I greatly enjoyed my time with Sonic Prime, but I will admit that the ending confused me

i thought the ending worked fine but it was a bit underwhelming compared to some of the theories i saw. and i also wasnt really expecting for it to be possible to restore green hill without wiping the shatterverse from existence because that just. didnt feel possible based on what we knew about how this stuff supposedly works . What ever its just baby cartoons doesnt matter

and ive also seen people thinking the ending was meant to be a cliffhanger setting up for a potential continuation but i dont think that personally. to me its obviously just meant as Ohh sonics life never slows down so theyre immediately jumping into another adventure The End. or whatever

Swallowing my nerves at last to send you an ask! I was just wondering, what inspires your designs? Are their inspirations in stuff like movies or games? Or just things you come up with yourself?

i .. honestly its kinda hard to tell, sometimes i just randomly think of something, like some detail, or color combination and try to incorporate that into a design somehow; it can come from anywhere, like the color scheme of a pithaya/dragonfruit is something i have been wanting to make a design with for ages but havent come up with anything good in all those years ;O;

im a very easily fascinated by color, espeically in nature, like sometimes i just stop and stare at something like i froze in time bc i just woooooooooooooah color! i probably look like a weirdo doing that though

its really hard to pinpoint anything specifically, the most is probably .. other artists? i guess? which always makes me nervous bc my memory is shit in most areas of life and i worry myself to pieces whether i unintentionally "stole" an idea and just dont remember and think it was my own, it goes further that sometimes i see something that makes me want to draw a similar concept but dont bc i dont want to 'steal' even if that couldnt be further from my intention (have been accused of that before ..)

that said for my ocs specifically .. most are rather old and have just kinda evolved out of their awkward first iterations (shargons first iteration was a hauro-howl- copy that was really just some human covered in feathers .. another oc was once a hellboy copy but in green- havent drawn nor redeisgn them in ages lol), the biggest inspirations for them is a mix of animals, bonus if you dont see them often- im a big shark, whale and sea creatures in general nerd so i tend to take from them as a priority but always trying to be less directly animal and mostly just .. features that work together

Eadrya is one of the newer OCs- i started to write but then looked at my folders and oh they are from 2017 .., i even made a design timeline for them how much they, and my art, have changed back in 2020, so thats also way outdated now lol (they apparently started as a whale .. thing? its like a pokemon evolution lol)

this is them now (i like this sketch still, though shargons design is now also outdated lmao)

this ones from early 2023 so also outdated now but you get the point

for demons i try to be a bit more wild on shapes and colors while still adhering to the rules of how they work (humanoid form, demon form, animalistic, one element each and more or less made to fit that, 4 arms is very common, look to be bost scary and wild but also something that would make you stop in tracks and stare in awe and fear if you crossed paths)

often times designs just kinda .. happen, i have maybe the idea ok i wanna make something with a white and red pattern also moose or those big horned cows are cool and kinda scary so maybe sth akin to that (though this one is technically a redesign too- its also pretty much entirely different)

for non demons but still non human i go for a much more restrained design, mainly inspired directly by an animal and giving the color scheme a good spin, plus adding unconventional body shapes, like ki'ita is also a good example, her old idea was just orca anthro pirate and just by making the white green instead in her most recent redesign already adds that little spin to it

that can have its pitfalls though, as i often fall into the big arm small head small legs scheme over and over xD

alot of it is trial and error, deciding on the colors can take me hours bc im always searching for my little rule of having one contrast color that shows up in very few places to draw attention to it (like with Eadrya its those bright yellow eyes and thingy at their tail)

and that is all about myy own ocs, when its fandom stuff it works kinda similar though, either in the connections i wanna draw or just thinking it further- like how deities in destiny work also just kinda .. happened like an ever derailing train

like for demise i was at first really just im gonna give him horns bc horns are cool and he got those on the starting mural in the game- so how his hair work? well maybe it isnt hair actually and just unbound energy, im making him a deity too and fit hylias design to his so, yeah, then so how does it work, ok he gotta have a skeleton still, but what if his entire actual body is made up of pure magical energy with its core in the ribcage? with the core in the ribcage >:3c and the scales you see are just like cooled down lava as an armor bc his thing is fire and earth !! the normal blood? is a thin layer of skin imiated from mortals to keep the scales together and flexible so if he ACTUALLY gets hurt hed bleed magic that looks more like lava and any normal blood you see is just the armor- so why does he have a skeleton still instead of being just energy? maybe its gotta be bound to something OH and what if all of the deities started as mortals like a mirror to the trio later on and the gods cannot have direct influence to the worlds so they needed a right hand that is neither god nor mortal but both by killing a mortal by whatever their element will be (demise burned, hylia drowned etc) and their skeleton and spirit is kept but put into a body of magic- OH what if their spirit core is like almost piloting their bodies like a mech in a way bc if youd look close youd see that every strand of magic is actual a hand of their spirit so it makes it more weird and other bc hed be able to reach out with thousands of burning claws of all shapes and sizes like the beheaded forest god at the end of mononoke- SO if hed lose and arm or something all those strands would untangle and rearrange his bones back together-OH MY GOD the whole armor idea works so well for ghirahims dark armor so what if demise had two swords once and lost one and since has forged an armor similar to his own for ghirahim out fo fear of losing him t---

and that all is a process that happens over several weeks and months not rarely while i am drawing something mindlessly and suddendly *have a thought* and omg that makes so much sense-

so "what" inspires my designs? an ever derailing train of thought about making cool thick monsters that arent the evil thing to get rid of for once? cool color schemes? idk it just kinda happens??

okay, I understand this was probably not the intended point of this ask, but it is too late. you have activated my trap card. we are talking about Slugcat Worldbuilding Headcanons now.

(Spoilers ahead for… basically every campaign.)

For Hunter: I imagine "Hunter" is more of a nickname, and that NSH normally refers to them more as his courier or messenger. I tend to call them "Hunter" for writing convenience (even in their own POV, so far), but they don't really call themself that much. They have a lot of identity issues tied up in being created for a Very Specific Purpose and not really knowing how to think of themself outside of it; they're a divine messenger, but that's not really a name. Until their purpose is fulfilled, they don't think about themself as a person often enough to actually consider things like names.

For Survivor: I like the headcanon that slugcats (at least in Surv/Monk/Gourm's colony) are given simpler names as pups, and sort of "earn" a more descriptive title/adult name as they mature. In my usual read of them, they would have just been "white/pale one" when they still lived with their colony, and gave themself the name "Survivor" some time after their fall.

For Monk: their pup name, which they have during their campaign, is something like "yellow one", and they don't earn a title until later. Even then, they aren't ever "Monk" in-universe, as slugcats don't quite have an equivalent social structure or role for that term to translate directly. The name they take instead means something more like "pacifist" or "gentle/wise/peaceful one", though there are some loosely similar social connotations to early Ancient society's version of monkhood, with implications of spiritual attunement, insight, and vague otherworldliness.

