I might be alone with this but I hate how more and more things become subscription based.

I miss buying music on CD and loading them on my phone/MP3 player. I miss buying software for life. I miss buying software in an actual real life store, excitedly read the description on the box on the way home and putting the CD/DVD in my computers disc-reader to install it.

I miss the clicking and clacking keyboards used to have. I miss the grayish white color everything around computers used to have.

I miss the times where my computer mouse didn't glow in 5 different colors. And I miss the times I was not asked to use some sort of cloud service all the time I use my PC. I miss physical buttons on my phones. And I miss having to bring a camera to take pictures.

But I suppose those times are over. Now you subscribe to music and software thus not owning them anymore. Now you type one near silent super thin keyboards. Now everything glows in at least 3 colors. Now your phone is just a screen that handles your appointments, contacts, navigation and what not else.

Times have changed. And I for one feel a little left behind by it.

Maybe I'm just old school. Maybe I just need to get used to those things. But there is this little part in me, that just can't quite let go just yet.

People talk about how the smartphone was what really allowed to the boomers to go online but I like to do everything possible on the laptop/desktop and trying to do anything on the phone makes me feel like a boomer yelling about the damn kids and their impossible-to-use new technology, I fucking hate it.
