@bloodypeachblog @omniuravity Dedicated to my besties.
Vox knew he was spiralling.
With each static passage of electricity through the maze of wires in his body he felt his resolve crumble further… every second consumed by images flashing carelessly across his face.
Why couldnt he get rid of these pervasive thoughts?
When he dreamed he was happy, the bright colours would fade to black and from the black, came the black and white visions he knew deep down he couldn't ascertain. That certain kind of sweetness rid from the newer movies spewed from his own companies, that loss of perfect innocent love that he strove for. In life he couldn't get romance right, and in his resting hours his subconscious begged him to pursue that sickening farce of a “family”. .
He always awoke to his screens playing that same damn scene, under a cork tree on the top of a grassy hill he sat, wife in his arms, head across his lap as he waxed on while the sun set. A beautiful- unattainable picture that zoomed out to the suburbs he rotted away in during the final years of his life. No matter what remedy he tried, nothing could soothe the hallucinations that plagued his sleep-addled mainframes.
It was beginning to interfere with his day to day.
The office- a drab, but often chaotic environment buzzed just a little differently when Vox walked in that day, people gasping and awwing at their screens before hiding the monitors from him. Something was up. But there was little energy on Vox’s behalf to really care about what lower staff were doing, so long as they were getting what they needed to get done, done.
He should have suspected, however, that it was buzzing about him.
Throughout the day the chattering that he could hear all the way in his own office died down the second he stepped in the room, so- to save himself the headache- he decided to trudge up to his lookout and find the cause of the issue.
There right there.
Across all the screens in hell- save his own companies monitors was the scene, but across the bottom- like the reels in the TV broadcasts, was the phrase- “Have you seen this person, if found return to the VVV tower, Vox’s office, compensation of up to 1 mill will be received. No harm will come to the person. Thank you for your cooperation.” It was a start for him.
Like the electricity that ran through his own body he ran through the building- towards the recording studio- and into his chair, forcing all staff to their positions immediately. The red lights on the cameras blinked mockingly, as if compelling him to stop before he’d do something he would regret. Snapping his fingers, Vox quickly forced all screens in the studio on him, each crystal clear monitor, displaying his own nervous face. “Good evening ladies and gentlemen, citizens of hell-'' he began, covering the edge with the quelling smoothness of his voice, “ignore the video you are seeing on the screens. It was a technical error- and nothing else. As for the young lady in this video…” He trailed off as a feed of video faded into an ages-old monitor. A beautiful display of passion… of love, and life.
“She's not of any importance to anyone here at Voxtech, so rest assured, she does not need to be brought in for any consolation, and any attempts to give this woman here will result in you being politely escorted from the premises. Thank you for your time, this has been a Public Service Announcement.” His hands raked down his face as the screens went dark, the cords keeping them close making themselves scarce as Vox gestured away wildly, his body slumping from the overexertion of nerves. WHY THE FUCK- WAS THIS HAPPENING?
Small glitches wrought hiccups through Vox’s spine, his head hung-desperate for sleep- or at least for a decent cup of coffee, when three sharp knocks sounded. “Oh jesus- Francis! Francis can you tell them I'm a little bus- WOAH HOLY SHIT-” Vox ducked right as Francis came flying above his head. Quickly, to spare himself the equipment bill, Vox gestured for the tvs to move as his accountant was flung through. When he turned to chew out whoever was responsible for potential property damage a weight was shoved into his chest, when it writhed he dropped it.
Disgusted by what it might be.
“Now who exactly-” “Where's the million?” “Excuse me?” Vox asked incredulously, blinking rapidly as he stared into the red eyes of the sharks before him. The poor thing on the ground only then became noticeable to him, and his heart dropped to his feet as he heard quiet crying.
“The million.” “OH! Gentlemen Im so sorry- you see, that wasn't a real advertisement. I can understand your confusion though!” He proposed with a wide swing of his hands. “Well- I can tell you even I was stumped when I saw that. But rest assured it wasn't real…meaning…” he said with a small pout, chastising the men. “You won’t be getting anything. Now I'll see to it she gets home safe, bye bye now!” One of the two was about to make a fuss before the room burst blue for a split second, disorienting him.
