so much baby” not expecting them to repeat the same thing to me in their sleep. When I finally reach our room I lay them down carefully, making sure they wouldn’t wake up as I went to brush my teeth and get ready for bed.

After I finished with hygiene (that’s important kids 😀) and changed into pajamas, I tiptoed back to our bed tucking us both in and cuddling with them, already half asleep.

i’m so glad you liked the friend group together !! i’ve always wanted to write a fic where the friend group was well fleshed out and had important roles (and this actually wasn’t the fic i was going to try it out on) but it served as a good stepping stone and your words make me feel more hyped to improve :’)) although they didn’t have many scenes together, i loved them too 🥰🥰 i get emotionally attached to my own characters sobsob and YES RENJUN !!!! he’s my ult too :’) actually i ult half of dream so i cant defend myself but !! he made their arrangement soooo romeo and juliet for a little 😭 and i love writing protective (but sorta chill??) best friends ♡ AAAA PLS IT WARMS MY HEART TO HEAR THAT YOU LIKED MC AND JAEMINS DYNAMIC that’s like everything for me 🤧💘 i rlly wanted to preserve their friendship even while they were treading the line between fwb to lovers, but there were those little moments like jaemin calling mc creepy for staring at him and mc telling him to shut up when he made a dirty joke :’))
