🏜️: Hmmm... Personally I don't mind any comment, they all great, unique and heartwarming! I guess my favorite type of comment is ones where they analyse the story. Its fun to see readers turn into mini-Matpats trying to piece together the story and the themes ☺️

🍅: If there's any criticism I would give myself for my writing, is reading more books 🤣

🌻: There a lot of people I appreciate but don't talk very often. I don't know which to chose however, since everyone of them are good people in their own ways, with different opinions. So... 🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character

Jamie doesn’t think donkeys are real. I don’t know how unpopular that is but it’s the first thing I thought of and I’ve been thinking about this on and off all day and it’s all I can come up with.

💌 ⇢ how many unread emails do you have right now? 

1. Something for work that I need to print so I’m not opening it until I’m going to print it. I’m one of those people that hate having notifications. Inbox zero or I’ll die.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

I think like most people I just wrote something I wanted to see. I wrote my first fan fiction when I was in middle school or something and then did not write again until May. I had no intention of writing. I got back into fan fiction when I started watching Narcos in March and April and then by April I started getting Jamie Tartt brain rot and then read through all of ao3. I still had no intention of writing until I couldn’t get a line out of my head as I drove to babysit my niece. I put her to bed and still couldn’t get it out of my head so I wrote a quick little fic on my phone and published it before I had a chance to second guess myself. And now almost ten months later and 43 fics later, here we are!

Hm, personally I like a mix of both but I tend to lean towards OC’s 😅. For example; for the Leo x Reader fic I created an OC in order to try and get an idea for a partner for him, and it actually worked and I used them as inspo for the reader’s personality in that fic! So a mix of both but leans more towards OC’s 🥰!

🥐 ⇢ name one internet reference that will always make you laugh 

I’m assuming this is kind of like a meme? Hmm…the only internet reference that makes me laugh is a silly video where a bull rider (or rodeo clown) puts his leg on a wall while Smash mouths “All star” is playing and suddenly the music stops, and then as the bull suddenly bangs the metal door open the music starts up again 😅. It was shocking, but the editing on that video was so good that it made me laugh!

(Is this an interney reference? I’m old so I don’t know if thats what this means 😭)

🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate

Hmm…I guess I’ll go with Jester this time 😆.

1 He has cool magic

2 Has pretty interesting lore that I wish they would have expanded on in the movie!!

3 He has so much potential in and out of canon!

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

Mischaracterization, or those “bashing X character” fics! This just *sigh* this just grinds my gears so bad; sometimes I let mischaracterization pass because it “fits the AU better” (such as crack fics) but when you write a fic where you intentionally mischaracterize a character in order to bash them and make them look bad its just…really in poor taste. Especially when you bash this character in order to make another character or a particular ship “look better” just *sigh* I will click out a fic so fast whenever i see that happening 😭!

🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now

Ohhh man, I’m scared if I say anything is good I’ll jinx it. 😬

1) I bought one of those Kirkland chicken nuggets bags for the first time and everyone in my family loved them and the whole bag is gone in 4 days. Highly recommend. They’re those “lightly breaded chicken breast chunks” in the green and white bag.

2) My favorite sushi spot (same one I wrote into Rough Night like a dork lmao) almost closed because the sushi chef / owner has colon cancer. But with a lot of community support they were able to stay open while he received treatment and he is back to making the most amazing, freshest sushi. 🥰 They are the nicest people and I couldn’t be happier about how good he looks.

3) My kid’s teacher has not needed to send me a note about his behavior in over two weeks! Which is an achievement for him. She’s the sweetest, most amazing teacher. We requested her special for when he started at this school and she’s been so patient. I’m going to give her an end of year tip for the way she’s been able to handle him and his need to… entertain.

A Goodreads review for a book I recently finished. This is the book and I gave it 2 stars because it was really silly.

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

Oh, you know, what we all research. Various forms of real estate fraud, embezzlement, money laundering. Various positions in city office and administration and what they do. Where all the Dollar Trees are located in the Detroit area. I truly appreciate how this fandom is committed to its craft and making realistic crime scenarios and want to contribute on par with the greats. 😁

My apologies to anyone who’s reposted the Truth or Dare Ask Game and if I haven’t sent you an ask! I feel like my settings on here should be adjusted to avoid algorithms and suggestions and focus on those I actively follow. I just haven’t found how.

The weather is warming up

🍓 how did you get into writing fanfiction?

I've always written in some form for as long as I can remember.

The X-Files was my gateway into reading fic as a young teen. I spent years quietly lurking and devouring everything I could get my hands on, but I was always too timid to participate. Years later, after the show had gone off the air, I started a rewatch and finally felt brave enough to share some of what I had written.

