AHH oh....my heart......it still makes me weak that Caleb built a tower that was such a reflection--a physical manifestation--of all his love, and it's still a place where he's haunted and tormented by the most painful parts of his past. Enshrines it.

Thinking always of Caleb caught in the blazing fire of The Tower, and how Molly ran to douse the flames and gave him a forehead kiss the first time he ever saw that look in Caleb's eyes. The difference between Caleb's fall in The Tower--what's meant to be an objective, omniscient perspective--and the Caleb we see in Molly's deck as The Magician. Molly seeing him as, "softness and light."

Thinking of Taliesin saying how rough it is that Caleb would still torment himself in the tower. Thinking of Kingsley one day feeling exactly the same, telling Caleb he doesn't have to keep hurting himself like that--

Eeeh- maybe there's a nicer way to put it but, she can come off that way. Here's the lore;

The hatred of psychics and the water curse came from Dona's side of the family. There was still some bias from Augustus, but mostly from her. She was (honestly reasonably) pissed off when she discovered her husband had been lying to her about him and her own children being psychics. The final straw was when Razputin was sent away. He was only supposed to be at that institution until he "got better" but they had been performing in other parts of the country for a long time. They received a letter months too late informing them Thorney Towers was shutting down, and by the time they arrived the lake had already been filled in and they were told nobody was left. All the stress of the situation led to Augustus and Donatella splitting, taking their psychic and non-psychic children respectively.

Both parents feel awful about what happened. They just have different ways of expressing it.
