I'm glad that a friend asked this years ago so I can find the answers in our chat.

Following the abrupt death of her parents, Ruri was immediately sent to the explorers HQ. The arrival of the young genius girl whose formulas helped with technology production for the explorers raised quite the stir and caught the attention of some of the executives. "Hmmmm... I could make make good use of that girl" thought Spinel as he smiled to himself. To him another brilliant mind would help him rise to new heights within the organisation and leave his colleagues behind in the dust. Amethio on the other hand was shocked to find out about another member his age. What worried him even more was the fact that Spinel had his sights set on her. In his eyes, a young girl with no experience of dealing with Spinel beforehand will easily fall prey to his manipulation. During the executive meeting where Ruri was being introduced Amethio locked eyes with Spinel and saw nothing but pure coldness and cruelty. He immediately knew that he would have to use every move in his disposal to get the girl to join his team or else he would live with an everlasting regret.

Vee's notes: I had a lot of fun doing this illustration and I love adding details to Pokemon trainers clothing that are reminiscent of their partner pokemon. This illustration has a more happier Ruri and shows how she opened up a little more ever since she joins Amethio's team. In the illustration above Hamber forces Amethio to take Ruri for an outing as a way to develop thicker skin. Ruri makes Amethio win the Jigglypuff plushie for her as she is curious to see how it would feel when someone she likes wins something for her. The poor Jigglypuff plushie is being subjected to his crushing grip as he fumes at Ruri and Hamber.

An overexaggerated claim expelling from his throat before turning over to look at his cradily. The fossil pokemon remaining still as stone as she presumingly listened to her trainer talk. Ruri's hands graced over the journal's papers, then began to flip back; scanning across pages of texts and drawings. Either based on observations or voices that spoke in his head like low hanging fruit--for him to take and devour till one day he might reach the top where it is most fruitful.

Calling out to nobody, the scientist's brows furrowing, he had to be missing something. A detail, a truth that had not been revealed to him, not yet-

With his volume raised a bit too high, the door to the rest of the plane opening as one of the attendants looked over and down at where he sat. An awkward smile pressed over his face--oops. He would gladly of explained what he was speaking of, who he was trying to reach...but it wasn't the time nor place, not to mention this entire scenario was simply frustrating.

" oh, dear, i was just talking to myself... "

His voice trailing with a dismissive wave of his hand, watching as the attendant slowly backed away and shut the connecting door. A look of insanity clearly painted on her face. So many thought that, really it was short sighted of them! Ruri's eyes wandering from the door then back to the pages, staring, his fingers beginning to shake.

Ruri's voice lowered to a hushed whisper, staring at the lucky page he had flipped on to. The glistening charcoal to illustrate a blackened sphere, cut open into glory--into dreams. A memory he wanted to see, a memory he might become.

Obey Me! Pokemon Team

All of this was made using the pokemon trainer card makers on pokecharms.com. i couldn't fit this all in one post partly bc of explanations. But mostly be of the 10 pic max. Badges don't mean anything they're just there to look cool.

I spent way too much time (5 hours) looking at Pokemon and making teams then making the cards and sometimes completely redoing the cards but i have no regrets. Please enjoy!

Leviathan

Rotom - obviously he's got the tech savvy Pokemon. Rotom can also take any form. Levi would love a pokemon like this.

Porygon Z - ^^ the most advanced and sleek of the porygons. Just makes sense for him.

Pikachu - Specifically Cosplay Pikachu!! Especially the Pop Star cosplay! (As shown above) It looks just like Ruri-Chan's outfit to him. But he does change it occasionally. Pikachu also reminds him of the most popular character in Mononoke Land.

Lugia - guardian of the seas. A flap of it's wings can cause storms of mass destruction. Because of this it rests at the bottom of a lake. Very reminiscent of a certain pet of Levi's

Henry 2 (Gyarados) - Caught as a Magikarp and is obviously a nod to his beloved gold fish. He honestly didn't expect him to evolve but here we are. Still loves him like he's a tiny fish. Just makes sense! Levi's pokemon Team was the quickest to make.

Henry (Arbok) - Just like the one he lost. Big snake! Arbok is 11'6. BIG.

What are Team AZRE’s parents’ allusions?

