A little fever (Nightcrawler x Reader)
Okey, so this is my very firt story with Kurt. I´ll be posting more soon about him, for the moment I will only write about him. So please tell me if you like it or if you some ideas. You know the drip, english is not my first lenguage... nor german...
Tumblr media
Having free time was something new within the mansion, now with Magneto in charge of the institute and reorganizing the activities among the inhabitants of the mansion, he left several mutants without many responsibilities other than taking care of the minors and ensuring that they complete their tasks and training. Because yes, Magneto may be a terrorist and a murderer, but he will never be irresponsible towards education, especially towards the youngest members of the house. So every day he personally made sure that each and every one of the young people attended their classes.
Very responsible on his part, but it does not take away the feeling of discomfort in some of the members, especially the X-Men like Wolverine or Scott, -the only thing they have agreed on since Professor Xaver died-
However, this didn't bother you that much, since you shared the idea with Rogue of giving Magnus a second chance. Because if life had given you a second chance to do things well and help others with your powers, why would you be the one who would deny it to someone else who in the end only seeks to continue with the Professor's dream. Maybe a very innocent or naive move on your part in wanting to see the best in the worst situations but they couldn't blame you either, that's what happens when you live for a long time with a certain blue ex-priest.
Kurt Wagner or better known as Nightcrawler is famous among the mansion even though his humility does not allow him to recognize it, but he is very loved within the mutant community, both at the institute and in Genosha. Since his arrival at the mansion, Kurt has been the echo of the people who continue their struggle and the voice of those who cannot raise it due to the impunity that lives in a world where being different was wrong.
But for you, more than a spokesperson or a faithful follower of God's teachings, he was a man, a very good one whom you had the fortune of calling boyfriend and sharing life with him for a couple of years now.
Unfortunately, being someone who was too influential within the community, Magneto relied a lot on him and his professionalism to deal with complicated issues within Genosha. He was recently offered the position as Faith Group Mediator in Genosha and it was definitely not an opportunity he would pass up, there was so much to do and learn. But Kurt is still one person against the hundreds of problems that a nascent nation can have, the poor man was exhausted but his determination to help was greater than his physical or emotional ailments.
You had been living apart for a couple of months now, the problem was not the distance, Megneto was kind to you and gave you access to the Jet as many times as you wanted so you could go visit him, but like Kurt, you were also someone important among the X-Men, you were a very good teacher and guide for the younger ones who were just awakening their abilities and Magneto needed you in that area. It was not an easy decision for the two of you but it was a good opportunity to explore new areas in your lives, you as the one in charge of guiding and educating the new generations and him as a founding member of the nation that would accommodate those new generations.
Lately due to both of their workloads it has caused communication to be minimal, but this would soon change for you since the holidays were approaching and you would have more free time and the possibility of visiting him for a couple of weeks but the problem is that Kurt was not answering your messages or calls, worried you went to the person you least expected to go to discuss a topic of this type.
It was the 5th turn you had taken in the hallway that led to Magneto's office door. You didn't know how to start the conversation or how to ask him, maybe Kurt was very busy and going to visit him would only delay him in his work and you didn't want that to cause him problems with Magneto, even though he now plays for the good guys you are still afraid of him. Whatever the reason Kurt wasn't responding, you had to make a decision right then and there.
A couple more turns and you almost left marks from your shoes on the carpet.
"Come on, you can do it. It's just Magneto, the greatest mutant ex-terrorist in history, what could go wrong?" You started to encourage yourself "Come on, don't you want to see Kurt?" You counted to three, it's now or never. You barely touched the wooden door when it opened.
"I was just going to look for you" "Me? Why?" You were more confused "You might want to sit down." He said something serious as he offered you a seat. "It's about Kurt. He's not okay, there was a flu outbreak on the island recently, nothing alarming, but, he hasn't stopped working since he arrived in Genosha, I've trying to talk to him, he needs to rest and recover from the fever but he doesn't listen to me"
You didn't know what impressed you more, Magneto's concern or Kurt being sick. No one knows if it's part of his mutation or if he just has a good immune system, but it's extremely rare for Kurt to get sick. "I need you to go to Genosha and stop him, it seems that he only listens to you."
"Well... that explains why he doesn't want to talk to me. He doesn't answer my messages, much less my calls. I just hope that after this you give him a break from so much work, Erick." You were a little upset with him, with both of them actually, Erick for making Kurt work too much and Kurt because he is not good at asking for help. "I'll leave right away"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It only took you a few minutes to get everything ready to go, you thought Hank would be more reluctant to lend you the Jet but as soon as he found out what was happening with Kurt he didn't think twice. After a couple of hours you finally arrived at the mutant nation of Genosha, everything was very different from the first time you visited just a couple of months ago. Everything was very beautiful, the lights, the people so colorful and friendly, children being free and happy. It was a dream.
Quickly got out of your thoughts and focused on finding your blue boyfriend who is most likely hiding away working. It was not difficult to find it, Magneto gave instructions on where to look and sure enough. Inside a large window in the main city building was Kurt... well, part of him, you could only see his pointy ears behind a pile of paper towers.
You slowly approached to knock on his door. Silence. Suddenly there was only the sound of a chair being dragged and something moving inside the room. A few seconds later the door opened revealing a rather tired Kurt. You could see the dark circles under his eyes, which didn't shine like they usually did.
"Meine Liebe?" You couldn't help but smile as you listened to Kurt, he sounded overly impressed to see you. Although the smile did not last long since Kurt sounded very bad, he was hoarse and if it were not for the light from the hallway that illuminated his face you would have ignored the color in his cheeks and the sweat on his forehead.
"You're not okay, Krut, you need to rest" was the only thing you could respond, opening the door completely and revealing the office, there were hundreds of papers scattered all over the place. "You haven't stopped working since you arrived. You had me worried" Kurt didn't say anything, just hung his head in some shame. "It's true, I didn't tell you anything because I didn't want to worry you, I wanted to finish work so I could return to the mansion with you as a surprise but work just keeps piling up and this flu won't leave me alone" He sounded really fed up with the situation.
"Come on, you have to rest. I'll take you home and prepare you something to eat." You took him by the arm carefully. "You probably haven't eaten anything useful all day."
"Of course I have eaten my love! Here in Genosha there is a lot of variety of food and delicious dishes" He said with his circus voice, he always uses it when he is happy or wants to show you something that excites him very much. Or well, with a voice attempt, it really sounded very hoarse
"Dear, candy and desserts don't count as food." You pointed to a pile of wrappers on the side of his desk. "I'm surprised you've never actually had a toothache or something at this point."
You approached his desk to arrange the papers he was working on. "Well, take your things, let's go get something to eat and let you rest."
"But Mein Schatz, I still have a lot of work to do. I can't leave, but you can go ahead and make yourself at home" He gave you the keys to his room
"Kurt, I came here to check on you and make sure you're resting and for God's sake that's what I'm going to do. If I have to take drastic measures or even if I have to drag you to your room I will do it. Don't make me go to extremes Kurt Wagner" You wanted to sound serious but it was almost impossible, you were too happy to see him.
"If you continue to be reckless, then I will have to leave and there will be no cuddling sessions for at least a whole month, anyway you are very busy with your work. I think I better go" You said with a fake sad tone as you walked towards the exit but a huge gasp stopped you.
"You wouldn't dare do that! Saying that is like blasphemy." Kurt looked at his desk for a second. "On second thought, going to rest doesn't sound so bad." He looked at you with concern, he really thought you were going to leave him without his sessions. They were sacred to him.
"Well, let's go. It's still early, if we leave right now we'll have more time for ourselves." You didn't even finish speaking when Kurt was already on the side of the door ready to leave with you.
When you got to his room you could see Kurt better, his face was tired and the fever was still there.
"Why don't you take a bath while I'll take care of the food?" you took his face in your hands, caressing his cheek and then leaving a kiss on his nose.
The bath took effect and soon his temperature began to drop but he still had to eat something before taking his medicine. They were both sitting on the couch eating some hot soup while watching something on television, although it was just background noise.
Kurt was telling you what his days had been like since he arrived, you were paying attention but you couldn't help but see how he rubbed his shoulder constantly.
"Love? Are you okay?" you pointed to his shoulder
"Ah, it's nothing, it's just that I haven't been able to sleep well lately and well... sitting for hours is not very pleasant" He said with a sideways smile showing one of his fangs.
Without saying anything you took him by the hand and led him to the bed, asking him to lie face down while you took some oils and creams from your backpack. Kurt initially refused because he knew he was going to fall asleep and wanted to spend the night awake with you talking. Not a very smart plan considering his state of health. The complaints were short-lived once he felt your hands on his back. Almost by magic, Kurt remained silent and soon you only heard small snoring due to his congestion. You couldn't help but laugh a little, he looked so adorable. You took his blanket and tucked him in, giving him a kiss on the head.
You quickly cleaned what was used during dinner and changed your clothes to lie next to Kurt, who almost as if it were a magnetic force moved until he was lying on your chest. You were definitely going to wake up with the flu but that didn't matter.
"Please don't go," Kurt said in his sleep.
"No, my love. I'm going to stay here with you"

