awkward monday upload: my 4t2 conversion of @syboubou's little dino kids set... but almost completely redone, with a bunch of quality of life fixes! those include: no more annoying vignette crunchiness on the deco objects, no more t-posing plushies, and no more giant texture sizes!

major changes have been listed below the cut, but suffice to say that i've been dissatisfied with my conversion of this set for ages and was inspired to redo it when i saw an anon ask @freezerbunny-sims2 got some months ago. i'm considering this a redux and not an update, since the older set isn't specifically 'broken', just not up to my standards. you can't have both though, as they use the same guids!

Changelog

All textures (should) now be of a maximum 1024x1024 texture size.

No more weird vignette textures! All TXMTs have been updated.

The Big Plushy (and Small Big Plushy) now have their arms in non-T-pose positions. Sorry this took so long anon, I kinda forgot!

The toddler bed has now been updated and cloned from themediocresulk's Toddler Beds as Pet Beds (but for Toddlers).

Things to Note

'T-Rex the Rex, but Tinier' is repo'd to 'T-Rex the Rex'.

Diplo toy is not decorative, it can be played with like a regular toy from the toybox!

'Dresser' and 'Dresser Small' are a hallway table and endtable, with the smaller version being repo'd to the larger.

'Ivy Bed Decor' and 'Bed Blanket' must have moveobjects and snaptogrid off to be placed.

💐 4t2 florist set 💐

i've been wanting to get an (ideally 4t2) alternative for the flower arranging station for a while now, and the newest kit gave me the final kick i needed. i wanted something that would maybe look less out of place in an average sim's shed, so maybe just a potting table and a shelf instead of a fridge? and then i decided i might as well make something for more professional florists, so i separated some clutter from the mws flower truck (including the little flower bags that i just realized i instead call 'baskets' throughout the entire post and in the files, just ignore that). it didn't really have any recolors except for 3 different frames for the chalkboard thingy, so i made some quick recolors for some of the items too (i sort of picked the colors at random, not following any wood system or anything, feel free to recolor whatever you want).

first of all the workbench:

two subsets (shelf and table), all the original ts4 swatches which i didn't include here bc im lazy; hobby>misc $875. requires OFB!

i went for an empty shelf so you can put whatever you want there with omsps (it doesnt have slots), or, if you don't feel like arranging a bunch of flowers or whatever but dont want an empty shelf, i rearranged the original ts2 flowers and included them so you can just put them over (or under, as they act like a rug) the shelf. they're also in hobby>misc, $10.

unlike the original ts2 version it doesn't have a door to open, so the animation gets a bit wonky:

tbh it's not something i particularly care about so, eh.

then there's some bouquets to put on top of counters (or wherever else); only one swatch as it didn't have recolors and i didn't feel like making any for this, deco>misc $250:

next, wall deco, i put everything on a single tile even if some of this stuff is bigger than that, hopefully this works better for people who have to use omsps!

there's a shop sign and some display bouquets, again with no recolors, both in deco>wall &250:

some boards with ribbons, single subset and 6 swatches (one ts4 original + some quick custom ones by me), deco>wall $250:

next, flower baskets either as a single copy or a set of four, deco>wall, the single one is $60 and the set is $240. both versions have two subsets (flowers and basket) and 6 swatches of the baskets, but the single also has 6 colors of flowers, while the set only has two (a mixed colorful swatch and a fully white one).

and finally, some chalkboard + plant deco that i didn't know what to name, deco>wall $250; two subsets (frame and plant) and 5 recolors each (3 ea ones for the frame and the rest is custom)

Around the Sims Pet Shop made recolorable:

Didn’t find this set made recolorable anywhere so i changed that. Everything is recolorable now, with recolors from the TS4 meshes. You should let the files replace the old ones if you have them on your downloads folder, since they use the same  GUID’s.

the stack beds, dog clothes and the model dog don’t have any recolors, and I also add to the set a deco pet bed that was lacking for ts2.

This is a large set of recolors, mainly because of the number towels included in this set.  Towels and Deco files have their own folder and is organized by Creator, this will allow for quick and easy deletion of files you don’t want.  Also, for your convenience, there is a collection file and all meshes are included.  Let’s get started.

Well, this is disappointing... :(

So I was in my TS2 game tonight. Built a new lot in the desert neighborhood. Then went to move in the Sim I built the lot for...and the Family Bin won’t open. It just hangs there with a spinning cursor forever. I let it do so for about 20 minutes before finally giving up and accepting that it wasn’t going to open. Because it was hung-up, I had to close the program via the task manager.

So, I did the usual things (deleted caches, restarted computer, blah, blah, put in an older backup of said neighborhood from a couple of days ago, deleted the neighborhood manager), loaded the game again, went into every other neighborhood (I’ve got seven of ‘em besides the problem one), and opened the family bin. Fine and dandy, opened immediately, even the corrupted Longhollow. Went into the desert neighborhood, clicked on the family bin....Same thing. Spinning cursor, program unresponsive. I can do anything else in the neighborhood, play any of the lots, build, go into the neighborhood deco menu, whatever. Just can’t get at the family bin. And without that, the neighborhood is kinda unplayable. :\

There is only one Sim in the bin, one that had just aged up to adult and moved out. I can access him via SimPE just fine and nothing looks amiss. 

I have no idea what to do about this, aside from just bagging the neighborhood and starting over. Which is what I will likely do, although I probably won’t go to the effort of extracting/recreating all the Sims. I’ll just plunk down copies of the lots and create entirely new Sims and start over. Which is a bummer, but unless anyone has any ideas about what might be causing this and whether or not it can be fixed....Well, I got nothin’. :p
