Trump's response to the air disaster over the Potomac River which he indirectly contributed to is typical. He evades responsibility while spewing outright lies to distract attention.
Trump’s Racist Rants Conceal the Right’s Air Safety Failures
The number of air traffic controllers declined in each year of Trump’s first presidency. Then Trump plunged air traffic controllers (and other federal workers) into uncertainty during the 2018–19 government shutdown, which forced controllers to work without pay—a major blow to their already battered morale. That shutdown only ended, it should be remembered, when enough New York area controllers called in sick to ground flights on the East Coast. The Biden years saw a slow rebuild of controller ranks. But warning signs of a systemic crisis were growing. Training of new controllers was disrupted by the Covid pandemic, and staffing shortages continued. A spate of near-misses led the FAA to convene a unusual “safety summit” on March 23, 2023, to discuss solutions, and the office of Department of Transportation Inspector General Eric J. Soskin completed a 2023 audit that found that 20 of the FAA most critical facilities 26 (77 percent) were below the 85 percent minimum staffing levels and supervisors were mandating overtime and six-day work weeks to cover staff shortages. Biden’s FAA hired 1,811 controllers in 2024, and his 2025 budget sought funding to hire 2,000 more. Trump’s return to the presidency has already been a setback for air safety. He fired DOT Inspector General Soskin, who illuminated the extent of the FAA’s staffing problems. Trump’s White House alter ego Elon Musk succeeded in driving Biden’s FAA administrator, Mike Whitaker, from office even before Trump was sworn in, because Whitaker’s FAA had the temerity to fine SpaceX for safety violations. Musk even went so far as to claim that “humanity will forever be confined to Earth unless there is radical reform at the FAA!” That Trump’s FAA intends radical changes seems clear. Astonishingly, his letter encouraging federal workers to resign their positions and find private sector jobs went to air traffic controllers despite the continued staffing crisis at the nation’s airports. [ ... ] Trump’s “deep state” conspiracy theories and obsession with DEI are doing far graver harm, reducing the right’s anti-government discourse to authoritarian theater and farce. Make no mistake, these recent events are a harbinger of what is to come. Trump’s effort to deflect attention to DEI should not avert our eyes from the larger collision that threatens the very functioning of our government unless we make a course correction.
If you can avoid flying during the next few years, please wait.
A reminder of the true DEI...

THANK you @onelastskip for that suggestion.............. might be a little late but.... here's why I think ESFP fits Elio to a T (and I can't wait to see how his shortcomings get explored especially in regards to functions...) (it delves with a few hcs, but addresses spring semester and stuff adressed in blank-house asks)
SO !!! ESFP (Se-Fi-Te-Ni) Elio right? Dominant Se makes a lot of sense for Elio. Se is all about getting sensory enjoyment out of life. He likes expressing himself through his physicality (and is good at it), sports in part but not only. He's known for participating in more than a few events thrown by the SGB (to the point of having a nickname because of his infamous way of filling out forms / to the point deja said the wall climbing event was for him). Elio is very open to new situations and quick to say yes if invited, an on-the-whim kind of guy and liking it that way. He can come off as a showoff (cue him destroying everyone in bar holding spring festival game and/or challenging high confidence mcs) superficial ("I didn't know people could argue so much about a prize" / he feels like he has to justify himself and tells Deja he has layers when confronted about his music tastes) or comes off as childish (quick to guilttrip if he likes mc enough, pouts) which are traits Se doms are likely to be labeled as. Misuse of Se might include relying too much on immediate feedback and / or external stimulation for satisfaction, being careless with decisions or relationships (which is what I'm working on for Elilo (Elio/Lorelei)) It can also mean having no focus or defined goals (lack / misuse of Ni) which lead to insecurity (which i could see being explored on the meager chance Elio is the breakup route and he goes back home)
I believe Ni (intuitive connections, reflection on meaning and implications, generating visions of the future...) grip in Elio shows up in how clingy he is, probably as a consequence of some form of paranoia (misuse of Ni) (Bottom stack functions tend to be used as defense mechanisms) (Ni grip might come off as the person acting out of character, in here, him being so suddenly hit by a lack of confidence, and needing to be reassured through that clinginess) The best guess I can do right now is he has issues around emotional permanence, but it's a shot in the dark. Well, at least Ni grip in Se doms can show up as looking for meaning and/or purpose but in the wrong places.
Elio is shown as someone that will avoid confrontation and is described as one who holds grievances. There's failure, I feel, from his part to resolve negative feelings which push him to suppress. It looks like a case of Fi failing him. Despite that he's mostly empathetic, sensitive and displays emotional intelligence (has signs of healthy Fi expression) (he's good at calming down a situation where tension arises, cue mc and percy not getting along - and immediatly vouching for him, or easing down the discussion if mc calls him and percy out for getting distracted in the study room event).
Tertiary Te (imposes order and is about efficient behavior, pushes to make effective decisions based on data) loop is what happens when there's Auxiliary Fi resistance. Because Fi is the need for moral integrity and self acceptance, immature ExFPs can use Te to distance from it. It can show up as burying negative feelings under coarse expressions of power (like Elio did in the breakup!percy comic I made), self-image problems or insecurity (which Elio display). The grievance thing makes me think Elio might show to be quite vindictive which is another sign of Te loop. I personally hc he's the possessive LI, which would align with the fact being territorial / domineering is a common unhealthy tertiary Te trait.
Funnily I think his reading of Reynah can both be read as an expression healthy Fi yet a Te loop tendency. It's both him understanding where people could not like her (getting her flaws, her shortcomings) but it's also him believing critical judgement to be objective. There's the expectation in what he says for Reynah to meet him on his ground (for her to talk) the way Deja does, when that's not necessarily how getting closer to Reynah has to go.
Next I'll make both Percy and Rhys' type analysis since they're both ISTP

X-MEN #12 Review
Tumblr media
Alien bounty hunters came for Cyclops last issue. We find out why and wrap that up, learn more about Alpha Flight, and Corsair continues to be a useless motherfucker. I suspect this issue and the last were killing time until X-Manhunt next issue - as both are quite skippable. Let's talk about why and discuss the future.
Alpha Flight were indeed jailed during Fall of X, for supporting the mutant members of the team and mutants in general by subverting the sentinel/camps from the inside. Interesting that they're still prisoners and the team is basically a Thunderbolts program. I would have thought that ORCHIS and their laws would be seen in a different light after they tried to extinguish all life on the planet. Maybe they are, but no pardons for Alpha Flight. Shaman is a conscientious objector to this bullshit, and good for him.
