Try Not To Sing Along Challenge - Island Style
youtube
Here's something which marked me diff from besties. Island Style was my jam as well as my doggies. Think they've One upped me by being able to dance in public. Thought I was going to say academically or something that no longer makes a diff for me huh? So what if I'm shy.

Guys I know you are all hating Jayce right now but I think y'all missed an important detail.
Jayce shooting Viktor wasn't what made Warwick go berserk.
Tumblr media
He was very much fine when Jayce fired at Viktor.
It was most likely Singed who caused it as Cait and jinx left him alive.
Tumblr media
The shot is very easy to miss but it's there. He probably finished what he was planning to do with Vander which caused him to loose it and kill Ambessa's goon which is what truly started the conflict.
Now wether you want to hate him for shooting Viktor to begin with is another story but I for one want to wait to see what actually happened to him(+ Heimedinger and Ekko) when they disappeared.

For Wynn: what's your favourite meal? For Erandir: what's a special memory from your childhood? For Merian: what's a good cure for stomach ailments? For Arric: what's your favourite view? For Raya: what's your favourite thing to bake? For Caliam: do you feel you're in the wrong tale?
Wynn: what's your favourite meal?
Ahh, for all the famous regional dishes of Northern Dorenan, naught beats a savory pie for me. Ye’ve made me hungry just thinking about it.
Erandir: what's a special memory from your childhood?
I have vague memories of coming along with my mother when she was visiting someone recovering from an injury. She was bringing a basket of food and medicines. …Sorry, Merian, I don’t remember more details about the injury or medicines. Just that she sang to me on the way to amuse me.
Merian: what's a good cure for stomach ailments?
*is distracted with Erandir’s story* Hmm? Oh, sorry. It is hard to say. It depends on the ailment and also the person. My old standby of ginger makes some people feel worse somehow, though it works well for me. Peppermint… cinnamon… lemon balm… bee balm… bitter greens to stimulate digestion… *steeples fingers and takes deep breath* I do not care if Caliam thinks this is cheating, I have found an article that says it better than I can, and in the name of giving useful information I will share it! But the short answer is that it depends on the ailment and the cause. *hugs*
Arric: what's your favourite view?
Nothing against mountains or forests, but I like wide open spaces. Meadows, or fields of grain stretching out till they meet the sky. I don’t know that I have a clear favorite yet though.
Raya: what's your favourite thing to bake?
I have one oatmeal scone recipe I use a lot. It’s delicious and nearly foolproof—or else I’ve made it so often that I can tell what it needs more or less of—so it’s nice to try different things with. Blaeberries or heather honey with cream are my favorite additions.
Caliam: do you feel you're in the wrong tale?
>_>
Not really, I guess, though I want to be doing something. Isn’t it a bad thing to have a passive protagonist?
[Meri’s note: he may have a slight point here as I’ve let Wynn and Raya talk him out of doing something too foolish. I need to let him make a decision. They were perfectly in character as they persuaded him not to but it took a lot of work because he was perfectly in character to want to.]

Okay as we started talking about Ben and Lettie's random pair up, I want to talk about how how hilariously out of place their main "love" moment were in the final of the book.
Without any hatred to the final itself, it's one of the best happy endings I've ever read, it's just this particular scene looks like it was written in the last second.
Wizard Suliman was at least a strong-minded as Lettie was. Lettie looked quite nervous as Suliman loomed craggily over her. "It seemed to be the Prince's memory I had of you and not my own at all," he said.
"That's quite all right," Lettie said bravely. "It was a mistake."
"But it wasn't!" protested Wizard Suliman. "Would you let me take you on as a pupil at least?" Lettie went fiery red at this and did not seem to know what to say.
First of all, Ben, dear, WHY are you starting conversation with "the Prince" and the fact that it was his memory? I mean, it is important, yes, but it also wasn't really worth mentioning as you both see each other for the first time, and she had a brief conversation with the Prince? Lettie is smart, she can connect two dots together.
(seriously, If you want to talk about Prince Justin talk about Prince Justin, there's no need to do randomly conversation with his mention.)
Second of all, again, what happened to "hello"? Or "sorry"? Or some kind of introducing of yourself? She knew Percival, yeah, but this is first time you see eachother, as, well, each other.
Ben, I love you dearly, but you clearly cannot start a conversation. That's the price you're paying for being a nerdy introvert in your thirties.
(Yes, starting the talk with your countryman by apologising for biting him is not the best possible option, either.)
Third of all, I think we all can agree the "at least a pupil" line didn't exits. It was delivered so rapidly and quicky, no one present could actually process whatever is going on here.
Let's all just sing my bestie Ben Sullivan for speaking club lessons, I think he's gonna be glad.

I'm about to brag about myself, but y'all I am SO proud of where I've gotten to with singing. It's been literal years of intentional and frequent practice (and if I actually took lessons at any point I probably could have accelerated that but oh well lol).
If I could show one of my recent recordings to myself 10 years ago I wouldn't believe it was me. I'm not perfect or anything and there's still a lot of room for improvement, but I'm comfortable saying that I'm a pretty good singer. Which would have been an unthinkable way to describe myself when I was younger.

One of my favourite bloggers on here is having discourse with their anons about music and how it’s more important to be able to sing than to write good songs and about how no one sings their heart out these days and it’s making me so sad because I just want to yell out GO LISTEN TO LOREENA MCKENNITT SHE DOES BOTH!!!! HER MUSIC IS LITERAL FECKING POETRY AND SHE SONGS HER HEART OUT TOO!!! AUGH!!! THERE’S MORE OPTIONS THAN WHAT PLAYS ON THE RADIO!!!! AUGHHHH!!

Headcanon that the Royal Family of Arendelle has a history of belting out songs late at night (because Iduna would absolutely be down for that) and it was considered something akin to a beloved tradition where the entire kingdom would stay up late to hear their queen's beautiful voice, singing them to sleep.
Then when Iduna died it was nothing but silence in the evenings, leading to almost a decade of restless nights.
When Elsa took the throne, people were still wary... until the evening songs returned, and the Kingdom of Arendelle knew everything was going to be okay.
(When Elsa departed to the North, everyone was really proud and supportive of Anna, who is very obviously not a naturally talented singer, for doing her best to carry on the tradition anyway. She gets better with time.)

[tone: in jestful mockery of people giving unhelpful medical advice]
Have you tried standing on your head for 17 minutes while singing God Save the Queen and then soaking your feet in tomato soup for an hour?
(In sincerity: a dislocated rib sounds awful. Hope you find some way to stay comfortable until either it passes or you get an actual solution)
I mean you jest but I actually do stand on my head* to fix some of my issues and have been known to sing while upside down. I haven't tried singing God Save the Queen or being upside down for that long though (not this one though it wouldn't help with this one lol). I try to reply to all medical advice from people that meant well postively but I gotta admit the tomato soup I can't come up with anything to say to lol (Thanks! I'm doing better already, I've got a hot water bottle and took a tylenol. It is back in place, and as long as I take it easy, will probably stay back in place based on my track record. As far as I know, there's not really a solution, once you dislocate a rib you are more likely to dislocate it again, and my ribs like to wander) *okay not really on my head exactly, but my mom got me this like. headstand practicing contraption? Idk how to describe it, it's like a padded metal frame you put your shoulders against so you can practice being in headstand/handstand position but with your weight on your shoulders on the contraption instead of on your head or arms, so that it's easier. Sometimes I will be upside down for a bit to try to kinda reboot my circulatory system. Sometimes it even works! It mostly doesn't but it's fun lol