“The exit is to the left off the balcony and onto the ground gentlemen, I trust you’ll stick the landing.” Francis, who had been recovering during the duration of this conversation, limped raggedly forward to excuse the two who had intruded. There wasn't much contest as the men shucked their heels into the ground and were essentially wheeled out. Nosy faces of employees peeked from every corner to determine the cause of the commotion but were broken by one of Vox’s well placed whistles.
In an instant he slammed the doors and rushed back over to the bag laying still on the ground, nothing but a shaky tremble as he drew nearer. Something about this warmth was familiar- if not at all strange. It felt warm from the inside out- especially as he placed his hand between her shoulders to see if her breathing evened out.
She wasn't asleep.
“Mamm?” he uttered, tapping her shoulder with a soft tone as his claw barely edged her arm. “I know you're awake, I am going to gently take off your restraints. You're safe and completely in control here.. Now, lay still for just a moment as I take these off of you ok?” Before waiting on a response his clawed hands tore through the knot that raised sad welts on the inside of her wrists. She flexed them before sitting up and going for her burlap sack. The clothes she wore were not fitting for her at all… perhaps he could fix that. A nice blue and red number with a lace collar maybe? He wanted to ponder the idea before the bag was thrown in his face and her white stockings started their scramble off the floor, and upwards.
Now- Vox for who he was took this in stride, choosing to watch as she grabbed the nearest thing to her, (a stapler) and pointed it at him. He raised his hands, and backed away, keeping a cool face, topped with his award winning smile.
“Hey doll, you can go ahead and put that down. I am not here to hurt you. I'm sorry my tv’s acted up the way they did.” Cords wrapped around a wheely chair and sent it under her, causing her to sit harshly and spin as the cords brought her closer to vox. “Hi.” He said with a cheesy smile as he plucked the green stapler from her hands and tossed it to the ground.
“We got off on the wrong foot.” The woman only glared, eyes red from overexertion, features twitching with rage. “I'll start with my name. I am Vox- and you areeee?” Urging her to speak annoyed the two of them equally, Vox because he didn't get to put a voice to the woman he had been dreaming of spending the rest of his eternal life with; and her, because she obviously would rather die.
“Y/N.” she seethed, bitterly spitting the word out at him as he swooned from her voice. “Gorgeous, you go by that?” No answer. “Bah, who needs names anyway right? I mean- names, what is a name? Is it a word, noun, adjective? You know-” he said, spinning on the back of the chair as it soared around the room, making the woman dizzy. “I'm just gonna keep calling you Doll, m’kay?” He pinched her cheek between his fingers, relishing the shocked and disgusted look he drew from her as he pulled it back.
“I think it fits! Now- you probably don't want to go home in thooose-'' he said, gesturing to her entire body. Clearly annoyed she feinted him, causing him to stumble over his words before t’sking her. “Aht. Aht. You could have met a worse fate if I didn't protect you back there… don't get smart with me…”
They both stayed like that for a minute before Vox knew he had her where he wanted her, his smile growing roguishly. “A-Atta girl!” he laughed. “I knew you could be good if you really wanted to, now, let's get you up and measur-” She cut him off. “I just need a t-shirt, and some pants..” her gruff tone astounded Vox, who pursed his lips into a smile and nodded, hands still ready to place where he needed. Placing them down he nodded, mindlessly tapping around the desk for his coffee before grabbing the cup and confidently choking down left out grape juice. “That can be done.” and in a flash it was, electricity buzzed where the old clothes were most fucked and in their place an oversized VoxTech Stars shirt hung over her. She grasped at the shirt- confused at its size before a pair of comfy sweats satiated her mind. “Now now, dont worry about how fancy you look. You're a guest here after all, everyone will know that. I have- err ...uhhh…” he said, stalling, “just about eight-ish hours left before I can clock out… can you please-” he asked with big eyes and some half assed prayer hands, “stay put until I get off?”
Her jaw dropped and eyebrows furrowed, only easing after she stared into his face. Eyes twinkling, and reflecting the colours that blinked rapidly in his eyes. To spare her from growing weary Vox sauntered forward. “How susceptible-” he whispered, holding her back with one hand and her face with another as he looked deep into her eyes, not expecting to see himself back in them. God he looked a mess, hat askew, colourful lines of stress breaking across his face, ruining his CRT scanning. The distance felt unreal, the hypnosis felt necessary, though it hadnt ever before. If there was any doubt before Vox condemned it, smiling softly as his finger trekked from her ear and down the column of her neck, doubling back around and going back over her shoulder as he released his gaze and hugged her.