If you were in a conversation, what topic would you like to talk about? :D
Something X-Men related, probably specifically anything deadpool or wolverine (Deadpool isn't exactly X-Men but I'm counting him cause he's also a part of this hyperfixation) anyways I LITERALLY GOT THIS NOTIFICATION WHILE IM WATCHING THE WOLVERING AND THE XMEN CARTOON LMAOOO Yeah I'm super into. X-Men shit right now because I watched Deadpool 3 and my brain said YES. THAT. I am absolutely taking this as an opportunity to rant by the way cause there is so much random shit about this show that has me giggling. Errrmmm spoiler warning I guess ?
FIRST OF ALL LOGANS VOICEEEEEVEVEVDBDBE 👹👹👹 I'm not one to simp for fictional characters (lie) but I'm down bad JUST because of the voice (also lie im down bad for a lot of reasons)
ALSO THE FUCKING AMOUNT OF LOVE INTERESTS HE HAS IN THIS. JEAN, (KINDA-ISH) WHO DOESN'T SHOW UP UNTIL EPISODE 23 OF 26??? SOME RANDOM JAPANESE WOMAN WHO'S MARRIED TO A SAMURAI?? SOME ALIEN-MUTANT-THING WOMAN WHO WORKED WITH HIM AND WAS HIS GIRLFRIEND BEFORE HE LOST HIS MEMORIES OR SOMETHING ?? Emma kinda but not really she's not an explicit love interest but you can kinda tell it's a little implied at some points. I definitely am forgetting a few my memory is still shit but A BISEXUAL CHARACTER AND NOT A MALE LOVE INTEREST IN SIGHT <3 thats why Cyclops is here. He's supposed to be kind of a romantic rival to Logan kinda (cause they both like jean or whatever idk it REALLY doesn't seem like Logan likes jean all that much but I guess he does) but it really just ends in them having tension that feels less like they despise each other and more like they're waiting for everyone to leave them alone so they can go at it so I'm counting Scott even if he isn't like OFFICALLY a love interest he basically is
Oh also gambit is a thing for like 2 episodes. All he does is cause issues which. Gambit core I guess idk much about him 💀 all I know is he is REALLY like. Cunning and confident and shit. Tryin to think of the word. CHARMING yeah he's charming. Or supposed to be I guess he looks a little funny so he just makes me giggle looking at him. Honestly if he wanted to fuck Logan he could probably convince him to buy he's in love with one of magneto's daughters or whatever?? That he met for like a few hours and kissed once?? Before being thrown in a cell for kissing magneto's daughter??? And then abandoning her after promising to take her away from genosha with him?? I don't even know man.
Anyways I'm a complete noob X-Men fan I literally didn't know jack shit about anyone but Logan before I started watching this. Already a hardcore wolverine/cyclops fan they're gay to be fr with you. I should read some of the comics huh. Anyways here's my live reaction to Logan and Scott interacting like normal people:
Tumblr media
Also silly goofy images from this show no I'm not sorry 3/4 are Logan he's BABYGIRL in this okay

Here have a poolverine meme to end this post

Here are some of my favourite secret or forbidden relationship fics! Please remember to check the tags before you read :D
By Faint Indirections by kianspo
Erik is in his ~50s, and lonely and bitter. He survived the Holocaust and was only ~14 when the war ended; and even ~40 years later, living in a country that helped to end WW2 and the Third Reich, homosexuality is still a taboo topic. Then one day, he stumbles over Charles, who is young(early 20s) and bright and smart and cheeky and full of energy and beautiful. And moving in the same street where Erik lives.
Fool me once, fool me twice by musical_emjay
Charles Xavier is sixteen years old the day his mother dies, leaving him parentless, temporarily penniless, and at the mercy of an inexplicable will. Shortly thereafter, his life takes a very drastic, entirely unexpected turn.
Sent to live with his estranged father — a man named Erik Lehnsherr whom he’s never met, and knows next to nothing about — Charles soon finds himself completely out of his depth. What follows is a bitter, obsessive, destructive battle of wills that sends both Charles and Erik sliding dangerously into something neither of them are prepared for, and may not be able to stop.
As to whether they want to, that’s another matter entirely.
Make a list of everything that’s ever been on fire by cm (mumblemutter)
We're brothers, you and I. We want the same thing.
Give me your stars to hold by pearl_o
Charles returns home from college and figures out why Erik has been so distant since he’s been away.
Beneath Me by Magnetism_bind (Unfinished)
Charles is a young lord staying at his family’s estate for the summer. Erik is his family’s stable-hand.
Ritual Self-Torture by Turtletotem
Shaw is King, Charles is his royal consort and Erik is a Knight/Lord. Shaw is sterile but his kingdom can’t find out, so he asks Erik to impregnate Charles.
He doesn’t know Erik and Charles are in love.
Your Heart Just Couldn’t Wait by Pookaseraph
Charles and his BFF Tony Stark have the life - they’re co-valedictorians at the most prestigious high school in the city, they have their own condo in Manhattan, and they get to go to all the awesome parties. Charles just wished he understood relationships and sex as well as Tony does. His theoretical bisexuality starts to feel a lot less theoretical when he and Tony end up in Professor Lehnsherr’s Physics III course at Columbia University, but Charles’ decision to take their relationship further leaves both student and professor with more than they bargained for.
I’m a bullet by Isolee
Since mother - since the house - since Cain - He’s adapted. He can do anything. Now he wants something, and he suspects he might even deserve it.
Or - Charles is sort-of a sex addict, and Erik is his married-with-family supervisor at Uni.
The Weight of a Crown by sebastian2017 (series)
Erik is second in line to the throne of Genosha. He’s also gay. The two don’t always work together very well.