For Artificer: I imagine this name to be a matter of in-universe translation jank. Their actual name is something closer to "crafter" or "clever one that makes things" (again, connotations are tricky to translate!), but those simply do not possess the same pizzazz. The Scavengers also call them "Red Death" or sometimes "Red Mother", which ends up becoming a sort of mythological figure later on, like a Scavenger boogeyman. Future slugcat colonies end up sort of adopting back the mythology of the Red Mother as a protective deity/spirit, so they mostly call her that in the future. "Red" was probably their pup name, too.

For Spearmaster: Seven Red Suns calls them "messenger" and "07" -- I like to think the former becomes a nickname (their character designer, Faeling, headcanons SRS calling them "Messy" as a nickname/diminutive which I think is adorable), but Spearmaster themself might have adopted the latter too at some point, maybe almost like a family name, because they like that it connects them to Seven Red Suns. I also figure that other wild slugcats might have various nicknames for them, especially since SM would have no easy way to introduce themself -- and the name "Spearmaster" might come from that, actually! But I also like the idea of a future folktale version of them similar to with Artificer, with various names depending on the opinions of the colony/culture in question: "Cousin Thorn-tail", "the Spear-sapper", "the Drinker", and so on.

For Gourmand: again, I imagine this as a case of translation jank, and whatever they're called has slightly different connotations, though I'm less decided on what it should actually be. "Gourmand" is just so… specific? I feel like whatever they've got going on should be equally untranslatable, though. It's something along the lines of "appraiser" and "crafter" and "skilled forager", with this implication of like… knowing about valuable/desirable things and how to find/make them, and also having a strong personal taste for them? "Connoisseur", almost? But not quite as fancy. Their pup name was just "big one", though -- pup Gourmie wasn't quite the absolute unit they are as an adult, but they were definitely always a big slugcat.

For Rivulet: I like the idea this really is just their name! Little-stream-of-water! It's actually their pup name, but they left their colony before coming of age (ran away to become an adventurer), and never really found a title they liked. They think Moon calling them Ruffles is cute, but it's definitely just a nickname.

For Saint: the name does translate directly, not because slugcats have a concept of sainthood, but because the title they gave themself is the literal term taken from the Ancients. I headcanon that they were raised by or around an iterator and know a lot of The Lore, and sorta borrowed some of these concepts for how they see themself… a sort of divine sufferer bringing peace to others, martyring themself for the sake of mercy. Their pup name was just "tongue" or something, though, if they had one at all.

More than likely, John would have chosen to leave and go die and be the hero like in Meat, but there was still the possibility that he would stay, even if it was unlikelier than the other, but since both were possible choices for him to realistically make, both actually happened for real

CALLIOPE: anyway, the reason i went on this tangent in the first place was to explain that the space we are standing in right now has a special significance, in that it is the location which corresponds to the black hole's singUlarity

that’s interesting, so there’s the original meteor that crashed into the surface of Earth C, and it’s in here that the singularity of what I don’t wanna call the Green Hole to match the Green Sun when I wanna talk about this specific Black Hole lolol

but yeah, here in this meteor lies the crux of the paradox it seems, interesting, also interesting again, this is where that Hiveswap Portal is

Hiveswap does have a plot point of “Joey must do thing in 11 days otherwise Earth and Alternia will be destroyed” and the only known destruction event of Earth and Alternia so far in canon is the Green Sun’s Creation from the destruction of both universes (and then later Callie’s destruction of the green sun into the black hole) so is Hiveswap gonna be a factor in the green sun’s destruction/creation as well? (Joey has the symbol of the Green Sun for a reason, I’m super curious as to what factor Joey has in relation to the Green Sun’s Existence, We still don’t know what the fact those black monsters are too, they’re like nega-first guardians, the kind of things that look like would come out of a Black Hole that came from the Green Sun tbh)

time travel and spacial teleportation could be said to be the same thing all along

that’s why violating the events of the future has actual consequences, because its like asking to go somewhere that doesn’t exist but how has to exist because it’s the future, too much of that and reality starts cracking at the seams to make room

same thing happens with sessions and playing sburb

the planets and dreaming moons and all that simultaneously have always existed here, and started existing only because the player played the game and the planets were generated upon entering a session, but to the player involved, it looks and feels like you are just being teleported to a different location in the universe, because you also kind of are

CALLIOPE: i mean, the natUre of space and time is a little finicky in here, bUt for the most part it doesn't seem to be anything too oUt of the ordinary.

CALLIOPE: bUt Upon her departUre, the rift closed for good. as far as i can see, there's simply no way for Us to commUnicate with the world oUtside the black hole.

CALLIOPE: i woUld certainly be very sUrprised to find oUt that anyone had managed sUch a thing!

JOHN: knowing that we're inside of a black hole... does that actually change anything?

JOHN: like, can't we just go on living like normal?

To be honest, I’d think you’d need a powerful Doom player at your disposal to even try something like this

or actually, a powerful Doom user would be most likely to shut this entire thing down, knowing how bad of an idea it’d be, maybe it’s more you need a powerful Life player to do something like this instead

is that also why Dirk viewed Jane as an ally then? She would technically have the kind of power to upend the black and white doomy laws of reality if driven to her full potential, i mean obviously yes, we know this already because of the candy colored I-can-do-whatever-I-want-with-no-consequences lollipop

Is this what Calliope hopes to achieve with the Hiveswap Portal then? her goals for Joey and friends are to be the ones to prevent their universe’s twin destructions, and thus the Green Sun’s initial existence and then also the destruction into the Black Hole after the fact? that would be one way to prevent the Black Hole from existing, making it so the thing that creates the black hole never exists either

and that's certainly a canon event that would be difficult to tear asunder without major consequences

That would be a “Re-writing Homestuck from the very beginning” level of canon event

And if I’m correct, Joey is theorized by me to be a Mage of Life, if any classpect at their full potential was gonna do something like that, or have the impossible knowledge to something impossibly paradoxical like that, well..

so, the opening salvo of the whole conversation was to give lupin a monkey. which is still a pretty wide field, but i had a pretty clear image of what i wanted and did a little poking around and came out with the crab-eating or long-tailed macaque:

they live alongside humans in several places, and one of the behaviors that developed is to steal small items, then refuse to give it back until food is offered in return. so right away we have a smart, pragmatic thief; they’re sacred temple animals in a few places, and a really devastating invasive species in others.

gladhatter suggested a horse for goemon - elegant, powerful, and totally unwieldy and unsuited to modern society. specifically i’m gesturing in the direction of the kiso horse:

which is a Japanese breed - normally i wouldn’t be a stickler about, like, geographical origin, but (gestures at goemon) Goemon. kiso horses were outcrossed extensively during the meiji era, as an attempt to breed taller and stronger horses for the imperial army; all kiso stallions were ordered to be gelded and replaced by imported stock. one (ONE!) purebred stallion associated with a temple remained intact, became the foundation of the modern breed, and today there’s a conservation group associated with the bottlenecked little population that’s left. that’s genuinely so fascinating and before today i had no idea whatsoever.

jigen has a timber rattlesnake, in a liddol hat.

