TFClub Battle Roller Arcee was apparently too cool for 2009 to get released. obsessed with her bling / purple spark. also we would have gotten a faceplate Arcee she honestly looks kind of Maxima as a car before Maxima was even conceptualized. love that she still has back stacks. source here

STEEL DRILL [Technobot NOSECONE] ( Combiner ) CRAFTSMAN TOYS

Now that I'm most certainly not going to be posting as often as I was - school's getting really damn rigorous - I'm going to try to get my email ring thing set up.
For a long time I've wanted to do something like this similar to a patreon - toss me a couple bucks and I email you a bunch of drawings, in proper quality and with a number of variants and formats and with layers you can take on and put off, or shaped to be different kind of backgrounds, or something - but I've also been wanting to do the same for free for the last few months.
All this is preliminary stuff, for the record - I'm probably not going to make any significant moves on this front for a while. I just want to keep everyone in the loop.
#update#not art#i won't vanish but you might not hear from me until like may. I have a capstone project to work on#frankly that might land more over here than you'd expect.#while i wanted to make a 3p transformer toy *that* is not happening#but i'm still doing some kind of creative project#its just probably going to be mostly writing and not art so i'm going to be keeping it over on my main blog where i talk about whatever#instead of here where i try to keep it limited to just pretty pictures

cant lie i think seeing someone give an excellent performance and then look me dead in the eyes when i did my followup and go "wow you really are a screen actor huh" may have given me way too much confidence vis a vis selling a narrative by being on a screen
#red rambles#<- planning my capstone project - turns out I'm not gonna be able to turn out a 3p transformer without dying during this semester#so that project is going back on the back burner and im going to take it slightly easier#by [checks notes] ripping off Remedy and doing some sort of multimedia narrative death spiral#not sure that's much easier but we'll see#if nothing else i think i can gasp and thrash and spit fake blood and choke to death on screen pretty alright

#don't ask me about the constructicons designs
So then, favorite Scrapper designs? From least to most favorite of the canon (comic, games, shows) or even from toys (third party or official)? The other five if you want too, but Scrapper for now specifically
Well, lucky me, there are few Scrapper designs that really tug at my heartstrings (and wallet if we're talking 3P and toys).
The thing I'm weird about Scrapper is that I feel some toys are shitty or just don't capture his essence! I'm not talking about it being GEEWUN It's just feeling like him. IK how this sounds because Scrapper is the most basic robot ever, but like... Hear me out. (<- insane.)
Speaking about 3P, IDC ABOUT TFC HERCULES, TOYWORLD CONSTRUCTOR, AND ESPECIALLY JINBAO GRAVITY BUILDER. I just don't like the individual robots. The Devastators are cool, but ehhhh.
Dream Star Scrapper. (this ain't IDW Scrapper, wth)
Suspenders, realistically proportioned legs, and a slutty waist. Need I say more?
As you know, I'm a sucker for a realistic alt mode, and this one really scratches the itch.
The green looks disgusting, tho. It's like baby shit or something.
Blokees Scrapper.
Best Blokees Constructicon, yes or absolutely??
This guy is so solid; I love the chunks of color in the details, the shape of his chest, and his big ol' visor and small faceplate.
When the Defender version finally comes out, I'll fucking explode.
Mecha Invasion Scrapper
This set is looking so good; I really like how unconventional it is, with the arm bots being the legs and vice versa. Here's a secret: I've been eyeing them for some time now, tho, I'm pretty sure the Devastator won't fit on my shelf (the Dev looks fire if you're wondering that.)
Honestly, the more I look at this Scrapper, I don't know if I hate him or love him, like... the head isn't Scrapper, and it's ugly at that.... The chicken legs are so fucking embarrassing.
But I can't help but be drawn to him; the green is perfect, the alt mode is ok, and the wheel placement, WOW... He's like a siren... Calling for my money.

Sunbow Scrapper.
That's the essence. Like, I know he looks the most generic out of the Constructicons... But the details. Like the perfectly iconic head that makes him look so squishable. And the chunky proportions with skinny legs and boots? PERFECT!!!
BUT
THE SHOULDER WHEELS, OR I GUESS, THE GREEN SHOULDER CIRCLES!!! THIS SHIT INFURIATES ME!! WHY COLOR IT LIKE THIS?? WHY??

