Your Teen’s Wisdom Teeth Need to Come Out: What You Should Know

Ever wondered why wisdom teeth are called wisdom teeth? They’re called that because they normally come in between ages 17-21—when young people are old enough to have gained some “wisdom” in life. Some teens and young adults get lucky and have no difficulties when these teeth come in. But sometimes the teeth come in impacted, meaning they have no room to grow.

Impacted isn’t always bad. I still have all four of my impacted teeth, and my dentist tole me they’re high up enough in my jaw that they can stay in. That is, unless they do become a problem.

Why they might need to be removed

Your teen may need his or her impacted wisdom tooth/teeth pulled if he or she is experiencing:

Pain

Infection

Damage to a nearby tooth

A cyst around the wisdom tooth develops

Surrounding bone is damaged

Complications with braces or other orthodontic procedures

What to expect during the procedure

You can help your teen’s nerves prior to the procedure by giving them a heads up on what to expect. Explain that the dentist or oral surgeon may use one of three types of anesthesia. The type used will depend on how complex the removal will be. The dentist will use one of the following:

Local anesthesia. This involves injections near the wisdom teeth. Teens who’ve never had local anesthesia before may be nervous. Life Update: Ted Turns Two/Eighty

Ted is two today, which means that I must have entered some sort of space-time vortex since giving birth to him because I can genuinely say, without a hint of over-exaggeration, that it seems like only last month when I bought him home from the hospital.

I can still remember the argument that was happening in the hospital reception when I arrived to book in for my c-section, I can still feel the sting of the Clexane injections I was given post-operation. (The anti-clotting Clexane injections were, for me, one of the worst parts of c-section recovery. Self-administering injections when you’re also trying to work out how to breastfeed a hard-gummed, furiously hungry newborn is just no fun.)

But here we are, two years down the line, and young Master Ted can say “bum bum”, “poo poo” and quite a few other useful words and phrases. To me he still looks just like a baby – still has the fine, wispy hair, the round face, the funny little walk – but to everyone else I’m pretty sure he would be classified as a Proper Little Boy.

I mean he puts his feet up on the footstool to relax, for goodness’ sake. When he’s pacing he jams his hands in his pockets, he strokes his chin when he’s thinking; he’s one step away from smoking a pipe and wearing a monocle. He’s two going on eighty!

And I don’t like the idea of being without babies. Being a “person with babies”, or “a person with very small children” has been something of a comfort blanket for the past few years. It’s allowed me an excuse for always being completely exhausted, for never going out, for cancelling things and limiting my travel and taking long afternoon naps. What’s my excuse now? I’m still knackered (perhaps more so), I still shudder at the idea of going out out and spending time away from home becomes less appealing as the months pass, not more.

It’s a funny old thing, watching kids grow – a privilege, a joy, a source of great amusement and a definite constant reminder of good fortune. (I mean, two kids when you thought you’d have none; what could be a luckier win?) But at the same time there’s a sadness when each stage passes, there’s a sort of low-key panic when a familiar little quirk or habit suddenly ceases to exist and is lost forever in a jumble of confused memories and discoloured bottle teats. When you realise that they won’t ever cling to you like a monkey again when you climb the stairs, when it dawns on you one morning that someday you won’t need to pour their cereal or butter their toast. Nobody really wants an eternal (highly-dependent) infant but at the same time, it’s nice to be needed. To be put on that pedestal that makes you provider, protector and educator – a kind of demigod.

I’m convinced now that parenthood is mainly just enduring the constant swing from one emotional extreme to the other, multiple times a day, and then wondering whether everyone else is experiencing the same thing. In the space of five minutes I can feel pure, unadulterated elation, wondering how life could possibly get any better and thanking the stars for my good fortune and the next I can be completely flying off the handle, dealing with two consecutive screaming breakdowns, thinking about how the time I had my wisdom tooth sawn in half, filed down to the root and then sewn back under my gum flap was actually less painful than dealing with a particularly difficult bedtime session.

Babies are hard enough, but add in the calculated whining and moaning of a three year old on a mission to win the Battle Of Wills and you find yourself hiding in the airing cupboard silently banging your forehead on the side of the water tank. Clonk. Clonk. Give me strength.

