Ace Trappola
He’s so cute help meeee. He would actually be really nice for once and buy you whatever you want from the food stands. But he wants a bite of whatever you’re having.
You have to make sure to stay close to him or else you two might get separated in the crowd.
Those basketball shooting games— he’s a pro at those! He’s not the best at shooting since he mainly plays defense but he can easily win you something after a few tries.
He also probably talked the game vendor into letting him have an extra turn (he is so sneaky).
He always gives you the prizes he earns and you’re kinda left carrying around a bunch of stuff.
He is really impatient and gets a VIP pass to cut the line. He doesn’t matter how expensive it is, he doesn’t wanna wait for too long.
He’s not one for the Ferris wheel, it kinda spooks him when it starts rocking around.
Ace is either the one forcing you to ride all the scary tall rides, or you’re the one forcing him to ride them.
“Don’t be scared, you can even hold my hand if you want!”
He’s the one holding your hand.
Tumblr media
Deuce Spade
He has never actually been to an amusement park. Maybe he has before but as a little boy.
You’re mostly leading him around since he literally has no idea what he could or should do. Bringing him to the games is fun but a big mistake.
Do not take him to one of those games where the clown taunts you. You know what’ll happen…
He keeps on going for games that always end up with you failing. Like the climbing rope game.
He’s determined to win you at least one thing.
You will have to drag him onto those roller coasters because he is deathly afraid of going on those. He will never let go of your hand and there are tears in his eyes when he gets off.
He prefers going on the spinning teacup type rides or just ones where it’s generally chill.
He is so excited to go on the ferris wheel. It’s the first thing he sees and he’s like “oh my god I wanna go on that”
He’s always seen it on TV shows and he wants to see the whole park from up there.
Might smooch at the top too
“I’ve never been on one of these before. Hopefully it doesn’t fall…”
Please don’t shake the capsule or else he will actually start screaming and crying.
Tumblr media
Jack Howl
He’s gone to an amusement park but not one as big as this. The ones he went to were local seasonal carnivals in his town.
He’s confused at first and just follows you at first but soon he starts finding some activities.
Once he finds himself at the game section, he’s gonna be there for a while. He plays every game and what do ya know— he wins all the ones that involve strength.
He plays the rope climbing game not knowing it’s rigged against you. When he falls he’s like “have I not trained enough?” He gets banned from the game because he keeps on playing too much.
He probably gets a huge crowd around him on other games because he’s just that good. He’s left with a lot of prizes and he’s not sure what to do with them.
Jack is actually not very fond of roller coasters. Admittedly, he’s a bit scared of them. He doesn’t show it but he’s just in a state of shock after the rides.
“Here you can have this. I-I didn’t win it for you. Just take it already.”
Tumblr media
Epel Felmier
He’s simply amazed. He’s been to a carnival before but this is just amazing. He wants to try all the foods. If they’re caramel apples, he’s probably gonna criticize it, his apples are way better! He’s running all over the place because he wants to see everything.
He knows most of the games are rigged but will attempt all of them regardless. He’s motivated but after a while starts to get upset. He is really determined to win.
Eventually he does and he realizes he doesn’t want the prize offered and just gives it to you.
When he gets tired of the games, he wants to ride all the tall loopy rollercoasters. He is a bit scared but riding those would make him a real man.
He takes you with him and you have never seen him that happy before. If you grab his hand, he’s gonna feel so good about himself.
He’s boasting about it after.
“If ya get scared, jus’ grab my arm.” He’s so smug about it.
Tumblr media
Sebek Zigvolt
He doesn’t wanna be there. He acts like he’s being forced and someone is dragging him by the neck.
You have to lead him around for a while and once something grabs his attention, he’s hooked. You kinda have to force him to try the food. Buy him cotton candy and he’s begrudgingly gobbling it up.
Once you bring him to the games, he’s not as miserable. He may or may not rage when he loses a game but he has a lot of motivation.
He thinks all the prizes are ridiculous until somebody says “Maybe Malleus would like that” and then he’s blowing his entire life savings on winning it.
He doesn’t realize the games are rigged but eventually realized after a few failed attempts.
Sebek isn’t really interested in the roller coasters. You have to challenge him or threaten him to make him go on one.
“Sebek go on that ride with me!”
“It’s a waste of time. Go ask someone else.”
“Oh okay. Oh Malleus~?”
“That’s too dangerous for the Young Master!!”
That’s the only way you’ll get him to go with you. He will be almost stoned faced the entire time though but only because he doesn’t wanna show he’s actually having fun.
At the end there’s a slight look of disappointment that it ended.

Favorite Crime//Kirishima
!!MINORS DNI!! 18+ only
(at this point big shout out to you for coming up with these ideas!) this time under the title "Hey, watch it creep" My second piece for another collab created by@ultimate-astridwriting
Pairing: Yandere!ProHero!Kiri x fem!reader Words:7.6k
Summary: Meeting your fav Pro Hero at a convention was meant to be a one time thing, but coincidentally you somehow lost your most important belongings. And what a coincidence that out of everyone Red Riot himself found it.
TW: yandere, possessiveness, mild manipulation, dc (stalking, mention of death and murder, but not explicitly described, him keeping you locked up only mentioned at the very end, thoughts about it coming sooner), break in, long sex scene on the kitchen table, cunnilingus, fingering, choking, biting, leaving bite marks, Daddy Kink, softdom!Kiri, praise, size kink slightly, unprotected sex
Deafening screams surrounded you as you were waiting for the big double doors to open. Luck, that's what you called it when you got one of the last VIP-Tickets, considering they were sold out in seconds. It was still hard to believe that you were going to meet Red Riot himself, again. You knew him from before his fame, he had saved you once from a small accident you were involved in and ever since then he was your number one hero. By now he had saved hundreds of lives, there was no way he would remember you. And even without a personal backstory he would be your #1.
The black doors opened, revealing two buff looking security guards on each side. They kept a straight face while checking each ticket and searching through the belongings before people who were shining brighter than the sun entered the huge hall. Your excitement was soon replaced with fear, the anxious feeling of something going wrong bubbling up deep inside of the pit of your stomach. There was no chance things shouldn't go well, you tried to calm yourself down. The ticket was bought fair and square, not from a sketchy third partner, you had no weapons in your pockets or purse. But what if the code won't scan? If they think you faked it, call the cops on you, you will be banned from ever coming here again, no chance of ever meeting Kirishima again.
"Madam? Please continue walking, you're holding up the line," the security guard told you as she handed you the VIP bracelet. Every thing was just fine just said to yourself as you stepped into the event that's about to change your life. You were astonished at how colorful the hall was. Food stands were scattered around filling the big room with a comforting smell of everything sweet and savory. People were dressing up as characters from movies, animes and mangas or comics. Merchandise was showcased and sold. Special merch worth more than your rent for the next five month and others so expensive you would probably have to sell your soul for.
Fate, that's what he called it when his eyes landed on you from the raised platform through the tinted windows. While you were admiring some art, he was admiring another piece of art: you. The scene of him saving you played in his head as if it was yesterday, how you clung to him, looking up into his red eyes as if he was some sort of god. Never would he forget your smell, sweet and intoxicating. Kiri still carried the bracelet you gave him as a thank you, apologizing because it was nothing special, even after he told you it was his job, you don't need to give him anything. Now it was his lucky charm, taking it with him wherever he went. Warmness spread through his body when he spotted you buying a T-Shirt of his. You thought about him too.
Kirishima had spent two years searching for you, changing his work-out routine just so he could pass by the crash scene in hope to bump into you again. But how was he supposed to find you if he didn't even knew your name. Luck just didn't seem to be on his side. Until now. You were here, he finally had a second chance to get you and he wasn't going to pass it up. No matter who you were here with or for, he is going to be the only one on you will leave with.
"Red Riot, you with us?" one of the PR people pulled him away from you, back to the conversation they were having. "What? Sorry, of course," he said, looking down again only to find you missing again, silently cursing the man behind him. "You seem a bit lost, everything alright Eiji?" Mina asked him as she stepped beside him, putting her hand on his muscular arm. "Yeah, sorry, just a bit nervous. That's all. Thank you for asking," she offered him a bite of the donut she was currently eating to calm him down a bit, which he gladly accepted, feeling a bit more at ease now. He will find you this time, no doubt in his mind.
Three minutes. That's how long it took Kirishima to find you among everyone else. At first he over looked you, which really wasn't his fault. Someone dressed up as Elias Ainsworth was simply covering your smaller frame, but the moment his searching eyes fell on you his heart skipped a beat. You were here. For him. To see him, to be with him. Only five more people he thought, he could do that.
But now that he had seen you time appeared to be moving argonising slow. Minutes felt like hours and as much as he tried he could barely listen to whatever his fans told him, all his attention, all his thoughts where on you. His smile didn't falter once and he was kind to all, but he couldn't help and rush the small meetings.
"Hey love," his voice was deep, raspy and set of butterflies in your stomach, the warmness of his smile spreading through your body. "Hey Red Riot," your voice was small, quiet, everything it wasn't supposed to be. "Please call me Eijiro," first name basis. Even Kirishima would have been an honour, but he wanted you to call him by his name, had to hear you say it, make him feel like he's finally home. "I'm Y/N," you introduced yourself, your voice feeling a bit more secure. "Y/N, what a beautiful name," the effect his compliment had on you made him smile even more, it appeared to be easy to fluster you. "Thank you, Eijiro," he wanted you to say it over and over and over again, with love and adoration, moan it out while he pleased you better than any other human could even dream about.
"Are you here with someone?" an uneasy feeling made its presence felt. What if you were in love with someone else? „No. I'm here alone, my friend who wanted to tag along fell sick," you explained to him, noticing the tension that had build up in his body now leaving. "How long are you going to stay?" Kirishima asked, feeling less stressed once you revealed you plan on staying till early evening, considering there will be a small conference with the heroes. You didn't want to miss the opportunity of seeing everyone else here.
There was so much he wanted to tell you, ask you, get to know you, keep you with him, he couldn't handle loosing you again. But the photographer cleared his throat, pointing to his clock. He knew there was no way around meeting everyone else, so the faster this was over, the sooner he could be with you.
"I'll see you later," it wasn't a question, it was a statement, a promise. Nobody noticed his hand slipping into your bag when he hugged you goodbye. Nobody noticed how your keys and wallet disappeared into the big inner pockets of his jacket. He didn't do anything wrong, he wouldn't do anything with it, he would simple borrow it for a while, there was nothing wrong with that, right? "I hope so," you told him, sad that you had to part ways.
"Next," called the photographer, after handing you the printed out picture, the frame for it already awaiting you at home.
The interaction between the two of you still didn't answer you wether or not he remembered you. You never stood a chance with him anyway, he is a famous pro hero after all, he already said there was currently no time for someone serious in his life. That was until you sat in between the rather small crowd hanging on every word the heroes said while sitting on the stage. He revealed he had his eyes on someone. Your heart shouldn't hurt as much as it did, but you couldn't deny the feeling of your heart contracting.
The same way his did when he noticed you were gone. He had seen you in the crowd, waved at you when he went on stage, there was merely a tiny time frame of maybe ten seconds where his eyes weren't on you. Kirishima had to calm himself down, his erection growing harder by the minute, watching you wrap your lips around the wooden straw and thinking about how they would feel wrapped around him instead. He felt like fourteen again, mentally slapping himself for being turned on by something as simple as that, which definitely was a first for him. Those few seconds allowed you to slip away. Or at least you tried, considering you had no where to go without your car or money.
All he had to do to find you was walk onto the parking lot. Your cussing could be heard even from afar, telling yourself how stupid you were for not being more careful. "Everything okay?" his sudden appearance startled you and he almost felt bad when he noticed how defeated you look. "Oh, Eijiro. Yeah everything is okay, I'm fine," you brushed off, but the look of a lost puppy written across your face told him otherwise. "I'm not stupid you know?" he raised his eyebrows, leading you to a bench surrounded by small flowers, shielded by a big tree.
"Someone stole my stuff, I don't know how to get home. Also my phone died and my portable charger is in the car, so…“ you told him. A sigh left your lips as you looked at him through your lashes. "Y/N, that's really not a problem. I can drive you home, I'll talk to the organizer and security, maybe someone already found it and gave it to them or they will find it when they clean. It's not the end of the world, okay?," he laid his arm around you and pulled you into him, the heat radiating off of him calming you down. "Ki- Eijiro, that's really kind of you, but I can't-" you missed the flash of anger across his face. He won't let you turn him down. "I won't accept a no,“ before you could say anything he pulled out something from his pocket with a cheesy smile, hoping to lift up your mood.
"I still have your bracelet," he remembered. "You didn't forget about me," disbelieve was waved in your voice as you starred at the small object in his hand. "Never," red eyes took in every little detail about you, from tiny scars to anything that ornamented your face. "Come on, let's get you inside, it's getting a bit cold. I will talk to the staff and you can grab something to eat from our buffet," offered the tall man. He just wanted you to be happy, wanted you to feel save with him, wanted you to trust him. "Thank you," and you did, how could you not when he was basically a sunshine walking on two legs.
Whatever you offered, he declined it, telling you he had to go this way anyway. Which was the half truth, considering he should have turned right about twenty minutes ago instead of left. He just didn't want you to feel bad. Kirishima had asked you all sorts of thing, some more personal than others. Suspicious was the last thing he wanted you to be right now. It’s not like he didn’t care about your favorite color or band, but right now all he wanted to know was wether or not you’re seeing someone. You didn’t.
As you went to step out of his car Eijiro stopped you, asking for your number so he could text you if they find anything. You were more than happy to comply, smiling when he wished you a good night, texting you once he got home:
Meeting you again was awesome, I’m glad I have you back in my life :)
A week had almost passed and you found yourself texting the Pro Hero more and more. They found your belongings the next day, so Kiri offered to drop them by within the next few days. He had to find a reason to text you longer, had to build a relationship with you.
The red haired man send you a bouquet of flowers and a cute stuffed animal that reminded him of you after you told him your ex was found murdered. His body crushed like a grape. You had told you weren't really sad, he wasn't kind to you in the past, but it still didn't leave you unbothered. Probably got mixed up in a gang fight, his addiction wasn’t unknown and the case was quickly closed by the police.
Something he didn't want to find out while texting was that you were going on a date tonight. Everything between the two of you was going so great and now another man ruined it. You could have said no, but it wasn't your fault, you simply didn’t know any better. It was your dates fault for thinking he could try to take you away from him. Another reason why he had to keep you save from the outside.
He stood me up you texted him, feeling annoyed by the fact your date wasn't even mature enough to let you know it won't work.
I'm sorry. He didn't text you or anything? Of course he didn't, Kirishima thought to himself, watching the burning car. What a pity that his brakes didn't work. You should always check before you go somewhere.
No, nothing. He didn't even reply to my last message
Wait for me love, I'll be there shortly x
It was easy for him to get you to share your location with him. All he wanted was to look out for you, make sure you're safe when he isn't near you. The world is so cruel and you're his friend, that's all he had to say to you. Kirishima loved how naive you were just for him.
Usually you paid attention, don't give away too much, don’t give up the control you had with your surroundings. But it's different with him. He wasn't sure if you even noticed how much you trusted him, how easy it was for you to put your life in the hands of Red Riot. Misusing that trust would never pop into his head, he loved you for so long now, but he was scared he will lose you again. He might just has to keep you to him entirely. Would you let him? Or did he had to take you?
When he arrived at the luxurious restaurant his breath hitched in his throat as his red eyes landed on your gorgeous figure, clad in the most beautiful piece of clothing he had ever seen.
"Hey love," he greeted you, feeling your arms wrap around his torso, the smell of your perfume hitting his nostrils. "Hey Eijiro, you didn't need to come here. I could have just gone home and eat some take out," you explained, his hug around you tightening. It made you feel warm, not knowing his grip turned harder out of anger. Why would you always tell him about the things you could do without him. Every time he offered to be with you you would say no, tell him you didn't want to bother him. Did you not realize how in love he was? Or did you and you simply didn't feel the same? The thought of you turning him down made him even angrier, to a point of you squeaking out that you couldn't really breath. He apologized with a laugh, complimenting you. You didn't even got to say no after he told you to go inside again to have the date with him instead, as the tall man already pushed you through the door.
All he had to do was drop his name, a table ready within five minutes and an appetizer already awaiting you. As much as you would love to call this a date, you had to remind yourself that he was seeing someone. Never would you try and get between them, possibly destroying their happiness. His happiness. The sorrowful reminder of the two of you just being friend still stung. Even though you thought you had convinced yourself you only liked him as nothing more than that.
"They gave me your things by the way, they’re in my car. I would like to drive you home, is that okay?" he liked to give you the illusion of having a choice. "Are you sure? I can take the bus," you offered, knowing how far away his cottage was. "Nonsense, come on," he held the door open for you yet again, his eyes wandering to your beautiful ass that he would love to feel in his big hands, groping it and leaving his print in red on its flesh.
The car ride was filled with music and small talk, telling him about your day and your plans for the rest of the week and visa versa. When his fingers, draped over the shift gear, slightly brushed your thigh you shifted in your seat, turning your legs away from him. Kirishima's hand turned red, white spots appearing, caused by the tight grip on his shift. It almost cracked the leather and metal.
"So how are you and your... partner?" way to go, you thought to yourself. You knew a whole lot about him by now, but you have never talked about his sexuality. As far as you knew he could be gay. And because he never talked about the person he is seeing you couldn't just assume anything about them.
Why were you suddenly asking about Bakugou? Was he wrong about you? Where you like his last lovers? It didn't matter to him that they used him to get close to his best friend because he used them as well. But you? It felt like part of him died.
"Bakugou is just fine," his jaw was clenched and as much as he tried to keep his happy face on for you, the thought of you touching yourself to the thought of his best friend and not him? Craving Bakugou, wishing for his lips to be on yours, his arms wrapped around you, not Kirishima's. "Oh..." his eyes flickered to your face for a few seconds before returning to the road, seeing a surprised look painted on your face. "I didn't know the two of you were a thing! That's great though," while your lips were curved upwards your eyes didn't match. "What?" now it was his turn to be bewildered. "I mean, I heard the rumors of some fans shipping you, I didn't know they were true! Don't worry your secret's save with me," his body language told you how much he disliked the current situation and you didn't mean to push him.