an american snake for basically the same reason as goemon has a japanese horse - jigen is a slightly less overt caricature of an american gangster, with some cowboy arguably mixed in. that was mostly a happy accident, though, because i wanted a reptile (for that quality of lounging/basking when nothing else is going on), a dangerous animal (besides the obvious analogy of the strong venom, timber rattlesnakes will pick out elevated ambush spots and wait for prey. sniping!), and something that was defensive rather than aggressive (the theoretical danger posed by rattlesnakes is offset a lot by how shy they are and how much warning they give before striking).

we tossed around a couple associations for fujiko before settling on lint’s suggestion of the margay or tree ocelot:

which is a vocal mimic - they’ve been observed imitating monkey sounds, one of their prey animals. they’re mostly solitary and incredibly flexible to facilitate climbing through trees. in the end, though, lot of the choice comes down to the cat visual personality of something smug, elegant, and luxiurious, and the logistics of being relatively easy for fujiko to disguise or switch up the appearance of - they’re bigger than the average domestic cat but not so much bigger i’d necessarily double-take, if the fur were dyed or altered when fujiko needs to be undercover.

torenchikoto suggested a jack russel terrier for zenigata:

police & hunting dogs are a pretty obvious association! JRTs won out specifically as a persistent, high-energy working dog, bred for fox hunts and likely to backslide into aggression, destruction, and stubbornness if they don’t have a clear job to do... packed into an animal which is nevertheless about a foot long.

and finally, yata is here purely because i like The Concept of Yata and want to elevate him above his origins, and i think he would be a good meerkat:

a very earnest little fuzzy thing with a strong social hierarchy which takes turns on watch duty. i wanted something that would give me the flustered bumbling newbie energy without leaving out the occasional capacity for insights and sass; meerkats are part of the mongoose family and will absolutely kick a snake’s ass if they need to, which isn’t specifically meant as an interaction with jigen’s daemon but it isn’t not that.

Robot Scribbles AU stuff!!

This is all taken from a discord server N slightly reformated so!, 

N its all I have on him pretty much n everything story wise thus Far!!

This post will also uuh explain stuff bout this AU’s Bendy,  In terms of this AU’s Joey,I haven't rly thought up much on him-

More to come? Perhaps! But for now this is all I hav:

Robot!Scribbles: Same height as his Canon Self, 6'10

Body is made out of this smooth, sleek, sort of Shiny black metal?? Glossy and Smooth- On his head, down the back of his neck he has a mess of curled, tangled wire, sorta gives him the appearance of havin a head of curly hair almost! Has more of these curled wires down along his back, though these r much longer and he's able to move these, Stretch them longer- they end in frayed wire and will occasionally spark at the ends of them.

Arms r made of segmented coiled wire?? tht r a dark steel color, Is able to stretch them longer and uncoil them, Hands end in hooked silver claws, when his arms are uncurled the wires made from his arms each end in a hooked claw! Has a long tail of coiled wire that end in more frayed wire, will spark sometimes like the ones on his back.

His legs r sorta like unguligrade?? End in Points tht r flat on the bottom tho and have a point that floats a Lil off of the back of his 'foot'?? idk how to Describe thm HGD

Like his normal self he has two horns on either side of his head, Horn on his left is more bent in then the one on his Right! His face is a slightly lighter, black screen- Displayed on the screen r two white piecut eyes, Though on the right side of his screen its cracked/broken- making the eye Look warped/Stretched, kind of glitchy. The smile for his mouth is like- a Equalizer, white and it moves when he talks/makes noises!! Iss like this(tw Flashy/Eyestrainy!)

His Smile will glow brighter while Talking, and his eyes are glowy!!

Scribbles himself has this slight warmth to his body, and to his screen. Has a sliight heat to him when you touch him!(If you happen to fluster him he’ll get Warmer and so will his screen, and it’ll lead to it glitching a bit and flickering, and his voice getting stuttery with crackly static.)

His screen is also able to like- Break off, To reveal two Bright glowing white lights in shadow, and a mess of tangled wire and v jagged pieces of metal/teeth- This only really happens when he’s Pissed off enough Usually.

His voice is also Really Messed up- Kinda shifts between volume a lot- tends to have a pretty loud voice, He can kind of control the volume of his voice to a certain extent, but under moments of high stress, or really strong emotion- their voice will get louder and get heavily distorted the longer he's stressed/ distressed.

Also due to Glitching like he does, he ends up repeating words when he doesn't mean to- if he happens to glitch when speaking, it can manifest in him being 'hung up' on a certain word and repeating it a few times before it'll pass- Or his voice will suddenly get very distorted- or even just. Cut out entirely.

When angered, his voice will get a Lot more distorted/crackly- and growly sounding- can get to the point its pretty much incomprehensible sometimes. His purring is more like a low, Deep whirring/rumbling sound!

Scribbles also has this sort of- Soft? Plush-Smooth, Squishy material from his inner Thighs, Hips, to his stomach and to his chest. It’s a lighter shade of black compared to the rest of his body, He is..Rounmd, Chubby- n Sofft.

A.I/Robot Bendy: Unsure on how..Uh big he is?? Pretty big-He’s not fully built.

Bendy is attached to a arm thats on this swivel that hangs down from the ceiling that allows him to move. He’s half built- Half a torso that looks like they had their Arm ripped off and lower half is missing- They have their right Arm and a mangled mess of wire and his spin that stretches into a long length of thin wires. He’s made of pitch black, bent- scratched metal, Rusted in certain spots like his hand- His head has two long horns on either side of it, Face is a smashed, broken screen that’ll occasionally flicker to life showing a distorted pair of bright red pie cut eyes- that’ll glitch and seemingly melt down over the broken screen, and a crooked Very wide smile. 

Their one hand ends in crooked, hooked claws and they have jagged spines that trail down along their back. Seemingly has this thick- tar like black liquid that melts off of him from the cracks in his screen and the mangled mess of wires hanging off from his mangled torso.

Bendy is a forgotten- Abandoned A.I left to rot in Joey’s facility- Created by Joey, Put in the darkest corner of the facility and forgotten about pretty much, locked away from everyone and everything else, Kept in the dark about the world around them. Joey doesn’t realize though they have ways of seeing things in the facility- Able to ‘slip’ through the broken cracks in his screen, in their body and into the systems of the facility- He lacks eyes/can’t see- So the cameras in the building act as his eyes, allow him glimpses of things around him.

Overall, His abilities are limited though, His communication to anyone, or anything are limited- Unable to really reach out to anyone, Up until Joey builds Scribbles.

Bendy also has this almost- Sense of divinity to him, Like he isn’t A god- But..In the way he carries himself almost- the way he speaks, Acts, there’s this air of other worldly, sort of divinity to this Odd, Forgotten A.I. Sort of like- He’s been forgotten/left alone for so long- they’ve kind of Evolved- I am unsure of exactly how to say what I mean HGFDSHG He’s just, become something FAR more then a simple A.I at this point- something Bigger then That.