This fucker from X-Transbots has been haunting me since the beginning of the year. I managed to resist the Long Haul, but, fuck, he's just so good-looking! THE GREEN, THE HEAD, THE THIGHS, THE FUCKING ARM GIMMICK, AND THAT ALT MODE???? *faints like a Victorian maiden*
Tho... Those green leg joints... Hm...
So, uh, who's gonna be the nice follower to say, "James, I love you, so I bought an X-Transbots Scrapper for you"?

Don. Figueroa.
I won't be including the War Within designs, because those kinda suck. BUT THIS? FROM THE 2009 ONGOING? It's beautiful. It has a completely different transformation and a completely different silhouette, and it still has a Scrapper essence!
If Scrapper appears in any modern Transformers show, I really wish he'd look a bit like this!
One day I'll have the courage to ask Don if he has full bodies for the 2009 Constructicons. IK Guido Guidi shares the designs he hasn't posted if you ask him, but IDK about Don... Sigh...

I wasn't kidding. The green is off, BUT:
Perfect head.
Wheels.
He's scrungly <- IMPORTANT.
Love the extra sticker detail against the green and purple monotony of Sunbow.
May I also include my favorite Scrapper fanart ever? This guy is so fucking good?? I also LOVE his Devastator, and his Scavenger is the guy ever, so fucking cute.
I won't be doing the five other Constructicons individually, but here are my favorite designs from each of them:
Long Haul: X-Transbots/CW (siiigh, only one of these is fat, but only one of these is a good toy.)
Mixmaster: Heavy Metal (chunky...)
Bonecrusher: Sunbow (I HATE WHEN HE'S BUILT LIKE A HOUSE!! THERE, I SAID IT. I like it best when he looks athletic.)
Hook: Geewun toy (No design gets the legs JUST right. It's gotta be chunky!)
Scavenger: CW (this won because I have more gripes with other designs; also, his face looks like a sad dog or something.)
#transformers#maccadam#constructicons#ask: answered#I might just be a slave to G1#I like my Scrapper too 😔#<- he says pretending to be modest#ok I'm going to sleep now

I just posted this on the Transformers subreddit, but I reason I should probably cast my net in my native environment here as well.
I'm working on a spreadsheet for personal use cataloguing the dimensions of various Transformers toys (official and 3p), and I've hit a snag with a few big ticket bots I don't own or know anyone personally who owns them (tbh none of my friends are into TF), and right now SS86 Optimus is the one I'm most curious about.
If anyone has 86 OP, could you measure his height in robot mode as well as length/width/height in vehicle mode (just the truck, no trailer or smokestacks, or at least specify), and let me know what you get?
Additionally if anyone knows or can get those same measures for any of the following official and 3P figures, I'd really appreciate it:
Any Earthrise, Kingdom, or Legacy G1 Season 1 figures
Magic Square Light of Peace
Generation Toy Gravity Builder (individual bots/vehicles & combined)
Jinbao OS Gravity Builder (same as above)
X-Transbots Cliffjumper or Hubcap
X-Transbots Windcharger or Tailgate
X-Transbots Inferno, Grapple, or equivalent
Any Mastermind Creations / Occular Max Combaticon or Protectobot
Thanks to any who respond!

Pretty sure a derivative of Microchange Blaster (as suggested by some wiki folks) is the kind of bot that has a cameo here in Season 5 Episode 5 of Madam Secretary (which is our favorite diplomacy show besides Babylon 5). anyone happen to know the name of this bot?

MEGATRON ( Deluxe ) Movie Studio Series 114 *TRANSFORMERS ONE*

Motor Mania: A triple Transformers review
Motormaster is one of my favorite Transformers characters, and, full stop, it’s kinda because of the alt mode. So let’s take a look at three of him and see what they do differently!

Going by size, let’s start with the smallest of these three, Magic Square Overlord! Or technically the Tigerwing knockoff. He follows the standard for modern Motormasters, having just the cab be the main bot while the trailer turns into the combiner frame. This leaves him as the sleekest of this lot, not needing to worry about the trailer, or even an ounce of combiner kibble. He just turns into the cab, stowing away in the combined mode as a static cube that doesn’t even provide structural support. It does mean he’s very light and sleek, however, outside of the fact that he’s Legends scale. He’s quite nimble and easy to balance for more extreme poses. There are a few quirks and minor gripes, like the legs not having any rotation past the swivel just below his hips, or his head only being a swivel, but it’s not a huge deal and he’s still very expressive. I love the brighter almost-pink he uses for his windows and other such accents. It looks good on its own and contrasts great with the deep black he’s cast in.