Tumblr media
Heather is still in a coma so their handler, Agent Arsenault, is the new Vindicator. Nobody respects her though. It's nice to get a follow up on their bittersweet ending in Fall of X, but this book has enough characters that aren't getting much attention. Having Alpha Flight take up half the issue is a choice. I haven't forgotten that Mac joined ORCHIS briefly either.
Tumblr media
On to the X-Men! They're in deep shit, with the bounty hunters, aided by Xanto Starblood, having prepared for Cyke, Magik and Juggernaut well enough to neutralize them. He remembers his time teaching at the Hellfire School run by those infuriating child billionaires, especially Quentin and Idie. Dude has really good intelligence on the team, though I guess he'd just have to check Earth media. They've been acting publicly. Quentin and Idie never find out he's here and thus don't comment on him or anything from Wolverine and the X-Men. He's a war criminal, if I remember correctly, but he doesn't seem especially dangerous here.
Tumblr media
Turns out they want Scott for the obvious reason - as a way to manipulate Phoenix. I'm not giving myself points for calling it, what else could it be? Interesting phrasing by Starblood here, that Scott is 'one of the few [Earthers] with Galactic importance.' Not sure how true it is, as Earth seems to produce a lot of people who are galactically important. Nova, Star Lord, Adam Warlock, Carol Danvers, Hulkling and Wiccan, the FF, most Avengers and X-Men. Scott is in a unique position as the concubine of a God, but I'm skeptical how well thought out this plan is. Sounds like a good way to get incinerated or upgrade a Phoenix problem to a Dark Phoenix problem. I suppose Thanos rules the galaxy, so dumb ideas reign.
Tumblr media
These idiots don't get to enjoy the fruits of their plan for very long though, as they didn't plan for Canadians. Temper has been holding back to avoid burning the rest of the team, but Vindicator and Guardian can bring finesse to that strategy. They can manipulate electromagnetic fields, apparently. I know someone else who used to be able to do that, but for reasons he's on the sidelines and Alpha Flight save the day.
Feels like hanging a lampshade on it, which irks me. 'Can we get Magneto for dinner?' 'We already have Alpha Flight at home.'
Tumblr media
The uber capable bounty hunters of last issue are gone. In their place are passive and ignorant chumps that are easily defeated. The Alphans take out one heart chamber, which I assume is vital to ship functions. I zoned out a lot in the Brood saga. Storm would know. Captain Fucko isn't bothered, because there's a second heart chamber. I wonder what happens next.
Tumblr media
Extreme Zoologist sounds pretty cool, like a space Steve Irwin or something. I remember Starblood being very proud of his doctorates in Xenobiology, Xenozoology etc. It doesn't really matter, he's a smarmy fuck who's tempting fate by pointing out the single point of failure for the space whale they're on. Psylocke is right where she needs to be to cause that failure and it's not guarded at all. Not a lot of tension here. The good guys identify what they need to do and just do it without difficulty or resistance.
Tumblr media
Heart chambers destroyed, prisoners easily retrieved by Magik, Acanti crashes into the snow. Ilyana even has time to throw up a shaka and call them losers (which I love.) Problem solved! A little too easily, but it's the price we pay for 4 intro pages of Alpha Flight and their team dynamics. They weren't narratively necessary, and interestingly the letters page has Brevoort say Mackay really wanted to get Alpha Flight into the book but he said no way. As much as anything Tom Brevoort has to say is worth taking at face value, it's pretty strange.
This was a choice, and we know more about what Alpha Flight wants than we do for Glob, Ben Liu, Xorn, Jennifer Starkey, and Magneto (unless you've read the Infinity Comics and that Avengers issue.) This wide focus at the expense of main characters is a problem several books in From The Ashes have, so I have to assume that editorial wants this. Writers only have so much latitude (though that changes depending on who's in charge) and Mackay/Simone have to work around two crossover events within the first 13 issues. I'll come back to this.
Tumblr media
As is standard for anyone not from Earth, they think it's a shithole. It's a shithole with a lot of superpowered individuals, though, as Starblood is faced with when crawling out of the wreckage. Poor space whale. Nice to see heroes side by side (and Guardian) without a single punch thrown at each other. Game over for this bozo, crisis averted. The implication is that this crew of dozens came to Earth at someone else's behest to capture Scott to get at Jean. They failed, of course, but the Phoenix is considered an existential crisis by most space empires, especially the Shi'Ar. I wonder if this will be an ongoing thing. Something for Scott and Jean to talk about, and that's 3 times in 11 issues The Phoenix has been mentioned. It's certainly set up, as so many things are, so as ever we'll see where it goes.
Tumblr media
Scott is grateful the drama didn't reach Merle, which definitely tracks. Corsair the useless gets to collect the bounty on the bounty hunters, which is probably a lot of money. Yay for him, I guess. He didn't help even a little bit, I'd even say he was a hindrance. It's not clear whether he's sticking around, but it's not likely. I think it would be very interesting to have Scott's bio dad around when having it out with his fallen adopted father. Cyke thanks Mac and offers to break them out but he refuses.
Oh so now Scott's interested in jailbreaks? What if they have a space weapon? Just as I'm thinking how odd it is that so many people want to stay in prison, Scott gets the news that Xavier has broken out. The X-Men have been dealing with back to back problems since Graymalkin. First the O*N*E visit and then this. Last issue he referred to that event as 'earlier' which suggests it's the same day. That can't be right, can it? Chuck refuses a rescue then breaks himself out <24 hours later. I've never heard anyone use 'earlier' for anything but the same 24 hour period, at least not without a qualifier. I guess it doesn't matter.
Would Scott actually care about that? He was pretty emphatic about not allowing him to be freed on the grounds that his freedom reduces everyone else's. The solicit says the X-Men will fight Storm over Xavier, which sounds silly but I put zero faith in solicits these days. I guess we'll find out what the deal is in the, *sigh* second crossover event in what, 8 months? Less? NYX and X-Force are getting cancelled after issue #10, and it wouldn't surprise me if X-Factor and Phoenix followed. Phoenix is confirmed for issue #11, but the scattershot approach to publishing is bearing fruit. I stopped caring about X-Force (though I love the characters) but NYX has been pretty good. Plenty of potential and trying something new, but 10 issues is not a lot of space to build something sustainable especially when there's 17 other X-books on the shelf. 10 came out last Wednesday alone.