Adam’s:

Cerise is the cursed rose from Beauty and the Beast. She shares Adam’s rose imagry, her emblem is actually Adam’s but without the thorned stem, she has a more pink colouring for the pink rose compared to Adam’s pure red rose, and it was her “wilting” (aka passing away) that pushed Adam to becoming more like a beast out of grief. 

Alon is the Sarangay from Phillipine mythology. He’s a bull Faunus with the horns Adam inherited, is related to water similar to how the Sarangay is meant to be specifically half water buffalo, and he wears a blue jeweled earring in his ear as a nod to his allusion. 

Obviously, Ghira and Hajimu are his adopted parents, but Ghira’s allusion is still Bagheera from the Jungle Book to fit in with the White Fang’s allusions. 

Hajimu’s allusion in the White Fang is Raksha, the mother wolf, while her personal allusion is okuri-ōkami from the Kanto and Kinki regions of Japan. She’s a wolf Faunus, and the dual thoughts of the okuri-ōkami is that it will eat travellers who fall over, but will protect those who treat it right, which is pretty fitting for Hajimu’s caring yet fierce personality. 

Zanthus’:

Xanthe is Eurystheus from Greek Mythology. He’s the more Greek inspired character in Zanthus’ family, and while he’s not the king, he’s still very much the one in charge of the family. He’s also the trainer of Zanthus and Argenta, who is Hercules, and even trains Argenta more when Zanthus runs away to ensure she’s the stronger sibling, putting her through her own “trials” while Zanthus was pretty much left for dead.

Sable, or Sigal, is Tzipphorah from Biblical myths. I designed her to have more of a design inspired by Jordan clothing, where Midian people like Tzipphorah would’ve lived, and gave her a sand based Semblance to allude to the desert. Her emblem is a cat with the tail in the shape of a shepherd’s hook, similar to the staff that Moses used himself. Her story doesn’t really have much in common with Tzipphorah, so her allusion isn’t as strong as others.

Ruri’s:

Hisui is Takemikazuchi, a deity in Japanese mythology. His last name comes from the Takemikazuchi shrine in Kashima, with Hisui also being considered as a lord in his city. It directly connects to Ruri’s allusion; Namazu, where Takemikazuchi is shown to subdue the catfish, alluding to Hisui’s attempts to rein back Ruri’s desires of freedom, though not as much as his wife. 

Shinju is the maneki-neko, or the beckoning cat, in Japanese folklore. Her name, background in a family-run business and design all allude to her wealthy character, same as the maneki-neko being connected to wealth and business. She’s also very business oriented, being the one to really bring up and run their city. She’s left handed too, a nod to how the left hand being raise on a maneki-neko is meant to bring in more business.

Eirian’s:

Icheku is Shaka Zulu. His last name is Zulu, he’s inspired around the Zulu clothing and culture, and his ram Faunus heritage is actually a fun little nod to the famous horned battle formation that Shaka Zulu commonly used. 

Clementine is based off two allusions. Her allusion with her other two sisters is Macha, one of the three figures that make up the Morrígan; which is her mother’s allusion. Her Huntress profession and experience in battles leads towards the goddess of war, and one of the versions of Macha is the daughter of Aed the Red; alluding to her father whom Clementine got her orange hair from. 

Her personal allusion is Boudicca. It fits in with her old team allusion theme of historical war leaders, like her husband being Shaka Zulu, but her orange hair and more Scottish names alludes more to her personal allusion.

Lucifer

He supports you, just don’t let it get in the way of your studies 

Doesn’t really understand why but he doesn’t voice it aloud, and he likes that you’re actually making the effort too, showing a surprising amount of self discipline

He was amused (and worried) when you started working out with Beel, but was relieved when you came back okay and not missing any limbs

Still makes him worry though

He’s too busy to try and workout with you, but he does try to change his eating habits so you don’t feel like you’re doing this alone

(And this would explain why he’s been just a little bit crankier in the mornings since he cut back on his coffee intake. He won’t give it up completely, but he’s trying for you)

He does well keeping you on track though and knowing how strict he can be, it never got to the point of being overwhelming. It’s just his way of encouragement because he really means well and wants the best for you

Praises you so much, and you know it’s the truth too because Lucifer doesn’t just say anything to anyone. And takes his time in showing just how he is of you too, especially behind closed doors

He’s super proud of you, and he’s smug about it too. You’re his, you bear his pact mark on you, so he can’t help but show off your progress. It’s his sin, after all

Mammon

He somewhat understands, but doesn’t at the same time. You look beautiful, stunning, hot, sexy FINE to him, but if that’s what you wanna do, you’re not doing it alone!