@vezalust maybe it's the y2k robot dog banner speaking but i feel like you have experience with this sort of thing? i think you would suggest a place to hide a body and then immediately say to forget it because you've already hidden one there

@celestiaras there's two ways this could go. either you're a stone cold killer baddie that ends up being the mvp, orrrrrrrr you get queasy at the sight of mysta and i hauling the body. either way every good plan needs a freeloader and i think the princess herself would provide excellent commentary without getting her hands too dirty

reader inserts!

but i feel like sometimes reader inserts are original characters. i really love incorporating backstories, personality, etc into them because even though they’re blank slates, you can pretend that you’re a different personality than your own whenever you reader a reader insert. it’s almost necessary for me to make them distinct in my longer fics.

in a previous fandom i ended up writing a [character] x reader fic on request for a soft and shy reader. i ended up writing 9k-ish words on this reader that looks scary because they’re huge compared to other people, but they had an adorable hobby along with being a gentle giant. i ended up giving that reader a proper name, design, and never shared my oc outside of my friend group but i love them dearly even if i’m not so active in that fandom anymore…!

Hmm…I guess another weird thing that I googled for a project was “poisonous plants that can kill quickly” 😆. I needed it for COTF: Shadows, and thats how I found out that the beads they used to use for rosary’s were actually very poisonous if you break the shell and consume them!

(I was going to list something else but I changed my mind XD)

I like surprises! Tbh I used to really, really dislike surprises because my dad and sister would *always* ruin them. But now I’ve found my love for surprises again and I really like them (as long as they’re good surprises ofc)! They’re just really fun 🥰.

🥤 - recommend an author or fanfic you love

OMG I needed an excuse to do this.

One of the -- if not THE -- BEST fanfics I've ever read is From Which Stars Have We Fallen, to Meet Each Other Here? by @naberiie and @evaceratops. It's yet another rarepair (possibly the rarest I've ever encountered), but WOW. Absolutely blew me away. It got me crying actual tears over two characters who were never even in a single scene together in canon. Actually, one of them has never been in live-action and the other has never been animated. So like...... it's rare. BUT SO SO SO SO GOOD and I will shout about it from the rooftops every chance I get.

There are many more I love, but I'll put those in another post someday!

🍄 - share a headcanon for one of your favorite ships or pairings

lol oh man I have so many. But one of my favorites and one that I think is more of a crack-headcanon than an actual serious one is the whole "anatomy analysis" shindig at the end of Agents of Shield season 7 😂 I re-watched that ep last week, and Jemma was SO clearly just talking about an alien species or something, but me and a whole bunch of other diehard dousy shippers were like..........what if Daisy is pregnant???? and idk, there were some adorable fics that came out of it and a whole bunch of cute art that I got to be involved in, and it was a great time. I still maintain that headcanon when I need some light fluffy family dousy vibes :)

🪐 - name three good things going on in your life right now

I'm sitting by an open window right now that looks out into the Austrian countryside, with mountains surrounding me and a light breeze coming through and I can just relax and not worry about responsibilities for a little while

I just purchased the GREATEST dairy free white chocolate with coconut and I'm currently in sugar induced heaven

I enrolled in college for the fall, and I've been missing school and wanting to get a stable career under my feet, and this will do just that and I'm SO EXCITED

🦴 - is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?

Honestly, not one specifically. I'm a culmination of every book I've read, every movie/show I've watched, every experience I've lived, every place I've been, every person I've ever talked to, all tossed into a cauldron and swirled around together until something semi-recognizable as my style came out. And I'm okay with that :)

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

I’ve always been a daydreamer but never really got into writing, my own perfectionism always thwarted me. Almost a year ago now, I stumbled upon the Batfam fandom and fell platonically head over heels for Jay. Around the same time, a family member got really sick, eventually transitioned to palliative care, and then went into hospice. I spent a lot of time with them where all I could do was sit next to them and just be there. I devoured everything I could find in the fandom that fit my interests (you would not believe how many fics I’ve read in the last year), branched out to the comics, and then somewhere along the way started writing, too.

🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

I can’t pick a favorite. I absolutely cherish heartfelt, long, detailed comments, but I also have commenters who regularly leave <3s and I love that just as much. Someone once left a comment that was just *basks* and I go back and look at that all the time and grin. I think the most fun I have with comments is when some asks a question, ‘cause then I get to think more about the story, decide how to answer, how much to reveal, etc. The dialogue is fun.

☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?

KindlingKeen comes from my DnD group of many years ago. We were on a long campaign and my character had a Tressym familiar that I was very attached to. The DM killed it off (still not sure I buy that it was unintentional) and I had some big feelings about that. Our group had been staying in an inn, and I promptly set it on fire. Aggressively. And repeatedly. In spite of many, many attempts to get me to stop. Thus the nickname ‘Kindling Keen’ was born.

🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?

Seven. I enjoy it because it's extremely satisfying, like I'm improving on what I wrote. What I hate is when I see things that need to be edited after my work's been posted and people have already read my shit (this happened a LOT with The Master Wand, as late as just this morning).