People seemed to like my post chronicling the queer history of Felicia Hardy, so I'm going to do something similar to that... Let's chat about the queer history of Marvel's unwitting power couple, Ellie Phimister and her girlfriend Yuki Ohara.
Tumblr media
Let's dive in!
Content Warning: This summary will include discussion of anti-mutant hate crimes and genocide, as that is part of Ellie's comic book story.
Like a lot of queer X-Men stories, this one begins with queercoding in the 80s.
While Jim Shooter famously prohibited any queer storytelling in Marvel Comics during his tenure as Editor-in-Chief of the company and, on top of that, the Comics Code Authority also banned it, Chris Claremont, the architect of the X-Men as we know them today, never really followed those rules - and neither did his editors, artists, and co-writers. There are so many queer-coded relationships throughout his runs on the X-Men and the modern X-Men stories are still playing catch-up to this day, canonizing the intentions of him and his collaborators one character at a time. Mystique and Destiny are probably his most famous pairing nowadays, as that is canon now, but he also wrote the Juggernaut as being with Black Tom Cassidy, Kate Pryde as being bisexual for most women she encounters in her life, and, the topic for today, Storm being in a romantic relationship with the Japanese assassin Yukio.
Tumblr media
Yukio is, to put it mildly, a risk-taker. She runs through life with seemingly no self-preservation instincts whatsoever and, for some reason, always gets by nonetheless. She and Storm have a fling while Storm is in Japan (Uncanny X-Men 172-173) and this leads directly into Storm's famous punk era, which certainly does recontextualize some of the vibes of her having suddenly gotten a mohawk and a taste for leather.
Their later reunion in Uncanny X-Men 311-313 is extra funny to me - both because of the narration textually referring to them as "more then friends" and because of Yukio justifying her daredevil attitude by suggesting it would have been "politically incorrect" of the villain to have attacked them in public.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two "kindred spirits" hang out for a bit, but Yukio is ultimately a Wolverine character and not a larger X-Men team member, so they naturally split off as time goes on. Their last appearance together was during the 2014 Death of Wolverine event - though their affair was mentioned by an angry Kitty during the Storm flashback mini earlier this year.
Tumblr media
That said, Yukio is obviously a Sapphic and I guess when the team behind the movie Deadpool 2 decided to give their version of Negasonic Teenage Warhead a girlfriend, they looked at the list of queer-coded characters and decided she was the right one for them...
Now, as for Ellie...
Tumblr media
Eloise Phimister AKA Negasonic Teenage Warhead debuted in Grant Morrison's New X-Men, but her name was not said on-panel until after she was already dead. She was one of Emma Frost's students, a gothic woman with telepathic powers that foretold the death of her and her classmates at Genosha... and yet she died nonetheless.
Tumblr media
This is a very tragic character. She has a silly name, but that is part of the heartbreak of this moment. Ellie is a child who died as a result of a genocidal desire to kill all mutants. Her silly name emphasizes her youth... which makes it REALLY tonally dissonant when it played for comedy from here-on-out.
Tumblr media
She was briefly brought back by the camp gay villain Selene when she revived horrific versions of many deceased mutants as part of X-Force... and then she was revived for real with a new design fter the release of the first Deadpool movie. She maintains her precognitive abilities and future-sight here, but otherwise... Well, she's now a comedy character in a Deadpool book. She also can warp reality now, partially as an explanation for why she looks/acts different then her first appearances.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She paled around with Deadpool for a bit, but didn't do anything explicitly queer in the comics until 2022 (good god) where she kissed an unnamed woman, causing Wolverine to wonder if she'll one day lead a X-Men team that is exclusively made up of her multiple girlfriends. This comment is also a subtle not to the implied status quo of the Krakoa era, where Wolverine himself has two partners - dating both Jean Grey and Scott Summers.
Tumblr media
This is a funny moment, though I do wonder why it took so long for her to be queer in the comics - Marvel comic books are generally the most queer media Marvel puts out, so I do wonder if it was something specifically about her being a Deadpool character that caused people to hesitate to greenlight queer stories about her.
Finally, in 2023, Ellie got her first solo series in the form of an Infinity Comic.
Tumblr media
This series uses the increasingly-popular approach of having "fate" be a stand-in for "the concept of being a loyal adaptation in a multimedia landscape," as she is fated to kiss a girl named Yuki Ohara or else the fabric of reality as we know it will be destroyed.
Tumblr media
While Deadpool is only in it for a bit, it is a very meta narrative, with a lot of commentary on the way that female characters are written in comics in general and female reality-warpers specifically, with Ellie having a lot of anxiety about the risk of her becoming like Jean Grey or Scarlet Witch - not helped by the TVA chasing her down and declaring her a threat. However, in the end, she meets her girlfriend-to-be and pauses time itself to get know her properly before having their universe-saving kiss. Good for them!
Tumblr media
Since then, she has appeared exactly once - in a Pride issue fashion show - but I imagine she and her girlfriend Yuki are just in a little reality-warp bubble, hidden away as Fall of X finishes up.
Tumblr media
Synergy is a dirty word in the comics landscape, but I personally like Ellie and her romance with Yuki - and I'm very relieved that they introduced a new, younger Yuki O. based on the movie for her to date instead of just retconning the established Yukio into becoming Eloise's girlfriend... Storm doesn't deserve to have her girl stolen away like that!
Also, Yuki has a giant mech and electricity powers. Maybe a little cliche for a Japanese character's powerset, but it is badass...
Tumblr media
I hope we see more comic book stuff with these two eventually... There is potential there that is as of yet untapped - especially as they are probably two of Marvel's most notable queers by virtue of being in wildly popular movies, even if their comic queerness is a relatively modern thing.