Mammon is a model, so working out and healthy diets aren’t new to him. He takes on the role as your very own personal trainer, even if he forgets that you can’t eat all the food that he can or do everything that he can since you’re human

He’s confused but he’s got the right spirit!

His energy is just contagious! Doesn’t matter what you guys did, whether it was eating something instead of the usual Hellfire noodles or coming back after you guys finished a run, he’s always facing you with a blinding smile on his face every time

Mammon is basically your partner in crime and vice versa, so DUH he was gonna do this with you! What kind of first man would he be if he didn’t?

You’re not alone in this MC, and he’ll make sure it stays that way

Leviathan

OOF, he feels like he’s the wrong person to approach with this

It’s not like he doesn’t want to support you! He does! But, we all know how he feels about doing anything physical or doing anything that will take him away from his safe haven...

(With the exception of video games, anime, and Ruri-chan of course)

He REALLY doesn’t understand why you’re doing this, to him it’s like pure torture!

He finds it endearing to be honest, and he’s glad to help. Maybe he can find some helpful information in one of his books...

Believe it or not, if he does do any type of workout with you (which would be somewhat rare), it would be stretches, only because it is somewhat calming and helps with how tense his body can be

And he enjoys the time he gets to spend with you

But he’s never afraid to give you motivation or give you compliments; he does it proudly and rather bold

Even if it seems like he’s just teasing you, Satan is being 100% honest. You’re already perfect in his eyes, but it just makes it more obvious seeing you doing something for yourself and being happy about it

Asmodeus

I feel like Asmo would be one of the most helpful brothers (besides from Beel of course) because he likes to take care of himself, and that includes eating healthy and working out

Even though doesn’t like to sweat and he hates the idea of feeling gross, he won’t whine (as much) because it’s something that he wants to do. He’s very big on self-love and having confidence, and he’s a firm believer in feeling good about yourself always, no matter what shape or size you are. After all, you gotta feel good to look good!

Plus, he has taken some devilishly selfies of his sweat glistening on him and he knows his fans go wild for those~

But this isn’t about him right now, you should’ve said something sooner MC, he’s glad to help!

GYM SELFIES

Also prepare to wear matching gym gear too. You guys are going to make progress and in style!

One of his favorite full body workouts hat he loves to do with you is yoga. Not only does it really become a peaceful time for you both to share, but it also gives him the opportunity to show just how flexible he is and how flexible he can make you~

Seriously though, Asmo is here for this! He will always be the first one to praise you for your accomplishments, and even if you feel like it’s small or that you didn’t really accomplish anything, he’ll make sure to prove you wrong

Beelzebub

He caught you doing some workouts in your room, and when he spotted you, it only meant one thing-

You didn’t even have to ask him for help because he was already 100% on board with it

It’s only a handful of times that you’ve seen Beel be so serious before, so you were shook tbh

But don’t worry, it’s still gonna be tons of fun for you both!

He’s not gonna micromanage you or anything, and he invites you to his workouts all the time. Even if you have to remind him sometimes that you’re a human and you can’t just lift 1000 pound weights like it’s nothing-

The best spotter, no questions asked. If he even thinks that you’re struggling or he sees your arm shake in the slightest, he’s already behind you, holding up the bar and asking if you’re okay

If weights aren’t your thing or if you don’t feel comfortable going to the gym, he doesn’t mind doing at home workouts either! And he’s the best at correcting your form too

Even though he’s known for his insatiable appetite, he’ll still eat healthy with you. He may not know a lot about human food, but he does know what’s good for the body

Of course he still eats full course meals and will just burn it off like nothing, but he can skip out on Madame Screams’ pastries if it means keeping you motivated

You try to tell him that it’s okay for him to eat whatever, but he’s already shaking his head at you, telling you that you guys are in this together, and that’s that

You ended up splitting some sweets with him on your cheat day because you a.) felt bad and b.) wanted to thank you for being the best gym partner ever

Not to mention the encouragement that he’s always giving you! If it’s an off day or you feel like you didn’t do your best or enough, he’s already there giving you a smile and pulling you back on your feet, saying how much you’ve improved and how far you’ve come, and Beel isn’t the type to just say anything. He really means every word, and it’s more than enough to keep you going