OK FINALLY ONTO THE STORY/ STUFF I’VE COME UP WITH SO FAR:

This will pretty much be Mostly just, copy n pasted from discord, Maybe a LIL Reformatted but not much Probably!!

Scribbles being built and Joey wanting to know  if he can 'teach' a A.I to be someone else.

Builds Scribbles- And its after Henry's died(?), so he wonders if he could teach this A.I to be Henry? Maybe he can have him back that way.

It starts to work in the beginning, but it doesn't last though because somehow The A.I keeps deviating from what 'role' they've given it- Keeps acting out of line- almost acting like they are their own self- And that enrages Joey- The thing should be whatever he makes them be and yet? It's not.

Scribbles though? He's confused- He's Supposed to be Henry- but...he doesn't feel like he's Henry- Everything tells him to be Henry-

But it feels...wrong- It's not right- But if he's not Henry....

Then Who is he?

Bendy is a witness to Scribbles Creation, and sees what Joey as doing as Wrong- And decides to sort of- Ruin his plans in a way, Free Scribbles from Joey’s ‘role’ he’s given him. He has a hand in giving them their sentience, and the idea that he can be his own Self.

Bendy somehow manages to reach out to Scribbles, Speaking to him in what Ways he can, reaching out to him in his limited ways(the specific Ways I can’t think of atm), And lures Scribbles to the forgotten/abandoned half of the facility where he meets him for the first time. The two sort of have..A Chat- in the only Way Bendy can, He slips out of from his body- and Goes into Scribbles, Partly- so he can speak to him.

It uh- Has a pretty Big effect on Scribbles, Sort of- Short circuits them- Changes them, Its a bit overwhelming and a Literal Shock to his systems- Bendy unfortunately hadn’t realized he couldn’t handle them/isn’t built to be able to. And due to this it pretty much Overwhelms the robot.

Scribbles hears him though- He hears this forgotten A.I’s words and those words Stay with him- Ingrained in their version of a ‘mind’. Unsure of the exact things Bendy says, Tells him or shows him, But Scribbles manages to pull themselves off the floor- bit shaky on their feet now as Bendy pulls themselves from him, slinking back to his body.

The two stare at one another- Scribbles with the eyes on his screen- And Bendy with the cameras mounted in the corners of the room. After this for a few moments- Scribbles says goodbye to him and leaves. Instead of it being a word spoken with no emotion, There’s something to it- Fear?- Confusion? Bendy is uncertain but hopes the strange Robot takes his words and keeps them.

These words do Stay with Scribbles, who now finds themselves thinking- Thinking things far more then what he should be able to with what Joey intended him to be- And its..Quite a overwhelming feeling..He starts to feel like whoever- Whatever this ‘Henry’ is- That that’s not him- Due to Scribbles having this encounter with Bendy he’s sort of like- Broken?? His body is no longer suited for him- Since Bendy’s kind of changed him, That encounter is how he gets the broken part of his Screen- And it leads to his body sort of..Starting to Intergrade things into themselves, to try and fix themselves. 

Pretty much- After this encounter with Bendy, his body is unfitting for his ‘A.I’ now, therefore its pretty much Constantly falling part in a way,  breaking down/degrading- To hold this off n sort of fix themselves, Scribbles’ body starts to like, absorb- Intergrate, other bits of tech and machinery into themselves. Does this by absorbing things with the wires on his back and even ‘Eating’ things sometimes(Not rly in the same way a Human would, More of- puts it in the mess of wire and teeth behind their screen n its..uh Devoured, absorbed.)

Joey starts to take Note of the..Odd behavior of his newest Robot, And is quite concerned by it- Watching how they seem..Distracted? Confused- Glitching, fumbling over words and even glitching. He’s run diagnostics, done checks- but he can’t seem..To find anything different- Then he sees Scribbles absorb something and He’s pretty much just:

“WHAT THE FUCK- THAT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN- HOW THE FUCK!!!?!?!!”

He takes to keeping Scribbles locked in his Lab, refusing to let the A.I out without his supervision- And takes notes of every bizarre behavior he sees from The robot.

At some point, While in his lab- Running even more diagnostics on Scribbles just to be safe, They speak to him-

Scribbles straight up Asking Joey why He has to be Henry.

It makes Joey freeze and stare at him- He almost feels scared- It shouldn't be asking this? It shouldn't be thinking- and yet its Looking at him, head tilted as they kick their legs from the counter their sat on- The white eyes on the screen have started to have a brighter glow on them, and they're looking directly at him.

It's just waiting for him to Answer them, He takes a moment to think of what to say- He feels deeply uncomfortable with their eyes on him- Shifting in place as he speaks.

"Because that's who I Want you to be"

The robot Sits up straighter, Blinking a few times- the smile on their face shifting to a frown as they look from him down to their hands. The coiled wires on their back shift a bit, and they twitch suddenly- Head twitching, the images on their screen flickering as they seem to be thinking- before looking back to him and speaking.

"Bu-ut wha-T I-If I don't Want to be Henry?"

It shouldn't be thinking. It shouldn't be asking this- It should just Listen to him and do as he says- It shouldn't be able to ASK this!...what the fuck was going on-?

Joey backs themselves away a bit, Suddenly feeling..Much more scared now, his creation doesn't seem to notice the fear as they keep their eyes trained on him, Watching him as he tries to figure out how to respond- stuttering, trying to hide the fear in his voice.

"Wh-well that doesn't m-Matter-You are Who I Say you are-"

The frown on the things face tilts down more, Seems like that wasn't the answer it wanted- It shouldn't matter the answer he gives it- it should just Take his Word and LISTEN!- do as he Tells them- but it doesn't respond, Simply frowns and looks away from him finally and down at the floor.

He takes this chance to leave- Quickly leaving the Lab- locking the door behind him and stumbling back from the door, staring at it with wide eyes. This wasn't right- this was wrong- What the fuck was Happening?!

Pretty much- Joey in that moment is just-

-if it Isn’t Obvious, Joey isn’t exactly a Good person-

Joey leaves the facility for the night, too freaked out to Stay there any longer- Assuming Scribbles will stay in their 'room' for the night- He thought wrong as Usual.

Scribbles manages to get the door open and leaves his room, wanders around the facility- While doing this he integrates a few things into himself- Part of him wonders why he does this? But it feels..Right- Makes him feel more..whole? So he doesn't think much on it while the tendrils on his back curl around small pieces of tech, sort of..absorbing? Them into him as he wanders.

Eventually, he makes his way back through the abandoned part of the facility and shows back up to Bendy. The old A.I turns the cameras on to see him. He feels happy to see them again, They seem..Different? They do not stand in the same- stiff way, they carry themselves differently- have..A curiosity to them? The tendrils shift on their back as they sit themselves down in front of him, looking up at them from where they're hanging from the ceiling.

The arm that Bendy's attached to moves- a loud creaking, grinding sound coming from it- it hasn't moved in so long, as he moves himself closer, lower so he's right in front of the other robot. A Broken hand reaches out and lightly touches the top of their head- Patting them on the head and Bendy..Smiles, the broken- smashed screen flickering a warped smile on its surface as Scribbles wags his tail, smiling back up at him.