A Family Found || Chapter 1/2
Fandom: Xmen
Warnings: None that I can think of
Wordcount: 1979
Summary: It has finally settled for Miranda that home is where the heart is. AN: your honor this was supposed to be done before I started the Genosha fic but procrastination and writing block really kicked my ass on this one -------------------------- Maybe she had truly found peace.
That's sure what it felt like, as Miranda sat curled up in the corner of the living room couch. She was drawing, and listening to her friends talking about Star Wars lore. She didn't particularly care for the deep lore about said space franchise, but her eyes were drawn away from her art none the less.
Because it wasn't just Ebak, Shadow, Ber, Lemming and Myst chatting in a five way conversation about this topic, but at some point Kurt had eagerly joined the conversation as he too had a lot of thoughts and opinions about the characters and the spaceships. Miranda had already loved to just sit there and listen to the various melodies that made up the voices of her friends, but to now hear her lover join as he so easily joined the conversation? How her friends just as easily accepted him into said conversation and listened to his input?
She hadn't looked down at her drawing since, watching the people in the conversation with so much love and affection in her eyes. Not only because her friends had wholeheartedly accepted her into the group, with all her quirks and things she worried about- but because after she told them she was officially dating Kurt they had extended that open armed behavior to him immediately. There was no acting up about needing to protect her from him, not the whole "if you hurt her we'll hurt you" nonsense that media told her was so prevalent... and always made her feel like whatever she chose the choice would be considered wrong and beyond her capability of making- whether that was the actual intention or not. But no, her friends accepted Kurt just as easily as they had accepted her.
It was mesmerizing to watch, and warmed her heart to the core. Chin in her hand, she just watched and listened to the conversation unfold. Did she have context, or knew what any of them were talking about? No. But watching Shadow passionately arguing for something with Ebak insisting the narrative had to go that way, and Kurt then wholeheartedly agreeing with Shadow?
She was sure her eyes were sparkling with just how much love she felt for everyone involved even if her eyes were very obviously on the man who held the key to her heart.
"Do you want to say something, Miranda?" Myst asked, with Miranda's eyes flicking to him. Myst was another kind hearted soul, one hidden behind a lot of worries about his volatile portal making mutation, but even so he was a very kind person. She really had lucked out in just how many kind people this mansion had drawn in, and how willing they had been to be her friends. Her eyes slowly went back to Kurt, her heart fluttering in her chest
"No. If you want to discuss Indiana Jones I'm your gal though. And I'm still waiting for someone to bite the bullet and make a great Lord of the Rings movie," she joked lightly
"You don't like the Bakshi movie?" Ber laughed in response.
"What do you think? I would love for that franchise to get the same treatment as Star Wars, you know? Something big and bombastic," Miranda said with a grin.
"How about we have a movie night? Maybe we'll finally be able to show you how fun Star Wars is," Kurt almost chirped, and Miranda's heart fluttered once more as he looked at her with pleading eyes
"Alright, alright, just stop looking at me like that; you know I can't resist those puppy eyes of yours."
Kurt grinned, tail happily swishing back and forth; he knew very well that she was unable to resist his eyes most of the time. He looked at a message on his communication watch, Scott asking him to help him with some documents.
"I've gotta go," he mused, wandering over to his girlfriend to press a quick and soft kiss to her forehead as a gentle goodbye, "keep me updated when this movie night is gonna happen?"
"We will, anyone got any ideas of when that works best?" Ebak easily agreed as he immediately started planning, while Miranda took the slight distraction by him as an opportunity to press a soft kiss to Kurt's cheek as her way of saying goodbye, drawing a soft purr out of him.
"I'll see you soon, Süße," he whispered to her, before vanishing in a puff of smoke to which Miranda just let out a soft, happy sigh.
"Mail arrived. Here's yours."
With a very deep sigh that seemed to come somewhere from the deepest part of her soul, Miranda read the letter that she casually tore out of the envelop. It was just her, Ebak and Myst in the living room of the mansion on this early evening, the rest of their friends scattered among the place. The two men with her instinctively looked up at her sighing, immediately concerned for their friend.
"Bad news?" Myst asked, a softness to his tone that Miranda always quite appreciated.
"Eh," Miranda said in a very nonchalant and non-committal tone, "just bills. Would be wonderful to get a postcard for once, but I'm not that lucky."
"Bills for what?" Ebak chimed in. To Miranda he always sounded like little in life managed to catch him off guard; that even if it did he somehow always knew a way to get through it. A skill she hoped to actually obtain someday. For now, she just shrugged, another but lighter sigh leaving her.
"The apartment I had before living here. Well, still have, rather. I really should go back to fetch the final bits of my jewelry and art books and the likes but..." her voice trailed off as she refolded the bill in her hands.
"But what?" Myst asked, and Miranda tried to ignore the hint of concern now ringing through in his voice.
"... I'll do so when I get over myself and stop being a baby about the bad vibes that place gives me," she shrugged as she spoke, "until then I'll just deal with the bill so the landlord doesn't come knocking on the mansion door."
As the alarm on her watch went off, she gave it a little glance before easily and smoothly getting up from the table.
"I've got to go, I've an appointment with Hank to discuss some of his findings about this reflective nature of my cells- and yes Shadow will be there so I don't insult the guy by not understanding seventy percent of his doctor's speech. See ya around, bye."
The two men both spoke a soft goodbye when she left, silence lingering between them when Myst looked at Ebak from the corner of his eyes, before fully turning his head into that direction.
"So... She could've just asked us to..."
"Oh, she could have," Ebak agreed with a somewhat tired tone to his voice, "unfortunately, my friend, we're surrounded by many people who think asking for help makes them a bother. Or, in Miranda's specific case; so stubbornly independent and self-sufficient that I genuinely think it doesn't even cross her mind to ask her friends for help; because surely this isn't a big deal and she can handle it on her own."
"So what do you suggest we do?"
"You call the team together, I'll see about getting us the keys to her apartment. Something tells me there's more going on than the place just being bad vibes for her."
And with that said, the group met up the next day in front of Miranda's old apartment, with Ebak casually twirling the keys to the place around his finger while Myst showed up with Ber, Lemming and Shadow in tow- the latter closely followed by Gambit.
"... Do I want to know how you got those keys?" Myst asked.
"I don't think you do," Ebak dryly remarked, "do I want to know why Gambit is here?"
"That was my idea," Shadow answered sheepishly, to which her brother just shook his head in amusement before opening the door and clicking on the light.
The kitchen was a disaster; the contents of a cabinet no longer attached to the wall spilled out all over the floor with glass shards covering every tile. Aside from that the place was dusted over- no one had been here in quite some time.
"Right," Ebak muttered, crossing his arms, "best thing we can do is get this place cleaned and cleared out so it can be rented out to someone else instead. Shadow, I want you to take the bedroom under your wing. Everyone else, start moving furniture out of here and clean as you go. We'll see about fixing the cabinet later."
Meanwhile at the mansion, Miranda had woken up from her slumber and wandered around to get herself breakfast. It was only after she'd gotten some food in her that her brain woke up enough to note that it was quiet in the mansion. Too quiet for a place usually so full of life. Usually either Ber, Shadow or Lemming were around, while Myst and Ebak aligned more with her night owl schedule but would still be here to have breakfast in equally as zombified a state as she was.
As her brain put those notions together, she almost choked on her tea in her realization, before a deep grounded "fuck" left her.
She rushed out the door after getting properly dressed, making her way over to her old apartment as fast as she could as her eyes grew in surprise when she saw the stack of boxes and furniture being moved out. Ebak popped into view near the stack of boxes, immediately locked in as her eyes flew to him when he picked up another box. He turned around, offering her a sheepish smile.
"Hi, Miranda. I figured you would still be asleep in Kurt's room?"
She was far too stunned to speak, instead gesturing wildly at the boxes and furniture around herself before her brain finally remembered how to use her voice
"What- What are you doing?!? What are all of you doing?!?"
"Helping you move out," he said it so matter-of-factly that it stunned Miranda straight back into silence, big green eyes looking at her friend with the utmost surprise written into them as Ebak casually twirled the keys to the place around his finger again, "aside from the fact that this place holds bad memories for you, properly moving out everything all on your own? Miranda, that is incredibly hard and difficult to do. You could've just asked us for help; we're family."
Something in her eyes trembled, surprise making way for a deep sense of gratitude in the green pools of her eyes. But then, something else popped up in the emerald shaded; confusion
"Wait. How did you know I didn't sleep in my own room at the mansion?"
Ebak just smiled, mysterious and mischievously, giving the keys another twirl before he spoke
"Because I know you well enough to know that with Kurt out on mission you're camping out in his room until he's back. That room holds, well, how would you say it.. good vibes for you, so..."
Miranda just stared at him with her mouth slightly agape for a long time, before lightly shaking her head while an affectionate sigh left her, "you're a menace, E."
"Takes one to know one."
At that moment, Myst emerged from one of his portals with Gambit in tow, humming a Tetris song to himself as they stacked the boxes for Ebak to whisk off to Miranda's room. When Myst felt two sets of eyes on him, he sheepishly looked over to his friends
"Am I interrupting something?" No, but another voice sure as hell was; "What are all of you doing?!"