Mind you, with the whining comes comedy of such unintentional brilliance it should be regularly documented for posterity. Angelica has become obsessed with Fairytale Role-Play. Mostly Cindarella – she is, of course, Cinders, even though I try to be very modern and encourage her to be the Handsome Prince (“but his looks don’t matter! Let’s call him the Funny and Kind Prince!”) or the Evil Step-Mother (“maybe she’s just really tired and sick of doing all the cleaning herself, let’s give her a break”). So I spend a lot of time riding around on a hobby horse, trying imaginary glass slippers on imaginary suitors (male and female) whilst Angelica sits on the sofa shouting “me! Me, me Handsome Prince! Over here, my foot will fit the slipper!”

I put in lots of time doing role-play and lots of time being a sort of toilet companion, sitting bowl-side and encouraging bowel movements to come forth whilst Angelica gives me a running commentary and progress report.

“It’s going to be stinky Mummy, I can tell. Here it comes, no that was a bottom burp! Here it comes – no a bottom burp again Mummy! You need to be patient. This might take all week.” Indeed.

Mr AMR and I have, with a sort of silent agreement, slipped into alternating the morning duties. So one day I’ll get up with Ted, who wakes up about seventy billion hours before sunrise, and the next morning Mr AMR will. Now I hate this arrangement, because getting up on your own, in the dark, when you haven’t had enough sleep, is really, really depressing. I don’t even like it in the summer. The thing I hate most about it is that it makes me resentful. Yes, I could spin things around and marvel at how I get to spend an extra couple of hours with my cherubs, alone, but at the same time, getting to spend an extra couple of hours in the bed – alone – sounds pretty good. No responsibility, no noise, those extra hours are the best quality of sleep you can ever have. If you could bottle the feeling that is “someone else having full resposnibility for your children whilst you half-listen in a snoozy, in-and-out-of-sleep sort of way” then you’d be a billionnaire. Because knowing that they are safe, that they are happy, but that someone else is temporarily doing everything…is golden. Bloody hell.

I taunted the Big Freeze and then it came; we’ve been more or less snowed in since Friday morning, with a particularly cold night icing things over and sealing the deal. Mr AMR has managed to get out – nothing can thwart Friday Fish n Chips – but there’s no way I’m skidding up the hill just to fetch a pail of water. Apparently my car is four wheel drive (who knew?!) but I’m still not setting out on the road to disaster; we have frozen croissants and Mint Magnums, what else do you need for crying out loud?

Right, off to try and make Ted a dinosaur cake for his birthday. If the results are particularly bad then I’ll show you a picture for your amusement. I’m going to fashion the legs and neck from chopped up chocolate mini rolls and make the head out of a cupcake – what could possibly go wrong?

My Diagnosis

My diagnosis was one of the scariest moments of my life. I remember everything about that day. The day is pretty much stuck as freeze frame images in my brain. When you hear you have cancer you automatically think, “ will I die?” Lucky for me, it wouldn’t be that type of fight.

First and foremost I want to speak to the importance of regular check-ups and doctors visits. I , like most men did not frequently visit my doctor or dentist. For me it was about healthy eating and frequent exercise. I believed that as long as I did those things there was no need to go to the doctor. When I was younger I also didn’t have medical insurance, so check ups were not even something on my radar. Unfortunately as I got older i kept the same habits even though I was able to obtain affordable coverage. With that said, make sure you take check-ups seriously.

I honestly thought none of this could happen to me. I was a track athlete in college (albeit a frequently hurt one), I had completed two half marathons, and I am a vegetarian.

Back to my diagnosis. I originally started by experiencing two things, pain in my front teeth and shifting of my teeth. The pain was not overwhelming, instead it was more of a dull pain similar to a toothache. I started to notice the shift about 2 months after the pain started. The shift was strange. It made one of my teeth appear to be longer than the other. I am someone who was born with two big front “buck” teeth so the slightest shift was very noticeable. At first I could slightly tell and didn’t think anything of it. I never got my wisdom teeth removed so i figured they were pushing my teeth into each other. As i started to keep putting off appointments, I noticed the shift becoming worse and worse. My tooth had began to shift about a full centimeter. After finally getting some time away from my job, I decided to schedule a doctors visit.

I scheduled the appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed and inquire about braces. When i walked in, the first thing i did was show the dentist the shift and explain the pain. She agreed that it may be my wisdom teeth shifting so she started an X-ray. After the X-ray the dentist sat me down and began a cold test. The cold test was a metal rod that had this chilling fluid on it. The dentist proceeded to test each one of my teeth, to try to see if something was rotten. After testing about 3 teeth, she came to the three teeth closes to the front of my mouth. I did not give any type of response when she placed the metal rod on those teeth. She must have tried for 5 minutes to get a response, and nothing happened. This was the first sign.