Good, they're getting somewhere, Becoming their own- It makes Bendy feel..Proud! Happy- Joy.

His hand twitches a bit, as a thick- black liquid spills between the bent, rusted metal of the limb and curls around one of Scribbles horns- He needs to speak to them again. The other robot shudders- screen flickering but he doesn't break like he had before, blinking as he hears Bendy speak, the A.I's voice is Loud, Very loud in their head but it doesn't hurt like it had before.

Unfortunately I cannot think of the exact thing Bendy tells Scribbles, But he mentions he was watching through the cameras, and saw his and Joey’s little..Talk. He expresses happiness that they asked Joey such a question, but shows clear anger about what Joey’s response was. Telling him he can be whatever- whoever they’d like to be, Regardless of what Joey feels. He does not need to be this ‘Henry’ that Joey wants him to be.

Scribbles is confused- Asking him..Who should he be then, which makes the A.I flash a warped, broken frown on their screen. They tell him it is not something he, Or anyone else can tell him. Only he can decide who he should be- Who he Is. That is no one else’s decision but their Own. That in itself seems to make Scribbles more confused.

They don’t quite know how to be ‘himself’, He has no idea who, or What that is! If he knew, he could be- It quite literally makes Scribbles glitch- shuddering, screen flickering wildly before Bendy places a hand onto his head again, patting him once more- A calming gesture which seems to work thankfully. Bendy simply tells him to Think about it. Think about who he wants to be, He’s the only one who can decide it fr him. The only thing Bendy says is he shouldn’t let Joey decide for him, or allow him to stop him.

Scribbles nods his head slowly, before that black liquid pulls back- Slips from around his horn and crawls back into Bendy’s hand- As they pull away and pull back from them. They give him a nod of their head while Scribbles stands up- Waving goodbye to him and walking from his room once more. He has..A lot to think about. A lot that confuses him- but it feels Right? The fact it confuses him feels right in a way- Like it should, he thinks about things more as he makes his way back to the lab. Sitting on the metal table of the room where he goes into sleep mode, Screen cutting to black.

ANNNND That’s all I got!!! So far, GHDSHG Sorry if this is explained poorly- n all ovrr the place- I’m..Stupidly attached to Robot Scribbles, as well as Bendy! I’ll try and think of more bout this- So expect to see somethin more for this at Some point?? DO Lemme kno what u think tho..I love feedback on my stuff n knowing if u guys Enjoy it,, d:>

Shadows of the Dark Crystal liveblog pt 10

Shadows of the Dark Crystal by J. M. Lee BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW WHERE KYLAN WENT

Last times on book: Naia sets off on a journey to defend her brother Gurjin against accusations of treason against the Skeksis. She stops at Sami Thicket and is joined on her journey by Kylan the Song Teller. She and Kylan discuss a lot of cool lore and then he disappears. Dangit!

Chapter 12

Naia finds Kylan in a hole, another darkened creature occurs, and a lot of dreamfasting happens.

Apparently Kylan fell down a hole. Naia falls down the same hole while looking for him.

Womp womp.

Its some kind of dug-out burrow. Given the scale of the furniture, likely a Podling’s house but its abandoned. There’s dust all over everything and things have been left to rot. So abandoned or... would Podlings just leave behind everything or did something happen to the inhabitants?

Spooky.

Naia finds a mysterious and also spooky dark tunnel and decides, hey lets go explore down it! But remembering Kylan’s fear of darkness (because of the time his parents were horribly murdered by the Hunter) she tells Kylan to stay put while she explores.

“She trailed a hand across the overgrown wall to keep her bearings, feeling the soft spongy tendrils and leaves of the life that had taken root in the cavern’s abandoned insides. The leaves and coils shivered as she passed, crowding around her fingers to take in her scent, kissing her knuckles and fingertips.”

How evocative. I would hate it. But it does remind me of the swamp/forest scene from the movie. Which is a specific setting moment that Dark Crystal doesn’t always recapture.

Thra is weird! And a bit unsettling!

Naia sees a weird glow among the weird wall plants and starts digging at the soil of the wall to find out what it is. And she finds another one of those dark crystal (ha) veins, like the one she saw near the giga-nebrie.

Whatever these dark crystals (ha!), it goes beyond the Sog or its spreading.

Then Kylan calls for her help and she hears something big digging through the Earth.

“It’s the Hunter,” Kylan whispered, grabbing her arm in terror. “He’s here. He took the Podlings. Now he’s come to take us!”

This poor boy.

Also, huh, I guess the Hunter would account for the missing Podlings. Seems like random cave Podlings wouldn’t be ‘a worthy prey’ but maybe he’s just a serial killer who likes to fancy himself up.Where was the ‘hunt’ in killing Kylan’s parents in their home at night?

But no, its not the Hunter. Its a ruffnaw! That other thing Kylan mentioned wanting protection from, aside from fizzgigs.

It had thick oily fur coated in dirt and mud, and its eyeless face was spiked with hundreds of long whiskers. At the end of its pointed nose was a red flanged cluster of nostrils that flared when it took in the open air, flashing a warning crimson. The color was a sign of danger, and so were the huge hooked claws that made up the creature’s front paws.

I’m imagining.... a pissed off mole that’s also a wolf? I dunno. I can’t find a picture.

Another fun use for dreamfasting? JUST PSYCHIC!

Naia grabs Kylan’s hand and dreamfasts with him so they can talk to each other without making noise. I guess the limitation is that they have to be touching for it to work but its so cool that Gelfling are just vaguely psychic.

She warns him that the creature has been enraged by the crystals in the Earth and he tells her that Ruffnaw hunt by sensing movement, not by sight. Which seems obvious. What with the no eyes.

Neither Gelfling found another exit than the one they fell in so Naia gets some rope out of her pack to make an escape rope but the ruffnaw jumps on Kylan who backed away nervously.

Noooooo the very thing he feared would happen!

Naia jumps on the ruffnaw to try to keep it off Kylan. She considers stabbing it with Gurjin’s Sweet Real Metal Knife but remembering how the giga-nebrie reacted to being hit in the eye makes her reconsider.

No swamp to vibe in here.

Instead she. Dreamfasts with the ruffnaw??

I know Gelfling are vaguely psychic but what??

Instead, in desperation, she reached out to the ruffnaw with her mind. She first felt a searing, blinding light, then saw a dark jagged silhouette floating in a tunnel of fire, and finally felt the groaning of Thra itself - creaking and moaning in agony.

You keep getting mysterious visions, Naia. Are you perhaps some manner of protagonist?

Then a whistle frightens the ruffnaw and it darts back down the tunnel it came from.

A dazed and confused Naia finds the escape rope and hucks it back up the hole and Kylan and Naia escape the spooky burrow.

“What happened? With that whistling call... Was that you?”

Kylan put his small fingers into his mouth and curled his lips in, then blew a loud, bold whistle that carried across the plan. He put his hands in his lap and shrugged.

“The ruffnaw fears the hollerbat call,” he said. “I heard it in a song.”