"No... Wait. I am so confused right now. Why do you think I'm dating my best friend?" he asked you, turning into your street. Once you explained your train of thoughts his booming laugh filled the vehicle, relieve filling his whole body and feeling a ton being lifted off of his shoulders. „Oh, hahaha no. No, I'm not seeing anyone. What I meant at the con was- oh shit," the car stopped abruptly, his big arm immediately going across your chest to stop you from being pushed forward even with the seat belt on.
"Wha-" your eyes had followed his gaze, spotting whatever had him looking like he had seen a ghost. Your door was ajar and you spotted a cornice across your window from inside. It was dark but the street lights allowed you to see just enough. The shoe cabinet in your entrance was knocked over, jackets laying on the floor. The man next to you ordered you to wait in his locked car before he went inside, his quirk activated.
If the situation wasn't so dangerous your mouth would be watering at the sight of Red Riot in action. A breath you didn't know you were holding escaped your lips once he came back in sight. "Nobody is in there but I don't think it's save," his raspy voice told you as he opened your door, his hand finding place in the small of your back as you went inside. "You should pack your things and stay with me for a while, just so we're sure nobody is trying to harm you in particular," he let you know. "Why would anyone try to get to me? I don't have a useful quirk. My parents aren't rich, neither am I, I don't hold any power," you said, his hand stopping you from cleaning. "We should call the police. If you move anything it might mess up evidence on it," he knew what he was talking about, he had experienced these type of situations plenty of times. "Didn't your ex recently die? What if there is a crazy lover going around? Maybe he still owns someone money. You know you're save with me Y/N. I'm not that far away from you, your work is right around the corner, just a different direction," he saw a small part of you still hesitating to accept his offer, while another part of you wanted to be with him.
"I promise you, as long as you stay with me, nothing bad will happen to you," Kirishima would never let anything happen to you, never. He couldn't forgive himself if he let something hurt you. "That would be nice,“ you didn’t know the weight your words carried. It was like a modern Beauty and the Beast, only this time the Beast was already in love with his Beauty.
It worked :) Candy is send, should arrive soon.
It did, tastes delicious.
2k and a VIP pass to the next con was all it costed him to convince a small-time criminal he had caught before to break into your house and cause some chaos. Nobody was going to get hurt and he would never get in trouble for it promised Kirishima. And he would hold that promise dear to him. Because if that guy would get caught so did the hero, who had a lot more on the line. Which luckily for Eijiro that guy didn't think about much.
An hour later you stood in a huge entrance floor. Dark marble floors radiating warmth, caused by underfloor heating, welcoming the pacing of your feet as you slipped out of your jacket. "Eijiro, this place is beautiful! I might never leave again," you laughed to convey your joke. "You can stay forever if you want," as if you had a choice, he thought to himself, glad you liked your new home. He had renovated it a bit in the last week, making sure everything was the best of the best.
"Why don't you slip into something comfy? I'll do so too and then we can watch a movie if you like?" he offered and even though you felt tired watching a movie with him did sound like a great idea. He showed you around the house, explaining how Bakugo had helped with most of the interior design.
„I just don’t have an eye for that, but Katsuki? He’s brilliant,“ he explained, stopping at a wall covered in pictures. All of his friends had gifted him pics when he moved, so he decided to dedicate a wall to them. Pointing at a photograph of the two of you set off butterflies in your stomach. „That’s my newest addition, you look so beautiful here,“ Mina made that picture of the two of you, he had wrapped you in his jacket before walking back inside to talk to the security guards. (Y/e/c) eyes were fixed on him, laughing about a joke he made, his hand pushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
„This is the bathroom, if you need anything, just call me. Conditioner and everything is in there, feel free to use whatever,“ Kirishima offered, laying out a warm towel for you after you asked to hop under his shower.
"Please don't laugh. I thought I grabbed a different shirt but I must have been a bit lost in my thoughts," you told him, feeling heat rising up in your cheeks. When going through your bag you were so sure you had grabbed a plain big shirt, but it turned out to be the one you had bought at the con. It's not like he didn't knew you were a fan, it was just weird to wear his merch in front of him. "I think it's really cute," the man clad in a pair of grey sweatpants and a loose red shirt patted the spot next to him, a drink and soft blanket waiting for you already.
He had been drawing spiral patterns all over your upper legs and while his eyes starred at the screen he didn't had clue what the movie was about as his brain was corrupted by thoughts surrounding you. Only when a sex scene on screen caused you to shift ever so slightly in your position did his day dreams falter. Whatever the people were doing before, right now he had trapped her in between him and the wall. His hand was around her throat while his knee gave her some sort of relieve and whispering dirty things into her ear.
"Thinking about me doing that to you princess?" he asked you sweetly, pulling your attention from the suddenly very interesting bottle cap. Kirishima's lust got the best of him, he couldn't hold back anymore. He had to have you in every way possible and as much as he wanted to wait, to get you used to everything, introduce you to the situation you still didn't knew you were in- he couldn't. "Hm?" you probably misheard him, you weren't really paying attention to be fair.
"I asked you," he grabbed your chin with his hand, thumb on your chin while making you look into his eyes. You hadn't noticed but his whole demeanor changed. His bright eyes now as dark as red wine, catching every movement of your muscles, his body tense, appearing like a predator ready to jump on its prey.
"If you think about me touching you?" Kirishima finished, knowing very well that you did. He almost fucked up a job because the sight of you touching yourself moaning out his name barely left him any piece of sanity. You had read a story about him, a very dirty one as well and fuck how wet you were, so needy and helpless, mind filled with him and him alone.
He couldn't bare the thought of you having any secrets, something he didn't know. Kirishima had to know everything, what you eat, your favorite drink, what type of gifts you appreciate, your favorite type of book genre, movie genre, what TV you liked to watch. Where you more of a dog or a cat person? Or both, maybe neither? What made you happy, what made you sad, how can he lift up your mood? It wasn't hard to get access to your laptop. Okay, well it was, but he had watched a friend hack into someone's stuff before, for another mission and remembered how to do it. Just in case. And oh my, you were such a good girl for him. Saved all of your passwords, your history, your Netflix, youtube, tumblr. Everything laid out for him, because you wanted him to find it, find out everything he wanted. He loved you more and more every second.
You were beneath him within seconds, his large frame towering over yours and trapping you. His warm breath was fanning over your face, eyes flickering between yours and your lips while a few strands of loose red hair fell into his face.
"Eiji-" as you attempted to sit up again he pressed your upper body down without any effort using his hand, feeling your heartbeat quicken. His sweatpants appeared to be much tighter all of the sudden and you couldn't help but peak down slightly, the sight of his dick print, revealing his impressively thick girth, the length hidden through the shirt he was wearing.
"My eyes are up here," he chuckled, face getting even closer. "Eijirou, I don't think we should do anything indiscreet," you told him, pushing yourself forward by your feet in a feeble attempt to escape. Only to have him flip you over on your stomach, one hand wrapped around your wrists and holding them above your head.
„Don’t fight it," he whispered in your ear, grinding down on your ass, enough to send pleasure through your whole body, goose bumps appearing on your skin. "We should-" you tried to form a complete sentence, but his lips on your neck were thwarting your plan, especially after they found your sweet spot.
"Hm?" he asked, peppering more kisses along your delicate skin, your senses heightening when his sharp teeth were dragged along it. His soft lips curled up into a small smirk as another moan hit his ears, before his teeth sunk into your neck. The scream escaping your lips was a something in-between pain and pleasure. And without a thought you had pushed your ass into him, your throbbing cunt begging for attention. Shame clouded your head as you came to realize how turned on you were by the currently obscure scene you had found yourself in.
"Do you want me to stop?" his tone let you know that there was only one right answer, his other hand slipping underneath you to tease you. The tip of his finger ghosted over your clit, earning a whine from your side. As you tried to push yourself down to create some sort of friction he pulled away, clicking his tongue.
"I asked you a question Y/N,“ his husky voice reminded you, kissing the fresh bite mark and caressing it with his sharp tongue. "No," you breathed, the lust your body felt in every inch betraying your mind, which was barely functioning at this point.
"Tell me you want me and I'll put the world to your feet," he meant it, all he needed to hear was that you wanted him, he needed, craved, starved for your acceptance of him as the man by your side. "Eijiro, I want you," you whispered, feeling hot and cold at the same time, craving his touch on you but also to disappear in between the cushions. Surely you had thought about this plenty of times but telling him, talking to him like that was new, unknown.
"Come on princess, don’t tease daddy and tell me what you want," he groaned into your ear, nibbling at its lobe. Rough hand groped your ass, kneading it, fingertips gliding across the swell, down between your legs, going all the way up only to skip the spot you needed him at the most. "I want you, please," he had heard you just fine the first time but he couldn't get enough of it, needed more.
"You can do better," he was more of a pleaser but now that he had you, he had to take his time with you, had to have you to submit to him. "Please Daddy, I need you, I want you," the pitiful tone of your voice surprised you, but the reaction of his body let you know just how much he liked it. It was impossible to miss the twitch of his length against you or feel his hands tightening, the sound of a heavy breath escaping his lungs.
Once again you found yourself facing him, being pulled onto his lap, on hand on your hips and the other one caressing your face. The grip on your chin wasn't harsh, just strong enough to keep you in place. His soft thumb stroked over your bottom lip, pupils dilated as he watched it bounce back in place and glistering from your saliva.
If he wasn't in love with you already he definitely would be by now. He didn't give you the chance to say another word as his lips came crushing into yours, molding together perfectly. It felt electrifying and intense, a kiss filled with passion and hunger. Wandering hands grabbed your ass and as a soft moan graced his ears he slipped his tongue into your mouth, tips colliding and swirling around one another. Kirishima pulled you closer to him as your hand went into his hair, the other one tugging on his shirt.
"So eager," he whispered against your lips, happy to comply to your wishes and pulling off his shirt in one swift motion, your eyes not knowing where to look at first. Your attention was quickly occupied again by his hand slipping under your shirt, going along your side, up to your chest while he once again interlocked your lips.
The moans slipping into his mouth as his thumb circled over your nipple were fuel on fire and as much as he enjoyed taking his time with you, he will have all the time in the world with you from now on. The big man had waited so ling for this moment, had dreamed about this situation, spend so many hours thinking about it during the day. His mind was filled with you as was his heart, how you laugh, how you talk, how you taste. Oh, he had to know how you taste and he knew if he waited one too many seconds he might destroy you with the lust inside of him.
Strong arms secured you as he stood up, walking over to his dinning table and sitting you down on it. „It would only be fair for you to get undressed too,“ Kirishima mumbled against your lips, hands already at the hem of it and pulling it up. A few curses fell from his lips as he saw that you weren’t wearing a bra under the shirt. Pushing you down gentle his lips landed on your neck again, kissing the slightly swollen mark. He couldn’t help it, the view was so hot, he had to give you another one. You’re his, only his, nobody will take you away now. Nobody can. And even if they dared to try he will rip them apart.
As the red haired man continues to work his way down, he stopped at your naked chest. While giving one nipple bites, kisses and soft flicks of his tongue, the other one got attention through his hands, pinching and circling them. The movements had you gasping for ear, your legs wrapping around him and pulling him into you.
„Daddy I need more,“ you whimpered, making him kiss the valley between your breasts, down your stomach, before he stopped above the only fabric left on you. Your underwear was discarded in a second, the sound of fabric ripping made you look at him. His ruby red eyes were fixated on your glistering cunt, licking his lips as the thought of your pussy on his tastebuds.
Taking a seat in front of you it looked like you were the dessert he had been craving for years, never finding the right one. But now here he was, ready to devour you and hear you moans, have you gush over him. „Legs over my shoulders,“ he tapped them, grabbing the soft flesh of your thighs as you obeyed his order. „Good girl,“ Eijiro groaned, kissing the spots close to your core before his lips finally met your clit.
The cunnilingus he gave you made you feel like you were send to heaven and back. His sharp tongue knew exactly what to do, knew where to be at the right time. Nails dug into your skin and you were sure by the end of it Kirishima’s marks would be prominent for the next week. The small amount of pain intensified your pleasure and the first orgasm crashed down on you faster than ever. You were hoping for him to give you a small break, your whole body on fire but he was far from being done.
Wrapping his lips around your sensitive spot he sucked slightly, pulling a sinful moan from the back of your throat which caused his rock hard dick to twitch in his grey sweatpants. Not yet, he thought, slipping a long, thick finger inside you, while lapping at your clit.
You didn’t expect to feel so filled by just two of his finger inside you. But it came to no surprise as just the palm of his hand is as big as your whole, two fingers as thick as four of yours. Two minutes, that’s how much it took to make you cum for the first time, moaning out his new nickname and pulling on his hair. Kirishima didn’t give you time to come, a break was the last he would think of in this moment. Before you knew it another wave of pleasure crashed down upon you, making your legs clamp down. Well, you tried, but he didn’t really had to try to keep them apart.
„Does that feel good? You like that?“ the question was rhetorical, your body had answered it long ago. Your fourth orgasm was about to hit anytime now as his mouth was glistering from your wetness, licking it all up. He wouldn’t really call it mocking, but it amused and aroused him at the time seeing you so fucked, not able to form a full sentence, yet alone answering his question.
And there it was. The knot in your stomach released itself, eyes rolling in the back of your head, a single tear sliding down the side of your face. Slurred words, a mixture of curse words, affection and his name made him feel as powerful as ever. He did this, only with his fingers and tongue.
„Tsk, would you look at that princess, you made a mess,“ was the first thing you heard after you came down from your high, the white spots slowly disappearing. With a heavy breath you looked down, watching as his cleaned his lower lip with his thumb before licking your juice off of it. Eijiro was right: he was wet, drenched even. Your lover made you squirt and the look of ecstasis written across his face was something you could never forget. „I’m sorry-,“ before you could say another word he pulled you up to him with his hand around your neck, locking your lips and pulling your lower body closer to him, allowing his now freed dick to slip in between your folds. Dragging it slowly up and down made you jolt and whine against his lips, trying to pull away as electric like shocks went through your veins, the pleasure overwhelming.
„That was the hottest thing I have seen. If I wasn’t this horny for you I would make you squirt again,“ he told you, chuckling slightly when he saw your eyes widening at the sight of his boner.
You knew he was big, at least nine inches, but it was his thickness that had you speechless. Without the foreplay there was no way he would fit inside of you and even now you knew he had to be slow at first or else you might pass out.
„Don’t worry, I will be gentle… At first,“ a small smirk graced his face, his tip now at your entrance. Laying down his soft sweatpants before laying you down he made sure you were laying comfortably. Thighs against his stomach, knees on his shoulders with his body towering over yours, almost touching but leaving enough space for Kirishima to look at him slowly slipping inside of you.
Drawing small circles on your thigh and clit helped soothing you as he went in inch by inch. He was taken by surprise when you pushed yourself onto him, taking in the last couple of inches at once. „So you want it that way huh? All you had to do was ask,“ with that he was lost in his own word.
His thrusts weren’t fast at first, they were hard, hitting your g-spot over and over and over again. Eijiro either went with a rhythm of song stuck in his head or did whatever felt right, you weren’t sure. All you knew was that you didn’t want him to stop. As quick as you put your legs down to lessen the immense pleasure, as quick he had both of your ankles in his hand, putting them over his right shoulder. Thick fingers caressing the soft flesh of your neck, feeling your pulse against the tip of his fingers, before wrapping around your throat completely. With the current position your pussy was even tighter, giving him the opportunity to hit deeper than before. Whenever he was balls deep inside of you wet slapping sounds filled the room, just like a mix of the moans of the two of you. Your scents mixed together, his room spray not standing a chance, even though your favorite smell hit your nose once in a while. What a funny coincidence, you thought later on.
„M about to cum,“ you slurred, a particular hard thrust sending you over the edge yet again, your throbbing cunt adding to his lust. „Who do you belong to? Who’s your daddy?“ He grunted, as his hips were snapping again and again. Your neck was released for a short moment to wipe away the few tears at the corner of your eye that just spilled over the edge.
„You, ah, you Eijiro,“ the o was quickly blending with yet another moan. If you didn’t know any better you would think he was a son of Eros. He definitely looked like a half god the way he was pounding into you, body glistering from the film of sweat and red strands of hair framing his face perfectly.
„That’s right, you’re mine. Only I can fuck you this good, only I can love you, only I can touch you,“ he said through gritted teeth, his possessiveness coming through. Kirishima could feel himself getting closer and closer to his own orgasm, dick twitching and hips titubating as your walls tightened around him.
„Mh, my good girl, just a little more, you can take it,“ you shook your head, feeling slightly dizzy and have one thought in your head: his name. There wasn’t even energy left in you to close your mouth properly. Something he saw as an invitation, his middle and ring finger slipping inside, your moans sending soft vibrations through them straight to his still hard length buried inside your cunt.
So many possibilities for him to cum on. You would look so pretty with his cum on your stomach, or when it drips from your face onto your chest. Your ass would look delicious that way too. One day he will find out what his favorite view is, but the first has to be special. He had to fill you up, mark your insides, had to make you his out and out.
„Let go, it’s okay. Daddy got you,“ finally. Your nails dug into his skin, vision blurry as your body started shaking from the last wave of pleasure for the night. He let go himself at the same time, pumping you full with his cum, a few lazy strokes following before he halted, his cock still inside you. Deep, shaky breath helped him come down from his dream like orgasm. Your pussy was magic, nobody could convince him otherwise. Maybe this won’t be your last time for tonight, maybe he will have you again once you laid down in bed. For now all he wanted to do was to hold you close, care for you and make you feel his love for you.
Pulling you into his strong arms he pulled out a bottle of water, taking a few sips himself before slowly letting the cool liquid hit your mouth and throat. Soft words of affirmation were whispered in your ear while he petted your head, massaging your scalp softly and kissing your forehead.
„You did so well for me baby,“ Kirishima mumbled against your lips, making sure you took another sip of water. You were still in bliss when he carried you to the bathroom, filling up the bathtub and sitting down with you between his thick thighs. While he was gently cleaning you realization hit him: Finally, after all this time you were with him. This wasn’t another dream. This was reality.
It broke his heart to see you cry the next morning when all the doors were locked. You told him you loved him too and you never would want to leave his side under no circumstances. He believed you, you would never lie to him. But the outside was too big, too scary for you. The intruder could still be after you and try to take you away from him. Kirishima knew you will forgive him eventually, after all he loves you and that should be enough for you. He is enough for you. You will understand eventually. He couldn’t risk loosing you again.