Belphegor

You weren’t coming home for your daily afternoon cuddle session(s), and when you did come home you were drenched in sweat and brushed him off for a shower. It went from occurring just once a week to every other day, and it was making him moodier than usual

When you explained it to him, he was whiny but supportive. Of course he supports your journey to a better lifestyle! He’ll just be supporting you from the comfort of his bed-

You’re definitely dreaming if you think you’re about to get him to join you working out (you should’ve went to Beel if that’s what you’re looking for)

But he’s great at being your cheerleader though! He stays in the room while you’re working out and he’s really cheering you on with his little chants (I mean it’s while he’s lazing around but still are you really surprised?), but you can’t help but still find it endearing and a way to stay positive

If ya’ll seen the new episode you understand what I mean lmao

He’s not one for moving around, but he can help you with what you eat

He’s pretty decent in the kitchen, and he’s got some safe-for-humans healthy snacks that he “borrowed” from Beel and some recipes that he got from Barbatos and Asmo

(Somehow Solomon overheard and volunteered himself to cook and Belphie doesn’t think he ever ran so fast in his life before when he walked away to go grab his “recipe book”)

Makes small remarks about your progress and says it like it’s the most obvious thing in the world, showing that he does notice the changes you’re making even if you don’t. Really helps you stay motivated!

His words may come off as dry and sarcastic sometimes, but he means well. He may have a bit of a hard time showing that he cares, but he does. And he cares a lot about you, more than he can express

Is also prepared to give you cuddles as both rewards and to make up from before

Ruri's brows pursed as a finger tapped against the well loved keyboard. Numbers and letters without ink and carvings from consistent nights of tapping and typing.

From one page, to the next, to the next. Ruri clicked next and next. It was odd, the difference of effect.

A quiet murmur echoed from his throat, his brow pursing downward. Kalos might be an epicenter for activity, somewhere he needed to go eventually ... but it wasn't there, there was no way it was there. Somehow, whispers grew tired and annoyed, aggravated and impatient in the presence of mega stones, keystones ... even at the sight of the sundial itself. It was a question to be answered later.

Was it inherently negative? Ruri hummed then shook his head. " data is inconclusive. further research is needed. it's effects on a greater sample size. "

A correction that he was more or less satisfied with, for now. Alola had so many fascinating properties already, but he couldn't let himself get distracted! ... though whispers called for him there, from within the gems so scattered. He really had to wonder ...

He was most familiar with the crystalizing of a being. It brough tremors to his hands, a brief spam of a letter before he lifted his hands from the keyboard and sighed. How long would he have to shake? Once he found it, it would stop forever. He wouldn't be plagued anymore. To be able to comprehend...Yes, yes.

Lucifer was taking care of you, holding an ice pack to your cheek, making sure you were as comfortable as you could.

He smirked, knowing which way your conversation was going.

Mammon

He’s the type that will record you doing the most bizarre shit just to show it later to you

He convinced you Luke is a dog with a human form, so you pet his head and scratched him behind his eyes saying: “Good boy, such a good boy”

Mammon’s laughs ended when you eyed him and asked: “Hey, you’re actually good looking, cutie. Wanna bang?”

He told you you could stay in his room until you got better. When he returned with some tea for both of you, he found you trying to take your top off, standing in the middle of his room. He left the tray on his desk and helped you put the top back on, trying not to think about the black lacy bra he had just seen.

“Shhh! There’s a snake!” you warned him. He looked at where you were pointing and saw his scarf was laying on the floor.

“Okay… why did you take your clothes off?”

“So she doesn’t see me” you explained, looking at him with big eyes.

Satan chuckled.

“Okay. How about we get to bed? The snake can’t reach us there. You can try and sleep a little”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes”

You obeyed and laid on Satan’s bed. He turned around to take his jacket off, leaving it nearly hanged. He then took off his shoes. When he finally sat next to you, he realized you were long asleep. With a smile, he covered you with a blanket and picked a book to keep him company until you woke up.

Asmodeus

"You're so pretty" you whimpered when he was fixing the pillow behind your head.

"I know, you're pret--- are you crying?"

Tears streamed down your face as an amused Asmodeus looked at you, baffled.

"You're so pretty, so so pretty… you’re making my cry... maybe you could go out with me?" you asked, batting your eyelashes. Asmodeus chuckled and nodded.

"Sure thing. Once you feel better we can go out, okay?"