Hope crossed Vox’s mind as he held her tight, mind screaming at him to just kiss her there and have her dream the same as him… but slowly he let her go, holding her by the shoulders a fleeting second, as the nigh’ comatose state of the woman bothered him.
With eyes rolled all the way around his head he let up, his control waning until she was just left tired, and headached by the experience. Soft groans escaped her mouth and Vox kept his shut because he knew if he opened it, it would divulge all those juicy nights of soft summer suburbia to a woman who couldnt give a flying fuck.
“I know it feels like a needle through the brain but hey! It's not an actual needle.” That phrasing would only be slightly uncomfortable, as the rest of the day made hell, HELL.

Seems like Basil Rathbone isn't doing too well against horror icon Vincent Price so I just wanted to submit a lil anecdote as...propaganda?
Rathbone was twice the British Army Fencing Champion, a skill that served him well in movies and allowed him to even teach actors Errol Flynn and Tyrone Power swordsmanship. Rathbone's younger brother John was killed in action on 4 June 1918. A letter Rathbone wrote to his family while serving on the Western Front following the death of his brother, John:
I want to tell him to mind his place. I think of his ridiculous belief that everything would always be well, his ever-hopeful smile, and I want to cuff him for a little fool. He had no business to let it happen and it maddens me that I shall never be able to tell him so, or change it or bring him back. I can't think of him without being consumed with anger at him for being dead and beyond anything I can do to him.
Rathbone persuaded his superiors to allow him to scout enemy positions during daylight rather than at night, as was the usual practice to minimise the chance of detection. Rathbone wore a special camouflage suit that resembled a tree with a wreath of freshly plucked foliage on his head with burnt cork applied to his hands and face. As a result of these highly dangerous daylight reconnaissance missions in September 1918, he was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous daring and resource on patrol".
A whole bunch of interesting information about Rathbone's war service here: https://www.basilrathbone.net/biography/ww1.htm
In the hopes it might push the tide a bit. Because Basil had a super interesting life in his own right and was kind of a badass, and he should not be losing this badly even if I'm expecting Price to win in the end, lol.

Banastre Tarleton
Banastre Tarleton (1754-1833) was a British military officer and politician, most famous for his role in the southern campaigns of the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). In command of an elite unit of Loyalists called the British Legion, Tarleton gained a reputation for aggression and cruelty, with Patriots even coining the phrase 'Tarleton's Quarter' to refer to his mercilessness.
Tarleton joined the British Army in April 1775 at age 20 after blowing through his inheritance. Sent overseas to fight the American rebels, he soon became one of the most infamous British officers of the conflict. Called 'Bloody Ban' after his men massacred surrendering American soldiers at the Battle of Waxhaws, Tarleton led his British Legion on raids throughout the American South, their plumed leather helmets and green jackets striking fear into the hearts of many Patriots. Defeated by Daniel Morgan at the Battle of Cowpens (17 January 1781), Tarleton nevertheless managed to return to England after the war with his reputation intact. He began a long political career in Parliament, in which he notably defended the slave trade, before his death on 15 January 1833 at the age of 78. He is best remembered today for his ruthlessness during the war, although many tales of his cruelty have been exaggerated.
Early Life
Banastre Tarleton was born in Liverpool, England, on 21 August 1754, the third of seven children born to John Tarleton and his wife Jane Parker. John Tarleton was a successful businessman involved in the Caribbean sugar trade and owned plantations in Jamaica, Curaçao, and several other islands in the West Indies. By the 1760s, the elder Tarleton owned three ships that were primarily used to deliver enslaved Africans to Jamaica; indeed, much of the Tarleton family's wealth was derived from the slave trade. In 1764, John Tarleton (or 'Great T' as he was called by his constituents) was elected mayor of Liverpool and served a single one-year term. In 1768, the elder Tarleton tried to stand for election to Parliament, but a mob of whalers prevented him from running.
