What if the turtles were in the pokemon world? And what if they were never turtles, but in fact, mutated pokemon? What if they lived in the Castelia sewers of Unova instead of New York?

Meet my Rise/Pokemon AU!! Waaaah this has been on my mind for MONTHS now. Pokemon is that one fixation that'll never leave me. I'm THAT pokemon fan that knows WAAAAY too much about the games and lore. For those that don't know,

Raph is Drednaw

Leo is Wartortle

Mikey is Torkoal

Donnie is Lapras

Yes. They are all shiny. I started with raph, since him as drednaw is pretty much a no brainer. The shiny form fit too well with him and his color scheme. Than I realized if I made him shiny, I had to make the other bros shiny as well so THEY ALL SHINY. (draxum shiny hunter confirmed?) Also dual rock typing fits well with raph's character.

Wartortle for leo was also a pretty obvious choice. I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. Long flowy tail? Yes please. I had to keep his markings somehow. Wartortle has little dark cheek spots, so I just changed them to be leo's markings. Water typing leo. Go with the flow, think on the spot, it worked out too well.

Torkoal for Mikey was another easy one. Fire turtle? Passionate, warm, also DANGEROUS (he can be a menace ok) Say no more. His powers in rise are already pyro related. Also having him shiny helped a lot with the color scheme. Torkoal is normally orange so having mikey be the yellow shiny form meant I didn't have to mess with his mask colors

Donnie on the other hand....OHHH BOI I STRUGGLED WITH YOU. I went through 4 DIFFERENT POKEMON, before deciding on the least turtle like of them all. I am aware that we do have a softshell pokemon with enamorous, but it's a legendary so thats not happening. But it was really important for me to keep donnie's soft shell and battle shell. I wanted this to be a RISE au and donnie's battle shell is pretty tied into his character. (there's also tirtouga which I almost went with, but I didn't like that both he and raph shared the exact same dual typing) Soooo, Lapras. Its more of a loch ness monster but it also draws inspiration from a placochelys (prehistoric seaturtle esque species) so IM COUNTING IT. Very unconventional but I have my reasons. Ice typing is a good offensive type, but is pretty bad defensively. Which ties into rise donnie's fighting style. If I wasn't a coward, I wouldve made donnie the biggest of the bros. Since lapras is like 8 feet tall compared to the others being like 1-3 feet. But uhhh, I swear I have an in universe explanation for why he's so small ok.

And than there's April. She is not a pokemon trainer in this au. At least not in the traditional sense. I've been with pokemon for all of my 26 years of life, and I always wanted to know what the normal people of the pokemon world are up to. Not everyone is out here collecting gym badges, travelling, or catching them all. How do non-trainers interact with the pokemon world? So that's where I'm at with April. She will get a pokemon partner, but other than that, she's just an average high schooler who befriended the turtles from a young age and takes part in all their shenanigans. I took some design elements from rosa and hilbert with her outfit, but otherwise its pretty much the same.

We'll see how far I'll take this. I've been using this as a break from my many other projects, but like everything I do, it grew too many legs and is slowly becoming its own thing.

Yippee! Thank you tumblr mutual starredforlife <3 Oh boy, D&D NPC time, this post might be a bit of a long one… I may not be the best explanatory writer right now, but I tried. :’)

Alba Elûmoine (World Setting: Trita, Deltarra, Other)

A is pretty easy since Alba is a beloved recurring NPC of mine. Alba Elûmoine, or stage name “Alba Alabaster”, is a Tiefling with Ice Devil heritage. He’s a cleric, usually of a setting’s moon goddess (Selûne, Deonora, etc.), and is legally blind. He’s typically soft-spoken, polite, and pleasant to talk to, but can be stubborn and brazen if the situation calls for it. Born to be sassy, forced to be classy.😔 It depends on what setting he appears in, but he typically works as a courtesan and often attracts clients wishing to keep their identity a secret(in his early life he makes a lot of extra money blackmailing clients who think he is more blind than he actually is). In settings where he is older and more wealthy he’s an avid collector of magical and historical artifacts and will often hire adventurers to fetch things for him. Love this guy, he’s so fun, I think I’ve had him as a character since maybe like 2018, maybe 2017? Thankfully he’s been very beloved, so I was not short on finding art of him. <3

Khovid Va Otsukimi (World Setting: Deltarra)