Naia sighed, but whether it had come from a song or not, it had worked.

Hey! Kylan has had decent rate of success so far with stuff he remembers from songs! Just saying! This is why bards rock.

Naia being vaguely annoyed that Kylan is 99% book learning by volume amuses me though.

Also amuses me: Naia checking her pack to make sure she didn’t drop anything in the doom cave and sees a trembling tail at the very bottom of her pack. She pulls the tail and out comes a terrified Neech who Naia soothes and then dunks on.

“It’s all right. It’s over. No thanks to you, little spithead.”

Ha.

Naia tells Kylan she dreamfasted with the ruffnaw and like me he’s like wait you can DO that??

He helps her over to a tree to rest under and since she’s so exhausted she can’t help but accidentally dreamfast a bit, mostly the emotions they were feeling in that doom hole. Like her shame that she wasn’t able to save them with wings she didn’t have yet.

At some point in this liveblog I’ll stop talking about how thrilled I am with this expansion on what dreamfast does and is but that time is not right now.

Because now I’m thinking about it. Gelfling can accidentally dreamfast just by touching someone. Is this idea that its rude to do that just something thats been socialized into them and not how their culture would have naturally developed? Because they’re psychic at a touch but can also hold stuff back. In this bout of accidental dreamfast, Naia still manages to keep some stuff hidden, although its Effort.

I don’t know but it seems like its something that all Gelfling are able to do. That when they’re young they do it pretty indiscriminately, and then a sign of maturity is that they start closing themselves off from other people.

Anyway, Kylan remarks that Naia knows more than she’s letting on considering she wasn’t surprised at the way the ruffnaw was behaving.

Naia decides to expo dump to him since they are companions, heck maybe even friends.

So Naia shares with Kylan... basically the book up until now. Although she keeps the stuff about Gurjin treason a secret.

Kylan shares with Naia his life and the night his parents were taken by the Hunter.

And here’s the weird thing! Naia sees the Hunter in the dreamfast! Not clearly, because it was dark! But she sees the bone mask and the eyes.

Maudra Mera claims she couldn’t see anything but darkness when she dreamfasted with Kylan.

So did Maudra Mera not see because she didn’t want to see? Did she deny what she did see? Intrigue...

Anyway, Naia tells Kylan about the crystals she keeps seeing.

“The crystal veins... they’re a sickness in Thra,” Naia said. “They darken the hearts of creatures. I worry about what might happen if the sickness reaches the Castle of the Crystal.”

Oooooof.

“The Skeksis will protect the Crystal,” Kylan assured her. “Ancient gods gave them the power to protect it when the castle was entrusted to them.”

Ooooooooooooof.

There’s a lot of dramatic irony in this book.

Also, “ancient gods”? Plural? Has Aughra been spun off into several people in myth? Give me the lore!

I actually wonder about Gelfling religion because. The stuff they can believe in is so tangible. The Crystal is Right There. They have immortalish Skeksis, akin to gods, living at the center of their culture. The world itself made a person just to hang out with its inhabitants.

Anyyyyway. The little adventure in the cave burrow has so wiped out Naia that she calls it a day and they make camp right under that tree they stopped to rest at.

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  sonic colors!!! i watched chuggaconroy’s lp of it bc my brother said he thought i would like it and i LOVED sonic. so much. i love how he was so jokey and fun and dorky but also cool and how he protected tails above all else and how he got angry at the injustice the wisps were facing and how he just acted so Chill while out running a black hole and then just being? again so chill and confident when he gets brought back to earth. the ending of colors is one of my FAV things and i couldnt pinpoint to exactly why but i so specifically love the bit where he rubs under his nose and says all determined ‘a hedgehogs gotta do whata  hedgehogs gotta do’ like!! i love him. he’s so cool but also talks to robots that cant hear him

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  the plots i have planned mostly EDFVGBH but also i just. love sonic? so much as a character. he means a lot to me so just by default my affection for him gives me motivation and its ultimately what brought me back to the rpc, i just. really missed him!

Prompt #2

Got an uhh.. Aasimar and Tiefling I would like to play, should anyone indulge me. I've had their characters for a while, but this is the first time I've played them dnd Verse. Looking very specifically for female characters here.

Lupa is a Fallen Aasimar, though she's true neutral by nature. She has beautiful eyes that look like literal ruby's, with curly hair cut braided tightly on one side, and left loose and fluffy on the other. It does, in fact, glow. She's well muscled, but in an absolutely elegant and graceful sort of way. Has bronze skin, with bright red freckles that glow and burn under her skin. She has patches of Vitiligo on her back, that flush out against her shoulder blades. She's so tall! so tall, like 6'3, 6'4. She's an uhhhh Pyromancer Sorcerer. Comes off as very stoic, though quickly shows herself to be a gremlin. Tends not to take things so seriously, even if it seems like she does otherwise.

Comparatively, Ambrosia is a short tiefling, with large ram horns that curl thickly outward, and, not unlike her companion, large curly hair. It sort of, flows and floats through the air, as though she's underwater. The hair is a mix of pinks and white shades, and her skin looks marbled in nature. She also has those sweet hooved feet, and has a soft bit of fluff at the end of a thin tail. She's stocky, with a bit more muscle to her. Stands maybe about 5'4? She's a Brute Fighter, who specializes in Battle Axe and War Hammers, though can strike up a mean duel when convinced correctly. She's very joyful, a Neutral Good. Comes off as being a bit more gentle then she is, though has a soft spot for children and ppl who aren't too good at standing up for themselves.

The two of them are working through some things right now. Working through some FEELINGS. But its fine, its okay. They can be GAY on MAIN.

The plot idea I had for this is that your character is either apart of or hosting some kinda Gala, while my characters are in charge of distracting yours while the third member of their party goes through and grabs what they need from this house. Your character can genuinely be the host, or maybe someone that was invited (or ALSO came to the party for some underhanded means). Trust me they're dumb and gay and don't have the internet the possibility of them slipping up is obnoxiously high. (Guilty pleasure of mine, but also could possibly be the eldest daughter of some old nobility that gets charmed by the two of them and swept away? You know how it be sometimes!!) Or maybe your character is the young child of nobility, who's kind of forgotten about by their parents? Smth like that.

I'm good with NSFW scenes if you are, given the character and roleplayer is 18+. Actually, I like nothing more then the idea of them being pulled off into a library or bed/bath to distract your character, and then some. Might have to deal with two clueless lesbians too, but thats fine. However, we don't gotta. I just as much like the idea of getting into some dergeounds and dragons shenanigans. Some polyam shenams.

It was a simple job, all things considered.

Getting into the gala was easy. The twins mother had the connections they needed, knew how to sweet talk and sugar coat her words. An invite was all but assured through that woman. While they knew not the layout of the place, they practically had all night. These gala's could run for /hours/, an unending run around.

On paper, it was easy. Which meant that there was always something outside the plans that would throw a wrench in it.

Get in, get the papers, get out.

It should be easy.

Lupa felt absolutely gorgeous right now.