"But I'm good nowww" you groaned, making a pout. He put a strand of your hair behind your ear and you smiled. “Lets go dancing”

“Oooh, I like that” Asmodeus smiled.

“It’s because you’re preeettyyyy” you babbled, earning another laugh from him.

To distract you, he started doing your nails, liking the fact you kept calling him pretty every chance you could. He had never seen you act so cute and he had to admit he was really into this side of yours.

Beelzebub

He carried you back to his bedroom, where he laid you on his bed. He was pouring a glass of water for you when he felt you tugging on his clothes.

“My teeth...!” you mumbled.

“Your teeth are out. The surgery is done, MC, try to get some rest, okay?” he smiled softly, leaving the glass on his bedside table.

“You’re doctor too?”

Beel arched his eyebrow.

“What? No” he stated, a little concerned.

“You’re a model? A trainer? Because damn, those arms can choke me anytime" Beel opened his eyes in surprise, looking around him to see if this was one of his brother’s pranks

What are everyone’s teams in your Pokemon au? Do you have a plot set out or is it a more causal au?

You'd better fucking BELIEVE we have a plot set up, I have poured so much effort into the Pokemon au

Okay, so: when it comes to teams, I decided that everyone should have at least one legendary Pokemon in their party as a way to be faithful to the ace monster concept, but it wasn’t until much later into the au that I realized I’d failed to do that with Sora’s team, which led to a very fun plot point involving his secret 7th Pokemon he keeps in his box

Teams under the cut because it’s gonna be a long one, boys

Yuya has: Groudon, Sandshrew, Popplio, Hippopotas, Aipom, and Ekans

In his box, he’s got Phanphy, Charmander, Politoad, Ducklett, Liepard, Skorupi, and Lycanroc (Midnight form)

I wanted him to have as many Pokemon as he could that reminded me of the monsters in his deck, and since Yuya is a coordinator in this au instead of a regular trainer, it just felt right that he’d have a lot of different partners he could swap out for various contests

Also I’m mad that there isn’t a legendary dragon that looks like Odd Eyes, so I had to give Yuya Groudon instead, making him the only Yu boy in this au to not have a legendary dragon type Pokemon

Yuto has: Eternatus, Bisharp, Aegislash, Aggron, Lucario, and Shadow Rider Calyrex

Okay listen, I know I was supposed to only give everyone One legendary Pokemon, but with Calyrex I feel justified because it looks So Much like it could be one of Yuto’s Phantom Knights, I mean

Yuto gets to have two legendaries to make up for Arc-V killing him off so early into the show

Aside from this guy, the rest of Yuto’s team just felt like it should be comprised of steel types ow the edge so that’s what I gave him. His Pokemon are as edgy as he tries to appear to be and that is enough to amuse me.

There also weren’t exactly many good Pokemon equivalents of his archetype, so I made do with what I had.

Yugo has: Latios, Scizor, Claydol, Porygon 2, Ponyta (Shiny), and Sudowoodo

Yugo was honestly so hard to come up with a team for because all his Speedroid cards are just like... toys and stuff for the most part, so I agonized over what I should pick for him for a Long time. In the end, I feel like I got close enough to his general aesthetic with the Pokemon I picked.

(His Ponyta is there because of Speedroid Horse Stilts, and while it is a shiny, the dumbass has no idea about it, and thinks he just happened to get a special blue horse that was born a little differently- he never claimed to be smart.)

He also deadass thought Sudowoodo was a grass type for the longest time. Rin had to be the one to tell him it wasn’t. 

“Yugo. Sudowoodo? It sounds like pseudo? As in fake wood?”

“Ohhhhh is that what its name means? Wow Rin you’re so smart.”

No Yugo you’re just exceptionally stupid.

Yuri has: Naganadel, Seviper, Victreebel, Toxicroak, Vileplume, and Roserade

For the most toxic of battlers, I felt it only necessary to give Yuri an all poison type team. I included an even mix of plants in there to tie into his Predaplant deck, Seviper for the snake eye vibes, and Toxicroak... just feels right, you know. I couldn’t find any other poison plant themed Pokemon that seemed like they’d fit his vibe, so he gets a poison frog instead.

Yuzu has: Meloetta, Sylveon, Meowstic (Female), Gardevoir, Florges, and Jigglypuff

I tried to stick with Pokemon that had very feminine vibes for Yuzu, since her deck is comprised of pretty singing ladies, so Meloetta and Jigglypuff in particular feel very fitting in that regard.

