Your relationship with Jake wasn’t perfect, although to the eye of many that wasn’t obvious. You seemed utterly head over heels, and whilst that was the truth you, like any other couple had problems. But to the extent was not normal, most couples talk it out, that’s never been your method. The problem was Jake’s friendliness, before you got together you loved that about him, it was after all how you got together. You loved how he would talk to everyone, you loved how he made people laugh, but now that you sit in a crowded restaurant gritting your teeth watching your boyfriend make the waitress laugh, he told a joke, a joke first told to you, your gaze was fixated on him, the crease by his eyes as he laughed, the nod of his head as she spoke, but worst of all the prolonged eye contact they held and how her eyes glistened as they done so.

Swiftly you finished your wine, you cleared your throat and the waitress turned to you. You nodded your head to the empty glass, right away she excused herself with the glass to get you another.

“She’s lovely,” you grinned, the sarcasm seeping through your words.

“It’s the Peralta charm, she couldn’t help laugh at my joke,” Jake teased, resuming his meal. You near scoffed at the audacity of him, deep down you knew he was being harmless- a mere joke, but you couldn’t help the insecurity inside of you get the better of your mind. You and Jake have been together for two years, the longest you’ve both been with someone, your biggest fear is that Jake will get bored of you, so interactions like this had your mind running wild- reaching to the worst possible scenarios.

For the rest of your meal you were barely listening to Jake enthuse about his week at work, he talked about his perps, his drug busts and the banter within the precinct. Instead you were in your head, imagining the end of your relationship, more specifically Jake leaving you for someone much prettier and funnier. He’s never not been loyal, he’s never given you an reason to feel this way, yet you couldn’t help it. You couldn’t turn off your self sabotaging mind and that was a slow undeniable killer.

“Are you okay?” Jake said, snapping you back to reality, concern written over his face, his eyes gentle and comforting.

“I’m fine.�� You replied. “Just tired.” You couldn’t shake the coldness of your words. Jake reached over the table to grab your hand, you sighed and moved your hand away, feeling too indifferent to talk about it. You could see the disappointment building in his eyes.

“Let’s go then.” Jake said as he stood up grabbing his jacket and pushing his chair in, you paid the bill and got into his car.

A deafening silence fell over you both for the first few minutes of the car ride, you didn’t know what to say, you were worried that if you started to talk you would end up fighting. The car stopped at the red light, you found your eyes wondering over to Jake, one hand on the wheel the other tapping on the dashboard as he starred out the window, his eyebrows were knitted together in a frustrated manner and his body was tense. He glanced at you and instantly your eyes hardened.

“What did I do to upset you this much?” Jake asked, his voice firm.

“Nothing.” You mumbled looking down at your lap.

“Then why are you acting like this? I don’t understand the night started great now you’re distant. Do you not like me anymore or something?”

The emotion in his voice had you heart aching, you couldn’t understand why your mind done this to you, from a rational perspective the interaction was harmless- maybe enough for you to sulk over, but not to this extent and you knew that. You nervously picked at you nails as you replied.

“Of course I do Jake- you know I love you. But it’s just..” you sighed, “I don’t know.”

He turned to look at you now, “just what?”

“You’re too friendly! That’s the problem.”

“Too friendly? What does that even mean?!” He laughed, you looked at him and instantly filled with rage.

“Don’t be stupid Jake. Don’t do that, you were flirting with that fucking waitress.”

The light went green and Jake drove again, his eyes were focused on the road as he spoke. “Flirting? Seriously. This again.” He sighed, “I’m not flirting with anyone.”

It wasn’t like you totally hated Percy Jackson. He saved your life more than once and was after all a nice guy. But he got under your skin, a whole lot. Cross Guild prompt that's been in my head for weeks: I FIRMLY believe that Crocodile is one of those types of people that feel bad for stray animals. To the point that he just always has some sort of pet food on him or he just straight up snatches them off the street and takes them back home.

But, one day, as he's walking through the streets late at night, he hears rummaging coming from an alley, and he goes to check it out. Crocodile faintly catches the glimpes of a fluffy tail and automatically assumes it just another stray dog lost in the city and immediately approaches it. Only to find out it's a little lost Mink child.

Crocodile is immediately heartbroken and just snatches the poor Mink kid up like "You're mine now. You're coming home with me."

