Hello~
Have you read The Babel Discrepancy by Telperien? I thought it was interesting so maybe you will too
I have! I have it bookmarked with a comment to myself that starts out: “masterfully canon compliant, a unique approach to a Jason fix-it”
This fic introduced me to a lot of canon I was previously unaware of. The number of comics I owned skyrocketed after I read it, lol.
There’s something so matter of fact about Bruce and his approach to Jason in this story that I find really intriguing (it’s pretty unique among the fics I’ve read, altho that might just be the corner of fandom I inhabit). I absolutely love this line from Bruce (and the entire scene in Chapter 4 that it comes from):
"And don't tell me what Jason can and cannot do again. You never met him."
Thanks so much for sharing, anon! 💙
The Babel Discrepancy by Telperien (heads up, I think you have to be logged in to ao3 to read this one)

Hi Keen. idk if you read Jewish Bruce, but if you're still taking recs you may enjoy "and I hear your son is king, beloved in a foreign land by Trekkele" archiveofourown(.)org/works/49609963 A short but lovely look at a Jewish Bruce grieving Jason <3
Hi, anon! Well, that packed quite a punch in a small package. I had not, but I read it with my coffee this morning because it seemed like an appropriate day for it.
I really loved this line:
“I suppose you have to ask yourself, Mr. Wayne, if you can mourn the child-that-was without losing the child-that-is. If you are willing to hold so fast to your grief you threaten to bury him again.”
It’s a concept that I find endlessly fascinating (and heart wrenching) when it comes to Jason and Bruce.
Thanks so much for sharing, Anon!

i just realized that there's not a single mention of Joker in Asymmetrical Warfare so far. is this deliberate? (he's still alive in the series, right?)

Generally I’m of the opinion that the wavy knife Jason wields is a flambard dagger, but I was watching this informative video today and stopped in my tracks when I heard-
“A Kris is an object of unconditional love. This love exists between the bearer of the blade and the Kris itself. Through this, a Kris protects the bearer from all threats external and internal- including from oneself.
The blade is borne from an act of love, exists in a state of love with its bearer, and then is passed from bearer to bearer generation to generation in a continuation of that love.”
…and now I can’t get over the IMPLICATIONS.
Also (I’m not SE Asian or Filipino so let me know if I’ve misinterpreted) but man is it not so appropriate for Talia to give something so symbolic? A weapon to protect him, a gift to ward off self-destruction, a recognition and relation to his capacity for love.

Apologies if this is a bit strange but I had an medical appointment earlier today that I was scared af for, and to get me through it I just went through everything I could remember about the AW series. It absolutely worked.
So. Yeah. Your series is amazing and is very good at kicking fear in the ass o7 thank u
Anon, I’m so incredibly touched by this, I can’t even begin to tell you. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. Scary medical appointments suck, I’m so so so happy AW helped you through it. 🩵🩵🩵

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
Tumblr media
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
Tumblr media
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

real talk, the short and simple as to why jason's death is different is in the how, why, and what. there's how it happened, why it happened, and what it served to do.
every other batfam death does not hold the same weight as jason's how, why, and what.
they cannot claim the torture, they cannot claim irreparably damaging the patriarch, they cannot claim the real world weight.
jason's death was different because it changed EVERYTHING, and those changes have not been undone.
any death following jason simply does not have the same impact, and comparing them makes no sense. there was and IS a lasting intention in jason's death, that is not there for anyone following him.