Intersectional Community Cooperation in X-Men 97
The discussion around X-Men 97 has died down and I've not really seen a lot of ongoing discussion about it, which is a true shame as it actually managed to update the queer community allegory for the franchise to the mainstream.
I say mainstream as, despite a recent return to status quo, X-Men comics have understood that the formula is essentially about managing intersectional in-fighting in marginalized communities for some time.
If you ever found yourself asking "Why does Krakoa have [insert villain here] at the table?" then it's important to understand that the allegories have by necessity updated to discuss the fact that there are multiple minorities who are all excluded, hated and resisted by the dominant culture under a single banner. The anti-mutant bigots of 616 view Jean Gray, Scott Summers and Charles Xavier as "dirty muties" as much as Erik Lehnsherr, Nathan Essex and En Sabah Nur.
All sects of the mutant community need to unite and fight for their rights under a single banner because Mutant prejudice is not over until The Morlocks can walk in the sun and for the most part. Though individual writers and a worrying number of fans do not understand this fact, it is still the core DNA of modern X-Men.
I think X-Men 97 did a good job bringing the mainstream friendly 90s Cartoon up to date with that in their own way and by adapting 90s storylines, too. I'm impressed.
Especially as I did not trust them to pull it off. In fact we very much were prepared for the typical fumbling of the ball that comes with Disney-Marvel stories on nuanced topics.
In way of demonstrating the lack of faith, after the first episode of the final 3-part arc I (for certain values of "I", these posts do not read like my prose) had written on a forum (edited for conciseness):
Thoughts on today's ep though: Whatcha expect? They have amazing villainous parallels to real world atrocities on oppressed minorities at a time where all the talk of using apathy and overloading empathy bandwidth hits too dang true-- then they cut to what amounts to "punch the bad guy real hard" after 8 episodes of getting the audience to understand bad guy and kinda root for him! Previous ep had Hank framed between fallen statues of Charles and Erik and after walking towards Charles he ends the scene walking to Erik due to his leftist bigot love interest's ignorance-- like they had the makings for emotional complexity that they brewed carefully over a season-- in my heart I knew it would end with "hit Magneto really hard" but like-- it didn't have to y'know?
Turns out, though, the ending was not hit Magneto really hard as we had feared.
It was deal with the internalized self-prejudice of Bastion. I read it as internalized homophobia, particularly as Bastion's journey is played to parallel Charles and Erik's but it's about internalized prejudice that was instilled into him by his bigot parents.
For all the show glossed over Bastion's origins, they did a good job sticking the landing with the allegory. After the genocide in Genosha they all but had Rogue say the pissed-off cockroach motherfuckers tweet at General Ross and we are shown the natural evolution of the cockroach queer, the curly moustache man himself, Mag-Fucking-Neto.
The final conflict between Charles and Erik relives the moment that the pair discovered the other was queer a mutant. The scene, in a bar, has Charles vaguely graze the topic and feel out for safety. Erik, accustomed to hatred, rebukes Charles and tells him that if he were gay a mutant then outing himself would lead to invite violence to be acted upon him. Erik knows the violence that man can and will enact upon marginalized communities.
Where I had worried the fight would amount to "punch Magneto really hard" for endangering the Earth it actually ended up with his ex-boyfriend accepting the sheer amount of pain that he felt and acknowledging that the agony the world had inflicted upon him was consuming him via a literal ocean of agony, the only ship above the tides of despair being his family. It wasn't even choosing love over hate, it was accepting community and the mere idea that life could be anything more than eternal torment and pain. Erik had been conditioned to ONLY expect heartbreak, rejection and prejudice and Genosha proved all his darkest fears true. Magneto was incapable of believing in a world outside of pain and Charles had to reach him and tell him there will always be those who will keep him afloat.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Bastion, with all his self-loathing, has decided to try and exterminate all mutants, a population he himself is a member of. He views himself as an abomination.
If Magneto hates the world that has hurt him so many times, Bastion hates himself for not being what the world considers normal. His hatred of mutants is so strong that it consumes him entirely.
He completely overpowers the X-Men, taking punishment from all the team at their peak of desperation and after his health bar depletes enough to activate a cutscene he mocks "You call yourself a team--- a family? But a family that can't save itself merely works together to die alone."
Hearing that is the turning point in which Cyclops orders the team to stop fighting and embrace him. They extend an olive branch, explaining the prejudice was learned from his mother and that he is still a welcome member of their community.
Tumblr media
He resists and fights, unwilling to take them at their word. Insults them, mocks them for allowing him to massacre their people. He notes that humanity is going extinct, being "replaced" by the mutant population. Jean responds that more humans are being born every day and yes some will be queer mutants but that just means coexisting will become more necessary.
The hearty debate is ended when Bastion notices that the USA have launched nukes at the Meteor.
Tumblr media
I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards.
I also do like that President Kelly, Steve Rogers (who was shown refusing to "get involved" in mutant affairs earlier in the season) and Tony Stark are all shown in the war room nervously watching after having sent nukes to destroy Meteor M. Allies until the chips are down because they're not brave enough to stand for the marginalized themselves.
Given how ungenerous I had felt while watching the lead-up to this final episode, I really do think that the writers understood that infighting within vulnerable communities will always lead to circumstances where we cannot stand up to oppression.
And the massacre of Genosha was committed because they had established an inclusive community. One that included everyone. Their leadership round table had villains and heroes alike, Pryor, Frost, Shaw and Magneto sat alongside Worthington, and even (as far as we currently know in this canon) human Moira McTaggert. Mutants were learning to stand together and erase the self-inflicted barriers between mutant communities. The Morlocks were in Genosha. All were equal.
That was a threat. It needed to be destroyed.
-
Anyway. I just wanted to praise X-Men 97 for the plea for all those living in a world that hates us to link hands and find love, family, growth and healing in one another and together. We do not have to be swallowed by our pain or try to limit ourselves to be accepted by a world indifferent to our attempts at assimilation.
I legitimately cannot wait for one of those lovely English major queers with free time and a platform to tackle this topic because my uneducated butt is just seeing outlines of a thesis.

Plot Idea 💡
Tumblr media
The plot - The Young Avengers decides they want a vacation from NYC and want to go somewhere topical and kinder than usual for their families. So one of the series suggests Mar Azul (it’s basically The Caribbean islands where Genosha becomes years later).
They discover paradise with beaches, mountains, food and drinks. As well as caves and mythical creatures, unlocking their unique charm and beauty within themselves. Maybe even find something more? 👀
HEHE! One of my OCs, Eva, is actually originally from Mar Azul, it’s a very big place and factor to our OCs in the future to meet. A vacation point!
Those Caribbean islands, actually holds caves that can unlock people’s minds and powers too!
~~~~~
I have a HC: Eva’s home island became Genosha Island and now Erik runs it as a community for ALL mutant kind and friends to visit to relax and join in on the fun
X-MEN MEET YOUNG AVENGERS AHHH 😌
~~~
LETS COLLAB THIS ONE 🏝️

i love xmfc and i like charles&raven’s dynamic for the most part (excluding her clearly having feelings for him, that gives me the ick) but something that’s always bothered me is the way raven thinks charles feels about her true form.
bc the thing is, it’s so clear to me that he’s uncomfortable because she’s naked not bc she’s blue and that’s valid bc he clearly thinks of her as a sister and nothing more (completely understandable) and like…idk i guess i just don’t understand why she’s even naked? mystique wears clothes in every single other adaptation lol. and like ofc he’s worried about her walking around blue…the wider public has no idea that mutants exist yet and it’s the 60s (ironically the world does just keep getting worse for mutants), she absolutely would’ve been attacked by bigots.
but like idk. i’m a hardcore leftist and forced assimilation has always been so gross to me so ofc i think people with visible mutations should be able to be proud and out abt the mutations; it’s why i love the morlocks and genosha and krakoa sm. but i’m also a queer, autistic afab living in today’s america so i understand that fear of prosecution is very real.
idk this is all disjointed but idk i feel like that movie would have been so much better if it had been written by a leftist lmao.
ALSO completely off topic but fuck hank mccoy, all my homies hate alternate timeline hank mccoy