Once he takes the poor kid back to the Cross Guild HQ, he tried to discreet about it but eventually Mihawk and Buggy run into Crocodile carrying the little mink child in his arms and they both immediately freak out!.

So the mink child starts to become closer with Buggy, wanting to hang out with him more often. Which ends up making Crocodile jealous because HE wanted to be the one the Mink bonded to.

But at the same time Crocodile low key finds the sight of the clown making balloon animals and putting on little performances for the Mink quite endearing.

PS: I also like to think that the stray Mink child Crocodile brought in happens to be a little feral after having lived most of their life on the streets all alone. So when Crocodile had brought them in, the mink child starts running around headquarters, reeking havoc in the dinning hall by stealing the other crewmembers' food because they probably hadn't eaten in days. Crocodile finds it hilarious and completely ignores the crews complaints and tells them to feed the mink child even more and to give them whatever they want.

This is a hilarious and great idea. Indeed Crocodile would be the person that feel bad for stray animals. I’m guessing this is taking place on another island, because I doubt Buggy would let stray animals live on his island. He definitely has an animal barn or a few animal barns.

Crocodile snatching the Mink child because one. I doubt the Mink child has parents around or if they do… Those are bad parents, so it’s better for the child to come with Crocodile.

Crocodile trying to smoothly sneak the Mink child into Cross Guild HQ is kind of amusing to imagine. Is Crocodile trying to hide that he has the child or trying to make it seem normal?

Never mind that, of course Buggy and Mihawk freak out because it's a child in a very dangerous place. No doubt there’s many places on Karai Bari that can really hurt a kid. In the end, Mihawk and Buggy couldn’t resist. The child wasn’t safe in the place Crocodile found them in. So, they guess it would be better that the kid is with them.

Yeah, Buggy forming a bond with the Mink child way before Crocodile. Hell, it would be funnier if it’s on the same day that the Mink met the clown. Yeah personally, it’s funnier if it went that way. One moment, Buggy is freaking out and the Mink kid is nervous being in a new place and around new people. Then, couple or few hours later, Buggy and the child are having the greatest fun together. Indeed, that watching Buggy making any balloon animal the Mink wants and performing little shows of the Mink is truly endearing.

Idea: Crocodile must have tried to get the Mink to the doctor, but with the kid being feral. I doubt that went well, so when Buggy gets the Mink child to the doctor of Karai Bari Islands. Crocodile must think it’s going to be hard… Hahaha that didn’t happen.

It was quite a breeze once Buggy explain to the Mink that they need the doctor check them out. Soon as the Mink kid is out of the doctors, they start wreaking havoc on the place. HQ is the Big Top Tent in the middle… or is it to the side. Never mind that, yeah, the Mink must be so surprised about all the fun things around.

It took Buggy saying that the Mink needs to eat for the crew to stop complaining or if they do it’s in their head. So, the Mink child gets to eat all they want.

As for my favorite character, I'm a big fan of Gumshoe! I just like big, goofy, endearing characters so much! I dont think ive posted any drawings of him here before though, so maybe it's a surprise! He's a sweetheart, and I miss him so much TT I've been playing Apollo Justice and Great Ace Attorney most recently, so I feel like it's been forever since I've seen him TT

Other than Gumshoe though, all of the protagonists have a special place in my heart, Phoenix, Ryunosuke, Apollo.. I specifically vibe with Apollo, he's a character I really feel like I match with, although he's much meaner in his head than me HAHA! my sister's and I have a habit of just whispering to eachother "they don't know I'm Apollo Justice.." whenever we say or do something vaguely Apollo-esque

Also, how we feeling about the Edgeworth tshirt? My sister's and I have been joking around about how we think it'd be so funny of he just wore a shirt with Miles' face on it, even funnier if he SPECIFICALLY spent his.. meager paycheck on buying it personalized HAHA! Frog Detective!!!! I absolutely love this game and I highly recommend watching Snapcube play. The voice acting is immaculate and made the whole game funnier than it already is. I cannot recommend this game enough.