Those books aren't this book, but it's the same hand at the wheel and the lack of faith in books/creators makes me concerned for this one. X-Men has had some great issues but it's also had issues you could skip without missing anything, like this and the last issue. That many of the characters are underdeveloped in favour of seeding new threats each issue and navigating events is a problem for me. If those characters aren't really being used, why are they there? We'll only be able to truly judge in retrospect, but after Raid on Graymalkin's deflating resolution it bodes poorly for X-Manhunt. I know what I want out of the event, and I'm being very cautious with my expectations. I'm sure we'll see friends punching each other, but I'm not holding out for character development or earnest engagement with the recent past. That's fine, I guess. I just prefer a little more ambition from my X-books.

Motivational Speaking
The things you focus on will grow.
If you are a Manager and you need to address a large group of employees and 10% are low performers, 10% are extraordinary and the remaining 80% of employees are somewhere in the range of “adequate to pretty good,” the goal is neither to praise the high performers nor to scold the low performers. You can do those 1:1 with the employees who need to hear your mind. Your goal (for the duration of the meeting) is to address the 80% of your organization that is somewhere in the middle. These are the people you need to motivate to go out there and be capable employees.
It’s not about motivating your superstars: they are already motivated.
If you focus too much on the “people who gave 120 percent” it embarrasses your superstars (who are on the edge of burnout most likely and wondering how long 120% is going to be the new normal) and makes everyone else feel that praise is unattainable.
It’s not about scolding your low performers.
Scolding seldom motivates someone to want to do better: at best it assigns consequences for their failures that they will want to avoid. If they knew how to succeed, they would probably already be doing that. Few people really are intrinsically lazy freeloaders or terrible people. Most employees with performance issues have barriers such as lack of training, personal life distractions, lack of clear goals, lack of functional workflows, meaningful feedback about their work that can be acted on, understanding of organizational culture & mores, etc. Sometimes it helps them to know that someone is watching and cares what they do, but generally it is better for morale if the someone watching is truly trying to help them succeed, not looking for an excuse to punish, shame or fire them.
If you focus on scolding the low performers, the Adequate 80%  will worry you are talking about them and fret that Management is going to micromanage them, doesn’t appreciate what they do, is always demanding too much work for too little time/pay. Morale goes down as paranoia about the surveillance culture and punitive/disciplinary measures are threatened. If you are scolding everyone—even your Adequate and Great people, it creates a pervasive sense that there are systemic problems and everyone is a target. The problem will seem to be a lot larger because you were so upset about it you felt that everyone needed a good talking to about it. Everyone will wonder “is the Manager talking about me?”
Focus on this:
Focus on telling your Adequate 80% that you have their back, that you are paying attention, that you will listen to their needs and remove obstacles and set reasonable priorities, fight for the resources they need. Tell them how proud you are of their commitment to their customers and projects. Tell them that they do great work and you want them to keep doing it.  Ask them to praise and thank each other if possible, because people get attached to teams they work with habitually when they get recognition for good effort from their teams. Put your effort into telling people what kind of a team they aspire to be and help them get there.
People who gave 95-100% deserve recognition for showing up and getting the assigned work done without looking for glory or drama. You want them to come in to work tomorrow because replacing them is hard. Help them encourage each other to stay and keep doing the good work. You want them to keep the main part of the bell curve full, and you want the fullest part of that bell curve in a solidly effective place, not falling back toward your low performers just barely over the adequate line.
And then go deal with your disciplinary problems firmly but quietly. Discipline is loud enough without making a fuss over it.

A lot of mini-bots (and quite a few other bots) have what might be considered neurodivergent traits (or have been confirmed as such), and I wonder if certain frame types or classes --or Cybertronians in general-- might have physically type-specific processor structures which allow for greater diversity of thought, and if some frame types or spark types might be more or less likely to have or develop neurodivergent traits
We know the Quintessons fucked with the Well of All Sparks in the Aligned Continuity which had unknown effects, and in IDW 1 given the spark as the core of a person's individual spirit (for lack of any better phrasing), it would make sense for Cybertronian sparks to imbue individual personality etc. while the processors are physical hardware with software flexibility to permit and adapt to those unique aspects of self
For example, in the continuities where spark development influences protoform development and therefore what type of frame a bot might ultimately have, it is still simultaneously possible to alter a frame to some degree with armour changes, mass manipulation, etc. (and in most continuities, alt-modes can be altered as well, to at least some degree within the range of someone's core specs)
But the processor and spark are the two things that generally (although we have seen some exceptions to this) cannot be physically altered without incurring significant damage-- Making them some of the few constant components in a species designed to physically change
Sparks have significant individual variation in terms of the personality etc. that evolves from each unique spark, so perhaps processors have some physical elements designed to best accommodate a certain frame type, while also allowing for individual experiences and perception etc. to form unique thought pathways for each individual -- This would allow for any Quintesson or Functionism-related frame alterations or requirements, while also still enabling a spark to produce a unique person as it forms and as experiences accumulate
Sort of like genetics vs epigenetics in human beings; Some things are physical and structural, but some things are informed by environment, experience, etc.
It's interesting that we do seem to see a lot of mini-bots specifically who might fall into a neurodivergent category or exhibit behaviours or thought process that might reasonably fall under the category, but of course it's not universal so there is still greater variation
Although characterisation varies from series to series, here's a couple examples:
Cliffjumper tends to have impulse control problems that are sometimes similar to ADHD impulse control problems, and he sometimes has difficulty prioritising or hyperfixates on one aspect of a situation, leading him to reach the wrong conclusion or focusing on the slightly wrong thing; He also struggles to manage frustration. This could all be related to something similar to executive dysfunction, as it commonly manifests in humans with ADHD.
Bumblebee seems to be conflict-avoidant to some degree in most continuities, and aside from that being part of his friendly nature and kind disposition, it might also hint at something similar to rejection sensitive dysphoria, or a greater sensitivity and emotional response to perceived interpersonal conflict or perceived failure. Some versions of Bumblebee have particularly struggled when faced with high stakes/high risk of failure scenarios, and he has a tendency to internalise blame, directing it towards himself even when a failure is not necessarily his fault or even truly a failed mission. This is often comorbid with Autism and ADHD in humans, but it can also exist on its own.