Once Upon a Valentine's
For Cheryl ( @cherchersketch ):
I hope you enjoy this strange mix of fluffy angst as much as I enjoy your fanart :)

###
Felicity sat, legs spread out before her, in an empty aisle at the back of the convenience store, a heart shaped box of chocolate open in her lap.
She took a bite of a buttercream, savoring the cloyingly sweet taste and trying not to think about how miserable her night had been. At least it was almost midnight. Then this awful—like, truly horrendous—Valentine’s Day would be over.
A bell chimed near the front of the store, and then voices rang out, indicating that she was no longer alone with just her chocolate and the unsuspecting cashier. Somehow she couldn’t bring herself to get up, though. As pathetic as she no doubt looked, she still couldn’t bring herself to do anything other than take another bite of buttercream. So what if some strangers saw her going full crazy in the candy aisle? It wasn’t like she’d ever see them again. She didn’t know anybody in Starling City and just the idea of having to go out and meet new people, to make friends again… She picked up a strawberry cream and popped it in her mouth whole.
“Hang on, I want to get one of those chocolate boxes for Thea,” someone said.
“Aww, what a good big brother,” someone else—a woman—teased.
A booted foot appeared in her peripheral vision as she chewed her candy, and then, “Um… Are you okay?”
Felicity nodded, shuffling through her box, looking for a caramel. “Physically, at least.”
There was an awkward silence and some shuffling. Probably the guy trying to decide whether or not he needed to call for help.
“This kind is pretty good,” she said, lifting the box in her lap. “In case you were looking for suggestions.”
She figured he’d grab his candy quickly and leave, going back to his friends who were laughing somewhere near the front of the store. Instead he stepped closer, shifting to sit across from her on the cold tiles. Felicity looked up, confused and a little flustered, to see probably the most attractive man she’d ever seen in real life pulling his knees up so he could fit comfortably in the cramped aisle.
“Bad Valentine’s Day?” he asked with a sympathetic smile.
It took Felicity a moment to stop choking on her tongue long enough to speak. “Something like that.”
He nodded, his gaze knowing and constant. His blue eyes dragged her in, making it hard to look away, and her cheeks heated in embarrassment. It was a testament to his hotness, really. Before she’d made eye contact, she honestly couldn’t have cared less if this stranger saw her having a pity party. But now…
“I don’t normally do this,” she started, flustered and tripping over her words. “Eat candy on the floor of a convenience store. That’s not normal behavior for me. But I was supposed to have dinner with my boyfriend… My now ex-boyfriend.” A bolt of hurt—or maybe it was panic—shot through her chest at the thought. “And I haven’t eaten, but I also don’t really want to eat anything. I just want to… I want to…”
She shrugged, helplessly, unsure of what she was even getting at. When she glanced back up at him her eyelashes were wet with tears.
The man’s brow furrowed over those stunning blue eyes, his lips parting in a question. “Your boyfriend dumped you on Valentine’s Day?”
She didn’t answer. Instead she reached down, plucking up another chocolate at random. The texture told her it was one of those crunch bars. Bleh.
“Ollie, man, come on!” another of his friends shouted from the front, but the guy didn’t seem too worried.
“Do you want to get out of here?” he asked tentatively, then seemed to realize how that sounded, because he rolled his eyes and shot her a smile. “I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant… my friends and I are going to Poison.”
“To poison what?”
Her confusion seemed to amuse him, because his smile widened and he shook his head. “It’s a nightclub. A few blocks over. You’re not from Starling are you?”
She shook her head. “I only moved here a month ago.”
“Well, I’m Oliver. And if you want to go drink this night away, you are more than welcome to come with me and my friends.”
Felicity bit her lip, weighing the pros and cons of his offer. Pro: alcohol. Obviously pro. Con: having to get up and face people.
“I’m paying,” Oliver offered, sweetening the pot.
“Ollie, let’s go! You’re picking out candy for your sister, not trying to impress a—Oh.”
Felicity glanced up to see another man, also very attractive, round the aisle cap. He had black hair, and, to his credit, his smile only wavered for a second when he saw her sitting on the ground.
“Tommy, this is…”
“Felicity.”
Oliver smiled. “This is Felicity. Felicity, this is my good friend Tommy Merlyn.”
“Best friend,” Tommy interjected with a charming grin.
“Come to Poison,” Oliver offered again. “Make some new friends, forget about your ex.”
Felicity huffed a laugh. “Is that their slogan? It’s catchy.”
Oliver smiled again, the gesture making his eyes crinkle. “So you’ll come?”
For the first time since Cooper walked out of the restaurant earlier that night, Felicity smiled. “Okay.”
With that, Oliver pulled himself to his feet and grabbed a box of chocolates off the shelf at random. Felicity, feeling equal parts embarrassed and shameless, closed up her own chocolate box and followed him to the register. There were two women with them, apparently, both wearing dresses you’d expect to see in a bar. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she was interrupting a double date, but then Oliver reached out, grabbing the box of candies she was clutching to put it beside his on the counter.
“Oh, you don’t have to—“
“Felicity,” he said, turning to her with a soft look. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
She snorted and shook her head, but let him buy her the half-eaten box of chocolates.
###
They walked the two blocks to Poison.
Helena and Carrie—those were the girls with Oliver and Tommy—initially made nice once Oliver told them Felicity would be accompanying them to Poison, but by the time they’d made it twenty feet from the convenience store both girls had gone back to talking amongst themselves, occasionally trying to drag the guys into their conversation. Gossiping about some friend or other who they secretly thought was a bitch.
Oliver hung back mostly, walking by Felicity’s side.
Felicity really wasn’t sure what to make of him. He didn’t seem pushy or creepy or like he was trying to get in her pants. Maybe, somehow, she’d actually managed to meet a stand up guy who just didn’t want her to be alone on Valentine’s. She snuck a glance to her right, catching him unawares as he listened to whatever Helena and Tommy were talking about. He certainly was pretty, whatever his deal was.
Felicity had always found Cooper attractive, but Oliver… Oliver was, like, ruggedly handsome in a way she’d never seen outside of magazines and movies. She hadn’t asked him about his career, but if the answer was male model she wouldn’t be surprised. Tommy was also handsome, in a more refined way. And Helena and Carrie were gorgeous. So gorgeous, in fact, that Felicity felt a bit frumpy beside them, even though she had dressed up for dinner.
Up ahead she noticed a line of people outside a nondescript brick building. It had no windows, but there was a sleek neon sign above the door that read Poison in fancy—almost illegibly fancy—script.
Tommy led them right up to the door, skipping the line completely. The bouncer merely smiled and let them through.
“VIP treatment, huh?,” she said, as they stepped into the darkened entryway.
“We know the owner,” Oliver said, leaning down to whisper yell into her ear. The music was already so loud she could barely hear him.
“Oh.”
Oliver smiled, nodding for her to go ahead of him.
The club was crowded, bodies taking up nearly every square inch of space. A DJ booth sat atop a dais in the far corner, directly across from the bar.
The bar—the only thing Felicity was interested in—took up an entire wall of the club. It was a gleaming neon blue monstrosity, but it suited the strobe lights and lasers blinking across the dance floor. And it was the only place Felicity wanted to be.
She made a beeline for it, Oliver keeping pace even in the crowd. He touched her wrist as they got closer, then wrapped his finger gently around hers and led her to a couple of vacant seats near the back of the room.
“So what do you think?” he asked, leaning in close so she could hear him.
She glanced back, taking in the room, the darkness shattered by strobing lights and dancing laser beams. “I think it’s a headache waiting to happen.”
Oliver barked a laugh, leaning back in his chair. “That’s what I said. It does make for a good distraction though.”
Felicity shrugged, watching as one of the bartenders, a short brunette who barely looked old enough to drink, made her way over to them. She smiled wide at Oliver, skipping to a stop in front of him.
“Speedy.” He grinned, reaching into the plastic bag from the convenience store and pulling out the unopened box of chocolates. He placed them before her like an offering. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Her smile turned a little mischievous. “Aw, Ollie, did you get me cheap Valentine’s chocolate to make up for forgetting my birthday?”
He huffed. “I didn’t forget your birthday. I told you, there was a problem with the shipping.”
“Mmhmm,” the girl said, clearly teasing. When she noticed Felicity sitting awkwardly beside him, she gave her a quick once over before turning back to Oliver. “So who’s your friend? I thought you were coming with the Bimbo twins?”
Oliver gave her an exasperated look, but seemed at least partially amused be her assessment of his friends. “Thea, this is Felicity. Felicity, this is my little sister, Thea. She owns this place.”
“Are you even old enough to drink?” Felicity’s eyes went wide as she realized what she’d just said. “I mean—“
But Thea only laughed. “Surprisingly, you don’t need to be able to get into a bar to own one.”
“Thea,” Oliver said, taking pity on her. “Felicity has had a terrible night so far and I told her I’d make it up to her with free drinks. Think you can hook us up?”
She narrowed her eyes, then looked at Felicity. “What’d he do?”
“Oh, no! We only just met, like, twenty minutes ago. He hasn’t done anything.” She gulped, twisting her hands together on the glowing bar top. “It was… My boyfriend broke up with me earlier and I…”
She trailed off with a shrug, bracing herself for the inevitable “Your boyfriend dumped you on Valentine’s Day!?!?” followed by platitudes and pity. At this point she just wanted to get as drunk as possible and not have to think about it anymore. And by some miracle, Thea seemed to realize that, because there was no shocked exclamation or cooing over her like she was the most pitiful thing in the world. Thea just bent down, grabbed a bottle and a glass, and poured Felicity a straight shot of tequila.
“This’ll help,” she said knowingly, sliding the glass across the bar. “On the house.”
Smiling gratefully, Felicity grabbed the glass, throwing it back in one gulp. Tequila wasn’t exactly Felicity’s thing, she was more of a red wine kind of girl, but the warmth of the alcohol making its way through her system was a welcome feeling all the same.
Thea poured out another glass, then moved to get Oliver a glass of whiskey without him having to ask. She left the bottles before excusing herself to take care of some customers at the other end of the bar.
Felicity threw back a second glass and poured herself a third.
“Hey, if you want anything else let me know, okay? Beer, wine, water. Whatever you need.”
“Thank you.”
She appreciated how kind Oliver was being though it wasn’t something she was completely used to. She wondered again if maybe he was just trying to get into her pants—rebounding with him certainly wouldn’t be a hardship on her part—but no, she just wasn’t getting those vibes. And with how nice his sister seemed to be… maybe they’re parents just raised thoughtful children.
“Looks like someone’s getting the party started without me!” Tommy squeezed between her and Oliver at the bar, throwing his hand up. “Speedy! Round of shots when you get a chance.”
Thea waved him off, mixing drinks for a couple of college aged kids.
“So, Felicity,” he drawled, glancing down at her with a smirk. “This boyfriend? What’s the story?”
“Tommy,” Oliver warned. “Leave her alone.”
“No, it’s fine. He… It’s a long story, but I moved out here for a job and he wasn’t exactly happy about it. I thought he was just being stubborn, that he’d come around eventually, but I guess I was wrong.”
“How long were you together?” That was Oliver.
“Since freshman year of college. I thought… hmph.” She shook her head, then took a sip of her drink.
“And he just dumped you? Tonight? Because he didn’t want to do long distance?”
“Tommy!” Oliver snapped.
“Sorry, sorry. But he seems like a douche and you’re probably better off.”
She huffed. It wasn’t so much a laugh, but there was a certain sort of morbid humor to the whole situation. Felicity had really thought Cooper was it. That he was the one. And now, here she was, all alone in a strange city, single, and throwing back tequila shots with a couple of guys she just met.
“Tommy!” a girl yelled from behind them. Felicity didn’t look, but she was pretty sure it was Helena. Or maybe Carrie. Or, who knows, maybe it was someone else. Tommy excused himself and ran off to whoever it was.
She sat there, spinning her shot glass in circles for a moment before Oliver spoke.
“I’m sorry about Tommy.” He tapped his own glass once against the bar. “He isn’t really a relationship kind of guy, so he doesn’t really get it.”
“Are you?”
“What?” Oliver looked at her, slightly puzzled.
“A relationship type of guy?”
Oliver glanced away, down at his drink. He lifted the glass, taking a long gulp, before refilling it.
“I was in a relationship for awhile,” he said quietly. “Unfortunately, I was the douchebag, though. I… I hurt her, and…” He took another drink, then glanced over at her. “Tommy was right. You probably are better off without your boyfriend. I know my ex is better off without me.”
Felicity studied him for a moment, taking in the way guilt turned the corners of his mouth down. “I’m sure that’s not true.”
He huffed a laugh. “As much as your boyfriend’s timing sucks, he at least had the guts to end things when he realized it wasn’t going to work. I cheated on her.”
“Oh.”
He looked down at his drink. “With her sister.”
Oh.
Yeah, okay. As angry as she was with Cooper right now, at least he hadn’t cheated.
“I haven’t been a relationship since.”
He pushed his glass away, then turned slightly in his seat so he could look out over the dance floor. She followed his gaze, finding Tommy and Carrie dancing and laughing.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I shouldn’t have asked.”
He spun back to her. “No, no. It’s not you. I always feel guilty about it.”
“Do you…” She reached for the bottle of tequila again. “Do you regret it?”
“Cheating?” He smiled this self-deprecating little smile that Felicity found far too charming on him. “Yeah. But it wasn’t working with us. She wanted things I couldn’t give her. I wish I hadn’t hurt her the way I did, but I don’t want her back, if that’s what you mean.”
“He was the only guy I’ve ever really been with.” At Oliver’s surprised look, she blushed. “I don’t mean like that. I had a couple of boyfriends before him, but he was… I thought it was real with us. We were together for almost five years.”
Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Thea carrying over a tray of glowing blue glasses, smoke trailing off of them.
“What are those?” she asked as the girl set the tray down between them.
“House special.” Thea winked.
“A couple of those,” Oliver said, “and you’ll know how this place got its name.”
That didn’t sound especially appetizing, especially considering how the tequila was already starting to affect her, so she politely declined, asking for a bottle of water instead. Tommy and Carrie didn’t seem to have the same qualms. Thea waved them over and between the two of them they wiped out half the tray. Oliver just shook his head, watching them as he nursed his glass of whiskey.
Eventually, Tommy and Carrie made their way back to the dance floor, leaving her and Oliver alone. Well, as alone as they could get in a crowded bar.
“I’m sorry,” she said after a few minutes. “I’m probably ruining your whole night.”
At that, Oliver laughed. “Actually I’m probably having a better time here with you than I would have otherwise.”
Felicity gaped at him. “You can’t be serious. We’ve been talking about our exes. On Valentine’s Day. Not exactly the making of a great night.”
“We could find a better topic, yeah. But I like talking to you.” He leaned in, conspiratorially. “Besides, it beats having to fend of Helena from trying to drag me onto the dance floor, which is what I’d be doing if you weren’t here.”
Felicity giggled. “Then I’m glad I could help.”
Oliver smiled at her for a long moment, before leaning back. “Are you hungry?”
“Um…” She hadn’t been feeling up to eating when they got here, but now that the tequila was loosening her up a bit… “Yeah, I could eat.”
He grinned. “Great. There’s a Big Belly a couple blocks down.”
“Big Belly?”
He had been getting off his chair to put his jacket back on, but froze to turn back to her. “You’ve never had Big Belly Burger?”
“Um… no?” She shrugged. “New in town, remember?”
“Oh, I’m about to change your life.”
###
“This…” She swallowed down a bite of burger, following it up with a sip of her soda. “This is the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.”
Oliver made a grunting sound across from her and she glanced up to see him watching her, a fry halfway to his mouth. She would have blushed at the way his eyes had darkened at her words, but honestly? She just didn’t care. She was feeling loose and happy, and the food was just too good to worry about her innuendo. And, secretly, she kind of liked that Oliver seemed to be attracted to her.
It was nice to know she could push things in that direction if she wanted to. That he wouldn’t reject her the way… the way Cooper had.
No. No, she wasn’t going to go there. She was pleasantly buzzed and enjoying greasy fast food with the most attractive—and kind—man she had ever met. She wasn’t going to let thoughts of her ex ruin it.
They’d talked a bit, about non-ex things, as they walked over to Big Belly Burger and currently they were discussing work. Or, she was discussing work. Oliver hadn’t had a chance to get a word in edgewise, but that was only because Felicity was so excited about her new job.
“I’m the youngest person in the whole department, but my supervisor is actually kind of great? She actually respects my ideas and has let me take the lead on this new project we’re working on. We’re rewriting the code for the Palmer Tech’s security systems and it’s a huge deal.”
“It’s great you like your job so much. I’m currently training under my dad to take over his company and I wish I enjoyed it half as much as you seem to.”
“Oh? What do you do?”
He leaned forward, tilting his head slightly so he could see out of the window beside them. “You see that building?” he asked, pointing at one of the skyscrapers in the distance.
“Queen Consolidated?” she asked, following his gaze. “Your dad owns Queen Consolidated?”
She turned back to see him watching her with a gleam in his eye.
“Oliver Queen.” He stretched a hand across the table for her to shake.
She wiped her own hands clean before taking his, a mischievous smirk on her face. “Does that make us rivals then?”
“I hope not.”
The soft, earnest way he said it nearly caught Felicity’s breath. She pulled back, fixing her attention on her burger. They talked some more, finishing up their meals, before Felicity sighed. It was getting late and she really needed to get home.
“Oh,” she said out loud, as something occurred to her. “I really hope Cooper had the forethought to get a hotel room. Or a plane ticket.”
“You think he might be at your place?” Oliver asked, crumpling up his wrappers and cleaning up their napkins.
“I don’t know,” she admitted. “Coop is… not always the most emotionally intelligent guy. And I’m not sure he was actually planning to break up with me in the middle of dinner, so…” She huffed. “I really hope he isn’t there. I don’t know if I could deal with that tonight.”
Oliver nodded, then picked up her garbage and took it over to the trash can near the door. When he came back he helped her slide out of the booth and put her coat on.
“I can come with you.” He said it tentatively, as if he was afraid she might take it the wrong way. “If you want. Make sure he’s not there, or make sure he leaves if he is.”
It probably wasn’t necessary. Cooper was a jerk, but he was a harmless jerk. If she asked him to leave he would. But there was a part of her, a part she hadn’t known existed until this very moment, that wanted Cooper to see her with Oliver. She wanted him to know that she would be okay without him. More than okay.
Feeling just the tiniest bit guilty about that, she nodded at Oliver. “That would be nice, thank you.”
###
For the first time since she’d met Oliver, an awkward silence settled over them as they drove to her townhouse.