This is my warning and reminder to all GMs and OC creators to say your characters names out loud, or mid D&D game you might accidentally end up with a character named Covid, even though it’s not spelled the same way... Khovid Va is Elven and a shopkeeper in the city of Ebon'rana. His shop is called “Glasshopper” and he specializes in selling magical weapons. He’s mute and has a large horizontal scar across the front of his neck, as well as a scar across his left cheek by his mouth and right eyebrow. He can do that cool thing where he can write upside down and does that at his counter to communicate with guests (and show off). His fun trivia and secret lore is that he faked his own death and ran away from his noble family in the Feywild because they wanted him to basically become the next leader of the Autumn Court and he couldn’t take the responsibility. Khovid Va is his full first name! He just has a two-part first name. Yes, I created him in 2020, no I did not realize at the time that I named him Covid until it was too late… I don’t have many drawings of him, but here’s a very small old sketch of him.

Jortly (World Setting: Deltarra)

I actually have very few NPCs who have names starting with J so this took me a sec, but then I was reminded of Jortly (thank you hedgie). Jortly is a Tortle monk and a son of one of my player’s characters. Think about combining a turtle with one of those stretchy blue sticky hand toys and that’s basically Jortly. He talks like he’s so worried all the time and his catchphrase is “Oh gosh”.

Phonoko Silverscribe (World Setting: Trita)

Archivist Phonoko Silverscribe is one of the three head mages of the Harmonic Circle Mage’s Association, and right-hand to the High Mage. He’s an older Aarakocra gentleman with a bit of a nervous demeanor. He and his team are in charge of magical archival information for the association as well as he basically keeps everything in order for the other two top archmages. There’s more to him as well, but I have a couple of my players following me here who are playing in this setting right now, so I can’t reveal too much at the moment, he might be a more relevant character at a later time. :)) this drawing and design of him is by @hedgehogofspades!

I tend to just assume everyone is always more right/correct/knowledgeable than me, about everything, which I’m trying to get better at but it’s hard.

Amsterdam, Tokyo/Japan, France/Paris

What are the top two words your friends would use to describe you?

Creative and um? Safe? I’m the friend you go to when you need a rest-stop from whatever’s going on ya know? I’ll bake you cookies/cook you dinner, I’ll do a movie marathon, I’ll stage a craft day etc. Like I’m not the best at knowing what to say in tough situations but I’m v proud that my friends all seem to appreciate that I’ll listen and I’ll always be there if they just want time and fun distraction activities.

Favourite beverage?

Oat milk latte with hazelnut my beloved. That and your bog standard builder’s tea w/ oatmilk and honey.

Are you more independent, or need lots of people around you?

Soooo introverted. So so protective of my alone time. I need… certain people around me though. Definitely not lots. But I go a bit crazy if I go too long without speaking to anyone. Perpetually calling my mother and bestie with essay length opinions on media and life updates etc. but in general I need 3-5 business days to prepare for in-person anything.

Uhhh, yyyyyesssss? It's probably not what you're thinking lmao-

In my little au, the "Y/n" character is the vocaloid, and the DCA boys are their normal selves.

Reader's voicebank character is called Hoshihime, and starts out as just that- a voicebank with a drawn design (like Miku).

A young mechanic at the plex decided to make an AI for the character and gave the AI a voice using the voicebank. For a while "Hoshihime" lives on a computer in P&S, having little interaction with any of the animatronics or other staff members.

One day the AI is discovered by Moon, who overhears it singing on it's own while he was on patrol. He fell in love with the voice immediately, but was unable to find the source of the voice so referred to the mysterious singer as "Nightingale".

Eventually, a body is made for the Hoshihime AI, and it finally is able to walk around on its own for the first time. She (the AI is programmed with feminine pronouns btw) has a hard time adjusting, but eventually figures it out and meets the other animatronics, including Sun and Moon.

Moon recognizes her almost immediately as his beloved Nightingale, and falls in love all over again, much to Sun's disdain.

Sun and Moon are newly separated in this au, with a purely platonic relationship - they don't even refer to each other as brothers, they're just best friends.

Sun is skeptical about this new animatronic wandering around that appeared out of nowhere, but eventually he comes to find that she's not all that bad... and he ends up with a crush on her as well.

Fazbear Entertainment finds out about "Hoshihime", and ends up buying the rights to her voicebank and character, as well as requiring the animatronic to perform.

So yeah, probably not what you were expecting.