It's not just mini-bots; Misfire canonically has ADHD in IDW 1, Geomotus in IDW 2 is Autistic and his neurodivergency is even highlighted by other characters, and so on.
So all of this (and how it might work) varies from continuity to continuity, but I just like thinking about how neurodivergent bots do exist, and how that happens and how it manifests and how it is perceived by others and by society at large is interesting
In IDW 2, neurodivergency seems to be viewed in a more understanding and positive light. But in IDW 1, neurodivergency may be viewed in a more ableist way under the Functionist system, and in the Aligned Continuity, perhaps neurodivergency is seen as a potential indication of Quintesson alteration of the Well or of the individual themselves (this would depend on a bot's age).
We don't have too many details on Cybertronian medicine in general, but it's interesting to think about!
It's 8 AM I'm gonna go have a tea now lol

By the way - while I've personally argued that it isn't necessarily problematic that teenage girls who are learning about the disorder for the first time were portrayed using an outdated term for DID - it is not justification for viewers to also use it.
Of course, if you're also a person discovering it for the first time, it's okay if you didn't know. For your information, the vocabulary of "split personality" is long outdated and an inaccurate description of dissociative identity disorder. Please use the word "alter" or, in cases where the alter has named themselves or been named (as Mortis has been by Mutsumi), their name. Both the description of alter and her name are accurate to describe her.
As another user has pointed out, the Japanese dialogue actually did use an outdated term, so this is not a failure of the translation. Of course, as it stands, we don't know whether the writers made a mistake or purposefully made their characters seem ignorant, but viewers with DID have so far found the portrayal of the disorder otherwise accurate.
I personally have a problem with corporate entities, people organising Wikis, people organising events, and the like, using this wrong vocabulary. If you're posting in any sort of official manner, or with the express purpose of reaching a lot of people, you have a responsibility to convey accurate information - and to avoid misinformation.
Misinformation? / Why does this matter?
Dissociative identity disorder is a largely misrepresented disorder, which the average person misunderstands. Names such as "split personality disorder" and "multiple personality disorder" were phased out because they misrepresented the disorder.
-> "Split personality" is generally associated to the misunderstanding that there is an "original" and a "split". This is inaccurate to the way the disorder functions, in which there is not one "original" but instead a dissociated state of being from the get go. Moreover, some people with the disorder have expressed discomfort at the comparison with the movie named Split, which for all of its cinematic qualities, is often cited for having caused worldwide damage to the image of the disorder.
-> "Multiple personality disorder" - the main reason for this change is, to my understanding, the fact that DID is a dissociative disorder first and foremost, and is definitely not a personality disorder. Personality disorders are different.
Dissociation is at the heart of the disorder, and therefore the previous names were mistaken and not merely synonyms. Unless you're specifically publishing something in relation to archiving, there is no reason for you to continue using them.
Why you should care: DID is a disorder understood to be caused by repeated abuse in childhood. Despite that, people with the disorder have a long history of being portrayed as perpetrators of abuse instead of the victims (or survivors) they actually are. This is a likely cause of further abuse to the person with the disorder being villainized. Furthermore, DID continues to be misunderstood by therapists and medical professionals themselves: this is the cause of delayed diagnosis and, you guessed it, further abuse (if you're not aware, psychophobia and medical abuse are very real and harmful).
So yes, this is a sensitive topic.
But in case that matters more to you, using wrong vocabulary in your Twitter post makes your company look like it's being run by ignorant idiots who can't spare 2 seconds to look up the words they're using.

Baneful Magic
Blows dust off magic parts of blog.
Right! I was talking to friend today, and they had just done a mild baneful spell. Classic "return to sender," nothing I would even consider all that dark. (If you saw my old blog, yanno what I mean.)
Thing is, the intended "sender" was lashing out their generational trauma...and the spell returned the shit to the source. Namely, the intended target's abusive mother.
Personally, I think that's fucking hilarious, and applauded said friend for constructing a spell that managed to nuke the toxicity at the source.
Friend was ambivalent. They have avoided baneful magic for fears of fucking someone up by accident, and were worried this was their fear coming to pass.
But here's the thing (as I said to them):
Magic is not a gun. You can't throw a fireball or a lightning bolt. I can hex or jinx someone or even just slap them outright with something nasty. And sometimes that even works.
But at the end of the day, magic is a Rube Goldberg probability matrix. You're aligning things, which align other things, which hopefully sets off an avalanche.
If you're too specific, you're probs just gonna fizzle. You can't set off an avalanche by kicking a big boulder unless it's already teetering by luck (or by careful digging.) If you're too broad, you might also fizzle cause you're sorta just shouting into the void.
So if you're aiming properly, and setting intentions properly, and designing the spell to maximize potential function, then it's not a gun. It's a bear trap keyed to a specific person or set of conditions.
And your target kinda has to walk into the damn bear trap.
Knowing where they walk, how they walk, where to put the trap, and how to best set the trap can all make things go off better.
And yet.
Sometimes they have shields for just this sorta thing. Sometimes you aimed wrong, misread the situation, were over broad or over focused. Sometimes you just had an off day.
But at the end of the day, sometimes baneful magic doesn't fucking work cause the target stops meeting or never met the spell conditions.
And sometimes you do everything right, and it turns out someone else met the spell conditions cause they were the actual problem.
That's a win. If you're aiming at the wrong person, but built the spell well enough to hit the right person anyway, you are not a failure.
You're hot shit. Well done. Take a victory lap.
Point being, if you huck a curse and someone close to the target gets hit, check your parameters. If your parameters aimed the spell at the source of the problem, you now know something important about your target (namely not to bother cause they're already getting punched) and something about the person you hit (they are likely The Problem.)
If you wanted to hit that specific person, then rewrite, tighten up, and recast.
Anywho, just my 2 cents.

hi this is just my very long brainrot + highlights + quotes i cannot get over after watching the most recent fernando interview (rambles below the cut, read at your own discretion)
When I say high performance what do you think of? “Delivering higher than expectations and having that extra something on everything you do.”
It’s unlimited for him. He’s been in this mindset for all his life and he probably won’t stop functioning at this level of “pure motivation”. It’s a way of life
His quiet amusement when they bring up him starting karting at THREE years old
“And I think the race was 15 laps and I did two of them. But they told me that I won the race so I was happy after all and yeah, that’s how it started.”