I could now tell she was worried. She said to me that those three teeth had died. They had no feeling. Next she started feeling the roof of my mouth. This is when she made the discovery. She asked me, “ do you feel this lump behind your front teeth.” I honestly hadn’t felt any type of lump. She began to explain to me that the lump was pretty significant in size and it was causing the shift in my teeth

She then showed me the X-ray and told me the lump had eaten away at the bone connecting those dead teeth. After about 20 minutes of more tests and X-rays she directed me to another dentist with more experience. When i asked her what she thought it could be, she said it could be just a cyst that needed to be drained. This was the first time I was told it was NOT cancer.I left that office and went to the next dentist, in my gut something was telling me she was wrong.

At dentist number 2 things were different. This dentist was older, and so was his practice. He introduced himself as semi-retired and taking very few new patients. We instantly got to work dissecting the lump. The dentist laid me back and gave me some numbing medicine. He was going to need to try and burst the cyst. He tried hard to drain it out. The process of getting his tools under my gums was pretty painful. I could feel him trying to peel under them to drain the lump. The problem was there was nothing to drain. The lump was hard as a rock. I could tell he was too was worried. He then explained to me that he would like to do a biopsy. The biopsy was easy, he cut the lump open and took a tissue sample. The sample was about the size of a dime. They told me it would take about two weeks. For yet another time I was told, “ Do not worry you are too young and healthy for it to be cancer. You don’t drink or do drugs so you will be fine.”

The next two weeks were nerve racking. I was Googling everything I could to find a diagnosis. I looked at pictures of oral cancer and I didn’t have any of the symptoms. My wife told me to stop looking stuff up, I was only going to make it worse on myself. About 5 days after the biopsy the dentist called me in to see him. I was relieved to finally move on from everything. That day my wife had a doctors appointment at the same time so I brought my 2 year old son with me.

I can remember how strange it felt going to get my results. It felt like everyone already knew and I was walking the plank on a pirate ship. As soon as I sat down there was about 4 dental assistants in the room. I remember feeling uncomfortable. Then i thought maybe they were there to play with my son. I sat him on my lap and the Dentist walked in. He looked me square in the eye and said, “ Well you have cancer.” Just that simple, no apology, no warm up, no good news/ bad news sandwich, absolutely nothing- it was a straight diagnosis. Everything literally went slow motion. All i could say was, “ What, What, What, What, and more What?” All the dental assistants were emotional. The girl who did the biopsy had started to cry. All i could think of was the fact that I had my boy in my lap, and that doctors appointment my wife had- was to confirm her pregnancy. I would be the father of another boy in 5 months from that day.

I wanted to go home. I wanted to wake up. I wanted to just be a boy again. I wasn’t ready for it. I didn’t cry, i was too much in shock to cry. The dentist was speaking but it all was Charlie Browns teacher. The one thing I did manage to hear, was the word Malignant. That was huge. He told me that it would not spread, it would not kill me. Suddenly I felt a sense of calm. He told me that Ameloblastoma had a very low possibility of spreading to other parts of the body. It had a VERY low probability to take my life. I remember saying, “ Well ok this will be life altering and not life threatening- that is a blessing.” The dentist agreed. He then gave me a referral to University of Michigan Dentistry.

I still was a wreck. The first person I called was my wife. She took it like a champ, she is the strongest person I know. She just asked me if I was ready to fight with her. She gave me strength, I would see her later that day. My mom took it the worst. I am her only child, and at most turns I have tried to make good choices and have came out ok. She cried hard. She did not take it well. My Dad wasn’t shook, he never is. In his calm corporate manor he made me recount the interaction with the Dentist. He wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to die. He then would begin to research everything he could on Ameloblastoma.

No one knows how Ameloblastoma forms or why someone gets it. Some believe it is from under-developed teeth. However, there is not a clear reason as to why or how it forms. If left untreated depending on your location you can have problems with your sinus or problems with brain. I was lucky. My tumor was located in the front of my mouth. It would not affect my brain, only danger would be contamination of my sinus.

My doctors at U of M are the best. The first day I walked in as a referral, I felt right at home. Everyone from the receptionist to the head surgeon was amazing. My first day there I met the head surgeon in the Maxiillery department. I met every single person who would ever touch my file. All the way to the top, that was huge it made me feel important. Over the next 3 weeks I would undergo CAT Scans and plenty of other tests. During this time I met my primary dentist Dr. Munz. She may be the nicest person I have met in my entire 32 years of life. She would counsel me on my surgery and the different obturators that I will have. I will speak more about the obturators later. After my 3 weeks, I was told exactly what would happen. I would be losing 6-8 teeth, all of the cartilage, bone, and tissue behind my top lip, and a decent chunk of the roof of my mouth. The surgery would be life changing, But not life threatening. Thank God!

