So remember that text post I made a while back saying the origins of the haunted Toppat paintings, my version. Well, I finally made the comic of it! The spider was the fun part. I imagine they were Dusty's second partner in crime (next to Cloudface of course).

🎩~The Toppat Clan origin

First Toppat era (1920-1960):

The toppat clan started with the first 3 leaders. Dusty, CloudFace and Frank (TRNK)

Dusty (1877-1950): died of a brain problem and old age. In his past he worked as a casino owner and made money by cheating and swindling people. He carried a scepter with an emerald in it. He was arrested for several frauds and manipulations of people and games. He knew how to steal and convince people very well, all to have power over one or more people.

Cloudface (1885-1970) Retired and died of old age. Cloudface was a master of disguise and liked to fool people. He is very quiet and thoughtful about what he would steal and do. To escape from difficult situations, he would throw smoke bombs to make people faint, One moment you see him and then you can't see him anymore because of the cloud of smoke. He loved to sneak around and steal things. He was arrested for several robberies, false documents and break-ins.

Frank (T.R.N.K.) (1895-1960) Died in the middle of an invasion of the Toppat base. He was arrested for a crime he didn't commit because he was found at the scene of the crime, he had a wife and daughter. But since he was arrested, his wife didn't trust him anymore, he couldn't see his own family anymore. Since no one believed him anymore, he decided to join CloudFace and Dusty in their life of crime. "If it's a criminal they see... Then it's a criminal they will have"-Frank

At a time when the Toppat clan was desperate to find a new, trustworthy leader. They decided to try to revive one of the three leaders who was Frank. But with the combination of large-scale electricity and magic... The Toppat clan learned not to wake up dead people... He lost control of his own mind when they brought him back to life, he was no longer human. He couldn't think or form words, he just attacked everyone he saw. He had completely lost sanity, many toppats died that day.

How they met for the first time...

The three met in prison, Frank was imprisoned for crimes he didn't commit. He was cellmates with Cloudface and Dusty. They got to know each other and shared their life stories, becoming great friends and companions. The three made a plan to escape together, with the plan of committing more crimes after the escape. The three of them made a plan to escape together, with the intention of committing more crimes after the escape. After leaving prison and becoming outlaws, they became legendary criminals in many parts of the world, known as the "Triple Thief".

Dusty was the mastermind of the trio, he made the best plans and knew how to convince people, he always knew where and when to rob. Cloudface was the sneaky one of the group, the distraction, he always disguised himself as different people and identities, nobody really recognized him because of his beard. Frank was the strength of the trio, he carried a spiked club. After more than 20 or 30 years, they were arrested in an ambush by the government and taken to The Wall. It was almost like the end for them. But they realized that all the prisoners at The Wall knew and revered them, as if they were crime legends to be respected.

Seeing that this couldn't be the end, they came up with the greatest plan of all, they would free all the prisoners from The Wall, promising that they would all become better and stronger criminals, they would become a clan, a family of criminals where they would be respected by the world. The prisoners then made a big riot on The Wall, they started to destroy everything, all the prisoners fled, all following the Trio's orders to guide them. They started wearing hats in Dusty's honor, because the plan to break out of The Wall and form a clan was his. "The Toppat Clan" was created in 1920, and continues with its incredible crimes and thefts until today.

Hello hello! Favorite Toppat Leader headcanons? :)

Oooh, lemme think...

RHM and Sven both lack right hands of their own, but for completely different reasons. RHM feels that he is The Right Hand Man first and foremost (much of it is denial about losing Reginald), and as such having a right hand of his own doesn't feel right to him, even if he does think them a fit successor. Sven feels that no one is competent enough to be worth promoting to such a position.

The only reason Terrence ran for more than a year is because of his charisma. It wasn't until near the end of his run that more than just a couple of people connected the several recent misfortunes with his reckless behavior. The incident being a failed raid that resulted in Reginald, Terrence's Right Hand Man, being arrested and Terrence not noticing until after leaving.

The Airship era of Toppat leaders (from T.R.N.K. to present*) is notable for its incredibly brief leaderships, all of which have run for a maximum of 5 years. (*The present leader as of the end of CtM varies, as does their runtime as leader. However, all of the possible leaders except for Ellie have at least one timeline in which they lose leadership.)

The orbital station plan was originally drafted by Reginald in his free time during Wilford's era, with details being worked out during his own leadership.

Speaking of the orbital station plan, getting his Right Hand Man to agree to the idea was... a hassle. He liked life on the Airship just fine, and he HATES having his routine messed with. That said, he knew how important it was to Reginald, so he made sure the plan was followed through even with Reginald gone.

And now for some random statistics!

Most recent Toppat Leader order is Jaques, Dusty, Cloudface, Randy, Reynaldo, 3 unknown leaders after that, followed by T.R.N.K., Billy G., Wilford, Terrence, and then Reginald (+ whoever came after). However, these are not the only leaders; there are multiple leaders from before Jaques' era, indicated by the brief glimpses we get of the Toppat Gallery showing some black and white portraits.