Humble origins? “I don’t know how I can be that competitive in everything I do because my family in general are not at all competitive.”
Fernando knew how to hold a grudge (!) “I could maybe not talk to them for one full day if I was not winning [at cards]” etc.
The moment when it really clicked that he HAD to win was as a defending champion (coming back to the Spanish championship in ‘97 after winning the Karting WC in ‘96)
“When I have this pressure I try to calm myself”
He deals with the expectations by knowing everything about what he’s going into.
EVERYTHING.
Asks about strategy like 5 times, prepares every contingency plan etc.
This applies to his daily life and I quote “When I’m at home relaxing [...] or there is a tennis match or whatever, I treat that tennis match like a Formula One Grand Prix. So I have to know everything about with who I will play with.” Literally all about the hyperfine control.
“If he’s too strong maybe I skip that day at the tennis because I hate losing.” I love him so much.
What is your relationship like with self-doubt? shrugs, smirks “Not much.” THE CHARISMA oh god.,,,?????
ALSO, FERNANDO ALONSOS THINKING FACE (see this excellent post)
also also this seems a good place to add his like totally random head scratches and fidgets and most adorable face scrunches. such a cutie patootie energy ball.
This man avoids self-doubt by just TOTALLY avoiding the things he’s bad at?????
“I’m doing what I know that I can do and on that specific thing, I don’t have much self-doubt or I don’t have many problems.”
He never thought he was slower than Michael Schumacher
“a kamikaze approach to Formula One and to the start of my career”
He loves Dakar so much and it’s so evident hehehee. He can find fulfilment here I think, being “two weeks in the middle of nothing on a tent”.
How does comparison work for you then? “I don’t know.”
He wants to spend more time with his family (!!) It’s a life he “wants to live in the next 40 or 50 years”.
Media attention/paparazzi? He’s more bothered by it than his parents and he really really values his privacy
On his first race in F1 in 2005, he called his father and his father said “Try to enjoy because maybe it’s your last race.” His family is just so content with anything that could happen, even the possibility of quote-unquote failure. Everything is just a gift.
He views F1 as more “selfish, more glamorous but also fake in another way”. F1 circus.
“I’m taking care a bit more of fans and TV and these kind of things because I understand the importance of it.” aka justifying your TikTok addiction,,,....???
I didn’t take one moment to enjoy my career because I was too focused on winning? without hesitation “Same!!!” (I regret that, I regret that)
“Celebrating every weekend is part of my thing now” It’s good imo that he took a step back and learnt to enjoy more his little successes :”))
Did I mention he’s so so detail-oriented?
“executing the race as a robot” so many fic ideas here lol “no emotion. And just there is only one way to see the chequered flag faster than any other possibility.”
“That’s the beauty of the sport, that even if you want to do something with no emotion, everything comes alive in certain moments of the race.”
He knows his stats :0
He says “bwoah” or “mwoah” a surprising number of times for someone who is not Kimi
His life is basically built around confidence and discipline and this also translates to how he deals with disappointment and pain
Sometimes he can’t digest losing the races/not podiuming for a few hours or until the next morning
There is always a plan and once that’s drilled into you it’s very easy to keep going
80% plans that he expects to go perfectly and 20% contingency plans because “you don’t want to spend too much time in the suboptimum”
If he could go back in time he would want to win a championship with Ferrari (don’t we all)
“There is a new life, you know, in a few years’ time for me without driving.” Retirement????? A F E W YEARS????????
“I should have enjoyed more and [...] I would just change to live a little bit more, all those moments, and try to have more memories from those moments. I won the championship in Brazil 2005/6 and I hardly remember anything from those afternoons and nights, which is sad…” Oh Fernando…
“I would love to win the championship again, but it’s not the highest priority.”
“Winning Dakar one day is a high priority for me as well.” HE REALLY LOVES DAKAR AND HES SO CUTE ABOUT IT UGHHH “IF I WIN IN DAKAR THAT WILL FEEL FOR ME SOMETHING SPECIAL AS A DRIVER AND AS A PERSON”????? SO so so cute
He loves people who are confident. He’s attracted to people who are “so sure of what they’re doing”. He finds them powerful.
“College is beautiful time”
What is the hidden cost of your achievements? “Nothing really.”
“Probably not being in the sport and not being an F1 driver I probably would have my own family by now, but that’s something that you never know.” ???????? wdym you never know but YES nando loves kids good to know
How happy are you? (they dropped that like a bomb) the answer is “9, 9.5 [out of 10]”.
THE HEAD OF MECHANICS IN HIS GOKART TEAM SAID “THERE IS NOT MUCH TO CELEBRATE” WHEN HE GOT SECOND IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
HE WAS T H I R T E E N let a guy be happy cmon
“you win or you don’t” That actually maybe explains how Nando used to be when he was younger
One piece of advice for listeners? “Self-confidence. Being prepared for everything you do in life. You cannot be happy with anything. You have to always search for something better.”
How much did you prep for this interview? “Not much, I was in the sim this morning.”

The Benefits Of Staying On Top Of Audi’s ‘Service Due’ Alert & How To Do It From Experts in Herndon, VA
Tumblr media
Of late, the high-end cars are coming equipped with many advanced features that not only help in the smooth running of the vehicle but also warn you about impending issues. That is why it is often opined that one should always stay on top of the ‘Service Due’ warning message displayed on the screen of your Audi.
There are several advantages associated with staying ahead of the ‘Service Due’ warning message and here in this article, we will discuss the benefits of staying on top of Audi’s ‘Service Due’ shared with us by the expert mechanics in Herndon, VA.
Economize Your Maintenance Cost
Ensures Safety
Increases Reliability
Expert Recommendations
Economize Your Maintenance Cost
Now, when you are driving a high-end car like Audi no doubt the cost of repairs and maintenance is going to be pretty high in comparison to general cars. Most of the time it is seen that drivers don’t pay any heed to the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule for their Audi & this is why they get an inflated repair bill when encountered with issues.
However, when you are pro-active in maintaining your high-end car then you will able to avoid many serious issues before they strike your car by addressing the underlying problem before it takes a turn for the worse. That is why staying ahead of the ‘Service Due’ message is very important.
This is because whenever you get to see this message appear on the screen of your Audi, then there is a high probability of encountering challenging issues when you take your Audi to a certified repair shop for its due service. For example, when you are apt in replacing the engine oil of your car, then you won’t have to face serious engine failure issues.