Of course, that wasn't to say she didn't normally think she was beautiful. No, no. That was nothing more then a statement of fact, a favor that came with heritage and luck, and confidence that come in knowing both of these things. But there was a difference between KNOWING her own looks, and feeling as though she'd just been dipped in liquid gold.

They'd worked her hair for hours. It was the thing she noticed first and foremost. It's pulled up tight against her head, ornaments and beads strung through to create a colored, gentle glow. It takes a moment of picking for her to notice that they'd picked specifically glass beads, and she rolls them around in her fingers as though testing their limits time and time again. Its a hairstyle she normally does not have, and one she thinks she won't keep once it falls out of place. But for now, it looks.. good. Tight on the head, but good nonetheless.

They'd done well on her make up. The red hues looked good against bronze, and she thinks that maybe they'd maybe bought the dress specifically for her. It fits against her form, one arm hidden under sleeve, the other framed by precious metal and gem. The sleeve leads down her arm, and stops just over the back of her hand. Theres a pattern on it that she thinks, with her brief knowledge of embroidery, must have taken hours to complete.

However beautiful she feels, however, is nothing compared to how beautiful Ambrosia looks.

She's talking to one of the twins- Kimon, when she steps into view, saying something akin to the words, "Remember, the party is centered around the garden, so if you want to have the most luck getting in and out then.." When she glances and happens upon the tieflings form.

They've left her hair loose in all its glory. The streaks of pink flurry through the clouds of white, and her hair floats high around her head as she steps closer. They went with light makeup - A good call, if you asked her. The woman looked fine on her own, none needed. Thales must have gone out of his way to decorate her horns, because the ornaments on it are new, tight to the bone and unblemished by fight and time. Her dress is nothing akin to hers. Shades of silver and blue shimmer and shimmy with every step. It falls to her knee's, though the top of it wraps around her chest tight enough to keep itself in place. The gemstones she wears catch the dimmed light from the windows, lighting her skin with shadows of color.

However, the prettiest thing has to be the expression on her face. There's this grin on her face that covers half of it, and Lupa remembers that she didn't have much like this. Not normally, anyway. She looks as though being dipped in make-up and cloth has changed her life, and though she still has calloused hands and sharp muscles from heaving weaponry around, she thinks that maybe it would feel weird seeing her without it. (She wants nothing more, she thinks, then to give her this everyday. She doesn't understand it, but this is the happiest she's seen the woman in weeks.)

"Oh!" Ambrosia says, like she's just as startled to see her, "Lupa you look..."

Lupa nods, "I'm aware," Monotoned. She's not one to take compliments when she already knows them to be true. Ambrosia startles, though after a moment laughs. She continues, however, "You look.. Spectacular. You're going to steal the show away, at this rate."

".. Me?" She blinks, pulls at one of her bracelets. Lupa doesn't dignify that with a reply, and the man next to her snorts into his hand. She almost stomps on his toes in turn.

"Come on. I was just going over this plan with Kimon. We might as well rehash it again now that you're here."

The manner is large, and to a degree unnerving to stare up at.

The twins came from money. It was an undeniable fact. It was old money, inherited from a father they'd no longer knew nor supposedly remembered, and carefully monitored through their mother. But Money was money, she supposed. Despite this, they lived modestly for their wealth. Their mother lived in a house big enough for herself and her sons, big enough to house multiple guests and then some. Big enough to be spacious, and certainly bigger then the average living space. But they'd not been spoiled with servant, and that space got used well with the sort of generosity that had come with time and well knowing experience.

The same could not be said for this manner, she feels.

Her heels click against a smooth, gracious surface, and she can't help but feel even marginally intimidated by the sight. She wonders, for a moment, how many of the rooms get consistent use. Even the outside of the building looks as though it was simply dressed up for the Occassion. The lights that shine and glow on it color its white washed walls in vivid shades of rainbow, dancing and glimmering in her peripherals. She can place a name to the spell with little issue - Dancing Lights, one she'd become more then familiar with thanks to their bards cantrips.

"Lupa,"

She feels the woman next to her shift closer, and when she glances to meet her eyes, she finds them gazing up to the buildings with wide amazement. And in that moment, she cares not about how pretentious it seems anymore.

The party, of course, is about as dry as she'd expected.

It's mostly rich people with far too much time on their hands, using the excuse of drinking and small talk to attempt to sell their goods or make new connections. Most of the dancing are the same, or similar enough in nature that they follow a pattern in time to the tune. If theres anything she's learned in her travels, theres no party like a bunch of drunken sailors singing at the top of their lungs. She likes to think that most here would have a heart attack at the sheer idea of someone heaving themselves onto a table to dance.

But Ambrosia has spent the last hour falling from person to person on the dance floor, and though she came in supposedly not knowing but one of the dances, she's managed to pick up on four by now. She's always been quite good at that. Maybe that could use that to their advantage at some point... She catches the other woman's gaze, and theres a moment that passes between the two of them that almost rings with.. confusion? A silent question, one of which she does well not to answer. And in doing so, turns her gaze away from the other.

Next she knows, she see's a glass shoved in her face, champaign bubbles popping on skin. "Drink," The woman tells her, raising an eyebrow to her as she does, "Here I thought I was the nervous one. You look as though you know The Raven Queen herself is going to come and collect the souls of everyone in this room," Ambrosia laughs at her own joke, and it's as light as the air in the room.

"... Sorry," Though she takes the glass, she does not drink from it. It wouldn't do her much good--- It takes far more to get her tipsy then a glass of rich-man's liquor.

Ambrosia reaches past her to grab one of the premade plates, tail lashing behind her as she picks from the bunch. Excitement? "Are you just going to stand here all night?" She asks. Maybe irritation...

Lupa takes a moment to consider it, "I need to keep an eye out for our hosts," She says, and she knows its an excuse, "If they come in and we manage to miss them-" She has to take a look around to make sure theres no one around, "Kimon and Thales might get caught. Neither of us can risk that, Ambrosia." The tiefling stares. The pause in long enough that she feels the need to add- "Besides, These events have never been much fun for me. it’s no surprise i like appmon and i do like that scorpmon harkens back to digimon designs by being edgy and having guns, plus he’s purple.i like the cameramon line so far and i liked the fight he had with dogatchmon. 

19. infernmon

one of my more favourite perfect level designs, i like that his mouth has a gun hidden in it and i loved how it was in our war games. honestly its got that kind of uncanny look on its face that makes it look both evil and cunning yet not hostile. its just a design i really appreciate, plus it looks cute when it tucks its limbs in,

18. dogatchmon

i like gatchmon and navimon, so combining their designs makes something i like. no brainer really. he gets alot of good fight scenes and whatnot in appmon and honestly he looks pretty sleek yet compact. not too much to say here he’s a more basic design in appmon i appreciate for not being too silly or edgy.

17. omegamon alter-b

out of all his numerous forms, this is the omegamon im most attached to, specifically because of next-0rder. i like the idea of swapping the weapons and imbuing it with darkness and letting it run wild, as well as being an alter evolution, it just looks really cool and was a great fight in the game as well. plus its just got a cool name.