X-Men '97 keeps being amazing. Now one more episode to nail it all. Not gonna put everything in tags, so let me ramble on about Tolerance is Extinction Part 2:
What I love most already is that every decision makes absolute sense from a character's pov. Which kinda is the most important thing. Tensions are running high, emotions are cranked up to 11 and some words hit like very painful slaps. But everything makes sense. And this isn't about one character being totally right and the other being totally wrong (except Bastion of course, the ultimate villain and all).
Oh yeah, starting with him. When he cries in the opening you want to spit on him. He is responsible for all the suffering the Prime Sentinels - including his mother - are going through. But wow, when he says that everything is silent, because the blackout has killed all electricity and in that moment Bastion knows a new kind of peace? Great. Jumping ahead here, gonna be honest. If my great plan to save the world would hinge on putting some tech on my very powerful oponent, I would put the teleporter on that team. I'm not saying this lightly. I love Second Coming very much and the panels of Nightcrawler's death in X-Force #26 still haunt me. So I don't want my precious Elf anywhere near Bastion, but... I mean... he has the best chance to use the element of surprise, while Jean would deal with a powerful distraction. Which didn't happen because of Sinister, but from a planning stage Kurt was more needed there. He didn't even go up against Rogue in space to hammer on the connection there.
Now, I'm glad to see that Magneto's worldwide EMP does have consequences. This is however the second thing I'm a tiny bit miffed about. Thousands upon thousands people are probably dead because of this total blackout. Just think about every ICU in any hospital anywhere just for starters. And the truth is, Magneto did kill mutants with that move as well. He sure saved some by shutting down the Sentinels, yes, but also mutants are definitely among the... collateral damage. And this is where "Magneto is right" is very important to me. I think a lot of people like to run with that slogan, but don't see that what Magneto is right about is his fear. Not his methods. Charles is too idealistic, believing in the very best of humankind to win. He is too naive. Magneto is proven right over and over. And that is a sad thing, nothing empowering about it.
What I like is how Erik describes his feelings, how he focuses on Leech. That little mutant boy clinging to him in his final moments. Who believed that Erik could save him... Magneto's anger makes sense. Ultimately his actions fall under cool-motif-still-murder, but oh the motif is heartbreaking (I will not steer into real world territory and the topic of radicalization).
So Rogue is my fav. She is my absolute favorite character in any superhero comic I have ever read. She is one of my top tier alltime favorite characters in anything ever. I have been with her through a lot with so many writers and so much bs... AND I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF HER THIS EPISODE!!! Starting with the costume, which is just asdksdnfälsdmrfäüwe4foip34jtfpowmf I LIVE for her green hoodie outfits, from her villain era to later variations. To step away from THE 90s costume (which was put back in the comics, because it is her most iconic look), uhuhuhuhuhuhuhu I knew something was up. Again I do believe that ultimately Magneto is doing far more harm than good, but I understand why Rogue went with him. The one unfair thing was that Kurt was actually there with her on Genosha. He even saved Magneto and Rogue from a blast. But she kinda ignored him and adressed everybody else. But the one thing she's been living with is that yes, she chose Magneto when offered to be with him on Genosha as his chosen Queen. BUT romantically after that dance and kiss, her heart chose Remy. And poor Gambit died without even knowing. I am very happy with how they retconned the whole prior Rogue and Magneto encounter into it all. His dreams of a mutant island nation and Rogue wanting to see such a place. For a few minutes they had all of that on Genosha. It would have meant to leave the X-Men. Which would have been interesting. To leave behind her spot on the superhero team, but Kurt was part of Genosha, also Madelyne. I like the way they greeted each other in Ep 5. Rogue was ready to change the whole direction of her life once again -- even though her heart definitely belonged to Gambit. And then there was death everywhere.
I like that Rogue and Cyclops both question the Professor, but come to different conclusions on how to deal with it. I have to say it, while it was fun when the whole stick of Professor Xavier training a few mutant teens was examined more and the dark underbelly of what he was doing was revealed, it was refreshing. But a part of me is soooooooooo over all the shady-Charles-stuff over the years (ugh, Krakoa... DUDE). The character was crushed under the weight of his pursuit of peace. I like when there is some nuance and a spotlight on how he is the embodiment of "meaning well". One person alone can't fix everything. Humans (mutants) make mistakes. All this to say I liked the talk Charles and Scott had. That Charles believed so much that his old friend Erik could be persuaded to try (he was right, it did take a whole genocide to push him over the edge, that's something) and that this sorta betrayal would push a door open for Scott and Jean to walk away. To have a life. He acknowledges that he put so much burden on them... but he miscalculated. Scott can't walk away from responsibilities. He couldn't sit back and raise a son when the world was still on fire (even if nothing bad had happened with Nathan). It's too late. Charles already raised him to care.
When Roberto stepped forward to go with Magneto I wasn't surprised. He hid his powers for so long, always in fear of what his parents might say - and they fucking let the Sentinels take him. Wow. Of course he feels betrayed and this peaceful talk from the X-Men... it's hard to not choose violence. But it was even better that when the time to fight came, it was clear he never wanted to hurt Jubilee. Or really any of the others. Not when he knows people. And oh, poor Jubilee, burned up his card (Claremont Avenue, I saw that XD ), because of course from her perspictive he's just being dumb.
I have a question about that Muir Island base - do the mannequins for Cyclops and Wolverine have wigs under those masks? Who sat down and made those for Storm, Jean and Rogue?? Also kinda funny to see those costumes, when... well Rogue was already wearing a version of that. (AND SHE WORE GAMBIT'S COAT THAT SHE LEFT BEHIND OMG THE FEELINGS I HAVE...)
Anyway, Storm and Jean - the mutant wives!!!!! Aaaaahhhh, even more feels. Storm was... not treated well this season. I mean the depowering story is great, but she was missing from so much stuff, that was terrible. But when she is on screen, she is her best version, love it. And I also loved how angry she was when the tech to take away a mutant's power was mentioned. So personal. This is the true meaning of "wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy". A Goddess! With this Storm it's even possible to portray someone who is Lawful Good to a fault.
And then they casually pull Fatal Attractions out of the hat. Well, parallels work before that. Gambit's death compared to Illyana's in the comics, so Rogue takes Colossus' place. And now Wolverine had the displeasure of the adamantium being ripped from his skeleton. Fuck. They used so many storylines this season (for the record, I am waiting for Apocalypse and am also in the camp of people who believe he might bring Gambit back as Death).
So many things happened. Morph as Hulk was a treat. That they are able to copy physical traits, thus powers, makes them S-tier. And yet, I would have put Kurt in that spot. That Morph thought disguising themself as Sinister would get them close was sorta funny. "that cowardly weasel would never"
Then there was Jean vs Sinister and Cable. AND HOW SHE TALKED TO CYCLOPS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The emotional pummeling left and right...
But really it's great that everybody has a reason for what they are saying and doing. Including Wolverine, being the best at what he does - a SNIKT in the back when the fight is too dire. Although killing Magneto is a problem if you want to save earth (yes, hallo, Polaris, we could need your help).