Ensures Safety
The biggest benefit of staying on top of the ‘Service Due’ warning message is that you will be reducing the risk of encountering safety-related problems in your high-end car significantly. There are many parts in your car that play a significant role in ensuring that you drive safely on the road.
Especially, the brakes of your car that not only help in stopping your car when you press the brake pedal but also help in proper handling of the car. Generally, it is seen that with due course of time, the components of the brake system like the brake pads and rotors start to wear out.
When you are giving priority to regular maintenance and service then you can avoid a lot of brake-related issues before they pop up in the form of the ‘Service Due’ warning message on the screen of your luxury car. In addition to that, most of the time it is seen that Audi drivers encounter brake fluid leaks that adversely affect the functioning of the brakes.
Now, when you are sticking to the service schedule recommended in your owner’s manual then you can rest assured that before the brake fluid leaks out the underlying problem can be taken care of in the maintenance schedule.
Increases Reliability
One of the best things about sticking to the regular maintenance schedule is that it increases the reliability of your Audi massively. Nobody wants to get stuck in the middle of the road with a stalling engine or starting issues when going on a road trip.
Besides that, when you are not driving your car for a long time problems start to buildup and then when you suddenly try to start your car or drive, you face problems. The best way to avoid this type of problem is by resorting to preventive maintenance before you get to see the warning message.
Expert Recommendations
Now, apart from all those above-discussed benefits that you get when you resort to regular service and maintenance of your luxury car, the most valuable thing is that at times, the certified mechanics looking after your Audi can suggest taking up some maintenance tasks.
These suggestions are worth their weight in gold because they not only save your car from an impending problem but also go a long way in ensuring that the performance of your Audi gets a boost.
Finally
The above-discussed factors are some of the benefits associated with maintaining your luxury car regularly rather than waiting for the ‘Service Due’ warning message to pop up on the screen. You should get in touch with a certified mechanic to book your service schedule before it is too late and you get to see the warning message.

Hello my favourite writer in the whole tumblr!
I hope you won't mind my question but i am curious. In NICIY when everyone finds out what really happened with Ivy pregnancies we see all sorts of reactions except of Aegons. So how did he process the murders? Did he even care?
Hello lovely!! Firstly, thank you so much, I am so appreciative 🥰💜
Secondly, whether Aegon does or doesn't "care" about the fact that Daemon has been poisoning Ivy and thereby causing the miscarriages is kind of a complicated question. I would say that he cares as much as he's capable of caring about it, i.e. he cares in a vague, drunken, unhelpful, and absent sort of way.
NICIY Aegon is extremely, pathologically avoidant. He avoids his family and responsibilities because they make him feel inadequate, and he avoids his marriage with Ivy for the same reason. They basically only ever spend time together when a) there is some sort of compulsory royal function or b) they are trying to conceive an heir. Aegon associates the marriage itself with his (very unwanted) position as the future king, and the miscarriages as yet another way in which he has failed (even if people assume Ivy is the problem, medically speaking). He's not emotionally invested in the pregnancies in the same way that most parents would be, and even when he is saddened by the miscarriages he doesn't really know how to express it (see Chapter 3). In Chapter 1, Ivy tells Aemond that Aegon doesn't mention the miscarriages to her, and that's generally true. He expresses some contrition for his shortcomings to Ivy in Chapter 5, but again, everyone admits this interaction is a deviation from the norm.
Whatever Aegon's emotions are, he typically processes them alone and with the help of a lot of wine. I think we can assume that Aegon was angry about what Daemon did, but that the anger paled in comparison to Aegon's general emotional anguish brought about by years of neglect/abuse from his family and feeling trapped in his role as heir.
Ironically, the reveal actually leads to a slight improvement in Aegon's mental health! Chapter 6 Aegon (the next time we see him after the Daemon-poison reveal) is trying to turn over a new leaf to some extent and is more warm to Ivy and the baby. Now that he knows someone else was the cause of the miscarriages (and therefore that he hadn't failed), he feels relieved and like a little bit of pressure has been taken off him and Ivy. There doesn't seem to be any reason why Ivy's current pregnancy shouldn't succeed, and Aegon is realizing that his marriage could possibly become a source of comfort for him rather than stress...until of course he discovers Ivy and Aemond together on Aemond's wedding night!
Similarly, Aegon is able to be more affectionate and honest with Ivy after the decision is made for him to "die" (flee to Navarre) and free himself from his royal responsibilities. The less he feels trapped and/or like a failure, the more communicative and compassionate he is.

Pandemic Times: Learning How to Learn
“No one can do it for you, but you can’t do it for yourself.”
Learning loss is at an all-time high as a result of the pandemic’s lockdown, which force students to learn in unfamiliar, inaccessible ways. It caused us to switch and settle on a blended type of learning method, which resulted in hardship and difficulties with self-study, it is where the phrase “if you’re smart, you can learn” is denied, and the idea of learning step by step is introduced.\
Over the last few decades’ science has discovered that learning is a process rather than a byproduct of natural intelligence. It turns out that viewing learning as a method, or system, for developing understanding is far more accurate. Learning does not happen on its own, regardless of your IQ or general aptitude.
As a society, we need an education that is more comprehensive, and processed that fosters the creativity and problem-solving skills that are essential in the modern economy.
Learning can be accomplished more quickly with the use of educational help. Education is also how we store and distribute all the knowledge and skills we individually acquire. What it means to live in a society instead of in isolation is that we can benefit from education rather than having to develop new abilities and information on our own from the beginning. However, learning as a process involves more than just our knowledge, scientific findings, and predictions. The omnipresence of the internet and our shifting attention spans mean that facts and memorization of the have lost some of their value in today’s society and the changing function of our “expertise.”
Recognizing that struggle is often a necessary part of learning keeps us from becoming too discouraged and giving up completely. That is to say, “learning is a process.” A process implies that we can improve our ability to gain expertise through a method, effort, focus and practice.
It is also true our failures serve as windows of insight, giving us information on how and where we need to develop in order to achieve. In this regard, we can see that failure is essential to success and that it is also acceptable. Not all mistakes are acceptable, but mistakes that come from carelessness and failing to learn from them or from being afraid to try out novel concepts are detrimental and do not result in improvement.