Serena has: Cresselia, Delcatty, Glameow, Lopunny, Persian, and Pyroar (Female)

The moon vibes with Cresselia felt perfect for Serena, and as for the rest of her team, all cats and a bunny to pay homage to her Lunalight deck ^^

Rin has: Celesteela, Mismagius, Hatterene, Glaceon, Froslass, and Chimecho

Her team vibes with the witch part of her Wind Witch deck, at least for Mismagius and Hatterene. Glaceon, Froslass, and Chimecho are there due to the etymology of her name, where possible meanings of it include “cold” and “bell”, which I thought was pretty cool, no pun intended.

Ruri has: Galarian Articuno, Pidgeot, Noctowl, Chatot, Altaria, and Unfezant (Male)

Some softer birds for the soft bird girl, for the most part. I liked the thought of her team being all birds like her Lyriluscs, and just... yeah. They’re all very friendly birds that Ruri’s bonded pretty closely with. Also I made sure she had Galarian Articuno for no reason other than it is purple like her, and I think that’s all the reason I need.

Gong has: Kartana, Machoke, Samurott, Golisopod, Hariyama, and Conkeldurr

Gong was really easy to assign a team to- just had to find as many samurai themed Pokemon as possible, and fill in the rest with really strong fighting types, like Machoke, Hariyama, and Conkeldurr.

Shingo has: Type: Null, Dusclops, Misdreavus, Spiritomb, Decidueye, and Cramorant

With Shingo, I tried to go for Pokemon that had the same vibes as some of his Abyss Actors, and I think Dusclops is the best example of this. Tbh I am very proud of giving him a Type: Null because Type: Null is an amalgamation of other Pokemon, something that was created in a lab to be a fighting machine. There’s nothing natural about Type: Null, and it’s kind of terrifying to Yuya specifically, who’s always viewed Pokemon as creatures to befriend. This experiment created purely to kill... unnerves him, and serves as a very good foil to his beliefs when it comes to Pokemon.

On a sillier note, I chose Cramorant purely because of this quote from its bulbapedia page: “Cramorant are also rather unintelligent as they can't remember which Pokémon they fight in mid battle, but never forget Trainers that they trust. However, they try to attack their Trainers if they steal food from them.”

I just thought the idea of Shingo having this dumb bird that occasionally pecks at him over food would be funny tbh, gotta dunk on the rival at least a little bit.

Sora has: Banette, Vanillish, Swirlix, Stufful, Litleo, and Buneary

In his box, he has a Guzzlord

I feel like Sora’s team is very straightforward, as it’s a mix of sweets themed Pokemon, and Pokemon that represent monsters in his deck- Stufful for Flufflal Bear, Litleo for Fluffal Leo, and Buneary for Fluffal Rabbit. Guzzlord... is relevant later on in the plot after shit goes down, that’s all I’ll say for now.

Masumi has: Diancie, Sableye, Corsola, Aurorus, Tyranitar, and Lycanroc (Dusk form)

Gem Knight girl deserved to have a bunch of good rock type Pokemon, and Diancie is like. The best possible legendary I could have given someone like her lol, the crystal aesthetic is just perfect for her. Not much to say here honestly, I just really vibed with these specific rock types and thought they’d make a good team for her.

Yaiba has: Zeraora, Kecleon, Pangoro, Scyther, Purugly, and Stantler

So I actually threw this list together just now because I realized Masumi was the only member of her trio to have a full team, and that just wasn’t right. I tried to base this team off the XX-Sabers as well I could, but it was a little hard with how many humanoid cards Yaiba has. With his legendary, I actually chose it based off this monster right here! 

I think they’ve got similar enough vibes aesthetically for Zeraora to fit him. Scyther is based on Emmersblade, Kecleon on Ragigura, Stantler on Garsem, Purugly on Gardestrike, and Pangoro... Honestly, it just makes me think of Yaiba himself when I look at him. I think they’d get along well.

Hokuto has: Deoxys, Espeon, Grumpig, Starmie, Lunatone, and Malamar

Psychic type Pokemon just sort of felt right for him to have, considering that his deck is based on constellations and has an overall space theme to it. Not sure why that translates over to psychic in my brain, but you know what, it looks right, I love this team for him, and I’m not gonna question it.