Oliver had ordered a car and they were both sitting in the back, but neither said much. She was nervous about maybe seeing Cooper and Oliver… He was rubbing his fingers together nervously, though what he had to be nervous about, she didn’t know.
She watched out the window as they pulled up in front of her house. The lights were out and she was pretty sure no one was inside.
Something gave way in her chest at that. Something heavy that had been there since Cooper walked away at the restaurant earlier that night. It was really over with him. He was gone.
She was sure she’d have a really long cry about it once she was alone, but for right now she was… okay. Not good, but okay.
Oliver got out of the car and together they walked to her front door. She opened it, flipping on the lights and calling out just to make sure no one was inside. When no one answered she turned back to Oliver.
“Guess he didn’t feel like sticking around.”
“I’m sorry, Felicity.” And the thing was, he really did  look sorry. “Did you want him to be here?”
She shrugged. “No. Not really. Though I wouldn’t have minded rubbing you in his face a little.”
He chuckled at that.
“Sorry.” She shook her head sheepishly. “You’ve been so nice and here I am, a total stranger, taking advantage of your time to get back at my boyfriend.”
He shot her a small smile. “It’s worth it to make a new friend.”
“Just a friend?”
She wasn’t sure where that question came from. And the way she said it, all breathy… What was she doing?
Oliver blinked a little, exhaled deeply as if steadying himself, then reached out to twine his fingers between hers.
“For now.”
He smiled kindly at her, squeezed her fingers once, then let go. He stepped back, pushing his hands in his pockets.
Oh.
“I thought you didn’t do relationships.” She said it teasingly, trying to alleviate some of the intensity that had settled over them. The intensity she’d created when she’d asked that stupid question.
He shrugged. “Maybe I just haven’t found someone worth trying with.”
Something about the way he said it, his unwavering gaze… Tears started to fork in the corners of her eyes.
“I can’t right now.” She sniffled slightly. “I just… I…”
“I know.” He nodded seriously. “I’m not asking for anything, Felicity. But I like you. And I’d like to get to know you better, even if that’s just as friends.”
She nodded, wiping at her eyes. “Friends. I can do friends.”
He grinned and finally some of the tension evaporated. They exchanged numbers and promises of getting coffee over the weekend. There was something there between them, she knew, and maybe someday they could explore that, but for right now she was grateful he was willing to give her that time.
“I’m really glad I met you, Oliver.”
He smiled, his eyes crinkling prettily. “Goodnight, Felicity.”
Then he leaned in, pressing a kiss on her cheek, close enough to the corner of her mouth that it wasn’t strictly platonic, but Felicity found she didn’t mind.
“Goodnight,” she whispered, stepping back into her apartment.
He waited for her to close the door before going back to the car, and she immediately ran over to the window to watch as he got in and drove off.
Somehow on one of the worst nights of her life he’d given her something to… hope for. And, yeah, she probably had a hard couple of weeks in her future. She could feel the tears swelling in her already now that she was alone, but she could also still feel Oliver’s lips against the corner of her mouth. Still picture his incredibly blue eyes and kind smile.
She changed out of her dress and heels and into her favorite comfy sweatpants, crawled into bed, and cried for the man and the relationship she’d spent years believing in. But in the morning, when she picked up her phone to find a text from Oliver, just a simple good morning, she found that she could breathe a little easier.
And, years from now, when she looked into Oliver’s eyes as they exchanged their vows, or as she squeezed his hand while giving birth to their daughter, she’d remember that night. Remember the kindness in his eyes when he found her, a complete mess eating chocolate on the floor of a convenience store, and every time she did, she’d fall a little bit more in love with him.

contains: slavery, caste system
Quirkless. Lesser. Lesser than humans.
The thick metal collar goes around his neck and closes with a secured beep. "Be good to your new master, Izuku," the Headmaster instructs. "You're the pride of our academy so try not to shame us. Always remember your lessons and oath."
"We serve at the behest of those who greater than us," Izuku recites solemnly. A mantra that was beaten into him since he was taken from his mother's arms by the DQA when he was only just eight years old and deposited in one of its many training academies.
"Good, good," the Headmaster says, looking particularly pleased with himself. "You're quite fortunate that you're benefactor is such a high profile character that you might be able to pay off your contract debt in ten years or so."
"Yes," Izuku agrees, even though he wouldn't have acquired such a debt if he wasn't stolen away and forced to learn at the feet of adults who claimed to know better. Claimed they were there to help him because he is quirkless. Useless. He must be taught to serve society better.
"Will they--," he swallows the flash of nerves for a moment, "may I know who is to be my new master?" The Headmaster grins, eyes twinkling brightly against Izuku's shadowy apprehension. "I have no doubt that you may already know his name."
"A public  figure?" Izuku murmurs thoughtfully. A politician or an idol perhaps? Someone whose name and face is spread everywhere enough that even locked away in the fortress of the academy Izuku would still be familiar with him to recognize who he is. "A celebrity then?"
The Headmaster snorts in amusement. "Close enough," he answers. "In his line of work he might as well be with the way the media and his legion of devout fans like the sink their teeth into him if they could." Izuku blinks, mind racing as he connects the dot. "A prohero?!"
His eyes widen and lower jaw dropping in surprise when the Headmaster gave a short nod. "I believe he's around your age, so young still but a prodigy they say. Having broken into the top fifty ranking in only two year after his graduation from U.A, now he’s among the top ten. His performance had truly been impressive.”
Izuku's heart stops.
U.A., the school Izuku had once dreamed of going to before it all came crashing down. In another life, in another world it would have been his alma mater, but this is his reality now. Now, he can only glimpse of those heroes on TV and thinks of all the could haves, would haves.
That should be me out there, his younger self had thought with a yearnful heart as he pressed his hand against the screen of the TV, but the academy was no place for broken dreams and fanciful wishes. It carved out every weakness of his and crushed it under its firmed teaching.
Izuku may have outgrown those childhood fancies, but he never stopped looking toward the sky like a bird with clipped wings. If he couldn't be one of them then he wanted to know everything about them. News clippings, scholarly journals, and books, he had devoured it all.
"I know you always did have a fondness of the proheroes scene," the Headmaster comments idly like Izuku's earlier obsession with heroes, though argue by his handlers that it had truly never gone away, wasn't a topic of heated contention throughout his years at the academy.
"This is the best match up we could ever hope for. You're one of our most brightest students--one I, dearsay, haven't seen in decades," he says, looking fondly at Izuku as though Izuku hasn't been dragged into his office so many times for corrective behavior measure.
Izuku has always been a good boy, but never an obedience one, his former teachers would often lament about that fact. It's precisely why although Izuku had had broken so many grounds and records at the academy, consistently ranked at the top of his class, but finding him a proper sponsor was hard.
On paper, he was perfect, if choosing to ignore his long disciplinary paper trail, but once the sponsor had met him in person and saw all the cracks of his polished submission in the rigid of his shoulders and eyes unwilling to fall to the floor, they knew right away--there was something terribly wrong with him.
Like, how he was a failure for being born quirkless so they had to carefully train him up with the best money the government could buy in hope that one day he could serve their best and brightest. Even then he'd failed to live up to their expectations of him.
"This pro-hero," Izuku says slowly and carefully. "Does he know of me?" Will he also be disappointed when he meets Izuku like all the rest?
"He specifically requested you. He was very insistent about it," the Headmaster responds, and then he frowns. “Rather forceful actually. Wouldn't take no for an answer. I'd even suggested going through our catalogues of other Lessers first before he make up his mind, but he nearly rip my head off." His frown deepens as his face pinches at the memory. "Such a crude behavior indeed. I almost wanted decline if it wasn't for his reputable reputation as a hero."
Izuku's eyes widen. "He asked for me personally? Who is he then—tell me?!" he demands, taking several steps toward the Headmaster with hands extended out as thought he was going to shake the answer right out of him.
"Izuku," the Headmaster snaps, eyes narrowing in contempt. "Calm yourself! You’re not a child anymore. You're a representative of this elite academy, so such ill manner does not become us!”
Izuku freezes, quickly dropping his hands to his side once more. "I--" His gaze fall to the ground as heat rises to his cheek. "I deeply apologize, sir. I don’t know what came over me like that." He quickly falls back, putting enough distance between them to regain his composure.
The Headmaster sighs. "I know you're excited because this may be your last chance at getting a benefactor after so many fail sponsorships, but do not forget your place, Izuku."
Izuku’s mouth dries and there’s an awful twist in his guts as another lecture starts rolling in.
"It's with your head bowed, eyes down, and on your knees at the feet of your master. You're incredibly brilliant and talented student, but no matter how good you are you're still a Lesser," he explains as though Izuku hadn't heard it a hundred times before. "You'll never amount to anything spectacular compare to the rest of us. Such is the plight of the quirkless."
Izuku bristles, hands clenching and unclenching at his side but he holds his tongue. If he says the wrong thing again, it'll cost him maybe everything.
It only takes one chance. That's all he need. A reason to get out of the academy's iron grip and its intense scrutiny so he'll have room to breathe and plan his way out of these shackles that bind him.
Freedom on bent knees and a collar around his neck. Oh, the irony.
"I keep that in mind, sir," Izuku murmurs, plastering a smile that he doesn't quite feel on his face. "When will I meet my new master then?"
"Now," the Headmaster says with a wave of his hand toward the exit of his office. "I'll take you to him right this instance."
Izuku jerks in surprise. "So soon?!" he asks. Though he'd long accepted his fate is not his own, but he hasn't been mentally and emotionally prep for a meeting with the man whose name will be carved onto his collar.
The Headmaster purses his lip unhappily. "He wants to meet you right away even though I'd insisted we give it a few days to prepare you first, but he's--" he scrunches up his face in annoyance, "extremely vocal about what he wants. Twenty billion yens will get you a whole lot of favor it seems."
Izuku chokes on air.
Twenty billion yen?! "Is that--" Izuku starts and then stops, suddenly finding it hard to breathe. "I-Is that how much he'd paid for me?"
The Headmaster frowns, scratching his chin as he steers Izuku out of his office. "It's how much he's sponsoring you for."
"Ah, I see," Izuku replies, even though he doesn't see how is that any different. No matter how they may have prettied it up, it's still an exchange of money for a service and in any other world that would be frown upon but here's it's a way of life for the quirkless.
The Headmaster escorts him through the winding halls of the academy where several students--their age vary as young as seven to even older than Izuku at twenty-seven--roam unrestricted in the hallway during their free period.
The campus is a sprawling education complex.
They're always learning to be good, better, for their master. Everything is for their master. From basic domestic skills like cooking and cleaning to learning violin first hand under a maestro, and then there's math and physics. The education here varies and complex.
It's all in service of their master in the future. They must be mold to be whatever their master needed. Trained to be the best so they can serve to the best of their abilities as companion, assistant, and consort. They have to be everything and nothing at all.
Coveted by those who only saw value in the rarity and the novelty of owning a Lesser, Izuku and his kind are ornament pieces meant to decorate the arms of their master but once their master get bored of them, they're quickly discarded and are no longer of any worth.
They are consider a priceless treasure up until the point when they're not anymore. To be treated like a commodity, with no inherent worth until others deem it so, is not the way Izuku wanted to live.
But nobody had given him a choice in that regard. Him and thousands of others like him.
"We're here," the Headmaster says as they stand outside of one of the private VIP rooms where they often entertain special guests visiting the academy. It's a place Izuku had been to many times before, presented to potential sponsors like a piece of meat to be sold.
There's a price on Izuku's head, a price on the head of all the students here. It an arbitrary number, but it's important enough that people have live and die by it. Izuku knows his worth and it has little to do what anyone else think, but it all comes back to money in the end.
Money from sponsorship that lined the pocket of the academy, money that kept Izuku and others collared and trap in their gilded cage and it is ultimately money that brought Izuku right in front of this door to meet the man who will decide his fate. Izuku puts on his warpaint.
He wears an indomitable smile on his face as though it was carved from stone as the Headmaster pushes the door open and leads him in. His eyes flutter shut for a moment and he breathes as he steps forward onto the battlefield with nothing but his wits to guide him through.
The room opens up to marble titles lining the floor, lights cascade down from a crystal chandelier hanging above, several muted grey accent chairs surround a glass coffee table, the walls are painted white on white, and even the rest of the decor stay resolutely neutral in colors.
It's simple, clean cut, and modern. And it left Izuku feeling cold and bereft every time he walk into this room. The only jarring difference this time around is the other person in the room beside him and the Headmaster. His presence alone immediately takes up all the space in Izuku's head and leaves him startlingly breathless and dazed with confusion.
Domineering is a word, Izuku would use. All-consuming is another. It's like stepping into a vortex and getting swept right up in the eye of its storm. A furious red storm that Izuku had been caught in since he was a child, fallen under its spell with a single infuriating glance. It's those same pair of eyes that had looked at him with contempt and scorn back then as though whatever they found of him it was sorely lacking.
The man doesn't rise from his seat and didn't offer a single word, but Izuku knows him, knows him like he knows his own heartbeat. The slope of his shoulders, the wide expanse of his back, the hard plane of his chest, every inch of him Izuku had a glimpsed of on the TV screen, he’d committed it all to memory.
It been more than ten years since they have stood right in front of each other, Izuku had changed since then but so did he. He's taller. Bigger. His presence more pronounce and dizzying in way like he'd finally grown into the great person he always boasted to be.
But then again, he wasn't ever boasting. He had meant every word of it. Believe it like it was a certainty that carried him through every one of decision and action. Izuku have always admired that decisive nature of his and here he is again, appearing before him like a dream made real.
The Headmaster lowers his head slightly in greeting. "Zero-san, I have brought him just as you requested," he says, stepping aside to let Bakugou Katsuki have full view of Izuku like he hasn't been boring a hole in Izuku's head since the moment they'd walked through the doors.
All the training that got him here, he had things he been primed to say, it all went out the window the second Izuku had seen him because nothing had prepared him for this, for reuniting with his former childhood friend again after more than a decade. Bakugou Katsuki is the one person he would have never expected to come here, let alone if it’s for Izuku. The last time they had seen each other, they’d parted with a lot of tears and vitriol thrown at each other.
“—I never want to see you again, you useless nerd! I hate you, I fucking hate you. Go away!”
The marks left over from that fight had never truly healed. Years later, he still carried those bitter words to into his dream, always wondering if he had another chance maybe he could have mended their tattered friendship again. Now, staring into the eyes of the nightmare that had haunted him ever since then, a strange mixture of wariness and curiosity warring within him.
“K-Kacchan—?” he asks, moving in stuttering steps as though he was pulled forward.
“Izuku! What are you doing?!” the Headmaster hisses, scandalized tone leaking into his voice, but Izuku found it was impossible to heed his words. “Stop that now!”
He takes another step and another, and then the collar around his neck constricts and sends a jolt of electricity throughout his body, dropping Izuku to the floor in shock. Izuku’s trembling hands fumble at his collar as he desperately tries catch his breath.
Out of the corner of his panic stricken eyes, he catches the sound of heavy footsteps as Katsuki makes his way to the Headmaster in three long strides. He grabs the Headmaster by the collar of his shirt and shakes him. “What the fuck did you do him, you bastard?!” is the first thing Katsuki says, and it’s so, so fierce and cutting that the words cut through the air like lightning.
Izuku recoils, fear taking hold of him for a second.
The Headmaster’s mask of composure doesn’t slip one bit, not even in the face of a top twenty rank pro-hero. Wordlessly, he carefully removes Katsuki’s hand from his person and smiles reassuringly. “Zero-san, it was just a precaution to control him in case the Lesser acted out. Don’t worry, he’s fine,” he promises, his voice slipping into a melodious and soothing tone.
Right away, Izuku can feel the earlier rise of panic and anxiety stirring inside of him is quickly disappearing under the Headmaster’s emphatic quirk. As a level four, the Headmaster has masterful commands of his quirk that let him use his voice to inject emotions into everyone nearby. It’s one of the many reasons he was left in charge of the Lesser Sponsorship Program because he could easily defuse any complicated situations if it arise to that. “Your merchandise remains unharmed,” he is quick to assure Katsuki, instilling as much calm as he could in those words that Izuku’s head is fuzzy with warmth, choking on a sweet toxic scent and if the Headmaster had asked, Izuku would have walked into fire for him.
But Katsuki is not Izuku, he isn’t defenseless babe against such a measly mind altering quirk. Katsuki snarls, shoving the Headmaster abruptly back. Hastily, he wraps a hand around his biceps, nails digging into his skin as he winces in a pain but whatever he did, he sobers up quickly after that.
A level four quirk user going up against a level six, who had been training and perfecting his power since he was young to able to use it at professional level and fight for his life and the lives of millions of other, is a joke in many ways.
The Headmaster is completely outmatched this time.
“Cut that shit out or I’ll blast a fucking hole in your head,” Katsuki bites out, vicious and meaning every word of it. Both of his palms are crackling with intent.
For once, the Headmaster acquiesces as he steps back and fixes his shirt. He remains cool and unperturbed, but the slightest tremble in his hands says otherwise. “I apologize, Zero-san, if I offended you somehow,” he offers, and slowly the tense air around them clears out.
Izuku can finally breathe properly now as thought a spell was lifted from him.
“Yea?” Katsuki sneers. “And who said you can put a fucking collar on him?! I didn’t tell you to do any of that shit.”
“Sir with all due respect, it’s standard procedure to assure the safety of our clients. We put it on every one of our Lessers when they’re meeting with their potential sponsor for the first time and during their probationary period,” the Headmaster explains as calmly as possible against Katsuki’s rising anger.
“He’s quirkless! What the fuck can he even do to me, huh?! The day I let a loser like him get the better of me is the day my old hag of a mother stop nagging me about useless shit,” Katsuki spits out.
Before Izuku can even let Katsuki’s jab against him sink in, he is drag up from the floor by the arm. Just as he got both feet planted on the ground, Katsuki’s hand reaches for him, his palm hovering right over Izuku’s throat. Eyes wide with shock, Izuku can feel the heat emanating from Katsuki’s touch and he quickly squeezes his eyes, mentally preparing for the pain to come.
It never did. A crackling pop erupts near his ears and he hears nothing else except for the burnt smell of metal teasing at his nose.
He gingerly opens his eyes to see whatever remains of the collar on the floor and Katsuki already retreating several steps back with a scowl on his face. Pawing his hands clumsily at his throat as though to make sure it’s real, his neck feels strangely bare and light for once.