So I’ve been having a tough time for the last few months with wisdom teeth extractions. The two bottom teeth had come in sideways and were impacted so I decided to get them both removed after having a small infection to avoid more problems down the line. I knew it would be sore and unpleasant but I thought it would be better to deal with it now and save myself problems in the future.

My local dentist referred me to a clinic in the city centre to do the extractions and the first one was done way back in September. After you have an extraction done, it’s normal for the pain and swelling to become worse over the first few days before reducing again as it heals. It’s difficult to eat food because of the pain of moving or putting pressure on your mouth, but also because your jaw muscle is strained and it’s only possible to open your mouth a little bit. Like all wounds, it’s also possible to have infections including something called ‘dry socket’ which is essentially when the blood clot protecting the wound comes away and the nerve is exposed.

For the first week after the first tooth was removed, my mouth was very sore but did feel like it was incrementally improving. I had read about pain and the dry socket infection in my aftercare notes and online but the overall advice seemed to be “everybody is different” and I didn’t really know if my experience was normal or not. I had read that dry socket was excruciatingly painful shooting pain which seemed way more extreme than what I was experiencing. By the end of the second week, I had a couple of days where the pain was much better followed by one where it was worse than ever before, so I called the clinic who told me to come back in to check it out. Of course, I had the dry socket infection all this time! The dentist cleaned out the wound and packed it with a weird brown dressing which had a sort of hairy texture and smelled and tasted strongly of cloves. The pain relief was immediate and the wound started healing properly after that.

Things were looking good by the end of October when it was time for the second extraction. The dentist did mention that this one looked like it was in a potentially more difficult position than the first but I think it is hard to know for sure until you get started with the extraction. One of the roots of the tooth was particularly difficult to remove and part of the inner edge of my jaw bone got broken with the pushing and pressure trying to get it out, although the dentist decided to leave it in place in the hope that it would heal up alright.

At least this time around I had more of an idea what to expect from the recovery. Things seemed good and by Thursday I was hardly taking any painkillers (the extraction had been on the Monday) and I went back to work on Friday, but late Friday night I suddenly started having excruciating pain up the whole left side of my face and I felt sure the dreaded dry socket had returned. The clinic where the tooth was extracted was closed at the weekend but I called my normal dentist as soon as they opened and managed to get an appointment on Saturday morning. I was kinda disappointed that he didn’t put a dressing in since that had helped me so much before but instead he prescribed 5 days worth of antibiotics and a mouthwash and I just hoped that would sort it out quickly.

Although the antibiotics helped a little, I was still in pain at the start of the week. I called my Mum who is a nurse and she advised to go back to the clinic who did the extraction so they could check it out. They cleaned the wound again and put a dressing in; the pain was immediately reduced to almost nothing which was such a massive relief. It was about 2 months since the first extraction and I was so fed up with the whole experience, the only good thing was that the teeth were out and it was almost over - or so I thought!

At work we’re right about to go into our mega busy Christmas period at where I work crazy hours and feel like I will never see the sun again (although it’s actually just 3 weeks). Remember that broken bit of jawbone? Well, last week I started to feel the jaggy edge inside my gum. I didn’t think it was urgent at first but within a couple of days it had erupted through the skin and was scratching the back of my tongue. So, back I went to the clinic on Friday afternoon to check it out.

The bone might only be fractured and not fully broken as the dentist wasn’t able to remove it entirely. Instead, she just had to cut into the gum (and scrape out all the healed tissue from the most recent extraction), push it back and use the drill to smooth down as much of the jaggy bone edge as possible. She sewed the whole thing up pretty thoroughly when she was done and threw in a pre-emptive dressing to try to avoid more infections. I must admit that I did have a tiny emotional breakdown while I was sitting waiting for the local anesthetic to kick in; the thought of going back to the start of the healing process was pretty unbearable, although I’m happy to report that doesn’t seem to be as bad as the initial extraction so far.

It’s possible that I might have to go back and have the exercise repeated if the bone continues to move but right now I’m just so hopeful that the whole thing will soon be over. I have felt so tired and run down over these last few months, dealing with pain and discomfort and even just not being able to have normal food (usually I love to eat!); I have so much sympathy for folk who have chronic conditions or disabilities that deal with issues like these as a way of life. I miss socialising and seeing a bunch of my pals too and can’t wait to have things back to normal as soon as I can. Hopefully I’m on the mend now.