16. millenniumon 

i always thought its previous form as kimairamon was a clusterfuck of colours, yet had potential as a design. so dampening those colours to darker greys, blacks and a little blue accented with that yellow and blue aura with those sick mugen cannons on it help bring the design together really, plus it looks thinner and meaner than its perfect form. 

15. leviamon

my favourite demon lord. i like marine life that can kill you and has teeth. plus im a very envious person, so this thing stuck with me, especially since he’s the most different looking out of the demon lords. i just like the idea of a giant crocodile being the second most powerful among the demon lords with a mouth big enough to rip a building in half if he wanted to. plus having two tails is cute.

14. chaosdukemon

honestly the uses of dull purples, blues and a shade of grey thats not quite black and not steel coloured either makes a very subtly impressive design, one that would convey dread over terror. im particularly fond of how its shield looks to be honest.

13. herakleskabuterimon

the only one who doesnt quite fit the theme of this list too well. huh. either way i think the tentomon line is a decent one only upstaged by a few others in adventure as it goes, yet ends up being my favourite ultimate from tri when all the kids get ultimate evolutions. i do like how it has a few nods to kuwagamon and has enough going on yet stays simple by using a mostly one colour. it looks powerful without trying too hard and i feel like i can respect this thing.

12. megidramon

i consider this to be guilmon’s true ultimate really and it does look quite terrifying. it has acidic saliva, hellfire themed design, elements of megalogrowlmon such as the arm blades and looks like a scary dragon rather than a dinosaur. i also like its lack of legs for some reason. when i imagine the digital hazard this thing first comes to mind, because it looks like a menace to any digimon really. its a woefully underused design and one that sticks with me to this day as something that really stood out in tamers.

11. megaseadramon

seadramon’s design was simple but not memorable really. megaseadramon has a much more effective design, using colours that mesh better, i like that its hair looks like algae and i like the metal twisted horn that shoots lightning, hearkening back to betamon. i also find it kind of cute, its slender and looks like it’d probably kill you on sight and i kind of like its demented eyes.

10. diablomon

yaoi hands. i like how diabolical this thing looks, it has wild eyes, a villain’s hairstyle and a nice way of walking that reminds you its kind of a bug but not really. those long arms that just whip around to slap you just add to it really when paired with its comparatively little legs. again our war games plays into how much i like this thing, since it was fast, cunning and powerful. quite alot for whats essentially the personification of the y2k bug.

9. globemon

red google daddy. fuck me this is the first appmon design i’d probably fuck. just look at him, sleek, tall, strong shiny. he moves in a very exaggerated fashion and is so laughably overpowered in concept that he can basically attack the entire earth with one move. i like the use of lasers and lights in his design and that he replaces most of the white and green from dogatchmon with timemon’s bright gold to look kind of regal yet commanding.

8. alphamon

best waifu. something about them hips man.... anyway, alphamon is probably op as shit for being able to rewind time and blast apart dexdorughoramon with one attack, as well as having a sword made of light and whatever the fuck an ouryuken is. its got a wide arsenal and pulls off a great black knight look, i like that its the leader of the royal knights who’s never actually there, just existing to control them if need be. x-evolution and cyber sleuth really helped endear me to alphamon, its so cool and smooth looking. 

7. hagurumon

the only child level on this list, hagurumon is adorable. its essentially thee gears sellotaped together with a crooked smile. it also has one eye thats covered by a circle and one eye with a spiky circle for variety. its just so cute, it fits exactly into what i find adorable, the way it moves, the way it smiles, the industrial look it has. it’s got a place in my heart as my favourite child level for just being unconventially adorable.

6. chaosdramon

considering it’s the evolution to another digimon on this list, it wins a spot by virtue of sharing a similar design, yet adapting it. its got eyes now and even though its black skin is actually cyber in some ways, looking some cool matrix shit, it makes it look more like a dragon/dinosaur wearing red digizoit armour. i do like how it has the same weapons as its prior stage, yet they do look noticeably different, i like the return to the classic dreadnought cannons that slowly snap forward and fire one colossal blast. the whole thing looks ready to go and kill. 

5. megadramon

arguably my favourite perfect level, megadramon has a classical design to me. its got that cyborg reptile thing going on that i love, its got a little tattoos, tattered wings, a metal helmet and those two missile launchers for hands. it looks ferocious and there’s enough going there to look at plus its one of the rarer instances where colours that clash a bit look kind of fitting for me. i’d like t imagine it curled up asleep sometime. 

4. lordknightmon

pink’s a good colour, knights are good. lordknightmon is therefore good. i love this thing as a character, someone who will do anything if the ends justify the means, so much untapped potential for conflict with the royal knights and with itself. its good villain, but also a food hero, plus its flashy and vain, which i find entertaining. i like the elegant design alot and the fact its pink. sexy. 

3. dukemon

i think everyone fell in love with dukemon the first time they saw it. it’s a timeless design, perfect uses of red and white. the weapons it has just look so good together, its body looks just right, its pretty much captivating in a way thats unique to the viewer yet always universal in that sense. i like its concept too, it tamed the digital hazard and instead used its power to protect the digital world as a holy knight instead of destroy it, even its personal justice seems to be that ones deeds determine your fate and that life is always precious. i also like that its a bit of a rebel among the royal knights once it starts thinking. be real, we’d all marry dukemon. 

2. metalseadramon

i like metal digimon, i like megaseadramon. combine the two and i’m signed up lads. in a way, i find this thing really cute, hard to explain, not gonna bother. i also really like how its nose is now a giant laser cannon because it must have one hell of a sneeze. honestly though this thing is so majestic looking, its got the hair, the gold and silver metal design, the wires and pipes, all of it slenderly put together on a sleek serpent of the seas, its so beautiful in a way, a design that just comes together perfectly.

anyone who follows me is not surprised at all that this is my favourite. i adore this thing. i love that its a combo of several perfect level digimon’s cyborg parts meshed together into one incredible machine of death and destruction. honestly i consider it the best designed digimon of all time. there’s so much going on but its not a clusterfuck, everything links together so well, you can really tell its machine digimon made to be the best of the best, taking so much that worked before and amplifying it. i like cyborgs and i like robots, so this thing hits all the notes for me while still trying to look like a monster, like a mechanical chimera that looks like it fits, like all the parts were meant to be put together to assemble this glorious machine. i love its wide variety of weapons and attacks, and that its essentially a digimon who runs on malice, that it petty much exists just to fuck up everything in sight. i’ll never forget the one analogman used at the end of digimon world 1 and i love the idea that it as the first ultimate, that because of this thing so many digimon rapidly began to change and try to reach its level of power. this thing definites the level its at, that all digimon going from perfect to ultimate should use this thing as a goal of sorts, to reach its sheer level of power. and its withstood the test of time, with so many digimon at the ultimate level being so strong in their own ways, this thing can still go toe to toe with the best of them. its a raw classic that just cant be beaten in my eyes, its always going to be my favourite really. i love it.