Invincible is better than X-Men'97 to me because the pacing of the reboot hurts you physically. The entire Inferno story line was condensed into 1 episode, Storm's Life and Death story got split into 2 episodes but technically only make up the run time of 1 and a quarter episodes if you squint, our first look into Genosha is in the very same episode it gets destroyed, Magneto seemingly dies in one episode you get an unrelated episode afterwards and he is revealed to be alive in the next one that's directly related to the topic of the episode he died in, ...
The show ain't got the time to be a show from how super fast things go by
Yup, to be fair that was a problem with the original X-Men 90s show as well.
I really hope Invincible gets another season sooner this time its like the only superhero media I care about anymore haha.

I said in another recent post how people on CBR being too focused on what Lorna wears and who she fucks kept me from really digging into meaningful topics for Lorna with her upcoming Fall of the House of X moment. I feel like delving a little more into the core issue of that matter.
There's nothing inherently wrong with either topic in isolation. Both topics can take things in interesting directions and bring interesting insights. There are story and development possibilities for both.
But here's the problem: over there, both topics have been done to death. I literally cannot count how many times people on the Polaris thread on CBR decided to spend pages talking about these things. And whereas I do talk about Genosha and its importance for Lorna a lot, I do so because a) the comics keep refusing to even acknowledge that part of her history, and b) that matter is pivotal to understanding who Lorna is and how she thinks.
What she wears and who she fucks is neither of those things.
Someone who hasn't had to deal with this stuff will understandably think "What's the big deal if people talk about those topics even if it's over and over and over again?"
To that, I have to explain that when your conversation is almost entirely about those two topics, the message you're sending to the company and to other fans is that those two things are where the character's focus should be.
Not on more pertinent things like how she would respond to Orchis and other attempts at genocide based on her own past experience with it. Not on how her long history with the X-Men would play into her perception of current events.
The focus ends up being aimed at superficial things. And in the case of sex and potential partners, it brings with it a huge risk of just repeating all the same problems of how she's been depicted around Havok.
When someone focuses mainly on her looks and sex, what they're suggesting is that the best approach to writing Lorna is a very shallow one where nothing of deeper substance needs to be explored.
When you get down to it, this is part of why her treatment over the past decade has been focused on those two things too, including the coffee cup deal. Coffee was a neat quirk when it first appeared, but ended up being a problem once it took the place of doing anything truly meaningful with the character.
Ultimately, the topics of clothes and possible romance are like filler episodes of a TV show. They're fine here and there, to add a little flavor to the characters and bridge gaps. But people don't watch your show for nothing but filler episodes. People don't watch the baseball episode of an anime and think "Oh man I wish they would stop with all the demons and powerful fighting moves and deeper themes of this show to focus entirely on baseball."
The chicken dinner joke from the movie Inside (2023) is another way to put it. Wish I could link a clip or good text for it, but can't find either so I'll just relay.
The movie itself involves Willem Dafoe's character, Nemo, trapped in a high tech condo after a botched art heist, slowly losing his mind from the isolation. He tells a joke about a girl who loves chicken having that for dinner... every single night. Her mom decides to make that for dinner every night, nonstop. In the beginning, the girl is ecstatic to have her favorite meal. But after over a week of eating the exact same thing, she ends up first not caring, then loathing it, then reaching the point of sarcastically saying she loves chicken again cause that's all she ever gets.
That's the "what could Lorna wear and who could she fuck" discussion when it constantly comes up.
It's worse right now, because we're on the cusp of what's shaping to be an excellent story for Lorna having a huge moment. There are so, SO many things that could be discussed about the character and what could be done with her. What parallels we can already see (e.g. bringing Knowhere to Earth being like flinging Krakoa into space in the 70s), which could happen.
But instead, they're once again talking about what she could wear and who she could fuck.
What kind of message does that send when such a huge moment for Lorna leads not to deeper discussion on themes and character, but on superficial stuff? Far more importantly, what does it mean when the superficial stuff actively prevents deeper discussion from happening in any meaningful way?
That's a big part of why I don't mind skipping out on the CBR thread at this juncture. Right now, it really doesn't represent Lorna and why people voted for her to win the X-Men vote. It represents a minority of people who would rather talk about superficial things, and for some people, revert her to past poor depictions.

So I'm finally getting around to reading Grant Morrison's New X-Men after years of meaning to do it, and there's a few things here that are now driving me insane. First off:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THIS WAS WHERE AND WHEN THE GENOSHA GENOCIDE HAPPENED. HOLY FUCK THAT HIT ME LIKE SEVERAL TONS OF BRICKS.
The bit that's driving me up a wall here, though? The fact that nobody is behaving in the least how I'd expect them to behave in the wake of losing SIXTEEN FUCKING MILLION PEOPLE within a few hours. Least of all Emma. She's acting like her usual stuck-up prissy bitchy lovable self within a day of watching a nation be torn down around her and having children die in her arms. I just. I expected Genosha to loom a bit larger than a few pages and a flippant conversation topic. I mean good god half the mutants on earth were just fucking wiped from existence.
Then there's this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't even have words for this right now. In my files I labeled these as "fucked up trans allegory" 1 and 2, and that really says it all tbh.

If desired, you can request my muses from their MCU AU. This is easier for those who can't really see themselves interacting with urban fantasy characters and prefer something closer to their topics.
When that happens, this is the basic premise to each of the main cast:
Allen (code name: Thorn) is part of the Montréal chapter of the Hellfire Club, having inherited the membership from his father. Although his father is still a member in the London Chapter, in here Allen is the Black Knight. A psychic himself, he is endowed with Mental Reading, Clairvoyance and Emotion induction.
Alden (code name: Black King) belongs in Genosha. In this universe, his appearance is that of a large black anthropomorphic feline, (similar to Beast), measures almost three meters and it's a hulk of muscles and raw power. He has superhuman strength, dexterity and stamina, as well as superhuman senses. When focused, he can harness the power of the sun and create powerful fists/claws of sunlight.
Alfred (code name: Gewitter) is also another Genosha mutant. His appearance is also that of a brown antropmorphic wolf (similar to Beast), measures three meters too and it's a hulk of muscles and raw power. He also has superhuman strength, dexterity and stamina, and also, additional psychic powers to induce emotions (of respect, submission or intimidation) as well as create electrical currents.
Addison (code name: Mentat) is also part of the same chapter of the Hellfire Club and is also a psychic mutant. However, he is quite the gray character as he is also teaching the new mutants at the Charles Xavier Institute for the Gifted Children. He has not only the same abilities of Allen but also a Mind Palace and Psychokinetic abilities.
Toño (code name: Nahual) is a flesh shifter mutant. His powers consists in freely arranging his body mass and transforming into any animal that has walked on Earth provided he's got the knowledge of how the animal physiology works. The more extensive his knowledge in the animal is, the easier it becomes for him to transform. This is why turning into a Dinosaur or a Dragon is impossible for him (due the limited knowledge on said creatures). He also is part of the X-Men. He also has superior animal mental conmmunication.
Xandros is a Technomancer. He has the ability to rearrange and manipulate any sort of technology that comes into his hands. He is not able to manipulate the item only with his mind or command it to transform out of nowhere: it's more like he understands how the technology works from the inside and manipulates it. Coming from the same future as Days of Future Past, he remained in this timeline working together with Xavier to avoid that future from ever happening.
Adan (code name: Apollo) takes over the same powers as Marcos Diaz (Eclipse) from the show The Gifted. We only add the fact that he's a musician and has evolved his power to be affected by his performance, either by turning sonic waves into light particles or the opposite. He is also part of the X-Team.
Alejo (code name: Siren) is also a mutant. He occasionally will help any of the other characters, provided they are bound to his conditions. He has the power to use music to manipulate minds, induce emotions, subject them to his dominion and can create brief illusion duplicates.
Finally Dio (code name Thunderbolt) has the same exact powers of Dazzler: light manipulation, manipulation of soundwaves and turning them into light particles and sound absorption... with one added benefit: somehow, someway, his power affects also spiritual beings.