Having to learn will always require striving, failing reflecting and creating new connections in the brain, which is one of the most crucial things for children to learn. There is no royal path to knowledge, mastery, and achievement that avoids effort and failure. The road to innovation is paved with theories and experiments that failed, despite the fact that were have a tendency to laud scientific innovations as flashes of brilliance.
Learning is not something that can be done automatically, all learning involves effort, which must be put gradually and one step at a time.

WHAT IS MY MUSE AFRAID OF? / TAG GAME!
In the list below, bold all the fears your muse currently has, italicize all the fears they've worked through or grown out of, answer the questions below, and then pass it on by tagging your favorite muns to participate!
Tumblr media
Common Fears and Phobias
The dark l Small spaces l Suffocation l Water l Thunderstorms l Dogs l Snakes l Spiders l Insects l Clowns l Blood l Dentists l Hospitals l Needles l Germs l Heights l Fire l Public speaking l Large crowds l Meeting new people l Being alone l Being touched l Failure l Imperfection l Societal rejection l Physical intimacy l Emotional intimacy l Being abandoned l Being forgotten
What other fears do they have?
peppino struggles with scrupulosity and fears being evil. his dad and grandpa used to say he looked and acted like some bad guy's hired muscle when he was a young man because he was an arrogant foolhardy brute, and it really got to him. he's internally prone to ensuring his actions align to his moral code and behaving as he feels a hero ought to, even if he views himself as a failed hero.
Why do they have these fears? Are these fears innate, trauma-based, or generational?
a mix of all three. one of his innate fears is deep water and pepp's never been a strong swimmer, so he avoids bodies of water bigger than a bathtub as a rule ( swimming in pasta / boxes of old pizzas is a different matter entirely, obviously ). his fairly traumatic tour of service and the death of his twin brother right in front of him left him an absolute mess of neurosis. and i think being raised by a family of famous heroes instilled in him certain fears of straying from the heroic code of honor laid out by his ancestors and of the monsters they've fought for generations. while he tries to judge everyone based on their own merits and how much harm / inconvenience they're actually causing him in the present, he's wary of beings like pizzaface / pizzahead on principle due to his family's history of encounters with beings like the pizzamancer.
Have they ever tried to work through or confront these fears? How did it go?
he's faced them like he faces every problem in his life: head - on, fists swinging. he's had mixed results, obviously; he's still a very volatile and anxiety - prone person, but he's not completely unable to function like he used to be. so. progress!
TAGGING: @pizzadoff if u wanna, for ur pepp?

What New Homeowners in Anaheim Need to Know About Plumbing Codes and Inspections
Buying a new home is a milestone, especially in a vibrant and growing city like Anaheim. Whether you’ve just closed on your first home or are relocating to this sunny corner of Orange County, it’s important not to overlook one of the most critical aspects of your property: the plumbing. Most homeowners take for granted that plumbing is in good condition when they buy a house, but knowing local codes and having proper inspections done can save you thousands of dollars in future repairs.
If you don't know where to begin, an Anaheim Plumber can guide you through the basics of plumbing compliance, code regulations, and inspection standards for your new home.
Tumblr media
Why Plumbing Codes Matter for New Homeowners
Plumbing codes are designed to promote the health, safety, and sanitation of your home. In Anaheim, like the entire state of California, plumbing codes adhere to the California Plumbing Code (CPC), which dictates everything from pipe material and drainage system requirements to water heater installation and backflow prevention.
Not following these codes can lead to refused permits, inspection failures, or even expensive repairs if something happens to go awry. It's particularly crucial for first-time homeowners to ensure that current plumbing and ongoing work is code-compliant.
What Does a Plumbing Inspection Entail?
Early on, before or after taking up residence, having a professional plumbing inspection done is a good idea. A plumber in Anaheim will generally conduct an in-depth examination that includes:
Water Pressure and Flow: Making sure that all the faucets and fixtures provide correct water flow without leakage.
Drainage and Sewer Lines: Checking for obstructions, root intrusion, or corroded pipes with high-tech camera technology.
Water Heater Check: Confirming that your water heater is properly installed, has the right safety valves, and is up to efficiency standards.
Pipe Integrity: Searching for corrosion, rust, or leaks in visible and concealed piping.
Fixture Functionality: Ensuring the proper functioning of all toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and other fixtures without any problem.
Backflow Prevention: Verifying that there are systems set up to avoid contaminated water traveling back into clean supply lines.
The outcome of this inspection determines if there are any immediate repairs required or if the system is up to code standards.
Do I Need a Plumbing Permit?
In Anaheim, a permit from the plumbing department is generally necessary for any installation, alteration, or repair of plumbing systems other than routine maintenance. These include:
Replacement or relocation of water heaters
Installation or replacement of piping
Installation of new fixtures (e.g., sinks, showers, toilets)
Connection to public sewerage systems
Permit requirements ensure the work is done to code and inspected by a certified inspector. When you hire a licensed plumber in Anaheim, they will take care of the permit application and ensure work is all properly documented.
Common Plumbing Code Infractions in Anaheim Residences
Being a new homeowner, it is beneficial to know common infractions that may be present in older or DIY-remodeled homes. They are:
Inadequate venting of drain lines can lead to slow drains or sewer gas leaks.
Non-compliant pipe materials like galvanized steel or lead, which can be old or hazardous.
Missing or malfunctioning backflow preventers can be a contamination hazard.
Incorrect slope of drain pipes, resulting in water accumulation or clogs.
Loose or improperly installed water heaters can be a significant safety issue during earthquakes.
Recognizing and fixing these problems early on protects your investment and ensures Anaheim's regulations are met.
A New Homeowner's Plumbing Checklist in Anaheim
Before or shortly after you move in, utilize this plumbing checklist for new homeowners Anaheim to get ahead of issues:
Arrange a whole-house plumbing inspection
Verify permits and documentation of any recent work
Examine visible piping for rust, leaks, or corrosion
Test water pressure throughout the home
Make sure your water heater meets code and is installed safely
Check for gurgling sounds or slow draining (indicative of blockage)
Check shut-off valves under sinks, toilets, and house water supply
Request a disclosure of prior plumbing problems or work from the seller
Selecting the Right Plumbing Partner
Navigating Anaheim’s plumbing regulations doesn’t have to be overwhelming. The key is choosing a reputable professional who understands local codes and performs thorough inspections. Whether you’re looking for peace of mind before move-in day or need to address issues in an older property, working with a knowledgeable, licensed
plumber ensures that your home is safe, efficient, and code-compliant from day one.