I loved watching these games SO much. Not only were the games themselves so fun and charming, but the voice acting was superb and fit the characters so well. I can't imagine playing without the VA lol. The character models were super cute and very well done, each animal was designed to be very recognizable while also having a ton of personality. The dialogue is honestly my favorite dialogue of any game, It's so witty and silly and goofy and charming omg the writers deserve an award. It just fits with contemporary humor so well in the best possible way. The plots were also unique and fun. Crime doesn't exist so the mysteries were so creative like an invisible wizard. It's a shame no more frog detective games will be made but they ended the trilogy on a great note. I will have to follow the dev team to see if there are any plans for other games bc I would love to play or watch more!! A highly recommended game, def also a game to relax to and watch midnight snap's video on. Love you Frog Detective <3<3

I have to say, I hadn't expected Lalafells to be one of my favorite races when I began playing FFXIV. My reaction at first glance was they were meant to be comic relief or maybe halfling inspired. Halfway through ARR, though, I kept telling my daughter that they had all the classic traits of dwarves, a race I do love to play (she managed to suppress her snickers until I hit Shadowbringers...) And I'm not sure you can get as far as the beginning of HW without realizing that Lalas are just as complex and diverse in personalities as the other races. Pretty sure two of the top five most hated NPCs are still Lalafells, while there are definitely a couple in the most beloved (Tataru, for instance).

And they give Lalafells every bit as much loving attention as the other races, whether it's clothing, animations, expressions, or camera angles in cutscenes. OMG, Kass has some great clothing. And I was really surprised at just how GOOD the expressions are.

Everyone looks *at* Kass when speaking to her. And in some cases, they even adjust body angles in a very Lala-specific way so it feels friendlier.

Or they change the camera angle, above and behind an NPC so Kass is more clearly in the scene.

There's never a moment when the game doesn't treat a Lalafell WoL as a serious adult. Not that people don't sometimes comment on your size. Lots of moments where it's funny when people react in terror to a Lala WoL. Or the Lalafells in the group are out in front to defend the non-combatants

Sometimes, the comedy of a scene is just that much funnier with a Lalafell. I'm convinced they chose the warrior trainer location with a Lala warrior in mind:

Even more than two years after starting to play, it's hard to explain how much that still means to me. Because more than a decade ago, I fell in love with Dragon Age: Origins. The dwarven origin stories were two of my favorites, and I particularly loved that the men and women dwarves had the same build. In fact, they absolutely HAVE to have the same build for the commoner dwarven origin to *work*. A fact which they completely threw out by the time they got to DAI (there weren't really any women dwarves in DA2 which was honestly a human-only game anyway.) Dwarves in DA: I were a very reluctant afterthought with that reluctance made clear because it was too much trouble to change camera angles, etc. for scenes with them, with the result that in a huge number of scenes, the camera was above the head of dwarven NPCs or there was furniture in the way. And they suddenly gave them extreme sexual dimorphism---my first thought on seeing a woman dwarf for DAI was that they introduced hobbits while men dwarves were at least twice as wide in the shoulders as in DAO, sigh. Which of course broke that DAO origin. Honestly, it would take a lot for me to get seriously interested in a DA game again because I felt I was sold such a subpar game as someone who played dwarves by preference.

So there's never a time I'm playing Kass in FFXIV that I don't appreciated the loving attention to detail, even if it's nothing more than an NPC looking down at her when she walks past.

I feel like there’s a lot of sacrificing for a joke in hsr, which is definitely annoying especially when it just…doesn’t make sense, tonally and just logically. And I really do wish we found out more abt the TB, and I would’ve like even like a tidbit from firefly since we talk to her sm, we even play as her at the end. Or maybe get an offhand mention abt how she’s not supposed to tell us bc of the script or smth . I was just saying how it was silly that Kafka’s wanted poster literally says she likes coats on it, and her bounty, like that’s it. Shes so sjsjshbsbddbbewv. And I also came up with another fic idea, like Kafka in an idol/band AU, but also I think her being an actor w the other stellaron hunters would be funny. But yk if I ever get around to writing anything instead of Kafka just living in my brain, who would she be in a band with, I was think abt using some of the characters from the animated before the show starts thing, but the instruments just don’t go together. Also I think I need to work on writing Kafka in general, bc she’s so complicated and it’s fun but I also overthink things too much.

i dont think you should worry about overthinking when it comes to writing, it can be a weakness because then you focus too much on details and forget the big picture, but personally i also think j too much into things when i write characters like kafka especially. when every genuine emotion is in the twitch of a finger, there’s kinda no choice lol