Transformation is clever and concise, with everything folding away neatly and tabbing together securely. In cab mode, at least. The cube just uses friction… The fake cab feet are handled quite elegantly, with his legs splitting open for them to fold down over the bumper while the fake windows spin around. The rear tires do a fun twist out of his torso and almost swap places with his arms. My only complaint about the whole process is rotating the front wheels around, being one of those steps I forget half the time because it technically doesn’t affect anything and is mildly cumbersome to correct. The final result looks great! Especially once you bring the ever-important trailer in. It’s just not Motormaster without it. Even at a scale this small he still ends up imposing.

Next up is Legacy Motormaster, who adopts the 3P party innovation into Hasbro’s official play book and does a much better job. He ends up as the most stylized of the lot, coming off as a bit slimmer and more angular. His torso gets considerably slimmer the further down you go, not straightening back out once you get to his waist like other attempts might, and that’s among the various other caveats Generations brings. Not that he looks bad, not by any means. He still very much evokes the feeling of the character, just in a manner different to what’s been done before. He does feel a tad cumbersome though, having some trouble standing in even fairly tame poses thanks to his back kibble and sub-par heels. His legs don’t have the range of movement I wish they did, either, feeling stiff and a little clunky. The colors are great, this time going for a bright white and pale purple to match the glossy black, though do note that I have applied Toyhax’s cel-shaded window set, because it’s lush and he deserves to look this good.

The transformation is a fun affair, essentially flipping the legs down over his back while his arms merge with the trailer hitch stashed on his back. Using the larger pin holes on the back of his hips as points for the top of the cab to peg into is clever, though one of them will not fit securely on mine, leaving it to always sit jutting up a touch. The trailer is… just ok this time. The front has the combiner chest plate and thigh holes sticking out completely unobscured and it muddies the whole look. It is kinda stumpy too… We don’t judge anyone’s size here, but Overload is nearly the exact same length. Like, there’s a few centimeters of difference (if even) between the front of their cabs and the backs of their trailers, despite Legacy’s cab being nearly the same size as Roadking’s. Speaking of…

Fanstoys Roadking is a massive CHUNK of a robot, and I love him. Fanstoys are like, sadists, or something? So they strive for obscene levels of animation accuracy, no matter what. Which means Roadking turns into the entire truck, not just the cab. Consequently, he’s “fucking huge” sized. This is a massive toy made of dense plastic and even some diecast. Transforming him is a workout. He’s damn pretty though! I am no FT shill but from what I have seen their products consistently have a very premium finish and feel, and Roadking is no exception. Every last detail is done to a fine point, and everything is nice and sturdy. The only real gripe to be had is the backpack, which contains about a quarter of his altmode. It holds together fine, but it does stick out a fair bit and is hard not to mention in some capacity, no matter how understandable it may be.

He can get plenty of good poses, but again there are a few discrepancies. His ankles don’t bend that deep, and if you try and go too far you can pop out the entire rest of the truck cab. His bulk holds him back a little bit, too. Not much, but you should take some care to keep him from crumpling under his own weight. The individual fingers are a great touch, all that said. He gets swivels below his knees, and you can pop the shoulders out to get a sort-of butterfly joint. His head can even look up and down! The clear plastic inserts are a nice deviation from the solid blocks of purple from previous endeavors, and they really shine in vehicle mode.
The transformation is a lengthy endeavor but it’s not too bad I say having run through it like a dozen times. They fully accomplished IRL mass shifting but it’s not as nightmarish as that may sound. There’s a flow to it, the figure isn’t fighting you. His feet effectively grow into the full cab, with most of it being stored in his legs save for the bottom half of the grill, which form from his soles and heels. His legs then become the front of the trailer, with the inner calves folding out to roughly double the height. Trying to get the lower and upper half of this section of the trailer pegged together correctly can be a bit of a pain, with them needing to bridge together over a diecast piece that hinges out, but that’s probably my biggest gripe with the process save for how much force some tabs require, and even then, it’s mildly annoying at best. His arms fold up, forming part of the trailer roof, while his legs fold into place via a sort of second knee. His backpack then unfolds into an amount of panels that cover what’s left of his legs and torso. How reasonable that amount is, is for you to decide. Once it’s tabbed together you can close the trailer door and peg the last of the roof in.