Conclusion
Knowing about plumbing codes and booking a comprehensive inspection are important steps all new homeowners in Anaheim must undertake. Reliable Engine Rebuilds with Quality Parts
Maintaining the performance and longevity of industrial engines depends heavily on the quality of components used during service and repair. Whether you're operating heavy machinery, construction equipment, or large generators, the condition of critical engine parts determines overall reliability. One of the most essential components in this regard is the cylinder head, which plays a central role in engine function and efficiency.
Understanding the Importance of the Cylinder Head
The cylinder head is a complex and critical part of an engine. Mounted on top of the engine block, it forms the combustion chamber where air, fuel, and spark come together to create the force that powers the machine. It also serves as a mount for various other engine parts, including valves, injectors, and spark plugs. Because it operates under high pressure and temperature, the cylinder head must be strong, durable, and precisely engineered.
A damaged or worn-out cylinder head can lead to loss of compression, poor fuel efficiency, overheating, or even complete engine failure. That's why regular inspection and replacement with a high-quality cylinder head is crucial for heavy-duty engines used in demanding environments.
Genuine and Aftermarket Parts for Caterpillar Engines
Caterpillar engines are widely recognized for their durability and high performance in industrial applications. To maintain this standard, it is essential to use top-grade parts for Caterpillar engines. These parts are designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications, ensuring compatibility, efficiency, and extended engine life.
Whether you're replacing piston rings, bearings, fuel injectors, or a complete cylinder head, it's vital to source parts from a reliable provider. Substandard components can lead to frequent breakdowns, increased operational costs, and potential safety hazards.
Choosing the right supplier for Caterpillar engine parts ensures that your machinery continues to perform under pressure. It also means you can avoid downtime, which is especially critical in industries like construction, mining, and marine operations where delays can lead to substantial financial loss.
Benefits of High-Quality Cylinder Heads and Engine Parts
Investing in quality components like cylinder heads and OEM-grade Caterpillar parts comes with multiple benefits. First, these parts offer optimal fit and function, minimizing the risk of installation issues or compatibility problems. Second, premium parts undergo rigorous testing and quality control, giving you peace of mind about their durability and performance.
Another important aspect is heat management. The cylinder head is responsible for dissipating heat from the combustion chamber. A properly functioning head prevents overheating, reduces the chance of engine knock, and keeps other engine components safe from thermal damage.
Additionally, using trusted engine parts helps maintain your equipment’s resale value. Machines that are well-maintained and built with genuine components generally command a higher price in the used equipment market. This can be a crucial factor if you plan to upgrade or rotate your fleet in the future.
Engine Rebuilds vs. Replacements
When dealing with engine wear or failure, many operators face the decision between rebuilding an engine or replacing it entirely. Rebuilding can be a cost-effective solution when you have access to reliable cylinder heads and other necessary parts for Caterpillar engines. A well-executed rebuild can restore your engine to like-new condition and significantly extend its life at a fraction of the cost of a new engine.
However, the success of any rebuild depends on the quality of the components used. Using inferior parts might lead to short-term fixes but long-term issues. That’s why it’s essential to choose trusted suppliers who specialize in Caterpillar engine components.

When it comes to maintaining the power and performance of heavy machinery, the quality of the cylinder head and engine parts cannot be overlooked. Caterpillar engines are built to last, but only if maintained with precision and care. Whether you are doing a routine service or a full engine overhaul, investing in high-quality parts is a decision that pays off in reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Proven Tips from Professionals for Effective AC System Maintenance
Does your AC have low cooling, particularly with the unpredictable temperature in Goulburn? Failure to keep up maintenance can result in higher volume energy costs and expensive repairs. Professionals offer easy ways to steer clear and avoid these fixable problems. With some easy DIY fixes and a few tips on when to call in experts, you can ensure your system runs smoothly during Goulburn's hot summer and freezing winters.
At Top Rated Air Conditioning Contractors, you will find a list of the Top Rated Air Conditioning Contractors Goulburn to ensure your AC system stays in top shape. These experts provide reliable maintenance, repairs, and installations tailored to Goulburn's unique climate. Now let us let's dive into the top tips for effective AC system maintenance:
Replace or Clean Air Filters Regularly
Regularly replacing or cleaning your air filters is one of the easiest yet most important maintenance tasks. Air filters capture dust, dirt, and allergens, keeping them from floating around your home. As time goes on, these filters can get dirty, limiting the airflow and forcing your AC to exert more effort to cool your environment.
Experts recommend checking your air filters every one to three months, replacing (or cleaning) them as necessary. Pet owners or those in dusty environments may need to clean more often. So, if you genuinely want to make your indoors better and allow your AC to work with optimum efficiency, change the filters regularly.
Schedule Annual Professional Tune-Ups
You can do much of the maintenance for your AC system yourself, but annual professional tune-ups are a key step in keeping your system running at its best. A licensed HVAC technician can examine all aspects of your system, spot potential problems, and make required modifications or repairs.
Professionals perform tasks like cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, checking the thermostat, and testing the overall function of the system during a tune-up. This can prevent breakdowns during busy seasons and also preserve the life of your unit. Having regular maintenance done by the top rated air conditioning contractors in Goulburn means that you will end up saving money.
Clear the Outdoor Unit
The outdoor condenser unit is responsible for cooling your home by releasing heat that the inside air absorbs. It requires unobstructed airflow to function properly. Debris, including leaves, dirt, grass clippings, and branches, can get caught around the unit and hinder airflow, cutting down efficiency.
Experts recommend at least 2 feet of clearance around the outdoor unit. Check the area frequently and clear away any debris or objects that might obstruct its function. Also, wipe the outside of the unit with a damp cloth to keep grimy residue from building up.
Final Words
Keeping your AC in top condition is crucial for efficiency, especially in Goulburn's changing climate. You can prevent costly repairs and keep your home comfortable year-round by following key tips like cleaning filters, scheduling tune-ups, clearing the outdoor unit, and maintaining the condensate drain.
For expert care and reliable service, trust Top Rated Air Conditioning Contractors to connect you with the top rated air conditioning contractors in Goulburn. These skilled technicians specialize in AC maintenance, ensuring your system performs optimally throughout the year. Regular upkeep extends your unit's lifespan, boosts efficiency, and reduces the likelihood of costly repairs.