“You won’t be needing this anymore,” Katsuki asserts, but it wasn’t aim toward Izuku.
“That was unnecessary, Zero-san,” the Headmaster rebukes, but he moves no actual move about it. Izuku casts a quick glance at the Headmaster beside him and sees while he’d managed to keep his voice even, he is clearly shaken by the Katsuki’s abrupt and forceful action.
Izuku has no doubt the Headmaster has every reason to be terrified.
Even at eight, Katsuki was rated by the Bureau of Quirk Testing to be a level three, making him leaps and bounds ahead of kids their age. Under the Number System, the government gives the most benefit and support to those people with higher quirk level. In a caste like class system where society value those with active overt quirk that are flashy and useful, Katsuki was already set apart from everyone else a young age. He was already overpowered and talented back then, but it was untrained and wild.
Now, seeing tit up close and personal, the way he had blasted the collar off of Izuku without leaving a single singed mark on him, it was so precise and in control that Izuku can’t help the swell of admiration rising up in him. Their years apart had done wonder for Katsuki’s burning talent. While Izuku was learning to get on bent knees and serving his future master properly, Katsuki was honing his skills and fighting villains in order to keep their world safe. The difference in their two diverging paths is a bitter pill for Izuku to swallow.
He digs his nail in palm as he curl right fist, but his expression doesn’t change. Katsuki’s entire series of action remain a puzzling mystery to him. Izuku knows Katsuki, of the young boy who was once his friend and then nothing at all, but that was back then; he doesn’t know of the man who stands before him now.
Katsuki is silence for a moment, his eyes unflinchingly rakes over Izuku as though he prying apart Izuku piece by piece to see what he is made of. Izuku shrinks into himself unconsciously under the intense scrutiny.
“Fuck this shit,” Katsuki declares finally, breaking the stilted silence, “we’re getting out of here.”
Izuku’s jaw drops in surprise. “W-What?”
“Wait—sir, you can’t take him yet!” the Headmaster interjects quickly.
Katsuki’s head swivel toward him with a glare. “Didn’t you get the money I wired to you?” he demands .
“Well, yes, but there are still paperworks for you to sign,” the Headmaster answers. “And I would like go over our ninety days grace period in case you any sort problem arise or you find our Izuku lacking during that time.”
“No need. Send it all to my lawyers,” Katsuki instructs, and before the Headmaster can get another word wedge in, he takes Izuku by the hand.  “Come on.” He drags Izuku forward with a forceful tug. “This entire place creep me the fuck out,” he says, cursing a storm under his breath as they leave behind a disgruntle looking Headmaster, who clearly never dealt with such a whirlwind in the likes of Bakugou Katsuki.
Izuku quietly lets Katsuki drag him of out the room and into the wide hallway, and leads him out across the campus without any further exchange. They didn’t speak much or at all in the VIP room previously, but the things he wanted to say and ask were things he doesn’t know if he could.
It’s all very, very different now. They’re not kids anymore; Katsuki who stands at the pinnacle of society while Izuku is just a lowly Lesser. He doesn’t know what he can hope to expect from this version of a much older and mature Katsuki.
He can only hope to find out in the following days, that is if Katsuki doesn’t send him back right away once he realize Izuku is not what he wanted.
In their silence, they march through one of the big botanic gardens where most of the students congregate in their free time and in their hurry they stir up enough commotion with Katsuki’s recognizable face and fame, and then there’s Izuku’s notoriety.
Loud whispers swirl around them as they make their way the garden.
“Is that Ground Zero?!”
“Wait, what is he even doing here?”
“—and with Midoriya of all people?”
“Did nobody warn him that Midoriya is a defected goods with how many sponsors he had turned over?”
“How much you bet Zero will send him back here in a week.”
“Not even. Watch, it’ll be just three days.”
Izuku grimaces. They haven’t step off the academy yet and the rumors are already running amok. Izuku’s stellar reputation in the academy precedes him once more.
“Ignore those fuckers,” Katsuki hisses, tightening his hand around Izuku’s own as they make it pass the garden and enters the main pathway toward the visitor plaza, where the entrance and exit is tucked away in. “I’ll kick their ass for spouting bullshit if I didn’t want to get out of here as soon as possible. The longer we stay here the more I want to blow up this entire place up.”
Katsuki’s hatred for this place is made obvious, but then why did he even come here in the first place? Is it really for him? But, then why? What did Katsuki even want from him? All these questions dog his step and confuses him even more. But in that moment he realizes there’s something even more important that he was forgetting.
“Kacchan, wait,” Izuku calls out, pulling to a stop.
Katsuki’s arm is yanked back and he too halted in his spot because of Izuku. “What now, Deku,” he snaps, turning around with an impatient expression on his face.
“I have to clean out my dorm first,” Izuku tells him, shifting his foot nervously. “There are things I want to get.”
Katsuki clicks his tongue in annoyance. “Just leave it. Whatever you need I’ll get buy it for you later.” At Izuku’s frown, he sighs. “What other useless things do you even that is important enough to stay at this cesspool any longer?”
Izuku bites down on his lower lip, pauses, and looks away. “My mother’s mementos,” he answers finally.
A beat, then. “Fine, we’ll go get your stuff first but after that you’re coming home with me,” he states, like it’s an unshakeable true. “No more fucking detour, you hear me?”
And that’s all it take, just those few words is all the assurance he need that maybe this wasn’t some cruel joke after all. Home. With Katsuki. He is going home with Katsuki. Katsuki wants him enough to take him home. For what reason, Izuku doesn’t know yet but he takes note that Katsuki hasn’t let go of Izuku’s hand since they’d walked out on the Headmaster.
Katsuki’s hand rough, full of calluses and little cuts and scars, but it’s warm and he holds Izuku’s with immeasurable care. Though Katsuki’s words hadn’t been kind, his hands speak for what couldn’t be translate into words.
This he will trust. In this he hands over his fate to Katsuki, so please, please don’t disappoint him like the rest of the world had. Katsuki has him by the his heartstring and Izuku hopes he doesn’t regret it.

If time isn't on your side--and let's be honest, just art pros may afford to devote days on end to fairs--your very best option may be to stay glued to the greatest functions, and you will understand these really are because the record of birthdays that are fair is usually known as their"week" (à manhattan project Armory Week, Frieze Week, or even Art Basel Miami Beach Week). Perhaps not just do these fairs attract traders and the most galleries demonstrating works you are going to know, but the larger fairs will also possess more stalls interval. In the event that you'd rather find less expensive job by offbeat or famous artists, then you may possibly want the joys of browsing the satellite fairs.
Can you ought to buy your ticket?
When they available to the people, you must not worry about being forced to buy a ticket if you're planning on going to the fairs. But the only way for you is to purchase your tickets in advance, if you'd like to walkthrough a fair throughout special preview hrs or visit a distinctive VIP occasion.
What exactly does a VIP ticket catch you?
Entry. Doled out by fairs within an increasingly exclusive basis for a small pool of collectors and artwork insiders, these Willy Wonka-esque moves gain you entree to your number of the sort of fancy amenities that make lots of everyday individuals see the Artworld as anything akin to this court of Louis IV. If you're in the maximal echelon of the art elite you'll be able to find yourself a private car in your beck and call, extremely ancient entrance into this fair, along with also an open door to various extra-special activities across the metropolis, from posh events into tours of collectors' domiciles and artists' studios.
Is there a ideal evening to stay fair?
If you you wish your nose pressed against the fair's doors ahead of the VIP opening in the minutes. Enterprising collectors much beforehand, however what you do often purchases Will work at fairs, what you notice isn't necessarily what it's possible to find. Even however it should go without mentioning that weekend afternoons may well be a small crowded if you are just looking to browse, remain in anytime.
Unlike a few podunk county fairs at which it's likely you need to be concerned about falling less than just about public restroom options, the artwork fairs grounds are large and by held in established institutional structures with bathroom alternatives that are nice. The lines, on the other hand, can be far from acceptable.

I came, I saw, I (little bit) konquered 💪
First of all: apologies for this mega massive post! 😂
But I wanted to fit everything in one, so that´s the way it has to be!
Big thanks to lovely Stockholm for being a very gracious host and taking such good care of this world-weary traveler! Let´s start off with some general sights before getting down to the nasty business of Mars!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have to say that seeing those posters for the 1st time in the flesh made me quite giddy indeed...
BUT NOW! On to the main event...
The M&G took place a few hours before the show, and arrangements were top grade, gotta give props when props are due!
Tumblr media
These two ladies were really lovely and seemed like PROS at what they do and yet POLITE towards us even tho this was probably the 3000th M&G they were handling. I have no complaints!
We were escorted to a small meeting room type of area right next door to the stage area, and at first I figured I wasn´t even gonna bother fighting the hoards for the 1st row seats, but then I heard Reni saying there was one spot left - and I leaped into action.
Tumblr media
At the M&G room Reni explained the rules and game plan for the evening. No personal/private questions, no simple yes/no questions, no groping during the pics, no running to the concert area (there were near-catastrophic incidents in Prague some days ago, some girls ran like cray and tripped and fell and created a domino effect and it was a mess...) and so on. 🙄
Reni asked us who has listened to the album (most raised their hands) and who has not listened to the album (me and few others raised ours... Hihi...), and what people´s fave songs were.
Then we got back to talking about the potential questions again, and she encouraged people to ask about the new album (*COUGH* REMEMBER THIS LATER AS YOU READ ON *COUGH*), or if you want advice etc.
Not that I cared much anyway, but seeing as she did not seem to touch upon “that topic” at all, I decided to try my luck and asked:
“What about the “elephant in the room”?” 🐘
The room fell silent and there were some dramatic “Oooooooh´s” coming from my fellow VIP peeps.
Reni´s face went serious and she quietly said “No”, as was fully expected.
I pressed on.
“How come?”
Reni: “Because we would rather... It´s a personal matter. Of the band.”
Me: “So we´re never gonna get any explanation?”
Reni: “It´s a personal matter... And until he doesn´t decide... It´s not in our...”
And that was it! That´s the explanation I managed to squeeze out! Sorry, guys! I tried, but... 😞
Tumblr media
I´m totally not the only one who reads that to mean that IT WAS TOMO´S OWN DECISION TO WALK AND IT´LL BE HIS DECISION IF/WHEN HE COMES BACK, right?! And that the band has no say in it, and they have no clue if and when the situation gets resolved?! Right?!
UGH! 😠
Then Reni went on to explain that if someone was there specifically to meet TM, they could get a refund but they would have to leave immediately.
Total bs “offer” because there ain´t NO ONE coming to these things just to meet TM, but whatever... I did contemplate if I should ask for a partial refund because I only got partial Mars, but chose to let it slide. Not even worth it.
One guy in the audience commented “Good question”, so I guess I wasn´t alone with my queries! It may have been Gustavo, I dunno.
Before the band came in, people kept busy by asking the crew a few questions.
And at this point I would like to offer a MEA CULPA and sincere apologies to the person/persons who I battled with some weeks ago when Reni´s home land was a topic. See, as luck would have it, one of the VIPs asked the staff where they were from, and Reni said “I´M ORIGINALLY FROM MEXICO”, so yeah... Haha! I giggled quite a lot... Sorry, anon/anons! I was indeed wrong! Shayla said she´s from NYC, Inaki also from Mexico and Diana (I think that was her name...?) from Brazil.
Shayla mentioned that she is kinda jetlagged. Reni said she´s usually pretty good with it.
Then they plugged Camp Mars (a few people had no idea what Camp Mars even is...) and lured us to buy with big promises of hangings with the band during the most magical weekend of the year.
“The band is also there all day.”
Tumblr media
Reni also inquired if people would be interested in attending Camp if they by some miracle happened to arrange it in Europe. Most people were eager, no surprises there.
Someone asked if Camp could be arranged earlier in the summer, and Reni said no because the Malibu Camp site is occupado until August.
Another one asked if Camp is getting bigger, to which Reni replied that “It´s getting better. I would not say it´s getting bigger because the number of people for the past 2 times has been exactly the same, which is 200.”
So there we have it. An official number.
Well, as official as these people are ever gonna admit, anyway... 🤷
Then we voted for our fave songs from the new album. “GWO” won.
(I voted Tabasco. 🤗)
Someone wanted to know if they were gonna play “GWO”, and Shayla said nope because they have not rehearsed it.
Of course not! 🤷
Then we swiftly moved on to the “Kumbaya” moment of the evening where Reni asked if someone knows how to sing, and some dude said yeah, so he came up front and started singing WoW.
Now this is just my opinion, but sitting there listening to an almost Sunday church-like hysterical pathos... Worshipers partying and yelling out the lyrics as if God himself was within hearing distance...
I did not know I needed that in my life. 😱
Tumblr media
Then Reni we needed to “make some noise so they´ll come faster”.
Is... is that what VK does too? 🤔
I dunno, but we did.
It did not help. 😴
To kill even more time, we did the obligatory “Where is everyone from?” round. I stayed silent. Surprisingly it seemed like almost half of the peeps were non-Swedes! The woman next to me was also from Finland. Wooooop!
Someone asked if the band is gonna do festivals, and Reni listed some upcoming dates. I don´t know why people don´t GO ONLINE to find out this stuff, but... 🤷
The crew also mentioned they have days off on occasion, Helsinki was mentioned as one of their days off, which kinda maybe means that the band will be arriving tomorrow and hanging for a whole day before the gig on Wednesday... Uuuuuuh!
Then all of a sudden...
Tumblr media
DOORS FLUNG OPEN AND ANGELS SANG PRAISES!  🎺
Well no, it was just echies screaming and clapping. 🙏
JL and SL sneaked in from the stage area and the masses of course went bananas.
I still sat in silence and watched. 👀
The bros had a table and chairs, but never sat down. Instead they stood and placed one foot ON THE CHAIR, as all civilized peeps do.
Tumblr media
JL asked if anyone was at the previous gig, and mentioned that it has been a really small show, but this one would be the smallest (arena holds max 3500 people). Last night apparently was “INCREDIBLE”, one of the better shows on the tour.
For some reason (pffft...) he spotted some German chicks who I guess were twins or smthg, I wasn´t really paying attention. Anyway, he mentioned “We always need more twins in our lives”.
Echies naturally giggled because OMGGGGGGGG HILAAAARIOUS, and JL went on to explain that “Hey our grandfather had a twin”.
Tumblr media
SL quipped that maybe he or JL will have twins, and JL mentioned that he and JR argued about the twin gene skipping a generation or smthg like that.  🙄🙄
Then he spotted some chick in the front row who had big muscles (no she did not btw) and asked her if she´s a trainer or smthg. JL mentioned that he just recently started working out again so he keeps looking at muscles.
Uh huh. 🙄🙄🙄
On/off SL gave looks around the room, and I got some too. He did not smile, not even a crack. Meh.
THEN IT WAS FINALLY Q AND A TIME!!! 🙏 😈
Some dude asked how hard it is to get a workout on the road.
SL said the recovery is the most challenging part. I guess he meant recovery from the shows.
JL says the 2 hours on stage are the hardest, and then the rest of the time should be spent by doing nothing.
That last part might be more familiar to some in the band than others... 🤔
Some woman from Ohio, USA was picked and I guess she yammered on about herself a bit too long because JL interrupted her speech with a very stern “QUESTION!” (we all know that tone... Hihi!), and she asked if there were any “Aha!” moments when making the album.
I suppose she did not mean “Aha! We totes should wrap this whole shit in Americana even tho it has fuck all to do with it!”...
SL said the 1st thing that comes to mind is “Rescue Me”. Apparently they´ve had that song for 10 years and have had people help them work on it (WHOOOO?!), and the last person they worked on it with caused them to have an “Aha!” moment when they realized they were actually going to finish it.
I´m sure we all share that amazement...
JL said he remembered sitting down during TIW in his home in Fredonia (his old home) with a synthesizer and the verse and the chorus are still the same. Lyrics have changed. The chorus used to just be “Rescue me, rescue me” without anything else, and 5 years later he was sitting on a plane and the current chorus started forming in his head. The song used to have a “pre-chorus” too. “He said” or “She said” (I could not make out which, or maybe both) before the main chorus.
He said the lesson in that is to never give up because you never know what can happen. Sometimes songs happen quickly, like “A Modern Myth” which he said he wrote in 5 minutes, and SL wrote “Remedy” fairly quickly. Finishing songs usually takes him longer than coming up with a song.
Next guy asked about creative differences between Album 1 and Album 5.
JL said you can still hear the same band on both albums.
(GIVE OR TAKE A FEW BAND MEMBERS, MAYBE... 🙄)
He listed all the elements the new album features. He said he thinks a song like “Echelon” could totally be on the new album.
Next up a woman who said she was studying to be in the music business asked what she could do to make sure no other artist has to deal with what Mars had to deal with (lawsuit etc.).
JL´s advise: Don´t sign a record deal unless you absolutely have to. Spread your music via social media and other platforms.
(I know he was talking about EMI specifically, but I could not help thinking there might have been some Interscope crumbs in there too...)
The woman clarified that she meant more from the music label/business side and not the artist side. Jl responded “Go work for Spotify”. He went on to say that record companies and people can be great too, but the deals are the problem. They should be transparent and available online. It´s the last kind of “gangsta business” where you can really take advantage of people.
Some dude mentioned that he saw Mars 11 years ago when they opened for Linkin Park in Europe. JL remembered that tour, SL did not.
Tumblr media
I guess he asked what it feels like to go from there to here (I wasn´t really listening because meeeeeh), and SL tried to come up with smthg intellectual and deep but it just sounded so ridiculously pathetic it´s not even worth mentioning. Smthg about just living and maturing and evolving as human beings.  💤
He also said they are really fortunate to still be together as a band (*SNORT*) because lots of bands from back then don´t exist anymore.
JL said this feels like a new and fresh chapter. Like his inner child. Like a reboot. Like they just got a facelift (HOLD YOUR LAUGHS, PLEASE). The new songs live are apparently “pretty INCREDIBLE”.
“I know some people are like “Where´s the guitar?” and “Where the heavy music?” but I think it´s still pure 30 StM.”
He also called the new album very dark and “lyrically on point”.
His point might be somewhere waaaaaay off the playing field tho, but...
Some chick with pink hair was up next and JL said he was gonna dye his hair pink but now he can´t.
SL said dyeing wrecks your hair and JL said his hair can´t take another bleaching.
And yes, you guessed it, folks. Fangirl giggles and swoons galore!