Dusty is the second longest-running leader, being appointed at a fresh 27 years old and running until he died at 109 years old (running for 82 years total). The longest-running leader is Jaques, who ran for 214 years before being trapped in a painting portal for the rest of eternity.

The record for shortest leadership goes to T.R.N.K., who only ran for a mere 4 days before turning on the scientists who revived him. (Second shortest goes to Terrence, who ran for just under 2 years.)

The youngest leader is Reginald, first becoming leader at only 21 years old (which is the youngest a Toppat can become leader, as enforced by the early Toppat leaders). Yes, this has impacted his mental state.

Reginald ran the Toppat Clan for about 2-3 years before Henry showed up. Yes, this does mean that as of ItA Reginald is only 24 (probably ~26 by CtM. There is not a single person who has met him after his being appointed leader who HASN'T been surprised to learn how young he is.

relationships between toppat leaders and their right hand man because I can (AND THEIR LORE I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE THEM WHOOPS)

Dusty — Cloudface is his right hand man! The two are childhood friends and has a crush on each other since forever, though neither ever confessed to the other,,until it's too late

Cloudface — Reynaldo is his right hand man. These two just had your normal boss-assistant dynamic actually. But due to Cloudface not wanting to shave his face at all (totally not cause it's a request from his dead friend) the clan got tired of trying to understand him so Reynaldo and some other elites overthrew him.

Reynaldo — Jaques is his right hand man. Again just another boss-assistant relationship, nothing special. But Jaques does have a tad bit crush on Rey

Jaques — [REDACTED] is his right hand lady, she may had some attempts on trying to be with Jaques but the man himself isn't interested at all, those attempts are small tho so no one in the clan even knew (as long as both don't spill). The two started as good friends way back and stayed like that till Jaques' leadership, but it was good while it lasted because one day Jaques fucked up a spell then he and her were trapped in paintings. [REDACTED]'s painting was never to be found.

TRNK — due to none of the elites wanting to take a step up, some scientists in the clan came up with the idea to bring back their best leader; Dusty. After digging up the body and stealing some materials and technology, they tried to bring Dusty back to life, tho that project ended so badly...,. The end result ended up being mutated and nothing like how they pictured, but with desperation, they made TRNK the leader. Due to this TRNK never had a right hand man and everything was a one man job for him, but being a failed science experiment and slightly mindless walking corpse, one day he got out of control and dangered the clan, luckily a man was brave enough to kill him, aka Billy G

Billy G — thanks to being able to kill the monster, he was voted to be the next leader. Randy is his right hand man! Billy and Randy has this sort of father-son relationship, but Randy never even want to claim Billy is their father figure. Billy G was a good leader, taking some of Reynaldo's tactics leads him to being a bit strict, which is something Randy hates. One day Randy was influenced by a good friend of theirs and had the motivation to kill Billy G, and they did. By poisoning.

Randy Radman — no right hand man, this is a one man job!! After successful killing Billy G they took the throne immediately and became the leader, some members mostly young ones were supporting Randy's motivation for the clan, tho most elites are against it. There were multiple attempts of the elites trying to kill them but that had been failed to many times, some of the ones who failed had been executed. It was a good life being the party era of the clan, till they got the clan into bankruptcy, this got to the attention of a member, Mr. Wilford, and motivated him to go against Randy. Soon enough he did and the clan agreed then Randy ran away.

Sir Wilford IV — Dei Harrisson is his right hand man. The two were the elites who went against Randy and seen as the strongest out of all. A similar situation with Jaques and his right hand lady, Dei has a huge crush on Wilford but the leader is straight as a pole,,ain't gon work buddy. The two are a great duo, both great at combat, Wilford's great strategies, and Dei's weapons. Sir Wilford being the 2 most feared leader in the clan's history got a bit to a certain member's head, Terrence Suave. Terrence who's hungry for Sir Wilford's position planned an assassination on the leader and guess what, he succeed. During all this Dei was also a victim by Terrence but they both made a deal, then so Terrence became the leader.

Terrence Suave — Reginald Copperbottom is his right hand man, though Terrence tend to do things on his own so he makes Reg do the stupidest things, like cleaning the weapons or giving a tour for a new member. Reginald hates Terrence with all his body. Terrence's raids, the way he treats the clan, everything about him, but Reg doesn't have the courage to go against Terrence himself,,,,BUT THAT CHANGED WHEN HE TEAMED UP WITH AN ELITE MEMBER AND A NEWBIE AND THE TRIO KILLED TERENCE HAHSJSHD (I'll explain this in detail one day I promise)

Reginald Copperbottom — you know the drill,,,,,,,. I'll just type out the hcs;

Was dating RHM back in Terrence's era, been married for 5 years aka how long Reginald has been a leader

Idk if you're still doing anything with that pony au, but I think Ellie being an earth pony and still having the force is an incredibly funny concept. Like, someone pisses her off and she just yeets them across the room without even touching them, and everyone's just kinda like "YOU???? CAN USE MAGIC????? WHAT?!?!?!" either that or they blame it on Henry and he's just like "??????"

and ellie?? technically, i think her being a unicorn with crazy magic powers (and henry as the confuzzled earth pony with newfound timelining magic) does work the best for this crossover
