Don't you think it's funny cause actual canon gay characters in BL manga will say "I love you" but only the shounen bromance can spew out some of the most romantic shit akin to a 19th century poet writing a letter expressing his surpressed love for his lover 😭.....

I do think it's a little funny, yeah. But also, with shounen bromance, they're not really like...allowed to show the romance like BL so they gotta find work arounds. It's the same with chinese bromance dramas. You can clearly see that the couple is meant to be together, but because of censorship, they gotta show how they love each other and care for each other without saying "I love you". And sometimes saying the most romantic shit you've ever god damn heard in your life wrapped up in really waxing poetic words and phrases as well as using metaphors and symbolism that only the two of you will understand is part of that.

And don't get me wrong, I love it when couples say "I love you" to each other, I think "I love you" are some of the most powerful three words ever but like...do the BL couples show that they love each other? Because yeah, you can say it, but do you show it? I always think that actions speak louder than words so...maybe that's why shounen bromances hit different than BLs. Not saying that BLs are good because they are...it's just that they're two different genres so they gotta work with the genre they're given. BLs can outright say "I love you" while shounen bromance have to work around their genre to say the most romantic shit that sounds straight outta Shakespeare. It's just the genre hands they've been dealt. If that makes sense

I...cannot tell you.

As of right now, I currently don't have a job so I have a lot of time on my hands (and my sleep schedule is currently fucked to hell so...)

As for the ideas, I've always been a very creative kid. I've been creating stories since I was in kindergarten (maybe even younger) and also, my brain literally never shuts off. Ideas come to me from anywhere and from anything. I listen to music, boom, idea. I watch a tv show/drama, boom, idea. I read a manga, boom, idea. I fucking take a shower, boom, idea. I fucking fall asleep, boom, idea. It really doesn't take a lot for me to have ideas or for them to become fully fleshed out outlines and stories.

But also, having mutuals/readers who like...know what I like and feed me ideas/headcanons/prompts also really helps when I'm in a slump. Because sometimes they can send me shit and the minute I read it, my brain already has the fucking dialogue, ending, and scenes already planned out. Also helps that I see everything as a movie in my head. Like as I'm writing, it's like the scenes are playing in my head, I can see them like I would in a tv show or movie or drama.

So that's how. My secret I guess is to have a fuck load of time and a brain that never shuts off and can turn anything into a story. but I'm sure that's not very helpful, is it?