Tumblr media
Her actual question was about Mars music feeling ancient or smthg, again I was totally not even paying attention because I DON´T CAAAAARE. Sorry but these questions were fucking USELESS. 👎
Anyway, SL blabbered on about them being from an “old place”. JL said everyone has missed the point that they made the album by using modern American sounds like Hip Hop and Pop etc. and that WoW is a giant political FUCK YOU.
Except not too long ago he gave that interview to a Finnish journo and specifically banned political questions, but okay... 👌
He said it´s exciting to see people from different countries singing that song with so much passion that sometimes he almost feels like they need to escape through the back door (he was kidding).
Next that same guy who sang during the pre-M&G stood up and congratulated the band on the new album. JL in return congratulated the guy on his hair (= a poofed up semi-mullet kinda thing) and they chatted a bit about his hair. Soooo riveting... 😫
The dude said one of his fave songs is “Convergence” and he asked about spirituality or smthg. Again, not interested...
JL said the last album was only 7 songs and the rest were fillers (well he didn´t say fillers but I´m saying it), and this new one is 11 songs and only 1 filler.
While JL was still yammering on his response to the mullet dude, I made my move and raised my hand HIIIIIGH - and when he finally finished his looooong sermon JL turned my way and...
Tumblr media
Oh uh! It's Go time! 😱
⚠️ Little background info first! ⚠️
I obviously had thought of a few questions before coming to the M&G, just to prepare for the off-chance an opportunity might present itself. My options ranged from "Why did you call us Screaming Fat Girls?" to "Why did I have to pay 400 for this when 20 yo models get it for free?" and beyond. Yes I even toyed with the idea of sneakily slipping VK into the mix... 🙃
But sitting there as the M&G went on and listening to the other questions and studying the room's vibe, I started feeling my questions were all... wrong. They started feeling like I would just be purposely asking for trouble and causing a stink and potentially ruining the event, which was not my intention at all.
I started feeling like I needed to ask smthg current, smthg that has relevance in this day and age, smthg that hopefully gave us some answers to the questions we have been pondering about on the blog, smthg that would make you peeps proud, smthg that would not be a waste of a question - and yes, smthg that maybe poked a little hole into his massive ego at the same time! 🤔
So with all that criteria in mind, I went into battle...
Me: "Hi, speaking of the album, have you read or heard the reviews? Because some of them were... not very kind...?
JL: "This newest album?"
(NO DUMMY I WANNA KNOW IF YOU READ THE REVIEWS FOR THE ALBUM YOU RELEASED IN 2002!!! 🙄🤦‍♀️)
Me: "Yeah."
JL, staring right at me, with the snarkiest and bitchiest voice and most passivest aggressivest demeanor:
"Well thanks for bringing that up."
😱😱😱
His reaction both in words and in vibe (and the reaction from the room aka loud gasps, few hisses and cheers after he "lashed out" at me) was worth all the money I paid for that M&G, I don't even mind telling you!
SL also chimed in with “Yeah, thanks for bringing that up” but at that moment I was so focused on JL´s face that I completely ignored SL´s whining and existence - not to mention that every single molecule inside me screamed “HALLELUJAAAAAAAAH!”
So yeah basically I just sat there going...
Tumblr media
While he stared at me throughout that little exchange, he most def could sense the snark in my question, and I most def could sense the snark in his reply. Naaaw... Just a couple of petty snarks sharing a moment... 🤣🙊😍
#BucketList ✔
I guess that is what an orgasm of the mind feels like. ☺
And btw...
"Thanks for bringing that up"?
Honey, with the amount of shit we have on you, you should be very #Grateful I only brought THAT up! 🤨
Anyway, the room kinda “erupted” with little gasps and hollers and whatnot, and after that initial "explosion" SL took over and started "grilling me" about my choice of question.
"That's your question? You wanna know if we read and what´s our response to the bad reviews?"
I replied “Yeah, I wanna know”.
SL said he had not read any.
Okay, but... Why did you just jump on my throat about that topic then...?
He continued that everyone has opinions and tastes and attitudes and personalities and colors (???) and stuff... He said he can´t pay attention to it, he can only focus on what he did and the band did, and he feels great about it. He said he is secure in himself and his “bro”, as he called JL.
Then JL took over and in a very explanatory manner (calm voice this time) said that these days everyone is a critic. He said on social media any person´s opinion is as important as a reviewer´s. He also said he thinks a lot of the criticism revolves around the “Where is the rock?” argument, and that they are probably right.
“It´s not a rock album.”
Followed by a LOOOOONG silence.
A silence which was only interrupted by SL going “Well, there you go!” in a triumphant manner. Echies of course applauded, and then suddenly JL picked up again:
“Don´t be fooled, we knew EXACTLY what we were doing. But let me just tell you something: we have NEVER gotten good reviews. Even when we made rock albums. So... Nothing really changes...”
At this point it again felt like he was getting ready to move on, but NO! He still kept going!
“I have a feeling lot of it has to do with me...”
That Gustavo dude piped up with “Jealousy...”, but JL ignored that comment and continued:
“It just has to do with me being in the band... I don´t think people wanna let that slide...”
SL commented “Fucking weird...” and then after a short silence went “Great” in the most “NON GREAT” way imaginable. Kinda like when you spill juice all over yourself and go “Great”.
So with that “NON GREAT” “GREAT”, this topic was now finished and my time in the spotlight was over.
Tumblr media
I will point out that while pretty much everyone who asked a question before me got a “Thanks for the question” comment, I did not...
😭😭😭

BEFORE WE MOVE ON - QUICK ANALYSIS ON MY Q AND HIS A:
I think what we learned here are 3 things:
1. Poor SL really thinks he contributed to this album and has reason to be proud. 🤷‍♀️
2. JL is indeed VERY aware of the bad reviews and backlash his latest offering brought him. 😭
3. JL is also aware of the "bad rep" he has. Not just for the "Oh he's an actor trying to be a singer" thing which he has battled since Day 1 (which I'm sure he was mostly alluding to), but also that currently (= after SS) he gets ridiculed and judged on a whole new level.
I mean, the way he almost dragged the topic on and felt like he had to add “just one more thing”... Kinda felt like he was trying to convince not just us but himself as well... 🤨
Anyway, feel free to send feedback and thoughts on this! Did I do good?! 😜
*
Okay back to the M&G!
The next person asked what would they say to their younger selves.
JL wouldn’t wanna say anything because “We’re in a pretty good place right now in life and career… I guess I’d say "Take a deep breath… It’s gonna be alright. Don’t pay attention to the reviews.”“
Ooooooh... Still feeling butt-hurt from the previous Q, are we… ? 😏🤭
Tumblr media
The next Q was asked with such a heavy-accented English I had NO IDEA what he asked, but apparently JL did because he managed an answer. It was smthg about the Mars symbols (the triad). 🤷🏼‍♀️
The next chick started off my saying "I just wanna say I love you and adore you” and I almost yelped out “MR. KAUFMAN IS ALREADY TAKEN!” but managed to keep my emotions in check.
Her question was a pretty good one: “Why did you come up with the name "Monolith” for the tour", she said she (like all of us!) did not get it.
JL said the name comes from the giant screen on stage and the giant box thing as well, which of course for this tour they could not fit through the doors.
Next question was “Why did you call the album "America” when it talks about universal issues?“
JL: "I think the idea of America is universal (FUCK OFF ALREADY DICK IT SO IS NOT) and everyone has an opinion (WANNA KNOW MINE?) and the songs are universal. I think what’s going on in our country is probably going on in other countries. I don’t think we’re the only country thinking about things like immigration, the right and the left, what kind of a world we want to live in, what kind of a future we want. I just thought it was an interesting time and an interesting word. It really isn’t political title, it’s more of a concept (🙄🙄🙄), that’s why I liked all the lists that we came up with because they were so bizarre and funny and provocative. They do give you a sense of the time we’re living in.”
He went on to say that in 100 years people will be able to look at them and go “Oh, that was that crazy group if people that was alive between this time and that time and that fucking guy was president in America!”
Oh my! Look who’s getting all feisty again! Dare you to say that publicly tho!
Tumblr media
During this question the noise from the soundcheck taking place in the next room went up a few notches and Stevie´s high-pitched screams almost overpowered the Letos... They made some jokes about SA´s screams. 😂
And of course he kept with the “The name “America” inspired the film that we made that´s coming out later this year, the trip across the country... Did anybody follow it on social media? (I MAY HAVE...) The Museum of America in LA and many other things that we´ve done. I dunno, I just thought it was an interesting container.”
In relation to the previous question, JL also mentioned that he had an alternative title for "America" which he admitted (?) he sometimes thinks he should have used:
“ERA”.
As in this era we are now living in.
Tumblr media
YOU GOD DAMN DILL!!!!! THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN 40 GAZILLION TIMES BETTER THAN "AMERICA"!!!!!
🤬🤬🤬
I seriously almost screamed out loud when he said that... I can't even deal with him! 😠
He said that title would have been “a little more global but a little more boring”.
NO, DILL! YOU AND YOUR BEDWARMERS ARE GLOBAL AND BORING! THAT TITLE WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT!
😠
The last question came from a woman next to me (fellow Finn btw! 😃🇫🇮) who told us that she's a teacher and she asked what inspires them etc.
JL said that “sometimes I´m not inspired” (REALLY? Never would have guessed...) and that “at that point you just have to rely on muscle memory and to just put one foot in front of the other and keep marching forward... Someone asks a question you don´t like (WHO?! WHO ASKED A QUESTION YOU DID NOT LIKE?! 🙊), you deal with it... You have to do some part of your job that´s tedious (like... the actual working part?), you push past it... I think a lot of times it´s just showing up... You can surprise yourself. You start a conversation, you start a concert, and before you know it you´re lost in the concert and you´re enjoying your time.”
SL said what helps is “getting rid of the fucking trash in the head. If I feel distracted or there´s a lot of stuff going on in my head that doesn´t have anything to do with what I wanna do, I have to get rid of it. Meditation helps, hanging out with cool people (LOOOOOOOOL), yoga, taking a walk...”
And that was it! Show over! JL thanked us for coming and then...
Picture time! 📷
We lined up in the hallway and practically RAN through the stage they had set up for the pic.
Seriously it was RIDICULOUS! Felt even faster and more North Korean than in Getafe! We all legit had no more than 2 seconds to pose and then we were pushed out! 😑
Total bs. No other way to put it. Treated like actual cattle. 🐄
Anyway, I had a plan ready again and as I stepped up to SL who kinda "yanked me" between him and JL (not in a bad way but just kinda like "let's just get this over with FAST"), I said to them:
"Okay guys, let's smile like I'm a model."
🤭🤭🤭
Now, I don't know if they heard me or bothered listening (or in "someone's" case even understood what I was hinting at), but it def made me feel giggly... 😜
Anyway, end result is this:
Tumblr media
I think JL may have gotten what I was implying, or perhaps he was still salty about my earlier question, but he def pushed my back to get me to leave the area after the pic. 🤷🏼‍♀️👉🚪
Altho he probs does that to everyone, especially those who are not 20-smthg Russian models, but… Oh well. Kinda made me smirk even more! 🤣
Or perhaps it was my shirt which ruffled his feathers? 🤔
Wanna see a close-up?
Tumblr media
BOOM.
Tell you this much: online T-shirt printing businesses and 20€ sure provide a lot of satisfaction. 😏👕💳
And even tho I once again got only 20 Secs (Jfc… 😂), I still managed to sneak TM into my pic, sooo… 😎💁🏼‍♀️
More closeups:
Thanks GOD he looks more than decent in mine!
Tumblr media
And c´mon now, Jarry. I think we all know you can go bigger than that.
Tumblr media
Jaw seems to work a-ok...
And yes, I watermarked them because that´s how I roll, homies!
After the pics we were given our VIP merch: black beanie (not bad! I might actually wear that…), plastic badge (who the fuck needs these?!), a canvas tote bag (meh ok) and a signed poster.
Tumblr media
TRY TELLING ME BOTH THOSE SIGNATURES ARE NOT FROM THE SAME DAMN ALMOST-WORN-OUT PEN… 😂😒🖋
We were also allowed to stay in the M&G room and check out the official merch stand (pffffft! Did not buy a fucking thing as everything looked so uggo).
This tho...
Tumblr media
After about an hour of waiting, we were finally led into the actual concert area. As some of you saw from my IG posts, this was not a regular MonolOth tour gig, but more a club gig. The set was completely different, no monolOth anywhere, and stage was not in the middle of the room.
I noticed there was a balcony area too and I marched up to a security guy to ask if it was ok to go up. He said yeah but only 100 people are allowed up so I needed a special ticket, which he then handed me and told me I needed to give it back if/when I came down again so someone else could use my place up there. Very smart security move!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being as tiny as I am and as claustrophobic as I am, I knew standing in a sea of people and not even seeing a fucking thing was not a viable option, so I chose to wander up to the balcony - and oh man, that was the best decision I could have made! I scored a prime spot right up front and had full “skyview” of the whole room! Lucky move also because without the balcony spot, that IG Live would have been quite difficult to pull off…😏😄
JR’s DJ set was about as useful as sledgehammer when washing windows, so there’s no need to even discuss it. Literally maybe 7 people actually listened and cheered him. 😴
At around 8:40 pm the lights FINALLY dimmed and the show started.
Now, seeing as I did an IG Live for the whole show which means I did not take any pics or clips (I´ll try posting some of the clips I saved from the IG Live a little later on tho), I’m going to utilize a few fellow concert goers offerings here for vibe and atmosphere reasons! 😉
Tumblr media
And of course we can NEVER forget the true star of the night...

NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES.  OR SHIRTS. 🤣 🕺
As far as overall grade for the show goes…
Well, the people who came on my Live on/off and witnessed the gig with me can probably kinda agree that… eh… It wasn’t very awesomely great. 😣
The stage looked stupid with just SL’s drums, SA was once again shoved to the side where we could barely see him (but could hear him plenty!), the sound overall was kinda off (or maybe it was because of my location, but the drums sounded REALLY loud at times, almost drowned out rest of the instruments. Altho… what instruments? 🤔)…
But the biggest problem of all: Jared’s voice.
It’s fucking DESTROYED, guys. GONE.
Yes on some songs he sounded ok, even quite good on occasion. But overall, he cannot do a full show like a proper rock singer should.
And true to form, he skipped out on a lot of the lyrics (either he let SA sing, or the audience had to sing), and when he did sing (“sing”) he sounded BAD. Multiple times extremely off key and basically just shouted/screamed his way through the songs. There is no way on earth that anyone with ears could claim he sounded good!
Sheep would try no doubt, but lemme tell ya: Lies! Lies, lies, lies!
I think the only song which sounded at least half decent was “Stay”. It’s not a very challenging song anyway, so that one he still manages ok. Everything else… uh. 🙉
youtube
But it is what it is, I guess... Can´t turn back the clock and undo years of damage!
And that yelling is not helping what little he has left...
youtube
I did enjoy JL calling me and my fellow upstairs residents “BALCONY MONKEY MOTHERFUCKERS” tho. 🐒
Been called worse before! HA! 😂
Overall I would say that had I not had the IG Live peeps keeping me company throughout the show, I would have been majorly bored. There really was nothing even remotely interesting happening on stage (not counting Naked Dancing Dude!), and traveling across an actual ocean just for that show...
Not really worth it, gotta say.
If someone asks me if I would recommend buying a ticket, I would have to say no - based on the actual show, I mean. it just really does not offer any great “WOW” moments.
But on a personal level and by taking into account the WHOLE experience, counting the entire weekend etc., I will rank this as one of my better vacays for sure! And a big part of that is thanks to ALL YOU who joined and shared it with me, so THANK YOU! 💗
Report over and out!

13 Envelopes
pairing: reader x lin summary: After graduating from UCLA, you would find any way to escape having to go back home. Lucky for you, your Aunt Jasmine Cephas Jones had organized a way for you to have the adventure you’d never gotten to have before. You’re ready to take her up on the offer. warnings: rpf (naturally), mentions of teen pregnancy a/n: did someone call for a 5.3k chapter? no? sucks you’re getting one anyway and you are going to like it, dammit. [ted mosby voice] my parents live in ohio, i live in the moment. tagged: @defenestrate-yourself-please @justabravelittleblogger
(part 1) (part 2) (part 4)  (part 5)
As it would turn out, the Schuyler Sisters was a highly energetic number revealing that this particular musical was set in the revolutionary era. All you could think is that whoever came up with the idea for this musical was definitely an insane, crazy genius. It was something that shouldn't have worked but it did. You were absolutely entranced – to the point where you'd almost forgotten about envelope number three that was still waiting to be opened. Pippa reminded you of it after rehearsals. “So what did letter number three say,” she asked. “Jas would not tell me what she was writing at all.”
From what you could tell, Aunt Jasmine truly was friends with everyone in this cast. It just reminded you that Aunt Jasmine had always been able to make friends anywhere she went. Even in LA, Aunt Jasmine had pulled off most of the amazing adventures she'd dragged you on simply by being charming in a way that you were incapable of. Now you wondered how much of what you liked about Aunt Jasmine could only be there if you were with her in person. The third envelope featured a mini drawing of the MET and you instantly realized this envelope was a little thicker than the ones before. The minute you opened it, an old ticket to the MET was included and you instantly felt guilty until around two hundred dollars fell out of the envelope as well.
You realized even before you read the letter what the intention was – to send you to go see a show at the MET. A hazy summer memory came to you from when you were thirteen and Aunt Jasmine had been talking to you about her theater program in her fancy New York City high school. You'd been jealous and asked her if she'd ever been to the MET. It seemed like this adventure suddenly had proof it had been planned with you specifically in mind, with the hazy memories of hanging out with Aunt Jasmine and wistfully longing to go to New York City and soak in the culture.
Honey bun,
Do you remember those times in LA when we'd go down to the various outdoor theaters and watch plays for only five bucks for the both of us? Some of those plays were horrendously acted (budget actors, I'd assume) but every now and then we'd find a diamond in the rough. I think my personal favorite was one that had been their debut of the play – they were all so nervous but they managed to convey confidence that wasn't there. You said they truly sucked and maybe it was true, but I was charmed by how confident you had to be to book a space to put on a play that you hadn't tested with anyone. I've seen dozens of amazing plays, but nothing matches the confidence of that show. I hope one day to be that confident in something.
