drawings from paleo expedition to dagestan, done right on the trip. sometimes messy when it was cold and rainy, but i won't correct it. i think it's cool to leave it just the way it was done, and not retouch it after. there will be more drawings later, but those will be done from home

had an interview for a plant job in Nevada and afterwards the interviewer emailed me a list of all the known plants there confirmed by the organization and I keep considering responding with ‘Wow, and all these plants are running casinos you say?’ and every time I restrain myself

#i probably could do it because the interview went very well and we just talked plants for an hour #he read me so well dude at one point he asked me what my favorite basal angiosperm was #and I was like I’m gonna be honest it’s gotta be that one singular shrub found only on an island off the coast of Australia #that has no vessels only trachieds for moving water around like it’s some kind of pine tree #breaking news: local shrub must push water through a bunch of tiny tubes instead of a mix of tiny and large tubes. imagine doing this #i looked it up and it’s Amborella. that’s the plant in question

#photo diary #image 1 & 2 - of course these are just cloud images. But a cool pattern of them :0 #3 - another word count of game writing... aargh... Still debating about like allowing other people into the game discord or how early #in the process one should do that.. but social things are just so difficult for me lol.. I shall always suffer for my lack of networking an #self promotion skills. 4 - I was forced to get a new phone a few months ago because my beloved phone of like 10 years finally #broke too much. and I always like to go through the emojis and make a little memo with all my favorites. yaay little pictures of things.#5 - I FINALLY finished all the dictionary entries for the game (which has a little dictionary feature in the player's journal to note #any specific terms and keep track of them (like what 'jhevona' or 'avirre'thel' means. or to remember that the world is called Nanyevimi #and the country they're in is Asen. etc. etc.)). There are 75 defined terms so far and it took me a while to do so out of curiosity I put #all the text into a wordcounter thing and lol.. 8000 words isnt that much I guess but the 30 minute reading time is funny to me. 30 minutes #for my little tiny dictionary panel in my quaint little casual visual novel which is not even lore heavy at all. hee hee (though that's mor #like a minute here and there since obv people are not unlocking every term all at once. you complete the dictionary as you talk to people #and hear them mention new concepts over time.).. ANYWAY..#6 - a very soft and beautiful stuffed animal that I did not buy but wanted to at least document their charm.#7 - stimky boye waiting in front of his favorite straw meowring screaming for someone to play with him (he likes to chase the #straw around). 8 - matcha bubble tea my beloved. 9 & 10 & 11 - some cool flowers I saw. also featuring one of my favorites (columbines!)#Anyhow.. as mentioned in the other photo diary post.. I have just been packing and writing mostly.. The evil summer is coming of course #which me and my health issues always dread. Good news though is I finally got my passport in the mail! >:3 huzzah. Now I just need to find #some fellow aromantic asexual living outside the US willing to take one for the team and fake a marriage with me so I can get the #hell out of the country UwU (<joking) (...mostly... as in - definitely NOT my main goal. but if a viable opportunity presented itself I #would of course give it consideration lol). I know that's already highly regulated but I wonder if it's something that will become even mor #locked down as people hunt for any opportunity to flee. People are out here searching for any loophole. Frantically researching their #entire family tree seeing if there's any chance for a citizenship by descent in whatever place will take them. etc. etc. lol #So I wonder if such marriages are a thing that will come up more often. hmm.. ANYWAY..#I have almost all of my stuff packed even though I don't move until another 1-2 months. But that's the point is to have it all sorted early #in the last remaining scraps of ''cooler'' weather so that then I can just relax up until then. I'm going to try doing another scrapbook #/sketchbook this summer as a Mood Boosting effort. Just to find little things to help with the situational political existential dread and #climate woes. So on days it's too hot to function I can just glue little things to pages and doodle lol.. hopefully.. slowly getting things #off my to do list.. Bella grew up into an adult (a thirteen-year-old, but it's all same-same in RimWorld), and she has the "hulk" body type, which I admit jumpscared me a little. Still, I look forward to drawing a pigskin Amazonian warrior wearing fancy gowns and using table manners worthy of a princess.

Got a cheap 6ft battery lights for my mini tree- it's definitely not 6ft 😒, think I'll get one more and then wait for things to go on sale in prep for next year. But I'm really stoked to have some decor up this year 🥹 First time while living on my own so it's been 9yrs

I think I've had a mental block on celebrating at home since losing both my granparents in early 2016. On top of my personal loss that year it was a big national "WTF" is the world when November hit. Then, I was moving nearly yearly until this past year. And while my current living conditions are a lot to be desired at this point in my career- I'm grateful to at least have a great career, a great team, and wonderful found family supporting me.

I have some ornaments I wanna put up but gonna wait cause a friend of mine isn't going home for Christmas and I offered to have her come over and "trim" my tiny tree with me and make chili and have cocoa.

No idea if we'll actually find the time in our schedules for that prior to the day, but still a good goal to have.

In the town I'm hopefully moving to I was worried there wouldn't be a coffee shop (I have a crippling caffeine addiction) but there IS and it's INSIDE THE BOOKSHOP!!!!!!! This is going to be wonderful

#its technically a village tbh but i feel silly saying 'the village im moving to'#but its def not a city so i go with town #but anyway. the tiny village im moving to doesnt have much #but its such a cute little place #ill be living in the farmlands about 15 minutes outside of the actual town #but in the actual town theres the aforementioned bookshop+cafe whoch im so excited to visit #as well as a community garden. forest preserve. library. an organization that hosts drag brunches which was very surprising to me #considering its literally a village #but there are harris/walz signs around and rainbow flags in the bookshop windows and drag brunches so it seems great #and theres a culvers. and a Qdoba 50 minutes away. and within comfortable driving distance of several more major cities #what else do you need tbh #im breathing much easier knowing that ill be getting out #my mom showed me the 'depression spiral' once which are the three things that make the deoression keep going #and i only remember one which is environment #my environment has been making the depression spiral like a fucking whirlpool #but im about to get out. to a better environment. and i started therapy again. and im back on my mood stabilizers #things are looking up #i hesitate to say that bcuz i fear the universe will hear and strike me down #but maybe the ball is rolling uphill (starstruck odyssey my beloved)#im going to romanticize the fuck out of village life and you can count on that #wake up in the farmhouse. put on a cute sweater. go to the bookshop+cafe. then the library #make eye contact with a cute girl across the library or bookstore cafe. notice shes reading one of my fav books. she smiles #i walk ivef and introduce myself. we hit it off. spend all day talking. exchange numbers #cue a montage of cute dates. at ny fav tourist attraction. at her fav nature preserve #buying a christmas tree at the hallmark style christmas tree farm #we kiss under a gentle snow #anywho #i didnt anticipate writing that i was just possessed by the desire for a hallmark romance in the village #i tried to google the depression spiral but i cant find the graphic. its not relevant anymore it just bothers me that i cant remember #but im about to break the spiral! im gonna break it and im gonna be okay!!

the two-three days before i travel i always basically go on a hunger strike. ive gotten sick from food/food poisoning right before/while traveling to a destination too many times to risk it

#im okay for the record. ive been doing a lot better with my ed lately #but like.. last time i flew to nyc food poisoning hit me WHILE ON THE PLANE.#so i was in that tiny bathroom vomiting. and then AGAIN on the bus. i threw up into a big ziploc before i could get off #im not dealing with that shit again. id rather be a bit hungry and then eat once im there #tree talks