Banastre (or Ban, as he preferred to be called) attended school in Liverpool. Intelligent, handsome, and charming, he was not a diligent student, preferring to spend his time playing cricket; despite his small physique, he was surprisingly strong and enjoyed many other athletic activities like boxing, horseback riding, and tennis. In the autumn of 1771, Ban and his older brother Thomas were sent to Oxford to study at University College. Tarleton remained there until 6 September 1773, when his father unexpectedly died, leaving him an inheritance of £5,000. With this small fortune, Tarleton headed to London to begin studying law at the Middle Temple. His studiousness had not much improved, however, as Tarleton often neglected his studies in favor of attending the theatre or drinking and gambling at the fashionable Cocoa Tree club. It was not long before he had nearly exhausted his inheritance, forcing him to drop out of law school.
During this period of adolescent partying, the wayward Tarleton befriended several British army officers, who likely helped put his thoughts on a military path. On 20 April 1775, the 20-year-old Tarleton purchased a cornet's commission in the King's Dragoon Guards, one of the most prestigious regiments in the entire army. It was an interesting time to enter military service, as only the day before, the Battles of Lexington and Concord had been fought on the other side of the Atlantic in the British colony of Massachusetts, sparking the American Revolution. After several months of intensive training, Cornet Tarleton was finally sent to North America in February 1776, setting sail from Cork, Ireland, under the command of Lord Charles Cornwallis. Little did Tarleton know that by the time his service in the New World was over, he would be regarded as one of the most infamous men in America.

Good News - April 15-21
(Sorry it's late, I got sick)
Like these weekly compilations? Support me on Ko-fi! Also, if you tip me on here or Ko-fi, at the end of the month I'll send you a link to all of the articles I found but didn't use each week - almost double the content! (I'm new to taking tips on here; if it doesn't show me your username or if you have DM's turned off, please send me a screenshot of your payment)
1. Restoring an unsung hero
“"We are aiming to restore a significant area of seagrass around Nova Scotia, rebuilding these ecosystems and doing it in a climate-smart way," says Derek Tittensor, head of the FOME research group and a professor of biology at Dalhousie. "Importantly, we are also integrating Indigenous and scientific knowledge of these remarkable ecosystems through a two-eyed seeing approach.””
2. Four super-rare quolls caught sneaking around Australian wildlife sanctuary
““We had a mysterious case of cat-trap tampering whereby the traps were closed, the bait was gone but no culprit inside,” explains AWC Field Ecologist, Erin Barritt. [… T]he opportunistic little mischief-makers were juvenile western quolls, the first to be born on the sanctuary in 100 years.”
3. LGBTQ+ parents are raving about ‘accessible’ gender-neutral children’s book What Makes A Baby
““Overall I think this is a great book and a great representation of what inclusive media can look like. It incorporates a variety of perspectives and experiences to make something that is accessible to everyone.” The LGBTQ+ community – with parents in particular – praised “the accuracy of the terminology”, with one writing: “Human anatomy isn’t too much for children to learn and this book makes it so accessible for them to learn!””
4. Switch to green wastewater infrastructure could reduce emissions and provide huge savings according to new research
“Researchers have shown that a transition to green wastewater-treatment approaches in the U.S. that leverages the potential of carbon-financing could save a staggering $15.6 billion and just under 30 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions over 40 years.”
5. Millions Offered Up To Create New Disability Employment Models
“[Projects] can focus on increasing access to advanced technology careers, using advanced technology to support youth or adults with disabilities to access competitive integrated employment or helping justice-involved youth with disabilities gain employment. In addition, projects can look at early intervention and workforce reintegration strategies for those with acquired disabilities or efforts to reintegrate disconnected individuals with disabilities into the workforce.”
6. Laser-Treated Cork Absorbs Oil for Carbon-Neutral Ocean Cleanup
“Cork comes from the bark of cork oak trees, which can live for hundreds of years. These trees can be harvested about every seven years, making cork a renewable material. When the bark is removed, the trees amplify their biological activity to replace it and increase their carbon storage, so harvesting cork helps mitigate carbon emissions.”
7. This boat runs on 100% renewables. Can it help clean up bigger ships?
“For the past seven years, Energy Observer has traveled around the world, serving as a floating test bed for zero-emission technologies that can propel boats and ships — without spewing any of the nasty pollution that comes from running diesel engines. […] The project’s leaders say they’re now ready to focus their efforts on cleaning up much larger and dirtier types of vessels, including cargo ships.”