I think the most important of this letter is the point of making a memory. The MET is full of opportunities to make a memory for the night. I've arranged you a ticket with a full VIP treatment but if you have no interest in seeing this particular opera, I've also included 200 bucks so you can get the same VIP treatment for another opera. You have to arrange in advance for the VIP treatment, so make sure that whatever you decide to do, you decide it quick! That's right, the only task in this envelope is to go see a show at the MET – the same place you said you'd always wanted to go. You might want to go shopping as well. Have you checked your bank balance yet? If not, go do that. You'll find you'll have more than enough to cover a new dress, shoes, and whatever else you think you might need for a fancy night at the MET. You may go solo or you may invite someone if you'd like.
When you have completed that, you may open envelope number four.
All my love, Aunt Jas
It struck you then that you realized no... you hadn't checked your bank balance. How was it that even after years of not seeing you that Aunt Jasmine could know everything you'd possibly want out of a New York City trip? She knew always what you wanted and what you hoped for. Suddenly you felt guilty for being angry with Aunt Jasmine over not seeing you for a while. Perhaps it had been selfish to react with such anger to Aunt Jasmine not being around. Pippa wasn't at the apartment and she had explained she might not be back until late which meant you had a chance to go explore New York City.
You'd already gotten a metrocard, figuring it would come in handy as you stayed longer in New York City and you realized something with an odd feeling on the train: you were falling in love with the city. It had only been three days and you were already finding yourself looking at the city the same way a straight man might look at an attractive women in the club. Was it love – or did you simply lust for the city and what it could potentially make you feel? You were scared of it, if only because Los Angeles was safe in comparison to this brand new city.
You knew you had to check the bank account balance so you stopped by an ATM that belonged to the bank card and stuck it in, pressing the pin in. You had to change that, you remembered, if only because Pippa and Jas had stated many times that they did not wish to have access to the account. Your eyes widened when you saw the balance – two hundred thousand dollars in checking, five hundred thousand in savings. You exited out of the account, stepping back in pure shock. You couldn't simply text Aunt Jasmine and ask her the original starting balance. You were certain this had to be a mistake; people like you didn't just get seven hundred thousand dollars as a gift.
So you stopped in the bank, who confirmed the balance was correct and that while there was indeed interest on the account, the original starting amount in savings had been one thousand eight hundred and checking originally only had seven hundred and twenty. The teller explained that because the accounts went untouched, they accrued interest over the past two years, yielding the current balance. You had been able to successfully change the pin number on the account, explaining that you had no idea the account existed in the first place and that the account had been a graduation gift of sorts from your aunt.
It was the shaking realization that you were beyond overdue for some shopping. You were suddenly rich, thanks to your Aunt Jasmine. The realization hit you like a truck – your old phone was on your mother's plan. You could get your own phone today if you wanted to. You could replace your old laptop with something better. Which you did – you went straight the Apple store and bought yourself a new Macbook Pro as a quick treat yourself and didn't even feel guilty about it. You'd followed the spirit of the trip by leaving everything you knew behind and you missed having access to social media.
However, you did have a promise to keep with the envelopes. You decided to wait until Pippa got home, figuring bonding with her over a shopping trip would be a nice enough gesture. Back at the apartment, you discovered that Pippa didn't really keep the snacks you wanted around – not a whole lot of salty options to chose from. So a quick trip to the corner store later and you had what you decided was at least two weeks of snacks. It was a way of saying you were in it for the long haul. The only thing you couldn't bring yourself to do when you got back to the apartment with the snacks was set up the laptop. It felt like you were betraying your aunt, in a weird way. You owed it to her to follow through on this trip proper. So you put the laptop in the nightstand next to your bed.
What seemed like hours later, Pippa finally returned back to the apartment. Normally you were the kind of person who waited and hesitated. Isn't that why it took you two years to get to those letters? Here, you wasted no time. “Would you like to come shopping with me sometime? Aunt Jas wants me to go to the MET and I kind of need a new dress for that.”
Pippa looked as if Christmas had come early.
It had been difficult to find time in Pippa's busy schedule to go shopping together but they managed to squeeze some time in between Pippa's rehearsal schedule to take a quick trip to fifth avenue. You never saw yourself as being the type to be able to afford anything here. You'd never gone shopping with friends out of embarrassment of being broke and with parents who had struggled their whole lives to provide. Perhaps it had been unfair of you to be so harsh to your parents who were trying to provide but you had been ashamed in California surrounded by people who could afford things and who weren't struggling to get by. It was like a reward for twenty-four years of struggling and working hard to study to graduate and escape home. It was doubtful Aunt Jasmine could've predicted you letting the accounts sit for two years – seven hundred and twenty would've been a large sum to you even two years ago and it would've been enough to buy a new dress and new shoes for the MET at a decent price.
Those thoughts were swirling in your head as Pippa pulled out dresses in excitement at some fancy store with a name you'd already forgotten. Pippa's tastes seemed more boho than your own, picking brown and black dresses with lots of fringe on them. With little experience in shopping in high end stores, you felt a little out of place – almost like you were playacting at shopping. Pippa noticed your discomfort with a look on her face that you'd long learned meant determination. “We're doing this all wrong.”
“Is it possible to do shopping wrong,” you asked, still checking the price tags and having slight discomfort at the price tags. You considered eighty dollars a splurge. These price tags ranged from one to five hundred dollars, with some reaching into the thousands. Pinching pennies was an ingrained habit, it would seem.
Pippa's hands were on her hips and glaring at you checking the tags on each of the dresses you picked off the shelf and putting the ones that were over a hundred dollars back. While you were still getting to know Pippa, it seemed that Pippa was definitely the type of woman to take some control. “Y/N Jones,” she stated, ignoring you correcting her on your last name. “Your aunt went out of her way to make sure you'd have enough cash to treat yourself. Now you are going to stop glancing at those tags. Grab three dresses you like – you're going to try them on.” When you hesitated, she sighed. “Pick three or I'll pick for you.”
You sighed, grabbing a golden dress that hit mid thigh and flared out, a red a line sleeveless dress that looked like it'd hit the floor on you, and glittering silver one shoulder dress that look like it'd cling to you. Pippa was grinning as she shoved you to the dressing rooms and you had a feeling each of these dresses already outclassed your prom dress. And as you tried on the first one, you had a pang of weirdness glancing at yourself, unable to believe how something as simple as a dress could make you feel like you were a completely different person. Pippa was on the other side of the dressing room, half begging you to come out and model the gown for her. “You're being ridiculous,” you said with a shake of your head as you left the dressing room to show her how you looked in the golden dress.
Pippa clapped her hand to her mouth, her dark eyes glittering. “Oh gosh,” she said softly. “You look beautiful! And since you're definitely coming to the premiere of Hamilton, you're going to need more than one dress. So you should definitely get this one.”
A Broadway premiere? That wasn't your life. You didn't go to premieres, you didn't go shopping for gowns to go the MET, and you didn't shop on Fifth Avenue. Except somehow... it was your life. It was all yours. You could almost cry in happiness. “So I'm officially invited to the premiere?”
“It's August 6th. And I won't allow you to be late,” Pippa said brightly. You couldn't doubt her on that. “And you are definitely wearing this gold dress to the premiere! Everyone will think you're some famous model!”
Normally you'd protest the cost, insist that it was too much to spend on yourself. But you figured that Aunt Jasmine had left that money in your account as well as the cash gifts for you to take a leap and spend money on yourself. “Alright,” you said with a slight grin as you looked in the full length mirror and smoothing out the skirt. Looking at the price tag would only make you second guess yourself so you returned back to the dressing room to change out of the golden dress, Pippa insisting you hand it over to her so you couldn't go put it back on the rack.
After you'd shown off all three dresses to her, she insisted you had to buy them all and said it was a “treat yourself” day. She dragged you to another shop on fifth that exclusively sold shoes and made you buy three sets of shoes that matched – each of them with heels over three inches and a sandal like feel to them. They were not the kind of shoes you bought – you bought sneakers and flats, things that you could walk around campus in. You supposed that it was nice to have shoes that you could wear to fancy events, especially since you'd been invited to a nice Broadway event.
Pippa dragged you to Sephora next, commenting that it was so sad that you didn't really have a wide range of make up. “You know, if you're going to be living in New York City, you're going to need a wider range of choices for looks,” Pippa said brightly. “Also, some treat yourself face stuff doesn't hurt! Don't you dare look at the price tag!”
You wish you had a cell phone to pull out and check your bank balance – you had a feeling you'd already spent a ridiculous amount today already. You made up your mind – later today you were going to buy a new cell phone. The anxiety of not knowing how much you had spent was driving you crazy and the fact Pippa kept swatching products on you then chucking them in the basket she'd made you grab. She swiped some red colored lipstick on your lips and grinned. “You look great in red lipstick,” she declared. “Especially with those undertones – you need blue reds for sure, but you look great in warm reds too. We're getting you some.”
And that's exactly what she did – she chucked more lipsticks than you'd ever seen in your life into the basket as well as a few foundations from different brands that she swatched on your cheek. She dragged you all over the store, throwing over a hundred different products into the basket. When she finally pulled you to check out, you nearly died at the nearly three thousand dollar total. “Pippa,” you exclaimed in horror. “We can't spend three thousand dollars on make up and skincare!”
“Of course we can,” she said with a bright grin as she motioned for you to swipe your card. She was definitely not going to let you say no to splurging on yourself. “Think of all the Beauty Insider points you'll earn!”
You knew there was no point in arguing with her so you swiped the card with a slight wince. This went against the grain – you'd already spent almost ten thousand on those dresses and almost five thousand on shoes. And now three thousand at Sephora. This was definitely not you. You could count the number of times you “splurged” on  yourself – the last time had been fifty dollars on a sale that had got you the backpack you had used to come to New York City with and two of the jeans in your bag. On top of that, you still had to buy the MET tickets. You wanted to get the same package Aunt Jasmine had originally gotten the first time around, if only because you wanted to experience this trip the way she had intended.
“This entire trip was insane,” you said the minute you two were out of the store with your new purchases. While you were admittedly pretty excited about having an actual make up selection to chose from, you were miffed at the amount that you had let yourself spend. You knew you could've said something, but you hadn't. You wondered why you kept not saying no when you wanted to say no. Somehow, it seemed like the ultimate goal for you now: learn to say no. That was a good goal to make, you were certain. “You just bullied me into spending almost twenty grand!”
“You needed to learn how to spend money on yourself,” Pippa said rather dismissively. “Since you got here, you haven't really bought anything except for snacks. I know your aunt gave you a ridiculous amount of money and you have barely spent any of it on yourself. Besides, now you have a dress for the MET and for the premiere and for envelope four.”
Your eyebrows shot up. “Envelope four?”
Pippa's eyes went wide and she clamped her hand over her mouth. “Shoot, that's right! I wasn't supposed to say anything! Forget I said anything! Hey, let's get some Starbucks!” She dragged you towards the Starbucks, clearly trying to deflect the whole way. “So you know that musical we're doing? Lin, the guy who wrote it, has been going nuts. The closer we get to the premiere of Hamilton, the more he freaks out.”
“Lin wrote it,” you said in surprise, remembering the fact he'd mentioned meeting everyone on the crew and was involved with rehearsals. “So he's just hanging around?”
“No,” Pippa said, shaking her head. “He's playing Alexander Hamilton. But you knew that, right?” A quick look at your face showed that no, you did not know that. “Oh! Oh, I just assumed he'd mention it to you since you two were talking and he had that look of...”
There was a lot to process. You couldn't figure out where you'd heard the name Alexander Hamilton before, first of all. Second of all, did Pippa think that Lin had a crush on you or something? “Look of what?”
Pippa grinned. “He was looking at you like you were the most beautiful girl he's ever seen,” she said as she placed her order for her Starbucks order. “You should totally at least get to know him. I bet you two would get along.”
You wondered where she figured that from. You thought about that as you two made the trip to the MET with Pippa to organize the VIP experience with her. You figured you might as well pay for her ticket as well since she was being nice enough to take time out of her schedule to hang out with you. It could've been like your roommate situation in college where you barely saw the girl you lived with and when she was there, neither of you talked to each other. It was awkward and you aren't even certain you remember the girl's name correctly – you wanted to say Stacey but you were certain that wasn't it.
The problem with an experience that had to be arranged in advance meant that you both now had to wait until Saturday, Pippa's next free day, to actually go to the MET. Which meant that Pippa dragged you to rehearsals again the next day with a bright grin on her face, insisting that you at least try to get to know Lin better. So with winged eyeliner applied carefully and a test drive of one of the bright red lipsticks you'd bought yesterday paired awkwardly with your old raggedy jeans and a white tank top, you'd agree to come along with her. “Is this musical really based on a founding father? Wasn't there already one of those?”
You were being rhetorical – you already knew there was another musical based on a founding father due to the fact your Aunt Jasmine had dragged you to a production of 1776. You couldn't speak for the quality of the production and you still weren't certain if you'd liked it. History was never one of your favorite subjects. The thing you didn't like about history is how it was exclusively white men telling the story, however with this particular musical you couldn't help but notice how little white men were involved in this project. “Well, yeah,” Pippa said as she led you through the Richard Rogers to her dressing room. “But this one is different. It's a hip hop musical.”
With that, you couldn't help but burst into laughter. It was the single stupidest thing you'd ever heard but the energetic performance of Schuyler Sisters was still in the back of your head. For some reason, you could somehow see it working out if every number was as good as the one you'd witnessed. “That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard.”
“You're breaking my heart,” came a male voice from the doorway. From the look of sheer glee on Pippa's face, you had a guess who it was. “Though I will admit, on paper it does look crazy.”
Your cheeks heated up as you turned around to face Lin, who had a pretty easy going grin on his face for a guy whose work you just insulted. Was he always this chipper? It was nine in the morning and here he was, grinning like he didn't have a care in the world. You didn't know if you liked that or not. “Crazy? Try totally insane,” you said, figuring if you were going to insult him, you might as well go all out. “Who looks at a founding father and thinks yeah, he'd be great material for a hip hop musical.”
“Well, if you'd like, I could tell you all about the thought process while I give you a tour of the theater.”
You turned back to Pippa, as if asking for her permission. She gave a quick nod, letting you know it was totally fine to ditch her. So you turned back to him with a grin. “I'd love to take you up on that tour.”
It turns out that Lin wasn't just a pretty face that vapidly filled the void with as much words as he could as you'd previously assumed. No, it turns out that he was definitely a smart, charismatic guy and that combination was all it took for him to go from background noise chatter to having your full attention. He'd explained his thought process to you about how he had been reading a biography on Alexander Hamilton and just started thinking of it in terms of rap. While you still barely understood his thought process in music, you could appreciate his story telling chops. When he told a story, he commanded attention in a way you'd never seen before. It was effortless.
You'd wondered how you'd never heard about him before as he mentioned that he already had done another musical before in 2008. Aunt Jasmine never shut up about theater. Your father's Latino heritage should've been reason enough to mention a musical that featured an all Latino cast. “So. The casting process here. From what I vaguely remember when Dick Cheney shot that guy and Hamilton was being mentioned as the only other guy who'd been shot by a sitting vice president... Aaron Burr is that vice president, right?”
Lin laughed though you weren't sure if it was over the reference to Dick Cheney or the sheer humor in the fact that someone being shot by the vice president had managed to happen to twice in American history.. “Yes, Aaron Burr is the vice president that shot Hamilton. Maybe in another two hundred years, they'll be making a musical about Henry Whittington.”
“Doubtful,” you said with a snort. “Henry Whittington is kind of a boring dude. But back to the point – Aaron Burr in history is a white guy. You casted a black guy to play him. And my aunt – a black woman – is playing a historically white woman. And Pippa is playing who was historically a white woman. And you casted yourself, a Latino, as Alexander Hamilton, who was historically white. So what's up with that?”
“Reclaiming the story,” he said simply. Your face must have given away your confusion because he ended up elaborating. “Traditionally, it's white guys who get to decide how the story guys and what stories get told. Exclusively using a cast of color, save for King George the III who's an outlier anyway and only there because it's funny, is the best way to take back American history for people of color. It's the ultimate way of reclamation of the narrative.”
You nodded thoughtfully, the reasoning you never liked history coming front and center. It had always been about white men claiming power and being in charge and fighting for power. History as a story was compelling but also it got tiring to read about white men exclusively. And then the Schuyler Sisters number came front and center. “Isn't the Schuyler Sisters a reclaiming itself, too? You so rarely hear about the women of that time era and here, the Schuyler sisters are given motivations and personality beyond the usual motivation of 'I want a husband and a few kids' that are given to women of that time era. I mean, Angelica even says she's looking for a mind at work – that she wants a mental challenge.”
There was an excited look on his face – a look that told you that he was definitely pleased you'd put something together. Once again, you weren't certain if you liked it or not. “You know, Hamilton's story is craddled by his wife. She fought to preserve his legacy, making sure that none of his writings went into obscurity. None of this would exist without her. So yeah, you're right: it's a reclaimation of what women were capable of doing in that particular era.”
Now that was an empowering statement you could get behind. It actually made you curious about the history behind the musical – a feat not easy to do. “Well, I normally really don't care to learn about colonial history... for obvious reasons,” you said, grinning when he laughed, “but what you have here seems interesting. And worth learning about. Though... I have to ask. Why rap? You could've chosen any genre but... you went with rap with R&B and some soul thrown in.”
“You sound like an interviewer,” he commented, causing your cheeks to heat up again.
“I mean, I'm just fascinated with the artistic process,” you stumbled out. “I did major in English, so the process behind the writing and the meaning of the text is kind of fascinating. Almost close to what I wrote my thesis on.”
“Oh? What did you write your thesis on?”
Suddenly you realized that you'd never really had a conversation of this caliber with a guy outside a classroom. You regretted tuning him out last time he spoke to you and wondered if he was spilling this kind of intelligence last time. “Uh, on representation in fiction. How what we see in books can shape our world view. How seeing only white bodies on screen can lead to the dehumanization of kids of color and affect their self esteem. Sort of written out of spite, honestly.”
“That honestly sounds like something I'd love to read,” he said with an easy going grin that made you melt. “But I did sort of side step your question. I think the main reason I chose rap is because it fits. Rap itself is the music of a revolution so it just works.” You nodded slowly as he checked his watch and your heart sank a bit – were you boring him? “Fuck. We're going to have finish this tour later. I gotta go to rehearsals. Would like you to join me?”
And just like that the quick feeling insecurity fled. “I'd love to.”