Let the violence commence!
to start with I was like what is violence about this? Now I see Also, going to go with x-men. there are other fandoms that I was mentally thinking about for some of these but i don't want to actually be murdered also, AHHHHH still enjoy asks so much
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
Charles dies before Erik of alcohol poisioning. Like there's not comics and movies where he dies of literally everything else first. The man dies at least once a day.
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
It's cherik shippers. It's us, let's be honest, I'm sure it is. What other ships are out there?
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Logan. I don't know everyone is like FUCK MAGNETO LOGAN IS THE MEOW MEOW MURDER ERIK and it's like...excuse you. I want to see them fight this out themselves. I mean Erik would win but still.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Charles is a night owl, Erik is up before the sun every morning. I've seen so much of people flipping it or saying Charles is somehow both. I'm sure the telepath doesn't get much sleep but Erik? He doesn't either. Charles just stays up late trying to tire himself out enough to sleep and Erik sleeps until he can't and then he's up and out of bed and it's like 4am.
9. worst part of canon
MOIRA FUCKING MACTAGGART. I was going to say the lack of cherik but i think we've been given that.
10. worst part of fanon
I can't really think of anything. I mean there's the constant nom-powered au that leaves me wondering what Erik's problem is then but it's nothing I have that much of an issue with. More just curious
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
I suppose Erik doesn't count? It seems like most of the general population is convinced he's just an evil villain and dislike him. Charles? I mean people seem to have the right ideas. They like Pietro and I'll take that.
13. worst blorboficiation
Going back to logan about this one
14. that one thing you see in fics all the time
A negative thing? positive? something I just noticed? no beach divorce. I see that a lot.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
I don't actually see that much fan art. I don't know? Cherik kissing? That seems to be most of what I see
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
The fics based in canon where Charles can just suddenly walk and is fully able-bodied. Like if he's using a cane or walker or something sure, all for that but like post-apocalypse and he's walking or they're on Genosha and it's magic.
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
Misunderstandings, secret relationships, and insecurity are all tags I start ao3 for almost daily
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
Still want more dofp fics where Erik is there as Charles's powers return and sees the pain he seems to be in. Or fics dealing with Erik's mental state after solitary. I can't write them all by myself. Someone help me.
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
mpreg is coming to mind. the idea of Charles and Erik having a biological child? Charles pregnant during Cuba and getting Erik to come back that way? OR Erik leaving, realizing he's pregnant, and then coming back to Charles to protect their child? YES
20. part of canon you found tedious or boring
Jean Grey.
21. part of canon you think is overhyped
Honestly, not to keep bringing it up, but still haven't seen the Logan movies
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
It's the little things. Erik saving Charles as they crash on the beach. Paris. The way Charles winces when he sits in Darwin's cab during first class. Oh also "you're always sorry, Charles, and there's always a speech"
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
Similarities between Erik and Shaw I think. I hate when people are like "Oh so now you're turning into the man that killed your mother" no, he's not turning into a nazi fuck off. He's making some...decisions. but he's not literally turning into shaw.
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
...how bad the last two movies were. Don't get me wrong, they weren't great. They certainly weren't the level of the first class and dofp, but they had their moments. I don't think they were entirely terrible and some people insist they weren't worth the time watching them.

X-men 97: My favorite version of the X-men so far
X-men 97 is one of the best Marvel cartoons of all time and certainly my favorite version of a X-men project ever. That is saying a lot since there is the Animated Series, all the movies, X Men Evolution, Wolverine and the X-men and etc., but I stand by it. It is a deep, well written show that speaks to complex, real world issues of racism, gender politics, apartheid and genocide, and etc.
The storyline was rushed, but well written and interesting and the characters were captivating and fleshed out. I enjoy reading the comics, but for someone who likes to see and hear characters I love cartoons and live action movies. They make it seem more real for me. Hearing an accent or seeing an outfit or fight scene in real time makes things more real for me.
Firstly, the story was about mostly adults and not just about the Mansion as a school. When the focus is on the Institute as a school, it makes things juvenile and centered on teenage mutants and their problems. This might appeal to younger audiences, but I'm 37 so it doesn't for me and I also think adult issues are more interesting in general. In X-men 97, there are young people in the show like Roberto and Jubilee, but they aren't the main focus. This show hit hard immediately dealing with hate groups, race wars, and racial unrest. There was no pussyfooting around with high school problems and teen angst.
The problems that the X-men are dealing with are real and serious. Immediately, we see a hate group out to get mutants with sentinel technology. Even if you are unfamiliar with the comics or TAS you know that's bad and reminiscent of hate groups in the real world. Even the first time time you "see" Magneto, it's a simulation, but it's serious and speaking of being nature's favored children and of mutant-human coexistence which is what the show is all about. That topic alone is a big, complex heady one and that's why I love X-men 97. It pulls no punches, it starts off with big stakes for its characters and holds to that standard until the end.
Secondly, the characters are well written and funny. I read somewhere that the humor in X-men 97 is character driven and I agree. Morph is hilarious and it's not just self referential humor, but one based on knowing personality traits and etc. Teasing Scott will never not get old and Gambit throws in some good one liners. Also, Beast and his nerdiness is hilarious! The writers know how to balance humor with the dark or serious topics they write about without crossing a line or becoming corny.
Thirdly, the storyline is compelling and relatable. My only complaint being that the story was rushed a bit and I wanted more episodes instead of less, the story arc was very interesting. I loved Magneto's storyline of trying to redeem himself, the love triangle between Magneto-Rogue-Gambit, the Jean/Scott/Nathan/Madelyn storyline, Gambit's death, Genosha, and Bastion were all very fascinating. The whole series was tied up by explaining that Bastion was working with all the bad guys the whole time trying to undermine and disable mutants. Even knowing that the finale was three parts, I was left shocked and confused and surprised at what happened in them.
Finally, I love the complex and gray way that the writers handled topics and the very concept of right and wrong. I was very confused and conflicted at points of this show, but looking back I think that was very healthy for me. Life is often complex and gray and this series made me think a lot about oppression, human nature, revenge, and redemption. It often brought up more questions than answers, but I think that's ok too.
In conclusion, I loved X-men 97 and think it was a fantastically written show and will stand the test of time for well written cartoon series. It's up there with Batman TAS and Transformers. It made me think, feel, cry, and laugh and at the end of the day it was a cartoon about mutants. I never thought it would be this good when I heard about it, but it was, it really was.