8. 1,000 oceanic manta rays seen in the Maldives
“With 1,000 individuals in its waters, the Maldives is home to the world’s third largest population of giant mantas (it also has the most reef mantas (Mobula alfredi) in the world, with over 5,000 individuals).”
9. Service Finalizes Land Protection Plan for Expanding Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge
“Plan aims to deliver in-perpetuity conservation of up to 700,000 acres of land for benefit of migratory and resident wildlife. […] "These vast grassland landscapes provide essential habitat for wildlife while also providing benefits like clean water filtration and carbon sequestration, which are essential for both the environment and human well-being."”
10. Medicaid Officials Remove Barriers For Those With Disabilities
“In addition [to grace periods for submitting paperwork], states will no longer be allowed to conduct renewals any more than once every 12 months and they will be barred from requiring in-person interviews for people with disabilities, among other changes.”
And a bonus article to make up for posting late: Gay Furry Hackers strike again!

Custom Évora day tour with Kirsten & Patricia from US
5 Stars via Google Reviews: “Our small group (mother and adult daughter) had an excellent custom day tour with Antonio and Ride 351 in September. We worked with Antonio to build an itinerary, but the trip exceeded our expectations in every way. Antonio met us promptly at our lodgings in Lisbon and drove us to Evora, our destination, sharing lots of interesting facts and history with us along the way. He even surprised us with pastries! In Evora, we enjoyed a traditional lunch and learned more about Portuguese cuisine. This was followed by our favorite part of the excursion--a visit to a stunning winery that Antonio had hand-picked, where we got to tour a 16th century mansion-turned-winery complete with rediscovered chapel; learned about traditional and cutting edge wine production; sampled delicious wines; and, most exciting of all, got to see a huge ancient cork tree up close. We got to do and learn so many extra things due to having an experienced and knowledgeable Portuguese guide, and we'll treasure our memories of this day. After this, Antonio dropped us off at our lodging in Evora, ensuring that we were all good to go before leaving and even carrying our bags. He truly went above and beyond in every way and was such an engaging, informative, and kind host. We would absolutely recommend any length of tour with Ride 351--the customer service, value, and experience were all top-notch and we would love to tour with Antonio on a future visit to Portugal.” Join us https://ride351.com/dream-holidays-in-portugal/

🔥Dunkegg NSFW ficlet🔥 below the cut (warnings; omegaverse, omegas have pussies, size difference, size kink, cunnilingus, squirting, underage, come swallowing, rimming, DLDR, takes place during The Sworn Sword)
He needed a drink. The heat in the Reach had drawn the moisture out of everything of late.
What water they had to drink was sweated out in an instant. Baked away under the glare of the sun. Oft the boy whined at the sight of withered-up melons dying on the vine.
Whole orchards sagged, browning under the scorching heat.
Even Dunk had omitted the need for heavy plate mail in the current climate. He kept his longsword upon his hip, his painted oaken shield upon his back, and his squire by his side.
"You're sweating," Egg noted rather unhelpfully as Maester and Thunder were left to graze on brittle chutes of grass.
"I hadn't noticed," Dunk grumbled sourly, wiping a broad palm down the sheen of sweat upon his face. The soil greedily drank up the droplets of perspiration.
The boy offered a skin of water, the contents as tepid as the humid air. Dunk felt the lining of his mouth plump up, resuscitated - his tongue is once more reminiscent of flesh than leather after a reserved sip. He moaned, and the sound shot through his nose.
The boy squirmed beside him in his floppy sun hat.
“Go on,” Dunk says to the boy, handing off the waterskin. Forcing himself to be oblivious in the face of apple blossoms and sweet smoke dripping into the air. The boy smells more alive than anything in this sun-bitten stretch of land.
"We should conserve our water, ser. I'm not thirsty."
The boy blinks back at him with owlish eyes.
"Drink," He says firmly, "I won't have you die because you're as stubborn as your mule."
Somehow Egg's pink little moue pulls into a smile. His bare little feet wiggle, watching as Maester flicks a long, irritable ear while chewing.
While Dunk sweats out his weight in water, the boy revels in this miserable heat, just as in Dorne. A little dragon he may be, but even dragons needed sustenance.
Egg takes a small sip, his lips moistened. With careful little hands, hands that had grown used to scouring rust from Dunk's weapons and armor, the boy corks the flask and hands it back.