I especially think Deoxys makes a good legendary for him considering it is literally a space alien, and Hokuto’s whole thing is space, so yeah, he gets to have the space alien.

Shun has: Galarian Moltres, Skarmory, Fearow, Dodrio, Staraptor, and Talonflame

Pretty straightforward team I feel- it’s all birds of prey for the Raid Raptor boy, and I just thought the Galarian version of Moltres was neat. Makes me think of his Blaze Falcon since they’re both black and red.

Dennis has: Hoopa, Mr. Mime, Delphox, Zoroark, Alakazam, and Hawlucha

Hoopa seemed like a very good legendary for Dennis to have, given his deck archetype and all, he just kind of looks like a little circus dude. Its unbound form makes me think about the swap Dennis has when it gets revealed that he’s actually been a double agent the whole time, and the play gloves finally come off.

The rest of his team... I feel like they speak for themselves. I tried to give him Pokemon that matched up with his deck archetype, so there’s Delphox to rep the fire themed monsters, Mr. Mime because it just fits Dennis’ general personality- and I love the thought of those two being friends and just copying each other’s theatric poses. Chaotic dynamic duo.

(Also: Zoroark's ability letting it disguise itself as another Pokemon is just another parallel to Dennis pretending to be one of the good guys at first, and I love it)

Shinji has: Buzzwole, Beedrill, Vespiquen, Ribombee, Kricketune, and Leavanny

I tried to give the bee man all the bees I could, but there are only so many bee Pokemon out there 😔 I knew the rest of his team had to be insect types to make up for it, so I picked Kricketune because he is just... a friend... a musical buddy who definitely gets along well with the kids. Leavanny is just a bug mom who also helps patch up the kids’ clothing when they get tears in them, which I just love the idea of. Sweet bug mom whose dex entry talks about how they sew for other Pokemon looks after her trainer’s kids when she’s not battling.

Crow has: Murkrow, Braviary, Starly, Swellow, Pikipek, and Corviknight

Bunch of birds for my Blackwing user... This team was partially picked out by June, and it was mostly meant for the Other Pokemon au, but I don’t really see a reason to change his team here. Crow is the one person without a legendary on his team, which makes me sad, but there really isn’t a legendary bird out there that fits his vibes, so as much as I wanna give him a legendary, he will have to make do without one. Sorry Crow.

Hoo... that’s finally all the teams down. Now I can talk about the plot! So, as I briefly mentioned in a previous post (I think), this particular au is inspired by Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum! It’s the era where contests really became a big thing, which is perfect for a lot of these characters because it’s easy to translate dueltaining over to coordinating in this world. Much like in canon, Yuya aspires to be as great a coordinator as his dad was, and strives to entertain people the way Yusho could. He’s not much for battling, and far prefers getting to show off his Pokemon’s talents in contests than anything. 

Academia is going to play the role of Team Galactic in this au, which is incredibly fitting with their mission in canon: to remake the universe in their leader’s image. In this case, with Leo Akaba taking on the role of Cyrus, his intent is, presumably, to either destroy the universe that took his daughter from him, or create a new one where she can live once again, no matter the cost.

Sora being a key member in Team Galactic is a very big part of the plot in this au: his mission was to capture one of the lake legendaries, Uxie, since Leo needed all three of them for his plan to remake the universe, but things don’t exactly go well for him, and he ends up losing his battle against Uxie, resulting in all of his memories being locked away, and essentially making him a blank slate.

Side note: the Galactic grunt haircut reminds me a lot of Sora, I mean just look at it

Practically same bangs as him, just add an upturned ponytail and you’ve got my son.

This post is getting very long... but I will add one last plot related thing to it before I go: Uxie can erase memories, Mesprit can erase emotions, and Azelf can erase willpower. All three of these lake legendaries play a very important role in the plot, due to being the keys to Leo Akaba’s plans to remake the universe. Sora was touched by Uxie, effectively doing away with all memory he has of being in Team Galactic. Yuya ends up touched by Mesprit in an attempt to save them, and subsequently loses his emotions as a result. Riley?

Riley had been affected by all three of them before the plot began, which is why she is the way she’d been in Arc-V: Emotionless, unable to remember anything about her past except for those brief, fleeting flashes of memory when put into certain situations she’d experienced before, and without any will of her own. She’s so dependent on her older brother because she quite literally has no clue what to do with herself without being told to, and needs orders to function.