This time, you got to see them rehearse “The Battle of Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down)” according to the sheet music on the piano. According to Lin, the guy at the piano playing it was named Alex Lacamoire, but Lin seemed to refer to the man exclusively as “Lac”. It was the same with the man who was playing King George the III – you recognized him from Glee as Jonathan Groff, but Lin exclusively referred to the man as “Groffsauce”. It was definitely a pattern with him, calling people by nicknames. You wondered if he had a nickname for you yet. Hopefully it wasn't the childish nickname your Aunt Jasmine insisted on calling you ever since she heard your father call you that.
Once again, the music and cast stunned you at how incredibly well thought out and intricate it was. It felt almost empowering in a way you couldn't quite pin down yet. You were certain once you got to see it all the way through, you were going to leave a change woman. Just watching all sorts of different people up on stage playing revolutionaries felt like something you'd never seen before. It made you impatient for August sixth to arrive.
Pippa was more than excited herself. It was like a reminder that everything in this moment was merely temporary and you suddenly realized the point of splurging all that money on yourself: because nothing was promised. So why not? And the more you immersed yourself into the city, the more grounded in the moment you felt. The more it was obvious you were watching history unfold in front of you with each rehearsal you attended. By the time the MET experience rolled around, you felt more than a little out of body. You chalked it up to the fact you hadn't used your phone or a laptop in ages – everything felt hyperreal.
Entering the MET was grounded even more in reality as you realized you were wearing a red ballgown and designer heels with over a hundred dollars on your face alone. It felt like you had walked from your normal life into a scene from a movie. It didn't feel like you because the day to day you didn't wear bright red lipstick and certainly didn't get their hair done at a salon before going to a fancy opera. It was surreal enough to be sit in a seat that had you less than two rows away from the stage right in the middle. And these actors weren't just good – they were amazing. You had never witnessed anything of its caliber, really.
It took you until intermission that you realized you'd fallen in love with theater in a way that you hadn't been before. As for the cause, you weren't certain. You'll chalk it up to the fact the food was phenomenal.

Select One Of The 5 Best Hosting Services For Your Website
When a website has been built exactly as specified what could possibly go wrong? It’s further assumed that the product the website promotes should draw large amounts of traffic. Yet its expectations somehow fall short. There are a few reasons that could cause that to happen. A common one is a performance issue that you can trace back to the web hosting service. The website owner pays a big price when the hosting doesn’t do what it should. For example, when it cannot deliver adequate page loading speeds. Or when it doesn’t handle the information capacity a website requires.  Also, when it’s not reliable and/or offers substandard support. It’s no secret that few website owners understand the impact a hosting service can have on a website’s performance. There are plenty of hosting services that would like the opportunity to serve you. Some are better than others in terms of the services they provide. Here are 5 sure winners. SiteGround SiteGround is highly reliable, performance optimised and secured hosting platform with nearly perfect 99.99% Uptime. They are in the web hosting business for 13+ years with a global operation supported by five data centres located on three continents. They offer handy features to enhance Designers and Developers workflow like automatic WordPress updates, WP-CLI, Drush, SSH, FTP and staging for WordPress and Joomla. Their in-house and proactive server monitoring system helps to nip problems in the bud, without having to go through a fire drill when a server disruption occurs. When a server disruption takes place, it’s immediately addressed and fixed. Also, their own backup system creates copies with minimal resource usage which allows rapid restore in times of need. It seems that almost every week companies are a victim of security breaches. However SiteGround has gone the extra mile in producing innovative measures to  protect their clients. Each account on SiteGround’s shared hosting platform is protected in critical situations via account isolation through a chroot environment. SG Site Scanner is another tool crafted by SiteGround and powered by Sucuri. It detects and warns you in the case of a malware issue. Their support is very fast and knowledgeable in questions that go beyond hosting. All that is noticed by WordPress.org where they officially recommend SiteGround as one of the brightest hosting providers. A2 Hosting A2 Hosting’s brand is centered around speed and performance. Today’s website users barely tolerate moderate page loading times. They quickly go elsewhere when a site’s page loads take more than a few seconds. This premier web hosting service lets you put behind you whatever problems you may have experienced with website server speed or performance. You have multiple server options open to you as well; one or more of which should admirably address your needs. They include Cloud VPS hosting and managed VPS hosting. Select a private server option if that will best suit your needs, or opt for a managed or unmanaged dedicated server. Whatever your choice, you’ll be pleasantly rewarded with page loading that is not only fast, but “screaming fast”; and A2 Hosting can offer something even faster. Their Turbo server and SwiftServer capabilities can produce page loading speeds that exceed what most hosting services provide by a factor of 20! 99.9+% uptime is routine, plus you can expect to receive speedy around-the-clock support 24/7/365. WordPress VIP Website hosting fee structures that are subject to change with changes in website traffic or capacity can sometimes create unanticipated problems for the website owners. The WordPress VIP team believes that owners should not be penalized for running a successful website by being required to pay more due to increasing web traffic or a need for more capacity. Their flat fee structure lets you avoid these issues. WordPress VIP also provides other helpful services. GlowHost If you’ve outgrown the limits of your present shared hosting plan, and your hosting service has recommended upgrading to a managed VPS plan, a better solution might be to consider GlowHost as a replacement. Their Elastic Sites Plan (actually 3 different plans), provides the dedicated resources you require, it’s reliable, and from your perspective, it’s just as easy to manage as is a VPS service. Pagely – Premium WordPress Hosting Solutions Pagely’s premium Managed Hosting service caters exclusively to large WordPress sites and is a solid solution for publishers, universities, and enterprise level companies. Pagely is a market leader in speed, scalability, & security, and as a top-tier host they provide tech-focused support plus their own security suite, CDN, and caching system. Fully revenue funded, with no outside investors to answer to, their team’s first priority is always the customer. Follow These Tips for Choosing a Web Hosting Service One or more of the 5 hosting services discussed here should more than meet your needs. Making a wrong choice on your part is highly unlikely; but by following these few tips, you should find it easier to choose among 2 or more solid candidates. * The first thing you should do is to explain to yourself what your website does, what its purpose is, and the type of website it is. A hobby website, or a blog or personal site, would typically have quite different hosting needs than a company site or an online store. * Where is your website heading; or where do you want it to go? If it will grow because your business is expanding and you’re getting more and more traffic and customers every day, you might eventually find yourself having to change hosting options or services. Keep this in mind as you choose a host. * Pay close attention to what a potential host says about its customer service. Being able to rely on a knowledgeable and highly responsive support team is especially important if down-time or technical issues could have an adverse impact on the service you’re providing to your own clients or customers. * Read customer and professional reviews. They can often give you a good picture of the pros and cons involved in selecting a web host. Be on the lookout for issues users may have had with a host’s customer support team. * Don’t make price your key factor in making your choice. The cheapest price may be enticing, but you could end up depending on slow or unreliable servers, substandard customer support, or having to share time with unprofessional, resource-hogging websites. * As distasteful as it sounds, you should make a point of reading a web hosting service’s Terms of Service. Don’t simply scroll to the bottom and place a checkmark in the box to indicate your agreement. See what the host’s refund and upgrade policies are. * Don’t sign up for any hosting service that doesn’t have a clearly spelled out backup plan. A disruption in service can be annoying, but a permanent loss of data or of your website is far worse. * If security features are not spelled out, you should ask about them. Those things happen, and you want to make sure any private information you have about your customers and their transactions will always be kept safe. Summarizing These 5 hosting services are the best that money can buy. At least one of them, and probably more, should fully meet your needs; both now and in the future. Each offers superb customer service, or they wouldn’t be on the list. We still suggest checking out the reviews before you make your final choice. TWD Fandom, TWD Zone needs your help
Calling all TWDZone members and visitors! Over the past year, TWD Zone has increased its membership by 69% . We’ve been able to share some great intel, even line by line dialogue for critical scenes in episodes including 6.15, 6.16 with the Lucille lineup, 7.01 and 7.10 this year. We've spoiled every episode, plus built a nurturing community where our members enjoy talking spoilers, theories, death predictions, and the pros and cons of staying with the comics. We also have comics and coverage of FTWD in addition to many other shows. We’ve speculated as to whether Andrew Lincoln gets paid every time he used the word “brilliant” to describe an episode :D  and whether there is anything or anyone Daryl Dixon isn't shipped with (maybe a pineapple?). We've enjoyed sharing our spoilers with TWD fandom since October 2015.
In order to keep these conversations going and the information coming, we need your help.
The Zone's administrators and staff work hard to keep the site glitch, ad and troll free so members can easily navigate and enjoy the community. In order to do that, we rely on software to keep spammers and trolls out and exhaust resources to ensure the site is running efficiently, around the clock.
As the site has grown, this has become more difficult as most of what is purchased for the site is based on our member count. As more people have joined us, the prices have gone up beyond the donations coming from members.
We've gone ad-free, added software tools and other components which keep our sources safe from discovery and harm. We have terrific legal counsel who keeps us continuing to operate and posting spoilers but that expertise doesn't come cheap. We, unlike other spoiler sites, have never been subject to an AMC takedown order or disruption of our accounts, despite our posting the incredibly detailed spoilers we have shared with the fandom. A year ago, TWD Zone had the only confirmed spoilers for the Lucille line scene with line by line dialogue, background and character reactions.
We also take huge personal risks to provide spoilers to the fandom for each episode.  We plan to keep the spoilers coming in season 7 and beyond! Like all spoiler sites, we have had to fight some internet jerks who have taken our spoilers, and posted them uncredited as their own, making $ off of YouTube from ad revenue. One month of that YouTube ad money could keep the site going for 4 months.
We’re asking for those who enjoy the site community and our spoilers to consider donating to help us keep things running smoothly and ad- free.
TWD Zone members who donate are a small but generous group, whose sponsorship has kept the site operating on a tight but manageable budget for 18 months now. We are grateful for their continued support.
We had hoped to be able to move to another software platform by now, but donations have not made that possible at this time, despite the huge growth we have achieved and our many successes.
Most fans do not know that even on a "free forum site" platform there are always costs involved and the sites are never truly "free". We have to buy data, renew our domain licenses, buy licenses to host photos (Photobucket), pay to provide an ad-free community, purchase annual licenses for screening and other tools which keep out the notorious fandom trolls who always try to sneak in. We find and firmly block those folks because we do not want them disrupting discussions, sowing hate and discord and ruining TWD Zone as they have ruined so many other once-great sites. We are not about to let that happen, no worries.
TWD Zone remains a Carol and Caryl safe-haven community and always will.
We are good stewards with your $ donations- two administrators must agree on how every penny is spent before anything is bought or licensed. Your gifts always go only to pay the site operating costs. No one is making money off the fandom for personal gain.
To be clear, we aren’t asking for your first born (unless you think your first born would be a good addition to our staff? Then we should talk) – $5, 20, 50 dollars…whatever you’re comfortable with. Everything done on the site is a labor of love. No one on staff is making money off of this, and all staff members have found ways to make the site a priority in addition to the very real life needs outside of fandom.
If you enjoy the site and want to see it flourish, if you appreciate having a place to go for TWD discussion and spoilers which is drama and hate free, please consider supporting us.
We have a PayPal link on the site, but some members have asked if they can send personal checks, money orders or gift cards if they are more comfortable with that. Sure, if that works for you, we will make it work for Zone.
We want to stay open - the site was always built as a community which would be self-sustaining financially with regular member support. We have a class of VIP members who get a special group designation as those who support our community. Some of our sponsors have wanted to remain anonymous on the site, and we are also happy to keep their gifting hidden as they prefer. We have a class of VIP members who get a special group designation as those who support our community. Some of our sponsors have wanted to remain anonymous on the site, and we are also happy to keep their gifting hidden as they prefer.   So please consider becoming a TWD Zone sponsor and VIP member today! Arrange the chairs in two or more lines so the students sit facing one other person. If possible put a line of tables in between to make the setup more realistic. Depending on how well your students know each other and your target language , they can either use their real identities or invent a person to play. Students can either keep their own card, or to make things more interesting, put all the cards in a hat and draw a random person. If students used invented people, they can give their impressions of personality, and see if the adjectives they use match what was written on the card. Plus, they can say who they think is the best match for them as a friend, based on hobbies, personality, likes and dislikes. If you wish, they could also do the above as a written activity, as a message to a friend describing how the speed dating went. This is a particularly good idea when your target language is reported speech.

How Much Money Can You Make From a Travel Blog?
If you’re thinking about learning how to start a travel blog then one of the first questions you probably have is “How much money can I make from travel blogging?”
Your second question will probably be “Is there still room for new blogs to earn money, or is the market too saturated?” And lastly you’re probably thinking “How do I start a travel blog from scratch?”
In this article I’m going to answer these questions and many more so that aspiring bloggers can get a good idea of what’s involved!
How Much Money Can a Travel Blog Make?
Let’s get right into it. The sky is the limit when it comes to blog earnings, but the bloggers who make the most typically have a very diversified set of income streams.
Once established, your travel blog itself may earn $3,000 – $10,000 / month, but if you’ve broadened your horizons and started working on other income streams like freelance writing, content creation, social media management and consulting services, you can double or triple this figure.
It’s probably not fair for me to just say “you can make ____” without having any real examples.
Caz & Craig earn over 6 figures/year from their amazing family travel blog yTravelBlog.com.
Tim Leffel earns more than 6 figures/year from his diverse set of income streams including excellent books, 5 websites and a successful marketing company.
Johnny Ward of OneStep4Ward.com earns upwards of $30,000 / month from his websites.
This blog that you’re reading makes over $100,000 / year and is growing every year.
Of course, I’m not just giving up these bloggers’ income after they told me in confidence, each of these bloggers have been honest and transparent enough to publish their earnings online at some point during their career.
They did that for the same reason that I’m writing this post. To show people that blogging really is a reliable source of income, and to inspire you to start a blog of your own.
There are probably thousands of travel blogs online earning at least $3,000 / month. I believe that anyone who sticks with it and works at it for a year or two, can make this amount.
How Long Does it Take To Start Earning Money From Blogging?
This is a very hard question to answer. We started earning an income after about a year of blogging, but we weren’t going at it very hard for the first 6 months.
We would go on the blog every month or so, add an article and a few pictures and that was about it.
If you were to start a travel blog today and work really hard at it (around 5 focused hours/day), then there’s no reason that you couldn’t start earning around $500 / month from it after 6 months. For travellers, that’s a pretty good chunk of change!
After a year you could be earning $1000 – $1500 / month and after two or three years, if you kept at it and constantly marketed yourself, you could earn $5,000 / month or more.
Of course these numbers would completely vary depending on your individual hustle, your focus on on-page and off-page SEO, and your overall strategy, but they should give you a rough idea of income.
Luckily, if you use our free 10-minute guide to start your blog today, you’ll get our epic Beginner Blogger Course and 200-page blogging eBook for free.
We didn’t have a resource like this when we started blogging, but if we did I think we could have earned more money a lot sooner. Check it out and see what you think.

Is The Market Too Saturated To Start a Blog Today?
Absolutely not.
Yes, there are way more blogs online today than there were 5 years ago when we started, but there were also fewer people reading travel blogs and fewer companies willing to work with us.
The market is saturated with travel blogs, but it is also saturated with opportunity.
These days though, you need to be a niche website. You can’t simply be a “travel blog”.
You’ll need to be more than that, such as a “couple living in a van, travelling around the USA”, or “a travel blog all about Slovenia”, or “a vegan female traveller who hikes around the world”.
You get the point!
Pick a niche, become an authority, and stand out from the crowd. If you aren’t sure about a travel blog name yet, it doesn’t matter. You can still start your blog today and come up with a name later on.
Don’t let competition in the industry stop you from starting a blog. It’s the best thing we ever did and we honestly believe that there is enough money and brand partnerships available to go around.
In order to attract your potential partners, your travel blog posts need to be perfectly polished in terms of grammar, spelling, and overall writing style.
The best place to seek professional content editors and creators are essay writing services. Besides, such platforms like EssayPro essay writing services can detect and remove plagiarism, which is not a merely university issue. Another option is Copyscape.
Other than that, don’t forget to add nice photos to your posts. We use and recommend Shutterstock for royalty-free media.
How Do Blogs Earn Money?
I’ve written about this extensively in my post: How & When To Monetize Your Travel Blog, but I’ll quickly run over the basics again here:
Sponsored Content: Most blogs start this way. A company basically contacts you via email (or you reach out to them) and ask you to write a review about their product or brand. They pay for this review and the link to their site (between $200 – $750 USD / article).
Affiliate Sales: Instead of getting paid for the link, a better way to arrange payment is via commission. Affiliate marketing is when you link to a product or service from your blog and when one of your readers makes a purchase through your link, the company tracks it and sends you a percentage of the sale.
eBooks & Product Sales: Pretty self-explanatory. You write a book or create a product and sell it to your blog readers.
Social Media & Blog Management: You run a company’s social media (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram) or blog (creating content) and get paid for it.
In content advertising: Relevant ads are placed around your blog, when someone clicks or purchases, you get paid. Mediavine is a popular company to go through for travel bloggers. Click here to learn more about in-content ads.
Twitter Chats: Once you have a lot of Twitter followers, brands will contact you to host their Twitter chat. These typically pay around $300 each and last 1 hour.
Sponsored Social Sharing: A brand will contact you and ask you to share their brand or product on your social media. Depending on your numbers, these can be charged at around $200 / share.
Brand Ambassadorships: A brand asks you to continuously use their product/service and write about it, and they pay you a monthly salary.
Press Trips: A tourism board or tour company invites you to their country to write about your experiences. They do this because your blog has large numbers and they want to introduce your readers to their tour or destination. The press trip typically includes flights, all transport, food, travel, and entertainment for the duration of the trip and you can charge for your services on top of this (upwards of $10,000).
Instagram Takeovers: This is where you take over the Instagram account and Instagram stories of a tourism board or brand and document your day or your use of the product (whatever is agreed to). You’ll be paid for your time, and it’s also a good way to get your name out there.
Something that hasn’t been thought of yet: The key to being a successful blogger is to be creative. There are a ton of bloggers coming up with new income streams every day. Step out of the box and try something new.
Now You Know How Much Travel Bloggers Make
So, what are you waiting for?
Blogging can be a great source of income. The only regret we have about starting this travel blog is not doing it earlier. We love the job. We love sharing our travel experiences and knowledge with hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
We love helping new companies and up-and-coming destinations promote themselves. We enjoy connecting with our readers and bringing travel into our working life.
It’s truly the ultimate job, and now that you know that you can earn as much as $30,000 / month from it, it’s time to learn how to start a travel blog today.