Emotional Exhaustion

SO.. I’m not hearing anything from God. So I haven’t taken any actions or steps.. I’m not sure that I am in His will right now. This is so exhausting. When did life start to become so wearisome? I’m SO tired. I’ve overcome a lot of my demons fm my past... like just watching Intervention on tv brings tears to my eyes on certain ones because I so get it. I get what it feels like to be abandoned by your entire family. To feel that pain as a young woman. To struggle to let others too close to you now. To hate yourself.. everything about yourself, and you don’t even know why. Other people might compliment me sometimes or tell me nice things, but I dunno if I’ll ever be able to feel that way about myself.. I know what it is to feel like you’re never going to be good enough. To feel like you’ve messed up too much in life and no matter how hard you try, you’ll never get ahead, you’ll never be independent of your family again, & you’ll always just be a loser. Look how hard your parents worked so you could be successful & now look at you. A wasted investment. The girl that had so much promise but now everybody just looks at with pity. Some people will just never understand. People who haven’t been children of a broken home... I’m sorry, but you’ll never get it. People who haven’t felt the pain of abandonment...you’ll never get it. Hypothetically.. people who haven’t used prescription/drugs to get through certain times in their lives.. you’ll never understand the struggle. If you’ve never experienced real depression, don’t expect to even remotely understand. People who haven’t been drugged & raped by random guys or their friends’ scummy dirtbag nasty ass boyfriends.. it goes on and on, if you grew up in a normal family got married and have been a house wife/supporter most of your life & now you have an almost picture-perfect family and everything worked out for you, you will never have the hustle, fitness, wisdom, wealth, or success of a woman who grew up on the streets.. bc you just don’t have it in you.. you can try, but you can never do it like she can.. but you get the point.

Even if I’m nothing more than a total failure right now in the sense of my expectations for myself vs. where I’m at right now in life, I think all these things have made me a stronger person. Do I know my worth isn’t defined by my job, success/failures, or anything else? Absolutely. I learned that the really hard way... that was the worst ride of my life yet. What goes up, must come down. And coming down was fast and furious and hurt like a bitch. That job was my passion.. I loved the industry, the people, the company.. I just got lost. I let a breakup devastate me & leaned on prescription pills to help me throw myself into my work. I wanted to do everything there. I had so much go-go, so much passion, so much will to take that dept. and make it better in any way I could. There were so many things I never got to do or finish. I had a lot of plans for ways to make it be better.. my work was all I felt I had left until I healed fm that relationship, and I hated myself. A new guy came into my dept. shortly before our breakup & I didn’t realize it at the time but I was feeling alone & with him, the beverages, the fun, the food, it all flowed freely. It didn’t matter what I was, if I acted like I was 5 or was somehow annoying or whatever my ex didn’t like about who I was or what I wore or looked like or if I had a clump in my mascara or a tooth that wasn’t the same shade of white as the others or a little butt or a big butt.. I felt like he liked me no matter what. And at that time in my life, that really meant a lot. I have never been an alcoholic myself, but I had no business being in bars with a married co-worker. That wasn’t right & I wish I had known better at the time. Most of the time we were in a group but still.. I just saw him as my best friend. I didn’t know any different.. I was in my 20′s and super stupid. I went from being the most timely person in college to the worst when I worked with him.. had I not been taking an rx for add I would have been such a better employee there. It really does matter who you hang with. Another lesson I learned, the hard way. And that enabling people, doesn’t serve them well in the long run, either. That work/life balance matters. But anyways, that drug was the tool I used to hammer my life & my bank account straight into the ground. I lost everything and I truly believe it’s because I was a lost soul who felt so worthless, but also bc it changed who I was. It’s my fault for taking it. I wish I never had. People don’t realize it but these things mess w/your body too... you may not feel it at the time bc it numbs you, but give yourself a couple years and you’ll realize things are not right. And it’s all your fault. Your fault for being a total dumb ass.