"Thank you, ser." He murmurs from beneath his floppy sun hat.
It had been some time since they had sworn their steel to the lord of Standfast, Ser Eustace Osgrey. Currently, they have two large casks of wine tied to Maester's back.
It had been trouble enough procuring the wine, but returning it? That would be no easy victory. Dunk was of a mind to agree with his mouthy little squire; far be it for him to let the boy know, the validation might go straight to his bald little head. Water was a scarcity they needed to preserve.
It had been only an hour since they had paused for a drink, and already his throat ached dry.
A breeze drifts by, as lifeless as all else around them. It sticks lukewarm to the sweat upon his nape and back and brings the scent of apple blossoms and sweet smoke from behind, where Egg guides Maester by his lead. The boy bobs along contentedly, sun hat upon his bald head, one bare foot in a stirrup.
Dunk's tongue fattens with the dribble of his own saliva, thick and unbidden.
He swallows, yet it does little to quench his thirst.
He is not wont to linger in this heat.
With each plodding step Thunder takes, Dunk tells himself he and the boy will enjoy a refreshing dip in the stream upon their return to Standfast. A reward for their leal service.
But the stream is far off, and few things could suffice in its stead in such weather.
They pass another orchard, filled with pear trees mostly. Sagging, sad pear trees. They smell of sweet rot.
The scent of apple blossoms and sweet smoke doesn't fade. It is potent in the cloying air, like ripened, succulent fruit made for biting into.
Dunk wipes at the moisture that drips viscous from his drooling mouth; it seems a ludicrous waste of precious liquid.
"Ser," The boy calls, "Maester is very tired."
Dunk is not wont to linger in this heat, yet he must.
They unload their cargo to bring the stubborn mule some relief, if only for a time. The boy coos, rubbing a fond hand between the mule's long ears.
They linger in the sparse shade provided by the gray, sunbleached limbs of trees.
It is a miserable period while the animals rest; it is only worsened when the boy sits beside him, bare feet knocking together.
"You're...drooling." Egg notes rather unhelpfully.
"I hadn't noticed," Dunk replies sourly. His squire blinks at him with round, knowing eyes.
"Is there anything I can do to help, Ser?"
He is a knight, a man of staunch morals...
"Yes," Dunk croaks, throat dry.
The boy grins, far too clever for his own good.
Within an instant, Dunk hauls the boy to standing between his widespread thighs. Egg's roughspun trousers are tangled around his bony little ankles. His round, pale bottom sticks out in invitation.
Egg's scent is most potent there, dripping like nectar between the downy lips of his quim.
He whimpers, and the sound is sweeter than summer rain in Dunk's ears.
Dunk's nose presses against the boy's slit, nostrils flaring to take in as much musky sweetness as he can. It floods his olfactory senses and softens his mind. Primality within him yearns.
The tip of his nose is replaced by his tongue. He groans deeply, the sound rumbling in his chest as the sumptuous taste of apple blossoms and sweet smoke pools in his mouth.
Egg whines through his teeth. The little submissive arch of his back deepens.
Narrow hips urge back against Dunk's tongue, the length of which is saturated in slick -- fresh slick.
Sticky, sweet nectar glides down his throat.
He chases the taste from the tiny nub of the boy's pearl to the snug pucker of his rear.
He is ignorant to the heat, ignorant to the discomfort of a knight's aches and pains, ignorant to anything that wasn't tight and wet flexing around his tongue.
Little hands fumble to spread his plump little quim apart. The tiny pink hole winks at the Alpha, veritably pleading for the length of his tongue once more.
He presses his tongue back inside with a growl. He sups on all the boy has to offer and drinks deeply until he cannot remember the stream he wished to swim in.
"A-ah," Egg cries out, hips bouncing more avidly than they did in a saddle.
You ride my tongue better than you do your precious Maester, Dunk told himself as he squeezed at the boy's rear in silent encouragement.
"Ser, I'm going to," His breathing catches as a broad thumb blindly gives a few coarse rubs to the boy's bud. Skinny white thighs spasm.
Dunk doesn't cease the deep, curling probes of his tongue. He gorges himself on the boy's slick.
Egg tenses briefly before a fresh stream of Omegan slick gushes into Duncan's open mouth.
