I merely find it interesting and there is a lot of misinformation about the tragedy. While Dylan does fall under that category of someone I would have been friends with or had a crush on in high school, I find fangirling over him and Eric, and anyone else who have committed atrocities like theirs, disturbing and insulting. But that's just my onion. It has layers.

Like this blog is definitely my most successful tumblr project, but I have been around the block. This is not my first rodeo. At this point I've had, in chronological order, a leftist meme blog, an ASPD focused blog, an autism focused blog with a Ted Bundy focused sideblog (not proud of this one), a terf blog (even less proud of that one), and a schizophrenia focused blog with an anti MAP sideblog - and it all somehow led to me being here, at 25, doing this. elaine's internal monologue about being kidnapped is something personal to me. after a horrible experience i had while jogging one day, i started consuming true crime content 24/7 because i thought it would help me regain some control, but in reality it just made me SO anxious about everything and distrustful of everyone. not only that, but the truth is that violence happens whether you're prepared for it or not. basic knowledge of self defense & safety is great, but letting fear rule your life is not!

i know puking is gross to read about but it was so necessary to show how, like you said, elaine's gut feeling is at odds with both what she's saying out loud AND what she's thinking in her head.

elaine has been calling asa bigfoot for forever, and now it's finally canon fjskdjs

i liked the part about the glasses because it's something i wouldn't be able to portray easily in a normal story post. and i definitely wanted austin's feelings to seem more complicated than he lets on! elaine wonders if he's worried about the same things or if he would even talk to her about it if he was. so even she can't pick up on his true feelings right now.

the reason asa reacted the way he did here is because he knows that elaine is going to be inundated with people judging her soon, so he felt no need to pile onto that. with alisa it was different, because everyone else seemed to like her uncritically, so asa felt like he needed to be the person to look out for jada. i also think it's easier for asa to give austin the benefit of the doubt, because austin seems to have good intentions even if his execution doesn't come across that way, while it seemed to him that alisa is just playing games with people's emotions for the fun of it. in general, asa tries to give everyone a chance, alisa just pushed his buttons tbh

AITA for not remembering the person who framed my brother for kidnapping?

Ok ok so I know this sounds bad, but I (25 M) was throwing a Halloween party and I let my brother (16 M) invite his friends because I’m awesome like that.

Anyway at the party was my friend K (25 F) and her boyfriend D (25 M). Now D is a huge HUGE true crime fan and very into serial killers and all that and he has been begging K to do matching serial killer costumes for years, but K refused because they were all “creepy old white guys.” Now recently there was a case of a teenage girl going on a serial killer spree so K finally gave in and dressed up as her for D and he was so excited.

Now here’s where I might be the asshole. As it turns out that serial killer girl had kidnapped my brother’s boyfriend and framed my brother for murder, and I didn’t connect the name when K and D arrived and told me what their costumes were (I was also a little drunk).

Well my brother’s boyfriend saw K and had a panic attack, and then my brother yelled at K and started a fight. I tried to calm him down and then he revealed the whole serial killer story. I told K and D to leave, but now my little brother won’t talk to me because he’s mad at me.

AITA? What can I do?

what do you have to say about factkin of serial killers and such? :0

1. I don't think there's anything outright wrong with being serial killer factkin BUT you can't be very casual about it. Some of my kintypes have done bad things. I know that. I acknowledge that. I talk about how I am aware of those things and I am not like my past lives in this life. It's important to be critical of your kintypes in any case when they're real people and it's important to be mindful of how you interact with people when you're identifying in that way. You should also be mindful of how publicly you hold that identity for your own safety and for everyone else's. Kintypes are not usually voluntary things but you are in control of your actions in this life.

It also matters how recent the acts were. Jeffery Dahmer requires a different set of rules than say Vlad the Impaler.

2. I don't necessarily trust everyone who claims to be serial killer factkin because there are a lot of trolls who like to say they are sensational people. Usually they pick whoever is most controversial at the time. I've seen troll blogs go from Trump to Ben Shapiro to Ted Bundy over the years because they know exactly how to push people's buttons. I would say most "serial killer factkin" blogs on here are trolls. When you meet someone genuine you will probably know it.

3. I don't trust true crime fans in general who say things like "so and so was SO misunderstood watch this documentary/listen to this podcast/watch this drama series about them you'll see" like no. You HAVE to acknowledge the things that they did and the way they affected real people if you're going to talk about them. You cannot glorify or romanticize them. It doesn't matter if it's true crime, alterhumanity, or anything else. They were Not Misunderstood Smol Uwu Precious Babies they were MURDERERS. More importantly their victims were real people.

Tldr

Real genuine serial killer factkin who are responsible and know when/where to broadcast their identity and how to talk about their kintypes without glorifying their actions: ☑️🖤💙💕💗 ily

Real serial killer factkin who are not critical of their identities at all and tell everyone about them always with no regard for the comfort of others: 😓😠 do better

This sounds vaguely familiar! As in, youtube recc'd me a true crime video about it just this morning because not even my VPN keeps me safe, apparently, especially given that I just don't watch true crime stuff????

But I do think I watched something or another about it years ago. Something something "gender crisis" something something "she's my gf and I am also a ghost girl"?? I was only half paying attention if so but it does ring a bell.

Thoughts on true crime rpf?

My take on that is the same take as it is for rpf in general.

RPF is a brand of fiction all of its own, utilizing idealized or fictional interpretations of real people. So loosely sometimes that the only thing that's the same is the name and face.

As such, I think rpf is fine to create.