Ok so whoops.. kinda went off track there. Thank you mother PMS b/c feelings - tonight. Holy cow. Ah the monthly joys, lol. Back to what I was saying though.. my mistakes, my failures, even though I’m still not back on my feet.. I’m a fighter. These heartaches make you more resilient. God pulls us through things. Being stressed out every day, will have to help me one day. Or kill me. One or the other lol. Maybe it makes you stronger for later down the road. B/c it keeps me close to Jesus in a way that is entirely uncomfortable. I long for the day when I can be comfortable in life and have a relationship with Him in a much different way. I don’t know what that is, but I’m looking forward to that day. I picture myself finally feeling like I can breathe, surrounded by clear blue skies with the perfect white fluffy clouds and surrounded by beautiful water.. and just taking that time to be with Him in a new & different way. I am grateful today, yes. But the kind of grateful you feel when God works miracles. When God answers prayers in ways we can never understand or comprehend. I know I’m romanticizing this and that's bad too but a girl’s gotta keep the hope somehow. Lol. Ask and ye shall receive. Knock and I will answer. Come to me all who are weary, and I will give you rest.

I know I should just shut up and be grateful to have a roof over my head, food to eat, clean water to drink, hot water in my shower, parents that are alive and healthy, for friendships, for a job (even if it is emotionally draining and makes me so tired I literally don’t do anything much outside of it), I get all that.. sometimes the fact that I know that makes it even worse. Like I fight myself because I have feelings that aren’t what they’re supposed to be. They’re not pretty. Like so many people are just so much better than me because they’re all like oh be grateful, isn’t this great in your life and this great in your life or say things in a way that is clearly meant to make a point to me-- like I get it. Ok I’m not stupid. In fact a lot of people underestimate me bc of the situation that I’m in and that’s entirely frustrating too. Just bc you got married early in life and had kids and yadda yadda and you think you understand me b/c you went through something similar? I’m sorry but that’s not possible b/c you were married and I’m not & never have been. Or you didn’t bust your balls through college. Whatever it is. So that makes the situation entirely different, doesn’t it? I don’t want to feel this way, but I just have days where it’s really hard to be grateful and not want more for myself, ok? To deny this would make me a complete fraud. Does that make me a bad person? To want more for myself? To want to be able to have my own family, to choose who I will have Thanksgiving & holidays with, instead of still even at the age of 31 doing what mom dad and step parents put together for me? To want to have my own family where all my parents can come visit me for a change? Where I can serve them. Does that make me a horrid person? To have that want makes me feel like I am, terrible. To want to be able to have my own life? To want to get out of this town and this job.. to be financially independent again, if I’m not married or actually with someone... how selfish of me. To think that I could have that is probably just stupid. I was stupid in my 20′s and the 30′s really aren’t looking much better... lol. This is just how it is today. Not every day. Some days are easier than others & when I pms it’s just like all my insecurities come at me full force. I’m over it. Guys this is something you’ll never understand. Because estrogen. Lol.

People don’t become resilient because everything has always worked out for their lives. It just doesn’t work like that & I get it. Wisdom isn’t handed over.. you have to go through some serious shit to obtain that. You have to make some terrible mistakes. You have to get your heart broken time and time again. And then? Again and again and again. Your life has to fall apart completely when you least expect it. And it’s so not easy. Everything comes with problems. Everything does. And the grass is never greener on the other side.

Now that I’m saved, I have dealt w/the guilt & shame of my past with the help of The Lord. He has given me the gift of eternal life. The greatest gift of all, to know that someday I will be in heaven with my Maker, where there will be no pain and no sorrow and where no one could ever love me more. Someday I will finally get to feel like I am at home. I’m blessed because I have the grace and mercy of my God, I have a forever Father, Friend, Love, Provider, Protector, everything I have ever needed and more --I now have In Him. And that gives me peace. In moments like these, it feels so good to know that. I’m an overcomer and I will keep fighting until it’s my time & He calls me home.

Now that I am older & can reflect back on things f/m my past, I can try to make better decisions in life. Now I can choose my own family for my future, people who choose me too. Outside of my parents and brother, I mean. People who have never left me. Everyone else I consider family or will come to, will be of my own free will and theirs too. Only that and nothing else. No more fake friends, no more fake family. Only real from here on out or nothing. I’m too old for anything else and I have no energy anymore.. so yeah, that’s that. Jesus take the wheel is my life anthem. Seriously. B/c I suck at life. Lol. So since I’m not getting anything from Him right now I’m just going to do what I can, whatever that is b/c there’s nothing bigger than Him and there’s no mountain He can’t move.. I just have to resist the devil and his lies, keep close to God, and keep my faith. Ya’ll it’s not as easy as it sounds but I am really trying. Even if I only post on here on my harder days.. at least I don’t affect anyone else this way & I get it out and get to move on. Tomorrow is another day.