He laps away with broad, indulgent strokes of his tongue. Each pass traverses supple, pasty white skin.
Egg squirms, huffing out overstimulated whines.
"Too much..." The boy whimpers.
Dunk takes and takes until his mewling squire has nothing left to give. He feels the lack of fresh slick beneath his tongue, skin that tastes like the flesh of a melon consumed down to the bitter rind.
He remembers himself soon enough and reluctantly pulls his mouth away from the boy's puffy little quim.
He watches, somewhat forlorn, as that tiny pink hole winks at him once more.
He rises from his spot in the shade beneath the gray, sunbleached limbs of trees.
"We shouldn't delay any longer, Ser Eustace will be expecting us."
"Yes, ser." The boy murmurs, words vaguely slurred.
He turns to find his squire with his pasty white face tinged red. His pretty, little cunny is as bald as his head, glistening with spit.
The boy wobbles about with boneless legs before Duncan takes pity on the poor thing.
With a single hand, he plops the boy onto Thunder's saddle.
Egg hides a bashful look beneath his sunhat as Dunk walks beside the large destrier. One hand on the hilt of his sword, the other upon Maester's reins.
"Are you still thirsty, ser?" Egg asks a short while into their trek. In his hands is their waterskin. His little bare feet don't reach the stirrups.
Dunk eyes the skin and the slight turn of the boy's mouth.
"No," he says simply. Egg grins at him atop Duncan's horse, very pleased with himself.
In truth, Dunk is not eager for a drink to wash the taste from his mouth -- sweeter than summer rain.

Saturday, April 12 - Cadiz to Lisbon

We said goodbye to friends new and old this morning, and also to our wonderful crew who have taken such good care of us these last two weeks. Unlike some last days, we weren't as rushed in the morning, as we weren't departing until after nine, and didn't even get into port until seven, so we were able to sleep in a bit.
We had been divided into buses depending on destination - ours was heading to the Lisbon airport, with a brief stop to drop off several people at the Faro train station. Others were headed to a hotel in Lisbon, or the airports in Seville and Malaga, as Windstar tried to accommodate all the changes that people had to make when we missed our original port.
After a brief stop to get passports stamped, our bus pulled out of the port at 9:30, and we headed north. Our driver stopped at least once an hour for a cigarette break for himself, and we stopped twice at highway service centers for our breaks. The stop in Faro was a bit of a fiasco - he merely stopped in town at some bus station, leaving folks to wonder where the train station was from there (we were able to show them on a map, having been there last year). Unfortunately, four people thought he was going to the Faro airport, which was on the other side of the estuary, but he claimed he didn't know about that and was running late, so they were basically just dumped at the bus station, also. One of the couples who we befriended has since told me they were able to get an Uber, but the whole incident was unsettling for them.
From then on, it was a long journey past lots of cork and olive trees, with mostly gloomy skies and occasional rain. We saw lots of cranes (the birds and the building type, especially in a new construction area around Seville). The bird cranes seem to especially love nesting on power poles (see the third picture), and were also everywhere in the fields.
We finally arrived at the Lisbon airport at 4:30 (an eight hour journey with the time change), but our Spanish driver was unfamiliar with it, so we drove a few loops before he figured out where to drop us. He wanted to be done with all of us, but some people had been told he would drop them at the Star Inn (our hotel) so they insisted on staying on the bus. We don't know what actually transpired, but we were able to reorganize our stuff on a bench at the airport, throw away our mostly uneaten, only half edible "catered lunch bag", walk to our hotel and check in by the time the bus pulled up. I think they probably did a few more loops of the airport.
Because our flight is at 5:55 tomorrow morning, we opted not to go get anything to eat this evening, but just shower and crash, and have set the alarm for 2 AM. We were a little disappointed to be leaving so early, as this hotel has a great breakfast spread included, so we were delighted when we heard they actually open breakfast at 2 AM! Now that's what I call a true airport hotel!
A couple of notes on the pictures. The tall building is in Cadiz - it looks like a regular apartment block with a little temple on top. The great clouds are from one of our driver's stops. The others are scenes from our bus window - the last is by the estuary on the Tagus coming into Lisbon.
Tomorrow should be epic, as we will have one flight, two bus trips, a train trip and a final drive in a rental car to reach our destination. No more boats, though, at least for a while.