The end result is an utterly gorgeous eighteen-wheeler that perfectly encapsulates what Motormaster’s alt mode *means*. This is a big, mean truck that will run you off the road because you looked like you were going to start driving stupid. It’s pretty, too. The chromed grill gets to fully shine, you can see even more of the diecast, with it comprising most of the trailer hitch, and the tires are made of rubber to let him roll flawlessly. He even gets a bit of trailer space! Not… much, but it’s there and that alone opens up plenty of possibilities. Some of the tabs and pegs maybe require a little more force than I’m comfortable with, but otherwise I find the affair rather fun, actually. Again, it’s just long.

Note: I totally, utterly, foolishly forgot to fold away the fake headlights he uses for his feet and to fold out two panels that finish the trailer, and I only realized after I had taken all of the photos. I was NOT doing everything again.
So, that’s three different Motormasters, released by three different companies, in three different scales. The Stunticons are a group with… a LOT of options, actually. They’ve had their fair share of appearances but still, it’s. WOW. It means you have a lot of options though, and those are never a bad thing! There’s a lot of different approaches to the same core concept, so there will probably be something that meets your criteria, whatever that might be! The Stunticons as a whole fall firmly into the “bright side” of collecting. This is a group of characters with a lot of options at a lot of different scales and price points. There are the original G1 toys, the Combiner Wars figures, the Legacy figures, Fanstoys, DX9, X-Transbots, Magic Square, Rising Force, and maybe more that I’ve missed! That’s not even counting one off, non-combining repaints and other incarnations outside of G1. If you want any of these characters to look a very specific way there’s probably a version that matches your vision. The Constructicons similarly fit under this umbrella, and groups like the Aerialbots are getting there.

Roadking is probably the best standalone Motormaster, given the integrated trailer, but he can be a bit stiff when it comes to posing and I fear what the combiner skeleton is going to look like to cram him in there (FansToys’ Superion can barely stand how’s THAT thing gonna fare?). Legacy features the most integrated combiner combination while still being solid as the solo bot, and Overlord is easily the most articulate, while also giving you plenty of options when it comes to the combined mode. The fact that he just turns into a cube for Menasor is. Probably not unrelated to either of those. No matter what you’re looking for though, when it comes to the king of the road, you’ll be sure to find something that’s in your lane.

Cold coasts and coming children
[Zoreinak turn 2: 2 (rest) + 1 (nonhoarding) + 2d6->6 = 9 power]
The Spirit War rages on. A thermokarst-riddled tundra appears in the far northeast, where hardy shrubs and grasses provide sustenance to herds of reindeer and muskox. Seabirds roost on rocky outcroppings near the coast, their colonies menaced by polar foxes and ermines. A handful of fire spirits persist in hot springs and geysers, bitter rulers of tiny fiefdoms that play host to colorful extremophiles. (shape land, 3p)
--------------
Zoreinak, however, has turned their attentions elsewhere. The simplistic wants of spirits already bore them: why not create a being with goals and intentions, in the way of gods?
Any who create a race this turn may include 3 points from Zoreinak. Two (or more) of the following things will be true about such beings.
-That they have four legs and two arms -That they possess horns or antlers of dark flint -That twins are common among them, and occur every ten births -That twins are rare among them, but of great spiritual significance -That they hunt prey, but for reasons other than sustenance, and might in fact be herbivores -That they hoard valuable and beautiful things -That they have two or more markedly different morphs -That they are courageous and outspoken -That they are philosophical and contemplative -That those of them who survive getting struck by lightning will undergo a magnificent transformation
In addition, any people so created will be willful and prone to separatism and disunity, inclined towards internal conflict, and preferring to rule in hell rather than serve in heaven.
(6 points left, for now)
#world 02548#dawn of worlds#zoreinak#this can be 300 words right bc it is two 'actions'#at any rate the second bit is pretty irrelevant if you're not planning on making a race#had a lot of fun coming up with the traits#maybe a bit many but keuze is reuze

Pairing: Cédric Riester/Jesse Venetiaan | Jung Yeseo/Christelle de Sarnez | Ham Ga-in
8k words (oneshot). E-rated 3P PWP, top!CedChris/bottom!Jesse, Spoiler Free!
SUMMARY:
Christelle smiled as she slid herself between Jesse's legs. Only then did he notice the black leather straps wrapping around her thighs, buckles of the harness snuggly strapped over her hips.
Breathlessly, purple eyes slowly trailed down her form.
"Like it better than that bastard's?" she smirked, drinking in the sight of the blond prince sprawled flush on the bed as she proudly displayed the phallus she had strapped to her front.
Sandwiching Jesse from behind, Cédric rolled his eyes.
